High-quality cuisine and impeccable service An excellent family experience at El Perocote. The restaurant stands out for its varied menu, with meticulously prepared dishes and top-quality products. We want to highlight the staff's attention; they were extremely professional and attentive, providing excellent recommendations for both the dishes and their extensive wine cellar. Their meats deserve special mention for their extraordinary quality. Regarding the price, it reflects the exclusivity of the product: for four people, we enjoyed three appetizers, four main courses, and two desserts, accompanied by a Ribera del Duero Tamarón, for a total of €276. It's important to note that choosing specialty cuts of meat, such as the ribeye steak from young cows (€105 for two), increases the bill, but the exceptional quality fully justifies the investment.

We had croquettes (the creamiest and tastiest we've ever had), foie gras with a poached egg (I'd go back to this place just for this dish; thank goodness we ordered the whole portion!), and creamy rice with beef cheeks (INCREDIBLE). The staff was very attentive and friendly, and we finished our meal in just one hour. We're from Bilbao, and it's an hour from home, but it's definitely a place we'll return to and recommend to everyone we know. Oh, and for an appetizer, we ordered some homemade sausage—it was so good we took three of them home—and some breaded olives, which I'd never tried before.

As someone who does not normally give reviews, I just had to drop a 10000000/10 stars for this restaurant. We booked for 21:45 on a Friday, and the food, ambience, and service were that of a Michelin starred dining experience. As soon as we sat, the manager/owner made us feel at home. He personalized our meal by making sure we had just the perfect amount of every item we ordered. The staff was just as attentive, changing our plates after every meal, keeping our tables clean, and checking in on how everything was going, without being intrusive. The food was PHENOMENAL. We ordered the lomo marinado, croquetas, buñuelos de bacalao, rabas, and entrecôte. All had depth in flavor, and it was very obvious that their produce (i.e. fish, meats) were of excellent quality. We topped our dinner with a cheesecake and a flan, and these were perhaps just as good or even better than what we’ve had in all of Spain. All in all, El Hostal del Pericote was a total gem. If you’re looking for elevated Spanish food and a refined atmosphere in Cantabria, don’t skip this one.

The food is so good here, and we were so well looked after. You can tell they pay attention to the details and enjoy recommending the best. I was torn between ordering ribeye or sirloin, and the person taking our order suggested we try two cuts of entrecote with different ages. What a great choice! It was a wonderful experience and a very good recommendation. The salad was also very good, and for my daughter, we ordered croquettes, creamy and perfect for kids. The restaurant is truly a top choice in Cantabria. We were only sad that the garden was unavailable during our visit, as the glassed-in area is beautiful, but in August it would have been ideal to enjoy it outside. Even so, we had a great meal. The product, service, and atmosphere were all 10/10. Highly recommended.

Spectacular! The meat is very well cooked and of excellent quality. We also ordered some cecina croquettes and some squid, which were also delicious. The staff is very attentive and explains the different types of meat to advise you based on your tastes. WE WILL RETURN!

We come to this restaurant once a month (or even more!), and each visit is a true delight. The meat is of excellent quality, always cooked to perfection, and the staff's service is second to none: they are friendly, attentive, caring, and always attentive to every detail. The establishment is also beautiful. It's clearly very well-maintained, with elegant and cozy decor that creates the perfect atmosphere for enjoying a good meal. It has become one of our favorite places, and we can't recommend it enough. Thank you for making each visit such a special experience!

Walked in at 3:45 with no booking. The staff were so friendly even though we don’t speak much Spanish. We tried 3 different steaks which were all delicious! The steak came with peppers and chips. Great desserts too, especially the basque cheesecake.

We had an amazing experience dining at this place. The staff was very friendly, had no trouble presenting the menu in english and made excellent recommendations. We can honestly say that it was one of the best meals we had, not just in Spain but in general (the steak was to die for). If we ever return to this region, we will definetely have to revisit this restaurant. Well worth the detour!

An awesome place, worth the visit

We really liked the food. It's not just a steakhouse, but a great restaurant: the squid was the best we tried on our trip, and the tomato with house-pickled tuna was enough to eat a loaf of bread dipped in the marinade emulsion. But it's true that the meats are on another level: the tartar is spectacular, and as for the machorra sirloin, there are no words, it's a must-try. I wasn't entirely impressed by the cheesecake, but that's just a matter of taste. The service was warm and very good. The only aspect of the experience that could have been improved was that we were seated on a covered terrace. Although the tables were well-dressed, it's not a very elegant place; I had other ideas. The noise level was also excessive at times. Not only because there were a few family groups with children and some overly energetic friends, but also because the sound resonated due to the lack of any insulation. That alone somewhat detracted from the overall experience, but I have no doubt they'll remedy the problem and that on my next trip to Cantabria I'll enjoy this excellent restaurant again.

I've visited this place several times, and it never fails. Very good products, good food, good atmosphere, and good service. One thing I have to say I don't like is the sales-oriented approach and attitude when offering the product. Regarding the price, it's a bit high, but you know what you're getting into. I'll go back.

The waitress that took the order was kind but she did not understand our order. We have order 3 plates both 1/2 raciones. We payed for 4 plates, one of them full racione. I would expect more professional care given the level of a place rated on the Michelin guide.
