Great MacDonald’s food. Hot. Well-cooked. I chatted with the manager. She was interesting and friendly. I appreciate how clean it was. I like their coffee.
Marie at McDonald’s truly went above and beyond for our family. We were there with our 1-year-old, and Marie made the experience so special. She took extra time to be kind and attentive, gave our baby multiple books to keep her entertained, and even surprised her with ice cream. It’s rare to meet someone who shows that level of genuine care and kindness, especially toward a little one. Marie turned a simple stop into a memorable experience for us, and we are so grateful. McDonald’s is lucky to have her!
This is definitely one of the best McDonald's I've been to! This is my 'home' McDonald's so I do go to it often and surprisingly its consistently fresh tasting. They are also consistently pretty fast, little wait. I am a traveling professional and ha been to a lot of McDonald's In New england and I am impressed with this location's Management team too. I feel they truly care and take pride in training and their work environment and cleanliness. Everyone there is also usually very friendly and kind. Thanks for being so awesome!
Counter person was super nice! She assisted my parents who can't figure out how to use the order screens. She even joked about her not understanding how to use them, which made them feel much better. The restaurant was very busy but exceptionally clean, including the kitchen area that you could see from the lobby.

This has to be one of the most famous McDonald’s in the world located at the end of the strip of the main street in Freeport. If you want to take a picture just cross the street that’s what most people do the reason it’s so famous is because it looks like it’s someone’s house. We usually use the drive-through and the orders have always been perfect. They have a large drive-through and plenty of parking it’s accessible and they have a bathroom. I’ve never waited in the drive-through more than a few minutes.
7 36 PM - July 20, 2025 --> I never leave reviews, but the staff here were absoloutley ON IT. Beyond everyone being super-friendly, and quick, the way the staff and managers were all communicating was really cool to see. Mangers, you guys were doing amazing. Only in Maine will you find a McDonald’s restaurant hidden in a colonial style house, serving a McLobster Roll. This McDonald's in Freeport, Maine, is famous for its unique setting in a historic colonial-style building. Located on Main Street, this McD’s was required to conform to the town's strict architectural standards to preserve its New England charm. The restaurant blends seamlessly with Freeport's quaint atmosphere, featuring clapboard siding and a classic facade. Inside, it functions as a typical McDonald’s, offering the standard menu, but the exterior is a rare sight for the fast-food chain. Word has it they no longer serve the McLobster here, but hopefully (depending upon who you ask) they bring it back next summer.
One of the most unique McDonald's you'll ever visit, borne out of the classist snobbery of the Freeport community that didn't want a kitschy McDonald's ruining the aesthetic of their upper crust community. And I agree with them! What they got was a renovated farmhouse with very little McD's signage. It's a cool place to visit.
We saw this place on our way to LL beans and literally took a double take! It just looks like a normal house, but a MacDonald, so cool! The inside is like a normal house too!! But no, they don’t sell lobster roll anymore. Still a cool experience though, we got a large fries, which is super fresh and a strawberry milkshake, normal McDonald foods.
First visit early May 2024 after 9 PM. Tables seemed to not be completely cleaned. Bathroom seemed decent. Food came out quickly. Kiosk seemed to take too long to get through all the screens.
This McDonald’s exceeded my expectations. As we were driving here, we almost missed the building because it does not look like your average McDonalds. Built inside an 1850s home, this McDonald’s had an ambiance that made me feel like I was having breakfast with Paul Revere himself. The restaurant was clean, and the workers were pleasant and welcoming. The music was liberatingly refreshing. Food was consistent as expected. Overall an enchanting New England experience. Would recommend.

This is the most beautiful McDonalds I've ever been in! It's located inside an old home that was renovated. The tables are 'real' tables, not plastic booth, etc. Worth stopping in just to see the decor.
Most unusual McDonald's I have ever been to. It's a historic house that was bought and turned into this restaurant 35 years ago. What a way to preserve the town but be modern. Not your usual dining room either... seperate rooms in the house with house like wooden dining room table and chairs. Staff is eager to tell you all about the Gore house and even has a large postcard size explanation with picture they give you. First McDonald's I ever been to that serves Lobster rolls. Would have driven right past this one with the beautiful landscaping around the house and the small logo sign if I hadn't Googled it.

Crazy how I pay $5.00 for a “large” smoothie and they can’t even fill it up all the way. We didn’t make a big deal about it because the lady seemed sad inside.. Just writing this for you as an establishment to maybe do better by at least having the drinks, etc. be fully filled. Like I get it it’s McDonald’s but would be nice to have a full smoothie for what I pay.
I'm attaching a screenshot of the customer service complaint I filed this morning. Every single business with a restroom says that "All employees MUST wash hands" so I cannot believe how casual the manager was about this clear health code violation.
Stopped by a the other day and got breakfast. Ordered a breakfast sandwich that was supposed to come with cheese and it did not. Had some free time to call him this morning and ask for a remake of the sandwich and they gave me a hard time about it saying that I would have to file a formal complaint with them. Which made absolutely no sense because that’s exactly what I was doing. If you like your order being made correctly and want good service after someone makes a mistake dont count on this location.
