Noodology in Irvine is amazing! The noodles are fresh, chewy, and full of flavor, and the broth is rich and comforting. The place is clean, the service is fast and friendly, and the food is always consistent. One of the best noodle spots in Irvine!

Tried the new Tomato Braised Beef Brisket Noodles—perfect for chilly nights! Their Beef Noodles and Dry Noodles are always a win, and the Spicy Mao Cai packs serious heat! 🔥 Don’t miss the fresh cold appetizers. Fast service, cozy vibes—definitely worth a visit!

Rule of thumb is that if a Chinese food place has four stars, it's better than a place that has five stars. I have yet to find another place that has the Guizhou Huaxi noodles, so I always come here for a nostalgic taste. The menu is navigable and the service does just enough (not too much). The noodles here are the real deal and the braised tofu is just *mwah*

Noodology specializes in.. you guessed it, noodles! This spot is particularly known for having noodles from different provinces in China. Their noodle soups are rich, flavorful, and super comforting. They also have some amazing spicy dishes like their Chengdu dumplings and their newest item, spicy beef with peanut which was super addicting! The restaurant itself is pretty spacious with inside and outside seating. You order through a QR code on the table and the friendly staff brings out the food for you.

As the sun went down, the weather turned chilly. The decor was unique and the food tasted very authentic. My mom ordered the signature beef brisket noodle soup, and the brisket was so tender and flavorful. I ordered the golden soup beef noodle soup. We also ordered a cold beef salad, which was delicious. Overall, we were very satisfied with our meal, and we'll definitely be back.

Extremely tasty noodle dishes - All noodle dishes we tried were really excellent. Also, the sticky rice dessert is super tasty! I agree with some of the other reviews that the staff could really try to be friendlier. However, who cares about that if the food and price are great?

Highly recommended! Their noodles are delicious, with both spicy and non-spicy options available. There’s a wide variety of side dishes to choose from, and their new chilled beef dish is absolutely tasty.

It's a Chinese restaurant specializes in Noodles from different province of China. The soup is flavorful. Our first time here and order Chengdu Beef Noodle soup and Chinese pickles beef noodle with chicken soup. They are flavorful and good portion for the price. Definitely will come back to try other selections.

It was the most delicious noddle I've ever eaten. When i realized I chose the wrong order, they brought a new one without charging a fee. Thank you very much, everything was great.

Super good!!! I've heard of this place here and there but finally got around to trying it. I came here with two Texans who are very not Asian, but they both loved it! It's definitely a good place for everyone, in my opinion. We ordered two things: #4 - Traditional beef noodles with Chinese pickle. I specifically requested no cilantro, but they gave me a soup with cilantro. When I brought this up to the waitress, she took the soup back to fix the mistake. I thought they would do kind of a best-effort removal of the cilantro, but I think they ended up remaking the entire dish. Either that, or they did a PHENOMENAL job removing them because I couldn't find a single trace of cilantro in the bowl she brought back. #6 - Beef noodles with green & red chili peppers. The two Texans shared this dish and they loved it. I think they were caught off guard with the spiciness, but they finished this it regardless and were very happy with their meal. Oh, also the portions are HUGE so maybe keep that in mind or find someone to share with.

Small noodle shop in Irvine with bold, spicy Taiwanese flavors that hit the spot. Everything we ordered had great texture and spice, and the portions were solid. Spicy Dumplings: Get Soft dumplings in chili oil that had a good kick and lots of flavor. Great way to start the meal. Dry Pork Noodles: Get Really comforting. Loved the mix of minced pork, scallions, and egg on top of springy noodles. Braised Beef Noodle Soup: Get Super flavorful and rich. Comes packed with meat, veggies, peanuts, and a broth that has heat and depth. The space inside is small but cute. Pretty casual and chill, though not ideal for big groups. Service was fast, nothing fancy. I'd definitely come back for another spicy noodle fix. Food: 8/10 Service: 6/10 Atmosphere: 7/10 Value: 6/10

We’ve visited Noodology several times. Overall, the food quality is still good and that’s the main reason we keep coming back. However, there are a few issues that make the experience less enjoyable. There is no menu anymore—everything is through a QR code. Personally, I find this inconvenient because the characters on the phone are too small, making it hard to order. I need to ask the staff to order the food for me. The restroom was not clean and had a noticeable smell. I hope the restaurant can improve by cleaning it more regularly.

Normally, I don’t eat noodles except PHO. My friend brought me here which was surprised me a lot. They use rice noodles, sliced beef, with the amazing spicy sour soup, i love it so much. As a simple meal, good to try.

Overall food and experience was good. Here's my dine-in experience: Once you arrive they ask if you are dining in or taking out. We dined in, so they asked us to sit and brought us a cup of water each. You then place your order using the QR code on the table and you wait for your food. You can notify them you are either ordering more or checking out using the same QR code. However, there was no option to order more water, nor was there anyone asking if we needed more water. I like the mostly contactless experience but given that most of the food here is spicey, they should at least leave out a water refilling station. 1 fairly clean unisex restroom was available as the other was out of service.

Had the Chengdu Braised Beef Noodle Soup; it was pretty good. I'm a fan of A&J's Beef Noodle Soup (been a customer of A&J's just down the street for 25 years) and this was a good substitute. About the same spicy level, but with peanuts. Would have loved the option to put pickeled mustard greens in (other noodles have that included) though.

've had this place bookmarked for a while. I happen to have some free time and I was in Irvine so I decided to check it out. I ordered the hot and sour noodle soup I believe is what it's called. Number 14 for sure. When I was getting my order taken it was kind of a language barrier I couldn't make out what he was saying and I don't think he understood me. When I got my food, the noodles weren't the glass noddles I was expecting and I didn't remember there being beef. Nonetheless I ate it. It was really good the flavor was good it had a good kick of spice without overpowering the broth. It reminds me of a Vietnamese Spicy Beef Noodle Soup (bun bo hue). Aside from the flavor being different there were a couple other things that the Vietnamese dish it is comparable to doesn't have. Bamboo and peanuts. Not just peanuts but roasted peanuts with the skin still on. Omg that was my favorite part! The portion is huge. The restaurant is clean. The staff was attentive to ensure my water was always full. Only thing that I had trouble with here was two people who were hard to understand when ordering my food and when they called me from the wait list. Not deal breakers. The beauty of being able point on the clipboard to ensure we're in the same page. I may have been a little upset since I got the wrong order but all an all I got the #4 the braised beef that was recommended in most reviews. I was between this one and what I was trying to order anyway. I definitely was not disappointed. I will be back to try other soups and their cold appetizers.

The name noodology give me more hype than what it actually is. The noodle is ok but the only option O see is rice noodle and egg noodle. I order a rice noodle and it come out just a dried rice noode that been rehydrate nothing special. The peanet are fried as a whole instead of crushed. Tatse in general is just ok, but nothing special. The cold dish is ok, nothing really spark of interest and. Did they taste bad? No, but they not taste excellent either. To me the kitchen just need some one who can assemble the ingredients and thats it. I expected more about the noodle, I expected more about the soup. But they are just ok.

We came at 8:40 (closed at 9), the waiter looked unhappy and reluctantly let us in. We ordered dry noodles, which had no taste at all. We added more sauce, still no taste! When we paid the bill, the waiter said we had to tip. This is the first time I have ever encountered such a situation! It's terrible! Will not come again next time! I think the owner has changed, it is completely different from before!

I rarely feel compelled to write a long review, but my experience at this restaurant was so frustrating and poorly handled that it deserves to be documented. What should have been a quick, simple grab-and-go meal turned into a stressful and chaotic situation entirely because of the way the staff and payment process were handled. To begin with, the checkout process was already a problem. When I went to pay, I was told that American Express was not accepted. That alone is not necessarily a deal-breaker, but it was never clearly communicated beforehand. There was no sign at the register, no notice on the menu, and no warning until after my order was already prepared. At that point, I was essentially put in a corner, scrambling to find another way to pay. A business should make accepted payment methods clear before customers commit to ordering — that’s basic professionalism. Things only got worse from there. Because of the confusion, I said I would pay first and then leave, just to move things along and avoid further issues. Instead of helping resolve the situation calmly, the staff became rigid and confrontational. The tone immediately shifted from customer service to control. I was told I had to add a tip of at least 15% in order to complete the transaction. There was no choice, no option to decline, and no explanation — just an enforced extra charge. For a sit-down restaurant with full service, tipping is customary. But for a grab-and-go order where there was minimal interaction beyond handing over food, forcing a 15% minimum tip feels excessive and inappropriate. A tip is supposed to reflect service, not be a mandatory surcharge disguised as generosity. When you remove the customer’s ability to choose, it stops being a tip and becomes a fee — and that is incredibly misleading. The most disappointing part of this whole experience, however, was the attitude of the employees. Instead of trying to de-escalate the situation or explain things clearly, they were dismissive, impatient, and frankly rude. Questions were met with eye-rolling and short, irritated responses. It felt like I was inconveniencing them simply by asking to pay for my food. No one should feel talked down to or pressured just for being a customer. By the time I finally completed the transaction, what should have taken less than a minute had turned into a stressful, chaotic ordeal. I left not only annoyed, but genuinely uncomfortable with how I had been treated. There was no apology, no effort to make things right — just an expectation that I should accept poor service, unclear policies, and forced charges without complaint. A restaurant can have great food, but if the service is this bad, it ruins the entire experience. Clear communication, respectful staff, and honest payment practices are not optional — they are the bare minimum. Unfortunately, this place failed on all three. I will not be returning, and I would caution others to be very careful before ordering here unless they are okay with hidden restrictions, mandatory tipping, and unfriendly treatment. This is edited after January 12 incident. It's January 13 today as after the owner spoke about my message this specific time was around 5:30 pm as I ordered a 三鲜面条。To take out since the incident of required to pay tips was listed above. If you want more details about the incident please message me back.

We decided to order some food from noodology for this weekend. Chengdu spicy beef noodles, non-spicy beef noodles, wonton chicken soup, popcorn chicken, scallion pancake beef rolls and dry shaved with beef ribs. I have to give very negative food taste for this restaurant. Beef rolls tasted like they used waste oil to make it, we did not even finished half of this order and decided to throw away. Dry shaved noodles with beef rib, the noodles tasted like smoky taste, can't tell how bad was it. Wontons were salty and seemed adding too much spices in it. I hope the owner see this message and taste those items, this is an honor suggestion. Thank you.
