Mi pastelería favorita de Madrid, no voy tanto como quisiera, pero tienen un control perfecto del nivel de azúcar. He probado todo. Las bases de las tartaletas llevan almendra y están siempre crujientes, los rellenos espectaculares, la de limón mi favorita. El lingote de chocolate con maracuyá tiene la mezcla perfecta de dulce y ácido. Las tartas están deliciosas, bizcochos húmedos con la densidad ideal, creo que me gustan todas, la que lleva queso y fresas frescas es especial. En la tatin de manzana ponen trocitos de ruibarbo que le da un toque muy elegante. La última sorpresa es el alfajor de chocolate con relleno de frambuesa, el concepto de alfajor argentino con dulce de leche, corazón de frambuesa y bañado en chocolate negro. El resto de productos que decir, el primer canelé que probé en Madrid fue aquí y son deliciosos. Además siempre me han tratado tan bien que me siento como en casa.
Supe de este sitio gracias a algunos vídeos de internet, y la verdad fue una sorpresa. Desde que entramos el servicio muy amable. Los chicos te limpian la mesa y resuelven tus dudas con la pastelería sin problema. Todo tiene muy buena pinta, y se ve cuidado y preparado con mimo. El local tiene el encanto de los sitios pequeños de barrio, pero está muy limpio. El café no necesita nada, es de los sabrosos por naturaleza, y a mi chico le encantó su té. Es verdad que la tarta de queso estaba muy cremosa y la galleta le daba un gran punto, aunque está en la línea de la de muchos sitios. ¿Pero la galleta? Nos enamoró a los dos. Me quedo con muchas ganas de volver a Madrid para probar muchas de las cosillas que tenían en la vitrina.
Pastelería estupenda. Tartas artesanales hechas con mimo y muy conseguidas. Especialmente la de limón. El local es pequeño, con encanto, y situado en una calle preciosa de Madrid. Ideal para pasear. El café también está bueno. Lo mejor el sabor alcanzado de la repostería.
Mi primera vez aquí y no será la última! Sitio muy agradable, el servicio es atento y amable, y las tartas…. La mejor tarta de zanahoria que he comido en mi vida. También me llevé un tarte au citron - espectacular.
De las mejores pastelerías de la zona, el café muy rico, y los postres increíbles, nos atendió Desire y eso nos obliga a dejar 5🌟 atención super top! El espacio está super cool y muy limpio todo. Excepcional 🔝
Qué joya de lugar. Su calidez me llamó desde la calle y no me resistí a entrar para conocerlo. “Ya volveré otro día”, pensé. Pero la amabilidad, el olor de la bollería recién horneada, y la buena vibra del lugar me invitaron a quedarme. La galleta con pistacho, chocolate blanco y fresa me hizo sentirme privilegiado por la vida. 😇 El café, delicioso. Es sucursal de su tienda original en Francia. Ya quiero ir a conocerlo. 25-11-2025 Pastelería artesanal y cafetería con unos dulces excepcionales, riquísimos. Suele hacer falta esperar porque el sitio es pequeño, pero merece la pena para probar sus tartas y dulces. Igual resulta un poco caro, pero no encuentras pastelerías así de buenas fácilmente en Madrid.
La pastelería Motteau me ha hecho volver, hace algunos días compré por primera vez para llevarle a una amiga de regalo y le han fascinado por lo que tuve que volver. Está pequeña pero cuidada pastelería ofrece una experiencia deliciosa en todos los sentidos. El pecan pie al que ellos le llaman barrita pecan y la pavlova fueron los grandes ganadores del día: sabores exquisitos, balanceados y una combinación de texturas perfectamente equilibradas. Se nota el mimo y la calidad en cada bocado. Pudimos ver al pastelero haciendo los Lemon Pies y lo hacía con cariño se ve el amor que ponía en cada gota de merengue con la que coronaba la mezcla de limón. El personal es muy amable, atento sin ser invasivo, y el local es precioso, acogedor y lleno de encanto. Un lugar al que sin duda volveré.
Demasiado Bueno! las cremas de sus tortas son 10/10. El café puede mejorar, sin embargo aun así vale la pena ir si estás en Madrid.
Soy fan de la carrot cake y como la de Motteau no vas a encontrar otra! Así que la super recomiendo, así como tb la de Fresa y pistachos! En próximos viajes seguiré probando otras!
Pedimos la tarta de zanahoria y la de chocolate con almendra y estaban las dos muy ricas. Se nota que son caseras. Eso sí llenan mucho y recomiendo compartirlas. Hacia tiempo que no iba y han ampliado el local, lo que lo hace aún más cómodo. Los dos chicos que nos atendieron muy amables pese a llegar cerca de la hora del cierre.Muchas gracias! Repetiremos!
Descubrí esta pastelería a finales del 2020 y desde entonces se ha convertido en una de mis favoritas. Se nota la calidad de los ingredientes y el buen gusto en la elaboración de los postres. Os recomiendo la mini pavlova y la tarta de almendra con fresas y pistacho
Descubrimos Motteau en el encantador Barrio de Las Letras y fue todo un acierto. Pedimos un café, una barra de nueces pecán que estaba espectacular y una pavlova deliciosa. Cada bocado tenía una textura y sabor que denotaban la calidad de los ingredientes y el cuidado en la elaboración. El local, de estilo vintage y con un obrador a la vista, es acogedor y transmite una atmósfera tranquila y agradable. Sin duda, un lugar para repetir y disfrutar de la auténtica repostería artesanal en Madrid.
ESPECTACULAR 😍! Me he comido una de las mejores tartaletas de limón que he probado en mi vida, el sitio es precioso y en una zona fantástica, el trato impecable y no sabía qué elegir de todo lo que tenían, es todo casero, lo hacen allí, desde luego repetiré, mas que recomendable!
Hacía tiempo que no caminaba por la hermosa zona de las letras en Madrid y al estar este domingo de sol, recordé a Motteau Bakery, donde he degustado la mejor pastelería de Madrid. Me lleve la sorpresa de que ampliaron el local, han triplicado la cantidad de mesas, lo que ha sido una muy grata sorpresa. Tienen mesas con pequeñas lámpara led doradas, para 2 y 3 personas, 2 bancos comunitarios y siguen conservando mi mesa favorita, la que está pegada al obrador donde se puede apreciar como preparan los productos del día, y maravillarse con el orden y limpieza del lugar. Sirven en vajilla de porcelana antigua de piezas únicas, donde prácticamente ningún plato y taza son iguales, lo que le da un toque exclusivo. La ambientación es muy parisina, donde predomina el gris pastel y el amarillo, un combinación muy relajante y elegante a la vez. En esta ocasión con el café hemos pedido los clásicos canelé y un budín de limón. En cuanto a la pastelería, no dejar de probar la tarta de crema pastelera con arándanos y almendras, la tarta red velvet y los increíbles alfajores de maicena. El personal es muy atento, son muy simpáticos y cuentan con un lindo uniforme acorde al lugar. Visita imperdible en la zona !!!!
Sitio coqueto en el Barrio de las Letras. Estuvimos merendando. Ofrecen una selección de bebidas calientes e infusiones, que puedes pedir en versión fría. Toda la pastelería tenía muy buen aspecto; finalmente pedí el bizcocho con caramelo y plátano y estaba delicioso. Los chicos son encantadores. El local tiene pocas mesas y dispone de ventiladores en vez de aire acondicionado.
Un lugar precioso. Son super amables y nos explicaron casi toda la carta de tartas. La tarta era exquisita, nada empalagosa, dulce justo y mucho sabor. Si ellos mismos hicieran café de especialidad, seria el no va más. Un lugar para ir y volver, sin duda. En pleno centro, zona de paseo preciosa y de merienda o desayuno.
Auténtica pastelería francesa en Madrid. Pequeña pero muy acogedora y elegante. Hacen unos pasteles exquisitos, el café ☕️ está delicioso y tienen muy buena atención, me maravilló ir subiendo por la calle del gobernador y casi llegando a la esquina con San Pedro ya se podía percibir el delicioso aroma a pasteles recién horneados. Os recomiendo que probéis la carrot cake una de las mejores que he probado en años. Eso si, id con tiempo por que hay poquito espacio y hay que esperar para sentarse, pero en todo caso te lo puedes llevar. Ahhh y aceptan encargos.

Motteau is a lovely place in Madrid! The pastries are delicate, beautifully crafted, and absolutely delicious. The staff is warm and welcoming, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. A perfect spot for a sweet treat and coffee in the heart of the city!
Amazing. Quiet little place, hidden in the alleys. We had a pistachio tart and the almond cheesecake and both were delicious. I can’t recommend this place enough. 5 stars and will return for sure
A delightful historic pastry shop and cafe in a beautiful corner new Caixa Forum and Museum Thyssen-Bornemisa. Fabulous pastries made in house, fresh and delicious. The cortado was perfect. They have decaf coffee and oat milk.
I loveeedddddd the banana bread with a caramel drizzle on top! It was devine! I’m so happy that I finally found the best banana bread in Madrid!!!! Can’t wait to come back for more and to try the cakes!

Love this place! This is the most delicious dulces place in Madrid! Every time I take different desserts and every time impressed of taste. Carrot cake was so suave, melting in my mouth. Pavlova is the best flavor. I highly recommend this place if you wanna unforgettable experience 🤍

There's no need to visit Paris for pastries. After all, Parisians aren't always so friendly! Instead visit this amazing pastry shop. Classic French pastries like canelé, croissant, financier, lemon tart, etc. And then they have some classics with twists like added dulce de leche. The shop has expanded since my last visit so there's more tables. And if you're indeed French, I think the owner speaks French,..and English, Spanish,... I've been going to Motteau for years and it's consistently superb.
Delightful little cafe. Stumbled upon it on a walk and liked it so much, came back the next day! Great service and a beautiful selection of homemade pastries and cakes. Loved everything we tried, especially the almond cake with strawberries and pistachios.
What a gem! The best desserts I've ever had. Cinnamon swirl is to die for. So light and fluffy and juicy. Absolute perfection. Been coming here everyday since the discovery of this place.
My family and I came here twice during our stay in Madrid and we’d love to come back if we could! It serves some of the best desserts we have had. We waited for a table the first time, and got a few cakes for take away for the second time. Both times, the service and cakes have been excellent. It’s a very cosy cafe that is inviting and warm, and has a lovely selection of desserts. 10/10 would recommend!
We two stopped by for coffee and cake before visiting the nearby Prado Museum. Excellent experience and great food. FOOD: 4.5 - Mango Cheesecake: 4.5. - Apple pie: 4.5 - Espresso: 4.5 (not sour) SERVICE: 5.0. Very considerate and focused on us as customers, though we spoke no Spanish. We felt appreciated. AMBIANCE: 4.0. About three tables inside and a bench on narrow street outside. We had our cake and coffee on the outside bench. Pleasant.
Greatest little spot for sweets in Madrid. These people know how to make desserts. I have tried just about everything here and you wont be disappointed. My favorite are the strawberry pistachio and almond cake, tartaleta de berries and the carrot cake. But like i said, all the others desserts and amazing too. This is a cute family cafe, with a few tables, not far from Prado. Charming atmosphere and the best red velvet I ever tried. Pastries are exceptionally fresh since they are cooked just in place.

If you want diabetes, this is the place to be ! The lemon pie was overly sweet, the Italian meringue could have stuck bricks together and the wall would have held. We asked for not too sweet pastries, we were not disappointed by the sugar bomb! Overall the base of the tart was good and the curd was extremely buttery and a bit tasteless. The tart does look good but I would no recommend. Person at the cashier was nice, but it is hard to get a smile there. 6€ is a bit pricey, there are bakeries that do a way better job for the same price. Also, and even more so if your kitchen is visible to the public, please clean the walls, they were absolutely not maintained properly, with yellow and brown marks.
Parece que no les gustan los niños en esta cafetería. Nos han dicho de muy malos modos que el dueño no permitía que nos sentáramos 4 juntos en las mesas que había. El local estaba medio vacío. Por más opciones que les hemos dado ha sido imposible: “Tenemos cámaras y nos ve nuestro jefe por ellas y no nos permite sentaros”. Es increíble querer pasar una tarde agradable merendando y que el resultado sea que te traten tan mal. Es el típico sitio para turistas en el que los vecinos de la zona no somos bienvenidos.
