I want to start by saying I read the reviews, and most of the negative reviews are for the old restaurant, Relish. My husband and I are new to Middletown and ate here for lunch a few weeks ago, so I’m a little late on the review. We went almost as soon as they opened and arrived just before noon. We were greeted warmly and told we could seat ourselves (not sure if that’s always the case). The staff was very friendly and attentive. We ordered the fried chicken steam buns as an appetizer, and they were delicious. My husband ordered the spicy crispy chicken, and I ordered the panko parm crusted cod. My husband said his sandwich was one of the best he’s ever had, and the cod was incredible (cooked perfectly). The mashed potatoes and veggies it came with were delicious. We will definitely be making this a regular spot for dining out. Do yourself a favor and check this place out, especially if you had a less than satisfying experience while this location was Relish. Amazing experience. The ambiance is lovely— classy and intimate. The two owners are so kind and outgoing; they’re very sweet people. Last, but DEFINITELY NOT LEAST— the food… oh my goodness was it good!!! I ordered the vodka rigatoni. Definitely will be coming back whenever I am in town. If I could rate higher, I would! We had Sol House Tavern for the first time tonight and I have to say that I’m very impressed with the food and the staff. We ordered out but we both got the Sol House burger with fries and it was amazing. The chef in the kitchen was very respectful and seemed to take pride in his cooking skills. We also got the house made ranch which was really good and went well with both the burgers and the fries. It’s a great little place for a date night and has a calm atmosphere. 10/10 will be going back and I’m very pleased with the overall experience

Such amazing food and great service! I had the chicken sandwich and it was one of the best I’ve ever had. The portions were excellent. Also got the strawberry crepe cake and was blown away by how good it was. Mocktails were phenomenal. It’s a very chill environment, perfect for a casual dinner date night. Very clean too! We’re looking forward to returning! Thanks for a wonderful experience

The food is incredible! Stopped in and had the soup special...tomato and red pepper...and the most magical mussels in a bourbon cream sauce...the staff was sweet and attentive. They are still waiting on their liquor license, but we'll be headed back for a craft cocktail and full dinner shortly!

Saw this restaurant online, me and my girlfriend came to try it out since we live so close. Gave it a hard honest test and ordered foods we are very particular about. Both of our entrees and our appetizers were amazing, the staff were very friendly and welcoming. They also gave us a free dessert on the house which was also very good, 10/10 definitely coming back and hope to become regulars

They just opened, and even though the place was empty, the vibe filled the space. Wonderful, employees, fabulous music, fabulous ambience, and the food was incredible.. 10 out of 10. You’ve got to support them. This is a cozy little Neighborhood place that warrants several visits! !

We stopped in for a quick appetizer and lunch and immediately fell in love with the staff and delicious food! Their Fried Chicken Steam Buns and Vodka Rigatoni were fabulous. Sol House had the patriots game on their TV, which made the beautiful atmosphere even better on the snowy day we came here on. Their mocktails are to die for! Looking forward to seeing what new entrees and menu items Sol House will have in the future!

Had a great dinner at the new Sol House Tavernon Newfield in Middletown recently. The staff was super friendly and greeted us warmly. The new owner and chef came to our table and welcomed us to the newly reopened restaurant. Here is what our group ordered; Fried Chicken Steam Buns; as unique as they are awesome, so tasty, so many flavors marrying well together. Classic Burger: cooked perfectly, ordered it rare, and it came rare, nice and juicy. Panko Crusted Cod; lightly seasoned, the texture was firm and meaty, the mashed potatoes were delicious. Spicy Fried Chicken sandwich; really crunchy, nicely spiced, on a toasted brioche bun. MacCrack: Mac n Cheese with a crunchy topping, did not disappoint. Dessert, Srawberry cream layered crepes cake. Beautiful to look at, light and delectable to eat. Everything was presented beautifully too.The fries come in little decorative fry baskets. Mac n cheese was in a hot cast iron pan on a wooden charger. Some of our meals were on square wooden trays, others on white china. It all worked. We will definitely be going back.

Staff was super friendly and the food was fantastic. It was our first time there for all 4 of us. Everything on the menu sounded great so it was hard to pick. I got the steak sandwich and it was great. My son got the PO boy sandwich and said it was great. Shrimp and grits was another meal and salmon was the last. Everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly. We all enjoyed the time together there. It was a late lunch on Father's Day.

We decided to try a new local spot. I ordered a salad with grilled chicken and my husband ordered a burger, nothing exciting. I had asked for no goat cheese, as it’s something I don’t prefer. We got home with the order and my salad had goat cheese crumbles (which are not easy to pic out). I called and they were apologetic and quickly offered to make a new one. My husband went back to pick it up. Upon his return we opened our food to eat. The chicken was chicken thigh. I have NEVER been given chicken thigh when ordering grilled chicken as protein on a salad, nor do I eat chicken thigh, nor was it specified that it was chicken thigh. Needless to say that was a waste of $7 because it went in the garbage. My husband’s burger was ordered as medium well and was way undercooked (very red). Fries were ok… fresh, but pretty salty. We also ordered the buffalo cauliflower app, which no real complaints about but wasn’t anything special.
