Food was hot and ready in minutes. And they leave your table alone so you can enjoy your meal in peace. NO PRESSURE. Which probably comes from not having to turn over the table so quickly to bring in the next people. Which is mostly due to the self service, I believe. Nobody to hurry you up for the next tip at that table might have something to do with it. AND THATS GREAT IF YOUR A PATRON. Their 'Endless Sips', is the best deal around.

Josh is the best manager. There was a mistake in my order and not only did he refund me, give me a new meal and a ton of pastries, but he called me personally to make sure everything was right. He was extremely nice and did everything he could to help me. He is an awesome manager and I see him going far.

I've been here many times and the food and service are always good. This time though, I placed an order online for rapid pickup. Right as I was getting there, my 11 month old started crying and I was in a panic about how I was going to find parking, appease my baby, take her out of the carseat to go inside and get our food, strap her back into the carseat without getting her more upset, etc. So I called and one of the employees brought it out to the car. What service!

My experience here was nice. The people working here seem to be happy. The food was just like every other Panera Bread. But I have to say, the espresso was actually surprisingly really good. I recommend it!

I have been dreaming about going to a Panera for a long time. To be there was a dream come true, everything and more there is so much to choose from the drinks alone are a massive variety the food is generous for a fraction of a price to pay. You will be pleased and full.

Customer service was awesome, especially since they have so much to choose from. They created an outdoor dining area which is nice but could use a little more consistent clean up. (also would help if the employees spent just a little more time disinfecting chairs ;-)

This is a pretty standard Panera and I always order ahead and I just walk in easy. Parking is usually busy but I always find a spot. I’ve come here about 12 times and I think they greeted me when I walked in twice. Not a big deal but when I was greeted for the first time after being ignored over half a dozen times I did say thank you to the person working in a genuine way because it did make me feel better about going here. To be fair pretty much every single Panera bread I’ve ever been to all the staff looks absolutely miserable working so I get it, I wouldn’t want to work there either. However to be fair when I did ask questions they were always really nice.

This has nothing to do with the food at Panera, which I do enjoy. I come here frequently to get a coffee and pound away at my computer. Lately I can't help but notice the management of this particular location. She has a tough job. I know, because I own a business with 3 locations. This manager (I don't know her name), handles staff, customers, and the general operation of her location with efficiency and a smile. The employees seem happy, and she clearly has instilled in them that she is willing to dive in and work right along side them to keep the Panera Machine running smoothly.....And she seems to enjoy the challenge. She is excellent.

I work in the Panera Bread on my computer for two hours or so every day. Today I dropped my bank bag somehow outside.. thankfully the manager found it and put it in the safe and I discovered it missing 2 1/2 hours later came back, mentioned it to the front counter and they went and got it out of the safe and everything was there, cash, credit cards, everything was inside! I just wanted to say thank you and let everybody know what a wonderful place this is.

Since my purchase this morning involved MyPanara reward, I didn't think I could buy through the kiosk. The one gal running to & fro behind the counter (named Faith) was from the catering team, obviously getting a big order ready to take out on a delivery, but she still took the time to get me my bagel, coffee cup & rang me up with a smile. She even took a few minutes to engage in a friendly conversation. What a good person to have represent Panera this morning.

I've never had a bad meal, no matter where I am. Everything is fresh, hot, tasty. All Panera Bread locations are always full and some even have a wait list. Always clean and everyone professional and friendly. Handicapped accessible and plenty of parking.

Panera Bread really has perfected the concept of fast-casual, with very high quality offerings-but perhaps more meaningful is creating the relaxing ambiance. The restaurant decor is warm and inviting-and the carpeted floors absorb sound and further add to an upscale feel. Lots of dining space and the occasional sofa chairs with an end table— are thoughtful touches. Love you all at Panera, rock on!

I love this panera location, its hard to go to any other one except Otay Mesa. I just think this panera has better quality and flavor in their drinks and food. Other locations can be bland or taste weird but Not Clairemont. Thank you everyone for all your hardwork

The place is well located next to Tesla Supercharger, quit, clean bathrooms, the sun doesn't hit on the seating area, with outside seating with excellent shade. My order transporden didn't work so I was just seating there wating until my toasted bagel got cold, the employee didn't seem he cared!!

Love the service here. The quality of food is consistent from store to store, but the service here is extraordinary! I was greeted by at least 3 people as soon as I walked in. The onduty store manager today greeted me with the biggest smile that just brightened up my day! What else could i ask for at 830 in the morning? The cashier with black frame glasses was also very helpful and friendly! (Sorry my vision is pretty bad and unfortunately I could not read the name tags) The food - I ordered to go Chipotle chicken avocardo melt, a cinnamon roll, and a chicken brioche with overeasy egg. Sadly, my egg was destroyed by the time I got home. The Chipotle chicken avocardo melt was amazing! Overall, a good experience!

Great location with plenty of parking. The food was good and the service friendly. There's construction going on next door, so a little noisy on a weekday. Hopefully it'll end soon. A great neighborhood place.

I needed to bring in lunch for 10 people for one of my clients and the Panera I went to first said it would take 2.5 hours to get this done, I called the Balboa Ave Panera and Michael Turner in catering said he would be able to complete the order by the time I needed. He was professional, courteous, and could not have been more helpful. My order was done earlier than I had originally asked for and was prepared beautifully. Having people like Michael provides an incredible benefit to both the business and its customers. I will be utilizing this location for all of my client lunches in the area based on my experience with Michael.

Stopped by just to pick up some drinks. They have both kiosks to order and in person ordering. This location does not have a drive thru but does offer both inside and outside seating options. The resturant when I was there was clean and we'll stocked at the various drink and utensils stations. My interactions with staff were pleasant and they were helpful. If you're in the area, i'm looking for something quick, definitely worth a stop.

I popped by this panera as I was driving somewhere else and this is my new favorite Panera. Charles, the cashier, was very friendly, personable and attentive and all the rest of the staff was very alert to all their customers' needs, constantly clearing the tables and announcing my name when my food was ready even though I was also assigned a number. The best Hazelnut coffee offered all year round! Great staff that are taking precautions for out comfort and patrolling the social distancing st tables. They walk around and offer refills! The savory soufflesin the morning are a royal treat! No preservatives or artificial colors in menu items.

Ordered a delivered lunch for our office. They nicely boxed up our lunches. Disappointed that they didn't ask nor included butter for our bread- was dry and hard. Sandwiches were good. Salads a little limp because I think they put everything together a head of time. It was delivered on time so I was happy about that.Nice service to deliver lunch for our meeting.

The food was good enough with plenty of options, but they fell short when it came to following through with their pickup instructions for mobile app orders. I was supposed to pick up my order from the rapid pick up area, but I guess they were so busy that they didn't have time to get our order to the p/u holding area... So we sat there for quite a while after our order was supposed to be ready while it was sitting on top of the kitchen's finished order counter, waiting for some employee to take it to the proper pickup area. I finally got curious and went over to the kitchen counter and saw that my order had been sitting there the whole time.

I love their soup. Kids soup is not available on their ordering menu and also not on the self ordering kiosk. Would be nice if there could be representative present at front desk for quick ordering. Overall I see a good quality food and will be visiting again.

If you want a wholesome hearty lunch then this is the place for you. Their breads are very good and they have pretty good bagels too. Their soups are terrific and they bread bowl soups as well. Children like their stuff because its just plain food, not spicy and you recognize WHAT it is. My grand niece and nephew really enjoy eating here.

Got my favorite Autumn lunch.... Turkey/apple sandwich on cranberry bread + Autumn squash soup. Balboa store is always friendly and food good. Get it right if I act like a Sally. Super busy, but cleared a table so I could sit.... Just wish the artichoke souffle wasn't so difficult to time it so I'm there when they're available.

The bear claw is an awesome pastry for breakfast or even desert and goes well with the hazelnut self-serve coffee. Their blueberry or chocolate bagels are also good. I get the full salads or the half soup and sandwich for lunch. I like this location the best because the staff is nice and friendly.

I ordered their Scrambled Bacon Souffle!! It was scrumptious 🔥 however, due to its rich flavor I had my fill after 4 bites. My son on the other hand, ordered their Italian Steak & Mozzarella (fresh spinach, steak carvings w/ melty cheese) as a duet combo (1/2 sandwich + side of choice) choosing their kettle chips. Clearly, he ate every bit of it 👍🏻 Our total was $21 (w/ 1$ tip included).

Excellent fast and friendly service! The Asiago Cheese Bagels are very good. Update: Got a Ciabatta Cheese steak with Double Steak, Chipotle Aioli, extra Tomatoes, extra Zesty Sweet Peppers, extra Roasted Corn, and fresh Basil. It was excellent! The steak was tender and lean, and the toppings were fresh. The prices are high, but the quality remains very good.

Understaffed location. Tables were dirty and messy. Food was okay. Ordered a broccoli cheddar soup in a bread bowl. VERY little soup to bread ratio. You are better off getting the soup with no bowl. Their drink club is a great deal if you live near one. Plenty of options for membership fee.

The place is nice and clean. Most of the time is has bread bowls, but tonight it didn't. The big thing though, and it keeps happening, the soup is so cold. It shouldn't be that hard to heat soup, but this place can't seem to go beyond Luke-warm. Otherwise the soups are tasty, the breads are fresh, the flavored lemonaids and teas are refreshing. Just sad about the soup. And it's what I come for. Which makes it doubly sad.

Good selection of bread, pastries, salads, soups, and sandwiches. ETA: Initial 4* review was a year ago. I dropped them 1 star today because my online curbside pickup order has been incomplete on 3 separate occasions within the past 2 months. (Mind you, they have been large orders, and I was usually able to catch the missing item at pickup. Once was a soup. Another was a pastry. Today, it was a sandwhich.) I still like their food, but double-check your bag to make sure you have everything.

I used to really love eating at Panera and I know their salads are still really good but I feel like the quality and quantity has gone down a bit. My last couple of encounters have not been satisfactory. The coffee was old, the chicken in the salad tasted was processed, the soup tasted salty and from a can and the portions were small. This used to be a real fun to go to place but I’d prefer to skip it unless I’m getting bakery goods. They are still awesome!

Love this place! Great food, great coffee and great staff. EDIT: Well, my wife & i went for a light dinner around 4 pm tonight. This place has new management or somethinh. Almost no bread left and the pastry was near empty. The... Person that was at the counter was bored or something. Totally uninterested in us. The chicken noodle soup was too salty to eat but my veggie sandwich was quite good. I doubt we will ever be back there.

Healthy chain of down-home restaurants serving good food. Nothing outstanding here but they do a good job of getting you the food in a timely manner and seem to be busy all the time. Lots of parking makes their locations easy to have a good lunch or dinner.

Its a decent place. I dont like that you have to spread your own cream cheese. I can just do that at home if i wanted. The stars are more for the friendly staff and atmosphere. They are great! I have had their salads those are pretty good.

If you don't get here by 9am they will be out of most of the bagels. That's any day of the week. Can't you make extra? For as much as you charge it shouldn't be a big deal if you had to donate some leftovers at the end of the day. It would be nice to come in around 11am and be still able to get the bagels I wanted

I would like to give a shout out that staff were friendly and happy to be helpful, first. We used a self serve order placement kiosk. It was weird at the end, after paying because we didn’t receive a receipt. There were the little reservation beeper things that light up when your order is ready but none of them were offered or used for our order for some reason. We didn’t see anyone else but one person using one of them. We had to ask if our order actually went through. It did. The wait was not long. The seating area was a little messy. Things had not been cleaned up. Don’t know if someone must’ve left right before we sat down but it was a little unorganized. Not terrible. Not disgusting or too off putting. We had indicated on our order that we would like utensils but they did not come in our bag and I had to go ask for some. They were quick to grab them. The food was great! I had a spicy chicken sandwich and my partner had something with avocado in it. We both enjoyed them. We are just very healthy eaters and found the bread to be excessive. Ordered a vanilla latte. We are not used to too much sweetness and use milk alternatives mostly. We added almond milk. We didn’t think to ask for less sweetness in our drink and were not pleased with how sweet it was but the caffeine was welcomed. I guess the majority of people prefer things to be on the sweeter side anyways so our more developed palettes would be set up to be sorely disappointed by the majority of most food options in mainstream food service businesses. We had a gift card for Panera that needed to be used. Probably wouldn’t have thought to eat anywhere with less than organic fair trade options and less sugar, salt, fat, calories, msg, food coloring… etc. however, if we had a gift card and were in the area again I would return. I just wouldn’t spend my own money and go out of my way to eat there necessarily. If it was a choice between some other options, we would highly consider this place again.

This is a good place with a good menu for a hearty meal. They have something that would be able to satisfy everyone from adults to kids. The sandwiches and salads would be my top option, but the soups play nice to make a hearty meal. They have a lot of items that are vegetable friendly. It can get a little pricey for a quick bite.

I really love Panera... I mean REALLY. This is the location closest to my home, I've been here about once per month in the last six months and each time there had been an issue. Sometimes it's a rude manager, others the food is wrong. Today was no different. I get the same order, a pick two with creamy tomato and a steak and white cheddar panini, no onion. I was really disappointed with my sandwich. I was a restaurant manager for 7 years so I understand food cost and I get that labor is an issue, but something needed to be said. After being evaded by a manager twice I finally walked straight up and showed him my sandwich. It was begrudgingly replaced but I will consider carefully before returning. It seems to be a sad experience, especially after paying $27 for 2 cups of soup and two half sandwiches.

I ordered curbside pickup and no one came outside to deliver the items I had ordered. I went inside after 15 minutes to get my coffee and croissant. I ordered a hot coffee and the coffee was cold and old. I enjoy Panera bread’s coffee, but I would not go to this location again.

The seating area was full of dishes, the cashier did not ask what I wanted for a side nor inform me that they were preparing everything to-go at the moment. I got a grilled cheese and tomato soup and was a disappointed. The soup was good but I was expecting more from the grilled cheese as it was looked sloppily made and only had American cheese (I was expecting a good cheese blend or something).

Usually Panera is really good but this one not so much. This chicken salad has almost no chicken and only covers half the sandwich. Been here a couple times now and either the service is lacking or the food. Find somewhere else that’s close by or go to a different Panera.

Drinks suck service sucks. The place is dirty there are crumbs and plates and food all over the counters where you order food I don't know how it got that bad. The bathrooms are nasty why is the urinal like touching the ground the drink counter is nasty with sticky stuff and straws and lids everywhere i wouldn't mind the cup lids and straws but why is the counter like glue...

OK, I don't want to sound nasty, but I would go a lot to The Panera on Auto Parkway in Escondido as I lived near there. They were never out of items, very busy but I could order anything on the menu. Your location is always out of either sauces or bagels, your systems were down today. This is embarrassing for me as I am not trying to get free food, especially when you don't have any of the bakery or menu items.

Visited this Panera after an appointment on crutches. Service was non-existent, staff members didn't offer to help carry order to my seat. Even after seeing me struggle with carrying the plate. The food was average, but the restaurant is covered in crumbs and hair. Needed to clean my table before finding a seat. Overall very disappointed, as I've had great experiences in other locations. However, the apathy was clear for all to see.

Panera has been disappointing to me since conception. We went there again last week and I ordered the large bowl of broccoli cheddar soup that was half filled. I went up and asked one of the staff since they don’t have servers why?? They showed me the small bowl and I said you could have fit what I received in that. He argued with me, I said here is my large go ahead and pour it into the small bowl and I’ll bet you it fits with room to spare. He wouldn’t do it. To stand in line and order then pick up your order and bring it to your table which are usually filthy and then want to be tipped. I’m done, to many other places to eat where you are treated right. Sorry to vent on and on. 😂

I arrived at Panera at 5.30 on Sunday evening. As I opened the door, a woman inside pulled it back inside. I was pulling it out, she was pulling it in. Finally, I opened the door. She told me they were closed. When I asked why, she said they had made enough money for the day and were closing for the holiday. A few more people came after me and tried to open the door. We were all left outside. Cause Google still shows they're open until 9, so I drove here, but now I have to go to Mission Valley. This is ridiculous 😅

Every single time I order here I get home and something is missing. I love their food, but they really need to step it up on checking orders. I am not talking 1 or 2 times I am talking over 10 orders within a year there has not been 1 not even 1 time where everything was in there.

Bad bad bad its just getting worse 18.00 dollars spent on garbage. I went there to get a salad. Didn't realize they did not have any lettuce due to supply chain issues until I got up to the register after looking at the above Large menu to order while I standing in line. The guy at the register just shook his head after I told him what I wanted to order. I guess I'm supposed to know what he meant then he pointed at the small sign below and it said because of supply chain issues they had no salads available. EXUSE me I would have liked to have known this prior to looking at your menu above maybe have it whited out or a notice in the salad menu that there isen't any...salad or a notice on the front door or a sign w/ a stand stating this. Nothing..It says nothing of the sort on their website EITHER! he talked me into ordering an 18.00 bowl of garbage the Chicken Baja Bowl terrible ...I could have went to Rubios there was barely any chicken in it. What a waste and a total disappointment I plan on bringing it make for a FULL refund.

I waited too long till I give this review, it had been multiple times with bad experience . Every time I would say it might be just this time, but that’s it!!! Many mistakes on the order Cashiers doesn’t listen carefully for the order, add or remove stuff wrongly Preparing wise always missing something!! Cold soup When I add for extra charge they barely put that thing on the salad!!! With this staff nowadays, never recommended!!

I used to like Panera, but after the last couple of visits I'm having a hard time remembering why. Their weird layout--ordering from one very slow line, then wandering to the back to try to find your order. Their inability to toast a bagel without turning it into a charred cracker. The coffee that is lukewarm. Basically, I paid 7 bucks for a root beer, which I put in my cup after I dumped the coffee. Was not going to stand in line again to complain. I only came here today because it was close. I'll drive a little farther next time.

I just joined and paid for the drinks rewards, when I went in they didn't have any coffee I was going to ask the gal/person for something and she just put her finger up as to say wait. When she was doing something on her phone could be taking an order I don't know. The counter was a mess! plates and crumbs everywhe. I decided to get a lemonade but it just tastes like water. Won't be coming back

Went to Panera on Balboa in San Diego. Looked up the menu prior and the cinnamon rolls were listed at 8.99. Went and ordered and included the cinnamon rolls. No where in the store was the price listed. When I looked at the receipt I was charged 13.99. I called them in it and they said that every store has a different price. Just think if there is a discrepancy there should be a orice range and if different than their website, the prices should be posted. The service was confused. The girl behind the cash register was fiddling with things. There were a couple of women in front standing. The line was getting long. Finally, someone yelled is anyone going to order. The two woman realized they were standing in the line. The cashier never asked anyone to order. We finally placed our order. Then when we got to the car we realized we didn’t have our cinnamon rolls. Went back in and had to get into line once again. They acted like it was our fault. The cashier was suppose to give us our rolls. I appreciate people when they work hard. But honestly the cashier was standing idle for over a minute unaware of what was going on around her. Normally I tip a hefty tip for the workers, but today I was totally frustrated! Will not go back to this location ever again.

Bagels are not cooked on site, and are often pretty stale. When they are fresh they are quite good, but that's only happened once out of the 10 the ten times I've been there. At this price I expect much better. At this point I prefer the Vons bakery, which is more consistent and has a lot more bagel flavors, too. Of course they won't toast and butter your bagels for an unreasonably high price like Panera will.

I was charged for a drink that should have been $0 on the sip club, according to the computer. It showed a zero charge on the touch screen and a total of ~15. Then, after I swiped my card it showed a total of $19. The manager said they were refunding the money for the drink to my card. They did not do so. They could have reversed the charge and re-rang the order up. I will not return to Panera because of the dishonesty by management.

Panera bread has raised their prices, decreased their portions and have zero customer support. Guess they’ve expanded too much like a fast food chain. I have provided feedback to customer support and had no response. Will purchase from small local stores that provide better food and service.

I would give it a zero star if it were possible. One of the worst experiences I have had in a long time. Super rude staff, not very vigilant with the food or the orders. I bought a tub of cream cheese and when checked at home it was half eaten! When contacted the branch, one of the staff told me that perhaps my food had shrunk! The manager agreed to refund the purchase. However, selling half eaten food in the middle of a pandemic is not exactly a good sign!

No one at the register to help, couldn’t get a cup for water with food I ordered. Men’s bathroom was a disaster, paper towels all over the ground. Tables and floor filthy wi to crumbs everywhere. This place has really fallen off for the price they charge now.

Slowest meal ever. Only two orders before me & it took 20 minutes for two to go orders of Mac n cheese. Food is good but not worth the inconvenience of the wait and the staff who are moving so slowly behind the counter & don’t seem to care.

Honestly, my visit to Panera was pretty bad. The spoons still had stuff on them like they hadn’t been washed, and the seats were dirty too. There were dishes piled up everywhere, and I even found a hair in my food, which just ruined the whole meal. People were walking in and out like they lived there including some homeless folks just hanging around inside. I get that things can get busy, but it felt really unclean and unorganized. Definitely not what I expected. Do not recommend if you want a clean environment workers need to be improved

Would give a lower rating if I could. The team manager there was rude and unprofessional. May was rude and gave attitude towards me. When I asked for the cup that I paid for she gave a nasty attitude that included some rude sarcasm. She quickly responded by saying “we don’t have your order” when I gave my name she asked what kind of drink I got “hot or cold”. Without giving me a chance to speak she sarcastically and with an attitude said “what you don’t know what kinda drink you got?” She was rude and as a manager my self it is unacceptable. To top it off on my way out said and I quote “ And don’t give a name and say I had an attitude on the review. What a joke of a “Manager.”Please I advise you not to go here, it was my second time trying Panera and I can assure you it will be my last.

Okay, this might be the worst review up to date. I was on my way to this location using maps to get me there. Then it stopped working. After many attempts, I decided to call the store to ask for help. The young man who answered the phone said his opening to answering the phone, and I asked for directions to his location. I shared my location at the time (going SB 163/54). so he could let me know what direction to go. He proceeded to tell me that he didn't know where I was at. He then asked a co-worker, who didn't know either. So I asked for crossroads, and he didn't know what I meant. So I asked for the name of a nearby street, he again asked a coworker, and again they didn't know either. But the co-worker mentioned to him to ask me if I knew where Vons or Target were (I could hear her next to him) , he asked me and I responded that it had been so long since I had been in the area I wouldn't know, that I appreciated any help he could give me. By this time, he was getting frustrated and responded with; "Ma'am I have no idea where you are." I responded with, "I understand and was hoping a street name might help me when I stopped and asked someone for help." He was frustrated and told me he can't help me. I asked for the manager. He put me on hold. Meanwhile, I found a Target close by an In&Out place. I asked a young man coming out of the store (he was starting to gather carts) if he knew of a Panara place nearby. He said no. 7+ minutes went by, and the young man came back to the phone to tell me his manager couldn't help me and he wasn't coming to the phone. So I said, "Okay, I just want to be sure I understand correctly. You couldn't help me. You asked your co-worker, and they couldn't help. You went to get your manager at my request, and he said he couldn't help and he wasn't coming to the phone?. Do I understand this correctly?" He said yes. I responded with, "That's horrible customer service." Well, I can't help you he said. "Well, that says a lot about management and the team, doesn't it? I'm going to let corporate know how I was treated." And this kid said to me, "Go ahead. Do what you have to do." AND HUNG UP!!! Make no mistake. I understand that my GPS going out was in no way their fault or their concern. This is about CUSTOMER SERVICE, and they DON'T HAVE ANY!!! Eventually, I found the location and went inside to meet up with my friend. The only reason this place got 1-star is because there was a gentleman who came in very friendly and asked about available outlets for his laptop. He sat at the table next to me, introduced himself, shook my hand, and said my name is ______. Then, he went about his business. I do realize that not all locations are this way, but I will say that THIS LOCATION is one to AVOID!!! DON'T BOTHER GOING HERE!!! There are plenty of other places you ould go and I'm sure you have a good chance at much better customer service. I'll be happy to share a follow-up review with his one.

I had a very unpleasant experience at Panera Bread today. The attention from the young lady handling orders at 6:00 PM was very poor. She lacked courtesy and professionalism, making my visit uncomfortable. It’s disappointing because I expected better service. I hope the establishment takes steps to improve customer service quality.

I ordered my drink at the kiosk. When I went to the pick up area Team Manager Mark was there. No eye contact, no acknowledgement of my presence. Just kept to himself, while talking to team members as they were getting orders ready. After 10 min the screen showed my order was ready, Mark never addressed it. Went to the front of the counter and let them know I waited for my drink to be ready and the person up front had the sense of urgency to help me. A little more training from management to address guest they serve.

This place is dirty inside and outside, horrible customer service, some of the team members are nice, but the manager is not friendly and very rude. I love Panera, but not this location. 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

this is the third or fourth time ive been to this panera and they were out of stock on half the fountain drinks as well as a lot of their other menu items? not really sure how they manage their logistics. but with a wifi as slow as theirs, i find it pretty difficult to find any reason to come here anymore

wow, I have dined in and taken out on many occasions, hoping that I may have my mind changed, but it seems like every time is worse than the last General manager Aaron and District Manager Chris must have been handed their positions with no prior experience, as the restaurant is absolutely chaotic. With very few guests in the lobby, there are still abhorrent wait times, the food is absolutely disgusting in presentation (nothing like what is advertised, which is asinine as they also just raised prices), staff is inattentive and i saw multiple workers both front of house and kitchen staff getting high in the parking lot.

Tried to give Panera a chance one more time. Two pick 2 meals, 2 bowls of Mac n cheese, 2 small drinks was $74. You order at the counter, go pick up your own food at the counter like you're at a deli, and get told to buss your own table. The Mac n cheese was microwaved and over cooked to hard on one side. Super small portions. Salad was drenched in dressing even though I asked for it on the side. What a waste of money. And the staff look miserable. You can get better quality food, served at a table with actual friendly staff for 1/3 less the cost.

Very poor experience. We got to the Panera on Balboa avenue at around 6:35 on a Saturday evening. There were two groups of two ahead of us. One person taking orders. The two groups ahead of us had language barriers and many questions. There were two or three staff members talking in the back by the ovens. After waiting in line 12 to 15 min our order was taken. They did not mention to us they were extremely backed up and it would take a while to get our order. We did not receive our order until 8:00 p.m. . When we got it home it was the wrond type of soup. The sandwich was soggy like it had been made and sat a while. The baguette pizza was okay. During this entire hour none of the staff members apologize or told us how long it was going to be. There were quite a few unhappy customers in the restaurant. A bit of good customer service would have gone a long way. Possibly an update on the time, the offer of a drink while we waited, any number of things could have been done. I believe the problem is they pay more attention to phone in orders from the app then they do to the customer's waiting in the restaurant. I for one will never be back They have lost a customer when it could have been mitigated and turned around. You don't have an hour to wait do not go to the Panera on Balboa

I thought long and hard about leaving this review, and I came to the conclusion that I had a moral responsibility in order to prevent other people from patroning such a dishonest place. I went there everyday for almost a year largely out of convenience of location. They were always out of everything. Tables were frequently dirty. The one thing that kept me going back was what I thought was the atmosphere That wasn't till one day they did not have their usual radio playing and I heard employees openly swearing making disgusting inappropriate jokes and worst of all outright making fun of they're less fortunate and more economically challenged customers. That is absolutely unacceptable. Unless, enjoy long lines only once you get up to the counter to find out that what you want is out of stock, or to hear disgusting personal conversations or have staff overly make fun of their customers go somewhere else. There are plenty of other paneras that are managed far better.

I noticed the employees are using their gloves to touch the cash register and then also make food which is very unsanitary. My food came out all wet. No idea why that would happen. I would suggest this location review food handling practices.

Sheeta, manager said this is absolutely asiago bagel. NO! This is an ugly cheesy volcano bagel. Ive never seen this kinda ugly bagel in Panera stores. Dont sell if you failed baking like this.

What’s the point in wearing food handlers gloves when they are sweeping, wiping everything down then handling, preparing your food with same gloves. Disgusting ! Even their dirty appearance and apron will make you think Twice before ordering. I guess good help is hard to find. Gross !!

**The manager “May” at this location should NOT be in charge** After 10min had passed on my pre scheduled online order, I inquired with May of the status, she responded firmly with “it’s coming, we are doing the best we can” I then commented that I had a prescheduled time and I was going to be late for a meeting. she then responded with “that is not my problem whatsoever, you should have scheduled it in advance!”. I attempted to respond that I had prescheduled and she interrupted me saying that she would immediately cancel my order should I keep talking. 5min later passed & I received my order, I asked May for a business card and she refused to provide then ATTEMPTED TO GRAB MY FOOD OUT OF MY HAND and she said I should leave. Upon walking outside her coworker came out and apologized, he said that she does this often and has a temper…. WHY IS “MAY” A MANAGER HERE?

I’ve been coming to this restaurant for a long time and always had good experiences. The food was great, and I really enjoyed it here. But this time was very disappointing. First, they didn’t have the bread for the sandwich I wanted, so I had to pick something else. Then I noticed the place was very dirty — dishes piled up near the trash area, and dirty tables. My son had to clean our table just so we could sit. The worst part was when my son got his soup — there was a big hair in it. That completely ruined our meal. It’s really sad to see how much this place has gone downhill. I hope they clean up and get back to how they used to be.

I understand food you order doesn't always look like the picture, but this is ridiculous. I found maybe 5-6 small pieces of bacon. The small amount of chicken that was on the sandwich, were all small scrap pieces. I've never had such a disrespectful sandwich ever. Even Subway does better than this.
