My veteran husband and I love Mexican food. We just moved in the hiawassee area and we found a Mexican place that we can call our go-to LOL. We are so pleased with the atmosphere and the food. Mexican food is one of my go-to meals. My wife and I had a wonderful experience at Monte Alban. There was reminiscing about the mezcal we drank in our youth that bears the same name...and a worm. I absolutley love coastal Mexican cuisine. I got the Vallarta Especial and my wife got the Diabla tacos. Both were fantastic but the Diabla sauce was amazing! The atmosphere is really cool. The tables have murals on them and the chairs are carved with agave plants. There is outdoor seating but it's early April so still a little chilly to be sitting outside. Add this place to your list of great places to eat!

This place is a hidden gem, and I’m so happy to have found it as a tourist. I am from Mexico and this place had some of the best Mexican food I’ve had in the US. The menu also has some stuff that appeals to Americans like the ground beef hard tortilla stuff, but they also have authentic food & tacos. The tacos are DELICIOUS, so are the flautas, the guacamole and the chicken soup (that’s all we could try in the 1st visit). Everything was fresh and flavorful. The flan is AUTHENTIC and home-made. We initially ordered one flan and then we ended up having three. The place is CLEAN, they respect SOCIAL DISTANCING, and it is well ventilated. The chairs are artesanal and good quality. The staff and the waiter were very nice and friendly. Our waiter even recommended a beautiful spot to go walk in North Carolina and see the lake. If I’m ever around this area again I’ll definitely be back.

The food was really good! Loves the salsa - not too thick and lots of cilantro. Cheese was not super hot but tasted great! Our meal was amazing! Chicken and chorizo with veggies and topped with shredded cheese. The margaritas were a different story. Do not recommend. Watery and a an artificial green color.

I ordered from the wrong branch. When I went to pick up the order, they called the other branch and canceled it, but they still charged me. The other payment hasn't refund. It wouldn't be a big problem if you didn't charge $17. Be a little honest.

I don’t normally leave reviews… but this place is a joke. The largest serving size we got was barely enough to fill up my 4 yr old. Food was not even warm when I got home 10 minutes after picking it up.
