Returned today with my wife and two friends. A delightful little place, stolen from time. You can feel the reassuring air of this warm and welcoming place; a magical and charming place. Family-like. And here you will find nothing but smiles and cuddles, helpfulness and dedication. Preparation and passion. The atmosphere is very clean, well-furnished and tidy, with the style of an inn straight out of a film like The Lord of the Rings. A magical place. The dishes are incredibly good and well-balanced in taste and flavor, typical of Brianza cuisine and beyond, with genuine and exceptionally high-quality ingredients, including local ones. Served with care and prepared in a sensual and captivating way. The care and warmth in the description of the dishes and especially the wines, which you can find here in both quality and in generous quantities. Wonderful DOC wines and liqueurs that are not found everywhere. Coming here is definitely a treat, an embrace of aromas and tastes, of flavors and warm sensations. Highly recommended, and I will definitely be back! Don't look at the price or the calories, and treat yourself to a moment of pure culinary delight...and more!

Fantastic experience, friendly and fairly quick service, delicious food, and super fair prices, except perhaps for the dish of the day, risotto with ossobuco, which was a bit overpriced. A truly excellent experience overall, we'll definitely be back!

First time at this typical osteria, but we'll definitely be back. Excellent traditional Brianza food, knowledgeable and friendly staff, good value. I recommend the appetizers, with fried polenta crostoni with burola (salami paste), sausage ragù, gorgonzola, and taleggio cheese. We then decided to skip the main courses, overlooking the excellent risottos being passed around the dining room, with tripe and rabbit roll, both delicious. Nothing to complain about the sweet salami and the bonet (a type of pastry) we ordered for dessert. A small problem, being in the center, is that you have to drive around quite a bit for parking, but it certainly helps with digestion when you leave.

A warm and welcoming place, like the taverns of old. There are details and quirks that make this place unique. The wine cellar is well-stocked, with almost every region. There are fireplaces that create a truly pleasant atmosphere. There's nothing to complain about the service, although a smile wouldn't hurt. The dishes are truly unique and delicious, some traditional Lombard dishes revisited with a modern twist and offering unique flavors. Prices are average with other restaurants. I've seen they often host themed evenings. I absolutely recommend it, a must try!

Everything was great! Delicious dishes and even the vegetarian in our group was very well catered for. Very generous portions with very attentive staff in a lovely setting. The bathroom, however, was horrendous. The baby changing was filthy (luckily I do not have a baby, but grown kids) and there were things stored behind a grimy curtain. Easily fixed though!

What a beautiful meal. Came here on a Sunday night and we were so warmly welcomed. Food delicious! Changing menu but we had the polenta ' Snacks' as a starter with sausage, salami, gorgonzola cheese. Try the venison main with red fruit sauce and mushrooms or delicious pasta with rabbit and herb sauce. Don't miss the tiramisu for dessert! Thank you to Claudia and Ceasar for their professionalism, kindness and patience in guiding us through our food and wine choices.

Quite simply the best Italian food I have ever tasted. We were helped with the translation of the menu by a regular customer and his suggestions didnt disappoint. In the end we ordered 3 mains between the two of us and a desert. Everything tasted exceptional! Very reasonable price considering the quality of the food here. Very nice wines too. If only there were places this good in England!

Cura dei dettagli, passione per la cucina e per la valorizzazione dei prodotti locali, una accogliente atmosfera e il personale che trasmette attenzione e anche conoscenza rispetto al prodotto offerto. La cucina è di ottima qualità con una proposta di piatti che sanno accontentare ogni palato. Eccezionali gli gnocchetti pizzoccherati, cottura e mantecatura perfetta del risotto. Ottima anche la scelta dei vini. Per l'occasione una cena aziendale molto ben riuscita.

Osteria tipica brianzola, ambiente familiare. Menù con piatti tipici semplici ma di qualità, ben cucinati. Antipasto di salumi e formaggi per due persone forse un po' ridotto in quantità. Carta dei vini ampia. Personale molto molto cordiale. Scontrino forse leggermente alto.

Non è facile a Merate trovare un ambiente accogliente legato alla volontà di fare buon cibo ad un prezzo adeguato. Questo è uno dei pochi casi che da romano ho vissuto in una Brianza che per questioni sentimentali frequento da dieci. Era pranzo, con un'offerta ad hoc, ma le premesse sono ottimali. Buono il cibo, buona l'offerta dei vini, ottimo il servizio, eccellente la cortesia dei gestori. Ho l'impressione che diverrà la mia tappa fissa a Merate.

Very nice and cosy restaurant that I think used to be a fruit market/store. The food was really well made. Still don’t know til this day how Italians can eat so much and don’t get stuffed like I did after the first antipasti which would have been enough but having a primi, secondi AND a dessert waiting I had to step up my dinner game! Well worth the visit! 😊

This restaurant serves some typical local dishes using quality ingredients. The atmosphere is elegant but not formal, and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The polenta crostoni are excellent, as are the cold cuts, and the rest of the dishes we tried are equally excellent. The only downside is the practically non-existent alternatives for someone with a food allergy... We asked over the phone when booking and were assured there would be no problems, but instead the menu was limited to just one dish.

Siamo venuti per un pranzo tra amici, il posto è molto tipico e carino, il cibo nella norma, i primi non erano molto buoni, i secondi un po’ meglio. Il tagliere di antipasti e la polenta fritta molto buoni invece!

Locale rustico e accogliente. Cibo discreto ( troppo olio nei pizzoccheri e troppo burro nei casoncelli) L' antipasto buono, primi da rivedere, dolci (ho chiesto se ci fosse il rum nel tiramisu e mi hanno detto che non c'era, invece c'era). Caffè 2,50 idem coperto 3,50, eccessivo. Bottiglia vino da 33 8€ . Si commenta da solo. In tutto ció mentre mangiavamo abbiamo sentito che chi arrivava dopo (finita la disponibilità dei pizzoccheri) proponevano stinco e cinghiale.. Prezzo e gestione pessimi.
