This Peets is my absolute favorite location. All the workers there are amazing. Great coffee!

I love you, Peet's coffee!!!! Every location I visit, I am always always always going to be a loyal Peetnik!!! It is a very quality Cafe and they always have the best treats to munch on!! I love the loose leaf tea and the workers are always very pleasant.

Probably the best Peet’s in the country and one of the better coffee shops in the east bay. It’s frequented by Lakeshore locals and offers an unpretentious space to chill near the lake that’s hard to find these days.

I have noticed that Oaklanders prefer Peet’s coffee to the competitor. That is my observation. This place is about the largest coffee shop around yet it was full with loving and respectful people from all works of life. OMG it was also clean for the amount of people inside on a holiday. The bathrooms were clean. And hey I didn’t know a cup of medium coffee cost less that $3.00. Am a brew your own coffee person. I seldom go out to the cafe to study, for some reason I get things done in the midst of the hustle and bustle 😊

Peets has the most delicious coffee I 've ever had. I have been drinking it since 1964 when I first found it. Their banana bread is awesome too. Great way to set off your day!

The biggest Peets I've ever been in. Super high vaulted ceiling with skylights. Lots of seating inside. A little seating outside. Right in the mix by Trader Joe's and Lake Merrit.

The customer service is excellent.

☕😋 I loved Peet's coffee! I ordered a Caramel Macchiato and no extra needed. Perfect as is. But thats only 1% of it's charm! The people, the decor, the vibe, the history, and the fast service was an adventure on it's own. I visited on a Saturday morning and then walked to the farmer's market across the street by the lake. It was one of those perfect Saturday's. Highly recommend.

Updating review as of Dec 2018 to 5 stars! The newly renovated Peets is double in size having absorbed the vacant space next door. The new space is beautifully and comfortably done - dark woods, communal and separate tables, high ceiling with four huge skylights allow abundant natural light to brighten the interior. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly as before. Job well done Peets! Ever since the renovation, the Starbucks 3 minutes walk away has seen its foot traffic died down.

I went here and it was great! I recommend the chocolate croissant warmed up. Highly Recommended!

Classic coffee on Lakeshore, great service and strong coffee. The location is awesome and inside is very nice with different seating options and cool people. Lakeshore has become kinda sketchy tho, there was an attempted smash and grab across the street and a car was broken into in the lot right outside the coffee house. It's not the fault of the cafe in any way but if you go there be aware of the risks. I'm a long time resident of Oakland and it pains me to write this but the truth is what it is 🙏🏾

Since the remodeling, it's no longer as cozy as it used to be, but it is comfortable. New couches, chairs, tables - all good for having a chat with friends, or getting some work done. Staff is friendly and accommodating, and the coffee and teas are pretty consistent and good. Although I'd rather support a local business instead of a large chain, there's really nothing wrong with this place. The location is excellent for grabbing a beverage on your way to work. Give them a try.

Great experience each visit. Friendly staff, spacious yet crowded. Full service location. For the past year Peets unfortunately has had the worst cups in the coffee business. Never seem to get a tight fit. Occasionally the sip hole is on the wrong side of cover. Peets has amazing coffees yet the not so functional non fitting cups is an issue. Avid Peets Coffee fan.

Good coffee, but standing around at 6am while they make online orders isn't the best feeling. It should be a whole different person helping in store customers. It's the same as a drive through window worker helping in store customers too. Not the best option.

Sealli Good atmosphere and friendly staff. I can always count on getting my favorite green tea and muffin. As of February 21, 2022, the place has expanded and more comfy. It's still the busiest store in Oakland.

The churro latte is a scam, it's just coffee with cinnamon in it you can go make that at the self service station for 2 less dollars. Good overall, but when there isn't music playing it feels like a library in there

These stars are for the prepacked coffee I buy from the stores.. mmmm Starbucks vanilla flavored coffee. Mmmm Starbucks Carmel macchiato flavored coffee. Alfred rolled in his grave he kept it OG. Y'all twisted it into what he didn't want.. Even the baked goods went Starbucks.. the last location gave me bottom of the urn burnt coffee in San Mateo.. y'all get their stars too.. didn't bother making a fresh batch...it had already expired who knows when and he didn't bother making it a pour over or even an Americano to.make it seem fresh. He didn't have enough to make a full cup and tried giving it to me..I told.him to top it off with hot water. The place also smelled of rancid milk. Mmmm Starbucks And my Madelines weren't fresh either. I'm sorry for the nose dive.

Although the turnover rate for this place seems to be high there are a handful of employees that stick around and they are what make this Peet's truly a wonderful experience. It gets absolutely packed on weekends but they generally have great service and good vibes.

More than decent chain coffeeshop... workers are very kind, plenty of seating ,(though it is often crowded), but it's open late (til 9), has solid WiFi, it's in the high street and thus proximal to a million services from pizza to dry cleaners, and the humans who work there have been invariably kind to me, though I prefer a local coffeehouse for small business/local support political economies reasons, I am generally happy to patronize this location

This is the nicest Peet's I've been to in the East Bay!(people mentioned remodel) Lots of space with various kinds of seating and tables, with plenty of outlets for your electronics! Parking difficulty is way up there, bring your parking mojo to this neighborhood if you are driving to this location!

I usually go here in the mornings to get a coffee I normally have a fair experience but this morning I ordered a hot vanilla late and they gave me a iced vanilla late and when I try to correct them the guy who made my drink just said sorry about that and now im stuck with a iced coffee. He didn't try to correct it or anything and I always leave a tip. This will be my last time going to peetes coffee. Ruined my entire morning

The kids that serving the people here absolutely needs a manager or a supervisor to watch them, the place is full of people and the employees just chatting and laughing with each other while the customers waiting too long for the orders and a lot of stuff is being forgotten or not delivered, I thought it will take me a 2-5 minutes to get coffee, found my self waiting there for half an hour and hearing a lot of I’m sorry and I’m sorry, I just wanted a coffee for god sake

My first encounter with racism at the Lakeshore location by a lady name Chloe. I have never been refused, or I have never seen anybody refused a cup of ice. I just paid over six dollars for a white mocha extra hot. I asked for a cup of ice so I can pour my extra hot mocha over it and she said the cups were too expensive to give me one arrogantly. The store was prepping to close, so I wanted to take my drink with me.. Thats a hell of a feeling to have in your gut when things like this happen to you.

I had a bad experience at this Peet’s location. One of the baristas, a tall African American guy, was rude and sarcastic when I asked a simple question. I don’t remember his name, but his attitude was really bad. Maybe he was trying to be funny, but it came off as rude and unprofessional. Even my friend was shocked by the way he talked to me. I don’t understand how this kind of customer service is allowed. I won’t be coming back to this location.

I came to this store to refill my coffee, but employee Russell was extremely rude and disrespectful to my wife. When she asked for a cup change, he responded inappropriately, suggesting she might have taken it from the garbage!!!! This kind of attitude is unacceptable, and I will definitely be reporting it to a higher manager.

First time ever visiting this location with my daughter and the asian employee seen me walk up to the counter and asked another employee to take my order. However, the asian employee immediately went back to taking everybody else’s order right after. Very weird and definitely my last time coming here.

And scooted so she could pass me. The guy behind the counter goes "Ummm the line is that way" with an attitude like I was trying to cut the singular person who was already ordering. I was just trying to decide what I wanted before I stood at the register requiring attention while I decided, or if someone else came in and already knew what they wanted then I can join after them in line. Anyway, trying to keep it light because I was taken off guard I said "Well, I haven't had the coffee yet you know" in a joking way instead of correcting him I know where to go I just dont come here so I wanted to look at the menu... And he goes "no excuses." Like ok so I should have just corrected him I guess. Then he went to talk to the barista. Somehow 3/4 of the way through my drink I got a few "fibers" in the straw so I went to investigate and there was an entire wad of hair in the drink. "Wad" as in 10-15 1in long hairs tangled up in a knot (but small enough to fit through the straw). I've never had anything like that happen to me and because the guy had such an attitude it does make me think it happened on purpose, because how would such a thing even make it into the blender? A singular hair, fine. A wad of hair is on purpose. I did notice another review mentioning this tall African American man's attitude, so I am mentioning that now because it didn't have anything to do with the problem until it seems like a repeat offense and biological warfare.
