Had a late lunch here with the fam and was seated outside. Despite the heat, it was pleasant as we had a breeze. I was on crutches but they had an access ramp so I was grateful for that! The service was friendly and prompt, but the food was the best part. The Calamari appetizer was excellent and was devoured in record time. I ordered a fish and shrimp basket that was fantastic - I don't know what batter they use for either one, but it is unlike your typical seasoning you'll encounter at similar places. My wife and kiddos highly enjoyed their food too. Prices are commensurate with good seafood restaurants. Plenty of good parking.
The service was fast, I ate the pecan crusted founder with the jalapeno cream corn and mashed potatoes which was all amazing. The seaside view at night was wonderful and we were able to see a firework show while we ate.We will definitely be back.
My husband, son, and I enjoyed dinner here last night. The food was very flavorful, fresh and quick to reach our table. The drinks were great. My favorite part was our server. She was kind, funny, and engaging. I regret not catching her name. She was on top of everything and made sure the entire meal from food to drinks was to our liking. It was a long day at work, and this was a nice way to relax and unwind while enjoying the view.
They had amazing food and good service. Open air seating when we went. They have doors to close the upstairs and a bar downstairs as well. Pictured is the Mahi Mahi plate, onion strings, fish basket and jalapeño cream corn. Also had seaweed salad and sushi style red fish. Again amazing food.
Great food! I got the dish and shrimp and everything was delicious. Cool vibes at this place! Felt like I was eating at and old pirate wooden ship "in a good way". The waitress suggested some jalapeño corn chowder stuff as a side and it was equally as good.
While on my wayto AZ, I stopped in Aransas Pass to see if I could visit with some old friends from when I was stationed near by at Naval Station Ingleside and stayed at the Ransom Road RV Park. I met some great folks staying in the lot next to me. While on the roof of my motorhome doing some work, I noticed that I could see everything around me and asked my neighbors if there was a way to get to the water by walking out Ranson Road and they told me, "Yes," and that there was a pier and a place called "Mickey's Bar and Grill" there, and that the food was great and the scenery was, too. I had been out working on the motorhome most of the day, that Sunday, and was pretty hungry. So, I walked down to "Mickey's" and had a seat at the first bar stool as you come in the door there on the second level and ask the bar tender for a Coke and a menu. Well, as you can see by the pictures, I ordered a half dozen oysters on the halfshell and the "Pick 2," Oysters and Shrimp. While I was waiting for my food and young man walked behind the bar and I thought I noticed him, from years ago. So, I asked if his name was, "Robert" and he said, "No, Robert's downstairs in the kitchen. I said, "Oh, yeah. What's his last name?" He said, "Lopez, he's the Kitchen Manager." It wasn't who I thought it was, but just a few minutes later, a guy came in and sat down in the second bar stool, next to me. A few seconds later, he turned to me so, I spoke and he stuck out his hand, as to introduce himself. As soon as he said, "I'm the Kichen Manager," I said, "Robert Lopez!" You should have seen the look on his face. He immediately asked, right in the midst of shaking hands, "How do you know that?" I laught and again he asked, "How do you know that. I have to know?" Well, anyway, needless to say, we had a great conversation!!! I'm glad I was just finishing up eating because, at 5 pm, the place started to get busy and I had more work to get done on the motorhome. We had short talk and I left. But, if you want to have a good time and some great food, "Mickey's Bar and Grill" is the place to come. I sure will be coming back on my way back through from AZ!!! Thanks again, Robert!!!
I bring my HOG Chapter members down here for seafood at least once a year. Never disappointed! All are happy with the food and service. We make it a regular ride whenever we want to get out of SA. Wide variety of menu selections at fair prices. Not everything is fried, and there are good non-seafood selections as well.
Our waitress was sweet and the atmosphere was beautiful - sitting by the water. The food was delicious! We had the fried calamari and the grilled fish and shrimp plate.
In all my years of going to this area I somehow never made it here and I finally got to eat here. What a wonderful little place! Getting to sit right on the water and watch the storks with impeccable, congenial, friendly and efficient service by Leona made this a memorable experience in addition to extremely delicious shrimp! Fresh, hot, and wonderful flavors! And for sides don't miss the jalapeno cream corn.
Super nice wait staff... Got to try there clam chowder was some of the best I had on a long time
Lovely waterfront view. Large yummy portions - except for the key lime pie which was tiny. Will return but try a different dessert.
Great location, right on the water. Had a nice breeze coming in off the water. The food was fantastic. I had a blackened grouper sandwich that was amazing. The wait staff was friendly but refills took a while to get, as this place gets very busy in the evening. I'd definitely go back for the food and ambiance alone!
We traveled from Burnet, Tx to Port A with our small dog to buy a new vehicle and the salesman recommended this place and told us they have an outside deck where dogs are allowed. When we arrived, (on a Tuesday) the outside deck was closed for maintenance, however the mgr told us we could bring our furr-baby upstairs since he was tiny. We sat in the back corner near the water. Our waitress Melissa, was very sweet and attentive. And the shift mgr on duty, Eli, was awesome as well. When my seafood gumbo arrived, it had only sausage but was lacking seafood (no fault of anyone except thats what was scooped from the crockpot). The Mgr took care of this and had the chef grill me 4 large shrimp. He was very friendly, and didn't hesitate to make our lunch and trip a satisfactory one. We also ordered the special of the day, Soft shell crab sandwich with Onion Tanglers, and OMG the sandwich was so huge, filled w/ 3 big pieces of crab! It was cooked to perfection and the onions were lightly coated and very tasty. An excellent choice and a wonderful experience! Cant wait for my next trip to Aransas Pass/Port A.
I ordered the blackened fish sandwhich which came with a toasted bun, fresh fries and a generous serving of fish (that I wasn't expecting). The fish wasn't zesty enough for me until I put some ranch on it. Wife ordered the bacon wrapped shrimp appetizer with a loaded baked potato. It's hard to mess up anything with bacon, so it was obviously popping with flavor. The potato was a tad dry but supplied with a remedy of sour cream, whipped butter and homemade ranch👍 will be returning Jan 4 2022 Update: We have returned. Got blackened fish with rice and sautéed green beans, bacon wrapped shrimp, a cheeseburger, chicken strips, and a shrimp/fish/oyster basket. All of the food was incredible and everyone was very pleased👍
Great staff, great food. Today I had the oysters. They were sweet and had a perfect texture. I was looking for some redfish because you would think that sense Mickey’s is situated on Redfish Bay that they would serve it. Next time I was told to try their flounder sandwich by a local. I’ll take him up on that when I return.
We had our fish from a fishing trip prepared and dried up. It was some of the best I've ever had. Definitely a locals spot, and worth the trip.
Unbelievable dinner....you won't walk away hungry! The food was delicious and our server was super nice, friendly and efficient. This is a great place to bring family and friends, great ambiance and very relaxing. My sister and I stopped after a long day at the beach and got prompt service. I had the shrimp basket, my sister had the fish and shrimp basket, it comes with several sides. They don't skimp on how many pieces of fish you get! They were lightly breaded and so tasty.....no digging through the breading looking for the fish here. Everything is home made including the cocktail sauce. Their cole slaw is one of the best I have ever had. We got a crabcake as an appetizer....big enough for 2 people to share....highly highly recommend. The sauce that comes with it is spicy and gives it a kick. If you don't like spicy the crabcake by itself is tender, lots of meat, and seasoned to perfection. Can you tell we loved this place? Great job guys, we will definitely be back!!
Devin, our waiter was on his second day on the job and he took great care of us. My wife and I enjoyed the excellent food, the music, the atmosphere and the view of the water and boats going by.
Sesame crusted tuna appetizer was delicious! Great service and friendly atmosphere. We will definitely be back.
Wife and I had dinner the other night and everything was great. Quick service, great food, wonderful scenery to enjoy.
Dinner time Saturday night we went from Port Aransas took the boat across all the way over to Mickey's no wait they weren't busy like they were, Port Aransas. We got in they sat us down everybody was great. The food was delicious and hot, atmosphere was awesome. I can only imagine what it's like during the season when it's packed, it must be a fun place to be, The food still has to be good, beer's cold. Definitely will stop back by again next year when we're down at Port Aransas.
My husband and I visited Mickeys last night, with a group of friends and had a flawless experience! Our waitress, Melissa, was top notch! She recommended the gumbo which was also out of this world! She anticipated what we needed before we even knew we needed it and truly made our evening with her bubbly personality and attentiveness. The views from our table upstairs were priceless and being able to dock the boat right there will prove to be very convenient the next time we come! 10/10 reccomend Mickeys Bar & Grill!
Love this restaurant! Always great food and service! Lexi was our waitress this last time and she was a true gem. The atmosphere and being on the marina makes for a fun and beautiful place to get together with friends and family. Everyone is always friendly and the food is always amazing!!!
Mickey’s Bar and Grill is a favorite place to dine at anytime I’m down at the coast. The Service is always great, and one of my Favorite Servers is Amber. Shes one of the Best! Always great time when she helps Me and My Family. Certainly a place to visit on your next trip to the coast!
Had the special of the day Fish Plate with 1 side for $18.95 with Fish of the day (Grouper). Had the Grouper blackened. It was my first time ever trying that type of fish and I must say it was very deeelicious! Everything tasted very good, even the seafood Gumbo ! This is my second time coming here, first time I stopped by, we parked the boat and had them cook our fresh caught fish which I remembered tasting very good ! Its a really nice atmosphere and our waitress was very attentive and kind ! The music was also great ! Love this spot, we've added it to one our favorites to stop at when out fishing !
Mickey’s Bar and Grill in Aransas Pass is one of those spots you can’t help but come back to. The food is consistently delicious, from perfectly cooked seafood to hearty sandwiches, all served fresh and full of flavor. The atmosphere is laid-back yet lively, with friendly staff and a gorgeous waterfront view that makes every meal feel like a mini vacation. It’s the perfect place to relax, enjoy the sea breeze, and watch the boats go by. My only disappointment was finding out that the frog legs, which used to be a unique and tasty treat, have been removed from the menu. They were a personal favorite and something that made Mickey’s stand out even more. Still, there’s plenty here to love, and even without the frog legs, Mickey’s remains a top choice for great food, great views, and a welcoming coastal vibe.
My friends and I visited this restaurant a couple of months ago, and I had some of the best seafood I have ever had in my life! My friends ordered a platter of Fried Shrimp, Fried Catfish, Fried Crawfish with Onion Rings, and I ordered a Grilled Fish Sandwich and Fries. Our food was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The waiter was very attentive. The views looking outside this wooden restaurant was beautiful located right next to water, boats and houses. The seafood here is so fresh and delicious! I highly recommend this restaurant!
A fabulous sawdust on the floor seafood spot right on the water. The calamari was the best I’ve ever had, never frozen. The fish taco was outstanding, the seafood gumbo was super and they served it with some Texas toast by request. Excellent service. I also appreciated the roll of paper towels on each table!
While visiting the Texas Bay area,I recently dined at Mickey's Bar and Grill in Aransas Pass, TX. It was an absolute delight. The food was expertly seasoned offering a burst of flavors with every bite. We ordered the chicken fried steak, flounder with fries and 2 fish ' n' shrimp platters. The staff were incredibly friendly, adding to the overall warm and inviting atmosphere. The beautiful views of the bay provided a picturesque backdrop, making it a must-visit bar and grill for both locals and visitors alike. This restaurant is located next to a boat dock. The bar and seating area on the 2nd floor offers a better view and experience.
Very delicious seafood, right on the water, with nice views. The food takes a bit, but it's totally worth the wait. The food comes out very hot and fresh so make sure you plan accordingly as it will take a while but good food made to order takes some time. The frog legs are amazing! Probably some of the best frog legs I've ever had. The shrimp were big and tasty as well. The flounder was excellent 👌🏼. This fish does NOT have that nasty fishy taste either. Very well prepared food with outstanding taste. They have a full bar with several cocktail options. Whether it's you and friends or just the family this is a perfect place for brunch, lunch, lupper, or supper. Did I mention how good the frog legs were? 😋😎
The food is great! Burger was the bomb! The atmosphere with great views is a bonus. Highly recommended while visiting Aransas Pass. Update: Went for another visit on 4-16-23, and I was one again so impressed with the food, friendly service, and ambience. Decided to order a prime rib sandwich which was so darn delicious and cooked to my liking. Loved it!!!. The Fish & Shrimp basket was very delicious and plentiful. Can't wait to go back!!

On the water with a great view. Friendly staff, awesome food, great drinks and a place to dock your boat so you can get there by water as well. They will even cook your own caught fish for you!
EDIT Aug 2023. Menu revised again, better customer recognition. Prices are still higher due to "bidenomics" runaway inflation. $23.99 for flounder plate. But now I can again get my favorite green bean side dishes. Back to being my go-to seafood joint, albeit a little less frequent due to inflation. Still cannot beat the location and view. Back to 4 stars.
My wife and I found this place by accident. We we're out looking for a place to eat and saw their sign and decided to check it out. Food was good and had great service. We really enjoyed the table we had overlooking the piers. The area was all open and we had a nice breeze blowing through. We really enjoyed our time there.
So today was my first time eating here. I like to start by saying the high points of this place. The establishment was probably one of the neatest that I have been to in a while I love the fact that it sits over the water high up with lots of open seating with a nice breeze coming right through that's easily to control by simply opening and closing garage door windows. The staff here were super friendly and I thought it was interesting that on their menu they had a you catch it we cook it unfortunately this option is not available at the current time due to covid. The major downfall that I saw with this establishment was the prices if you're not worried about the price then you will probably enjoy this restaurant but if you're like me and you like being thrifty with your money then you will probably find this establishment to be overpriced. I want to be fair but I also want to point out the obvious. A simple fish basket of fried fish and french fries at $20 is more than 25% over your average restaurant. It was not just the fish basket. As I look down the menu I felt the majority of the menu was overpriced, but I will say the food was good it was well prepared it was plated in a professional manner that I would expect at a quality restaurant. Like I said the environment was awesome. With everything being taken into account I've decided to give this establishment a 4 stars.
Very good fresh fish! All members of our party (of 14) really liked their food, and we tried just about everything on the menu, from fish and shrimp, fish tacos, prime rib sandwiches, to burgers. All great, as were the onion rings! Service was equally outstanding too! Think I just found my new favorite Seafood Restaurant in the Coastal Bend.
Nice place, with a great view on the Aransas Pass marina, especially from the second floor. The food is mostly good, they have always fresh fish. The sides were ok, except french frie, which was very oily, not crunchy, like withered flowers. I would recommend: Flounder in pecan crust.
Mickey’s was a great impromptu outing with the family and I on a lazy Sunday! Their famous burger was as advertised and huge, the wife and I had to split one. There was a great view of the marina and the wait staff was extremely attentive and accommodating for some extra needs. We will definitely be visiting again.
Food was good although they are using a breading for fried fish and shrimp that has some herb in it I couldn't identify. Also last year they stopped including Pinto beans with the Cole slaw and hand cut French fries, which is a shame. I ordered the fish and shrimp basket which was good. Not as many fries in the past. I also ordered a soft shelled crab which cost almost $10 and was not much larger than the palm of my hand. It was good but very small. Fish, shrimp and Cole slaw portions were good. They were slammed with business but they found us a table for six and the server was great. Granddaughter ordered a shrimp po boy which had a ton of shrimp plus tomatoes and lettuce. This is one of my grandchildren favorite places and we enjoyed our meal. We got there about 7:30 and left at 9lm because the kitchen was so busy. Show up earlier than we did! The views from the open air seating were nice.
Solid 4.5 in my opinion. Food was good and I liked it. Sautéed green beans were more like Sautéed green bean and bacon onion hash (very delicious). The grilled grouper was great. Key lime pie OMG. Servers were super friendly as well. I would recommend and would come again if in the area. The weather was gorgeous as well, not that they have anything to do with it but I really enjoyed my view at lunch.
We stopped in for dinner after a fishing tournament and really enjoyed the overall setting. The ambiance was relaxing and refreshing—right on the water, with a nice breeze and a beautiful view. We started with the fried mushrooms. They were just okay taste-wise, but the portion was generous for the price. I ordered the grouper sandwich, which was one of the specials of the day, and it was absolutely delicious—crispy, flavorful, and very filling. The bun was surprisingly good too, but the fish was so tasty on its own that I didn’t even need it as a sandwich. My fiancé had the shrimp po’boy. He wasn’t very impressed, but to be fair, he’s from Louisiana and has high standards when it comes to seafood. 😄 The service was unfortunately a bit underwhelming, especially since it wasn’t very busy. I had to go up to the bar just to get some water, and we ended up clearing our own table after the appetizers to make room for our meals. All in all, the food had some highlights (especially the grouper!), and the atmosphere was great, but the service could definitely use some improvement.
While exploring the Aransas Pass area, we came across this great little restaurant. It's off the beaten path, apparently a place where locals gather. The view from the upstairs dining room was great (there are several flights of stairs, it's right on the water). The place has a great feel, food was reasonably priced, service was very good. We ordered the calamari for an appetizer, it was well prepared and delicious. I ordered a chicken fried steak, large in size (lots of it was coating), it was ok, but wouldn't order it again. Plenty of other choices, including catch of the day, which was Flounder, would've been a better choice. The gumbo was also a good choice.

Good place to chill after work, good food, good music, good people. Crab cakes are really tasty and have a good bit of kick to them, lovely setting on the water too.
We are currently in Rockport, we looked up best sea food mickey popped up. we took the 20 min drive, fish and shimp were good could be hotter but good the friesbed was cold my backed potato was good the condiments cheese, bacon, cold. Our waiter was super nice. Wouldn't take that drive the rest of my stay I'll try other local spots instead.
Family of 4, ordered fish and shrimp ceviche to start, don't bother with it, fish was mushy, flavor was lacking. The kids both had a burger, they must have been good because they are them. We had a fried fish and shrimp platter. After the mediocre ceviche we were pleasantly surprised that the platter was so good. I typically don't like or even eat fried food, but this was actually really good. The fish was crispy and firm, and came out hot. Service was fine, everybody was friendly and the location right on the water was great.
$$$$$$$$ Everything was so expensive compared to other places that I only ordered burgers. The burger was so so. Dairy queen would have been just as good, for half the price. I was wanting a shrimp plate. But wow, too much for a costal restaurant.
The food was good. The wait was about 45 mins for a 6 person table. Waitress was a bit lacking, she was sarcastic and smart@$$. Nevertheless we hit a 250 bill. We ordered mixed drinks, apps, dinner. Got refills once at the end when we finished eating after we were done. By then we didn't need it. Kinda wish the service was better for the whole experience. I posted the cheese fries and crabcake and gumbo cup we got. The food was delicious. Just the service sucked.

Good food, but charged $2.00 for tartar sauce!! And I ate 1/2 my meal before I could even get it! Wow! Seems a bit unreasonable. But that being said, the fried shrimp was just like I like it……
They have dropped their flounder sandwich and gone to Swai. The grouper was good but over priced. The service has consistently been terrible over the last year or so. It was about an hour and 10 minutes to get our food. This has been our favorite place since 2013, but we are DONE.
Disappointed, went for seafood, fish platter was swai, asian catfish, no thanks. Service was good. Table and glass ware not clean, flies.
Something happened- last January this was one of our favorite spots. Catch of the day is Swai? Vietnamese catfish?? No more flounder. Onion tanglers aren't what they were were. A tiny cup of colesaw for $2? The gumbo was still very good - packed with shrimp and sausage- great roux and not filled with rice. Service by Courtney was really outstanding- checked on us several times and super friendly. Sorry this place has gone downhill so fast.

Food overpriced for being on the coast. Inner city prices are priced cheaper than this place. Wind blows trash around the dinning room, no one seemed to care to pick it up. Lot of rules and disclaimers. They work with law enforcement if you’re drinking, don’t respect your right to bare arms(concealed carry) don’t feed seagulls, don’t climb on the siding which makes me believe it’s shorty craftsmanship. Restrooms are horrid. Wait time was ridiculous for 3 bowls of gumbo. Gumbo Roux was to thick! Now the plus. Donny took over as our original host was lacking terribly and ended up leaving home. Donny was a charm and probably the best thing about this place. He turned the night around for us with his attentiveness and gift of de-escalation. Oh parking is terrible. Race may play a factor as other Mexicans/brown people have stated
Online reads they close at 10pm on Monday's. We arrived at 8:45pm with a, "the kitchen closes at 9pm" welcome. Smh. So we got our order in quick. The fries were soggy, cold, 1 shrimp was good but the rest along with the flounder fish were questionable with little to no flavor. I really think they were under cooked and had to stop eating because i was afraid to get sick. I didn't want to make a fuss because i doubt anything would have been done in the "closed kitchen". Not worth the $60 +tip. We decided to stick around after eating to at least enjoy the view and get our moneys worth but they started bringing down the garage style doors and closing up shop. By the time we reached our car the lights where closed and 3 female workers walked out of the establishment. It was 9:30pm!!! They are supposed to close at 10pm. I took the left overs to feed the seagulls, they seemed to like it. Oh, one more thing, one of the workers was wearing a pink shirt. The same lady i saw on the establishment "hitting the pen"(getting high as a kite) just before we started walking into the place, we should have turned around right there. I hope the owner reads this.
service was so rude i have no clue who hires these people. the atmosphere was dirty some corners where filthy food unseasoned no soul
Eating here was a horrible experience. No one greeted us when we first got to the restaurant and we were confused as to if we were ever going to get seated. When we finally did get seated, 10 minutes later, we proceeded to order our food and waited OVER AN HOUR. We asked our waiter multiple times when our food would come out once we hit the 30 minute mark of waiting. Our waiter said he would check and then we just saw him walking around and avoiding our eye contact. When the food finally did come out it was cold. We complained to the manager and they apologized and said there were no runners available to get our food, which was why it was waiting. Regardless of short staff, it is unacceptable to serve waiting guests cold food. We will never be back. This was by far one of the worst food experiences we have ever had. Do not bother coming here and wasting your money.
Very overpriced for small plates and subpar food. My dish was the gumbo, it was $15 for a small bowl that had a single tiny shrimp in it. My friends both had plates similarly priced, and were left with forgotten sides and burnt fries. The waitress took forevor to check on us, and the service was slow in general despite the small number of people.
Went there to eat dinner near closing and my god everything was horrible.waited for our food for 2 hours and I’m Ngl the quality was not worth the wait, and almost all the food we got it was covered in black pepper.our drinks came out right away but by the time the food came all of the drinks were watered down and disgusting. And when we asked for straws so we didn’t put our mouths on the cups we were refused them and were very disappointed. And Malory you got it coming.NEVER AGAIN
