What a great restaurant located in Greenway Plaza area in Houston. They have creative dishes with a Cajun accent to some menu items. Crafts cockpits are exceptional. 3 $$$ for full plate meals but worth it. The Galveston raw Oyster happy hour runs until 6pm, and they very good. This is our new go to restaurant. They require face masks until seated for drinks and dining. Thumbs Up!
Simply put Eunice was a lovely restaurant. The occasion for dining in for lunch today was Administrative Professionals Day and work anniversary. The Cajun Duck poppers wrapped in bacon appetizer was delicious. The crawfish etouffee over pasta with fried shrimp was awesome. I ate every bite. Others in my party had the Day Boat Tuna and Tuna Tartar and Beet Salad. We finished off the meal with the Bread Pudding which was very tasty. Our food and our waitress Amber was perfect. Thank you Eunice.
An excellent first visit to experience Happy Hour at Eunice. As of June 2021, Happy Hour drinks were $3 off classic cocktails, 1/2 price draft beer (of which there were three on tap), and $6 for a glass of house wine. Happy Hour food items were $1 raw Prestige Oysters from Galveston and a rotating selection of small dishes. During my visit, the dishes were fried fish or grilled Shishito peppers with cheese. Happy hour prices are available at the very expansive bar or a few tables that are adjacent to the bar seating area. Happy Hours are Monday through Friday, 3 pm to 6 pm. I tried a 1/2-dozen of the raw Prestige Oysters, and they were so good, I ordered another 1/2-dozen. They were incredibly fresh, perfectly cleaned, with not the slightest hint of grains or grit - highly recommended. I also ate the grilled Shishito peppers, and again, these were very well prepared, with a nice mild spice to the peppers, grilled to perfection, with just the right hint of cheese added. The house red wine was a Prébois from Southern Rhône Valley in France (typically made from Shiraz/Syrah, Grenache), and it was a very good compliment to the food. Very friendly attentive staff, attractive surroundings, and a very relaxed upscale atmosphere. I'll definitely return. Here's a tip - although the address is 3737 Buffalo Speedway, the easiest entry to the parking garage is from Richmond Avenue heading east (towards Kirby Drive), and it's located immediately after you pass the Buffalo Speedway intersection. The restaurant offers a valet or they will validate your parking ticket.
Upscale and homely at the same time. Located in Kirby area. Lunch time is usually packed. The cornbread is a must. I had swizzle for a cocktail. Very beach tropical. I enjoyed it. For lunch I had the etouffee topped with fried shrimp. Cooked very uniquely with green pasta. Very rich and heavy! Super delicious. Overall you go once. You'll become a regular. Hands down. The service can suffer a bit due to how busy they are.
Went during happy hour and got the infamous $1 gulf oysters, the hearth roasted oysters, and the gulf fish. The oysters were pretty salty but very refreshing, and the happy hour deal can't be beaten. The hearth oysters are stuffed with shrimp and blue crab with a breadcrumb topping and we're absolutely delicious! We topped off the meal with the large plate of gulf fish which was topped with crab and cauliflower and lay in a bed of brown butter. The dish was veryyy rich, but all the flavors paired nicely together. The interior of the building is also very elegant. Definitely a great place for a special meal or some happy hour oysters!
My husband and I are proud Louisiana natives ! Once we read that the owner was native of Eunice , Louisiana, that pretty much sealed the deal. The food was great , our server was super awesome and made our experience even better !! ( Forgot his name but he green prescription glasses and a great hair cut ) The atmosphere was relaxing and inviting and the decor was unique while still paying homage to the owners roots in Louisiana. One of the owners was so kind . He checked in on each table and when he heard that we were from Louisiana, he sent over a complimentary desert. It was divine. ( Homemade bread pudding with butter pecan ice cream ) Highly recommend. We had: 1. Cocktails - Rosé - St. Landry sidecar - Boulevardier 2. Starters - Duck poppers - Gumbo / Potato Salad 3. Entrees - Eunice burger / Fries 4. Desert - Bread Pudding/Butter Pecan
You can’t go wrong with anything at Eunice. Plus they make changes to their menu Régulo there is always something new to try. Definitely always get the charred broccolini and the brussel sprouts. I went with friends so we all got different plates and tried a little of everything. Plus the servers are always great and always give us great recommendations.
Eunice is the type of place you plan your Houston vacation FOR! You pick the days you want to have brunch, lunch, AND dinner here and then plan everything else. We were taken care of by the bartenders because of where we decided to sit, and what a great choice that ended up being. Taylor and Assad gave us great recommendations when asked and impeccable service. If you are there when Assad is working, make sure you ask for the Wake Me Up and Eff Me Up espresso drink. The lemon addition is surprisingly delicious! We were fortunate to be able to chat with the manager Ishmael and let him know firsthand how great everything was. He was so gracious and kind. We had the Etoufee, shrimp and grits, chicken liver mousse, fire roasted broccolini, cast iron cornbread, gumbo, and bread pudding. Can't wait to come again.
Everything was delicious! Ask for Staci! She was very attentive and helpful! I have a way of always ordering drinks that I don't care for and she told me to try the Perry Mason and it was delicious!! The Cajun duck poppers were to die for! The sweet sauce complimented the spice of the jalapeño! The oysters were very fresh and some of the largest I've ever seen! I have never been a fan of okra in my gumbo, but this was done perfectly! The Cajun in me appreciated that it comes with a side of potato salad as well! I had the shrimp and grits, very flavorful and had large shrimp which I liked. Now to the very best part, dessert. I am NOT a dessert person, but thankfully my grandmother is because that bread pudding!! Y'all I have never had anything so delicious in my life!! Caramel sauce and pecans... Heaven!! We can't wait to go back!
Went there for brunch last week for wife’s birthday and definitely will be returning. Everything I ordered was good and was especially impressed with the margarita lol. That’s pretty much all I drink and I have to say it’s one of the best margaritas I had in a long Time. Cornbread for the table was excellent but try not to fill up on it, BUT DEFINITELY OFDER THE CORNBREAD.I ordered the fried oysters for appetizer and they were wonderful. Perfectly flavored and not over breaded. I had the gumbo next and it was very dark and thick just like I like it. Wife ordered raw oysters and they were good but I prefer Gulf Oysters and this were not. That may be the only suggestion I have for this place : have Gulf Oysters available as well. I finished with the Blue Crab Benedict and that was especially good, but I love “exotic” Benedicts and try to order them wherever I go. Again, don’t feel up on the cornbread (it’s that good), I only ate one of my two Benedict’s as a result of nonstop cornbread eating lol Last thing I would say is this is NOT Pappas/Pappadeux (which I love and eat once a week). This is more of an old school New Orleans vibe and definitely more upscale.
Lovely restaurant, atmosphere and great southern hospitality. Wonderful cocktails, great beer selection. We had to get the hand pulled burata, oysters grilled and raw, and a delicious seafood etouffe, and the Gulf Drum 🥁 🍤🦞🐟 amazing night. Will be back with family to try more delicious things :)
Great service, amazing food, no really amazing food! The crispy Brussels sprouts was something I didn't expect and wished I haff a bigger belly to eat more. If you like bacon, please try the cajun duck poppers, the cream cheese is something that you will want to order a jar to go of. Hearth roasted oysters will be a choice you wish you ordered more of. The jumbo gulf shrimp and grits, I hate grits, but I loved these. The sauce, it's just great. Smoked pork chop will not disappoint! Definitely one of my favorite things. Dessert, just pick what sounds good to you and it will not disappoint. Over all, great place, ambience is welcoming, very open feeling. Not cramped. We're definitely coming back!
We arrived for brunch about 5 minutes before they actually opened and the general manager let us in. Super accommodating and welcoming. Jasmine was our waitress and she was fantastic. Honestly the best wait staff I’ve ever encountered. The food was amazing and delicious. The drinks were smooth and strong. Everything was wonderful. We shared half dozen prestige oysters, Tabasco honey quail (fried bandera quail), the heath roasted roasters (with blue crab, shrimp, and breadcrumbs), and the soft shell crab cake on Texas toast. Drinks included puro pasion (spicy), Bramble, bees knees, and the sidecar. Sidecar is apparently signature and most popular drink. All freaking fantastic. Dessert: bread pudding (most popular and it was amazing) and the cheesecake (which was my favorite). Parking in the garage was validated and free. They also have valet parking for free as well.
This place was amazing along with the staff Saturday lunch time 1/3/24 the manager Give us a good sample of raw scallops which was delicious and the bar waitress was the best she was great. This place was a low key great restaurant with the amazing food and appetizers the vibe was great for couples and just enjoy the day I decently will return for a date Nate with my wife her family is from Eunice.
We started at the bar, and first impressions were top notch. The service at the bar was friendly, knowledgeable, and very perceptive to our needs. I had the Sidecar drink which was good, but then went with the signature Margarita which was very good, smooth and delicious. For lunch, we had a variety of starters, entrees, and desserts. The cornbread was perfect with the right amount of sweetness and textural crunch from the skillet. We also got a variety of oysters and paté. Both, very good. I had the shrimp and grits as my entree. It was very flavorful. Our lunch was a family gathering, and everyone there had a great experience! The atmosphere and food were excellent. I can't wait to go back!
Been here twice so far and this may be my favorite restaurant in Houston right now. Everything we’ve ordered has been great and the service is excellent. I’d especially recommend the honey fried quail, whole branzino, and the buttermilk ice cream/peach cobbler. Garage parking is available and reservations aren’t too difficult to get atm either.
Upscale but laid back Creole dining in an open airy setting. We were seated immediately and our service was excellent, attentive, without being intrusive. Drinks were excellent and came quickly. All tried different entrées and cleaned plates…after 2 wonderful apps. Desserts were yummy as well, but gone before pictures😋 As good if not better’n most of the similar restaurants we’ve enjoyed in Louisiana! Laissez bon temps roulette!
Brussel Sprouts from Heaven I can only speak for the dishes I got - brussel sprouts and the beignets. The former was much better than the later. The beignets were more edible because of the sauces, else I don’t think I’d have finished it. I’d give that dish a solid 3 or 2.4. The brussel sprouts make one want to be a vegetarian, even if it’s only for a day. Server was nice but I think he was new, which is ok because he made up for it by being nice. Great spot to go with friends. Overall 4.5 stars if I could
I dined here on Sunday, and I’m still on a foodie high from their food & their service!! Best restaurant I’ve eaten at in Houston THIS YEAR!! Our server was AJ, and he made feel like we were the only people dining even though the restaurant was packed. I started with the Hearth Roasted Oysters, those things literally melted in my mouth. There were 3 on the plate, and I had planned to save one for my friend who would be joining us later, but I ate all 3.... while waiting, we ordered a pair of the “sidecars”...on Eunice’s drink menu, I believe it’s a St. Landry. It was made very well, & had the cutest little duck perched atop, we kept those coming throughout our stay. Then came Dave’s World Famous Oyster shooters, the name is very well deserved. Dave came over to our table & served them himself. By the way, my fiancé does NOT eat oysters, however, he was very impressed with Dave’s Oyster shooters. The Tito’s vodka, lemon juice, and cocktail sauce just turns into an epic party in your mouth as it all goes down. Later I ordered the Dan, Dan Shrimp & he had the Shrimp & Grits. My shrimp looked like a dish served on food networks top chef, or chopped. The flavors that came from that plate simply made me fall in love with food all over again!!! The color & flavor palette served me so well. The grits from my fiancé’s plate were on point, creamy & flavorful! We also shared the Cajun duck poppers, I was so full from feasting on everything else I was only able to taste one of them, superbly tender, the flavor was truly exceptional. I’ve been dreaming about this place since the moment I left, I plan to revisit Friday because I cannot get enough of it! Great location, great ambiance, EXCELLENT MENU!!! I’m sure everything they serve is exceptional.
Best bread pudding in Houston! We enjoyed our visit here, showed up on Sunday without a reservation and there was room at the bar which was perfect. Bartender Dave was fantastic. Duck poppers were amazing and the Crab Benedict was unique and delicious. The best part was dessert, the bread pudding was perfect, brown sugar goo was delicious and not too sweet, and pecans added a perfect crunch. It’s really the best. Pecan cobbler was amazing too, though bread pudding wins for sure.
The food was phenomenal. We ordered the hand pulled burrata, Cajun duck poppers, shrimp and grits, and a couple dozen prestige oysters. The burrata was deliciously paired with pepper jelly, a great rendition of the cream cheese and pepper jelly my wife and I serve for guests at our home. The duck poppers were extremely flavorful and wrapped with bacon. The prestige oysters were so refreshing. Our server Erin was beyond words, kind and polite our entire meal. I appreciate efficient and competent service with a sincere smile above anything and Erin topped was five star on all counts.
Excellent lunch spot, date spot or whatever. The atmosphere was amazing, and the creole/Cajun dishes were sublime. I was very delighted with the appetizers as well as the main dish, the desserts were to die for, loved it. The servers were courteous, efficient and polite. Can't wait to return and I won't hesitate to recommending Eunice.
My first time at this restaurant for my niece’s birthday and it definitely won’t be the last. The ambiance is very welcoming and charming. Amazing wines, food and service. At least two managers came by to check on us. I believe our server was new, but was still fairly knowledgeable and made great recommendations. Please leave room for their bread pudding….DELICIOUS!!! I can’t wait till it gets a little warmer to enjoy their beautiful patio.
The atmosphere was great. The restaurant had a high end feel without making you feel like they are too good for you to wear jeans. The perfect mix. Also, every item on the menu was incredible. We had the pasta etouffee, the shrimp and grits, the duck, and the bread pudding. The meal made me want to come back to try the rest of the menu.
We aren’t huge creole foodies, but this place did not disappoint one bit. We loved our food! The food and the drinks were all top tier. And we didn’t want for anything, our servers were on their A Game. We have a shellfish allergy in our party and they even made accommodations to the menu and in the kitchen to keep us safe. Well worth the price!
From the moment I arrived, the ambiance was inviting. The crawfish pasta was rich and creamy without being showy—.And the roasted oysters? Let’s just say I almost forgot I was in a meeting. The service was gracious, the lighting was flattering- In short: a lovely evening, well executed. And yes—it’s a very good thing.
The ambience is great and the service is awesome. The food is excellent but it did take a considerable amount of time to reach the table which can be a dampener if you’re hungry. We were told there was a private party in the back room so the Kitchen was busy. Still rating it 5 stars because the overall experience was so great. I loved the shrimp & grits, and ohhh that cornbread, absolutely divine!
I came here off a recommendation with hesitation but it was actually really good. Creole food isn’t a cuisine that I generally lean towards but I felt like our guests would appreciate the flavor. The cornbread was dangerously delicious and the homemade pasta was perfectly al dente. Kate did a wonderful job making suggestions and giving enough information to make educated decisions based on each individual preference. It was super helpful it picking such a great spread. Here’s the things I would recommend from what we ordered: -Cornbread -Crawfish etoufee with homemade pasta -Red Snapper (topped with delicious “seafood crumble”) -Charred broccolini (FANTASTIC!) I wish I would have tried the bread pudding with coffee so someone else review it and message me.
I came here with my Mom and sister to celebrate my Mom’s birthday. I’ve always passed by Eunice but for some reason had never been. So glad we came! The food was delicious and the restaurant had a fabulous vibe. Eunice probably has the best wait staff I’ve ever experienced. Our waiter Thieu, was amazingly attentive and really elevated our dining experience! We will for sure be back.
What a wonderful restaurant! Came here to enjoy Cajun style cooking and it did not disappoint! The atmosphere is amazing and very romantic. When you leave the parking garage there is a beautiful oak tree at the front of the restaurant. Don't forget your parking validation if you self park. We had an amazing meal with delicious flavors. Cornbread - must do! It's delicious and more like a dessert. Big enough to take some home. Tuna tartare - wouldn't order again. Felt like it was more watermelon than tuna. Not worth it Chicken liver mousse - this was delicious! The flavor was rich with a delicious jam on top. The bread that came with it was also yummy. Gumbo - delicious 👏 Bistro filet - for a non steakhouse, the quality was surprisingly awesome. The flavor of the sauce and mushrooms was amazing. Potatoes were great. It's a gem in the city and I highly suggest checking it out for a romantic date.
Eunice never disappoints. It’s one of my go-to spots, because of the consistent quality. Seriously, everything is delicious, and the service is top notch. Even though the restaurant is aesthetically pleasing, the food also speaks for itself, and I appreciate that. My forever favorites are the cornbread, gumbo, and oysters… however, everythingggg is really good.
I had a busy work trip and finally had the opportunity to sneak away for dinner on my own. I decided to head to Eunice as I had a major hankering for creole food. It was deciding between fish or shrimp. I appreciated that the menu was short and simple. It's always an indicator the meals will always be consistently delicious as there aren't too many components on the menu. Cody was my server and his service was impeccable. We chatted for a long time and he provided several recommendations, while also displaying a high level of knowledge of the menu. He is as patient and allowed me to take my time ordering during the course of the visit. I narrowed my order down to the cornbread and the Shrimp and Grits. While the shrimp and grits were advertised as hot, it leaned more on the subtle side. There were slight kicks with each bite, but nothing too extreme. The portions of large shrimps and diced sausages were generous portions. The dark vibrant colored gravy was appealing. I would definitely order this entree again. This was a great experience and I look forward to returning again.
Our experience here was top notch from the beginning to the end. The greeting from valet to our waitress was amazing. Our waitress was attentive without hovering, very knowledgeable about the menu and her recommendations were spot on. We started with the raw oysters which were on sale during happy hour. They were the perfect size, very sweet and so fresh. Shucked right after we ordered them. Then we ate off the appetizer menu. The Dan Dan shrimp were tempura fried to perfection; the cornmeal fried oysters were served with a delicious sauce and the brussel sprouts were a little sweet and the crispy apple slices were a perfect pairing. I didn’t take a picture but I had the bread pudding and it was as close to my former mother in laws as I can remember. Highly recommend this place.
We came here for Sunday brunch and was pleasantly surprised by the level of service, the quality of food and the total aesthetic of this restaurant! Cody was our our server and offered great recommendations for our hungry bellies. Let me just say that the cornbread will make you want to slap your mama! It was the perfect balance of soft, sweet and crispy around the edges. You can tell that all the food was made with love 💕 We will definitely be coming back here.
Eunice is a truly delightful dining experience, offering a beautiful blend of charm, warmth, and elevated Southern flavors. The ambiance is absolutely stunning, bright, modern, and welcoming, with just the right touch of elegance that makes every visit feel special. The service is exceptional from start to finish. The staff is attentive, personable, and incredibly knowledgeable, making you feel genuinely cared for throughout your meal. The oysters were a standout…fresh, briny, and absolutely fantastic. They set the tone for a meal full of promise. As for the gumbo, it leaned a bit on the thicker side with the roux, which meant it could’ve used a touch more seasoning. Thankfully, a few shakes of hot sauce brought it right back to life and made it enjoyable…and we loved the cornbread! Overall, Eunice offers wonderful service, a gorgeous setting, and standout dishes that make it well worth the visit. With oysters this good, you’ll definitely find yourself coming back!
My husband and I came in to celebrate our anniversary and we absolutely loved it. Our server was Amanda, we had her select options for us to try, as we wanted to try as much as possible, and she served us amazing recommendations. Her service and knowledge truly made our first time here incredibly memorable and special. Our favorite selections were the scallops, the royal red shrimp, and the cornbread. We tried many other delicious options but those were our favorites. The bread pudding was our dessert and it was so flavorful and delicious. We definitely want to return and we’ll ask for Amanda when we do.
Best value for oysters and the rest of the happy hour offerings are great. We’ve been coming here many times and each plate is flavorful and just what you’d expect. Biscuits are amazing!
Fantastic and attractive restaurant in a great location. Ian provided friendly service and was really nice. Can't wait to go there again. Their cornbread and the accompanying butter was amazing!
Me encanto,y la comida fenomenal
Accesible
Un lugar agradable y muy hermoso
I had a really lovely experience at Eunice. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming stylish but not pretentious. The interior is beautiful, with soft lighting and elegant details that make it feel special without being over the top. The service was attentive and genuinely friendly. The staff took their time, explained the menu clearly, and made thoughtful recommendations. Everything felt well-paced and professional. The food was the highlight.
My wife and I dined in for our anniversary and I can confidently say we had a phenomenal evening. All of the food was amazing but the star of the show was definitely our server Amanda.D. We were greeted with warmth and kindness. We told Amanda that we are big foodies and that she had free rein of bringing us a coursed meal of her choice as long as we were able to enjoy as much of a diverse selection as possible. She went above and beyond with her coursing and complimenting dishes off of each other. We left perfectly satisfied. Not hungry or too full. Plus she had a happy anniversary card written for us along with dessert. 1000/10 would recommend, and ask for Amanda :)
Eunice was absolutely fabulous from start to finish. The chargrilled oysters were hands down the best I’ve ever had in my life. Service was speedy and genuinely awesome. Huge shoutout to our server Rocco, who made the whole experience even better. Every single detail hit. Can’t wait to come back!
Me and my husband went on 12/1/25 to celebrate 3 months being a newly wed. I want to really thank the manager and staff for making sure our visit was top tier. The drinks are so good and I’m so happy they were able to accommodate my crab allergy, so that I could enjoy eating oysters. Even though there a slight hiccup, the staff was very pleasant and still gave great service!! I’m so thankful! I can’t wait to come back soon. Thank you again.
Service was impeccable. I'm from the 337 where it's TRUE Louisiana cuisine. This is a decent representation of "fine" dining Louisiana. Different but tasty. We had a specific menu because we were part of a rehearsal dinner. We'll return to try other things on the menu that we found interesting.
Fui invitada a ir almorzar,y realmente me quedé enamorada de la buena comida y atención que me dieron,si lo recomiendo.
Excelente servicio y muy rica la comida 😊
Comidas
Servicio excelente, la comida deliciosa.
I got their gumbo version and the steak. There are creole flavor in the gumbo, but the dish came out to me too thick and a bit salty. The steak taste good, but I can't help but smell/taste that oilly flavor on the meat. The service, drinks, and ambient are exception though. Maybe it will be better if I get to try more options. 🤔
Disclaimer: I never give a perfect score to restaurants. However, Eunice was quite close today. Our service was great. Compliments to the waiter, Timothy. Plates were cleared well, water was never empty, and food came in waves at reasonable spacing. Oysters tasted fresh and delicious. Entrees were also delicious. In terms of pricing, many might say it’s overpriced but you have to take in account the beautiful setting and excellent service. Ambiance is a factor ppl! Salmon Rosti and Shrimp Etoufee was also highlights. Dessert was delicious. I’d recommend the bread pudding, an absolute to die for dish. Sweet, indulgent and seriously on the brink of a sugar high.
It was a great dinner. Our server Nathan provided such great service! Food is well thought of. He also surprised us with a great thought of providing us amazing dessert. I had a very awful shift at work and Nathan made our night with such a sweet gesture. We enjoyed our dining here! Oysters are so fresh and delicious. Will recommend and we will definitely be back. The ambience of the place is romantic and quite upscale.
Had a really great experience here. It's a classic uptown restaurant with an attentive staff and great creole food. I would recommend trying the Dan Dan Shrimps and Shrimps Etouffee. Apart from these amazing dishes, we ordered crispy brussel sprouts and Rohan Duck breast which were decent. All in all its a great place to unwind with your partner with an extensive wine menu and a really great creole food!
I did not eat here so cannot comment on the food as others have. I’m from Louisiana so I may be hypercritical anyway. That said, the atmosphere, service and drinks were all outstanding. Their whiskey selection is pretty good and reasonably priced. I especially enjoyed the old fashioned. The only negative was we could not keep a tab open which seems really odd.
Nice place for a date night, great service. The food was pretty good as well. We had the Gulf Fish and Pork chop as the entrees...and the fried oysters and "Dan Dan Shrimp" for appetizers. Everything was delish. We especially liked the shrimps and pork chop! The shrimp was nice and crunchy, and the sweet, tangy sauce helped cut the richness down a few notches. I only knocked out one star because the food took awhile to come out, but other than that...we would def come back to try the other items on the menu.
I was pleasantly surprised with this restaurant. Upon pulling up to the restaurant, I could tell that this was going to be a nice experience. The decor is very light and clean. You definitely get the sense of dining in a 4 star establishment. Appetizers were excellent. The lump crab cake was flavorful. The skillet cornbread was AMAZING! The butter/syrup combination on the top really took it to another level . The Duroc breaded pork had a perfect consistency of breading. It was light. The oil used to fry it was fresh. The kale on top was delightful. Even for someone who isn't a fan of excessive greens, it was a bright spot of the dish. The best part of this experience was the Shrimp Étouffée. The roux was bold. The color of the roux was deep, which leads me to believe this flavor profile was achieved over a longer period of time rather than just thrown together last minute. The shrimp were perfectly cooked, and the fried shrimp on top created the most beautiful contrast of texture. Although it wasn't traditionally served with rice, the spinach pasta was more enjoyable. They are smaller bits of pasta, so you won't feel overwhelmed by excessive starch. The only negatives that I would give this restaurant are the following: The potato salad served with the bowl of chicken and sausage gumbo was not proportionate to the serving size of gumbo. This actually made the gumbo less enjoyable. The size of the crab cake for the price paid was disgraceful. Don't forget to save room for the bread pudding! It is out of this world.
I was drawn to Eunice and it’s contemporary interior design whilst browsing brunch places on Google Maps. Safe to say this place didn’t let me down on a gustatory note. The dishes are flavorful and plated beautifully. Only drawback was the slow service at my time of dining, but it’s hard to blame when there was only one waiter serving 6-7 tables. The water glass was never empty and the restaurant was beautifully decorated. I’d recommend Eunice as a great date spot or a place to take your friends and family. I would come back.
I came here with three others on a Saturday for brunch/lunch in early February on a mild and sunny day. I was visiting Houston for the weekend from New York. A friend made the reservation a few days in advance but I don’t think one was needed as the restaurant was nearly empty. I honestly was not expecting to like this restaurant as I thought the emptiness was a sign of something; however, I really liked it! I really do not enjoy brunch and I was pleased to see their menu wasn’t filled with many boring brunch items. The server was really great and engaging (it probably helped that the restaurant had such few people dining). The food was really delicious and I loved the fusion element of the menu. We ordered multiple appetizers, each person had an entree as well as three drinks. Our bill came to about $125 per person. If I lived in Houston, I would go back to this restaurant and I would recommend.
Wonderful experience on a Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Shrimp and Grits was fantastic along side the cornbread and Charbroiled Oysters. Server seemed less and charitable offering vegan/vegetarian options. Otherwise and as long as we stayed on the menu script, it was a great evening.
Came here on Wed. afternoon. I valeted and the guys were so nice. The restaurant wasn’t crowded and I was seated right away. I’m a lemon drop martini girl so that’s what I ordered. It was just average. My entrée was the shrimp and grits with the skillet cornbread. The shrimp and grits was average tasting as well. I did like the grits. They were very creamy. The skillet cornbread was good and I liked the crispy outer layer. The honey butter was delicious. My waiter was helpful and attentive. I do think they are over priced.
Let me start by saying this place has a wonderful vibe. I must come for brunch and in the fall to enjoy the patio. Its strong suits are the atmosphere. I visited on a Saturday after brunch, around 3pm. The menu was limited.(dinner) However, we managed to find a few things we wanted to try, and It was just ok. Everything came lighting fast! I ordered the char-grilled oysters and the jalapeño poppers. The poppers were delicious! However, they all were about the size of the tip of my thumb! (5 total 19$) It was fancy, but it was just poppers! This restaurant has a lot of potential! Free valet! Just tip on your way out. (A lot of restaurants are doing this) You can tell it's in its infant stages as far as wait staff, greeters, and menu. My oysters were undercooked and bland. I shouldn't have to add anything to char-grilled oysters, but hot sauce if that's your preference! The drinks were a pleasant surprise! They taste wonderful if you're trying to do something light. I will be visiting again in the near future for brunch. #SelfieApproved
The server she did good I just think she had to many tables it took her a bit to go around all her tables and then to us. Food wise it tasted good just not what it costs, small portions. The menu had more beer and wine choices than food. I set up reservations a week prior for me and my wife and they sat us in a table made for like 4 to 6 people, and this was on the day before valentine's. The place was nice clean and all the workers always had a smile
I had very high expectations going into this restaurant this weekend. I was going to give only two stars. However, our waiter was so good such that he made up a lot of shortcomings of this restaurant in addition to the very nice atmosphere. We ordered our drinks at the bar while waiting to be seated. My friend didn't get a full taste of single malt Scotch because jigger was not washed out, and my dirty martini was not good at all. Except the appetizers I do not wanna talk much about the food because it was way below our expectations. I can accept all the things that I have mentioned above when giving reviews about the restaurants qualities however, one thing I cannot accept is when the staff starts cleaning out the dining room at 9:30 to close out while the patrons are still in the restaurant. It was so bad that as we were finishing our meals and drinks we were not only watching the staff cleaning but also trying to deal with the smell of Clorox!
Maybe I ordered the wrong thing but this overpriced "Cajun creole" was very underwhelming. I ordered the brussel sprouts which were delicious but I've had better elsewhere. The cast-iron cornbread was somewhat flavorful but I didn't care for the grity texture edges. I ordered a cup of chicken & sausage gumbo and I was presently surprised it came with potato salad since my husband is from NOLA and that's the way we eat it! The flavor was okay but had no spice or depth really. Service: Our server Jasmine was an absolute pleasure which got the 3 stars ad well as the atmosphere! The vibes are so beautiful but if creole cuisine is what you're craving .. for me it was a miss.
My first experience was June 19th for my BESTFRIEND's birthday dinner. I tried the bacon wrapped duck. Shockingly, it didn't taste so bad. It was an appetizer but very satisfying. I had shrimp etouffe with extra fried shrimp, and my best friend had their gumbo. She said my food tasted better than the gumbo. We had several drinks that were amazing above everything. I'd recommend this place for bar bites and drinks.
We went for an early Mother's Day celebration. Our waitress Ashley did a great job; unfortunately, the food was not what we remembered from our first brunch visit a few years ago. Each plate was saturated with grease, which took away from the depth of flavor. Ashley brought us a new bowl of shrimp and grits, which we appreciated, but food missed the mark.
Great atmosphere, good food. The prices do seem a bit high for the quality/portion, and some of the dishes felt a little off (the shrimp étouffée was fine, but not particularly flavorful, and I don't typically expect fried shrimp?). I also didn't appreciate the pushier service to take away plates before finishing. Definitely not in line with the price point. The gulf oysters were good.
Ashley was an awesome server and I really enjoyed her. The Charred Broccolini was very delicious and had a good crunch. The St Landry Sidecar was so well mixed I had three. The corn bread was very good and was a good portion to share for three people. The duck poppers were good but super small. The gumbo was not my favorite and I sent it back. Love a dark roux but it was burnt, lacked spice and needed a tad bit of salt. Only ordered the gumbo because it was highly recommended. Loved the bar layout and huge dimly lit lights which made the ambiance nice and cozy.
Small beyond small portions. However, what I had was delicious and for me to point out small portions it has to be very small portions and I don’t eat much. So, if portions is a big deal for you this is not for you. Everything else was perfect. 6 boiled shrimp for $26 is wrong. If they served 12 for $32 I could live with that. Drinks are great
Veré good
Upscale atmosphere and good service from the wait staff. Can’t say the same about the food though. We ordered corn bread, roasted oyster, charred broccolini, shrimp etouffee. We only enjoyed corn bread, which was buttery, flaky, with a hint of salty. The broccolini was over charred and seasoning was greasy, heavy. Poor execution of such a simple vegetable. Oysters were not the freshest and the aftertaste was weird. Shrimp etouffee was underwhelming at best compared to one we had at a little diner. For the price, We expected better from such a fine dining spot. Our least favorite fine dining experience ever. Come for the atmosphere and service, but definitely not the food!
I came here for birthday party and atmosphere was great and we had a good time. My only thing is that the food extremely below standard I had a gumbo, duck poppers, and they were extremely unsatisfying. I really enjoy the scenery however for what I paid for my food, I would have rather went somewhere else. Not sure if it was a bad night, but I can’t say I really had a good experience.
We went to celebrate Valentine’s Day, with an early reservation for 4:00. Even though the restaurant was mostly empty, we were sat at what looked like the most awkward, uncomfortable table in the restaurant: right next to the server’s POS station and the patio door, and near the kitchen. It was just a weird place to sit when so many of the tables in more comfortable places were open. Also there seemed to be a lot of urgency from our server to get it and out. Understandably, they were expecting a big rush for the holiday, so it wasn’t a big deal to put our appetizers and mains in on time. But, letting us know it was so there wasn’t a gap between our appetizers and entrees being on the table and that they were expecting 400 seats made it clear they were in a rush, amongst other little things, which made it harder to focus on the afternoon for me. The entrees were both really good, both appetizers were just alright (maybe a little less so), and the table location and rush made us choose to have dessert elsewhere.
En esta ocasión, el servicio muy lento,el plato que comip mi esposa, muy salado
I came in a group of 10 people and ordered a filet medium well and came very cold... went back and came cutted like in 8 pieces, but was very cold again... they made a new one and came rare... I did retunred and decide no to take anything else since my already finished their lunch. They offered to fix it but it was too late. Not good for a restaurant with premium prices.
