Preguntas frecuentes sobre El Jardín
Opiniones de El Jardín Elk Grove
My family and I stopped by El Jardin for dinner on a quiet Wednesday night. Right off the bat, they handed my toddler a drawing pad (parents, you know that’s a lifesaver). We ordered a Carne Asada burrito bowl, a Carne Asada burrito, and a kids’ chicken tenders meal. Everything was delicious — even the ranch was bomb-dot-com. My daughter loved it so much she asked to take some home, and the super-friendly staff hooked us up with not one but two fresh ranch cups! The fries were also fresh and beer-battered. Yum! The Mexican food itself? Spectacular. You can taste how fresh everything is — crisp veggies, and juicy steak that jut came off the grill. My only complaint - I could’ve used a bit more meat… but with today’s prices, I get it. Next time, I’m ordering double-meat. I also had a margarita that was strong (in the best way) and found out they have a happy hour! Our total was about $50 before tip — a little splurgey, but worth it for a night where I didn’t have to cook. So happy this gem is on our side of town — we’ll definitely be back whenever those Mexican food cravings hit.
The food was pretty good, andnthey have a nice selection beyond the typical Mexican staples like tacos and quesadillas. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the side salad, and the pollo con crema was delicious and flavorful. The service was quick and friendly. I would recommend this place.
This is one of our favorite mexican food restaurants in Elk Grove. We always get the guacamole and flour tortilla chips. They have a unique cabbage salsa to that is tasty. They serve it next to there traditional salsa.
Lovely place with wonderful decor and atmosphere. Excellent quality Mexican cuisine with great employees.
Local Mexican food for me, I have been coming here for many years, great bar too for cocktails and beer. Only place I know where perimaid heffenwiesen is served. My personal favorite for Mexican food. Great service always.
Very nice staff. Chicken fajita soup was just what I needed on a cold day.
Fantastic place to eat. The waiter today was super cool. I had carnitas with refried beans and rice with the corn tortilla. Just overall great.

I ordered online. It was ready when they said it would be. Very good food.
Family owned and operated, El Jardin has become my go-to place. Many of the staff have been there since it opened, which tells me they know how to take care of their people. We're always greeted warmly when we get there and even though there's a wait to be seated sometimes it's never bad. Im im happy that they have folks waiting because it means the restaurant is so good people are willing to wait. Service is always fast and friendly. I can't think of one time its been otherwise and I've been there literally hundreds of times. I bring friends/family from out of town there, as well as meet my closest friends there to catch up and enjoy time together. I go there with my family. I've even gone on my own just to have a nice meal on my own. I will always highly recommend this gem.
The burrito was delicious! I didn’t realize it was going to have sauce over it, but it was very tasty!!
I appreciate how hard the staff worked to ensure my order was perfect upon delivery....even calling to double check and make sure what they received was correct! The food is ALWAYS excellent and the Customer Service is top notch! Thank you!

Awesome place to come for a margarita and appetizer. This is just what I wanted on this Sunday afternoon. Since it was middle of the afternoon, there was no wait whatsoever….we were seated promptly by the waiter and quickly given some water. We ordered house margaritas on the rocks with salt and these were made excellently! We also ordered some chips and salsa which came with some kind of side of cabbage slaw which sounds kind of odd but if you add a bit of the salsa to it, it totally works! Just trust them and try it…that’s all I can say. We also shared a chicken quesadilla which came with a generous heap of guac and sour cream. Chicken was shredded and moist and it was cooked to a perfect crisp. Oh and it also included a side of their delicious warm green salsa, perfect for dunking your quesadilla in. Easy in and out and my thirst and belly were happy! Great local go to Mexican place!

We ordered for pick-up. The chicken street tacos. The chicken was not too dry and had exceptional flavor. I will definitely order these again.
First time ordering from this location, ordered the chicken fajitas and an order of the fresh guacamole. Spent 9 dollars on this fresh guacamole and they didn't give me enough chips to scoop it up . The flour tortillas were so dry that we weren't able to eat them. It's like they were sitting out for a long time. The Manteca location is better

2of us had chili renős and sauce not real tasty and they put cojo cheese in it and real salty. The chicken chulupa was good and carnitas were good, Spanish rice not authentic tastes like uncle Ben's 5min. rice. Ooh salsa was good too. So some of us were happy. Service was very nice, polite & very fast prompt service. restaurant was super nice and clean.
To start, the chips and salsa was very delicious. The meals were hit and miss. 2 people in our party liked the taste of their meals but they said they were served cold. The 3rd person felt there wasn't nearly enough meat in his burrito. 2 other people in the party enjoyed their meal, although one agreed there could have been more meat. The last person ordered an enchilada dish and it surprisingly came with a salad on top of the enchilada, which wasn't what he expected when eating an enchilada. The service was good and the atmosphere was nice.

Update for 13 Sep 2023 We were the only customers, but it was 130pm. Took quite some time to get chips and salsa, and when we did the chips had no flavor and the salsa was too spicy. Personal opinion on spiciness of food, as I'm not a big jalapeño fan. They brought a small bowl with mainly cabbage in it to compliment the salsa. No explanation was given about the cabbage but when asked was told it can be used to "tone down the salsa." The restaurant is clean and it's a nice atmosphere. Parking is very easy. The food we had today leaves something to be desired. We had steak Chimichaga. It was a very large portion, but it was all Tortilla; hardly any meat or other filling, and just tasted like a big roll of soft dough. It wasn't crisp, and the lettuce it was served on seemed wilted. They'd do better to make a smaller Chimichanga, fill with enough meat that it's at least visible, and use more garnish. The beans were fine for my husband, on the spicy side for me. The rice was good but not enough on the plate. Missing Cicada! 2020 Review: Gave Four Stsrs My four and a half stars rating is based partly on the fact that this restaurant is in Elk Grove, and we haven't been happy with the choice here, until today. The restaurant is clean and light. The service was very good and most importantly the food was nicely presented and tasted very good. Delighted to have finally found good Mexican food in Elk Grove. I would caution that the booths offer ample elbow room for two, but might be a bit tight for a party of four.
White washed Mexican food, bland but not oily. Seems like they tried to make a healthy alternative but couldn't even use spices? I'm confused, I appreciate the health oriented view but not using oil to cook your food isn't going to improve your health, cutting the sugar is. Which I'm glad they did even though my horchata was sad. My chimichanga was pork and it was rather dry and pork had no flavor; not sure they even used salt... I wouldn't recommend unless you're on a depression diet.

Nothing exciting about the food. Was expecting more flavor & spice. Food was pretty bland. Worst part is that my mom's veggie fajita dish had a piece of chicken in it & she's a strict vegetarian. It put her off finishing her food. Very disappointing.
We were here several years ago and the food was good. But, today it was not. Burritos were dry, no sauce like menu said. Refried beans were way too spicy, which they shouldn't be. Salsa hot hot! No offer of mild sauce. Won't be returning.
