Best pasta in the city
Great food!
Great Italian food
Great Italian Restaurant
Absolutely delicious
Best Vitello tonato I've ever had!
Soho is home to a lot of great restaurants, you don't have to walk far to get to anyone of them. This one in particular serves wonderful food in a more laid back atmosphere allowing you to thoroughly enjoy your food without pretense. I've only been here once so I can't cover their entire menu except for the items we had, but I have to say - their brick oven margarita pizza was the best pizza I have ever tasted. Both my wife and I thought a couple of times about taking one to go. The grilled seafood dish was perfectly done which is a nice feature considering there were 4 different types of seafood on the plate. I had a creme brulee with coffee for dessert and one would think I was in Italy tasting the freshness of the cream. Overall it's a great place to go - and I highly recommend it.
Great addition to the Upper West Side. We often patronized this restaurant when it was in it's Soho location. Since it's move to uptown it's a much needed piece to the area. Food is obviously top-shelf and supreme. Pastas always fresh as well as any seafood food dish we order! Highly recommend this to anyone needed that hometown Italian fare.
When I went to Mezzogiorno during restaurant week with a good friend, I was pleasantly surprised with everything. Both my friend and I commented that the food was extremely great. It was the right portion, and the taste was excellent. Factoring in the price, it's not too expensive either. The decor can be tight around some areas, but you can definitely come here on a date, and have a nice conversation without worrying about too much noise. The service was the best part about the place. The staff was nice and attentive, but at the same time, they were not overbearing and pushy. Many places struggle to find that balance with service, but I believe Mezzogirono hit the mark. I would absolutely recommend that anyone come here for a dinner and a drink, especially on a date in Tribeca.
Everything was perfect...steak was perfectly done, and try their pasta with pear in it- it adds just the right amount of tanginess! The atmosphere is great as well, and the people that work there are friendly and will happily make accommodations to please you! I can't wait to go back!
For me one of the best dining experience among Italian restaurants in NYC in 2010! Over the course of the past few years I had been drawn again and again in this place. Relaxed atmosphere, right service (not too casual and not too overbearing), fresh and high quality brick oven pizza and a decent wine list. Two thumbs up for Mezzogiorno!
This is a real gem in soho. I absolutely love this place and go here frequently. It is bar none the best Italian restaurant in New York. The ambience is very cozy and the decor is very nice. I love every single dish here but my favorite is are: Mozzarella Di Bufala Con Pomodoro E Basilico buffalo mozzarella with fresh tomato and basil, Polpettine Di Melanzane Al Caprino Con Insalatina Di Campo eggplant croquettes with goat cheese and field salad, Penne and Margarita Pizza. You will not regret coming to the place and best of all it's very inexpensive.
I come here for lunch at least twice per month - I love it so much! It's great to sit outside and people watch while munching away on their Fiochetti y pera or Marechiaro pizza. Absolutely delicious. The small cookies they give at the end are a great way to round of the meal.
A classic Italian restaurant. I visited New York and a friend of mine recommended to me. Magnificent food and service. Everything is classic, food is amazing and service was excellent too. Veal Ossobuko was great, Malcom was our waiter and he recommended that dish for Me. Thank you guys
Wow! Spectacular food, very good service. The mixed antipasta and gnocchi with spicy sausage tomato sauce were spectacular. A must try in the neighborhood.
The food was excellent. We had the shrimp pizza and crab taglioni. Have not had any better! Service was friendly and thorough. Giovanni was excellent.
Authentic Northern Italian cuisine and Tuscan wines. Extra-virgin olive oil, without any doubt is the best in NYC. We dined last year in a Michelin star Tano passami l'olio in Milan which specializes serving different olive oils with different 6+ courses and thought that Mezzogiorno's handpicked oil from a small olive grove near Florence deserves a star, too. As a tradition, immediately after dropping off luggage in a hotel in Venice we always go for lunch to another Michelin star Ristorante Quadri. In NYC, only Mezzogiorno offers Mozzarela di Buffala, pasta with fresh Vongole in an original Venetian sauce and other Northern Italian, mostly Florentine dishes prepared using original centuries old recipes. Try prosciutto with literally anything Mezzogiorno offers for a quick brunch, lunch or whatever. Just that with a piece or two of pizza and a glass of wine from a great Mezzogiorno's selection from more than a couple of regions. If you want to feel like in Tuscany I recommend any of the Frescobaldi wines or share a bottle of Barolo if you'd rather be in Piedmont. Naturally, start off with a glass of Prosecco or Bellini and you'll find yourself in Venice. Can't wait to go to Mezzogiorno again. Soon, maybe this week:-)
There are two reasons to come here: First, the calamari salad is one of my favorite calamari dishes in NY. Second: their home-made pastas, which are cooked perfectly al dente every time—the taglioni with crab is the best.
Interesting, serious Italian cooking. Fabulous beef shank dish, imaginative salads and truly great thin crust pizzas, enough for 1 or 2.
Simply Spectacular!. This famous SoHo haunt has lost none of its lustre in its new digs uptown. I highly recommend the "Trenette alle Vongole". Also if you're keen on a digestif, try the Amari (It's powerful and delicious)
Wonderful atmosphere and great food. In my experience it's lively Friday and Saturday night but nearly empty during the rest of the week
Been here twice and it was amazing both times! Great food and service! Reasonably priced.
Absolutely delicious food. Bartender Victoria was great!! A definate must do again.
we happened in last night at about 10pm and it was a comfortable as an old shoe. food was fine, service was fine, everything was fine.
Amazing place!!! Great appetizers and wonderful pizza. Service was amazing.
Always a great meal at Mezzogiorno. One of our favorite restaurants in NYC.
nice middle priced SoHo Italian;extensive menu;like paying a visit to a bistro in the Old Country
Wonderful atmosphere, delicious food and great service. I'll be back.
Excellent service. Great food. Yummy dessert.
Nice space, good service and OK food (Tiramisú was superb, though)
Enjoyable atmosphere and solid food.
Pizza was pretty good
Delicious food!
Très bonne cuisine à l italienne.... personnel très accueillant et aimable, prévoir 100 dollars pour un dîner à deux.... (antipasti, plat, café, bière)
Es un sitio agradable, la comida no es tan espectacular. No fue lo esperado.
Bra italiensk mat, snabb service och trevlig personal
Very tasty Italian fare at reasonable prices in a swell, efficient venue. Robust value and a good fun time, too. Consistently good after our 8th visit - an Upper West Side reliable now, to be sure!
Went here for dinner on Friday, LOVED IT so much we went back on Saturday for my Birthday, food was amazing, but we were very disappointed with the $90 bottle of wine that we couldn't swallow we drank a glass each due to the price, but could not finish. Disappointed we were not reimbursed anything for the terrible wine. Other then that, we loved the service and food.
Great casual Italian dining. Good wine list, good food, all in a relaxed setting.
Excellent food and sunny atmosphere. Underutilized for lunch. Should be more people there!
Some of the best and most consistent pasta dishes in the city!
The service is good and the place is nice and clean. My friends I was with liked their food but the lasagna wasn't good for a restaurant it could have been way better. Also the steak was okay
Good old standby. Can't go wrong here.
Way too noisy.
Awsome
Good and bad
Service was awful- took our food before we were finished but food just okay - they could have it. They asked if there was a special occasion - it was our anniversary - no acknowledgement.
