Amazing place with lovely patio and beautiful lodge-style interior. Everything is about the area, history and connection to the community. I appreciate this attention and contributions to the land. Everything is made of wood inside. Great place for stopping by on the way to Sequoia National Park, King Canyon or Kern River campgrounds. The beer is great! There is a choice for everyone: from stouts to IPA, from sours to lagers. Attention to the details is what make this place special. I order flies and they were presented in the kayak-trays. Isn't it awesome. Food is also good. Service was great. Fast, friendly and helpful.

We got a classic bacon cheeseburger and their sequoia red ale. Let me tell you that that was the best burger I’ve eaten so far in the us, perfectly cooked, All the ingredients were balanced, the bread wasn’t overwhelming just the right texture and amount, the meat was juicy … what else to say? Oh yes, outstanding waffle fries, great service and really nice location. Go try it yourself… run!!!

It was super busy tonight yet the staff made this out of towner and his wife feel right at home. The Kern Burger was cooked to perfection and the waffle fries were alil too hot, Be warned they dont get fresher then that. Chill vibes good food, relaxed servers not pushy. Check em out

Really big menu full of delicious items and a great beer selection. We tried a little bit of everything and the flatbread definitely stuck out as our favorite. The wings were good as well and all of the beers were good but my favorite was the Church Hazy

OK we went 3 times! both restaurants! Ordered the Harvest Quinoa Bowl, Smoked salmon bowl one day. Back the next for Root Beer floats and shared the Loaded beef potato wedges. These were at the Backyard Restaurant. The 3rd day we went inside the Original Pub and ordered the bacon Cheeseburger and Pear Cider. Awesome place

Cute place to enjoy a meal and good drinks! Service was amazing, our waitress so attentive. Beer and root beer so good! So enjoyed our time!! Great place to relax.

The food was incredible. I definitely recommend getting the lil mama or the big daddy burger, the bacon-jalapeño jam on these burgers add a lot of flavor and bite. It was so yummy I finished everything. The bratwurst was good as well. The downside was the service. It took much too long to be attended to at the front, and it took awhile to get for them to get our order while seated. They also gave us the wrong order at first and took long to fill our drinks. And there were bikers were their feet up on the chairs. Impeccable food but they should better their service skills.

We have been to a lot of breweries so maybe we set the bar too high. My husband got the Kern Burger and I got a bacon cheeseburger. My daughter ordered the Olympic Pita and my son a hot dog with apple sauce. Nothing was bad, but nothing was great either including the beer. Their homemade root beer was good. If everything else is closed, I wouldn't hate going back, but I wouldn't go out of my way either. Service was fine but it was a bit warm inside.

The beer is good. I’ve been here a few times and this most recent visit was disappointing. Service was bad, food was bad. We had fun because we were with friends and drinking good beer but we can do that lots of other places. The brewery didn’t add anything to the day.

The service was awful!! I have dined here before and the service was ok, just ok, this particular day the service was BAD!!! i was very disappointed!!! Someone at our table accidentally knocked over a ice tea, the waitress came over and gave us a rag to clean it up, this is how you treat your customers by turning them into your cleaning crew, and on top of that the waitress didn't even offer to refill the ice tea, I'm a proud citizen of the KRV and this was disgraceful!!! Please address this situation according!!!

Here, I experienced racism for the first time in my life. For two consecutive summers, I worked near Kernville, and on our days off I used to go with my friends to Kern River Brewing Company, as it was one of the few decent restaurants in the area. The first year my experience was good: I enjoyed the food and the service was fine, so I never imagined what would happen the following summer. The second year was very different. On one occasion, I arrived with my friends, we went in, sat down, and ordered. I asked for a hamburger and a soda. After that, I went to the main area to use the restroom, and when I came out, I noticed several uncomfortable stares. I assume it’s not common to see a young, brown-skinned Mexican man with an accent in that place. I returned to the table, and shortly after, my friends’ food arrived… except for mine. Several minutes passed before the waitress came over to tell me that my hamburger would be ready soon, that there had been an issue in the kitchen. In the meantime, I drank my soda. The hamburger never arrived. When we asked for the check, the waitress handed me my order in a to-go box and told me they wouldn’t charge me for it. At that moment, I truly believed it had been a mistake in the kitchen and didn’t think much of it. I never imagined it wouldn’t be an isolated incident. A couple of weeks later, I went back, because there were literally no other decent options nearby. And yes, the same thing happened again: I ordered my meal and never received it. My friends, all white Americans, got their meals without any issues. Even though I was already upset, I still tried not to take it personally. But something else happened that day. Throughout my entire stay, while my friends were eating, I noticed a couple of people at another table who would not stop staring at me. Their looks were not curiosity—they were looks of contempt. At that moment, I remembered what I was told when I first arrived: “This is a very conservative town.” That’s when everything became clear. I felt a knot in my stomach, a deep sense of disgust. I had always thought racism was something from the past or something you only see in movies—exaggerated or distant. That day, I learned that it is real, that it exists, and that it hurts. Never in my life I had felt so humiliated, so out of place, and so dehumanized. It wasn’t just a hamburger that never arrived—it was the feeling of not being welcome for who I am. And that wound, even though invisible, stays.

This is my first bad review, I have ever written. I’m a very positive person. Which is why is why, this review might come to a surprise. My experience was so bad, that I was left with no choice. I’m writing this review in hopes that the owners see it, and address this matter appropriately. I take my employees to Remington Hot Springs often! We always, go eat here after, because it’s my favorite restaurant in kernville! We walked in, and were all greeted accordingly. Server came, and took our drink order in a timely manner, but tried to walk away, right away, without offering appetizers. I asked for her to return while she was walking away, so we could order appetizers. I believe we ordered Three appetizers. That was the last we saw of this server. Another server started coming to serve us. I do remember names, but I won’t mention them here. After the appetizers were delivered, service went down hill. I got up in two different occasions to ask for things. Once, to get a refill on beer, for the four us. Second, to ask for soda. At this point I asked for the Manager. I explained to her what happened, and she offered to take certain items of the bill. I said no thank you. I would just like to speak to the owners. She mentioned, that they weren’t present, and gave me an email address to reach them. I paid the bill, left a tip, and went home very unsatisfied!
