Stopped by for Sunday afternoon lunch. Food was great tasting and very fresh! I ate the chicken chipotle and my GF had the french dip. Highly recommend both choices!
My go to is the chicken southwest sandwich. It's always good. And of course...the tea. Always tastes freshly brewed. The cashier was pleasant, service with a smile.

We had over a 100 hungry blue collar workers to feed for a company appreciation lunch. Jeremy and his team did a great job making that happen, food was ready and on time. Sandwiches were really good too! Thanks Jeremy!

I’m 38 years old from Houston, and before this job brought me to Port Arthur, I had never actually been inside a McAlister’s Deli. I had only tried a McAlister’s Club once before when someone brought it to us on a late night job. That sandwich was good, so when I saw this place nearby, I figured I’d give it a shot. That was over two months ago. Since then, I’ve been coming in once or twice a week, and every single time I’ve had the same experience. Not once have I had a bad visit. The service I’ve gotten here is better than anything I’ve had at any other restaurant. I’m not talking about someone just handing you your food. I mean real customer service. There are two people in particular, Jeremy and Lilly, who truly seem to enjoy what they do. From the second you walk in, it’s all smiles and positive energy. It doesn’t feel forced. It feels like you’re being taken care of by friends. They don’t just take your order and move on. They check in with you while you’re eating. They actually care. I know Chick-fil-A has a reputation for friendly service, but I’ve been to a lot of Chick-fil-As, and this McAlister’s blows them all out of the water. I can’t speak for any other location, but this one right here has set the bar high. If I owned a restaurant, Jeremy and Lilly are exactly the kind of people I’d want on my team. Now that the job is wrapping up and I’m heading back to Houston, I can honestly say I’ll miss this place. I’ll miss the food, but even more than that, I’ll miss the people who made this spot feel like a little break from a long day at work. 10 out of 10.
McAlister’s never disappoints. The spuds are delicious. I love their broccoli cheddar soup! And the sweet tea is always on point. They have many healthy options on the menu which is not the norm for a “fast food” joint. Though I don’t think I would put it in the same category as fast food, their service is on par with a Chik-Fil-A. I had the pick two, or choose two I don’t remember their wording. Broccoli Cheddar soup and half a Spud Max. It was delish!
This place is more than just a Deli. It is an outstanding quick-service haven for mouth-watering sandwiches that are both traditional, as well as having more exotic options for those that have a more adventurous taste. IMO, from timeless classics that they put their own spin on such as the BLT, French Dip, and Pastrami sandwiches, to more original oddities such as the Cuban, McAlister's exudes quality and flavor with everything that I can observe and taste. The only complaint that I have; their Chicken and Dumplings soup is a bit bland, but that is absolutely minor, their sandwiches are the real star of the show, and it seems to me that you really can't go wrong with any of them from the menu. Even though it's a "quick-service" restaurant, with no expected Tableside service, they still had a gentleman come by and individually ask customers if they needed or wanted anything to enhance their dining experience. Amazing service, we left a tip for that. Back to their menu, the McAlister's Club and King Club seem to be amongst the famous of them all. Quality, quality, quality! Without a doubt, come here and try it yourself. You'll always see a line here, and for good reason. Five Stars.

Update: Service has seriously started to decline…see updated post! The Chef Salad at McAlister’s never disappoints…so delicious and no extra charges to add roasted pepper trio and purple onions to make it just right …yum!
Everything tasted really fresh and our food came to us quickly.
We frequent this place often and although they changed managers or owners a while back it is gradually getting better than what it first was when the new management took over. Originally when they took over it went downhill really quick! But now it's changed and Foods coming out more consistent and the errors or mistakes that happen are less and less. 👌
If you are after a quick and easy sandwich then this is your place. There is plenty to choose from. The black Angus is a good choice. Chose a side dish…. I opted for the ‘Mac & cheese’ the menu is a good size. Store membership is also available to people to purchase. There is alot to choose from at this establishment.
Had the kids spud, southwest Turkey melt, Black Angus Club, bowl of Broccoli cheddar soup, and a nacho basket. All of us had their amazing sweet tea. Not busy at all. Please like and rate my review if it helps you... thanks
Getting my tires rotated next door and went to eat while waiting. I was the first customer and after eating went to the restroom and for having just opened and the only customer in the store the men’s restroom was in serious need of cleaning. It’s obvious it was not cleaned before opening for the day. Food was good but the chicken tortilla soup was just ok but the restroom stands out in my experience. Sorry!
The air ducts, and ceiling fans need a deep cleaning. Very uncomfortable eating under the dusty and moldy looking ventilation system.
I waited over 20 minutes for 2 sandwiches and didn’t even get a pickle with either of my sandwiches. Really disappointed. Do better.
Food is great but service is terrible. I ordered an Italian sub but got a French dip instead. I am so angry.
Ordered online.. “ready in 15 mins” Lies. Waited almost an hour maybe closer to 45min weak sauce. this place just isn’t what it used to be. No pickle spear, no avocado or lettuce on my sandwich. Spend close to $40 gas prices too high to drive back and the help there doesn’t seem to be in the customer service business. I’m not going back again. Sick of spending money at places that can’t get right. I wanted to leave no stars but won’t let me post without one.
