The food here is so good. I visited before ordering and when I walked in you can see directly into the kitchen and it was SPOTLESS! This is what sealed the deal for me. I live near by so we ordered for delivery and the packaging is very sustainable and that I appreciate very much. Order directly from the site for their specials!

Loved the Lomo a la Huancaina - Noodles were cooked to the perfect texture and the beef was tender. More so the flavors were nothing I ever tasted before - It was my 1st time ordering and I plan to order again. Also loved the Chaufa - I have ordered this before and each time the rice is always so flavorful = Reliable go 2 dish. Keep up the good work Caudy's Kitchen :)

I have been eating the delicious food at Claudy’s ever since it opened and the quality and prices have remained consistent right along with the flavors! I can’t get enough of their empanadas, chaufa and pollo a la brasa!! Dining in is a special treat because everyone there is so friendly and service is fast!!! Take out also never disappoints because the portions are ample and then I have leftovers!!! I just ate there tonight and can’t wait to go back!!!

Sweet spot. The food was all reallllly fresh. Got the quarter dark, the frijoles canarios and the zucchini and peppers. Everything was so fresh. and hot! What a great fresh home cooked feeling meal.

Stopped here on mile 80 of a 100 mile bike ride, it was perfect. Would probably also go if I had biked 0 miles that day.

If you like good food and warm hospitality, just come eat here. Food is authentic and just simply delicious. Try everything (but hopefully not in one sitting, unless you are a competitive eater…). For normal people, worth coming back to again and again.

First time ordering from Claudys kitchen, the food took over an hour until it was ready which is fine, I usually take that as a good sign. Just be prepared if you’re in a rush! The food was delicious and the staff were very friendly. You can tell this is a family owned restaurant. Make sure to get the green hot sauce. My only gripe would be that the empanadas are small for the price. Otherwise, there are no complaints. I will be ordering from here again.

As a Peruvian I have been to a fair share of Peruvian restaurants and also recently to Peru as well but I have to say this place takes the crown for best chicken. The food is incredible and you can tell that everything is made in house. I absolutely loved the food as well as the experience and would personally like to thank the owners for making my friend and I feel at home. I will definitely be coming back with my family. Thank you!!!!!!!

My family loves Claudy’s! The chicken, the empanadas, ceviche, rice etc etc are all delicious and very well prepared. Highly recommend!!

I called to see if seating was available today for lunch. They held a table for 2, as I was 15 minutes away. The food was fantastic. Even my daughter enjoyed it. She can be picky. Everything was delicious. She had the Lomo Saltado. I had the chicken with Yuca fries and the shrimp Chaufa. The shrimp was plentiful in the rice :) The portion was decent. I brought some home so my wife could try it. She was impressed. Definitely will be back to try something new.

Been there a couple weeks ago and really enjoyed the meal! The chicken is s juicy and crispy, which according to their owner we chatted with is due to a special oven they use. Empanadas and flan were also quite tasty! Definitely recommend this place.

I've been coming here for years now. Love at first taste. The service and quality of food is always exceptional. Today I brought my daughter for the first time and she loved it as well. Please check them out if you're in the neighborhood. I recommend their chicken (wirh that amazing green sauce), chaufla and chicha morada.

Everything I have ever ordered for takeout or dine-in at the restaurant is DELICIOUS and I wish I could eat at Claudy’s every day! Everyone who works there is super nice and they make sure their customers receive only the best- And the price for the quality of their food is truly unbelievable! Claudy’s is a true gem and I’m so grateful they are in our neighborhood!

My third time at this establishment. I brought my daughter and my gf, we ate the family combo with chaufan, yuca fries, we got fish ceviche, two empanadas and shared the vanilla flan. Everything, and I mean everything was absolutely delicious. Also, the flan is absolutely superior, the texture is perfect. You definitely need to check this spot out. Enjoy!

Pescado Frito was amazing, super flavorful and perfectly cooked. Crispy one the outside and still perfectly cooked inside. Chicken was not dry and tasted great as well.

The food was excellent second only to what we had in Peru itself! The staff was attentive and helpful, and I think even one of the chefs stopped by our table to explain some of the dishes. It’s very clear they care a great deal about the food they make, and they take pride in their work. The food was excellent. We had a beef empanada, which was very tender and flavorful, their signature lomo saltado, their roast chicken, and some refreshing chicha morada to wash it all down. The two of us finished our lunch and rolled out of there, very satisfied and full!

I was pleasantly surprised by how amazing the food was at Claudy’s Kitchen! Tucked away in the Bronx, this hidden gem exceeded all my expectations. We ordered the ceviche and arroz chaufa, and both dishes were packed with flavor—fresh, vibrant, and absolutely delicious. What makes the experience even more special is that Claudy herself cooks everything, bringing an authentic and personal touch to each dish. You can really taste the love and care she puts into her food. The service was excellent as well. Our waiter was not only friendly but also very knowledgeable about the restaurant and the menu. A big thank you to Kamy, who was amazing throughout our visit! If you’re looking for a spot with incredible food and warm, attentive service, Claudy’s Kitchen is a must-try.

This is the BEST Peruvian rotisserie chicken we’ve ever had. The taste is perfect and it is not overly seasoned. It was so good, I ended up eating half a chicken 😅. My wife had the chicha drink which she thoroughly enjoyed. We shared a passion fruit flan and guess what? It was delicious. The service was great and we plan to return in the near future. Went back yesterday 4/26/25 and we had lomo saltado and ceviche with two chicken empanadas. Everything was delicious 😋. The beef was tender and fresh, we can tell Claudia uses fresh and high quality products. The ceviche was perfect and the empanadas were great. Like on our first visit we bought a whole chicken to go, since we make the drive all the way from Queens. There are many Peruvian rotisserie chicken restaurants in Queens but your chicken is the best. Thank you for the great service! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The food is always delicious and fresh here. This is my go to place for a rich in broth chicken soup - Simple but packed with flavor. The empanadas de chorizo and papa are also packed with flavor and the perfect bite size, I recommend dipping it into their house made ají verde sauce. Lastly, their beef lomo saltado is juicy and tender, the fries are nice and crisp with the perfect amount of sauce. If your looking for desert their flans are great, I recommend the vanilla. Overall 10/10.

I was able to bring a group of more than 20 high school students to this restaurant for delicious Peruvian food and impeccable service in June 2025. I was completely impressed, not only with the quality and presentation of our dining options, but also by the commitment to communication and guest satisfaction. On behalf of my entire group, thank you most sincerely to the staff, including Richard and Claudy. And for anyone headed there soon - the empanadas verde and the coffee flan are not to be missed!

Where do I start? Claudy’s Kitchen is hands down the best Peruvian restaurants in the Bronx! The chaufa rice is amazing and the empanadas are so flavorful! Chef Claudia and her husband Richie are the nicest couple I’ve ever met. My daughter wanted to learn about Peruvian cuisine and Chef Claudia took time out of her busy schedule to talk about traditional/popular Peruvian dishes. We even got a chance to learn how to make chaufa rice! My daughter hasn’t stopped talking about the restaurant since we left! What better place to get Peruvian food than Claudy’s Kitchen??? The family is from Lima, which is the capital of Peru! Love supporting our local business and it’s nice to know that they support our community as well by participating in Friendly Fridge. ♥️ Thank you Berroa Family!!!!!

Stumble upon greatness. This is a must try hidden gem across from van cortlandt park. Family owned and I had the privilege to meet the lovely owner and his wife who make everything from scratch. Delicious baked empanada made to order and try the sangria. You can taste the authentic Peruvian flavors! Go now!

Very tasty food at a charming place in the Bronx. Everything tastes very fresh and the owners pride themselves on sourcing local ingredients and their home-cooking style. We went on Sunday afternoon and the co-owner Rich was happy to tell us more about the food and the history of the restaurant. Would definitely return

I came here for the first time to have lunch with my mother, and I will definitely be coming back! I ordered the chicken combo with fried rice and salchipapas & everything was cooked to perfection. The chicken was so juicy it melted off of the bone and the green sauce that it is paired with is pure bliss!!!! To end our lunch off we shared a flan de Lucuma. The perfect amount of sweetness and texture :) The service was a 10/10.

I’m a student at Manhattan University, and their empanadas changed my life. I’m here at LEAST once a week. Genuinely, I would be here every day if I lived on campus. I would live there if they let me. Never once had a bad experience at Claudy’s; staff is super kind, and the food is the best in the area. If any prospective students are reading this, pick MU for the close proximity to Claudy’s.

Our son brought us here and we could not be more pleased! The food was everything he described. The menu is simple but has all of the staples you would expect. We had chicken soup that is homemade with bone broth. The rotisserie chicken was perfectly cooked and a whole chicken is the perfect amount for 4. The tamales & empanadas were great and I can’t wait to try the homemade flan that we took home. Lastly the service was great! Friendly staff and we were lucky enough to meet the chef! We will definitely be back!!

Que rico!! Such yummy food...I ordered for the first time this past week and tried several empanadas (aji de gallina, chicharron, lomo saltado and the verde), the chaufa and a side order my absolute favorite aji verde. Everything was fresh and delicious and authentic I can't wait to go through the whole menu! Delivery was quick and my food was still hot. I even reheated empanadas and the chaufa the next day and they were just as good. I was so excited when I first saw the Claudy's sign go up...home cooked Peruvian food in my sleepy neighborhood! Then I was worried it wouldn't open at all in the face of COVID-19, so when I read a recent article about Claudy's debut, I was extra happy and hopeful for this local family business to thrive. Buena suerte Berroas y hasta pronto!

As a Peruvian, this felt like home. The food was incredible, the servers incredibly kind, and it's exactly the type of casual spot with great food you expect in the city. Can't go wrong with anything, but definitely get the canary beans, the yucca fries, and a side of huancaina with everything! Chaufa was a huge hit too, and a good portion size.

This restaurant is just DELICIOUS! The food tastes homemade; my taste buds always cause me to overeat every time that I visit. The sangria is also very good! Their service is remarkable; everyone is professional, friendly, honest, and caring. Finding a place to eat with tasty food, great prices, and excellent service is very hard in the area; definitely check them out!

Best empanadas and flan ever. Empanadas are stuffed full, not full of air. Fillings are delicious and include meat and veg options. Staff and service are always so nice.

J

Hands down one of the best Peruvian restaurants around. The lomo saltado and ají de gallina were very good. I’m super picky with these particular dishes as my family is from Peru. The owner was very nice and made sure we enjoyed our meals. To top it off, the alfajores were also very good. Can’t wait to go back to try something else.

Went there with my best friend who lives near the area, coming from Brooklyn!!! Was well worth the trip! Being half Peruvian myself, I'm always on the hunt for that authentic home cooking feel my grandmother used to serve, and Claudy's Kitchen nails it. Split the family meal of Whole Chicken with Chaffa and Zucchini salad, all was freshly made and the flavors were spot on! This the food that had you feeling good throughout, the green sauce just added to the experience, prob some of the best Ive had in the city. Also tasted the empanadas and was curious since I never had Peruvian style empanadas before, was blown away by the explosion of flavors inside the fresh baked crust. My fav was the chicken Aji de Gallina, that Yellow Pepper Cream topped with some Green sauce (cause why not!) was insane. Topped off the meal with the renown Flans, went with a traditional vanilla, and the flavor bomb of these are out of this world, need to try the other flavors! Will be back again to try the tamales and other Peruvian staples! Got to speak with Claudy herself and she was so sweet and loved her story, her husband was there too and love what they're doing with the place, please come to Brooklyn!! Haha

Claudy's Kitchen is a "hidden gem" in Riverdale - Bronx. Very easily located (next to the 242nd station line 1), this place through it's owners - Claudia and Richard - offers us flavourful traditional Peruvian food, homemade delicious chicha morada, and friendly smiles. Last time we went there, my husband and I had shrimp chaufa (fried rice with generous amount of shrimps) and causa rellena (deliciously seasoned mashed potatoes with chicken). As always, I had to close my eyes to enjoy every single bite. As dessert, I had the seasonal pumpkin flan. So creamy, delicate and delicious! I couldn't resist and took home their alfajor (sweetness perfectly balanced) and a coffee flan. My husband and I added a refreshingly cold Peruvian beer for him and an amazing chicha morada (that always transports me immediately to Aguas Calientes next to Machu Picchu). Last and very important, the bathroom is simple but spotless clean. One more time my husband and I left the place all smiles! I can't wait to go back there!

Finally a great traditional Peruvian food joint in this part of the Bronx. We ordered to pick up, the person was friendly and patient. First time ordering so I wanted to know the portion size for the Chaufa. He explained the size and what I could add to it. We chose chicken and steak. We order a Salchipapa as well. (Fried Hotdog with fries). The rice was delicious. The large size feeds 4 people. The salchipapa was good!! I’ll definitely recommend it. The green sauce is delicious but is not complementary. At least two sauces should be part of each order.

A hidden gem amidst the city’s chaotic streets. The waitresses were super friendly. The food was rich in flavors and came to the tables very quickly. Claudia and Richard were both phenomenal and kind. We had a lovely little chat at the end of our visit. Strongly recommend!

Today, I randomly stopped at this place. Nearby there are a lot options to dine in, but this is most healthy one. I do novice level bodybuilding so I need to watch what I eat. My first impression about the place were amazing. Employees and Owner of the place are super friendly. Food was delicious. I have ordered chicken and beef empanadas. Chicken tasted appropriately, as ones you eat in hight quality restaurant. It was not dried or undercooked, you could tell that it was cooked properly and maintained cooking temperature 165 f , during preparation. Daw was crispy and grease free. Which is very rare with empanadas. Both chicken and beefed tasted fresh, almost felt like I was eating organic meat. Thanks for this great experience.

My second time eating there and the food has been very good. Last time, I had the soup, the chicken, and a flan (I didn't like the vanilla one so much, but that's just me) but the passionfruit one was delicious 😋 The food overall is always good and the service is great

4.4 doesn’t do Claudy’s justice, this place is amazing. Some of the best roast chicken one can find in the city. I’ve seen some reviews suggesting otherwise, that’s unfortunate. My experience was tremendous. Went early and got one fresh out of the oven, it was fire 🤷🏾‍♂️ Incredibly kind and welcoming staff, helpful and friendly. Can’t wait to return, and I live in central Brooklyn (farrrrr)!

Ricky (I hope I caught the name right) was amazing. He explained every dish and walked us through how to eat it. Below is me and my mom’s rating on each dish Lomo Saltado (stif fry beef)- 10/10. The meat was very tender and flavorful. The savoriness of the dish matches well with the rice. The fries add an extra layer of texture. While the stirfry sauce coats your mouth with flavor Aji de Gallina (creamy chicken)- 10/10. The chicken was sweet and peppery. The creaminess combined with the rice paired very well. I had it with a bit of green sauce (might be chimichurry sauce) which combined well with the creaminess. Ceviche de pescado- 100/10. Reminded us of the Philippines. The fish was “cooked” perfectly by the acidity of the sauce. The dish had sweet potatoes, yuca, large corn kernels, and fried cord kernels. All of these together, created a mixture of texture from smooth to crisy. It also created a battle between sour and sweet. Flan (Chocolate & Coffee)- Perfection/10. Ricky was right, its like the Philippines’ leche flan BUT BETTER. The different variations of the flan made the common vanilla flavor shrink in its plainness. This was the perfect end to our hearty meal. What we would call “pampawala ng umay” (removed the satiation of one strong flavor).

I rarely leave reviews, but this place left me feeling inspired. My fiancée and I ordered the ceviche, lomo saltado, and empanadas. You could literally taste the heart and soul of the chefs cooking with each bite. As I told my fiancée, my only regret was not having a larger stomach to keep on eating.

Just left this restaurant, rushed traffic to get here before closing. Owner allowed us to dine in, we are repeating customer to this restaurant. Service is phenomenal, very family oriented, always warm and friendly greeting. The food is 100 of 10, would recommend everyone to try it out. Will be back with the family! Blessings

Dropped in on for a quick lunch based on a Tik Tok video I saw and let’s just say Claudy’s did not disappoint. From the minute I walked in the owner Richard was welcoming, warm and personable. I consider myself a Roast Chicken connoisseur and the minute I took my first bite it was heaven! The skin was super crispy, the meat was tender, seasoned well and juicy. Paired with the fried/light Yuca fries and that infamous Peruvian green sauce - Flavor Bomb! I’ll be a regular for sure and the price was very reasonable. Claudy’s for the W!

The lomo saltado ( beef tenderloin , with white rice and French fries in steak sauce ) was absolutely delicious and perfect for an afternoon lunch on a cold day . I appreciate how tender the steak was, the staff was friendly and attentive . I do like the open kitchen concept , you can sit and see how your food is prepared , with love ! Thank you we will be back ! Oh don’t forget the flan

The food here is incredible. I’ve picked up take out a few time this was my first time dining in. Everyone was so lovely and made our group feel welcome. The food is delicious, and everything very fresh. We ordered chaufa (of course) and a few of the specials of the day. Everything was perfect. The fish soup ordered on a whim was a huge portion, so warm and filling. I felt like the person who made that soup loves me. Give it a try!

I ordered from Claudy's Kitchen for an event at Fordham University a month ago. Everything from placing the order to the delivery to the actual eating-the-food part was incredible!! The communication between myself and the manager was clear and timely. The manager himself delivered the food and helped us get the food into our event hall. We ordered the chicken empanadas, ground beef empanadas, empanadas verdes, papa a la huancaina, aji de gallina, causa rellena, and yucca fries. We ran out of this food very quick, so I can promise you that our attendees loved the food. It was my first time trying peruvian food, and I have to say that the aji de gallina was my absolute favorite. We're looking forward to ordering from Claudy's Kitchen again in the future!

Everything was so good. We ordered a variety - including their chicken, jalea (think fried seafood mix DONE RIGHT), empanadas, chaufa, and flan. I'm not a flan person, but this was THE BEST FLAN I've ever had. The empanadas are baked, perfectly seasoned, and feel homemade with love. The owners were so attentive and thoughtful, giving us great recommendations. I would 100% be back.

I’m a big foody and love contributing to local family businesses that actually put love in their food. Being so close to home this place was an absolute treat. Their food here is simply for better words delicious. The Pescado Cevichi is to die for even the juice from it is so tasty very authentic. The Chupe de Pescado with Camerones was so flavorful I was just missing an avocado to add to my bowl. Only suggestion is can you please place the Cevichi on the Uber eats menu so unfair it’s not lol. Ambiance can be busy at times so if you’re picking up order before hand.

It’s a true blessing to have this Michelin star authentic Peruvian restaurant in the Northwest Bronx right on Broadway by VCP. I’m not Peruvian, but my partner is, so she knows good ceviche, ají de gallina, chicha morada, lomo saltado, etc when she sees it. I’ve even brought their famous lucuma flan 🍮 to a Peruvian family party, and all her tias loved it! We love going to this place, and hope to for many years to come. Viva Peru and Claudy’s 🇵🇪🤍🔝🔥

I’ve been looking to broaden my knowledge of Peruvian cuisine and this place was perfect. Far from the more upscale Peruvian spots you find in Manhattan, Claudy’s Kitchen seems to focus more on homestyle dishes. Wanting to try something new, I ordered the aji de gallina and it was wonderful - tender chicken served in a flavorful creamy sauce with rice. An empanada I ordered on the side was also very good as was a coffee flan I got for dessert. I’ll be back!

Outstanding food…. the Ceviche was delicious and fresh. The Jalea was lightly battered and season just right. The yuca fries were great. The Aji empanada was superb. I wasn’t a Peruvian food fan but I am now! Excellent!!

We embarked upon a quest to find exceptional ceviche and we found a wonderful place to eat. We were very impressed with every dish at Claudy's Kitchen. We started out by ordering the ceviche de pescado and veggie saltado. Ceviche is a vibrant dish of fish marinated in a citric sauce called "leche de tigre". It contains fish, onion, sweet potato, toasted corn, and fresh corn kernels. The restaurants expert preparation of the ceviche made this one of the best dishes I have had in a long time. Try to get a piece of corn, fish, and onion on each forkfull. The veggie saltado is rice, yuca, and vegetables. A great option for the vegetarian crowd. The vegetable were fresh and cooked to perfection. The removal of the seeds from the tomatoes added a nice touch to the dish. We also ordered ground beef empanadas and veggie empanadas. I enjoyed the fact that they were baked and not fried so they are not greasy at all. The taste of both empanadas was exquisite. We enjoyed them so much we ordered four more empanadas to take home. For desert, we had a heart-shaped alfajore and the passion fruit flan. The flan comes in a variety of flavors, such as, coconut, chocolate, coffee, vanilla. The tropical flavor was delightful and had a very pleasing texture I have not had in other flan I have tried. For takeout, we ordered chaufa, a tamale, a whole chicken, and yucca fries. Everything was expertly seasoned and prepared, the portions were the perfect size, I could not find anything that I disliked about the food. In conclusion, Claudy’s Kitchen is a must visit restaurant. I am sure it will be one of your favorites. I cannot wait to return.

Ive been on a journey to dine in family owned restaurants and avoid big chains. I’m so glad we found this spot today! Its homey and cozy - service is great and the food was delicious! We ordered: Lomo, chicken, chaufa, ceviche and flan. Prices were fair and I can’t wait to come back here. I hope this neighborhood appreciates the flavors because I don’t have this near my apartment.

A beautiful family restaurant, rich and his wife Claudy were super friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious fresh and authentic. Definitely a place I will bring people to impress. The fettuccine a la huancaina con lomo saltado was so special. The chicken was juicy and full of flavor, if you’re into something exotic I recommend the ceviche and passion fruit flan.

Had lunch here with my girlfriend, and we both really enjoyed it. Probably the best Peruvian i've had in the BX. We shared a half chicken, a shrimp chaufa and empandas. The chicken was really flavorful and juicy. It came with the classic green sauce that my gf really loved, but I also got a side of rocoto sauce since i like some spice! The shrimp chaufa was really tasty too, and even the small order was a nice sized portion. The empanadas were also awesome, and there's a handful of different types to choose from. They even have a special deal with 2 empanadas + 1 beer! We tried the chicken, and lomo saltado. Both of them were excellent. Definitely would like to try some more items on the menu, but that was all we could eat for this visit. We'll be back!

On a spur of the moment, mom and I ended up at this gem. Claudy's Kitchen in the Bronx, off of the 242nd Street 1 line train station. It's a Peruvian restaurant I came upon on ig... so we tried it. Whoa! The food was so yummy. The shrimp chaufa was excellent. Good amount of shrimp to go with the fried rice. Their 1/4 pc chicken was seasoned deliciously enough. And prices were excellent. Can't beat that. They have other delicious food but this is what we had. I'm going back

Excellent Peruvian food (though it was my first time trying the authentic thing). The food was incredible - we had the lomo saltado, ceviche pescado and veggie empanadas. The lomo saltado was perfectly seasoned, the ceviche was delightful and refreshing, and the empanadas showed incredible care and flaky pastry. Last but not least, the alfajores - this was my first time to try this delicious Peruvian dessert and I was absolutely blown away. The buttery biscuit and the caramel-like filling were perfect. And alongside the food we also had the great experience to enjoy our lunch in the restaurant and speak with Rich. Thank you, Rich and Claudy for the awesome food! We would definitely recommend it to anyone!

(Baked not fried) Empanadas are delicious, well seasoned, no oily residues at all.

Pretty good empanadas, but could use a bit more spice. I really don't think restaurants need to tone down various ethnic foods, but they do.

Ordered from here to pick up for the first time after seeing someone on IG post about it. Not disappointed with the food. Chicken soup was awesome according to my husband. The shrimp chaufa and empanada was delicious.

Ordered takeout, which is why I did not rate the service and atmosphere. Tried a bit of some of what seemed like the more popular dishes - a few empanadas (cause I love empanadas... give me all the empanadas), fried rice with steak, the chicken, yucca fries and the flan. Everything was very good. The chicken was tender and delicious. The flan was outstanding (the portion looked small but it was filling!). Everything tasted homemade, which I liked.

The Lomo Saltado is a must! Flavorful, tender, and delicious. The wait time during lunch was a bit long, but worth it.

Dine in - my bf wanted to go to this restaurant so bad and he was not disappointed. The overall food taste was good. We tried the Shrimp Chaufa and lemonades. The place was clean and the staff was nice.

Seeing as I came to Claudy's Kitchen for a quick bite, I'll keep this review short, sweet, and to the point. I had ordered 3 empanadas: the Aji, Lomo Saltado, and Chicharron. I also got a chicha morada (purple corn) drink. My colleague had ordered the Rotisserie chicken and the fried rice. The empanadas were fried perfectly, but I thought that the taste was just okay. Nothing spectacular but not bad at all. My colleague shared her fried rice and chicken with me, which was absolutely AMAZING! The chicken was super moist and had so much flavor, and the rice was flavorful as well. The green sauce they gave us on the side was delicious and only elevated all the food items. The chicha morada was delicious and refreshing. It reminded me of Jamaica but not as sweet. It paired perfectly with the food. Customer service was excellent. The staff behind the counter was very friendly and helped us to choose what items to order. Preparation of the food was pretty quick too, especially considering that everything is made to order. The interior of the restaurant was also very clean and well kept, and the menu was easy enough to read Overall, I think this place is a great spot for a quick bite. I didn't give it 5 stars because I was a little underwhelmed with the empanadas, but everything else was wonderful. I'm definitely going to return to try their other offerings

Extremely expensive. To this date June/2025 I don't justify paying $70 for lunch, including an unrequested 18% tip surcharge included. For that money I could have gotten lunch at a fancier place. Food was good, although the servings were on the small size. They didn't even add a bigger serving to attract people. I can see many people not coming back just because of the cost. UPDATED 6/23/2025: Looking at my bank statement, total charge actually ended up being almost $80. ($76.13) I also must add that the owner's reply says my consumption included beverages and appetizers. Said beverages were 2 cans of soda, and the appetizers were two empanadas. My daughter is on Wegovy, that's why she only eats half her plate and took home the other half, not because it was a plentiful plate, lol. I would say $38 per person would be "deal" for steak if the "steak" wasn't literally 4 small bite size chunks of sirloin and the rest onions and french fries. I am absolutely okay with paying $38 for meat but not okay with the skimpiness. In reality the one thing that really brought up my protest was the arbitrary choice of 18% for gratuity and not just the standard 15%.... I don't understand what possibly makes a merchant determine the percentage of gratuity above the standard rate. I always tip 20%, but always and as long as it is my choice.

EAT AT YOUR OWN RISK. Straight to the point. I give this place 3 stars because I spit out a rubber band from my mouth as I was chewing my food. Here’s the story. I Was walking by looking for a liquor store and stumbled upon this Peruvian restaurant and saw a picture of Lomo saltado which is my favorite dish and since I haven’t had it in a long time and I was starving because I just finished a 46 hour fast I decided to give this place a chance. I get in, I order my food. It was hot, was a good portion, it was really tasty and delicious. As I’m eating my food I noticed something chewy in my mouth, I thought it was a tendon from the beef, but I spit it out and saw that it was a small yellow rubber band that i was chewing on trying to break down. I had the waiter next to me since he was at the soda fridge and I showed it to him, but since there were people next to me and the place was crowded I didn’t want to make a scene, also i was on my video call, so I motioned with my hands that it was in my food. He walked away with it and came back asking if I wanted the dish to be remade. I was starving. The food was actually really good, I told him no thanks as I continued to eat the food and just told him to tell the cooks to be more careful. I was disgusted. But I was starved & already eating the food, and I don’t like seeing food go to waste. So I tried my hardest to forget about it, but as a first time customer with hopeful expectations this encounter disappointed me. It was not a good first impression, the staff and the food were great but the rubber band was a downer. I could have swallowed it thinking it was a chewy piece of fat or a tendon. Thankfully I checked. I’ll give this place a second chance, I’m forgiving, but ppl should know that this happened. I even ordered more food and got the rice with pork in it and found a piece of egg shell in the rice, it wasn’t a big deal to me, but to others it might be. I should have taken a picture but I had the waiter next to me and was able to show it to him right away.

I was looking forward to trying this restaurant! Cause of 2 Michelin start! However I was not impressed! The menu is small is fine! But not all items were available! I expect better service which it was not ! I don’t know how they got it! The bathroom it was out of service! Perfection is hard to accomplish! However they’re details that are not too hard to get together! The food didn’t meet the expectations! Not worth it!

I’d been wanting to try this Michelin-starred Peruvian spot for a while and finally got the chance after a couple of failed attempts due to their hours. I went in with very high expectations. The location and lack of luxury didn’t matter to me at all—I was there purely for the flavors. The arroz chaufa was delicious and the highlight of the meal. Unfortunately, the chicken was dry and the lomo saltado was just decent, nothing memorable. Maybe my expectations were set too high because of the Michelin star, but I was hoping for a more impressive experience across the board. It was worth trying once, though. Parking is not easy.

My review is based on take out - the food had decent flavor but at the same time it was very dry. I ordered the lomo salteado and it had no onions and had it was just a few dry pieces of steak. The green sauce was amazing but even the whole chicken was dry. I spent 100 dollars on a few items and in my opinion even though the food was good it was not worth 100 bucks. I have had Peruvian food many times and never had the lomo salteado that dry. I also ordered the fried rice with chicken and shrimp and the chicken was under cooked and some pieces were actually grey in color

May i start off by saying this restaurant is only a few blocks from me and my wife and i have been to dine here about 3 times. Each time i get something different off the menu and each time im disappointed and each time I went i waited longer and longer to get my order taken and to get my food. Im the type of person that likes to give a restaurant a few chances before i put it on my “do not eat here” list. The food for being a Latin restaurant has absolutely no flavor. The chicken especially (which was cold and dry 2/3 times), which is strange because apparently thats what they’re known for. The empanadas are pretty bland (not horrible) but certainly not something worth purchasing again. The restaurant itself is alright nothing too crazy. Its a typical diner style restaurant. I made sure to read all the reviews before i went and tried it again. A lot of mixed reviews, but trust me folks… go try it for yourself and know im not lying. It saddens me to say that Claudy’s Kitchen is on my “Do not eat here” list.

Food was ok, but they charge for everything. We asked for hot sauce and we got a little thing of rocoto and it was $1.50 extra, and that rocoto was water down. the chicken was dry with no flavor and the chaufa rice was less than average. maybe that is why they don't have the michelin star since 2022. just saying.

The pricing was crazy for the amount of food served the cashier was rude and did not show any interest whatsoever in our complaint. They charge a tip in the price supposedly automatically the prices that were on the menu were different from the restaurant menu. Cashier said of that’s on us , she said different things for different people . Basically shoved us off and still took our money. Food was not good , rice was burnt and it was like a spoon full on the plate we ordered some papa a la huancaina and two small slices of potatoes are they kidding me . The jalea came with like a hand ful of seafood the octopus was so small you need a microscope to see it .

We chose this place based on the number of reviews and was shocked. The Lomo Saltado was nasty and though the meat was fully cooked it had an unseasoned uncooked flavor. My friend is Peruvian and was embarrassed for bringing me to this place. Not worth the $$$. My advice is to go elsewhere and try, seriously.

Came in here & they did not greet me at all. The lady in the front had an attitude. Idk if it was because I’m black & had on a hijab. But she was very rude & guy in the front as well. And right after i ordered & sat down a Spanish guy walked in and she & the Mexican guy working in the front they greeted him right away gave him a menu & sat him down . Also the empanadas were burnt.

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE I really had high hopes of this restaurant by word of mouth however I truly believe the owner needs revisit her customer service skills. She argued about an outside drink which was $2 when our bill is over $60, when she doesn’t even offer a variety of drinks. If you want us to consume your drinks offer a variety of drinks ! IF YOU WANT CUSTOMERS LEARN CUSTOMER SKILLS Ps. We did not finish our food and instead took it to go. As I asked Ricky for a to go box. Its not a sense of entitlement it’s simply taking your business elsewhere. Working and being in the food service industry for over 6 years, you pick and choose your battles. As I mentioned it was a $60+ bill and you were complaining over a $2 drink. The institution you mention has no regards. Learn business etiquette ! And yes the people can decide where to take their business.

I hate giving bad reviews but unfortunately I cannot give it a good one. The food was not what I expected from a real Peruvian cooking it. Maybe that day it was someone else because I did see her but she was not in the kitchen (much) but not even the empanadas were tasty. They felt as if they had been reheated. My husband ordered the chicken( he loves his pollo a la brasa) lacking taste, quality and quantity!! My plate was fettuccine ala huancaina and the same issues. The atmosphere was dead that day but the waiter was very nice! I expected way more variety as well but they only have a few dishes therefore it should had been better (so I think, but that’s just me) I will be willing to go back in the summer to see if it has improved! Pricing was not up to par with the quality and quantity!!!

The chicken was not that good and tasted a bit off. The owner was not friendly at all. She didn’t greet customers and always had an unfriendly expression, which made the experience unpleasant.

I’m happy that you respond so fast but my complain is about the FOOD DON’T put food in the menu that you’re not going to be able to do at that time, or you could advise the customer that’s going to sit there’s a lot of things that are in the menu and that you won’t be able to have. And if you were there you know that the drinks you also couldn’t deliver. I heard so much about this place so I decided to go today November 18, 2022 , take my children and my family that came from Peru, 🙁 big mistake call before you go make sure they’re gonna have what you want . The chicken 🍗 looks like they refried it instead of being Pollo Alaba nothing like what it shows on Facebook or on the other advertisements. My children’s were very unhappy , they thought it was going to be good Peruvian food but instead they said the only thing that was good about it was the french fries that it was fresh. I should have taken my trip to go to Queens to Jackson Heights and eat REAL Peruvian food or maybe it was not The restaurants day to be open. I did see a lot of people going in and getting some empanadas so instead of Peruvian food maybe they should be call The Empanadas place and then you know where you’re going to eat. Specially if the lady Claudia was not or was there she should really be careful who is managing her front or front or maybe she just ignores that . Sorry I wouldn’t go there again sorry about that especially for my mother she was unhappy she said wow this is what they’re calling Peruvian Food in the Bronx specially coming from Peru herself. That was my experience in November 2022 at 4 PM I think it was on a Friday.
