Excellent service. Hibachi grill provided a very good presentation. Was excellent during covid and have eaten there recently. They have increased their ratings in all categories and the food and pricing remains at par excellence. They also keep the place very clean.
I love a good Hibachi location. It's not just the food but the decorum involved. This location is clean and so very well decorated. From the second you walk in you are warmly greeted and attended to. You're not waiting in a long line even when it's busy. The seating is very comfy whether you're at Grill-side or at a table/booth. The service is impeccable. The food menu is plentiful and done wonderfully. The sushi is done masterfully and everything is fresh and authentic. The chefs that perform and cook at Grill-side are true artisans of their craft. They know how to bring their surrounding table of strangers together through funny jokes and great food. Everything at Grill-side is made as you ask for it. Bar none, this is my go to for a little family adventure night. Love this place and you will too.
My husband took me here for my birthday. The food was excellent and, for what we purchased, our bill was very reasonable. The rainbow roll was great and the tuna was delicious. The tempura cheesecake was so sinfully good. Our waiter, Garrett, was awesome! We will definitely go back again.
We had a reservation at 8 with a group of 7 or 8. We showed up and were seated quickly. There were some mild hiccups on drinks and then it all came together. Our server, for the life of me I cannot remember his name, was quick and attentive. We got our orders in and the chef came and entertained is as he cooked! Split checks went smooth and the food was amazing. Definitely recommend to anyone wanting some entertaining and delicious food, with good service.
So much fun and a lot of food. I had chicken and shrimp Hibachi with fried rice. The tempura veggies and shrimp were wonderful. My husband loved his teriyaki salmon Hibachi.
I have been traveling for work and have stopped in here several times. The customer service is amazing and the food is always great. Great for family events and business dinners. I will certainly continue to support this restaurant when I am in town!
Went on a Saturday night with my husband and 1 year old. We ordered a popular sushi roll and the teriyaki NY Strip steak. The roll was good. I love sushi but the steak was definitely our favorite. We will definitely be returning. We've loved Ohana as well so now we'll have to take turns between the two.
We had a great time celebrating my son's birthday at the hibachi grill, everyone was so fun and nice. The food was good too. Lots of fun, we'll be back!
Head a fabulous time. The service was fantastic! The chef was entertaining and worked really well with our group! The food was really good, the value was great (we took home extra), and we will definitely be going, again.
Great place to go and eat. Kid friendly. The chef was very amazing he put on quite a show. The food was delicious. I have a food allergy when I told the waitress she made sure that the chef knew. The chef was very careful. The only thing I would say is not that great is the bathroom. It's very nice and clean however it was always occupied. They need more stalls in the bathroom in the women's restroom as well as the men's.
Food was so good! Service was awesome too. Our server was Joshua and he was always making sure our drink was refilled. We’ll definitely be coming back again
I had the garlic spicy edamsme and it was so good!!! Our waiter Jimmy was fantastic. He even took the time to shake our hands Hes a keeper Marilyn
Really excellent sushi. The salmon skin hand roll was best I've ever had. And the sunomono salad (shrimp and cucumber) was both beautiful and delicious. Prompt and courteous service and nice facility made this a place to return to.
...in the beginning, a fog graced the fields on either side of the Buffalo Creek... these Blessed fields would some day be named Waxahachie... as time passed, the Buffalo were Slaughtered, and the Crosses were Raised... but even in these dark times, one bastion of love and prosperity continued on, a beacon of hope for those seeking comfort and peace... a place of family and friendship, where flavors blossomed and aromas graced the senses... this legendary place would be regarded my some as Utopia, and by most, Paradise... last night beneath the stars, the ancestors of this land rode the cool breeze of Waxahachie...and whispered the name of Sanctuary... ...Osuba...
An excellent place to go out and try! Great food with good prices. The waiter was very attentive and we will definitely be returning. Steamed or fried dumplings are phenomenal. Everything we had in the group was good...the curry soup was absolutely delicious. Sushi was all very fresh and excellent in quality.
Very good sushi. The hibachi was good. The long island ice tea was terrible. The bartender needs some adjustments. Over all good not excellent.
The food has never disappointed, sushi and hibachi are great! Prices are pretty good compared to other similar restaurants. Servers have always been friendly and helpful. I would take friends and family here
Service always great ! Food was good, not as seasoned as usual ; still good. Always clean and fresh!
Always exceptional. Everything is delicious. Loved it at first bite.
Been here twice with wife & daughter. They enjoy sushi & I'm indifferent. I like the place because they explain what's in the sushi if you want sushi & they also have good fried rice. Haven't done the hibachi, but willing to try.
First time here, invited to join my son and his family. It was an experience and something different. We enjoyed the talent display of the chef. Highly recommend
I got fried rice instead of my usual steam rice by the kitchen on accident, but food was still good. Can't complain.
Amazing! Had a party of 20 for a Birthday and the food was great, and Dillon our Server is the best we have ever had. He stayed on top of it. Thank you Dillon for your great service.
We’ve eaten here twice, the second time being on Valentine’s Day, note the photo of the heart shaped fried rice ♥️. Both times were good. The portions are Texas sized and the servers were friendly. Our hibachi chef on Valentine’s Day was Scott. He was fun! He sang, had an endless supply of dad jokes and his food was tasty. (Apparently he uses his own spice mix, and it really did make a difference.)
We came here for my son’s 13th birthday today, and all I can say is— service was amazing! Scott was our chef, and he was phenomenal. He’s friendly, extremely kind, and made the whole family laugh with his dad jokes. Because of him, we will definitely be back! This place exceeded our expectations. Thanks again for making this a memory my son will never forget. -The Roberts Family.
Nice place to eat...food was great and fresh... awesome selection of food and the staff was very attentive... recommend it to anyone looking for a great place for hibachi and sushi.
Wow! as always the Jalapino poppers are out of this world. The Cowboy roll is surf and turf perfection wrapped in rice. The Dinomite roll was JJ Walker DINOMITE! The crunchy spicy Tuna was pretty darn good. The people are helpful and endearing. Come by and enjoy a wonderful night out and enjoy. Thanks for the great meal. The Diablo Roll blew my mind. The peppered tuna was fantastic.
We've been three times for hibachi. Dinner and a show is always awesome. The food is always delicious.
I've been to alot of authentic hibachi places. Being from new york wasn't the best ive had but definitely was in the top 5... Chef was pretty funny as they usually are and put up a good performance as to be expected. Also had the sushi was very clean and tasty recommend the shaggy dog for now but I'll definitely be trying out more soon. Only recommendations to this place is changing there yummy yummy recipe could have a bit more flavor all in all very much enjoyed it
Jimmy was out server and may I say, he has a great personality when it comes to customer service. This is the 1st time to try Osuba, it was the Google reviews that brought us in. We had one of their House Special Roll "Alex Special Roll" and they were very agreeable to me ordering an off the menu roll I like. The restaurant was clean and the food was good. If I have one negative, it's the big potholes coming into the parking lot from the main road. If you're driving a nice low profile car, they may be a problem.
Took my daughter here for her birthday. We just loved it great sushi. Try the jalapeno appetizers. Great drinks. Great performance by the hibachi chef....
Went there with some Church friends. We did the hibachi. All and all had a great time. The chef was not the star of the show though. The Host, Caden was excellent. Personable, service oriented, and made the entire group feel like we were eating at his house. Honestly the best service I've ever had anywhere. I will be coming back soon and requesting his area. Yall need to give him a raise!!!
Came here on a Monday afternoon to do hibachi lunch. We ordered shrimp tempura, spicy edamame, and ahi tower for appetizers and then did the hibachi lunch after. The food is delicious and very affordable! The portions are big and we left full and satisfied. The service is great also, would love to give a shoutout to Selena, Jay, and Jin. Thank you for your above and beyond excellent service. I will definitely make the drive from Dallas to come back and eat here again.
The hibachi food was absolutely delicious – fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly right in front of us. The experience was fun and enjoyable from start to finish. Our server, Stephen, went above and beyond with his excellent service. He was attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was perfect throughout the meal. Highly recommend! Thank you all for helping us celebrate our Dad's birthday. 🎂 💕🦋
Osuba is a fantastic hibachi restaurant with delicious food, excellent service, and reasonable prices. I had the New York steak hibachi, cooked perfectly to a medium-rare, and everything was flavorful and well-prepared. The sushi was fresh and well-made, making for a great addition to the meal. I also really appreciate that they offer gluten-free options, which made it easy to accommodate my wife’s dietary needs. The staff was knowledgeable and attentive, ensuring a great dining experience. A special shoutout to our chef, Josh, who was incredibly kid-friendly and made the experience even better. He took the time to engage with our youngest and kindly gave a heads-up before the fire tricks, making sure everyone felt comfortable. Highly recommend Osuba for a fun and delicious hibachi meal!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Osuba in Waxahachie is truly a hidden gem in the culinary scene! From the moment I entered, I was welcomed with warmth and hospitality. The host was exceptional, always ensuring our drinks were full, which made for a delightful start to the evening. The highlight of our dining experience was undoubtedly the hibachi chef. His talent and flair were on full display as he cooked right in front of us, creating a show that was as entertaining as it was delicious. Each dish was expertly prepared, bursting with flavor and freshness. It was evident that the chef takes pride in his craft, and it certainly paid off! The service throughout the night was amazing—top-notch A+! The staff was attentive without being overbearing, making sure we had everything we needed for a perfect meal. As for the atmosphere, it was both comforting and fun, making it an ideal setting for a night out with friends or family. The lively energy combined with the sizzling sounds of the grill created an inviting ambiance that we thoroughly enjoyed. Overall, Osuba exceeded my expectations in every way. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience filled with great food, exceptional service, and an unforgettable atmosphere! Phenomenal! The food was beyond amazing, atmosphere rocks, and they were so nice. We had no idea they closed from 3p to 5p before dinner rush. We noticed it had gotten quiet, and no one was around. Getting up to leave, we apologized to the 1 employee we found, and they told us it was 100% ok to stay for however long we liked. I can also say one of my fave menus! They CLEARLY marked if has raw meat or not in all the rolls, which is one of the few sushi places I've tried. 🖤🖤
It was my first trip there. Had a good time, the staff was very friendly and service was quick. I am not experienced in the sushi world, I only stuck with the teriyaki chicken and steamed rice dish. The rest of our party went with all the house traditional dishes and they all seemed extremely pleased with the food. We sat on the side of the restaurant that you ordered off menus. Other side is where the master chefs cooked around your table and put on a show. It was a very good experience.
I make trips from Dallas to Waxahachie maybe once a month and I try and eat at different places every time I visit. This Sunday I tried this place out and it was good! The host was fast and the waiter was kind and honestly attentive plus the Hibachi chef was incredibly talented! The food was very fresh and they squeeze the sauces out for you and present them to you. It’s a little pricey but if you are in the mood for Hibachi or just want to have a really unique and fun eating experience, you should definitely try this restaurant!
Food was great, Service was good. Overall, the restaurant was a little dirty, food was on the floor, and the cook had to clean the table and grill both before he started cooking.
All of the meal was great except for the fried rice. The fried rice had no carrots or peas in it like most and there was no flavor to it.
We enjoyed our food but not sure if our waitress was new or not. She seemed unsure about her job. Won't throw her under the bus though. We all go through a learning curve. All and all the food was great as usual. I think we over ordered. I just wished eating out was over priced! Alot of restaurants are now charging some serious prices for their services just to dineout to pay their staff. Thanks Mr Biden!!!
Went here to celebrate my nephew's birthday with the family. We were seated promptly and received drink orders. The food was pretty average for a hibachi, everything was tasty. Only problem was with food coming out at random. Some of the sushi rolls didn't come out until we were almost done eating and one person's entree came out before any appetizers were served. Overall was a good experience and we will definitely go back.
Wish they had half star would have given an extra half. Nice layout. They seem to be renovating. Protein was slightly small portioned but the price made up for it. Very reasonable. Sushi rolls were nice and clean. We had 4 different kinds and each was made correctly and rolled well. Nice to look at. Not quite the best hibachi bar, although with everything it comes with, maybe the best deal in hibachi around. You can go pay 2 or 3 times more somewhere else, you won't get twice the experience over there. Edit. The last two times I have been shorted in my vegetables and shrimp. Once my wife and I even ordered the same thing. She got several more shrimp. Another person got shrimp when they didn't order and a mound of vegetables. I heard the order. They didn't order extra. It could be because of the side I was on relative to the chef. It was a noticeable difference. When you're paying $50 a person, i dont care about the more, no one should get less. Edit 2: the last couple times we've had Marko as a waiter and he is wonderful. So good he might get me to redo my entire review. Whatever hes got, make sure it spreads. Very attentive and pleasant.
Food was good. Our server was not that knowledgeable about our food it was our first time and he couldn’t answer a question about the egg rolls. I suggested him to ask the kitchen and took almost 20 mins to get an answer.
Great experience. The fire show was very well done. The veggies, rice and chicken were delicious. The staff was very attentive and nice. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because the steak is cubed which makes it a little chewy. And, shrimp, I didn't order was tossed on my plate without me being asked. Other than that great experience. Please make sure to have the unfiltered sake next time as was out.
We had sushi, takoyomi, and cheesecake. Sushi was in the top 3 best sushi I've ever eaten. We are visiting from Houston when hurricane beryl knocked out power. Decided to eat here after the long drive and it was fantastic a must eat if your in the area and from 5-7 the sushi is happy hour so you get more for your buck without trading off food quality. MUST TRY
Had sushi and my wife had a shrimp dish. We both enjoyed our food. Service was good but the waiter could of been a little more attentive. Not bad service just average. Nice atmosphere
Flipping shrimp into your mouth is always a good time. The onion volcano is a classic, never gets old. That sizzled garlic butter scent just sticks with you all day. It's a fun place to celebrate a birthday or just catch up with friends. Sometimes the best food experiences are the familiar ones.
Good Hibachi, good service, and solid price during lunch hour. I was very satisfied with the service I received during my visit. The server was attentive to our needs and was quick. The reason for 4 stars and not 5 is due to the temperature of the food! The flavor and amount I was given was great but the food was more on the warm side even though my order came out quickly. Overall I am pleased and would return to get my fried rice with filet mignon!
This is by far our favorite sushi spot. We have been to sushi restaurants all over the DFW area and always end up here not pleased with the sushi taste or service at the other locations. The staff here is very friendly and welcoming. Usually very busy on Friday nights and weekends which is understandable particularly in Waxahachie which has limited dining options. I always order the delicious monster roll. My husband likes the vegetable dinner with the Philadelphia roll. It has become our favorite meal here. Our waiter is usually Lucas and he is extremely attentive. Great service by him all around!⭐️⭐️⭐️ Our only feedback is with the hours of operation as they open at 5:00 p.m. on weekdays and for some of us an earlier time might work better. But the food is why we keep coming back!
I enjoyed my meal here on a Sunday afternoon. We sat on the sushi side of the house, but also ordered from the hibachi menu. I highly recommend the Big Easy roll as it was very tasty. The hibachi steak was also delicious; however, I didn’t like that we paid the same price as those dining in on the hibachi side of the house receiving the chef experience. Also, the hibachi lunch price does not apply on weekends so I’d recommend going during the week if you’re wanting a quick hibachi meal without the added expense.
Went there for a birthday dinner. The majority of our party had arrived a few minutes before us. When we arrived they acted as if it was a problem to seat us with our party. We even said if we had to be seated at a separate table from them it would be ok but we still had to wait. After serveral minutes of them trying to decide what to do we were taken to our table only to discover that half the seats were still empty anyway! I believe our server was trying her best but she seemed overwhelmed. Got my order wrong twice, so I finally decided to just eat what I had. It may have just been an off day for them.... it happens. Overall I'd say my experience was mediocre compared to other Hibachi restaurants I've been to.
All the food was good for my party of 13 no complaints on that, although we did have a server who cared less if we ran out of water, coke etc. Never came by to give a refill until after about 35min I got up to look for him " Michael ". Didn't have silverware, chopsticks and soy sauce to go with my sushi. So we made the effort to eat our sushi with our hands .. anyhow the hibachi chef was nice, he made us laugh. He did have an acccident with one of his tricks and food fell on someone but he apologized. Well wish service was better and gratuity was given to worst service.
The service and dinner was great, however, not sure if it's under construction or they had an AC issue, they had fan set up for cooling. I felt the fan cords created safety hazards for staff and customers. It was very hot being close to the grill and the only cooling was from the fans set up around the restaurant.
Food was decent in quality. Good comparison to other well known hibachi places. Service was timely and our server was wonderful. Would have given another Star, however, it was so hot from the time we walked in until the time we left. Literally all of our party had wet clothes from sweating so much. Definitely needs to have the AC fixed ASAP! Such an uncomfortable ambience. For as much as we paid, I would have expected to have more of a comfortable dining experience.
I came at a good time. Barely anybody but the other people who were there got to sit behind me and we soo loud. Glad I had my headphones. I didn't care about their girl talk. I wish they could space us out a bit. Food was great so was waiter just the BS girl talk I had to endure.
Not terrible, not great. Food was ok. Had steak and fried rice. Rice was not fried long enough and only had egg in it. Steak was good. Hibachi chef was pretty good. Entertaining. Building is old.
Arrived 40 minutes before closing, many tables still inside eating. We were told by the host that they closed early today. We drove 45 minutes just to eat here and hired a babysitter. Very unprofessional to not have any updates regarding hours if that is indeed true. We took pictures of all of the many signs taped to the door and none of them said anything about early closing hours. Very disappointing.
The food was blah, and the service was not much better. Ordered several different items, and none were very good, and I'm not a picky eater. The waitress was rather rude and inattentive. There are too many food options in the area, and I will not be choosing Osuba again. For the price, go somewhere else and have a better experience. I really feel like the people that are saying this is good sushi, have never in fact, had good sushi..
My take out order took over 45 minutes the hostess was super sweet and apologetic but the food was majorly lacking. I got miso soup had it just had like a piece of seaweed, no tofu no scallions or anything you'd normally find in a good miso soup. The crunchy roll was just okay, it fell apart so I couldn't eat it with chopsticks. My husband's fried rice was lacking flavor and the description sounded so colorful but it had like zero veggies and the meat was so finely chopped he was like searching through the rice to find protein. All this could be forgiven but my husband work up in the night with what we think was food poisoning and the only thing I didn't have was the rice... Don't think I will be going back, we were very dissatisfied and it was kinda pricey too
Highly disappointed. I was craving Akita Cedar Hill and decided to give this place a try for takeout since Akita is partnering or joining but it was the worst decision! the food was a disappointing. Very very bland. 1/10 for sure! chicken teriyaki did not even have teriyaki. I should have made the drive to Akita from Waxhachie. Will do next time.
Arrived here on a Sat 3/23/24 at around 2:30 PM. They weren’t busy. The host said I could sit at the bar. Sat there for about 25-30 minutes and the servers wouldn’t even look in my general direction. Was it because I was the only African American there? Maybe…not like it’s never happened to me before…and it certainly felt that way. Felt as if they didn’t want me there. Very sad.
Don’t eat here they got roaches and they’ll make you wait to eat hibachi until everyone gets there and then when everyone gets there, don’t make you wait at hibachi for 20 to 30 minutes unless I get some more people to sit with you just go down the street better atmosphere better food better service
Disappointed with the experience. Service was very slow, there were no cooked sushi options or vegetable spring rolls available, and the lemons and limes in the drinks were clearly old. Won’t be returning
Experience was not good at all. The food did not impress. I had the chicken and steak hibachi. Steak was over cooked and very tough. The chicken was undercooked. Everything felt rushed. I was there minimum an hour and my drink was never refilled. Literally sipping melted ice. Bad experience will never go here again.
Horrible customer service, I came in at 9:20 pm to place a to go order and no one came to the front the back staff seen me standing there and told no one.
