Traveled for 2 weeks from Texas to Cali. Cracker Barrel saved us. That's how we relaxed and felt at home while on the road. Wonderful place!
I Had had one the best experiences of my lifetime. My service was impressive. From the time I was greeted by my server Madison and as we were walking out she had fantastic recommendations for the family I got the catfish and it was exactly how she described it and my husband got the chicken fried steak cooked perfectly. Madison’s friendly attitude is so infectious so I will be back and I will definitely call ahead to make sure Madison will be there so I can ask for her again
My dear friend & I meet here often to catch up on life. It is our favorite place. The food & service are always great! After eating we enjoy shopping in the country store. There are several precious ladies that are always there to help you with any questions you may have. We find the cutest & unique clothes for ourselves & being a grandma, I can’t resist the adorable clothes & toys for my grandchildren. And with their rewards program, the points add up quickly for freebies. Always a great experience. Please don’t change a thing!
The food at Cracker Barrel never disappoints. Service is great as well. Love going there with my family. There's only one issue: you can't hear yourself speak over all the noise. :/
Oh my goodness this Cracker Barrel was an Amazing visit as it’s always a place I can get breakfast and maybe a out fit as they have the neatest things for ladies and ran into not Ms Grace before I ate and was able to pick out something for the 4th of July and put it behind the register until I ate breakfast. Then after I ate I was paying for the out fit and the meal and ran into Ms Grace showing me a dress…. Oh my goodness a hat to go with the dress caught my eye. Ms Grace was a jewel in assisting me we just had a grand old time as I picked up a few more things. Ms Grace and Ms Melonie jewels folks that just makes a visit to Cracker Barrel priceless…. Thank you as your hospitality is unmatchable! Ms Rita Finch from Georgia
Cracker Barrell. An American classic of old things being made to look new, or new things being made to look old. I took a picture of actual cotton, taken apart and reassembled in China with fake cotton, tagged for sale. This consumerist kitsch aside, the food is good old fashioned American fried classics. Overseas visits are perplexed by the concepts of grits, biscuits and gravy. All day breakfast is a treat and their lighter calorie count items are welcome to balance multiple visits.
We were seated quickly, drinks and food both arrived in short order. Courteous staff and comfort foods.
I picked up my order and it was right on time. Food was excellent. You can keep these stars, but here's my personal 1 star. Where's the fried chicken? Remember? the pieces have actual bones in them. Please put it back on the menu. Great job.
Kim our waitress was AMAZING! We sat down and as we were ordering my mother let slip it was my birthday. Kim pulled out all the stops to ensure it was a great Birthday lunch. I was so stuffed I couldn't eat the last bite of cakebut everything was so delicious! A+ would eat here again!
Went in Monday morning (6/9)for a late breakfast. Our waitress was Libby and she was great and attentive. Always checking on us and refilling our drinks. The food was great as usual (our go to is the cheesecake pancakes and the pancake tacos). The manager (Michelle) came around to make sure everything was satisfactory and was a pleasure to talk to. It's one of our favorite breakfast spots!
this was my first time dining in at cracker barrel since my early childhood and goodness gracious they upgraded in every possible way. i dont know who this jay guy is but he knows how to run things around here and epitomizes great work ethic for a store manager. he must have a son and daughter because even the employees raved about his leadership. congratulations crack barrel. you have earned a patron for life who will continue comimg back because of jay!
Had a great visit with my grandson. Our server was Gabby... she did seem a bit newer as it took an extended time or multiple trips to get everything, but she was so kind and friendly. We waited several minutes to be greeted at our table initially even though other servers were around other tables, but we weren't in a hurry so it was fine. The food was yummy.... we had the kids grilled cheese with fries and the vegetable plate.
We went again on January 4, 2022 and I ordered the stuffed cheesecake pancake breakfast for dinner and it was beyond delicious (I attached a picture of it). I typically hate going into Cracker Barrel because I end up spending too much money in their store, but I bought the cutest little dress for my grandbaby, who'll be here just a few weeks before Easter!!! I love their fried cod and honestly I don't think there's any place that is as good; it is well drained and not greasy at all! I just hate that they don't serve it every day of the week!!!
Host seated us quickly and in a spot that fit all the guests comfortably. Service was awesome from a great young lady, Gentry. Attentive, great work ethic and enjoyed being there. Food hit the spot even though I got the home style chicken, mashed potatoes and rice. Others got breakfast and they said it also hit the spot. Great place to consider to stop when you go through.
We had a wonderful breakfast! This place never fails. We always have great service, yummy food and we enjoy looking around in their store.
Our server was great and the food as always was great. This is our 50+ stay over as full time campers. Thanks Cracker Barrel we love to be able to have a great safe place to stay and get a home cooked meal.
Always great service. Just check your order. They forgot a baked potatoe once. Other than that, if you like pickles, get their fried pickels. My wife doesn't, but she actually order an order to go. That's how good they are.
Thanks again for the food and overnight RV stay.
Our server was exceptional! Very attentive and brought out drinks and food Very fast. He made sure to check on us and make sure we were always doing good. Exceptional service. I can't remember his name, Lenny? But excellent service.
I visited this location yesterday and was blown away by the service and food. I had never been to a cracker barrel before and this place has set the bar very high. The food was fantastic and so filling. I got the dumpling samplers with a side of okra and macaroni and this did not disappoint. The staff was so kind in making sure I had a wonderful experience big shout out to Mason my waiter and grace the general manager. And even though I never got her name a shout out to the kind young lady behind the register who made sure they all went above and beyond with their service.
I stopped by here to have lunch while I was traveling thru the state of Texas. Order the NY strip and pancakes 🥞! It was delicious. Our server Lorean young lady is very kind and fast service. Me and my father really got sat, ate, and left in about 30 minutes! Very very fast. Lorean is the best server in there!! Manager!!! Please give her a raise! I will definitely come back and see her!
We had a giftcard for Cracker Barrel so we decided to grab dinner there last night and I'm so glad we did. We started with fried pickles and they were so hot and fresh. Very crispy and great in the ranch. We both got the country fried chicken which comes with two huge pieces of fried chicken. My lady got corn, mashed potatoes and dumplins. Corn was sweet, very tasty. Dumplins were hot and delicious. The mashed potatoes that we both got with brown gravy were amazing. I got the hash brown casserole that was a little overcooked but I liked the crispy hash brown bits personally. I also got the Mac and cheese which was super creamy and delicious. Now on to these two huge pieces of chicken, wow. They were crispy and crunchy. The batter was very tasty and stayed on the entire time. We got the Sawmill (white) gravy on the side so that it didn't make them soggy. So much chicken that we both were able to take one piece home. Everything was hot and fresh including the biscuits they brought out which were awesome in the gravy btw. Very hot and fluffy. Our server Rena was the absolute best and made our dining experience 10x better. She was very on point, stayed on top of drink refills, brought us extra sauces super fast, checked on us regularly, and always had a smile on her face. If you go in, ask for her! She was awesome and I hope the management at Cracker Barrel knows it. Anyway, everything was 11/10 for us. We left full with plenty of leftovers and big smiles.
All I can say is, I didn’t know Cracker Barrel had so much to see on the inside. I’d heard alot about the food. It’s taken me many years to finally go there, and I enjoyed meandering around taking note of all the items they carry for sale. All kinds of stuff. We ate and the food was filling, giving a down home “Sunday dinner” type of vibe. Really cool place, you can buy alot of gifts / keepsakes here, so come prepared to browse and spend on more than dinner.
Wonderful food, excellent service, great prices for good home cooking! We had the amazing pot roast that is cooked 14-16 hours and is so tender. My husband had the pork chops. Both were amazing!! Another treat is to experience one of the most wonderful gift shops. Great place to buy thoughtful gifts and cards. So much fun!!!

they are always clean and have friendly employees. the food is consistently good and nice sized portions. the prices are up a bit from pre-covid, but not as bad as many other places.

The waitress must have been new. She did not bring drinks or bread timely. When I got my plate, she did not have the baked potato, and I was almost done with food when I got it. I requested cornbread when I ordered but she did not bring it, she did bring me one muffin when I was almost done. It took over 40 minutes to get our food but it did taste good !! Just needed a better waitress !!
originally seated at table in crowded area. When the server came to take our order, we requested to be moved. She graciously took us to another table. Sunday fried chicken was good and had the take home box the next day while I was traveling.
Food and atmosphere are good. I don’t think the food is amazing, but it’s nice and their prices are great for 2025. The thing that stood out most here was the service. We went on Mother’s Day and they were slammed, but remained so courteous and helpful the whole time.
Our waitress was hard to track down and when she was around she would not make eye contact or look at us while talking, may just be her personality and it may not be the job for her, she was nice. We tried to small talk. My food tasted good but the juice from my green beans had flooded the plate making things runny and soggy. I am not horribly picky and I didn't wanna make a big deal but now I know to ask them to drain veggies next time. 🤷🏼♀️
Food was ok, ham smelled like road kill, had to send back, chocolate cake was stale. But over all service was very good.
A bit crowded but that's to be expected on the weekend. Food was great and the service was awesome
Food was hot and delicious! Pancakes were even fluffier than other Cracker Barrels I’ve been too! Rosa was sweet, amazing, warm, attentive, and patient! As always can’t leave without buying something from their store. Ambiance was the same cold and cozy atmosphere as the others.
Friendly atmosphere, kind and attentive staff. Clean restaurant and restrooms. I stop at Cracker Barrel for the gift shop more than the food. Food is plentiful and adequate, nothing outstanding.
Menu changes constantly, which is frustrating. Prices are rising constantly as well, moreso than other food establishments. Need more veggie choices besides high carb options, like squash, black eyes, cabbage, etc. Bring back jalapeño skillet cornbread, please. Take away extra pricing for sweet potatoes, salads, and other side "premium" side dishes, making improved selections for a variety of sides.
I got Togo so I was just at the store side but the service was just amazing they had the sweetest young man working I’m thinking he said his name was Conner Colin. Something like that but he was just so well mannered and helpful you don’t get that anymore and he just had a warm inviting smile makes me want to go back over and over again oh and yes the food was wonderful thank you Cracker Barrel and thank you young man at the store front
Really love the food with authentic old style American. My classic fried chicken was perfect. When we were there the server only by herself on lunch time. Took more than 15 minutes to get drinks and biscuit. And the foods came take too long. That's only concern management need put action. Other than that love Cracker Barrel.
Great great service the staff is really friendly. The food was good a 3.5 out of 5. The inside is really nice the place clean that's always a plus. The staff super nice makes you feel welcomed. The eggs I ordered was scrabble but the shell was still in there if it was really small I wouldn't mind, I make eggs it happens but it was a dime size yeah that I had to say something. I wasn't upset because it happens so they also where nice and changed my eggs. So all In all a great place. A good 3.8 out of 5 I'd go back. But ask for over easy eggs and the sausage cooked a little more.

Classic timeless interior feels, cool shop with lots of fun and interesting things, nice staff, but sadly inconsistent food and drinks.

If you have a group of more than 6 don’t expect to sit together…we had a group of 9 family members and were told the wait would be 45 min. The wait was no problem and when our time came all 9 of us were walked back to the dining room and it was not until that time that they told us we had to split to 2 different tables. I understand not being able to accommodate larger groups. What is unacceptable is not being told until you walk back to the dining room after waiting 45 minutes. The food was 7/10. The server we had was 10/10.
Cracker barrel is your average chain/franchise. Decent food at a decent price. Last visit they actually served me bacon so burnt when I asked for a replacement and showed it to her our server said "oh that was bacon?!" Other visits have been fair and my son loves the candy/you section so 3 stars.
They were out of the southern fried chicken so I got the fried chicken breast. The breading/skin was so chewy I didn't eat 1/2 of 1 piece. My daughter liked her chicken strips and loaded mashed potatoes.
Service was extremely slow with a very light crowd, the food was great. I asked for an order of sour dough toast and the waitress then asked "would you like that toasted? ". We had lots of fun, however had to interrupt the gathering of staff (on their cell phones) several times for service. The lighting and shadows must always be taken into consideration as well..........
The food was good. Our waitress was not attentive at all. We were her only table, and she never checked on us. She never refilled our drinks, and my coffee was cold by the time she brought me creamer. She brought my husband's hot sauce after he was done eating his eggs. The front staff was super awesome
Its a touch and go with this place sometimes the food is great other times not so much. I also think there's a lack of communication with the servers and the kitchen. Didn't eat anything here cause the pork chops were gone and the campfire chicken was burnt and dry while the carrots were rubbery. They asked if I wanted anything else but no my appetite was ruined. Shared some of my husband's cfs it was good.
My husband and I went on a Wednesday night because of their special. Their portions were ridiculously small for the main dish. (See pictures) The server, while having a great personality, seemed over booked tables so drinks weren't refilled. We didn't get the chance to tell the server about the portion and when we told the cashier they didn't do anything about it. Other than finding green beans in my mashed potatos, the flavor of the food was delicious.
I usually like cracker barrel but today I tried the chicken dippers and this has got to the the worst chicken I've had in a long time. Very rubbery, very bland. Same with the mashed potatoes and green beans. It takes me back to the days of eating cafeteria food from middle school. The saving grace is the staff and how friendly they are. I didn't need to ask for much as they had a variety of sauces and even my buffalo sauce which if it wasn't for the buffalo sauce I'm not sure I could get these "chicken tenders" down. The mash potatoes were probably the best thing on the plate and only after I used salt and pepper to make them less bland. Over all I give a 3 star and the staff and service is the only reason I'd return. Not for the food.
I love cracker barrel but maybe thanksgiving day wasn't the best time to go. The special thanksgiving meal was sooo dry. We had a reservation but had to wait another 20 minutes. We didn't get our biscuits until we were all done. I'm grateful they were open and we had a place to eat. They were so busy that the service was lacking.
Update.....! I'm guessing that you didn't get the point with my last review..... Let me spell it out for you. DO BETTER OR YOU WILL LOOSE A CUSTOMER...! Ever location that I visit has some kind of uniform to the portion size of there food. But yours doesn't! I come in the other day and the chicken fried chicken was over cooked. You tried to make it right. Thank you for that. This morning I come in for breakfast and the pancakes are small and your cook doesn't know what over medium is when it comes to eggs. DO BETTER...... I have been visiting this location 1 to 2 times a month every month for 3 years. Love the food and atmosphere. Customer service is okay but needs some work. I have always done my best to make my customers feel welcome and do what ever it took to keep them happy and appreciated. If you have customers waiting out side the door and its 5 minutes till open, Open the door and let your customers in. I personally think that a customer should feel welcomed don't make them stand there and wait 5 minutes. If it was my place I would open the door the second I had seen a customer walk up even if it was even 15 minutes before. Make your customers feel like they are the most important person to you! After all they chose to eat there. We could have always chosen to eat somewhere else. Please keep that in mind when you want to make us wait.
Stop by again on 02/19/24, the cornbread and biscuits were cold and dry. Food was good, but bite into a bone, in pinto beans. Catfish was hot. Stop by to eat, looked at menu, 3 of us decided on the fried chicken 🍗. It looked good on the menu. But to our surprise they didn't have any today. Not that they were out already but they didn't have it today. Very disappointed. Couldn't get a drink refill, was going to give it 2 stars but the food was amazing.

The hostess and cashier were both amazing. The server we had wasn't the best. She didn't seem to care about our needs. My food was unacceptable (I don't want to post the issue) and asked for something else. When she took my old plate away, my fork was on it. I asked for a clean fork when she brought my replacement food back and when she didn't show up for over 5 min (not long, but when everyone else is eating, it sucks) so I got up and asked the hostess for one. Then when my server finally showed up, I told her I got it myself and she said, "oh" and threw it on the table anyhow. The food we all got was barely warm, and not hot at all. My husband had the chicken and dumplings and it lukewarm. Cracker Barrel can do better.
Me and my husband went for breakfast this am. When we received our meals the bacon looked old, was well done and fell apart. Our hasbrown casserole was cold. When the manager came out we explained the problem and we were very disappointed. She then looked at us and said well I seen the plates come back they had steam coming off them. I then said to her ma’am go stick your finger in the potato’s because they were cold and the bacon looks old. I have no reason to lie, we’re unhappy with the temperature of our food. She continued to argue with us. Not even apologizing. The bad thing is they were not even busy!
The waitress was nice but the food and timing can really use some work. We went for breakfast, Monday morning around 10am, and there really wasnt alot of people there. We got seated right away. We ordered the sunrise sampler and biscuits and gravy with bacon. After we ordered it took over 30 minutes to get our food. They were out of hashbrown casserole so I had to get regular hash browns instead. When the food came out I have never seen a Cracker Barrel serve such small portions and I have been to Cracker Barrels all over the country from Pensacola, Fl to New York and Washington and in between. My daughter got this bowl of gravy with one biscuit on it and one small under cooked piece of bacon on it. I got two eggs with a small spoon of grits that you couldn't even see under the eggs (my daughter even asked where were my grits), a half a piece of over cooked bacon, a burnt sausage patty, and a burnt piece of ham. I also was given a plate with only bowl of gravy nothing else. I dont know what I was supposed to do with it. Then my hashbrowns I received, instead of hashbrown casserole, were extremely undercooked (middle was still mushy and cold). When I asked where was the extra biscuits and cornbread we were told they ran out of biscuits and was cooking more (again not alot of people there the whole time and we had been there for about an hour at this point) and we were never offered cornbread. I was joking with a friend and took a picture of my daughters plate which got my hashbrowns and the empty plate of gravy. I didn't think about taking one of mine. My daughter's statement is it is the worst Cracker Barrel I have ever brought her too and again anytime we travel which is ALOT we stop and eat at a Cracker Barrel (I'm not going to name all the different cities).
I was surprised to see that one of my favorite restaurants that I frequent has fallen from its once notable standard. I ordered the country fried steak with carrots and a loaded baked potatoe. When the food was brought out. I was given a singular underbreaded cubed steak. No sides and no gravy. The steak was clearly used with very old oil and the taste confirmed it. It did not help that it was over cooked. When I asked the staff on if the steaks came with gravy still. I was told it was coming separately. I stated that I understood and waited for the rest of my meal. When the rest of the meal was brought to me. I noticed that the gravy was very watery and the flour was separated and was off. As said with the steak, the taste confirmed my observations. Cracker barrell once had one of the best chicken (country) fried steaks. All the food that was provided was bland and lacked the signature taste Cracker Barrel provides (with the exception of the biscuits and cornbread.) If serving prebattered frozen pucks that are burnt in old oil is what it's come to. Then I believe practices need to be reevaluated at the Abilene Texas restaurants. I do not want reimbursement nor anything from the company. I am putting this out there in hopes that they see this and maybe take note of the failings that can be certainly corrected.
I had the special broccoli cheese chicken and it was terrible. Almost no broccoli, and whatever the greasy crumbles were on top was disgusting. Sides were not hot. I had to ask my server for everything twice, got up to find napkins, told him the food was not good at all and he said, well sorry about that. Paid full price at the register and did leave him a 15% tip, because he didn’t cook the food, just disappointed as I was looking for a good lunch while on a 6 hour drive.
We ordered our food set there almost 45 min before we got our food. I ordered small bowl of dumplings & got a large heaping bowl of dumplings & water was flowing to the top. The waitress said they were having trouble in the kitchen. It was also freezing inside with the temp outside 25. The waitress was super nice. She said they had gotten a lot of complaints. Need to get their kitchen straightened up.
Well, I tried Cracker Barrel again. Our waitress seemed to be new and wasn't very good at answering questions. I opted for 2 fish and six to eight shrimp with fries. Although the menu states everything is handmade, I could not discern that in this order. The fish was nondescript, the shrimp looked like what you get in the frozen section at the grocery, but the fries were quite good, but no catsup was offered. The tartar sauce was little more than mayonnaise, and the shrimp sauce....words fail me, maybe "funky." Perhaps they should concentrate on breakfast items, as their entrées leave much to be desired. It's probably my last time to be disappointed .
I'd been driving 7 hours and really needed a meal that wasn't fast food. Yeah, it was a little after nine, but they don't close until 10:00. But, seriously, this is what you serve, burnt meat, and not even place it neatly on the plate? At least the salad was nice. The waitress was nice enough to take it back, but I think they just scraped off the burnt part and threw it back on the plate again. I wouldn't serve that. But, whatever.
It's a typical chain restaurant. Not sure what the popularity is about this place. The food was basic. Nothing appeared to be freshly cooked. If you like cool (as in temperature) food,.. then this place is okay. ****UPDATE **** I always give credit when it is deserved. Cracker Barrel responded to my review within 24 hours. I will reach out to them and update my review as needed. It seems as if they are truly concerned about their customers. More to come...
I love the look of Cracker Barrel especially the country store. Very cute merchandise! After several attempts of trying to eat their food I tried it yet again and this time I was very disappointed. I ordered the country fried steak with two sides, a side salad and fried okra. The side salad was was okay but the ranch had a sour taste to it and my steak had an aftertaste of frozen cardboard it was actually disgusting. I tried but I'm afraid I won't go back any time soon nor will I order that food. My husband ordered a side of carrots tasting like tin carrots, not fresh. Staff was friendly but I have to be honest, it was just not good.
I love Cracker Barrell but this time it was such a disappointment. My whole family was given cold food, we got a rude waitress and my cheeseburger and fries looked old, dry and cold. I can't believe I was offered such poor service and terrible food. I hope they never give old and cold food to other customers.
Took a good 10 mins to get seated. Not because they were busy at the time. There was only one little girl doing it and she would disappear. Finally got seated. Sat there for another 10 mins with 2 tables being seated after us and getting waited on with in a couple mins. I finally had to flag someone down to wait on us. He was very nice about it. Then we got our food. It. Was. Cold. All of it. I took a pic of the butter on the pancakes not melting at all. When checking out the very nice lady called for a manager (Alex) who was very apologetic. She did not charge us for our food (which we were wanting to pay for because we did eat what we could stomach). It had been 2 yrs since we had been here because it was so bad the last time. Hopefully Alex can get something done.
This was our first visit ever! We were excited as soon as we walked in. The general store is filled with fun and beautiful items. From clothes to snacks, candy and candles. I could spend a couple of hours just looking around. We were quickly seated and greeted by a cheerful waitress. The atmosphere is so relaxing. The walls are covered with antiques, old pictures and things of the past. The blackberry tea I ordered was way too sweet and very strong. Almost like drinking coffee. And I drink black coffee. I asked for it to be diluted, and the second glass was worse. We weren't served our bread until our meal came out. In fact, the customers that came about 20 minutes after us, received their bread and plates almost immediately. Once our food came out, we were so disappointed. My husband ordered the chicken fried chicken with fried okra and mashed potatoes with brown gravy. The potatoes were not smooth but chunky and the gravy was horrible. The chicken had no bone and was more like a chicken fried steak. After eating the first piece he ordered some white gravy to put on the second piece. He said although the chicken was tender, it had no flavor. The gravy tastes like flour. So perhaps it wasn't cooked long enough. I ordered the country fried steak. It was horrible! It was not what I expected. It tasted like breakfast sausage. I thought it was the gravy. But it was the meat. Every single bite tastes like breakfast sausage. The breading was not crisp and the gravy had no flavor since all I tasted was sausage. Salad was crisp but the dressing tasted sour. The loaded baked potato was hard and dry. I could not finish the meal. It was just not good. This is by far the worst place we have ever eaten at. We will not eat here again. However, we will return to shop at the general store. We enjoyed walking around, there is so much to look at. And the prices are very reasonable...

Not as good as other Cracker Barrel's imo. Our \nwaitress was nice though. \nMaybe breakfast choice would've been better.

TLDR: kitchen wouldn’t cut my burger in half, didn’t complete my order, manager didn’t care, I left. I went in and ordered a burger with fries and a second order of fries to go. I asked that they cut the burger in half and the waitress said she’d see what she could do. When it came out, there was only one box in the bag and the burger was not cut in half. When I asked for a knife to cut it in half she tried to hand me a plastic knife. I said that wouldn’t work and asked for a real knife. I then asked where my extra order of fries was and she said it was in the box. There were maybe 12 fries in the box so I disagreed with that and asked to have the second order taken off my bill. She said she’d have to get a manager and then waited until I finished cutting the burger to take the knife back, then go get the manager. The manager said that the kitchen told her it was two orders of fries and wouldn’t do anything for me. It’s ridiculous to me that she will trust that the kitchen staff that was too lazy to cut a burger in half would be industrious enough to properly weigh out two portions of fries. I was appalled at the lack of care and customer service. I left the food there and walked out.
I wish I could give it more, when it's good, it is good! Service has been extremely poor lately. 25 to 30 minutes before someone comes to take a drink order, another 30 minutes for food, and you have to hunt the server down if you want a drink refill. And if you ordered a meal that "includes biscuits and cornbread" you have to specifically ask for it or they just won't bring it out. I wish I could recommend it, but right now I can't. *Review edited from 3 stars to 1, after two more visits similar to this experience.
Update. cracker barrel contacted me and basically comped my meal that day. so thank you CB. 5/16/2022 really disappointed. chicken fried steak was precut patty . literally almost a perfect circle. I remembered it being hand made at one time. but costs goes up and quality went down. now the chicken and dumpling wife got were great. so I guess win some loss some.
We ordered thru GrubHub and it was a disaster we got the order both undercooked entrees and our dessert had been substituted with a side order of French fries 🍟? Really called up Manager said they were out of dessert though the app allows you to order it, no call by GrubHub or the restaurant and then to boot the Manager said it was not their fault. Why are the substituting fries for dessert as their independent choice. Obviously this restaurant can't handle courteous customer service for expensive delivery 🚚 orders. I will never go back here it is overpriced, oversalted and over the top 🔝 of mistakes at the cost of a customers hard earned money. It is not right businesses like this don't pick up a phone to call their customers. Stop rushing thru your jobs and focus. Here is a picture of my potpie on the skids.
Nobody at the counter! Nobody at hostess stand and the manager unwilling dragged himself slowly to seat 1 person and dissappeared for a few minutes after which I abandoned my quest to eat here. If you read my reviews of other Cracker Barrel establishments you will see some get 4 stars and some dont. In this case, not even being able to get seated should rank this store for zero stars but the app wont let me select zero stars. My desire if for leadership at corporate to take notice , get on a plane do a full investigation and implement some meaningful changes to this store and restore it back to level that has made Cracker Barrell famous, ie good food and great service.
My girlfriend and I went and had Brunch yesterday. I ordered the country boy and an unsweetened black tea. I had finished my tea and set my cup on the edge of the table and not one time did she refill my cup.my girlfriend ordered Grandpa's breakfast and a half sweetened iced tea with a country fried steak and specifically asked for the gravy to be put on the side. When she received her food her country fried steak had a huge pile of country gravy on top. Yes it was actually in a pile it was the consistency of completely done jello. So she told the waitress and she offered to bring her a new one. About 30 minutes later i still had not gotten a refill and we had to have another waitress find our waitress because we had to go. She came over and we told her we didn't want it anymore and needed our check because we had to go. And my girlfriend asked for a discount because she never even got her country fried steak. The waitress went to talk to her manager then came right back and said here it just popped up in the window and I put your gravy on the side. During this whole visit not one time did our waitress check on us nor did she offer a refill. I'm giving zero stars for service because of how horrible the experience was.
We placed a to-go order on Sunday around 7:20 with the app saying it would be ready at 8:02. My wife arrived at 805 and they hadn't even started on our order. At 8:25 they brought our order. When she checked the order it was not correct. They argued with her about it being right it. She had to pull everything out again and show the items they left off. She finally got out of there 40 minutes after the order was ready. We always wait to tip when we pick up our order just for times like these. TheyThey got no tip on over $100 order. Never going back to this Cracker Barrell again. Cotton Patch is much better!
Its pretty sad that ive had better service and hospitality from a Cracker Barrel in downtown Chicago than i can get from a small country town in Texas. I frequent Cracker Barrel when traveling is this location is one of the worst ive been to. The waitress was absent i couldn’t even get a drink refill until i was ready to leave. As it was the yea tasted like it was a couple of days old. The location was not busy at 8pm but the kitchen slopped the food on the plate so haphazardly they couldn’t even strain the corn or green beans making everything else on the plate soggy and frankly disgusting ( see picture attached ). I had asked for extra biscuits and was not given any which thank god because the biscuits were stale. This was such a disappointing experience i will likely never return to any Cracker Barrel in the future.
We had the absolute worst service and food at this location. Our server was basically non existent and the food was not even edible. We had a large party. 6 adults and 3 kids under 10. We expected it to take some time to get our food but we did not expect to see tables of 4 being sat, served and finishing meals between the time we ordered our food and when it came out. Even then, I had to ask about it. I honestly feel like the server forgot to put our ticket in and then had to "make" plates from the old food that had sat in the kitchen for hours. I ordered over easy eggs and they came out with hard chewy yolks. The grits were the consistency of water. The chicken fried steak was send back because it couldn't even be cut it was so tough, much less eaten. Even the kids grilled cheese were burnt to a crisp. I spoke to the manager multiple times and some of the items were removed from our bill. It wasn't enough. Very poor service and poor management as well. We will certainly not return.
I called in my order so I could pick it up on my way to work. When I got there I was told that they were out of what I ordered. No one attempted to call and let me know this. I had already paid for my food so they substituted chicken and dumplings. They were terrible. They were all stuck together and hard as rocks. It was also too salty. I also got mashed potatoes. They didn’t put any gravy on it or to the side like I asked. The potatoes were also dry and lumpy. I would have appreciated a call so that I could have changed or canceled my order. I explained to them that I had to be a work so I didn’t have much time. I ended up being late for work because of this. I am very disappointed I. The food and experience.
Spent money in both the restaurant and the store. Both need retraining!!! Hardly any of the Glitter globes had working batteries so we couldn't see how well they worked, had to ask for several to have the batteries to be changed, we were only offered assistance once, by one floor staff, everyone would rather stand around and socialize. Several other customers, had walked out and complained, and we should have followed. We haven't received but 2 plates of our 7 plates, no refills unless, we ask, and the food service Manger is making a joke of it. DO NOT EAT HERE!!! NOT WORTH YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!! The shop and kitchen are poorly ran. Corporate will be called!!! All the food has to be frozen, and left open in the bags, it all tastes freezer burnt. I don't know what's going on in this store but it needs cooperate attention. It has gone down hill, since our last visit. People next to us just walked out because they never received their food, and they were here before us. Something is wrong with this store, why is it being ignored????
RACIST..They refused to let my friend and me dine in, claiming the restaurant was full and that it would take a long time to serve us. We decided to leave quietly, but as we were walking away, a kind woman coming out of the restaurant told us the truth — there were plenty of empty tables inside. It was clear they simply didn’t want two Black men dining there. Absolutely unacceptable and racist.
We came in about an hour before closing and that was apparently the reason for my multiple reasons of non satisfaction. At least that's what the server continued to tell me. I ordered the sampler with meatloaf and chicken and dumplings. My first plate arrived with a hair in it. I sent it back and waited for my second plate and when it arrived the food was cold even though it came out promptly due to being a re make. The taste of the cold food was not good. I asked for the biscuits that come with my meal to be told they were out. Throughout all of this the servers continued to explain that all my issues were because they were gonna be closing soon. I was asked if I wanted to talk to a manager which I declined. Which I really wish I hadn't done. This type of service is becoming more and more acceptable and it is not right. Of all the places I could have ate at I chose y'all and to be met with this type of lack of caring for the food that was put out is not acceptable.
Food was cold and not 100% correct. Service sucked took 30-45mins to get food to our table, cornbread tasted like crap. Manager did take 1 plate off because we ordered chicken and dumplings with 3 sides and got a small bowl instead of what we ordered. But food was cold all the way around with my other family that I have with me. Took about 10-15 mins once we were sat to even see a server
We were a party of 6, I was told 25 min wait. 40 minutes later I go ask the host for an update and she made that dumb oops I forgot face and started scrolling until she found it. Didn't know what to say so just said they were still waiting for the tables to be cleaned. I walked away but when I looked back, the 2 girls were talking and giggling until they saw I was looking at them and they immediately stopped and had that "we got busted" look. Meanwhile a party of 5 and another party of 6 were seated while we waited, and they arrived well after us and got on the list, but somehow were seated before us. Since I went up there, 5 mins later that were calling our name, we just left as we were on a time crunch. They took forever to seat us, they were probably going to take forever to serve us. Definitely will never stop in at this location again.
Rude waitress. Ordered the fried turkey with a sweet potato upgrade. The turkey was dry and tough and the butter knife they give you couldn't cut it. The cranberry relish was missing, I was told they ran out. The sweet potato only had butter and I was told they were out of the other toppings too. Maybe they should tell me that before uncharging me full price for something I'm getting 50% of. Also, it took 45 mins after putting in our order to get our food. There was a small wait when we got there but by the time we got our food, the restaurant was half empty. I've always had great service at all the Cracker Barrels I've been to, except this one. This one ruined everything
Where is the zero stars Its 30 outside and their fans are circulating cold air. They are out of fire wood for the fire place , we all knew cold weather was coming. Yet there is a walmart within 600ft. Go get the wood and expense it and be a good manager instead of a lazy one who likes it cold bc he is 300plus lbs. 90% of the people in here are wearing their heavy jackets and warm hats! This is ridiculous.
Waited 30 minutes to be seated, they were busy so I understand that. Waiter was fair but we waited too long for our order to be brought to our table. Our food was very cool and must have been waiting a long time to be delivered. Nothing would melt the butter. While we stood around in the store we were pushed to buy stuff, we did not want. The atmosphere was not welcoming. There were three cashiers and after standing in line to pay out I was told I had to go to another line to pay. I did, angry. While standing in that line the first cashier took payment from other people. Atmosphere and service all around was awful excpt for the waiter who was very busy and did what he could. They made sure we would not want to return and we will not.
I have never had such a bad experience at Cracker Barrel like the one I had yesterday. It took longer than half an hour to get our food. When the food arrived the eggs were over cooked. You needed a knife to eat them. Pancakes were burned as seen in this picture. We told them about it and somebody went looking for the manager. Apparently, the manager was nowhere to be found so we left cause we could not afford to remain there any longer. What a disappointment! Paid $26.25 and left hungry.
I went with my family to have dinner There were 9 of us and we were passing through town, we drove 4 hours so we were so hungry and stopped at Cracker Barrel and the service was horrible, 20 minutes to serve our drinks, 30 minutes for bread and biscuits, and wait 2 hours for be serving our food never arrived to our table! But two other parties tabled over 7 and 9 people showed up after us and got drinks, fresh bread, and food less in than an hour but our table was on the waiting list to be served until we said enough with the waiting we called the manager and she only told us she was busy supervising in the kitchen and if we leaving pay what we get serving our drinks and 2 side plates was mc cheese for the kid's, the waiter and she only said "" we so sorry"" but I was expecting more and so sorry! And told the truth about why our food was behind for so long, we felt unwelcome in this restaurant, I have the recipe where I pay for the drinks and 2 plates of my cheese. So we decided not to stop anymore to Cracker Barrel. Hope one of the owners takes a look at my review because I'm still upset about this unreal courtesy from a big business of restaurants.

Lo que se dice de Cracker Barrel
Abilene's Cracker Barrel: Hits, Misses, and Heartfelt Service
You know Cracker Barrel, right? That familiar log cabin feel, the rocking chairs out front, the general store beckoning with nostalgia. Here in Abilene, our local spot offers much of what you’d expect, but with a few unique quirks that make up its character. When it comes to the food, the general consensus is that it's good, sticking to those beloved American comfort food staples. Think stacks of fluffy pancakes, crispy bacon, and eggs cooked just right. However, a consistent point of feedback...
Abilene's Cracker Barrel: Comfort and Kindness
You know, sometimes you just crave that familiar, home-style cooking that takes you back. And for many of us here in Abilene, Cracker Barrel often hits that sweet spot. I popped in recently, and it’s clear why it remains a local favorite for American comfort food.First off, let’s talk about the vibe. It's exactly what you expect: rustic, welcoming, and usually bustling. While one friend mentioned it could get a tad chilly inside, it's generally a cozy spot for a meal. What really stands out,
