Opiniones de Ristorante La Maiola New York
Came here in something like 2010 and met the owner. Been dying to come back again ever since, with the memory of the owner telling us he’d been in a movie. Portions and food were exactly how I remembered it. Huge and delicious! I’d come here again !
My wife and I were introduced to La Mela about 20 years ago by a friend who grew up in NYC. This was our first time back and we were not disappointed. The food was fantastic… not cheap at all… but so delicious! For a special occasion, I highly recommend it! Chicken Parmigiana and Chicken Carbonara were both excellent. The portions are large so you won’t walk away hungry. The atmosphere is very quaint and very Italian, which matches the delightful atmosphere outside on Mulberry St. We had a wonderful evening!
I went with a large group and we had reservations in early January. Atmosphere was great. I ordered porcini mushroom ravioli and it was AMAZING. The bread they start you with is good also. Try it with oil and vinegar. I also sampled chicken Parmesan, fettuccine Alfredo, and calamari. All 10/10.
Small and cute restaurant, with a perfect atmosphere for Christmas. Came at 4 before rush hour and got to enjoy a quiet dinner in Little Italy. Huge portions! I got the chicken parm with rigatoni - amazing as others have said. Staff are very friendly and check on you as needed. Usually am not someone who writes reviews but I felt so well taken care of! Thank you for the lovely evening.
We saw good reviews for this place so we decided to give it a shot. We made reservations 3 hours in advance. Reservations are recommended as there is only about 10 tables inside of the main restaurant. We came inside out of the chilling temps and they sat us under one of the few tables with a heat lamp overhead. As we have our three kids with us, all under 7, this was much appreciated. The bread that first arrives to the table was fresh and the kids powered through their first basket in no time. We ordered the calamari appetizer, spaghetti and meatballs, chicken parmigiana, kid special order penne with butter, and finished off with the tiramisu. Portion sizes are large so come prepared to eat. Calamari was lightly battered and delicious. The 2 large meatballs that come with the spaghetti were moist and flavorful. Chicken parmigiana was the star of the night. It’s probably the best chicken parm that my wife and I have ever had. Tiramisu was devoured rather easily between the 5 of us. Best meal we had during our quick 3 day trip to NYC. Service was quick and attentive. We would definitely eat here again.
We had the best experience at La Mela. Anna saved us from leaving Little Italy after getting taken advantage of at a different restaurant down the block. The spaghetti and meatballs were fantastic and the caesar salad was crisp! We would definitely come back here next time we're in the city.
I came to this restaurant with my family. The food was so good and the staff were super friendly! The atmosphere was so homey and felt like I was having dinner at a friends house. This place definitely made my Little Italy experience for me! Would come here again if I was in town and will also recommend to anyone I know coming here!
We stopped by on a whim while on vacation in new york and was greeted by John. He said his family has the best food in town and he wasn't wrong. The food was fantastic. You could taste every ingredient that went into the preparation of the food. And the lunch special prices were fantastic. We had the chicken Francais and the chicken parmesan and both were excellent. Will come back to eat here when we're in town again!!
Visited this charming little place on recommendation from a friend. Very good service, easy to get a table, and super tasty food with fresh ingredients. The owner came around to check on me and others, and was highly attentive to my needs and making sure I had what I wanted. I will definitely be returning!
Just a great spot for a great Italian meal..No chance of leaving this place without finding something delicious or god forbid not with a full belly, LaMela delivers in food quality and portion size. Had sidewalk seating and chatted it up with the Maitre D. He was informative on the menu and history and current affairs of the surrounding area. Just a great experience in Little Italy. Will DEFINITELY return
In NYC with my sister. We stopped in a bit before noon and were greeted with such warmth. As we sipped on a La Crema Bottle of wine, the incredible “Butch the Hat” aka Frank Aquilino chatted with us for 45 minutes and we were sooooo fascinated with all his stories of working on Good Fellas and Wise Guys! Not to mention his years in NYC. The Gnocchi is great and the Mussels in white wine truly amazing…don’t pass on them!
We ordered the stuffed mushrooms to start. The sauce was light and creamy, pairing beautifully with the tender mushroom and its soft, flavorful stuffing. No meat — just garlic, onions, Parmesan cheese, olive oil, butter, salt, and pepper — simple ingredients that came together perfectly. Next, we had the rigatoni bolognese. A hearty, comforting dish with a well-balanced blend of protein and acidity. The portion was generous and satisfying. Finally, we tried the porcini mushroom ravioli. I’m not sure what the sauce was, but it struck a perfect balance — not too heavy, not too acidic, not overly creamy. The rich filling of the ravioli paired wonderfully with the sauce. Overall, very simple ingredients, but each dish was thoughtfully crafted and well-executed — proof that simplicity, when done right, can be exceptional.
From the stuff to the food this place is amazing! We got there without a reservation on a Saturday evening and were seated outside within probably 15-20 minutes. Customer service is great, everybody is so polite with a smile on their faces. The food was delicious. We got calamari as an appetizer, they came super quick and there were a lot for three people! The portions were humongous too! Couldn’t finish everything there, so had to take the leftovers home which I don’t mind at all. Our server packed everything for us. Amazing experience!
I had a great Aperol Spritz and the veal tortellini in Alfredo sauce which I chose over the Vodka sauce. We also had spaghetti carbonara, mushroom ravioli and they were 5 stars… my husband had spaghetti with meatballs and he complaint about the pasta quality, the watery red sauce and the tasteless meatballs… Service was great Ambiance… there is room for improvement
Very tasty chicken Parmesan with a side of pasta w/ sauce, and was all a good sized portion. Charcuterie board with prosciutto, cheese & olives was a nice way to start off the dinner. Also tried the spaghetti w/ meatballs. The meatballs themselves were cooked well, but could use a little more flavor inside. Otherwise, the portion was also great.
Was really excited to try this restaurant. I ordered the fettuccine alfredo and my husband ordered the chicken parmesan with side of fettuccine alfredo. I had the caprese salad and he ordered stuff mushrooms. The salad was ok, the center of the tomatoes were hard, couldn't cut through almost like they were frozen. Mushrooms were good. The fettuccine alfredo was very disappointing. It lacked flavor. It tasted like noodles no alfredo flavor at all. My husband said the chicken parm was good, the chicken breast is on the thin side.
