Vitale's Italian Bistro

3 of us dined there this evening for the first time, it won't be our last!! One meal was vodka penne with chicken, another was Rigatoni Bolognese, and mine was the oven roasted salmon. There was also bread with roasted garlic olive oil to dip. All meals included soup or salad. The meals were very healthy portions and we had enough to take home. EVERYTHING was delicious!!! The pasta had a nice "tooth" to it, the sauces were amazing and authentic, the salmon was cooked perfect and the scampi sauce was one of a kind (came with sauted spinach which was actually chard and it was very delicious and unique). For desert we ordered a cannoli and the fried cheesecake- AMAZING!!! The atmosphere is modern but cozy with old black and white family photos. Very clean. The service was perfect as well!!! The bar picked up around 6pm and seemed like a nice place for happy hour! The best part was....3 full meals, 2 deserts and a cocktail....we didn't even break $100!!! Very reasonably priced for high quality food!! Can't wait to go back!!!

Hosted a party of 30 for a bridal shower this weekend. Noreen and Doreen were awesome - from helping set the room until the end, excellent service. Food was great and the space was perfect, if you’re looking to host an event with private space (restaurants closed to the public until dinner time) definitely consider Vitale’s!

After funeral dinner gathering. Waitstaff friendly, we had chicken cutlet with penne pasta and salmon, smashed red potatoes with garden vegetables medley. Both were delicious. Not a fancy place, but very accommodating. Parking was a little difficult due to our large number of folks. Very pleasant.

Food Was so good, salmon just melt in my mouth, The salad dressing was awesome, Bread was soft and crunchy at the same time. And the cheese cake was to die for.. My 1st time there I'll be back. Our server was amazing she was on it, We were upstairs in a private dinner and she took care of all of us by herself and there was 20 of us she rocked it. Pleasant smiling and helpful. Give that woman a raise. Saturday February the 4th at 6 PM!

We hosted a couples banquet here for our church this past Saturday and everything was absolutely amazing! The food, the service, the private upstairs room - everything was perfect! And at a very reasonable cost! Scott and Justin were both great to work with - friendly, accommodating, and communicated well. And our servers Grace and Verna took such great care of our group - really made us feel welcome!! We are planning to have more private parties there in the future!

I recently hosted an event at Vitale's and experienced a few hiccups. I shared my concerns with Justin, and he went above and beyond to make things right. He graciously invited my family back for a complimentary dinner, where we received exceptional service and felt truly welcomed. Thanks to the outstanding customer care, we’ll definitely continue coming back! Highly recommend!

I love this place!! Not only is the food absolutely amazing, but the service is incredible. The owner is very friendly and welcoming to all as he takes the time to talk to everyone & really try to get to know his patrons. Our food always comes out really quickly and is always made to perfection. You guys definitely have a repeat customer out of me, that’s for sure!! 🙂

My date and I ordered bowls of mussels. They were so good we ordered two more bowls plus the side of pasta that we can mix in with the sauce and shared it too. We sat at the bar, as did several other people. we were impeccably served, atmosphere is fantastic. An absolute jewel in Gloucester

First time there. Service, food, atmoshere were outstanding! Will definitely go back for dinner! Grace our server was so nice and friendly, it felt like we knew her all our life. Great place!

After spending the day in Philadelphia watching the Union my family and I ventured into NJ in search of some local Italian eateries. It was a Sunday evening and not many establishments were open however we were fortunate Vitale's Italian Bistro was the exception. Warm welcoming staff greeted us, prompt and attentive wait service, and delicious food in abundance! It was a wonderful evening and a fine way in capping off our 10 day east coast road trip!

Went here on our way to Atlantic City. Very delicious food, I personally had the French onion soup and chicken Marsala. And of course we couldn’t leave without a homemade cannoli. Definitely recommend eating here!

Everything was delicious. We had clams in garlic butter white wine and garlic bread for an appetizer. They were both delicious. My fiance chose lump crab cakes for dinner, and I chose the crab Adriana. Then cheesecake for dessert. Like I said before, no complaints. Everything was wonderful! The parking situation wasn't the greatest, though. They have a very small parking lot on the side of the building and free street parking around the sides of the restaurant. With that said, it was hard to find a spot to park. I will definitely be back. Even though parking isn't the greatest, the food, atmosphere, and service make it worth the trouble to find a spot. I recommend you try this wonderful Italian restaurant! FYI... the chicken gnocchi soup is amazing 👏

After a major issue with our original venue, Vitale’s was available at the very last minute to accommodate 40+ people for our wedding rehearsal dinner. Justin and his staff were incredibly kind and patient when I was panicking about not having a place to feed all the people I was expecting! They let me come in and use the decorations I had purchased for the original venue and store all my gifts on their second floor. The food, the atmosphere and the service was excellent. I cannot stress enough how everyone raves about the food and the service! I’m amazed and blown away by their incredible customer service. I will be a loyal customer for life.

Been there twice and the food is excellent. Our waitress both times was Grace and she is a great and treats you like family. Would highly recommend!!!

We ordered a small pepperoni pizza. Enjoyed each and every slice. It was nice to sit back and enjoy a cold Hieneken beer. The decor was very family oriented and historically antique. The owner was very easy talk to. I Look forward to returning with the rest of my family and enjoying some of the wonderful dishes they offer. Thank you sir.

Honestly this was the best Italian food I’ve ever eaten! I ordered the Lasagna—fresh, hot, delicious with large portion. The seeded bread with garlic oil on side was warm & tasty! The staff (Scott) was so friendly & accommodating & drinks were also amazing! I definitely recommend this restaurant & will be going back again!

Great local Italian restaurant! Conveniently located to Philadelphia International Airport. Met a coworker for business dinner. The complimentary Italian Bread with olive oil and garlic cloves were awesome! The bruschetta and steamed muscles appetizers were excellent! First time I was able to enjoy Braciole since I was a kid!

We had a family funeral held here and they were incredible! thankyou especially to Verna and Hayley for dealing with all of us! Amazing food, amazing service, very kind servers.

We had my sister's celebration of life there, and the staff were outstanding. The food was delicious the next day so I couldn't imagine what it was like fresh. I was too upset to eat at the restaurant. Thank you, everyone, for your patience throughout the day. I will return on better circumstances.

We just had our shower yesterday and the two women working our event were PHENOMENAL! I wish I got their names, but I believe one was Lorraine? I wasn’t feeling well and pushing through the party and she kept making sure I was comfortable, even giving me a cold rag for my neck multiple times. I cannot recommend this place enough. The food is always great! Best penne vodka around.

(Update-2nd visit) We had 10 people for this trip and it was just as fabulous as the other time! I remembered to snap 3 pictures this time too. Hayley was our server doing a great job just like her coworkers. For starters there was a pizza, steamed clams, bruschetta, mussels, French onion soup, crab bisque, you name it and it was probably on the table somewhere 😋 After the salads were eaten, Melanie had Crabmeat Adriana, I had Jumbo Lump Crabcakes and Jim had Shrimp Scampi. One dish further down I recognized was Ravioli. Definitely could be one of our Favorites! Kudos to the chef and Kitchen staff. Workers are always friendly, attentive and timely. Melanie mentioned the barkeep made some excellent white cranberry margaritas, she was happy that I volunteered to be designated driver. (1st visit) The birthday group was missing a few people for this trip but our server Noreen made the dinner really awesome. Everything was a steady flow: drinks, appetizers, dinner and desserts. Her coworkers were quite attentive too, when a dish was empty they moved it out of our way. Great food all around, many of us had leftovers to take home.

Myself and my wife go there for dinner. This place has one of the best kitchens around. Really reasonably priced. Great menu. Friendly staff and atmosphere. Street parking. Someone in my family is having a retirement party there in a couple months. Highly recommended!!

Delicious as always. If you like sauce, be sure to ask for extra. They don't give you much with the chicken parm.

Came here, an Italian restaurant, on st paddy’s day for some reason so the atmosphere was a lil off hearing bagpipes while chomping on garlicky dishes. One of the better meals I’ve had in Gloucester. Would absolutely come back. The garlic rosemary and oil they give you with the bread was a real highlight of the meal.

Here for a baby shower. Older waitresses were amazing and attentive. Chicken Parmesan was crispy and tasty. Rolls were DELISH! I could've eaten just the rolls and been happy lol

We went there for a service after a funeral. They were very accommodating and very nice.

Great food, especially the calamari. People/staff are friendly. We were happy to find it and we will be back!

Never been here myself, but only heard great things so I got my parents a gift card for Christmas. They used the gift card and had a not so great experience. Food was eh, and they waited over an hour for their food I was so excited for them to go, only to be disappointed about their experience.

NYE dinner with a 730 reservation. Upstairs, with overhead cafeteria lighting. No music. No ambiance. Happy New Year. Service was great, so were the mussels with gorgonzola. The bread was a cold sliced hoagie roll. The Whole Fish was a lunch portion filet of Bronzino with cold risotto. A taste of the lobster ravioli was just as unfortunate as it had three discernable internal temperatures and a sauce heavy on tomato paste flavor. It smacked of being rushed. The crabcakes were mostly breading and claw meat. Dessert was bananas foster, which was more like bananas and ice cream with caramel. Again, hurried and not presented well. The busser began breaking down and folding tables next to us while we drank our dessert drinks. He told us it was late. It was 830 on NYE. At the price points they required to dine with them, Vitales did not execute a meal on that level. I was very excited to try this establishment and left extremely disappointed.

Ordered a sausage pizza for delivery via app... Ended up getting a cheese pizza. I got refunded for the missing topping at least. It's greasy and barely has any structural integrity. Pizza crust should be brown on the bottom and firm to touch and not feel like play-doh. It's very clearly undercooked. Also ordered some pasta. The pasta was fine. Would not recommend.

Pizza was barely cooked, dough seemed like it was premade (frozen), sauce also seemed premade (canned), cheese was tasteless, chicken on the carder salad was rubbery and was a pathetic portion (maybe one breast?) I had to double check and make sure I was actually in NJ. What a joke. An insult to the senses. I wouldn't feed my dog this food.

We were really excited to try this establishment for my daughters 18th birthday party however we left highly dissatisfied and most likely will not return . We had a party of five or take 22 , at first we thought this is great we are upstairs but the service soon made us all look at each other like is the server serious. There were 5 tables that sat 7 I believe and some folks had toddlers and babies so we evenly spread out . The server advised we Couldn’t sit at certain tables as they didn’t want the linens dirty . Service was very slow and some weren’t at the table when drink orders were taken . When one individual attempted to order he was told no and that he should have remained in his seat. We honestly looked puzzled as we weren’t sure if this was a joke or not . It took about 30 minutes to receive our drinks . We then asked to order some appetizers as we were all starving at this point . Drinks finally came , soda was flat and we had one server We finally ordered some appetizers and dinner since it is now 6:30 HUNGRY LOL. We asked for an additional server as the one provided was just very monotone , seemed , rude , no smile and looked angry to be helping us . With 4 tables we asked to split checks whether per table or per party we were told no . They eventually sent up another server with green streaked hair who was a breath of fresh air, smiled, accommodating, nice , pleasant etc. our food came out in different times some people didn’t get there food until after some were already finished there’s , the bill was a mess and although some requested soup with there dinners they never did the up charge but charged separate for an increased price. There is food and drinks we didn’t order on the bill . The bill was 880 dollars with gratuity included which is fine but with 22 people it b came quite confusing trying to determine who pays what . We entered at 5:30 and never left until 8:00pm and not because we had a blast but because it took that amount of time to get food and drinks . The food was not very tasty including bland chicken parm, chicken Alfredo sauce that wasn’t very tasty , French onion soup that tasted like soap along with very flat soda and other items. Some individuals did not receive their salads to their entree. Just a very bad experience all around . I wouldn’t recommend for large parties at all

Twice now were there and the bar tender was a complete jerk. They book parties foe the dinning room and then don’t have any tables for regular customers. Poorly managed.

This is the second time we went there one was a Saturday they’re supposed to open for the public at four but they had a party that ran late so they couldn’t see this. They were still cleaning up at 4:30. Went there today, Sunday they’re not closed until four or 5 o’clock which to me indicates are not having a party. We went there. They were having a party in to see this bartender one of us to sit by the bar or a hot table and a senior citizen I don’t need to fall and get hurt. He was very ticked off that we left. Food is good. The waitresses are wonderful if they’re going to have parties on Sunday, then they should start their dinners to the public at four or 5 o’clock. Don’t have people drive there believing they’re open because the website says they are.
