You got to love those chicken tenders that comes from Chicken Express. I also love the gizzards but they have. The chicken tenders are always fresh in the pieces of chicken are very large. You won't be disappointed if you're looking for some fried chicken

Great food - great service - really nice staff. It's typical Chicken Express food - but honestly the staff here is probably the nicest of most any Chicken Express we've ever visited. Kudos to the management here for instilling that "excellence" in customer service to their staff.

I live in Florida and the first place I stop every time I’m in Granbury is Chicken express! The best ever and love the people!

Love, love, love their chicken tenders! Homemade biscuits or rolls are always great! Tea is fresh and delicious. You can also buy it by the gallon. Fast, friendly service.

The Granbury location is by far my favorite and I’ve been to several locations in and around Fort Worth and Weatherford. They offer the 10 piece dark special and are so quick. There’s only been 1 time they didn’t have thighs and they offered to give me other items as a substitute but I informed them I’d come back in 15 so they could finish the thighs in the fryer. They’re awesome and even gave me a free sofa for the wait.

I like the food, and according to people I've known that have worked there the ownership is good to work for/likes to give back to the community.

Today has been a heck of a day, and walking in to smiles and friendliness has been so refreshing. The food was hot and fresh, and everything is clean… but the smiles and friendliness were the best part! Thank you. Seriously.

The wings were good but if you claim you have “mint” flavored toothpicks and I grab a handful and every single one I bite in to chasing that sweet mint taste on my tongue and I don’t even taste a hint of mint then don’t label them mint flavored toothpicks that’s it praise Jesus and free Bobby Shmurda

I had posted a review previously & it was not good but after speaking with Johnathan I honestly believe the issues were handled ; not to say mistakes won’t be made in the future ; & despite what happened we will continue to dine here. I strongly recommend you speak to with Johnathan if you’ve had a bad experience there before boycotting the establishment, I’m sure he will do everything he can to make it right & keep you as a patron.

Very disappointed 😞 I ordered almost $70 worth of food last night to find out when I got home that the gravy was water basically and the food was sorta cold. I got the family size tenders and 3 family sides and a gallon of sweet tea. The tea was the ONLY good thing out if the whole order. I know I placed my order late is why I called it in but it's almost 45 nins till close there is no reason why my food should be all over the bags the lids were not even put on correct. Lucky the bags are thick and it didn't spill or leak over my car very disappointed in this place.

03-21-25 Service was outsranding. I asked of they had grilled fish and they said no! However Chicken Express offered to bake the fish for 8 min. Lightly coated with their ingredients. It was very delicious and fat free. Absolutley a Blue Ribbon winner. Doing what a customer asked for. It does not get any better then that! I dined in.

Usually very fast service with their unique drive through set up, haven't had any problems with food orders from this location. But as long as it's run by humans there will be mistakes sometimes, just like any fast food place. So far I haven't had any. food is warm and tea is sweet, couldn't get better than that.

Love our Chicken Express. The staff is great and friendly food is outstanding. I think they have the best catfish and coleslaw in town. Also love the new spicy tenders. Most importantly they have given back to our community for years!!! This is very important in my book.

This is a regular stop for me and my girlfriend. I require fried okra to be well done and extra crispy. They never disappoint. Nowhere else in Hood County can I get it done the way I like.

Update 1/10/23: Felt the need to update my review for Chicken Express. I went through the drive thru window about 7:30pm on 1/9 and ordered a tenders dinner with sides and extra small sides. After I paid and got to the window, the young gentleman named off all of my order. Then I specifically asked if each of the extra sides were in my sack and he said... Yes!! I didn't doubt him because they usually always are at this place. So I get home and go in. Take out the order and the specific side (stuffed cheddar peppers) were NOT in there!! They were the only item that I had got for someone else. So I needed them! When I called back, the girl that answered was not helpful or apologetic! She said I could come back and get what they left out of my order. I told her my order would be cold by then. She said they could put a $5 credit under my name for another time. I asked to talk to a mgr. She basically told me the same thing as the other girl. I asked her if they would replace my order if I bring this one back so my food wouldn't be cold when I got to eat it. She said...No! I was shocked because the other mgrs have been happy to do this in the past if there was ever an issue which was not often but it has. So I finally asked if she would upgrade my individual side of poppers to a Family Popper's if I have to come back and she agreed to do this. Neither the first girl or the other girl that answered when I asked for the manager ever apologized! This was the most negative customer service that I have ever received from Chicken Express. Their chicken tenders were not as fat and juicy as they usually are. They were skinny and over cooked. Love their hot tenders! We eat here often, especially if any of my family is over. I live close and the smell is so tempting!! The service is awesome. When the place is busy, the manager has all hands on deck getting the customers served. They even come outside to get your order or to bring you your food. The food is always great!! Love their sweet tea too!

2 of us Wanted fish plate. Only 2 fillets left, fresh 10 minutes. Husband choose tenders, I choose the 2 fillets left. The plate arrived not even warm. I took back, I was told fresh was ready, but other 3 family member finished eating b4 3 very large fillets arrived. Appreciate the fresh but 3 fillets that large would be 3 meals for me. The man checked on me but as stated my family was finished eating by the time I received the fresh. I told him he could throw away for me. 5 stars because they refunded the fish plate. I rarely eat fried food but if I choose too again I will go back here. They care about customers!!!

Of all the Chicken E's this location, so far, has been the only one with fresh and right out of the fryer chicken at any time I order. I don't have to worry about them getting my order right other than whenever I ask for any dipping sauces those typically do not make it in the bag, other than that no issues and would recommend.

Service was excellent, and very clean. Something you don't see very often at a fast food chain.. Food was good.

Very disappointed. I got the family meal and it was just thrown in bag. Leaked all over the back seat of my car. I understand at the end of the day everyone is tired but that's no excuse for this. I didn't get my corn nuggets or gallon of tea and the chicken was short and not even hot. Very disappointed. Chicken Express has been family favorite since I can remember. I spent $80 and got a meal we couldn't even eat. The rolls were the only good thing out of the whole order. Update. Jonathan has corrected the error and was very helpful and gave me a generous credit for later use. Very please. Thank you

This Chicken Express did such a great job getting all of our meals ready for our field trip to Granbury, TX! We took the campers here after our tour of Fossil Rim which is close by this location. The staff assisted in passing out the meals for the kids and putting ice in all of their cups. The meals were ready upon our arrival, and the staff was friendly and attentive. The kids loved eating at Chicken Express, and it was one of their favorite meals of Camp BLUE. They also gave our group a 10% discount. Thank you, Chicken Express staff!!

Dude, this place has awesome sweet tea and you can even get it to go! When we first moved to Granbury from Austin we thought we had died and gone to heaven thanks to Chicken E! I'm especially a fan of the livers and gizzards with corn nuggets and a biscuit. Easily the best chicken joint in Granbury but my pancreas prevents me from eating here as much as I'd like. :(

First time finally trying Chicken Express. The drive-thru line was kinda long. I was happy to see that they also had a couple, young, men with portable, ordering, pads out at the line of cars taking orders to keep things moving along. I ordered a 3- piece combo with corn on the cob and a roll. I can say that the roll was really tasty and the chicken was fairly crispy. I love "Kentucky Fried" extra, crispy chicken and this was ok. There aren't all kinds of different spices in their batter. At least it didn't taste like it. I felt that what I got for what I paid was wonderful! Their prices are really good! They aren't my very, first choice on flavor for fried chicken, but I will definitely be back! It's nice to be able to have a few, different things to choose from for your sides. Good job Chicken Express!!

When the nursing homes open their doors to let the residents feel some fresh air. They all decend upon the local chicken E. The livers and gizzards quickly sell out and the abundance of sweet tea runs dry. Although their social security checks won't get as much dark meat and a biscuit as it did back in 2001, they all seem to leave satisfied.

I was disappointed with the food on this visit. The chicken and mashed potatoes were room temperature, the okra barely warm. Always good service.

Price is high and small amount. Flavor good... Just wanted to say I appreciate your response. I will remind them of the situation if I come up short again. Thank you again.

Well... typically I have no complaints but today is different. I got mashed taters instead of the golden crunchy ooey gooey corn nuggets that I ordered. 😥

The chicken was pretty good. The gravy was watered down bad. I will never get the fish again it was way over cooked and taste like chicken. You should never fry your fish in the same grease as chicken. I managed a kitchen in seafood restaurant in Mississippi and we always fried fish in separate cooker than all other fried foods

The food was good, cooked correctly. Cole slaw was good. The only real problems was the dining room was dirty. No one was in it and almost all the tables were dirty. The drive through here is very busy but there's no excuse for dirty tables and floors.

Food was good but I ordered 12 pieces and when I got home their were only 10. Seems they miss something every time I go there. If you use their drive thru, always check your order before you leave!!!!

I looooove chicken express but the one here needs to not serve ice cold chicken. Cmon guys! I just went there today and my chicken was so cold I had to microwave it 👎🏼 I was not happy. I tried to fish for the first time, and I think that you can Express stick with chicken… It was really rubbery and fishy smelling and tasting… In the macaroni and cheese was so bland and dry like it had been there for days…

Food is fine but we learned to not go on Saturday afternoons. The fish and chicken was cold and the fish was like rubber. That was when I noticed the whole shelf under the warming lamps were crammed with fish and chicken they had already cooked From the taste and texture of our food, it had been under the lamps for quite awhile

LATEST UPDATE: Well, I'm sad to say I'm done with this Chicken Express location. Food was overcooked and too salty again. No roll. Just not worth wasting money again. UPDATE: I wanted to change my rating to reflect the excellent customer service i received as a result of my review. The owner replied and gave me a generous credit to use later on. I’m sure this was an isolated incident and not reflective on the usual quality of the food. I’ve never had a bad meal at Chicken Express until today. I ordered catfish dinner and the fish was so overcooked it was completely dried out inside. It was inedible. I’m sad because it is usually cooked perfectly.

They served us catfish that was cooked hours earlier and it was not only cold but tough as shoe leather Poor management. Never eat there again! Will be eating at Chicken Express in Benbrook from now on And will gladly wait 6-7 min for fresh cooked fish. As we left we saw a pile of catfish on a tray which means no one gets fresh cooked catfish in Granbury!

My daughter ordered lunch for my birthday party. The gravy was runny, and the corn tasted like field corn, not sweet corn on the cob. Why are the tenders so pale in color? They appear to not be fully cooked. The okra was superb and the mac and cheese was par. Somewhat a dissappointment.

Went through the drive thru a little after 9pm. Got a 20 piece family meal and two orders of family poppers. Family poppers are 9 each. Only got a total of 7 poppers. Ridiculous that someone who works there can't even count.

This has been my favorite chicken spot since I was a kid , no other place compares, however the last few times the customer service has been horrible. I felt rushed and like I was a huge inconvenience on them. Food was great.

Ordered 2 piece chicken combo and 3 piece combo fish. Very disappointed. Fish tasted like chicken and the chicken was so dry and stringy, the only good thing was the roll and coleslaw. What a waste of almost $24. Won’t be going back.

This location is trash. First they gave us burnt rolls which luckily I noticed before we left and they gave us new ones. But when we got home we noticed they gave us only 4 pc in a 7 pc meal and the fish in my meal was so old and tough. I got an order of fried pickles and they literally gave me 4 pickles. This is the 2nd time we had a bad experience here last time they gave my 5 year old spicy tenders instead of regular like we ordered and he cannot handle spice so he didn’t get to eat his chicken also the spicy tenders were very old. We live 15 mins away from the location so obviously we do not want to have to drive back. If you go here go inside and check every single item because if not you will definitely get ripped off and/or receive old food. Gave 2 stars instead of 1 because my fried okra was at least good.

Bought a big meal tonight for my family, go home find a cockroach in the box of fries!!! So I called the manager, he didn't want to make it right, didn't want to reimburse me for anything. He really didn't have much to say about it. I am really disgusted! I won't be going back!

I have been to a lot of chicken expresses and never I have I been to one with sides this small. I can understand a price increase but the sides are literally half the size they used to be.

We come here all the time, with few problems. Some missing/wrong items, it happens. In the past month my name was supposed to be in the book for a past mix up but it wasn't, no big deal but not cool. HOWEVER, today we came through for a family meal and spent $71. When we got to the window to request condiments the young lady told me they would be 25 cents each. I have never been charged for sauce in the past (including this Wednesday), and just spent a TON of money. Are you kidding me? Also, I was offered no reciept for my condiment purchase. We absolutely will not be back.

This is a sad excuse for a chicken place they where cheap with everything. It was burnt and my food was sitting in a big puddle of dry grease but the food was still hot. Meaning the container was dirty before use I’ve worked in kitchens a long time and real ones not this sad excuse for a job and that was just flat unacceptable anywhere you go. Worst chicken express I've ever been at. Liver and gizzards so tough you can't even chew them. This is 3rd time I've been there and every time can't eat them. You need to have the Sanger store teach you to cook.

Ordered a 12 piece liver got 10 quarter size pieces. This has become a consistent occurrence. Guess I'll be getting my chicken elsewhere.

First time visit. We walk in greeted, nice place we look at the menu board, he telles me to look at the girl picking her nose on the food line! Yup, like entire thumbnail in her nose. I calmly told the cashier we will not be eating here. I told him why. He laughs, I by then am very mad and hungry but grossed out. I go to the restroom to wash my hands and to pull myself together. I come out to leave however I hear people laughing..There is about 3 people around her and they're all laughing. I hit the roof! I said, "it's very funny that she's picking her nose and picking her eye boggers, then making food!! You need to wash your hands and wear gloves!" As We are walking out the door the lady taking orders outside asked what was wrong. I told her. She was grossed out the same. We left. I'm done!

Started out ordering girl at counter was just rude. Dr. Pepper was coming out just carbonation when wife said something the girl at counter snapped at her. Then when they brung us our food the chiken and gizards were cold no warmth. Took back to counter was told they dont do refunds and they wasnt going to cook the order fresh. They said the gizards had been cooked earlier in the day and had been sitting there a while. Was told they wasnt going to cook fresh gizards. The girl did not want to refund the money. She was rude the entire time. She didnt even bother getting a manger she just kept being rude.

Well, this used to be the best place to eat chicken. We got some lunch today. The chicken taste like it had been out for a while and refried. It was very crispy and hard. The Fry's were definitely old and refried. They were cold and soggy. My roll was hard couldn't eat it. The only thing that was fresh on my order was the gravy. It's sad that are $40 meal's wasn't even fresh at all. What a waste of money!!

Been visiting this store for 20 years. Never again. Instead of the fresh fish we asked for, we were served filets that were re-fried and severely over cooked. Since we had to wait for fresh fish which we did with absolutely no problem, we were shocked by what we were served. Our sides were ice cold and soggy! When you have to wait you expect fresh everything. Well you have lost long standing customers of 20 years. Very disappointed, what a shame we spent a lot of money over the years, there was more than enough staff. Your store just has no pride and we will tell friends and neighbors alike to avoid your store in the future

I'm in disbelief that a restaurant can screw up the most basic combo on their menu. Ordered a #1 with fries, biscuit, and tea. They forgot my fries entirely and gave me a biscuit that might as well be a hockey puck. Oh, but don't worry, they remembered to give me ketchup for the fries I don't have. It's too late, I didn't find out until 30+ minutes later when I finally made it home. Can't trust anyone to do anything right these days.

Been supporting Chicken E for years. I'm done going here. Food has gone down hill. Today was the 3 visit of cold food. The french fries were shriveled up and dried out like they've been sitting under the heat lamp all afternoon. The chicken was tough, dry and stale obviously not fresh. Quality & taste has gone to hell in a handbasket! I'm done!

Everytime I go to Chicken Express in Granbury they mess up my order. The manager is kind he has given me credit before for mess up. Just left there 10-6-25 time 6pm - 615pm ordered 3 piece fish meal , family poppers, roll, drink... it was not busy at all but alot of kids working inside all gathered together. I get to window they gave my fish away to car ahead and it was funny to girl at window. I had to wait for new fish to be dropped and I made sure I looked in every box the roll was missing. I said at drive thru roll instead they put hush puppies. Don't the staff read the monitor that says drive thru and dine in? They need retraining they don't care about the job. I shouldn't have to call everytime food is missing or drive back. That many kids working the line need to pay attention to every order going out. They are costing you money and loss of customers. Granbury Chicken Express use to be badass... it's gone down hill due to today's teens that work fast food they don't care ...
