The dishes we ordered were very good; I highly recommend the Tarasca Soup. They took the interior design very seriously; the place is lovely. It's located across from what used to be the Sor Juana school, so it has a touch of visual nostalgia (for locals). Being on the main avenue, it will obviously be noisy, but it's truly worth it for the ambiance ✨ Located very close to downtown Tepeji del Río, it's an excellent option for tourists and a great way to experience our local cuisine. Of everything we tried, I only wouldn't recommend the horchata.

The flavor was good on my second visit. The enmoladas conquistadoras had hard tortillas and the chicken in the tinga was very tough; I think it was frozen. I also ordered chilaquiles with very tough steak.

The good and the bad... 🌟 The good: - Excellent location - Beautiful decor with pre-Hispanic motifs, clay, and corn husks (totomoxtle) - Variety on the menu - Bar service - Use of frosted pitchers - Nice touch that you can wash your hands upon arrival - Some dishes are well-seasoned - Friendly service - Spacious tables - Good music The bad: - High prices for poorly served dishes. You spend over $350 per person and you'll leave hungry. - The terrace is hot and noisy - Some dishes are savory, while others are bland (beans, mushroom sopes, etc.) - There are Mexican dishes, but their sauce boats are tiny and they serve less than half of the sauce. There are two sauces, but each sauce boat has the equivalent of a tablespoon. 🙄 - The flautas are 120 pesos, and they add a pittance of potatoes, no salsa. In other words, they're just fried tortillas. - The cantaritos are more than half ice, and very little drink. - If you order enchiladas or enmoladas, they save you money by giving you a roll of bread. - They save on refills, they save on salsas, they save on putting so much ice in the cantaritos, and to top it all off, they save on the bathroom light, since it has a motion sensor and turns off after 5 seconds, meaning you're completely in the dark. I hope they fix this soon, or they'll continue to have very few people.

I ordered enchiladas, but they use store-bought tortillas which really mask the flavor, and the salsa needs to be thicker, like a good, traditional spicy salsa. I hope they improve and take their slogan seriously.

Terrible service, they took over an hour to serve us, the dish we ordered included charro beans, which NEVER ARRIVED, and I also ordered tortillas, which NEVER ARRIVED EITHER. If you have the chance to go, don't miss it, it's awful!

Terrible experience. My girlfriend and I ordered a "brava burger" which was okay, not bad but not great either. I ordered a marinated pork shank. I waited almost an hour for it to arrive, and when it did, it looked awful (see photo). I decided to give it a chance and try it, and some pieces of meat were still frozen. This is not only unpleasant, it's dangerous, since meat must be properly thawed and cooked. I asked for my check and left. Horrible, I'm never going back.
