This restuarant was amazing. The atmosphere was very chill and western style. The food was awesome and the server was sooo much fun and make the service absolutely great. I ordered the shrimp and spicy chicken platter and it was delicious. My dad really enjoyed his birthday dinner. I will definitely be returning.
Love & War in Texas was such a cool find—felt like a lil Texas road trip on a plate. The wild boar was surprisingly tender and flavorful, and that chicken fried steak? Big, crispy, and hit every comfort food button. Margaritas were strong (maybe too strong lol) and only $5 during happy hour. The live music added such a fun vibe too, not too loud but def set the mood. Service was friendly, a bit slow when it got packed but nothing crazy. If you’re into big flavors and laid-back Texas charm, this spot delivers.
From time to time I will meet up with my dad to grab lunch here. Their chicken fried steak is delicious!! I love how the batter is so crispy and tastes so fresh. The gravy is spot on and is making my mouth water just thinking about it. I love their fried okra! It has the right amount of spices to keep you wanting to eat more! The prices are just right! The wait staff is awesome as even during the lunch rush my ice tea never goes empty for to long Great place to eat if you are looking for great Texas comfort food!!
My wife and I were raised in Texas but haven't lived there in a long time. Expats I guess you'd call us. Being in Plano for family Thanksgiving, we met some old friends for dinner our first night. It was Tuesday so there wasn't a band or that many diners, altho' the awesome bar was packed. None of our party is big on noise so not having a band was a blessing for us. We were greeted in warm Texas-style and our server was great. The menu is pretty extensive and features standards like big burgers, chicken-fried steak and gravy, baby back ribs, several cuts of steak, fish tacos, and some Tex-Mex. My wife and I had a large lunch, so we split wild boar quesadillas and a chicken-fried chicken salad with smoky ranch. We got full enough that we had to skip the tempting desserts. The meal was excellent and bountiful. Decent selection of beers, mostly non-craft but I did enjoy a Lakewood Temptress, a local milk stout that is almost as good as Colorado's Left Hand Nitro. Good place, we'd definitely go back.
We have been to this place many times, and every time they exceeded my expectations. My personal favorites are the Hot Wings and the Meatloaf. The service here is amazing. They deliver the food to my table quickly and they are very kind. I would recommend this place for you and your family.
Arrived Dec 26 to meet a small group. Good food, Nice atmosphere, Friendly staff .
I haven't been here in years, but came to see Big Joe Walker perform & had a blast!!! Didn't get a pic of all the food we had, but it was delish!! The TX-shaped Cornbread with Sweet Butter is a staple. IYKYK!!! 😋 Great customer service from start to finish. Loved our server, Jackson. I gotta start coming back here for lunch!
I wanted an authentic big house for dinner so we went to a restaurant this restaurant "Love and War in Texas" and I ordered ribs...yes I ate ribs in public and even wore BBQ sauce all over my face but let me tell you...it was well worth it...those ribs were finger likin good! Look at all the meat on those ribs and I believe they were under $20...you get that quote now..."Everything is BIG in Texas" I would highly recommend this place to eat!
The food was amazing! We got the fried pickles. A little spicy, but still tasty. I didn’t like the first meal that I got, so they took it back and got me something different with no issues. The ribs are a must have. 20$ for a full rack of baby back ribs. We will DEFINITELY be back!! We wanted to see about dessert but I couldn’t even attempt it lol.
We were on a very long road trip and we Googled restaurants in the area. I wanted a steak really badly, and this one seemed to be the most interesting one of the five we saw on online. We walked in and we shocked at how old the place was and how COOL it looked! It was like a saloon had a baby with a hunting lodge, and this was their baby. We asked our server for any suggestions and we followed her advice. We were SO happy we did! Great steak! Potatoes were amazing, mashed and fried! Cornbread! Good stuff! We highly recommend this place and MAKE SURE you ask for JANE! (Jane Teresa S.) She was simply the best! Thank you for hiring her!!!
I love this place! Great food and huge....HUGE portions!!! They have changed ownership and have revamped the menu to include some really tasty items like the onion rings. Beers are huge (look at my photo)!!! This establishment also gets some good Texas country acts on their stage. If that's your thing, check their website for more info and dates. Come check this place out!!!
Great food, good service, and good music. The location is neat and the decorations make the experience feel even nicer. The menu has a wide variety of options and they manage to exceed expectations in all categories. The ribs I ordered were pretty great and the sides were spot on. Update: Have been back here a few times. Absolutely great place. I strongly recommend the meatloaf, It's fantastic!
We had an amazing time performing here. Although it's not known for its rock scene, I feel we gave it a great starting point. All the bands brought their "A" game. There were several groups that came to eat, so I could understand the servers being swamped. The wild boar quesadillas were flavorful and smokey. I was really surprised I enjoyed the fried green beans and dipping sauce as much as I did. The flatulas sampler was crispy and tasty. All in all, I can see a rock night taking off here. The stage held 4 bands comfortably. The PA was good, as was the lights. Lots of free parking (we had 2 tour buses with trailers) and awesome staff. Can't wait to come back! MESSER APPROVED!
Delicious Ribeye!! So glad we ate here. Our server Jane was fantastic. I've had ribeye everywhere and this hands down took the top place. The baked potato was perfect, not over done. My husband enjoyed the ribs. Very meaty and charred on the ends. You will have leftovers if you order the full rack. Keep up the good work. We will be back very soon.
Stopped in here to have dinner at the bar. Shelly was amazing. The brisket was delicious, and I pretty sure the baked potato was the best potato I've ever had!
My first time to Texas and this place really brought the hospitality! My buddy had told me that the people were kind down here but this place was out of the park amazing for service. We came in a little late the night before and they were just closing up but the manager "Nick" told us to come by the next day and he would show us the ropes of the place. So the next day we eagerly headed over there after work. Which is what we were in town for. And so we sit down and Nick comes out and gives us a free entree for showing up! Hes already awesome in my book but then I'm flabbergasted at this wild boar quesadilla! And then the steak and the drinks! 🤪🙃😀 All just amazing!!! Haven't had a steak🥩 that good in a long time and they got it perfectly how I wanted it. Not to mention the server and the bartender were spot on there game and on top of every drink request 🍷🍸🍹and empty plate🍽. In all an absolutely unforgettable place I'd be happy to revisit. And I hear they have live music and famous people from time to time.
Really great service. We placed a to go order, and once we arrived home, we realized an entree was missing. We called the restaurant to inform them and got the missing entree delivered to us. Excellent customer service.
This restaurant is absolutely amazing the staff etc. Are so kind and on point, fast and quickly serve you, I do recommend this restaurant to anyone that really enjoys Texas foods 🤠 and Amazing Margaritas ect.🍹as always every year on my birthday 🎂 I go to this restaurant and this year I went there again , it is still the best ever , I do recommend this East Plano Restaurant to anyone wanting real authentic Texas foods. I give this restaurant a. 5🌟 Star ✨✨✨. another satisfied Birthday year 2023.
The drinks were good, the atmosphere and music was good, the atmosphere was excellent. I tried the full rack of ribs, it was delicious just not as good as I expected it to be, maybe next time. Overall good experience, just nothing to say it is over the top. Still an excellent place to visit.
Good place to eat and enjoy some live music on a patio in crazy 2020. Food was surprisingly better than we expected. Hubby had a steak. It came out medium rare rather than the medium he ordered, but it was so good, according to him, that I really can't take stars off for that. I ate hubby's Caesar salad and it had a spicier version of the regular Caesar dressing, surprisingly very tasty. I had the Port a Portabella which is more of a crab cake on top of a grilled Portabella mushroom rather than a stuffed mushroom, and it was amazing! The sides were also very well prepared and fresh. The presentation on the plate was also way fancier than I expected at this restaurant. This was true of my hubby's plate as well. Service was friendly although not as attentive as we generally expect. Music was better than we expected considering that admission was free. Overall a good value and we are sure to return in the near future.
We tried Love and War last night and I was extremely impressed! If you like ribs this is your place!!! Ted was our server and the service was outstanding! The atmosphere is definitely Texas! The restaurant is in an old train station. I love to see businesses preserves history. This place is a hidden gem and we will definitely be back!
From the moment I stepped into Love & War in Texas, I was enveloped in genuine warmth and hospitality. I was greeted immediately and seated comfortably. My server, Jane, wasn't just friendly; she was exceptionally attentive. Following her recommendation, I tried the sliced brisket dinner with fries. The dish was not only flavorful but also generously portioned. I was pleasantly surprised when the manager, April, stopped by my table. Her journey from employee to manager speaks volumes about the establishment's culture and dedication. The ambiance felt genuinely Texan, making it an ideal spot whether you're dining solo or with a group. April mentioned they host live music on weekends – an exciting feature I plan to explore on my next visit. Love & War in Texas earns a solid 5 stars from me. I can't wait for my next visit! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Had a great dinner, NY strip (took half home), broccoli, loaded baked potato, fried okra Nd veggies (they did not skimp on butter). My wife got a bucket sized margarita for $5.00, this happy hour is great! Hannah took care of us, was there when we needed her, almost as soon as we thought we needed something, she was there. Nice atmosphere, great food.
We stopped in for lunch yesterday and we were not disappointed. The brisket sandwich was SOLID. I asked for some hot sauce and the manager, Jason, brought out some house made sauce that had me sweating. Food was great. Staff were cool. We actually returned for a late night bite and got the flautas. That kitchen comes correct on every dish. Would absolutely recommend
Ive been coming to this bar for about two years. I am always greeted with a smile and beer in hand. I can see they have lots of regular customers and they made me and my husband feel very welcome. The prices are very reasonable. They have two pool tables an a game area in the back. Friday and Saturday is kareoke. A great patio area for smoking. Shelly, Sam, megand and Lex are usuqoring when I come up on Saturdays and are very attentive. I love this place.
I had the seasonal Shiner and the shrimp tacos at the bar. The service was great and the tacos were delicious! Nice, laid back atmosphere while I was there around 5pm. I was told it would get much busier shortly!
So glad we decided to randomly eat here!! First off...THE CORN BREAD!!!! OMG we were so obsessed with how good it was!! We also got the diablitos (5 stuffed jalapeño peppers) served with i think it was like a smoked ranch flavored dressing (ADDICTING!) & we were not expecting them to be HUGE!! The 32oz Beer was also shocker for us also...ultimate win for the finance! The food was also amazing. I was torn between getting the brisket enchiladas but got the chicken kebab instead & man was it juicy & full of flavor!! Kisses to the chef!! We got there early so we missed the DJ & live music since we came with our 1 year old. But happy to say we had a great experience & we will be back!!
We had our staff Christmas Party lunch at Love & War in Texas, and it was absolutely amazing! -The service was fantastic — our waiters were engaging, attentive, and ensured we got in and out right on time. -We had the whole side wing to our shelves so we could talk and hear each other. -The food was delicious from start to finish, hitting all the right flavors and portions. -They worked perfectly within our budget without sacrificing quality or experience. Highly recommend this spot for groups, celebrations, or anyone looking for a fun and memorable dining experience!
I just had the best fajitas of my life! The meat (chicken and beef) was tender and very tasty. The rice is homemade from scratch and the beans were delicious! There was enough food for 2 people to share or you have lunch the next day! The drinks are strong and the staff is very nice! It was our first time here and I am already thinking about what I want when I go back. The restaurant is clean and we will definitely be back here! They have happy hour and live music as well! Try it you won’t be sorry!
Better than Texas Roadhouse. You heard me. Steve was an excellent server, and this place.. just amazing. Steak, potatos, apetizers- all of it. I don't like onion rings, but these were damn good. I ate about half the plate. And I know you wanna know about the steaks but jeez was that broccoli perfect. Soft, with texture. This place will convert the broc-haters. The steak? Cooked perfectly. Tender, juicy. Seasoned simply, and just right. Hubby has been coming here the last 20+ years, and he says he has never had an issue here, not once. No gristle in his steak, everything cooked perfectly. I can second this. Steve told us one of the managers picks out their steaks in person, and I can tell. It's just that good. If you want texmex, seafood, country comforts, or steak.. this is the place.
This is a great place for food and beverage. I went on a Saturday night to see live music. I first sat at the inside bar. Service was prompt, beer was COLD. The menu leans towards a steak house tex Mex vibe. There are lots of options. I had the enchiladas and they were AMAZING. LIVE music is there on a regular basis. The night we went Joe Walker performed, and he was also outstanding. The live music is semi outdoors, but is covered. My only complaint was the lack of service during the musical performance. Our table was full of dishes that were never removed. We had to go inside to get more beverages.
SUPER VIBE EXCELLENT SERVICE My wife and I had booked a table here in order to see the Lowdown Drifters. We had some friends with us. The establishment is real nice - has a good Texas vibe to it. There is a lot of interesting decor to watch. Make sure to walk around and see it all. The staff is great - from the host/hostesses, the DJ, the bouncers to the waiter. Real professional and attentive. A rowdy customer was handled very nicely by the bouncers - they showed understanding and kept calm. Our waiter was real good. Attentive and professional. And even though the place was full and he was busy, he managed to serve us all night. The menu is very fine with a nice selection of different dishes. As is the beverage menu. I had the cowboy steak - ordered it medium/rare and it was close. Served warm. Tasted real good. As did the refried beans and mashed potatoes I ordered as sides. The band was playing from the corner stage, and the music was not at all too loud which we had feared it would be. All in all we had an excellent time here and can recommend it to everyone who loves Texas and/or live music.
Fantastic food and fantastic service! We went at a slow time so very few people were there, but it was amazing. Steven, the bartender was our waiter and was very cordial and fun to talk to. Highly recommend him, if you're looking for a good steak at a fair price. This is the place to go. Haven't been when they have live music, but I bet you it is off the chain-wax!!( If you get the reference, you get five stars) I recommend it to anybody who wants good southern food and a good overall experience
Really good Texas / Tex-Mex style food. \nWarm service and cool interior. Chill place to go watch a game or for live music!
went today and the food was super fresh and delicious. i got the chicken fried steak and it was so good! our server was sidney and she was so attentive and fast. we'll definitely be coming back.
Great food, try the ribs on Sundays yum. Lots of atmosphere here TEXAS all the way. AND cowboy church on Sunday morning.

i'm ashamed to say I have never been to L&W before. Mostly because Plano is so effing gross, that I avoid it. But L&W is an exception. Great atmosphere. Great outdoor live music venue. And a re…
Everything was good, but barely seen the waiter. Ran out of drinks and other things. Had to get another waiter to find ours.
• visited this very unique restaurant, late at night with like a group of 20+ people & definitely recommend the habanero fish tacos!! i will say tho, i asked for no habanero sauce on my tacos!! even then, the seasoning on the fish… perhaps cayenne pepper or just the black pepper already added that spicy kick for me!!😂👏🏼🌮(the order comes with cilantro-lime rice which altogether made a great combo.) • the whole restaurant has very antique/old vintage decor, and the whole restaurant is designed with like a very rustic/wooden look. the walls & chairs & like pretty much everything is wood.😂👏🏼🐿 • i’m rating 4 stars because there was live music right across from where we were seated & it was a bit loud, we had to talk loudly at the table & at the waiters.😂and i did order fries, never got them. told the person bringing out our food & drinks about my fries…waited another 5 minutes never got them. asked for them again…😂😂still waited another 10 & well let’s just say i told 3 people working that night if my fries were ready they all said we’ll bring them right out, lol never did.🤙🏼the tacos where amazing so i’m not complaining!! but here i am wondering what happened to my fries!!🤓
Great food, great prices, and great service. I had the meatloaf with fried okra and garlic mashed potatoes, as well as a basket of corn bread. The potatoes were awesome, and while the meatloaf was a tiny bit dry, it was very tasty and a very good portion size. Will be back to try the chicken fried steak! Nicole was our server and she was awesome.
It’s a great place with good food and live music! This review is for the outside patio area. The chairs outside are not at all comfortable. If you’re there for several hours for a music show, it can be rough on an old body. There are a couple of servers that will take excellent care of you, but most of time, the service on the patio is slow and less than stellar. It’s also crowded on the patio. It can miserably hot or cold, depending on the weather. If you’re there for a show that starts early and ends late, you might experience hot and cold the same day. In February, it can be 85 in the day and 40 at night. Dress accordingly for Texas weather. The style is casual. No need to dress up.
Our server must've had a bad day or simply didn't like tourists, because he made us feel awkward by whistling in disapproval and commenting on the amount of food my son ordered. He's an athletic 5'11" teenager, looking much older than he is, and he ordered an appetizer and a main course. That's it. I had to confirm that we approve his order and ask if they had boxes to go, just in case. The food was alright. Nothing to write home about, other than large, generous portions. My plate was so, SO hot that it was splashing hot oil everywhere. The shrimp fajitas had a generous amount of shrimp and an even more generous amount of onions. Tons and tons of onions. Seems like a nice place if you are a regular customer and the prices are fair.
I am 100% city girl but tonight me and a few girlfriends went the country route! Our ventures took us to Love and War in Plano. The venue itself is rustic and screams country music! The entertainment lineup was good even if I don’t typically listen to country music. Ok, let’s be honest, I was rather impressed. I ordered the wings and they were damned near perfect. Shall I return for more? If country music is your thing, this is definitely a spot to check out. 🤠🤠🤠🤠🤠🤠🤠🤠🤠🤠🤠🤠
We came for the Hank Weaver Band on December 27, and that band was so great! Great intimate area to see your favorite band. Food is good, service was very lacking, needed more servers for sure on a Saturday night.
I love coming here for the Lonestar Low Carb. Brought my daughter her for the first time. She had the Panhandle. My chicken was a bit drier than normal. My daughter’s sirloin was the best she has ever had she said. The manager made it right on the chicken, so giving them 4 stars. It’s never been dry before so I will definitely order it again.
Whether for the food, drinks or live music...Love and War in Texas has been a staple of North Texas and the Texas music scene for decades. So many bands and artists have performed at Love and War in front of gracious crowds. One of my favorite shows was the Tommy Alverson and Ed Burleson Birthday Bash in 2023. Tommy, Jay Johnson, Ronny Spears and too many others have passed on but the music and memories remain. Pop in for a cold beverage and some live music sometime...you'll be glad you did.
It was Wednesday date night, and I had found this place on Google while we were running errands. We had been here before but didn't remember if it was thumbs up or not. The parking lot is big, and the setup outside screams, eat, and drink outside. We entered, and the restaurant was empty. You need to wait to be seated, and we were escorted to our booth. The restrooms are in the back of the building as you enter, and they are well kept. From the moment we met our server, she was awesome and pleasant. We arrived in time for the happy hour with appetizers and drinks, so we ordered the deep fried bacon and placed our order for ribs and enchiladas. The food arrived quickly, and the service was excellent. The bacon had a unique yet good taste. I recommend it. The ribs and okra were nothing out of the ordinary but good. The brisket enchiladas didn't go well as the mother of the cashew only ate the brisket due to the tortilla. The margarita was a pleasant addition to the experience. There were some issues with Happy Hour prices that were addressed. Sixty dollars for two was ok due to the customer service and company. I say try the place.

I had the ribeye steak with corn on the cob baked potato. Very nice environment was pretty good w/ the exception that the steak had a slight taste of fish flavor. Not a fan for seafood would have given it another star . The baked potato didn’t seem fresh along with the corn on the cob and for dessert I had a slice Bourbon pecan pie which was very delicious. I put into consideration that nowadays restaurants are struggling . Overall, I’d go back for seconds maybe choose another item just for the benefit of doubt. On pic that was what was leftover from yesterday. Good place to try passing through for work training.👋
Went for a show, was able to reserve a great table. Show was about half full, but the service was not good. Waited at least 30 minutes before anyone came by for drink orders. Waitress was sweet and apologetic. I am not sure what the issue was, if she was new or short staffed. I had fish tacos which were edible but not very tasty.
9-13-2025 Not our first time here but may be our last. How do you only have. 2 bartenders, 1 is new on a very busy Saturday night and not enough servers? Just poor on part of the owners. We came to see the band and love the patio, but it really dampened the experience when you have to wait on drinks and food.
Food was OK. Everything was basic and nothing too special. paid $48 for 2 meals and tip. We had some left overs so portions are big but we noticed that all entrees only come with 1 small side when we saw 2 sides on all the pics in the reviews and yet prices are higher too. Their chilli was wayyyyy too salty sonwe had to send it back. Probably wont come back but their Texas shaped corn bread was cute. I do food reviews on IG & Tiktok: →→→ The.Azn.Foodie
I order the steak and shrimp. The shrimp was excellent. The steak was almost pure gristle. It was really bad cut of meat. The chips and salsa were not much better. The salsa was great, but the chips tasted like they were cooked in very old oil. Not goid at all. Also, my fried okra look kike several pieces had dog or human hair on them. I didn't eat 6 pieces. Eric, my waiter, was awesome. High kudos to him. Atmosphere was also nice.

I was so sad - we went to a concert there the other night and couldn't hear the bands words at all! They have changed the setup / insulation / walls of their music venue and you just can't hear. We had a 4th row table and were very dissapointed.
I appreciate them bringing music to Plano! I want them to thrive! The food here struggles to mediocre! Maybe do a smaller menu but do it well! The brisket quesadillas tasted like boiled meat with too much liquid smoke added. No sides. Last time i visited here I choked on the tough, fatty brisket! Reviewing based on multiple visits to be fair! The chicken fried steak was edible, unremarkable. The seating on the bar stools is the worst ever, so uncomfortable! This seems like an easy fix! We were over charged for two beers, easy to remember when you order one Shiner! They had a lot of staff - not necessarily efficient! Love the concept and wish them well! Up your game!
My husband and I went right before dinner time. Maybe it's better when there is music playing, but the food was mediocre. The service was awful. Our server was rude. It's not as great as you think.
Been coming to this establishment for over 15 years and the food and service was always top notch with the original ownership. The level of service by the staff has always been consistently top notch, but it seems that with every ownership change the quality of the food served has dropped.
Underflavored and Overpriced. We had our anniversary dinner here and wish we would have gone somewhere else. The good: The wild boar quesadillas were absolutely fantastic. Lots of meat and cooked with fresh ingredients! The perfect amount of cheese. Our waitress was nice. The bad: Both our Dr Peppers tasted pretty flat. The sides (mac and cheese & cesar salad) were acceptable, nothing special. There were a LOT of employees walking around in the emptyness of the seating area (we were the only ones there in that part of the restaurant.) Some enployees would stop across the room and just stare at us eating. When we left, the manager just watched us leave and said nothing. (Assuming he was a manager bc he was dressed differently and was bouncing around differently parts of the place.) The ugly: We ordered their most expensive steaks (the cowboy ribeye) and while it was pretty on the plate, both were VERY cheap cuts. Chewy and lacking juiciness. Mine was served RED. I tried a bite and sent it back. (I ordered it medium-rare) and was more red than my wife's (she ordered hers rare.) It helped the texture a little but not the flavor. (I did try a bite before I sent it back.) The steak was well peppered but lacked salt. It had a decent hint of smokiness but really was just trying to cover the cheap quality of the steak. I'd expect this from a Texas Roadhouse but not from a boutique steakhouse like this. The blackeyed peas served as a side were TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE and were not on the menu. The steak was also served with a cup of sauce and was disgusting. With SO MANY better options in DFW...we probably won't be back.
The cowgirl steak was very undercooked, thin, and cold. It was full of gristle. The baked potato was greasy and cold. The wait staff was great. The food was awful and too expensive for the cheap cuts of meat.
Beware of the event ticket deception. You can buy a table for 4 or you can buy general admission single tickets. When purchasing single tickets, they don't tell you that you can only stand during a concert; no seats available. The tickets aren't refundable. I got screwed out of $72. I won't be going back to this unscrupulous place again.
Hello, I hope you’re doing well. I wanted to bring something to your attention regarding my recent visit to Law & Love. We were celebrating my mom’s birthday, and everything during dinner with Erik was excellent. However, when I went to order our first drink from the bartender, Shelby, her attitude was extremely rude and disrespectful. It was clear she was ready to go home, but no guest deserves to be treated that way—especially after spending hundreds of dollars at your restaurant. This happened right before her shift ended. I understand everyone has tough days, but if a staff member is unhappy or not willing to provide basic courtesy, it may be worth evaluating whether this is the right role for them. Guests should always feel welcomed and respected. I wanted to make you aware of the situation so it can be addressed. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I appreciate your attention to the matter. Best regards -Ana
This is a bar that tries to pass itself off as a restaurant. How do you mess up a steak? Asked for medium and there was zero pink throughout the 16oz ribeye I ordered. The waitress was friendly and offered to replace it....yeah no thanks. 38 bucks for steak and two sides. Not sure where they get their beef but it's probably a Choice cut. I hesitate to go out and spend cash on a steak these days because of crap like this.

Don't go to a concert at Love and War if you want to hear the music. People think it's a party place. It's not! It's a music venue!! Also a restaurant. Food is OK.
We went for my Husband's birthday and waited a bit before being greeted. We were sat near a large party with a screaming child running around in a nearly empty restaurant with exception to the bar …
Came to see Two Tons of Steel who were awesome, but the service we received was comically bad. After paying our entrance fee, we waited for 20 minutes for a server to come to our table. Finally, ha…
Got seated immediately, unfortunately took 30 minutes to have anyone come by and take our drink order while there were only 3 tables in the whole restaurant that were occupied. When our food finally came it was the toughest steak I have ever had in my life. The shrimp was over cooked and dry. The flavors werent bad but the food quality was not there.
Came in last night, sat at the bar, and was completely ignored by the bartenders. Sat there for almost 10 minutes and no one asked for my drink order or even acknowledged my presence. There were only four other people at the barand they already had drinks. I just walked out.
We attended the Max Stalling concert last night. I booked the show way in advance and the only option for two tickets is seating at the bar. All of the tables are sold in groups of 4 tickets. The bar seating turned out to be a disaster. Bar seating had several problems. First, the venue is L-shaped. On the side where the bar is, the band was barely audible. Maybe L&W had some audio problems this night or maybe some speakers were not working, but we could barely hear a thing. The other problem is the bar seats closest to the stage are on the service entrance to the bar and there was no room for the employees to get in and out of the bar. Every 30 seconds we would get bumped or have to move for someone going by. So there were always people blocking our view of the show. We ended up leaving the show after just a few songs. The bar seating should come with an advisory that you can’t see the stage or hear the performers. They did not provide this information so I am putting it in this review. I’m sure L&W is a great place otherwise, but I would advise against buying bar tickets for a show.
The meat inside of my chicken fried steak slid from between the crust like the glove on OJs hand. No cap! The worst meal ever!
If you are going to a show here DO NOT purchase a table. It's over priced and they let the people who bought the the cheap tickets stand in front of your table. Buy the cheap tickets and stand up front if you want to see the show. Probably the stupidest thing I've ever heard of charging someone for a table and then letting people stand in front of you so you can't see. DO NOT PURCHASE A TABLE YOU WILL BE SORRY YOU DID. NEVER AGAIN!!!!
It took 30 minutes to get our drinks. 45 minutes to get our appetizer and another 30 to get our entrees. The owner finally realized this and got onto our server for being slow. The food was sub-par everything was cold when it made it to the table. The stuffed jalapeños were the only thing that was decent. I got the cowboy. It was one of the toughest steaks I have ever had in my life. The taste was good though.
Painfully slow. Came at non-peak time to avoid the crowds. The resteraunt was sparsely populated but incredibly slow service regardless. 45 minutes for 2 drinks to come out and 1 of the drinks was a simple glass of wine. Food all came out piecemeal with missing salads and wrong sides. 2nd round of drinks arrived as we were paying the tab 2 hours after arriving. Waitress was apologetic but manager was a royal jerk. He offered no apologies, just an excuse that he only had 2 bartenders and the patio was busy. Not my problem. He should have anticipated the crowd on Mother's Day and staffed better or not offered to seat people inside where they showed zero respect to those patrons time and money. Thanks for ruining our Mother's Day meal Texas Love and War!!
Do not come here if you intend to eat. Waiters will refuse to take your order. Waitresses will refuse to take your order. If you stand on a chair and wave around your menu, nobody will come. When the table next to you tries to get somebody to take your order, they will not. Eat before you come to Love & War. There is no guarantee you will receive food service at Love & War - Plano. Edit: We learned that we were one of nine tables with no server. Yet the staff there said they can not do anything because it is not their table. Nothing but low skilled, lazy employees. Fire them all and start new.
The food was cold and the chicken fried steak so tough I couldn't cut it with a knife. No one even brought us water we had to ask for everything while the managers up front didn't seem to really care about customer service at all. The cup of corn was ridiculous, worst experience ever for the price!
We were in Plano to see my dad in the hospital and the waiter was so rude to us. He finally brought us drinks and then never returned to take our food order. I hope it was a fluke but he just didnt seem very friendly.
Came here for Valentine’s Day with family. First time and we were all highly disappointed with our food, especially the steaks. Our table ordered a 22 oz Ribeye and it came out sliced already with the fixings, but it was not good at all. A lot of gristle and fat, hardly any meat. The left overs which was the majority of the steak was taken home for the dog. We also ordered the cowgirl ribeye and it was the same. Lots of gristle and fat, it was ordered medium rare and came out rare. More left overs for the dog. The country fried steak, don’t get it. The other issue were the steaks knifes we asked for, they were DULL, no good for cutting into the “steaks”. I will say that our server was awesome. We won’t be going back, not worth it.
This place is trash just like the manager and bartender. Nobody answers the phone and when they do you get hung up on. What kind of customer service is that? I then ask for the girls name that hung up on me and she says shes not giving me her name. So I ask for the manager. After waiting 20 MINUTES I finally get Brittany who says shes the manager. When I tell her I just got hung up on twice she says "OK well what are you calling about?". I thought this place had better service than this. Will never eat here again.
My father and I both went tonight to go see the Council Hill members playing and to try their food. It was already a lot of money for a table, $80 plus the 2 tickets we had purchased. Mind you, we live an hour away so it isn't an easy drive. We walked in, got our wrist bands and found our table. We had a waiter come by and take our drink order. This was around 7:06 pm. 20 minutes passes. No one came to our table. My father and I are thinking, okay it's busy we will give them some leniency. He goes out to where we got the wrist bands asking how to order food, he got told, that someone will come to us. So he came to sit back down. Then it becomes 30 minutes where we have no one coming to take our order. At this point we are pissed. The waiter had helped other tables, yet chose to ignore us. 40 minutes we're sitting there not even hungry at this point. My father starts waving the menu in the air hoping someone would come. Nope. Then he stood on the chair. Still nothing. A lady to the table next to us told us, she had to flag the waiter down so he'd come. Another waiter came to a table in front of us and my father asked "Hey. Can you take my order afterwards?" The guy nodded but walked away. At this point it's been almost 50 minutes. A lady is handing food 2 tables over when the people in front of us are asking to help MY table. The waitress said "it isn't my section" okay. I work in a restaurant I understand that. But there was no reason she couldn't have said to give her a second and she'll get our waiter. It had been an hour and we walked out. My father is getting a refund for the tickets. We never made a scene either, we sat there patiently for half an hour then started to try and get waiters/waitresses attention. I called the restaurant once I got home asking for our waiters name. The host said he wasn't sure if he could give it. And I told him that I work in a restaurant and yes he can. He went to get the manager and I asked for the waiters name. Just to then find out that no one was signed to not just my table, but NINE other tables. But those tables got their food taken and placed. Why couldn't we get our food taken? I explained that I also was a manager at one point, and that as a manager your responsibility is to ensure everything is ready and clear with all employees. Clearly, things were not ready and not clear with all employees. Since no one picked up the assigned tables they should have been physically assigned to whom was working. This was ridiculous. I’d give a 0 star for the “food” section if I could considering we couldn’t even try the food. Only positive thing I'd say is the fact the restaurant is clean.
