Brenda was off the hook awesome! Despite looking like they were short-staffed, she was really on top of her game. Was letting us and other tables updated on our orders, kept the refills coming without our having to ask, and brought extra napkins. Great attitude and very nice! Will be returning.

Joseph was our waiter this evening. He did an amazing job. Joseph kept us updated on our order status. The kitchen was having some problems by accidentally putting on the sauce I requested removed and removing the cheese I wanted left on. They quickly made me a new one with no sauce on it. After our food was brought Joseph made sure we had everything we needed. The missing cheese for my omelet, the missing chocolate chips and chocolate syrup for my husband's pancakes, some strawberry syrup for my daughter, and even cream cheese for my other daughter. Joseph checked in several times to make sure we were good and brought more glasses of water before we ran out without us needing to ask. All of our food was good. My husband said his omelet was the best he has ever had. My daughter said her onionrings were great.

Stopped in at about 9pm after a play. There were 4 of us. We all had breakfast' Everyone's eggs were cooked just right Scrambled, over hard, over medium all just like we liked. Excellent pancakes, crispy bacon and hash browns. The server was Brenda. She was amazing. Made sure everything was cooked to our orders. I got to my pancakes last and asked her if they had Sugar Free syrup, she said "yes, let me take your pancakes and warm them up". All in all a wonderful dining experience. We will be back for certain.

IHOP has a variety of yummy food, 🍔🍗🥗 however, I recommend ordering IHOP'S breakfast anytime of day 🥞🍳🥓🥛☕. Great location and great service!

This was my first visit to this IHOP in about a year. The service was excellent the waitress was a delight and food was served hot in a packed section. The food was awesome and prepared as ordered. So much better than the last time I was there. I thought I'd never return but after this visit I'll be back. If it is this good next time I'll change rating to 5 stars.

Great Service from the waiter until the end when another Staff Member rushed us to pay for our food before we were actually finished our meal. Then when I asked if there was a Military Discount I was told in a rude way by this staff member that because I ordered from the Happy Hour Menu I couldn't receive the Military Discount. Another location that is understaffed with frustrated, overworked & checked out employees. There was one server and one bus person. I'm not sure, but I suspected that the server was also cooking our food. We were a party of 4 (1 adult, 3 kids/teen) and sat down around 3pm (after school) ordered off the specials menu to not be complicated & didn't get out until 6pm because there was not enough staff to service us. There were 2 other tables mid service when we arrived. The prices were fair. The staff was not very friendly to start & we got ghosted after our food came... had to track down the bill. Then had to wait for her to come back so I could pay. I could see how tired they were. I left a generous tip because I felt bad for them. I hope management can figure it out though. Not expecting a 3 hour meal service when we were sat during off peak hours at a breakfast diner.

Stopped in for the House Scramble and was pleasantly surprised. The $7 value menu entree was good, filling 'basic' breakfast that didn't break the bank. Beyond the food, the service was excellent—attentive, fast, and friendly. Definitely a great spot for a reliable, affordable morning meal!

IHOP is classic! This location is right off the highway heading east from San Diego. There are so many options to satisfy any palette; whether you’re looking for sweet or savory food. You also have options between breakfast and lunch items not to mention a kids menus and a 55+ menu. This location seems a bit older and they mostly have booths. I think I saw only one table that was half booth half chairs so doesn’t really seem accessible for handicapped people. Otherwise we had a pleasant experience and enjoyed the food.

Stick to pancakes. I tried the classic burger w/bacon. Angus beef patty had good flavor but it's not enough to compete with burger places. Service was slow, refills on fries and tea took a long time. The place was pretty empty. Won't be going back anytime soon.

I ordered the chicken and waffles. The waffles were delicious but my chicken was very hard. 2 of the strips were lighter in color and very very hard like they were reheated, just very hard to bite a piece off. The other pieces were darker and juicer looking like they were fresh and I was able to take a bite with out feeling like I was biting into beef jerky. I gave 3 stars instead of 2 because the others in my table enjoyed their options. One was a breakfast sampler and the other 2 were lunch sandwiches.

The place is clean and the booths and tables are well arranged as to where you can have a moderate amount of privacy. We got there around 9 at night and there seemed to be only two waitresses for the whole restaurant, so it took a while to receive the menus and for our order to be placed. Our food took close to 40 minutes to arrive, but our server was very sorry for the delay since we pointed out that several other parties that had arrived after we did had received their orders already. Because of this, we received a discount on the check total. Food and coffee were great. I had the grilled chicken breast and I recommend it.

It's really the small annoyances that make this place dissapointing. This location has been the same for years... I can't say I expected it to be any different, I just knew it was there and my kids wanted ihop. They placed us at the very back although it was fairly empty that day and we heard clanking dishes and kitchen noises, so I scooted up one booth away from the kitchen. The orange juice was rancid. We sent it back and my older son was bummed but we just shared the apple juice because my little one never finishes anyway... my pancakes were burnt, but not so terrible as to make them do them over again, it's just the little things about this place that really add up. So I hope this helps anyone interested in this location, most ihop spots are great, family favorite. This one is just sub-par, so don't plan a family brunch at this one...

31 January 2025 Friday 11am We have been to this location a number of times and the service and food are usually an A. Today the food was way below average. I had the chicken strips and pancakes. My wife had the crispy fish and fries platter. What a mistake going here today. The chicken strips were over cooked. Fish was burnt beyond recognition and had a funky texture. Very disappointing. I'll keep it brief. We won't be going back any time soon.

It was a late dinner for my daughter's birthday, she sometimes has decision making issues but this was where she picked. So anyway the waitress came by twice and she wasn't ready when she finally was we had to wait till she was ready, we ordered 2 burgers and onion rings an extra side of mac n cheese and hubby a Philly cheese steak with fries so food comes minus the Mac looks great but wasn't started eating my burger was dry but grease was pouring out of it hers was just dry his was just dry no peppers and American cheese it looked like a dry old steak um... we had to ask for the mac n cheese then as we were eating a party of 7 came in I told my hubby I wanted to tell them to run as the food just wasn't good I took my burger apart ate the meat dipped in ketchup her burger we brought home for the dogs. The onion rings and fries were good tho. As we were leaving the party of 7 got up and walked out the waitress never came out to take there order.

Food is still good for the price. Unfortunately the service is blah, no personality, not even a smile. The waitress and hostess have the typical bored affect that seems to be the norm for their age. The atmosphere was not completely their fault as there was a screaming child that the mother couldn't soothe and they decided it was better to let the child scream instead of going outside.

It has been quite a while since we had been here, and unfortunately, probably will not return any time soon. We came during Sunday brunch timeframe, and there was a long line. Turns out the reason for the wait is due to only 1/10th if the tables were in use. Learned the manager send a lot of the servers home to save money. But also shortened the kitchen staff as well which mean another long wait once seated. I graded the service 1 star because of the management issue and certainly not a reflection on our server. He did the best he could under the circumstances.

I want to be very very careful in how I word this. My server was excellent. I could not ask for better. I ordered their steak tips or whatever they call them, and they were actually quite good, I would return for them. Their mashed potatoes were good too. They gave me Kraft Dinner macaroni and cheese, and the server had to agree. It was straight up craft macaroni and cheese. And I mentioned it and they did offer me another server of potatoes, but they did not do anything about that bill. I cannot believe that they are serving Kraft macaroni and cheese there. I am sure it's probably a franchiser probably worried about food costs, but I was absolutely shocked. I'm also absolutely shocked that after I call them out on it, all they could offer me was another thing of potatoes. I didn't feel comfortable asking for some sort of mitigation of my bill, but there you are. Do with this information as you like. Would I go back? Probably. It's one of the few places in and around Lemon Grove that's open late. I'll bring my own box of craft dinner though.

The food is passable. The pumpkin pancakes are actually pretty great, but my eggs were overcooked and the gravy may be from a package or can. For the price you could hit a locally owned spot and it would be much better. In the morning the service is pretty spotty. In my last visit I got more help from people who weren't my waiter than I did from him. For a long time it seemed like he left.

The restaurant was not busy. There were not many other customers in the late morning. The pancakes were barely warm. The bacon was raw, very undercooked. The fried eggs looked funky. The sausage tasted bad. I was disappointed in my meal. I did not like my food. I will not eat at this IHOP again.

My waffle was served on a dirty plate. The manager didn't even come over to address the issue or offer an explanation. The fried egg and bits of meat were under my waffle!!

PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR BANKING AFTER YOU TIP! We went in for lunch and our waitress was not very great. We had to keep getting up to ask for things we needed. We purposely tipped on the lower end and when we check our bank statements the waitress decided she would up her tip amount to 18%…. Absolutely ridiculous. We have no problem tipping for good service when it is given. But when you take forever just to bring us water, and we have to get up and ask other waitresses for stuff that’s not worthy of 18%.

At this location it was the worst ever to dine in. Me and my wife end up watching a fight between employees, to be exact in the kitchen. The yelling and punches and the threats between the chefs was so disturbing. And the manager did not even try to apologize or somehow compensate us for the tremendous anguish we had to experience the food was delayed for almost 50 minutes and on top of that food was cold by the time it reached our table. We will never go back to this IHOP at lemon grove. The location is right off highway 94 & 125 exit ramp.

Terrible service. Ordered curbside, called MULTIPLE TIMES and no one picked up the phone. Eventually had to walk in, which takes away the entire point of curbside pick up, and found my food had been ready and sitting on an empty table for at least 20 minutes. When I got my food, they seemed annoyed that I came in to pick it up. Food and waiting staff are very good. But I was there on 3/21/23 and the manager had no communication skills what so ever. She was rude to me when she could have easily dealt with a minor problem with a calmer attitude. I like IHOP but I won’t be going back to that one.

Forty minutes wait for a chicken sandwich that was missing all the condiments, the jalepenos, etc. They are severely understaffed, so unreasonable wait times and wrong orders can be expected. Not the staff's fault; it is absurd management even keeps the place open with the bare bones staff they have working there. Perhaps they ought to roll up their own sleeves. I've been coming to this IHOP for almost 15 years. In the last year or two they have lost staff that have not been replaced, and both service and food quality has taken a dive as a result. I will not be coming back.

I ordered online to be picked up at 11:05. I showed up at 11:05 and food was ready at 11:22. I work down the street and my luch is from 11:00-11:30. I didn't get to enjoy my food because I had to eat at my desk. They don't make your food until you get there. It shouldn't be like that since the food is been paid for when you arrive to pick it up.

You normally expect consistency in service and good quality food when you go to different Ihops. This was not the case here. We waited about a half an hour for food with no communication as to why. When we inquired why it took so long, we were told one of the chefs took a break and they were short staffed for a little while. It would be nice to know that in advance. The customers time is very valuable and should be treated as such. The food was definitely not as good as other Ihops. I ordered the steak tips and eggs and the steak did not taste good at all. I over heard the same waitress rudely addressing a few other guests nearby that were waiting a long time as well. The guests mentioned that they had other commitments shortly after and then waitress simply told them she was sorry and that they would have to wait. Those guests got up and left. I always enjoyed excellent customer service and prompt service coming to IHOP. Even if they are slow, they communicate in advance and respect your time. Here they do not. The food quality sucks. I will not come to this location again.

I went here because I received a$20 gift card for the holiday and I don't know how this restaurant is still in business. It was the worst food I've ever had . My waitress was fine the food was absolutely terrible. I wanted to complain but it really wasn't my waitress fault. I ordered a appetizer sampler platter and that was so gross every item was over cooked and so hard the condiments that came with the platter were literally frozen like dipping in to a slushy the chicken strips were so scouting hot that you would think the slushy marinara sauce would be a good thing but they were so hot that the slushy dipping sauce didn't help at all it's still burnt your mouth. Country fried let me just say don't try it. Jesse had the Colorado omelette and not sure what was in it the "meat" was closer to mop head strings as far as taste and consistency. It's was like a science experiment gone way bad. $50 and the fact that this is IHOP and the pancakes had so much baking soda in them I could have gone and buffed my car using those horrible pancakes cause there is no way I could swallow a bit cause they was so dry with butter and syrup and a water to chase it with the worst pancakes I mean sodium bicarbonate cakes . Half the order was on the table when asked if we wanted a box. Immediately Jesse and I said NO No Please just. The check. And then waited at the register for someone to come take my money for. 20-30 minutes. Yet I still tipped my waitress. I don't want anything for free I would be too scared to eat here again. Maybe fire the manager for allowing such horrible food to be served. This is a restaurant I payed $50 and left hungry yet sickened

The spoon was very bad.i ask server he said he did not do that and i ask the manager what she goin to do .she said sorry and never say anything never eat there anymore .......good luck to all make sure check aĺl before you start eating ......because manager will tell sorry...

The food and service was the worse I ever had at a IHop. The waiter was not friendly at all and had an attitude. What was disturbing was I asked for an extra piece of bread and for 2 slices were charged $4.49 this is ridiculous and price gouging. I could buy a loaf of bread, I even question this amount and did not respond.When I gave him my business card he kept looking at me when he was swiping like if it was not good. As a business owner who travels around the world, would not recommend this place to anyone. The lack of kindness and professionalism by this individual leaves a lot to say about this IHop restaurant.

It was the absolute worst food and service i believe i have ever had. It took almost 2 hours for two orders of cheese sticks and an order of bisquits and gravy with cinnamon dippers. There was one other table when we arrived and ordered.yet somehow the four new tables got the food to them before ours. Made no sence. I got tired of hearing the apology from our waitress every third time she passed our table with another its coming right up. This is the last place i will ever choose to eat at ever again .

I love going to ihop. This time was a little different. Our server wearing a mask , nothing wrong with that, but when you're sitting at the table zipping your coffee and you see your server blowing his nose and shoving paper towel up his nose then proceed to not wash his hands while standing in front of the sink is pretty much UNSANITARY. PLEASE WASH YOU'RE HANDS!

This ihop is terrible but it's the closest one to me and my mom likes ihop. Service is ALWAYS slow. Last time they had only 1 cook (waitress told me). During the week they only have 1 or 2 servers so service is again, slow. On the weekends it's packed and appears to be when they decide to schedule the entire team which is still not enough people. Slow to be sested, don't greet, slow to check people in. Today tlwe waited 5 minutes in the lobby, only people standing there. Until 2 parties came out to pay for there bill is when somebody headed to the front. The host walked us to our table but just put menus on the table and walked away straight into the kitchen without saying a word. This place sucks. The foods alright but that's about it. The area it's located in is also scary and shady.

The waiter and atmosphere were all great howerver I had to sit there and watch my whole family eat while I waited on my food. It was a simple order just a breakfast sandwich but I ended up waiting close to a hour for it.

92 bucks when it should've been no more than 60-70,,,besides i presented the 20% cupon for Dec and it was denied but the waitress was nice enough to give me 5% off...just don't be afraid to question the bill...and look at pricing before they take away the menues...

Completely ruined my order such a waste of time and money lady on the phone was not helpful She was more like sorry for you, incompetent people working here don’t come here. I ordered scrambled eggs with cheese to sausage and chocolate chip pancakes and did not get that completely got the opposite and wrong order.

After sitting in the car 20 mins my daughter had to walk in to get our food. She angrily comes back and says the food was just sitting there. My eggs were brown from overcooking, the sausage look like beef jerky and the pancakes were literally cold.

47 minutes after being seated, had to go ask for at least water to our table. The restaurant was not full and appeared to be fully staffed. 12 minutes later coffee and water arrived. We placed the order. 25 minutes later we get our food and they still forgot items. I asked for a discount on my $87 order and the manager stared me in the face and said $12 is all I can do for you because we are busy. I turned around to see almost half of the restaurant empty. Took the $12 discount and left with my family. Parties of people were seated, greeted, fed and left before we even got our food. No apology nothing but a fake smile and a $12 discount. IHOP is not that good to be acting like that. Poor service, mediocre food and poor management. Pick another IHOP if you really need pancakes.

This place has gone down hill, it’s Mother’s Day and you would think that they would be better staffed for a special day. We got here at 6:55 to beat the rush, walked in and there was only one worker there that didn’t acknowledge us, then 10 mins later another worker walked in and said she would be right with us. 10 minutes passed and she started to get the names, we were the 2nd ones on the list. She took the first party and got there drinks and then started cleaning tables that she didn’t even seat us at. She finally sat us, asked for our drinks and I asked her if we could put in our order and she said that someone would come and take it in 10mins. Then I heard her talking shit in Spanish to her coworker about us. I look white but I’m Hispanic and she probably thought I didn’t speak Spanish. So unprofessional. There was a hair on the table after she cleaned it, the only good thing was that the food did come out kind of fast.

Server Leticia N, NEEDS to work on her service. Just a straight attitude the entire time. After we were done eating we had to wait for about 10-15 mins just to see one server to get our check. Ended up just getting up and going to the front after another server across the restaurant decided to pop out. This place isn’t what it used to be.

The bathrooms were dirty. The waitress forgot an item i ordered. My mom asked for no bacon in her breakfast burrito and still found pieces of bacon. I haven't eaten there in 15 years, and my mom decided to let's give it a try since it was close to her house. Never again!

I was violated at this IHOP at today. Ordered unlimited pancakes and got my first order after that they quite literally ignored me for 30 minutes I even asked my server previously if she could grab them 10 minutes after we finished our meal. Left a zero tip which I’ve never done in my life even working in a restaurant. I’ve had better service talking to a wall than what my server offered.

The dirtiest and nastiest food you can possibly ever order. These people are disgusting and should not be in business I got my food served cold and tasted really old I would never recommend this place to anyone not even a homeless person sleeping on the street will eat this food. I am a fan of ihop but this location has made me promise to my self that I would never ever step foot into any ihop again a day in my life.

Waited for about 15 minutes ish or so and no one was at the host stand nor did anyone come to greet me even though two different servers saw me. I can imagine they’re understaffed and I know that’s not their fault but the managers of this specific establishment need to do better.

We waited 1hour and 48 minutes and didn’t got our food when question the server he laughed and said the cooks are slow so just wait another hour like bro that’s not funny we have a toddler thats been waiting with us because you keep saying our foods coming. Be weary of this place they will serve you old food I was served old pancakes at my table. The table behind sat down and five minutes later after putting in their order they received their food. I can understand busy but you would have expected the food to be fresh and not pre made. Also they told us they aren’t taking cash because their system was down but we handed them our cards and they still were able to charge us.

Went there today for brunch and it was a bit busy. We placed our drink and food order at the same time. As we were waiting we began to notice that tables that were seated after us already had there food. Our waiter didn't not check on us at all and when he did come back to the table it was with food that wasn't even ours, and yet again it was for a table that had been seated after us. After this we walked out as waiting 45 to 50 minutes for some pancakes is absurd! Don't bother wasting your time or money here.
