Hidden hideaway at the end of the Ralphs parking lot. Amazing heavenly pizza so much flavor, 1st visit here, friendly staff, recommend ordering before going takes approx, 20-30 min ish . Friendly reminder to ask for, napkins, paper plates, fork for salad, parmesan cheese and chili packages etc before u leave, in a paper bag because, as u walk away things go flying😉. Definly coming back

Always get the chinese chicken salad, so good. Pizza always yummy too. Chicken wings are a big hit with the kids, so are the mozzarella sticks.

Pizza is outstanding, personal favorite large Linebacker. Wings are baked, not fried and cooked to perfection. Beer is on tap and cold, what else is there?

This is a family-owned pizza place up in Rolling Hills andIt's better than Domino's Pizza Hut or any other pizza place the first bite I took I knew it was better! This pizza place has been there since I was a teenager and I'm 70 now.

I'm a little partial due to the nostalgia I have for the franchise from fond memories as a teenager when life seemed easy and the world a bit less frantic. But hey I gotta say, it was good back in 1985 and still is in 2019...wow

There is no better customer service than to be made to feel your patronage is appreciated. I ordered a meatball sandwich online for lunch this week. It was heavenly! You can't go inside but I pulled up and it was brought out to me by what may have been the owner. I was treated very kindly and made to feel my business was very appreciated. I had forgotten how good this place is. Getting another lunch from them tomorrow. Can't wait! Go get yourself a tasty meal from Lamppost. Let's make sure we don't lose this South Bay gem.

Great pizza, with loads, of toppings, big chicken wings, perfectly cooked! I give them 5 stars for the food. And 4 stars, for the dates decor! Still, great place for the family. And those who drink alcohol, they also have a small bar! And a few cool games for the kids. And tv screens!

G

We love the linebacker, our favorite, and the perfect game. Really tho what has kept us coming back for years is the perfect dough every time. Any topping would be great and we've probably tried them all. We typically order a salad with ranch and wings too. Always treated well and the service is quick and nice

Hands down - the BEST bbq chicken pizza we have ever tasted!! We ordered the small, which serves 8 people having a single slice. Excellent bbq sauce flavor for the base, chicken is tender and not over cooked, plenty of cheese and the dough is the perfect consistency. Tasty and not spicy, at all. Finally! Someone gets it! Spicy - does not equal tasty!! Thank you!! We also ordered a medium pizza, half plain cheese and half pepperoni, also excellent! The Caesar side salad - very fresh - was a generous portion that could easily feed two hungry adults. We also ordered the submarine sandwich and requested that it be heated up. One may also have the sub served cold. My husband is VERY picky about his subs and this one is a winner!! Excellent customer service. Highly recommend!

B

The food was great we ordered and did take out. The young girl white girl with shoulder length hair was very rude and talking very vulgar while customers were in the restaurant. Being in customer service I find this very trashy and unprofessional and it makes me really not want to come back do you too how this highschooler yelled at a customer and handed his pizza to him very forcefully. Other then that. Food was amazing. This was may 1,2022 around 830pm. People walked in and they wouldn’t serve them because they said they closed at 830. And it’s was 842 amd no where did we see a sign saying what time they closed

I haven't been to this Lamppost pizza in over 15 years. But we went in and got a pizza and it was the BEST PIZZA EVER!! I don't know what they're putting in but it is GOOD. We had the mushroom special with white sauce, When I paid for it I thought oh thats a more than I'm used to paying at Pappa Johns....Totally worth it!. try it.

I heard great reviews from people about their pizza. Today I tried it, small double cheese pepperoni... I will admit it was great tasting pizza. Best I have had in over a decade. Thank you. Staff was nice too.

Best pizza in PV. Not exactly the NY thin pizza, but the dough is just thick enough and not too greasy. Be ready to wait 30 min+ on the weekends for pick ups.

J

Best pizza in the South Bay area. Lampost never disappoints! Covid update as of 6/28. You can only eat outside (there are two tables), one customer allowed in at a time to order/pay, and then they take your order out to the car for pickup. We ate outside at one of the tables and the staff had masks and gloves on at all times.

The best fricken pizza anywhere. Lots of great memories with family coming here back in the 90s. Too bad there isn't one in Florida where I'm at. God bless the crew, always a great group of youngsters working there.

Our Lamppost Pizza in Torrance is the absolute best!!!! The last pizza we ordered was perfection in every way. We want to thank Lamppost and let them know we have been loyal customers since they first opened their store in the 1980’s. Thank you!!!!!!!

A classic staple of life in Torrance and PV. I can remember coming here way back in high school (though indoor dining was allowed then). Presently, they have outdoor tables with awnings over the rows. It's the perfect weather for eating outdoors nowadays, and summer nights will be quite fun. You can maybe even walk your pizza over to the park! Their large pizzas are pretty hefty. Don't expect to be able to polish off a whole pizza unless you have a few dedicated people. There was a bit of confusion over which sort of pepper would end up on my pizza (it was meant to be a pepperoni and pepperoncini), but in the end they came through.

Our kids are grown-up adults now with their own children. My wife and I stopped eating at Lamppost Pizza a long time ago. We have been only ordering to go for years now. We felt that although ordering to go the food was good, about 4 stars, we felt it was much better when eating inside at Lamppost. Although we really enjoyed the entire experience of loud kids running everywhere, while being chased by their friends and parents. It brought back wonderful memories of eating there with our children after soccer or baseball games. This type of atmosphere may not appeal to everyone, but for us it was 👍.

J

I really enjoy Lamppost pizza. It is some of the best pizza in the town and the way you have to wait tells you a lot about how much people like it. I always come back because it's always the best pizza. I like the sausage, pepperoni and mushrooms with pineapple on it. I share it with my friends and they tell me the same. It's great.

J
Jorge Castillo

Lamppost has been a part of my life since I was a kid. Since then I don’t think anything has changed, and that is the beauty of this place. It’s like Granny’s Donuts in San Pedro, both have been around for a long time and both still serve up the same delicious foods that we all enjoy from day one. LP may not be the greatest pizza in the world, but being consistently good at making pizza and wings for this long has its merits. When someone says, “I know a pizza spot”, it better be LP or nothing.

J
James Staats

If you got the dough, this is the place to go. lots of kids, families and all that, but great food. Pleasant employees, sports TV, safe kids zone, perfect place for families, after games gathering or simply a couple who enjoy a glass of wine or beer. I highly recommend this place.

Update Review: 12-17-2023 Another amazing night at Lamppost Pizza with my son and picking up large pizza and wings to go! The place was completely pack with people just having a great time. I use to go to lamppost pizza when I was young and my family lived in Torrance. The last time I got pizza here was in 2014 to support a fundraiser. I recently got a job in the area and decided to get pizza at lamppost. 🍕🍕🍕 The service at lamppost is excellent. Their pizzas are great. They taste very good. They gave me a discount because the crust on my pizza looked a little weird. The fact that the staff gave me a discount for a little mistake shows how much they care about their customers. I highly recommend getting pizzas from lamppost. I for sure will be returning to get lunch here when I am on lunch.

My husband and I have not been here since the late 80's, South High School years. A lot of good memories here hanging out with friends. One of his friends use to work here in high school. We decided to come here for dinner on Saturday 8/23/24 around 5pm. We were greeted right away by the young male cashier, ordered a pizza, antispasta salad and a pitcher of beer. The food was very good, fresh and we loved the salad all produce and meat was chopped evenly the large was perfect for 2 and the pizza was perfect and not greasy. Employees were all friendly, food was good BUT what happened to the music???? We were going to fall asleep it seemed like it was on 103.5/ the coast, the vibe here was so quiet not what we remember...... Can they play some upbeat 80's music??? That being said, we did some high school lamppost reminiscing while eating and drinking BUT the vibe was so blah there we did not get another pitcher. We just like more of an upbeat pizza place maybe if we went latter it might be more lively???? Thank You for the good food and service probably won't dine in again only take out

Really good pizza! The price is a bit higher though. That is the only reason I give it 4 instead of 5 stars. Still worth it and I’ll be back.

Very good pizza and awesome service, but get it to go unless you are at a team event. The decor is outdated. Very small coin operated section to suck quarters out of the kids. Dirty area, no real entertainment value. There is a bar back by the tables. Still worth it for the food and friendly service. Their chopped salad is good to.

A

Good for fun and above standard pizza. There's an arcade / games but surprisingly, the pizza is better than most. The ingredients are not your run-of-the-mill stuff, so that was a nice surprise. Expect the same kind of topping selection with higher quality.

Good pizza place. Great pizza. Been having pizza here for 20 years. Usually get a Olive and Pepperoni Pizza. Always bring my family here after riding the go carts the day after Christmas. When I eat here there is never a crowd but then it is usually a week day around noon.

D
Derek Kang

It's been a staple of Palos verdes! The pizza is delicious but we wait almost 40 minutes for our pizza. They have a pretty good variety of beers on tap, with $3 off pitchers during rams games and $2 off during NFL games. The pizza is a bit expensive but the quality is good.

r
r mills

Not cheap. But it is good. The brew selections are ok. I prefer some Asian brews they don't have. Kids on the arcade games forget their manners so it's a little noisy. All in all, it's not my first time there. I'll go back again. We go about once a year.

Great little local pizza place in Rolling Hills. It's frequented by families post juvenile sporting practices so expect lots of little legs scampering around with the occasional yelling and screaming. They have a 2 for 1 wine night on Wednesdays, but it's a house wine that's not very good. Sandwiches are great, pizza isn't bad either. Multiple TV's with sports games on (Rams, Kings, Chargers, Ducks, Clippers, Lakers, Dodgers, Angels, etc.)

I’ve had the Whole Nine Yards pizza, the large dinner salad with ranch dressing on the side, the Southwest chicken salad, and a create-your-own pizza with pepperoni, mushrooms, and green olives from here. Right now you can only get curbside takeout. Call ahead with your order, or you can just call from the parking lot. Someone will come out to your car to collect payment and deliver your food. Very convenient and also safe for social distancing, because no customers ever set foot inside the restaurant. The service is awesome and the food is delicious. Lamppost Pizza Torrance is an institution here!

Great spot with a relaxed vibe and friendly, attentive service. The food was a hit with the whole family—especially the pizza and wings—and the atmosphere makes it easy to enjoy your time there. With plenty of TVs, it’s a solid choice for watching sports, family get-togethers, or team gatherings. We had a couple of minor hiccups with takeout orders, but nothing that would stop us from returning. Overall, a comfortable place with good food and welcoming people.

The pizza is always good, and so is the salad. We sat outside because it was very crowded and extra noisy inside. I liked that we had that option. The server was very courteous and moved quickly when we asked if he could wipe down the table. We didn't have to wait long for our food even though the staff was very busy. The cashier was kind and friendly too.

Nice people, good food but for one large pepperoni pizza cost $27 which is very expensive in today’s market. Costco or Sam’s Club only cost $10 for a large pepperoni pizza or even Big Nick’s Pizza charge $16 for Extra Large Pizza. Price is too high for my pocket.

E
Erin Sinnokrak

Good pizza, excruciatingly slow service. 50 minutes from the time we ordered at the counter until the pizza hit our table, at a time when the restaurant was pretty empty at the front end of the dinner rush (6pm on a Saturday night). By all accounts of fellow patrons in the restaurant at the time, this isn't out of the ordinary. If the urge strikes to eat here again, I'll be sure to phone in my order in advance.

C
Christin M

I'm not sure what role to ascribe each person I interacted with, but it was lackluster in every way. Uninterested, unprofessional, unprecedented poor service and food. It took them 20 minute's to reheat frozen meatballs for my meatball sandwich. The bread was really good, keep buying that brand! The marinara was more on the sour flavor, instead of a proper herby umami. The meatballs were frozen and microwaved. Definitely no care and possibly expired as they had a rough taste. Minimal mozzarella because they cheap out at every corner possible. I really hope this marinara is not the same they use on their pizza because it's worse than prego. Couldn't be bothered to give me a napkin, but they can pour beer. It would take a literal coupon to convince me to step foot in this place. Don't worry about the crowd, the place is empty...

J
Joey Q

Pizza is pretty pricey. Depends it can come out good but sometimes it can also be sort of sloppy at times like if they don't care. The crust has always came out the same which is really good though. Place is also sort of dirty they definitely need to clean better. This place is your 3/5 stars. If they lower the prices I'll give it a 4 or if they at least make sure to always take time on your pizza and it comes out looking really really good.

Though Lamppost Pizza is a staple in the community that is loved by many, the pizza is pretty average and grossly overpriced. I only stop in for an occasional lunch special (slice, salad, soda for $12), instead of buying an entire pie.

Don't get antipasta. They use sub-par meats. Pizza was ok, not low fats cheese or premium pepperoni. They rely on teams' business.

Took way to long to get my two large pizzas out. Was sitting in the waiting area and 3 people who came In after me got their multiple orders before I got mine. No one bothered to check in with me. By the time the bartender asked what my order was they were barely even hot. Tried to blame it on a “busy night” even when I was there before it got busy. Won’t be back again.

$40 for a large is steep. It's expensive for what it is and it seems they get offensive of bad reviews. You wait a while for your food even though you've called it in and get there after the time they give you. It's good pizza, but not the best. Not for the money anyways. The attitude of the staff is stale, nothing to be excited about. Perhaps it's a place if they know you..you'll get better service? Idk

I honestly wish I could give this place more stars 🌟. The pizza is good. This place is family run, and poorly managed. Every time we've ordered online, I get an estimated time for pick up. When I arrive, I'm asked to wait another 20 to 30 minutes. Today, the young lady at the register, said your early... we're backed up by an hour. Don't take online orders if you can't deliver on time, or update your expected time! Seems that they don't even start making your pizza until you arrive. Last time we order from here, you've lost a customer.

I used to go to Lamppost Pizza all the time during my lunch break when I worked close by. They were so quick, friendly and the pizza was delicious! So I was shocked when I came to grab a pizza a couple of days ago. First off, the place needs a huge renovation! Which I think they might be working on because there was a bunch of materials just laid out in front of the building. Second, the customer service sucked. Came in with my hubby and not a greeting not nothing. I told my husband if we are not acknowledged in the next minute we’re leaving. As we were about to walk out, we finally were greeted. Took our order at 4:32; we just ordered a large pep & pine pizza. The guy said about 20 mins. So we waited and waited and waited.... Finally, our pizza was ready at 5:13. Does it really take 45 mins to make 1 pizza? So anyways, we get home to finally eat and the pizza is so freakin greasy. I had to dap it with a napkin. It was tasty but not worth a 45 min wait. It actually tasted better the next day. Also, I found out that they have 9 recent violations. Yikes!

Just got an order through Postmates. The pizza crust was burnt. They forgot the sauce for the wings. First and last time ordering here.

Had the worst pizza ever. very burnt and rubbery. Weird sign outside written in a pizza box “do not enter no matter what” windows were blacked out. Don’t know who was cooking that day but they failed miserably. Will not be back.

Pizza was not that good and for the price seems unfair. It was no better than Little Caesars pizza. Go to shakeys pizza instead if you are that area of Torrance. Anyone who has the pizza their in my opinion it's out of share convenience.

I am writing to express my disappointment with a recent experience at your Lampost Pizza location during an AYSO soccer event. Although I was not part of the event and was dining with my family, we encountered a serious issue with our order and how it was handled. I placed an order for two large pizzas and one large salad, totaling $80, and was given a table number to display. While supervising my children as they played video games and tended to the baby, I lost track of when our food was delivered. Upon checking with the cashier about the status of our order, I was informed it had already been served. After investigating, I discovered that our food had been mistakenly placed on another party’s table, and they had consumed it. I explained the situation to the cashier, clarifying that we were not part of that group. Unfortunately, the response was dismissive, with the cashier stating it was “not his problem.” When I suggested retrieving equivalent items from the other party or replacing our salad, the cashier refused to take any action. This experience was not only frustrating but also exacerbated by the cashier’s unprofessional and dismissive tone. It left us feeling overlooked and disregarded as customers.

food was fine. all of the booths had table tops that were so sticky, crusted over you could see the dark filth on them. One can gently scratch the filth off with a fingernail. They need to use a good cleaner to clean every single one of those tables. What I saw was a number of young workers doing absolutely nothing except watch television. UGH....

This was my favorite local pizza place. I love their pizza and my kids love them too. We often visit here at least 2-3 times a month making it almost a weekly stop for pizza dinner. However, couple weeks ago, when I took my two kids for pizza dinner on a weekday, I experienced the worst customer service at this place. We placed an order at 5:30pm at the counter. It was moderately busy and there were few more people lining up behind me as I placed my order. I ordered one medium pizza and a couple of drinks. Waited about 30 minutes and saw two people who lined up behind me already getting their pizzas and eating. I asked one of the servers to check on my order for me as it has been more than 30 minutes (usually, it comes out fairly fast, like 15-20 minutes). The server came back and told me it's just getting inside the oven and will take 10 more minutes. Ummm, that's like 45 minutes to cook one medium pizza! I waited 15 more minutes, but there was no sign of our pizza. As two super hungry children were getting bored at waiting for almost an hour, I went to the counter and checked with the kitchen to see where they were at with my pizza. When I told them "hey it's been like 50 minutes.. it's okay if you forgot to put my order in the oven but please give me an accurate time when we can eat." Cashier at the counter said "oh it's coming out now" and the lady at the kitchen was being defensive and told me "we never forget any order, we were working on it in the order it was received" So I told them "I come here almost weekly and I never had to wait this long even when it was during the night of Dodgers World Series. In fact, a couple of people who ordered after me were already eating well before me." The lady told me "Well, they might have preordered!" But I knew they ordered after me because I walked by when the person behind me was placing his order at the counter after I got my drinks from the fountain. When we finally got our pizza, it was well over 50 minutes of waiting! Not sure where that attitude came from but when a customer waited 50 minutes to get their food, any restaurant should first apologize for the slow service. I don't care if it's 3 star Michelin chef making a gourmet dish or a medium size pizza. Making customer wait 50 minutes isn't something they should be proud of. As I leave, I asked them if they have a discount coupon or free drink coupon or something to complement my very negative experience I had today. And that kitchen lady stared at me and told me to go online and find it myself. Not even a single apology and what a rude way to say goodbye to unsatisfied loyal customers. I am so sad my favorite local pizza place to treat their loyal customer this way. I am sure I will be sharing my negative experience with all the social medias, seach engines, and platforms out there.
