Opiniones de Namkeen Brooklyn
Had to give this place a try. Staff is super nice. Angie was super friendly and answered every question I had. It was my first time and she explained everything to me really well. She recommended the wings and sandwich. I got both spicy Maple Wings and Nashville Sandwich. Will be coming back.
Great chicken sandwich shop! Came for a quick bite and ordered the Nashville Hot Sandwich (medium spice) and the Pataka Fries. Really big portions so was definitely satisfied. My only gripe would probably be that the medium spice level (3rd hottest) wasn't spicy at all. Maybe that's a me problem, I'm not sure. If you want spicier, I'd check out a place like Rowdy Rooster. However, great food, great portions, and friendly, efficient customer service. Will definitely come back if I'm in the area again!
I got their waffle chicken sandwich and it was absolutely worth it. Its essentially 2 sandwiches, so great for sharing or satisfying your gluttonous needs. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, there were always ready to provide any requested service. I’m a bit of an introvert so I find it difficult to ask for thing, but they were very friendly.
Can’t recommend this spot enough. We had a group of 30 and we were all tired and hungry and needed food fast. The store was supposed to be closing up but they took all of our orders and made sure we all got our food before they closed up shop. And they did not sacrifice on quality even though it was the end of the night. 5/5
Really really really nice chicken sandwich. Kinda slow service but I think they’d just had a load of online orders, still I think they should prioritise the few ppl sat in the restaurant. Overall, food was phenomenal but the service was average.
Yo this is not just another hot chicken spot. NAMKEEN is different in the all right ways. The portions are generous. I got a Nashville hot chicken sandwich - medium spice. It was tasty. Prob get the hot next time. Don’t make the same mistake I made and sleep on this spot cuz it slaps. Thanks namkeen. I’ll be back soon.
I’m a sucker for any food from the Indian subcontinent and this place blows most fried chicken places out of proportion! Their tikkaville sandwich is really good, their masala fries are ok though. The service was great, they even gave me a free water bottle! I would come back here again!
OG shoot with a Pakistani twist! Namkeen got me hooked on their crunchy spicy maple wings! I can eat them for days! It’s always difficult to choose between their pataka fries and chicken tikka Mac and cheese but this time I craved for some pataka. You cannot, I repeat you MUST not leave the Namkeen premises until you try their clucking waffle sandwich. Isn’t that what you came for? But do give their chicken tikka grilled a shot it’s the new add to the menu.
WOW. I absolutely love coming here every time. Great quality and very reasonable pricing. I had a good experience both times that I came, the staff is always really friendly and accommodating. Along with the other Hot chicken restaurants i’ve been to, Namkeen does it different! The fusion of hot chicken and waffles with a Pakistani twist is simply brilliant. The chicken had the perfect blend of crispiness and spices, while the waffles were fluffy and delicious. What distinguished this restaurant above all else is their exceptional customer service. The staff here aren't just good; they are outstanding. From the moment I walked in, I felt like a valued guest. They didn't just take my order; the 2 gentleman engaged in a genuine conversation, providing insights into the menu and even some behind-the-scenes stories about their dishes. Namkeen is truly a one-of-a-kind restaurant, where culinary innovation meets warm hospitality. I wholeheartedly award them a solid 5-star rating and look forward to many more memorable visits to this extraordinary establishment.
This place definitely lives up to the hype with their chicken sandwiches. We had a Nashville hot and a Tikaville. Both were outstanding - tender and so full of flavor. I got the medium spicy. I probably could have gone for the very spicy but it’s always better to err on the side of caution the first time. All in all a great spot I look forward to returning to.
I was on my way to the airport and needed a final little snack 😝 I went to Namkeen on recc from a friend and was told I needed to try "pakistani friend chicken." I said okay. The way they ATE it up. Yoooooo the food was so good. The chicken was perfectly cooked, crunchy, and juicy. I also had some waffles that tasted like normal waffles, but I'd be back. An excellent later night option.
This spot was fire. Definetly coming back for more. Food was served hot and fresh. Spice levels are ridiculous too, you can choose from nothing to burning! Order first then grab a table. The waffle sandwich was the best item, you could get with or without maple syrup to your liking of sweet and hot or just hot. Nashville Sandwich was absolutely fire! Chicken Tikka mac n cheese was also very tasty. Recommend!!
First time trying Namkeen and it was phenomenal!! The chicken and waffles were my favorite. Perfect blend of savory and sweet and this was the most "expensive" dish of everything. It was $15! Totally worth it. All the dishes have a savory kick, especially the dhamaka fries and clucking waffle sandwich. All serving sizes are huge. 100% recommend!
One of the best Nashville chicken sandwiches I’ve ever had! It was so juicy and crunchy. Staff was friendly and music was great
After so many people and food bloggers literally raved about this place on insta, i finally decide to try them when was in brooklyn. Got their famous fried chicken tikkaville burger and I must say it was really good. The flavor of tikka sauce coated over chicken was ultimate. Must try!!
Really delicious food We came on a Wednesday evening and there was lots of tables for us to choose from People came in and out but nobody really occupied a table more than thirty minutes Food must be ordered and paid for at the time of order Food was a 8/10, all the chicken was seasoned deliciously and the waffles were fluffy A nice halal option in bustling Williamsburg.
Please don’t let this place change. Please. The grilled cheese butter chicken sandwich is absolutely ridiculous. Get yourself lactaid pills and be prepared to nap. This sandwich is so freaking good with the sauces it’s out of this world. Service is quick both for dining in and take out. Also get those fries, and get them with alll the stuff on em. I would suggest splitting with someone half of the food or going to the gym the next day. Very affordable and tasty eat in Williamsburg, hope it always stays the same. Well worth the hype.
Must visit if you’re in NYC! I’ve tried the Namkeen in New Jersey but this Namkeen in Brooklyn was absolutely amazing. I tried the mild Nashville Sandwich and the mild Dhamaka fries. I personally enjoy spicy food so in my opinion the mild spice level is just right. The food was so fresh, and the seasoning on the chicken was crunchy and tasty! The fries also had a generous amount of chicken on them. The sauces on the sandwich and fries add extra flavor to the food as well so be sure to try them! The service was very quick as well. The place was pretty packed but I still had my whole order to me in under 10 minutes for dine-in. I’ll be stopping by this Namkeen for sure whenever I’m in the NYC area again!
Pictured: Clucking chicken sandwich, dhamaka fries, chicken tenders, tikkaville sandwich Got to finally try out the hottest restaurant in town! I waited 90 minutes in line and 30 more minutes for the food to be ready and it was worth every minute! It’s the first Nashville Hot Chicken place in NYC/NJ and it was insanely good 🥵 It’s 100% halal and absolutely amazing! Location: 233 Main St, Chatham, NJ 07928 Ambience: It’s pretty small with about 2-3 tables and the inside decor is minimalistic and has a clean/modern look. Currently they’re not accepting phone or online orders but you can dine-in or pickup. Be ready to wait in line but you definitely won’t regret it. Price: All the mains on the menu range from around $8-$12 and the prices are extremely affordable for how delicious it all is (Menu picture attached). Menu/food: Their menu is limited but every single thing on the menu is a solid 10/10. It’s the perfect fusion with Pakistani flavors and different spice levels to suit your needs from naked, mild, medium, and hot. Highly recommend the dhamaka fries as they were the best fries I’ve ever had. Their Tikka sauce is unbelievably good. I ordered everything hot 🔥 (tenders, clucking waffle sandwich, Nashville sandwich) and I loved all of it. My favorite had to be clucking waffle sandwich which was hot fried chicken on a Belgian waffle with pickles, coleslaw, and chipotle aioli on jalapeños. Follow our insta: @nyc.halal for more halal food reviews!!
When in NY, you have to go to Namkeen in the heart of Brooklyn. We ordered chicken and waffle, chicken tikka Mac n cheese, Tikkaville and Tikka melt. And of course the chai! Everything is made fresh and JazākAllah Khayr packed with flavor. The service is quick and amazing. Definitely worth a try if you’re big on chicken! Be sure to check out the cool lighting and disco ball in the restroom.
We decided to try the Nashville sandwiches, and they turned out to be incredibly delicious. The crispy chicken fillet, generously coated with the signature Nashville hot sauce, offers a satisfying burst of flavors. There place was empty but that’s good for us. They brought food pretty fast. Will definitely go again. 10/10
Omg these were the best wings i ever had. The sandwich wasn’t as spicy as i was hoping but it was soooooo delicious. My friend that i ordered with also agreed. I will definitely be having ordering from here again!
First time ever trying this out. Loved the ambiance, very cool. Had the Nashville HOT burger which was very filling and full of flavour. 🍔 The dhamaka fries are the best I’ve ever had, way better than any poutine I had in Canada or any fusion fries I’ve tried around the world. Very flavourful and different than anything else compared to other places. 🍟 Kulfi shake was sweet but not too crazy which is a great thing. Smelled amazing and had a burst of flavours in that. 🧋 I would highly recommend anyone looking to try something new to check this place out, you won’t be disappointed!!
The spicy maple wings are definitely the star of the menu, and are more sweet than spicy so they need the chipotle aioli. Get the single tenders rather than the double set, it's cheaper and imo the single tenders are bigger. There's no AC, but they do have ceiling fans. The staff is super nice, and I love the interior design. Pakistan Zindabad!
We came with a party of nearly 32 people and even despite the immense traffic - service and quality of food was nothing short of terrific. We all left the establishment on the cold winter night feeling full, warm and most importantly, SATISFIED. Thats the Namkeen way!
Heard so much about this place and it lived up to our expectations. We had a long layover at JFK airport so we decided to check out Namkeen, Brooklyn. Best kulfi shake and fried chicken sandwich ever. Kulfi shake reminded us of our childhood kulfi back in India. I highly recommend.
I got the tikka masala, fried chicken sandwich, and absolutely loved it! It was not dry, perfectly cooked and crispy on the outside! The staff is extremely friendly, and the price of the meal was perfect. I couldn’t get enough of the fries!
After eyeing their Instagram for months, we drove from Maine just to eat here. A little spicier than we expected but still everything was so good! I’m not a mac & cheese person but honestly I think that was my favorite dish. The clucking waffle sandwich was also amazing. We got more than we could eat but was still excellent as leftovers the next day. Was very busy when we went but that’s how you know you’re at the right spot.
This place is incredible. Everything is Freshly prepared for each order, which make the taste awesome. Both the chicken and the wafle are extra crispy, the sauce a great and there are some vegies on top of that which works well. Good ambiance, the playlist could have been mine. Unfortunate that its that far from home. Would love to come back.
My boyfriend & I entered Herr after our other choices were not available & oh my goodness. Best choice ever, I would recommend this place entirely. This place give you a bang for your buck, and you will leave entirely full. Plus have some leftovers for later, because the portions are huge.
The Clucky Waffle is big enough to share, with 2 delicious chicken tenders in each half! We got the mild (sweaty palms), and it was just the right spice level without being overpowering. The sauce makes it all a bit messy, though, so you may need to knife and fork it. The jalapeno cheddar Belgian waffle was cooked exactly right, not dry like some waffles can be.
Wow. This is probably the best chicken burger I’ve had yet. I’ve tried famous halal ones all over America but this hits different!!! The dhamaka fries have so many fun flavors mixed with chicken, the clucking and Nashville sandwich are so good I enjoyed every bite.Food came out fast and the waffle was made fresh. Loved the Mexican cola too, and the prices were really good! 10/10 recommend
every time we come here its great - always end up stopping by twice on our short trips to NYC. particularly love the masala fries and the tikkaville sandwich. workers are kind and friendly, and the flow of the place is great. even if it seems busy w no tables open, it works out well that by the time the food is ready, youll be ok.
Fusion done right. A unique chicken sandwich with Pakistani twist worth stopping by and forming your own opinion. Chicken sandwich was amazing but the highlight was the fries with maple syrup and some sauce I’m blanking on the name of. See photos for more. Def coming back for the wings.
This place is an easy five stars. It’s a must visit if you’re into fried chicken sandwiches and that kind of comfort food. It can get a bit busy and it’s a casual place so you have to secure yourself a table if you want to dine in, which can require a small wait. Everything is halal. We ordered the Tikkaville Sandwich which is Pakistani twist on a classic fried chicken sandwich. The mint chutney really stood out. By far, my favourite item was the Spicy Maple Wings and I highly recommend them. The sweet maple and spice combination gave a fantastic flavour, and the size and quality of the wings were great as well. We also ordered the Pataka Fries and the Chicken Tikka Mac & Cheese. Both were good, with the mac and cheese being on the milder side. The service was friendly and everything including the bathroom was clean. I definitely plan on coming back.
Arriving there at 12 on the dot the door had to be unlocked. Wanting to try something other than a standard chicken sandwich I went for the Tikkaville Sandwich. And it DID NOT DISAPPOINT. Will be coming back for the flavor. While 13$ is a little high it’s fairly priced for the area and the size of the chicken you get. This ain’t no Popeyes.
Namkeen is the perfect little spot in Williamsburg, Brooklyn for Nashville hot chicken sandwiches with Pakistani roots. We ordered the clucking waffle sandwich and the Nashville sandwich. The portion size for the clucking waffle sandwich is quite large and for the price it is almost as if you are getting two sandwiches for one. The spice levels chosen were both medium but they still packed a bunch of flavor and spice. The staff were quick to help us when we walked in and cleaned a table for us as soon as it was available. They are both very helpful and efficient, which is needed at a spot with such demand.
We got the spicy maple wings and the Tikkaville Sandwich. The spicy maple wings were the best fried chicken I’ve had since I was in South Korea! So delicious, the wings were a 6 out of 5! The sauce used with them is like a maple oil and the breading on the wings is soooo crispy! I could eat the breading on them all day. The meat is cooked just right as well and is moist. Admittedly I wasn’t that big on the Tikkaville Sandwich because the flavor was too mellow to me. They do give you a large amount of chicken though and I think I’d just prefer their Nashville Sandwich instead. Prices were fair. Honestly though, the wings were so amazing that I have to come back for them again. Servers were friendly too Edit: Got the Nashville tenders to go and they are HUGE!!! Taste great too! Confirms my earlier recommendation for the Nashville variety! Both workers here are not stingy on sauce either and very nice
We loved the spicy fried chicken! Get the clucking waffle sandwich you won’t be disappointed! Everything is fresh and made to order. The cheddar jalapeño waffle is great with the fried chicken. Highly recommend if you are in the area! Huge portions you can easily split the clucking waffle sandwich.
I have never given a Google review to any store I've visited. BUT THIS PLACE. IS. SO. GOOD. Literally heaven on earth, especially for muslims who want halal food with true American taste. Their burgers are so juicy, fries the perfect amount of crispy, and prices so good for the serving size and taste. The staff is so so friendly, and the place is just a vibe. Great food. Great music. Great ambiance. Great prices.
Best fried chicken in Williamsburg, possibly all of Brooklyn. Addicting sauce, fluffy buns, and a ton of chicken. The maple wings, the classic sandwich, the Mac and cheese are all stars. We usually order pick up but dining in is low key with good seating.
I’ve been coming to this Namkeen for years now and the food, service, and quality has been consistently outstanding to this day. Most recently I went with a big party and the crew there handled all the orders with confidence and professionalism. Major props to the guys in the back pushing out all this amazing food. Definitely try the Nashville sandwich if you’re there, the clucking waffle sandwich is also a great option, but do not miss out on the loaded pataka fries (my personal favorite). Thank you Namkeen, and keep up the great work!
Chicken tikkah Mac and cheese was amazing. It consists of 2 well marinated tenders on top of Mac and loaded with the minty sauce. The spicy smash burger was good, but next time I would request no mayo sauce (or only on the side). Definitely trying the Nashville sandwich and the chicken & waffles combo next. Definitely a top pick for Nashville style halal on Bedford Av.
We ordered nashville and tikkaville burgers. They were delicious, I did want my food to finish actually. The personnel was very kind and helpful as well. We ordered smash burger for the kids without spice, pickles etc. and they ate all of it, even though it was just cheese and meat and we ordered another. Pataka fries has a special sauce with garlic and spices, it was addictive🥹 I will tell my friends about this place and certainly come here again.
coming here with an empty stomach and a mind clouded with hunger. I was blessed with food that was timeless. I was sent here by word of mouth, and the suggestion didn’t disappoint. Service was patient, food came in a timely matter. I desired wings that are the best in the Bedford neighborhood and the expectation was exceeded. Thank you for a great meal ! I’m super pleased :)
When I entered the restaurant, there was no one at the counter. Three workers were outside talking, and I had to call them in for assistance. They came in with a bit of reluctance, which didn’t feel very welcoming. I ordered the Pataka Fries with chicken ($12), which turned out to be delicious, topped with a sweet sauce and served in a generous portion, perfect for one person. I also tried the Beef Smash Burger ($9); although it was quite small in size, it had a good flavor. The ambiance was pleasant and comfortable for dining. Overall, it was a good experience, and I would recommend visiting.
Really enjoyed this place!! The food was really yummy! The fries was warm but on the colder side when it was served to us and so when I told them about it they gladly made me a new fresh one and it was soo tasty with a nice crunch. The playlist was really good too lots of Charli xcx and Ariana Grande so good vibes. Really happy with everything we ordered and would be back the next time we are in the area.
The place was super cozy I loved every little detail. It was simple, but the small touches were so aesthetic. My friends ordered the Chicken dhamaka fries, the Waffle Sandwich, and the Tikkaville Sandwich. I was full, so I didn’t get anything at first, but I ended up taking a bite from their food and it was delicious! They loved everything and said they’ll definitely be coming back. When it was prayer time, I asked if they had a bag or anything I could use to pray on. One of the employees went to the back and brought me a prayer mat. They were so kind and thoughtful. We loved the place, the food, and the people. Definitely going back again!
Excellent place, excellent atmosphere, good service. The sandwich was excellent. The waffle was very fresh. The chicken was fresh. All the ingredients were fresh, a little spicy for my taste, but everything was good. The bathroom was a little dirty. The entire place on the outside was very clean. I liked hearing the chefs singing in the kitchen. A little expensive. The chicken had a lot of flour. Speedy 6/10.
Amazing Experience at Namkeen! Food at this place was on point! We tried the Nashville and Tikkaville burgers, and both were absolutely amazing. I loved their Dhamaka fries – perfectly seasoned and paired wonderfully with all the sauces. Everything was made fresh, so it all came out hot and delicious. The staff were incredibly helpful and attentive, ensuring a great dining experience. Highly recommend this spot for anyone craving flavorful burgers with a unique twist!
Delicious halal food! My husband and I came here after a long day in the city saw this place as we were looking for halal options and decided to check it out… VERY GLAD WE DID! The food was really good and the milkshake was rich and delicious. It was very filling and the place was very clean. The bathroom was clean also and their hand soap smells amazing. It was pretty empty just us and one other person, the music was a vibe and the scene was nice. Nice place for a lunch out with your spouse or friends.
I stumbled upon this place after my first two options in the area were unavailable. Don’t let the snug accommodations fool you the foods well worth the wait for a seat to free up. I wish I could say I’ve tried everything on the menu but the few items I did try were absolutely phenomenal. I highly recommended the Kulfi I had no idea what this was all I knew is that I saw a different kind of milkshake and I wanted in boy was I right. As for the customer service man that place is different is all I will say just go for the food, although bro at the front counter with the Rick n Morty t-shirt was kool and helpful as much as he could be.
Excellent halal chicken restaurant. Got the Tikkaville sandwich and spicy maple wings both were cooked perfectly. The breading on the maple wings were 6/5. It was so crispy, reminded me of Korean fried chicken. And the sauce was more sweeter but great. The Tikka sandwich was OK. The Tikka sauce reminded of home but doesn't feel right on the sandwich. I think the Nashville sandwich would be better. Atmosphere was great, good hindi music playing. Definitely recommend the wings!
My trip to Namkeen was worth it! I went on a Saturday after around 1:00 pm, and it wasn't crowded. The establishment was clean and neat, yet not too big. (A couple tables were available outside as well.) I decided to order the Tikka Grilled Cheese, and I'm glad I did! The sourdough bread was toasted to perfection. The ratio of chicken to cheese with the pickled onions and Tikka sauce wasn't too much; it still felt like a grilled cheese. I ate the whole thing. One order of the Dhamaka fries is enough for two, even three, people to share. The fries have lots of seasoning, and the other components--Cole slaw, pickles, Tikka sauce, mint chutney, and chicken elevated the fries. I'll definitely eat from here again.
The Tikkaville chicken sandwich was really flavorful and a perfect level of spice. I definitely recommend this. It wasn’t excessively spicy and I could appreciate the flavors. The spice level elevated the experience. I also tried the Nashville hot chicken sandwich which was kind of mid. The mac and cheese as a side was served cold unfortunately, and it was a meh mac and cheese. I felt like something was missing and being cold didn’t help for sure. The dining environment is casual and they play popular hip hop and pop songs.
The Nashville chicken sandwich was really great, we preferred it over the tikkaville chicken sandwich simply because the Nashville chicken was slightly sweeter and not as spicy. Great value given the size of the burger and how fresh the ingredients used were. Not sure if it’s because we attended as a big group or not, but it took a while to get our food so definitely order ahead if possible. Would recommend!
It’s pretty good, I wish they were in manhattan or the Bronx. The reason I’m not giving 5 stars is that they take forever to make the food. Gotta order online before you go there otherwise you’d be waiting 30-45 minutes for your meal. Wish there were more Halal spots like this across town.
Went here around lunch time, it's a medium sized restaurant, but it wasn't packed when my friend and I went there. I ordered the Nashville sandwich, and my friend ordered the clucking waffle sandwich. Honestly, the clucking waffle sandwich is enough for two peeps! The chicken was still crunchy even after it cooled down a bit. Overall, a good sandwich place to stop at!
IG:@mrtravelfoodie Rating : 8.4/10 I heard about @eat.namkeen but didn’t know much about them before my visit, and I went as part of a food tour for my friend’s birthday! They currently have a special collaboration for June with @zeeshanbakhrani and the limited item is the Garam Masalaville Fried Chicken Sandwich. This is a beautiful restaurant with lots of space and incredibly friendly service! What we ordered: - Garam Masalaville Fried Chicken Sandwich - Chicken Tikka Fries (Loaded Fries) I didn’t know what to expect after seeing these BEAUTIFUL fried chicken sandwiches come out and the LOADED fries had me wildin! From the first bite of this sandwich, I was just mindf*#ked. This chicken was not dry but not juicy, it was just perfect. The batter used to make it was crispy, light on oil and thinly breaded. The flavor was truly chef’s kiss! You could truly taste all of the Ingredients used to make it from the Garam masala spices to the Serrano peppers to the mint and tamarind chutneys. I was blown away at how delicious this sandwich was. Moving on, they GENEROUSLY place a large heaping of fries under a couple of beautifully fried chicken tenders and drench the fries and chicken in tikka sauce and mint chutney! These fries were just as delicious as the sandwich. Overall, this is a must visit and you need to come before this June special is gone. I promise that you’ll be satisfied and happy after this meal! Comment below if you’ve been or you want to check them out! For more amazing eats, please follow, save and share this post.
I would give 5-star to the food and 3-star to the service. The chicken waffle sandwich was so so delicious and we sat outside and ate it, almost everyone passed us were jealous. I’m pretty good with spicy food and I ordered medium heat, it was pretty spicy. The day we went there was only one person serving and he was taking the order, helping the kitchen, wiping down the table, etc. We understand how tough it was but we waited 40 min for our order without any updates.
Great introduction of Pakistani flavors with common American foods. Service was ok, small place, order at the front and the food is brought out. Napkins/Utensils/water you grab at front. Must have are the Golabi Waffle and the chicken sandwich!! Both 10/10 French fries (not pictured) were good with their spices and a sweet maple sauce. Very good if you like sweet potatoes Mac & cheese is Normally a heavy food but this one was surprisingly light and tasty with their sauces. Was missing more of a crunch element since the fried chicken lost its crunch with the sauce. Disappointed in the grilled cheese, the cheese wasn’t melted but the flavor was good. Overall 4/5 would come back
This was a great place to try out spicy burgers, especially when you go with people since it has such good SEATING!! I liked how fast the service was while the food was so-so, as I somewhat enjoyed eating the Nashville sandwich, whereas my friend's Chicken Tikka Mac was dripping with a river of oil. The fries were amazing, though making me want to come back just for the delicious fries💯
Pricey but Halal. The atmosphere is pretty clean and calm. Service is good. Chicken is pretty-made and heated before serving. The Nashville sandwich is average. The waffles and chicken do not go as a sanwich/burger style. It’s practically too big to be eating as a sandwich/burger. It looks really good aesthetically in pictures/display.
Let’s be honest. It’s a nice idea. But this isn’t anywhere close to the best chicken of my life. It’s pretty average. Perhaps the seasoning is above average, but the chicken itself was not particularly well prepared. Tends toward over fried and dry. Fries were a real disappointment.
The hype for this place after seeing all the positive reviews was huge but my experience was underwhelming. I really like the concept of this restaurant but I had higher expectations for the food. The Nashville chicken sandwich was decent. The “tikkaville sandwich” on the other hand didn’t taste good. The tikka sauce didn’t really work and since it’s the same tikka sauce on the “Dhamaka fries” as well, those were just fine too. It’s hard for me to recommend this place to anyone as there are other Halaal hot chicken places in NY that offer much better quality/experience.
The food here was pretty darn good. We had the Nashville chicken sandwich, the tikkaville sandwich and masala fries. Unfortunately I have to mention that I was severely disappointed by the chicken to bun ratio. Everyone knows that a key component to any chicken sandwich is having enough chicken in your bun. However; in this case it felt like a chicken tender was placed between the bun, and several bites had just bread. I mean I couldn’t even take a picture of the sandwich showing any chicken because it’s all bread! It’s just disappointing for $12. I hope management fixes this cause I would love to come back and enjoy a full sandwich. I didn’t love the masala on the masala fries but they weren’t terrible.
Underwhelming and in consistent. Both of the sandwiches in my order had more breading than meat. My friends ordered the same thing and had way more chicken so there is clearly a quality control / consistency issue. The Nashville hot was good but average. The tikkaville had a lot going on yet was incredibly bland. I enjoyed the chicken wings but not enough to go back.
Heard about namkeen on TikTok and honestly was pretty disappointed. Maybe we ordered the wrong things, but we weren’t too impressed. We got the pataka fries and chicken tikka Mac n cheese. The fries itself were good and seasoned well. The chipotle aioli was good but I wasn’t a huge fan of the spicy maple sauce. For the Mac n cheese it was covered in mint chutney to the point where it overpowered the whole dish. The dish was also cold, not sure if it was because of the chutney. It also took about 30 minutes for the Mac n cheese to come, just for it to be cold. The chicken in the Mac n cheese was good, but the rest wasn’t great.
Casual spot that fries the chicken fresh..comes out piping hot. The breading is just thick enough and crispy. However, chicken itself needs salt. The tika sauce is a nice level of heat and the mint chutney is another level of creamy herby flavor but all of this is diminished cause the lacking of salt.
I just wanted to mention that their food is good but extremely spicy. Me and my friend ordered mild chicken tenders and chicken waffle and we almost passed out because of the spice level. My friend and I are both Indians from India, and this space offers extremely spicy food which can make you dizzy. The taste is great, no doubt but you will surely get sick the next day. I usually do not write reviews but for others safety it is required. I was extremely hungry so I took a few bite and then felt super dizzy and was sweating. They did offer us extra ice cream since we couldn't eat the food. The ambience is nice. My recommendation will be to add a warning when you are adding that level of spice. My friend is from Delhi who likes spicy momos and paanipuri and this was extreme. Stay safe out there!
Place seemed to lack personality. Was hopeful given it’s highly rated and seems to have a large fan/customer base, but I wasn’t feelin it. Food was definitely quantity over quality. While the chicken in my sandwich was fairly large and very crispy - all i could taste in my mouth was its paprika seasoning. I didn’t really get any other flavors, so I was just inhaling hot paprika chicken. The fries were fine, but there was nothing to really bind the individual components together so it felt haphazardly put together. For the price I paid for a fries app, waffle chicken sandwich, and bottled soda - i dont have issues with. Mainly the lack of cohesion and depth of flavor were my biggest gripes. Maybe I came on an off-day, but I had higher hopes!
Went here a while ago and then came back, I think it has really dropped off - the tenders I ordered were cold, and the mac and cheese was also cold and given to me before my full Oder, And possibly the worst cole slaw I’ve had in recent memory and look how small it is! Biggest issue was they no longer offer tap Water! - Aparently people broke the cups (in Williamsburg really?) - it is a disappointing cash grab and I won’t be back because of it.
The food is so bad. They had limited time tacos, probably the worst tacos I had and smaller than baby food for $4 each! They have the rudest and slowest service ever. They had a huge line and no one greeted to take the order for over 10mins. Not even “hi I am sorry I will be right back to take ur order” just saw all the people on line and ignored. Then everyone in the restaurant who ordered was waiting for their food for over an hour and they didn’t care. They were packing up take out orders while customers were sitting at the restaurant waiting. Different groups in the tables, we were all looking at each other and was in disbelief. They literally ignored us and continued doing take out orders. I have been coming here for a long time and this happens every time but I ignored coz the food was decent but this was straight rude. When the food came, it was completely cold and tasteless. One of the worker or owner of the spot was not using any gloves or precaution of hygiene. He was continuously touching his phone and others things then making waffles and repeat. It’s open processing area so you can see everything. Used to be the best chicken & waffles spot. I raved about it nd recommended the place to so many people. Last 2 times I went, it’s gone downhill. Really didn’t wanna write a negative review but I think the owners need to hear out what’s going on. Started off great as a food place but not going in right direction.
I had a very disappointing experience with this restaurant today. I drove 30 minutes through traffic to place an order, only to be told they had decided to close early because they “weren’t busy.” This is completely unprofessional. If you change your hours, at least update your online information or put a sign on the door so customers don’t waste their time and gas. It’s frustrating to make the effort to come all the way here and find the doors closed during posted business hours. I expected better reliability and respect for customers.
