Banh Xeo Boys is located in Rodeo 39, a modern food hall. Customers rave about the banh xeo, especially the "Swimming Pig" version, praising the generous portions and flavor. The bacon fries, horchata pandas, and churros are also popular.
Tip: Try the Swimming Pig banh xeo and the bacon fries. Be aware that the banh xeo might be a little oily for some.
The best banh xeo I've ever had! So glad I was able to try these during my visit to LA. Had the swimming pig. Everything was good including the drink & churros. Two thumbs up!
I just landed from the airport and needed food, so we spontaneously took a day trip to Orange County. After browsing through all the vendors at Rodeo 39 marketplace, we decided to try the banh xeo from this eatery first. We ordered two Swimming Pigs, which comes with pork belly and shrimp, sautéed onions and steamed bean sprouts. This dish is served with green leaf lettuce, mint, cilantro, cucumber, pickled carrots & daikon, fresh garlic, fresh Thai chili and house made "Nuoc Cham" Vietnamese dipping sauce. I loved watching them make these Vietnamese crepes through the window and couldn't wait to devour them when they were finally done preparing them. The crepes were neatly packaged in a brown paper box, so it was easy to eat as well. The veggies were fresh, crepe was crunchy, and packed with plenty of protein. It better be- for the amount that I paid for them LOL. This might be the best tasting banh xeo's that I have ever tried. I loved how flavorful the pork belly was too. Definitely worth a try if you're in the area.
Banh Xeo Boys is located in Rodeo 39, a new trendy food plaza. Although I thought it was unusual to have this type of Vietnamese cuisine located here, I gave it a try. They do a good job creating the traditional Central Vietnamese crepes. They have several options for people of different diets and food restrictions. You should give this place a try. They do a good job of freshly preparing your order. Bánh xèo isn't the only thing they have on their menu. They have some other non-Vietnamese items like churros with a savory dip. May seem odd but it was good. They also had a panda drink.
Banh Xeo Boys are located inside the Rodeo 39 public market and I first found out about them after seeing their crepes posted on Instagram. Even though I live 1.5+ hrs away it was well worth going out of my way to pay them a visit. Their banh xeo were the most crispy I have had anywhere and were large and delicious; I felt like I got my monies worth. Also was a big fan of their pandan horchata drink. Everything is made fresh so you have to wait a little for your crepe to be made.
So light and crispy! We got the pork belly and shrimp combo (the crepe, two egg rolls, and a drink) and we were super pleased with it. It was a huge portion (look at that box!!) and we didn't eat it all at once. It reheated well later which goes to show just how well prepared this dish was! The staff were awesome, happy, and fast! They give you a little buzzer that tells you when your order is ready which is nice because you can walk around while you wait. Great value for money.
Excellent Bahn Xeo for both traditionalists and people looking for a bit of fusion. Everything was cooked fresh (and takes ~15mins), it was crispy without the grease, and I highly recommend it! Rodeo 39 as a whole is a huge hit and I really appreciated how they set up outdoor seating (under a tent) inside their space. It does get a bit cold during the winter, but the variety of food & desserts in the food hall is impressive!
The Pork Belly Banh Xeo is my favorite Just simple food and tasty. Mood food for sure, and I wander over here nearly half the times I visit this Rodeo place. Highly recommend
This area is so cute. It is inside an indoor food market & they have really cute vendors around them too. They’re super quick & there’s plenty of seating around the area! The drink was soooo freaking good & I’ve had pandan before but never in a drink. Super interesting. It was a really cool twist to pandan. Would visit again.
The Pork Belly Fries are freaking delicious my favorite thing on their menu.
These are the best BanhXeos I've had outside of home. Would highly recommend. Egg rolls are a good addition!
Hands down the best banh xeo in OC! Delicious and crispy with fresh vegetables and house made sauces!
Wow this was good! I had the pork belly and shrimp...it was delicious.
Amazing , real authentic Vietnamese banh xeo
i can't stop ordering the crispy pork rolls
So fresh! Love this spot
oh hell yeah dawk A+
I order delivery from here often and it’s fricking delicious. An awesome introduction to bahn xeo and Vietnamese food besides pho in general. I’m also not vegan but the vegan bahn xeo is the best thing on the menu in my opinion. So much flavor and veggies and the bahn xeo is the best delivery system for veggies! I would love to see the menu expand occasionally to see what the bahn xeo boys can do. Also a great location for this type of restaurant, at rodeo 39.
Been here a few times now and I just have to leave a review! The consistency not only in food but also in safety measures and courtesy of staff is amazing!! The banh xeo itself is so good! Nice and crispy. I’ve never had banh xeo with pork belly but now I can’t go back! Price is very good too! The egg rolls are also good but I’m so in love with the banh xeo. My new go to spot for banh xeo!
This is the best fusion iv had in a while! Try the fries first if your new to banh xeo. The pork belly with that sauce is du ma ngon qua! I recommend coming, makes me love Viet food even more than I already do!
I often tell my wife that I don't know where else I could go to get a banh xeo that is as good (or better) than what my grandma at home had made, but this place brought me back to childhood and I'm glad she found it! Good crispy batter, plenty of good leafy greens, yummy fish sauce that was nicely balanced with chili for heat and vinegar for acid. Highly recommend!
Always wanted to check out place and try the none made at home version of Bahn Xeo. Location - Inside the 4th Street market food court. Parking - Worst parking situation here with all the stores in the complex. Venue - They have a section in the back right corner of the 4th St market. Price - A bit high in my opinion but it was worth it to try out. Food - Great authentic flavor and good portion. Service - Good service overall and didn't take to long to get order. Overall it's cool and worth checking out.
The bang xeo wasn’t bad. Crispy crispy and little oil meaning it more healthy. Normally a lot of bang xeo are so oily. They can work on the meat and shrimp. Just too dry on both the meat and shrimp.
Best Banh Xeo on the planet. Crispy, crunchy, meaty, leafy greens and a generous portion to boot. This is definitely for sharing. Or just skip a meal and devour this monster. It's worth it
The Best banh xeo (Viet crepe/pizza) in town! Stop by when ur in OC (Orange County) inside Rodeo 39.
I found this place through Instagram. I made the 1 hour drive from my house just to try this amazing food I had never seen before. It did not disappoint! The heaviness of the crepe mixed with the freshness of the veggies and the flavor of the sauce, it all goes together so nicely. I ordered the pork belly and shrimp Banh Xeo and an order of pork egg rolls. It was enough food for 2 people. They are located in a big shopping center, so parking was not an issue. I’ll happily make the drive out there again !
Great food and portion size. Just look at the amount of pork and shrimp given in the banhxeo. It’s my first time having this dish, and it definitely did not disappoint. Just kinda oily imo, but that’s just me. And also I’m aware that you probably need that much oil to even make this dish. Would recommend!
The pork belly fries are off the chain. Loaded with so much flavor, highly recommend. The crepes are giant and come loaded with toppings. My sister enjoyed the Swimming Pig and I had the Flower Power. Loved the pandas horchata and the churros are worth a try. You can park behind the building and enter through the patio. It’s closer and easier to find a parking space.
Egg wrap was nice and crispy, not too greasy, with the pork filling dry but crispy but the shrimp was a little too cooked and had a nice flavor. Pandan horchata was a nice twist to horchata. Customer service was very genuine and friendly. 4/5
Banh xeo in a box. All the herbs and sauces comes in another box. Nice and fresh. They were quite generous with the herbs. Gave 4 stars as I have had better. Box concept is novel.
The food is good, but kind of expensive for the amount of food they give you.
It's good. It's served with a lot of meat!
Great Banh xeo for a fast casual place.
The crepe is not crunchy enough so I told them to make it thicker for a second round but they told me the owner told them only to use one cup. You can't taste the crepe it's too thin and not crunchy but soft. You have to get more than one meet ingredient otherwise just like any other Vietnamese crepe 4 cheaper price
Overall: 3.9/5 We visited Rodeo 39 Public Market on a Sunday night at 7:30 PM. We walked the place & Banh Xeo Boys looked really good. We ordered and it took about 15 minutes for our order to come out. Swimming Pig Banh Xeo ($14.50): We got this one since it had both pork belly & shrimp. Being Vietnamese and eating homemade banh xeo, it doesn't compare. The best thing about their banh xeo is that it's very crispy (probably since they didn't cook the banh xeo with the vegetables). But in terms of flavor, it's lacking that authenticity. They give you all the vegetables & sauces on the side. The pork belly was a little overcooked. The shrimp was good. Pandan Horchata ($4.75): This was interesting but I wouldn't get it again. It tastes like horchata with a light pandan taste. You do taste a lot of milk as well.
Watching them make it was enjoyable. However, for the price, the banh xeo had little substance inside and not much veggies. Was it because we had it togo? 🤔 Taste and the crunchiness was adequate, overall 3.5*
The portions for the churros is too too small Churro flavor is decent Pandan horchata flavor is 4/10 pandan flavor is there but seems like it was lacking a bit of ice. Little disappointed but I’m sure their ban xeo is delicious!
Dirty on the meat full of charcoal particles. We were watching outside the window and they didn't clean the pan after every cook. The crepes were crispy but the Shrimp was over-boiled and had no sweet taste of the shrimp when you chewed it. The fish sauce for dipping was barely enough for one person - No sharing, please. The cost for each is a little inflated.
I went to the one at Rodeo 39. The food is okay. The veggies/greenery on the side is nice to balance the meat out. Also, the food is light and doesn’t fill you up so I don’t recommend sharing a meal with someone. The pork belly saigon hangover was too oily for me. They messed up a previous customer’s order and also this one. How do you mishear Dr. Pepper as coke?? They also charged $20+ for two combos and only served one combo when the two combos were clearly stated on the register. They didn’t even redo the order and soda. To the employees: PLEASE repeat the orders to the customers to avoid mistakes like these.
I love many kinds of foods from all over the world and vietnamese banh xeo is one of my favorites. I decided to try this place for the first time when I first visited public 39 rodeo market. It's like a food court. I ordered 2 dishes from banh xeo boys and they were both good. Portions were generous and the crepes had good flavors. The texture was nice. I do prefer it to be all fluffy or lightly crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside, but this was nice too. The only complaints I have are: it was excessively greasy and most of the mint were not fresh, but bruised or rotten Other than that, it was really yummy. Customer service was also very nice. The young girl at the front counter was sweet and helpful. I will go back if I am in the area. Otherwise, I want to try other places that offer fresh good quality veggies/ingredients and less oily/greasy banh xeo. Please make some good recommendations in OC if you guys can. Thank You!
My rating is because they forgot the sauce and the prickled veggies. The flavor is good but dropped down in rating due to missing items in both orders. I’ll check them out in person instead.
Quite disappointed by what I had received; while the Swimming Pig was loaded with protein, there was nothing else in it that you'd expect to see from a traditional Bánh Xèo - no green onions, bean sprouts, etc. While the crepe itself was extremely light and crispy, and it did fill me up with how much protein there was, I was slightly put off by the overly sweet coconut flavor present in the batter. For me, a good variety of fresh greens could redeem any lackluster dish. However, as pictured, the star-crossed pair of wilted greens that accompanied my meal did little to improve my impression of what I had received. Nước chấm wasn't anything to write home about either: passable and underwhelming. Personally, from my experience today, I'd kindly recommend any other options at Rodeo 39.
Bánh xeo has too much white onions. Should not blended in with the barter. Makes it hard to chew and forces these folks don’t like onion having to swallow it.
it was alright who pays 12$ for banh xeo that doesnt even taste good and the sauce is weird too
I did not have a pleasant time. The banh xeo itself was very soggy, not crisp at all.
Food is decent but ordering system through app is terrible. Ordered for pickup at 6:00pm and had to wait an additional 30 to actually receive order. Needless to say the food at the end of the wait was not even worth it. Definitely do not order from this location online as those who ordered after us in person received food first. Establishment did nothing to compensate for the additional time waisted waiting either. Again food was fine but nothing spectacular.
I used to be a regular here in that I would never get anything else at Rodeo 39. But Bahn Xeo Boys has done a complete 180 in quality, now. Yesterday, the portion size of my order was basically half the previous size. They included only 2 sad, stringy pieces of cilantro, no carrots — the only veggies were a couple lettuce leafs and soggy bean sprouts. Also, the soda machine broke, and they decided not to fix it, so there's no point in getting a combo either. I used to go home with half my food for leftovers; yesterday I left hungry. What the heck happened to this place? It used to be so good.
Google says they close at 8p. I got there at 730p and they were closed. Not sure if I'll make the drive from perris again.
Really long waits when I’m the only customer
Very bad👎👎
Mostly hype. The banh xeo was beyond crispy more like crumble which traditional banh xeo isn't supposed to be. It's suppose to be soft and crispy. The pork belly was overcooked and hard. What a disappointment of a classic Vietnamese dish. I've been eating this dish since I was 2 yrs old and this is the first time I was disappointed. BTW the staff forgot my order and claimed they called it yet I was 10 feet away waiting. There are better banh xeo places. Never again! Last parking sucks so let it be known.
To be frank, the bánh xèo is extremely horrible. The chicken looked old and has very dry. Usually bánh xèo would have bean sprout, coconut milk, and onions inside it. However, they did not have it when I ordered it. The bánh xèo looked extremely burnt. The shrimp and chicken bánh xèo was bad. I never was a bánh xèo like this in my whole life. I’ll never come back to this place ever again.
Will not be going to this place again. Lousy customer service. Paid for an order of Saigon Hangover and Pork Belly Fries at 7:03pm. Got my order at 7:48pm. Cashier should have said there is a 30-40 min wait.
First time trying this place and was disappointing. Some of the lettuce were rotten and the crepes were hard. Never waste my money here again. Also I ordered a sprite and they gave me a Diet Coke.
