Big River Grille garners mixed reviews. Many praise the fast, friendly service, especially mentioning servers Tony and Tamar. The burgers and beer are frequently cited as highlights, while some find the food and atmosphere uninspiring and overpriced for what it is.
Tip: It's convenient if you're staying in the Swan, Dolphin, or Boardwalk hotels. If other restaurants are full, this is a good choice.

We had an excellent large group dinner of 22 people at Big River Grille. I would like to start off by saying the staff was excellent and patient throughout the entire dinner. All of our orders were correct, we were always checked on and even when paying our waitress worked with us when we needed to arrange payment based on our group. We were very happy that the food was excellent too. Everything came out perfect from the salmon to the cheeseburgers. I highly recommend this location for the food as well as the staff who made our end of day very pleasant with a great family gathering dinner.
We went here for lunch. The service was fast and friendly and our meals were ready pretty quickly. I had the big Brew Cheeseburger with chips and my wife had the Wagyu Burger with rice. The burgers were great but the real reason to go here is the beer. I had the House IPA and it was delicious with flowerly hints and a bit of sweetness. I really enjoyed it. overall we had a great lunch without breaking the bank. We even enjoyed a delicious slice of Chocolate confusion.
I really enjoyed dining at Big River. The baby back ribs were very tasty and came with mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables. The portion was very generous and filling. On top of that, I additionally had a delicious chocolate cake for desert. The food was great, service excellent, staff friendly, and the Boardwalk environment was very pleasant. I give this restaurant my full recommendation.
Great visit! We were worried because there are some bad reviews on this place. However, waiting until the last minute everything with higher ratings was full. The service, Johnny, was superb. The food was excellent. We were seated immediately. Nothing to complain about.
Delicious food and drinks. Very good location. Just in the broad walk close to Disney hotels. Great service.... quick easy food! If you like my review, please click like.
After seeing Big River had reopened, I decided to visit one afternoon for a working lunch. The fish sandwich was great, the outdoor seating was comfortable, and the service from my server, Tamar, was top notch. Big River has always garnered mixed reviews, but my experience could not have been better.
At a resort, one can expect a standard of quality service and experience. My server Tony met and exceeded expectations with his quick and friendly service. He was speedy, attentive, and my group even overheard other patrons thanking him for his efforts. Give this boardwalk eatery a try and ask for Tony at the door! Note: make a reservation if you can.

Didn’t have a reservation, but they seated us right away at a nice outdoor table. Service was great! Joe was a phenomenal server, he noticed my Wisconsin shirt and struck up a conversation about sports. The fish tacos were great!
My first stop after I made it into town. I had the black and blue burger which was phenomenal! I was honestly expecting something more basic but it was delicious! I also got the sangria margarita and it also did not disappoint! The service was fantastic! The food came out incredibly fast! It was a great way to start the trip!
I read the details of some other experiences and what I got from that was to avoid the pasta. However, my wife got the cheeseburger and I got the Waygu burger. Both were AMAZING! Our server was great, we were seated right away, and the food came out fast. Our total bill was under $40 so we were very happy.
Joy was a great bartender and handled our food and drink orders without error. Drinks and food were good and fairly priced and service was great. Ended up going 2 nights in a row. Both times we got sandwiches and nachos I asked for medium on my burger and felt it was cooked properly and tasted great.
This place was so amazing. The food was great. The atmosphere even better. The servers are what make it so great! Went here twice and both times we got different servers. Both were so nice and so cool. They made the experience so much better. I would recommend this place to anyone! We stayed an extra hour because our servers were so cool and down to earth. If anyone plans on coming here ask for Nate or Aimee! Two of the best servers I've ever had! Also get the black cherry cider! You won't regret!
Waitress was awsome. After we ordered our delicious Nachos she waited to put in our main course cause she new that the Nachos would be so delicious and large that it would be enough for us she was spot on. This place Rocks I give the highest honors I highly recommend it.
Awesome best experience down here at Orlando. Paid to eat at several expensive places and this by far is better than all those. Big portions for the amount paid. Food is affordable and everything is great. Waiters are on point and go beyond the service asked of them. Was having a stressful day and our waiter was patient with the stress of ordering for three indecisive kids. Steaks, ribs, club sandwich, and burgers are all good.
Best place to eat at Disney World! My friend and I finished a full day at Epcot and arrived to the restaurant at 9:36 PM. We were immediately seated and asked our preference of where we would like to sit. Almost instantly after we sat down and got a feel for the menu our wonderful waiter, Nate asked what we wanted to drink. When he came back with the drinks he took our ordes and he was back with our food in under 10 minutes. The food was wonderful and came quickly even with order specifications! The meal was so good after a long day and check was under 30 dollars for the both of us! I definitely would here again!
We stopped here very last minute to eat and wow ! Our serve Joe is the best I’ve had in a long time. So knowledgeable and sweet. Very warm person. The world needs more Joel’s !!! Food was great 👍🏼 Joe keep being amazing and making people smile and have great days ! You’re the best Loved the bonding over Pittsburgh Pirates !!
Can't vouch for the food, but the brewery does a very good job. Had several excellent brews here after an evening at World Showcase @ EPCOT: an excellent wheat beer, a tart, but not too sweet, key lime ale, and a serviceable light lager. Reasonably priced if you are used to big city breweries, definitely less expensive than most of the lesser beers @ EPCOT. Attentive staff at the partitioned bar, all right @ The Boardwalk Resort. Recommended!
Had a 6pm reservation for 8. They accommodated our request to sit outside when we arrived. Great view and atmosphere outside. Inside had a musty smell to it. Staff was great all around! Our server Amanda was awesome. We had 4 kids at 1 table and she ensured they were taken care of so the adults could enjoy our time. Nachos were pretty basic, but entrees were all solid-fish tacos, ribs, chicken sandwich and a salad with salmon. The Double IPA they brew is great too
Came here for lunch at my stay at Disney. Stopped by because I saw they had Nachos. The best nachos EVER!!!! I got the beef ones and they were delicious. The food was amazing. Also, my server Tony was the best. He was so nice, and was a hustler! He was the best! Awesome service and food. If you’re on the boardwalk, ask for Tony! I loved it here and don’t have anything negative to say at all. :)
The food and drink was absolutely incredible, the burger was cooked perfectly and the selection of craft beers were all also fantastic. On top of that, our server Joe was amazing, he was knowledgeable and gave us a good few laughs. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Disney.
The Pub-grilled sandwich was by far the BEST chicken sandwich I have ever had in my life. Everything mixed together perfectly and tasted like heaven itself and was well cooked. Our waiter Joe was pretty cool too. The service was fast and all the employees were nice.
My family got rained out because of the incoming hurricane, so we needed a place to eat that was close. We were staying at the Boardwalk. Our waiter Joe went above and beyond by serving us for our needs as we were a big group in a bar setting. He was able to get us an extra table when we needed it (the restaurant was packed). He was also able to get tea for us as well. He also gave me a free sample of their beverages there. Highly recommended because of the service!
Big River Grille & Brewery is a good choice if you do not have reservations anywhere else. I found the food and decor uninspiring. Burgers were decent, but only came with kettle chips. It reminded me of airport restaurant: nothing special, decent food, not somewhere I look forward going to in the future. Lacking Disney "magic". Beer selection was good. Kid-friendly. Pretty view and great people-watching if you can get an outside table. Recommended only if you can't get in anywhere else.
Ate here recently with some friends and it was a good experience. We were a relatively large group (7) and were able to be sat immediately without a reservation mid afternoon for lunch. The table was a little small for our group size, but our food was good. I enjoyed the chicken quesadilla which was freshly made and flavorful. My husband enjoyed the club sandwich which had lots of meat (and butter) and was served with chips. It was a nice place to sit down with no reservation but not the best food at Disney. Prices were reasonable, $12.50 for the quesadilla and $14 for the club sandwich, on par with most grille prices.
Our server was VERY friendly! The menu consists of burgers and the like and are priced as you would expect for a restaurant at Disney. The food was good and came out in pretty good time. My party didn’t try any of the beers, but I hear they are good. The restaurant itself is very plain and doesn’t do much in the area of theming and decoration. To my surprise the men’s restroom was very dirty and appeared to be neglected for some time.
We had a beer at the bar while waiting on our to go order. The Coco Cream Stout was excellent. The Quesadilla was good. Thankfully, the scredded chicken was neither dry not tough. The chicken sandwich was good. We also had a cheeseburger. The buns on both sandwiches were a bit average and unimpressive. Service was a bit rough, but I understand with it being their last night in business. We enjoyed watching the NFL playoff game on the big screens with the family sports bar environment.
Food was good, I ended up getting the brewery nachos with steak & chicken added. You get a lot of nachos for the price! The menu otherwise is your standard American bar food. It depends what you're looking for. Service was great. Outdoor seating had a longer wait so we opted for indoor which ended up being just a couple minutes wait (lunch time on a Thursday). Our waitress was friendly and very attentive to our needs. Atmosphere is just alright. It's very basic bar style inside, the patio is probably the better place to sit for an experience especially being at the boardwalk. It just was a little disappointing considering it's on a Disney property, I was expecting something a little more.
Lovely brew pub on Disney's Boardwalk. Great assortment of beers that rotate seasonally. Food is fresh and delicious. Indoor and outdoor seating with fantastic views of the Yacht and Beach Club as well as the Boardwalk. The service is excellent as well.
It’s convenient if you’re staying in the swan, dolphin, or boardwalk hotels at Disney. It’s probably one of the better restaurants that are open before 5pm. Food is ok. Beer flight was nice. Has outdoor seating.

I enjoy this place. They have some good beers and food is always good. I have been there a few times and the service has always been very good. I am a fan of just sitting at the bar to grab a bite to eat and a beer. The decor is a little outdated, but that didn't bother me.
Haven’t been here for years but remembered they have great ribs. Was able to get in last minute and wife ordered the chicken Mac and cheese and really enjoyed it. I ate my first half rack of ribs and they were some of the best I have ever had. The bones came out completely clean and the spicy bbq sauce was great. Started the second half and they were cold. I’m not talking they cooled while I was eating but out of the cooler cold. I sent it back and they made another one and it wasn’t especially hot. This would have been a 5 star had I received hot food but then I also had to question the cooking method.
Located in Disney Springs, on the boardwalk next to the lake.. and also includes seating outside. This place typically has low ratings, and seems to have a bad history. Expect average customer service here, nothing above and beyond, but nothing negative. Expect above average prices, and you will pay more for food. However I got the California Chicken Sandwich, and I think It tasted great. Overall, I wouldn't mind stopping by this place every so often.
Love this restaurant, we go every year when we are at Disney. The outdoor seating is great and we really like the food. The crab dip is one of our favorite. We love that it’s not a fancy place but more of a friendly relaxed atmosphere.
Get the Beer Cheese Soup! Our experience was we had an exceptional wait staff who was very pleasant and on the ball. The Cajun Pasta is very creamy, the shrimp was good and the sausage was good. But it misses that New Orleans kick, needs some more spice and cracked pepper to kick it up. The Pub Grilled sandwich was very good, if your in the mood you'll be pleased. We felt everything was cooked well, the interior doesn't look like a diner to us and try to snag a outdoor seating to enjoy that amazing view! The view inside is still good.
While it was quite difficult to get a reservation any where on such short notice, we were able to get one here. While it did take a few minutes to get seated it wasn't a problem and when we did our server was quite prompt in getting our orders. I had the Big Brew cheeseburger and it was quite good. It was interesting that this place didn't offer fries as a side but not a big deal at all. Our burgers were quite good and not dried out while the amount of sides was perfect. Overall it was a pleasant experience.
It was ok. Stopped for lunch. Really wanted a good burger. Surprisingly, I've yet to find a good burger in Disney. Anyway, burger was average here too. Wife got fish sandwich, wow, it was really good. Service was good. Our table location sucked. So maybe that contributed to losing a star. Anyway, been there, done that.
Came here for lunch because we wanted something different than what's offered at our hotel. We didn't get very different as we got grilled chicken sandwiches. And a jalapeno chicken meal. There aren't many options for lunch on the boardwalk so we sat here. Nice outdoor seating on the boardwalk and quick service. The food was great and definitely better than the hotel restaurant options. Service is fast and their cheesecake was ok. Slightly better than grocery bought which is decent. Prices are what you expect for Disney restaurants. Probably not a place you go with kids but ok overall.
It's one of dining options at Disney boardwalk. The food is nothing fancy and for it's size it's expensive. They serve their own beer brewed in house. The habanero chicken was dry and the blackened salmon need more seasoning. Both dishes rely too much on sauce instead marinating the protein. The service was friendly and good overall. However for it's price it could use more flavour, presentation and size. Actually I want to give 2.5 but there is no option on Google
I know a lot of places are struggling so we tried to be as patient as possible. it took 20 minutes for us to even be acknowledged. a different server asked if we had been helped and said he'd get our server. it took forever to get drinks and to get our order taken and for food to arrive but the food was really good. We would definitely come back for the food. I had the Mac & Cheese, I wish it had more chicken in it, but it was creamy and seasoned well which a lot of places miss. My husband had the Brewers Club which he liked also. The restaurant inside was very outdated and not what I expected, especially for the price point of the food. It looks like a diner inside and the bathrooms were really gross.
3 stars because we expected more however we did enjoy the meal. Food was all good. Typical main beer styles but nothing really beyond that. No stouts. They did have a key lime beer and a maibock. Service and servers were excellent. No complaint there. Need better atmosphere and seating. More colors and decorations needed. Just blah inside. Really blah. Wish I took pictures to show. Took pictures of the good stuff.
My food was OK, but 3 out of 5 orders at our table were wrong. Both chicken alfredo's came with no alfredo sauce, and for the quesadillas, apparently asking for them to be light on cheese means no cheese at all. Also had to ask and remind the waitress many times before she finally brought water. They did say they were short on staff tonight, but still quite a few things wrong.

This was our second time eating here. The first being about 5 years ago. When we arrived we asked for inside seating. Once we got in, due to the noise, we quickly changed and moved outside. My wife and I ordered the beer flight along with the signature ribeye. My kids ordered a grilled cheese and club sandwich. The beer was great, and according to the kids, the sandwiches were great. The steak was not very good. At a 26.99 price point we felt the quality should have been better. As annual pass holders and DVC members we frequent Disney a lot. If we come back to the Boardwalk, I don’t believe Big River will be on our list of to do’s.
Main entree was great, but the bartender seemed bothered by us for some reason. He was very stiff and not very friendly. The salsa that came with the chips and dip tasted like the jar salsa you buy at the store. The only person who was happy and fun was the guy who brought us our entrees. Everyone looked miserable. The cool part is half the bar faces the entrance door so we were able to sit there and watch people walk by. The unfriendly service makes any place worse though.
Waiter was great. The QR menu was totally different on different phones (Android vs iPhone). Everyone's first pick of beer was sold out, and some even round 2 choices. Food was decent, the only star was the chicken nachos. Very very good.
Service was good as server was very friendly. The salad (cashew chicken) wasnt very tasty. My daughter's burger on the other hand, was pretty good. Beer Tasting was a nice bonus. Overall, nothing too special about the place.
First of all our server was sweet and tried to answer any questions we had before ordering. Our food came fairly quickly even with a celiac accommodation. We both ordered the loaded nachos w/ chicken. They came out fairly dry and very lack luster by appearance and both missing the black beans & the salsa that is listed on the menu (perhaps they had gluten but I don’t have celiac and ordered them normal). As we started to eat and find chips that weren’t small broken pieces finally came to a pile of extremely soggy disgusting lettuce that was at the very BOTTOM of the chips, also NOT listed on the menu as an ingredient/topping. The server was kind enough to bring us some more queso and some plain chips to attempt to salvage the meal. The manager apparently tried to remedy the mishap by applying a discount we were already entitled to receive as a passholder/DVC member. I would suggest for the kitchen to stop adding lettuce at the bottom and if you wanted to liven up the appearance of the nachos to add fresh lettuce on the top for possible color appeal. Fresh lettuce is definitely better than soggy. I was looking forward to trying this out since they finally reopened but this was a bit of a turn-off. 3 stars because the server was attentive and nice and the drinks were actually tasty. I took pictures of this sad meal but doesn’t look like I can post that.
Had a so so experience yesterday dining here with the family. Service felt rushed and it took a long time to get our food and drinks. The burgers were fairly good and a good portion size imo. Cleanliness was not the best. There was some food bits left over around the table and on the carpet. Unfortunately we found out at the end that a party of 5 gets a mandatory 18% gratuity added on to the bill. This is not in line with other Disney restaurants that only add that for parties of 6 or more. What’s more the charge appeared as a “suggested tip”, but waitress clarified it was mandatory. It’s very frustrating when you’re trying to budget and don’t expect that on your bill, and I felt it was high considering the service was not that exceptional and a party of 5 is what I would consider small enough not to warrant the mandatory gratuity charge.
This place had pretty good burgers. However, the place was SO loud you had to scream to each other. It also reeked of a sewer smell the entire time we were there which pretty much made us want to leave as soon as we were seated. Staff were okay.
If this place wasn't on Disney property it would score higher. It's a let down if your expectations are Disney quality. First off it's crazy loud in there. I couldn't hold a conversation easily in our big group. Second, they don't have fryers so nothing is fried. Which isn't necessarily bad, but the chips instead of fries are just basic out of a bag chips. Third, it's very cheap presentation wise. Condiments in packets. Plasticware to drink out of (soda/water). I'm pretty sure it isn't Disney owned, and it shows. Again, not terrible, just not Disney quality or feel.
The food here was delicious however, the service was not great at all. We were seated for over 20 minutes before a server came to us. The server initially was nice but then became rude. My wife did not finish her food and immediately asked her if she didn’t like it with attitude although you could noticeably tell she ate a bit. They also started to give us the wrong bill and I had to stop someone else to get the right one. We will not go back.
The chicken in the chicken quesadilla appetizer we swore looked liked canned chicken! Food was standard bar food, nothing special, the only highlight was our server Tony who was great, accommodating and fast with drink refills. This place is in desperate need of updating: tables and chairs are showing their age and the carpet is truly gross.
Food was not very impressive. My partner ordered a burger medium-rare, and it came out somewhere between medium and well-done. The quesadilla was soggy and did not taste very fresh. The crab dip was okay. We enjoyed that they brewed their own beers, although we weren't too crazy about any of them- this is probably a matter of personal taste. They did have a sour that was interesting.
Hostess was rude! We asked if we could sit outside and she ignored us, then we asked again and she acted like it was a problem and she then sat the next group outside… she was very unpleasant. Server was awesome and food was great, but the hostess’ attitude tainted our experience. Another group we saw asked to sit outside and hostess sad no (no smile, wore sunglasses whole time) and they just got up and said we are and moved themselves. For a Disney employee- not up to par.
Atmosphere here is great, especially if sit outside on the Boardwalk - it is a super relaxing place to enjoy a meal. The service is also excellent - our server saw a nearby table left their credit card and chased them down a long ways away to give it back. All that said - unfortunately the food leaves something to be desired. Chips/salsa/guac tasted like cheap Tostitos & Pace picante with grocery storm guac. Chicken entrees were better, but the chicken was a bit tough. Really wish we had liked the food better because we really liked the spot!
Food: For the appetizer, I got Jalapeno Spinach Dip. The sauce was great. The chips were very salty and a lot of broken chips. I got the meatloaf. It was a little bit salty. The meatloaf didn't really taste like a meatloaf, but it wasn't bad either. I did however enjoyed the veggies, which were cooked to perfection. The mashed potatoes were okay. They were also out of Mac and Cheese. 😔 It was probably their best dish. Will probably have to try it in the future. Service: Our server John was pretty kind and was helpful. He got us our drinks pretty quick. He also took our order pretty quick and refilled our water at the right time. He gave wonderful advices for firework shows. They had seats inside and outside. Location: It was located on the boardwalk and close to everything. Cleanliness: Table was clean. We had all of our utensils. Nothing to comment about.
The food was nice enough, the order got slightly messed up but was quickly rectified. The waiting staff were pleasant. I was disappointed that they had just emptied the last barrel of IPA. This venue’s USP is that they’re the only brew pub in Disney and that it is “truly tank to table” yet they managed to allow their beer to run out, and the selection was limited. Be aware that they do not accept the Disney Dining Plan as payment.
Wasn't that impressed. If you sit outside you get a great view of the boardwalk and a nice breeze in the evening. Service was good, and my waiter was helpful, but the food was a bit below what I was expecting. I had one of the burgers. It was tasty but the lack of fries (they really stand by the 'chips only' rule) definitely took away from what the meal could have been. There are plenty of other places to eat at the boardwalk. I would only come here as a last resort.
Not impressed at all. Women's bathroom out of order. Food was average at best and not even really hot. Beer had a strange tin taste to it, bar area had a strange smell too, not sure what it was. Won't be back....

Totally mediocre food. The nachos were ok, but the club sandwich was piled with mostly ham and very little turkey. The sour dough bread was super soggy and it was just meh. The burger was average. If you’re wanting decent prices for average food, this is the place. A bit disappointing but the kettle chips are a nice touch.
Not a good experience...... Paid $10 for boxed Kraft Mac and cheese for two of my boys. It was so cold in the restaurant our food was cold when it arrived. My burger was ok, not great not terrible. Also, no fries here only potato chips, like out of the bag potato chips. Got the wheat ale, nothing memorable there either. We'll find a different place to eat next time we're here.
Credit for bringing out our meal on two plates, as we share most entrees and meals. As well a a mostly friendly waiter. The rest of the staff seemed offended we were taking up the space in their restaurant, and splitting our meal. Food was relatively bland compared to the high quality meals we have been eating the last few nights. It wasn't bad by any means but didn't seem much compared to what I could cook at home with some bottles sauce. Suggest walking to the Swan and Dolphin to eat at the Fountain Restaurant instead.
Service was prompt but the ribeye although cooked well comes with a pile of over cooked frozen veg Inedible at best and ruined what would have been a pleasant plate. you pay a premium for eating there and you expect a better product Place was a little untidy and could do with standards being that of the other locations on the property
We sat outside and the view is very pleasant looking at the Disney hotels across the water. Inside it is just very noisy and without any charm whatsoever. The service was good. As a vegetarian, I had almost no choice from the menu. What I did get seemed like it had been sitting under a hot lamp for a long time - it was awful. My wife's non-vegetarian meal was unappetizing as well. We ate there the first day we arrived, and although we stayed three weeks, we never went back.
I've been to other Big River locations through the years so I thought I knew what to expect. Throw in the location at Disney's Boardwalk and it seemed like a good choice. However, it was very lacking. The servers were attentive, pleasant, and helpful though the location feels very cramped and thrown together. The food on this visit left quite a lot to be desired. We started with chips, salsa, and guacamole. The guacamole seemed pretty fresh but was very bland. My Habanero Chicken was grilled nicely and the toppings were generally good. The rice, on the other hand was bland and basically mush. The vegetables were so-so. My companion ordered the Blackened Fish Tacos. They came with the same mush masquerading as rice. The worst thing was that you could not even taste the fish for the volume of blackening. It was basically a blackening taco. Hopefully we experienced an anomaly.
We eat here yesterday and were saddened by the quality of food and overall cleanliness. We had frequent Big River pre COVID-19 and highly rated it across the board. We had a late lunch the server was great. We ordered a burger and a chicken sandwich. The food came quicker than our beers. They were not fresh but quickly reheated. The burger was dry and the chicken over cooked and tasteless. I would recommend their beers but won't be eating here anytime soon.
I mean I give it 2 star because the i love the severs and the food it just y’all need to check if there hair in it. The first time there was hair in the nachos and they take it back and give us a new one. The next time we went there a Oder the same thing and got the hair and then someone i know had hair on the boat if there sandwich and that person was about to eat it. I don’t know if where going back but the food is still delicious and the Service. Im never coming here again and I bet they don’t even use hair nets
This place used to be pretty good, but on my recent visit, the food was poorly executed. The service was good; but I wouldn’t eat here again. I ordered salad and the lettuce had no flavor; the Caesar dressing also had no flavor and the piece of salmon that adorned the top looked like half of it was left on the grill. It was clear that I was unhappy and the server tried to make it right: he brought me a Cobb salad that was definitely better, but again, even with all of those ingredients and blue cheese dressing to go with the blue cheese crumbles: flavorless. My wife had a spicy chicken entree. The chicken was a little over cooked, not terribly though. The vegetables were very sad. Steamed to death with no butter or seasoning. Poor little guys never got a chance.
Legit 1 star except for the typically really good service. No idea how this is still open. Start with the fact that when you walk inside it stinks like wet dog. I ordered Mac and cheese. It was watery. It has bread crumbs per menu. But they either were not there or soggy and mixed in. There was unmelted cheese. Really nasty. The burger my wife got wasn’t good. The burger in magic kingdom that was a hockey puck was better. Highly recommend you go somewhere else.
Had a longer than wait than normal which was understandable due to the weather. The server was great and tried to help us with our hungry kids. Now the food… there is no way on earth we will ever go back there. All of the food is straight from a bag or frozen. Kids mac and cheese is craft from a box. The salsa was clearly grocery store bought from a jar. Chips were Tostitos. Guacamole from a can at Costco. Chicken on salad and in quesadilla from a bag. Everything had that type of feel to it. Disappointing after a wait and I’m sure the beer is fine. Don’t go if you want a decent meal.
Not very accommodating. I was already told that the food was mediocre but decided to try for myself. When we arrived, I apologized that our group was larger. Not even the first issue. I had reserved a standard table. She claimed she could not tell what was reserved and we had a high top. Not acceptable with an infant. Regardless of my 2 addition, they were not apologetic for not having the correct systems in place. Then, I tried to tack on a 40 min wait to change tables, which was their fault. 6 to 8 just means adding to chairs on the end. They wouldnt be an issue. The customer service was appalling. They clearly need training cause an apology was warranted. Maybe I would been more accepting but after being told by several people that the food is meh and then the front house staff has attitude, I walked away. If I could give 0 stars, I would.
This is by far the worst "restaurant" I have been to. Nothing on the menu was prepared in the kitchen. The mac and cheese is Kraft mac and cheese.. they don't have French fries.. rather they open a bag of lays potato chips.. The Kobe burger was a microwave patty that came on a cold bun. Denny's is better because at least they try. This place is also not cheap. What a waist! ... and the carpet stinks.. Jeasus clean the carpet..
8:45 PM reservation for a party of 4. Waited 30 minutes for a table inside. Placed our order at 9:20 PM and our food didn’t arrive until 10:10 PM with a restaurant being half full. I ordered the burger medium and my first burger came out raw. Sent it back to be heated up. Took 15 minutes. Second burger came back and still raw. Refused anymore attempts from the kitchen. Beer is mediocre, their lager taste exactly like a bud light. This place has really gone downhill. Don’t waste your time or money at this place.
Extremely disappointed that this restaurant is on Disney Property. The food and service is terrible. After sitting down at a table we waited 20 minutes for a server to take our drink order, we should have left then. Our food and appetizer came out at the same time which should never happen. We ordered the chips and salsa with guac and the chips were something similar to a bag of tostitos, even worse the salsa was from a jar, not worth $9 in my opinion. All I ordered for dinner was a chicken cobb salad, I thought I was safe. I was wrong, the salad and dressing was flavorless and the produce was bad. I took a couple bites and asked the server for our check, she didn't even ask if she could bring me something else instead. The meal was a complete waste of money and I will NEVER go back. Also, their beer sucks!
The menu here cannot be smaller. There is barely anything you can get here. I got the salmon and I tell you I could’ve got a salmon from the grocery store. It would’ve tasted three times better if I cooked it from a homemade campfire. For being at a Disney Resort, the only good thing it has going, for it is views, but my salmon took me out of the view.
Drinks are great! But the food is not that great! Don’t order the Mac and cheese grilled chicken. Sucks! The cheese was so water down it was like soup. The table next to us had a delicious burger, but the other had pasta dish as well and it looked like a can of tomato soup.
Really disappointed for a Disney property restaurant. A terrible smell when you walk in the door, restaurant is stuffy and stale, restrooms not clean. For a brewery, the beer was limited, and both beers we tried were bad. One tasted like it was skunked or the lines were not clean. We were also told there was no bartender so we couldn’t get a mixed drink, but we could see and hear someone working at the bar. The food is just ok, not worth the price. We won’t go back, and there are many other Disney restaurants that are much better.
To say the food here was worthy of the one star that Google obligatorily makes you provide is going way beyond what this place deserves. I'll start with the service. There were four people at the door greeting patrons and while they were pleasant enough, they might have been better off helping out what appeared to be the lone server inside. Our waitress was nice but totally oblivious of any dissatisfaction from her customers. She had a very Stepford way about her as she made her way around the too many tables she had to deal with. She was very polite and happy to be there but was totally deaf to my complaints of the low quality food. She asked how my meal was and as I began to convey my disappointment, she cut me off to offer me a to-go box. What can I say about the food that would accurately paint a picture in one's mind of exactly what this swill was like. Since this was a restaurant outside of the theme parks I figured the quality would be better than inside. I've gotten better food and Cosmic Ray's in the Magic Kingdom. My wife and myself both ordered the Big Brew Cheeseburger and it only took one bite to realize there was no way I was going to be wanting another one. I can only imagine that the performer at a Tijuana Donkey Show is the only person on the planet who could relate to my sadness and displeasure of what was going on in my mouth. Needless to say I will never be going back to Big River or anywhere else at Disney's Boardwalk Inns.
Honestly I'm glad this place shut down. They had the same exact beers all the time. They never change them at all. They had the same beers on Tab that they did a decade ago, that nobody wants because they aren't any good. They refuse to change up their menu at all, and the prices just kept getting higher and higher. I heard it was Under New Management as of a year or two ago. We came for New Years Eve because they advertised a big concert happening inside, but when we got there they said they were sold out because there were no more seats left. Have you ever heard of standing room? I guess they don't like making money. We went elsewhere. All in all I can totally see why this place is closing down and nobody goes there anymore. Good.
Went for late lunch. Had the fish sandwich. It was dry and tasteless. Another meal was the kids meal cheese burger. It was over cooked, dried and stale. The accompanying fruit was awful, mushy and turning bad. Third meal was California chicken. The chicken was tasteless but the sauce was good. The server was adequate. The atmosphere was so loud we could hear each other talk. The food presentation was cafeteria quality. We have gone to Disney for 7 years eating in most levels of restaurants at resorts and parks. This was the worst restaurant we have eaten in all of our Disney experiences. Very disappointing.
By far the worst place to eat at Disney, especially for the price. I opted for the Cajun pasta, my brother got the Mac and cheese. Both noodle dishes were waaay over cooked, the water thr noodles were boiled in was definitely not seasoned, so in total the noodles were a bland mushy mess. The front of house there were chatting away with each other and couldn't care less about guests waiting on them to help with reservations. Our waiter messed up our order, rarely visited our table and was a little bit rude. The spinach dip was just a microwaved thing with tortilla chips that came from the store. The beer was decent. It would have been a little bit easier to swallow if the price wasn't so extremely high. Definitely better places to eat at WDW.
the worst Mac and cheese I have ever encountered. I would be embarrassed to have the item on my menu. It was removed from our bill with the comment from the waitress - my manager said it did look really dry. bacon cheeseburger was underwhelming - small, dry, cold, small piece of warm wilted lettuce and tomato. Apparently onion is too exotic to be included. The bun was just shy of stale. Grocery store potato chips are the side. they do not have another option. Catsup comes in a handful of fast food packets dropped on the table. The table was so unstable it literally wobbled at least 3 inches back and forth. We jammed it up against the wall so we could set our beverages down. Partner ordered the club which was surprisingly nice looking, thick, buttered, well-grilled toast that was empty inside. With two cocktails each, our bill was just over $100 (!) before tip. Reserve a table here at your own risk. You have been warned.
Big River Grille = the worst restaurant we dined in on a recent tip to Orlando. I was in town for a work conference staying at the Disney Yacht Club. Needing a break from the hotel food and avoiding the dining options in Epcot, we decided to try Big River Grille a go. Yelp told us to stay away, but we decided to see for ourselves. Yep, STAY AWAY. We had a large group and the hostess made it very clear she was not happy to serve us. She was rude. Even as she handed us off to the waiter, he was equally rude and not welcoming. We struggled to find something to order, but settled on a salad and the hazelnut encrusted chicken. The salad was worse than any grocery store salad kit and the hazelnut chicken had two giant dried prunes on the top (what the heck?!). It would have been a little better if the prices were low, but the chicken was $17+ and it was the worst chicken I've ever had. If you need a good meal and this is your only option, you're better off going without food.
Overrated!! First of all, we looked at the menu online as we had a picky eater and a vegetarian among our dining group. We get to the restaurant and we discover that the website hasn’t been updated in YEARS. Nothing online was on the current menu. So when we sat down, they gave us ONE MENU for the entire table. So that means we couldn’t take our time deciding what we wanted because we all had to hurry up and pass the menu to the next person. For the vegetarian option, our diner ended up selecting an appetizer that was basically a little bowl of cheese dip and mostly tortilla chips. Not worth the $11+ dollars that it cost. One of our diners didn’t even eat. Two of our diners ordered sweet tea. The waiter said no problem. (He told us he knew that menu backwards and forwards). He comes back with waters and tells us that they don’t make sweet tea. A minute ago he just told us he knew every item on that menu, but apparently he couldn’t remember that they don’t have sweet tea. The only reason we ate there was because we had already waited over an hour to be seated. When we first got there we said we wanted to dine inside. They told us there would be a bit of a wait and we agreed to that. However, when they finally texted us an hour later that our table was ready, they ended up seating us outside. That wasn’t what we asked for. Overall I left hungry and disappointed. Will NOT be eating there again. You would think that they would at least keep an updated menu online as people are literally traveling here from all over the world and people like to look online so they can plan ahead. Not at this restaurant. Don’t waste your time. Mediocre food at best. Not worth it.
This was our first time eating at the Boardwalk. I am so surprised with the poor quality of food being on Disney property. Don't get me wrong, the service wasn't bad, our waiter was friendly and the food came out fast. We ordered the Spinach Jalapeno Dip with chips and it tasted like it came out of a jar. From the description, we expected a fresh warm dip with actual spinach and jalapenos, similar to a spinach and artichoke dip. After tasting it, it was so bad that we asked for salsa and guacamole instead (we were going to ask for nachos instead but found out they use the same sauce). The guac was good but the salsa tasted like tostitos. For less than $10 I could have went to a gas station and bought the chips and salsa. The burger was okay, but not as described. We ordered the Bacon Cheeseburger that was supposed to have a BBQ Jalapeno Ranch sauce and you could barely taste any of those flavors. Our experience with their food is that it was extremely over priced, for that price the sandwiches should at least include French fries and taste like they are described. We are annual passholders with Disney and always felt their food was priced very fair throughout the parks and resorts. This place was not what we were expecting. We didn't try the beer, but the food is not worth your time. Update** it is the next day and my husband was sick all morning and couldn't sleep all night. I had stomach problems all day as well. I wish we read the reviews before deciding to try this place out. It seems like others have a had a similar experience. We also saw the dip at Stop and Shop that was similar to their "Jalapeno Spinach Dip" its Tostitos Queso Blanco dip. If you don't like that, don't try it.
I only gave 1 star. #1 because you can’t give 0 and #2 because out waiter was amazing. It’s my 21st birthday and We wanted a quick bite to eat and it spells like puke I could not even eat. I asked why it smelt like puke and the workers were so disrespectful. I hope they pay to get rid of this review because someone is finally honest. If Oliver was not our waiter I would have walked out.
Let me start by saying that our server was outstanding. Beyond that stay away! The food made my wife and 1 year old sick. They ordered a hot dog for the baby and a the wagyu burger for the wife. Both were fine after throwing up. There’s no question about that it was this food that made them sick they had not eaten anything else that day.
This is usually one of my favorite restaurants on property, but today was absolutely terrible. The beer cheese soup was off. I didn't get the right cheese on my burger. The worst part was that, my burger, came out completely raw. Everyone is allowed off days, but to totally fumble everything is ridiculous.
Service was severely lacking. I appreciate they gave us a same day reservation for 7 people, though now it’s clear why it was able to be booked. We booked an indoor table and had to sit outside. We dealt with that, and were that the only issue it wouldn’t have been so bad. But the service… to start with, they forgot multiple items. I ordered a Cobb salad with salmon and was served a salad with no protein on it. About 5 min later, and only after I said something, half a piece of salmon arrived. The drinks took forever to come out. I ordered a second beer and never got it. Two of the kids ordered extra ranch and they only brought one. I could tolerate all that, but there was never any apology, which is inexcusable and the epitome of rudeness in my opinion. We also waited ages for the check. The food? Meh. Extremely average and not worth the poor service and attitude. If I could give zero stars I would.
Low quality cold food. Nachos made from crushed chips with no burger or lettuce. Burger was precooked and on stale bun. Cheese wasn't even melted. When I pointed out problems to manager she took an attitude. Very snotty. Waitress was great. This was our fifth and last visit to this establishment. Manager didnt seem to care.
So we were in an unusual time crunch so we ended up here due to no wait… we may now know why… I’ll start with the good. It was available when we needed it… its location is nice if you are not in a park. And the service we got was pleasant. Unfortunately the place is dated… if you can sit outside, do it. Inside smells like dated bar pads… saying that nicely. The food may be the worst on Disneys property… the veggies and rice are cheap frozen bag kind. They aren’t even warmed or seasoned well. The proteins are not any better. If you are thirsty be patient. The glasses are as small as they get… your best bet might be stick to the burgers and chips…
Quoted a 30 minute wait. Finally seated after and hour 15. Hostess was rude and seemed uninterested in providing service. Our server Ashton was quick to get drinks and friendly. That was the only highlight of the night. The chips were stale the salsa was store bought. The wagyu burger was not seasoned at all, but was cooked correct. The avocado in the salad was sour and the salad was wilted. The kids Mac and cheese was craft. Beers selection is mid and tasted okay but certainly bottom of the keg. Will not return.
