What an EXCELLENT meal! Our server Malena was so friendly and welcoming. She made a few recommendations that were absolutely delicious. We had the shrimp ceviche, Ensenada fish tacos, as well as a shrimp, kraken and surf&turf taco. I especially loved the cilantro rice that came with my taco plate. YUM!
These fish tacos really are the best in the high desert! So delicious, generous portions and the service is amazing.

Food: Their Galley Style and Blackened Fish is highly recommend. Everything came out really tasty. Worked very well with their different salsa sauces. Service: Our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and made great recommendations. Ambiance: The place has that diner feel. Plenty of seating and screens for watching games. Value: Prices were reasonable for the quality of food and service. Servings were huge.
This is the best fish and chips I've had in the high desert, though my first visit was on a weeknight. Upon returning, on a weekend night, I got a waitress who disappointed on service. My wife asked for the chipotle sauce, that comes on the tacos, to be on the side, instead she didn't get any chipotle sauce, that was just one of the problems. We won't be returning unless it's during the week, that seems to be when we get the best service.
I’ve seen that big freeway sign that just says “Fish Tacos” a hundred times, and I finally stopped in — glad I did! The place has a fun, laid-back vibe with a little bench for takeout and even a bar if you want to hang out for a beer and some tacos. I turned their fish taco into a shrimp burrito, fish-taco style — totally off-menu — and they made it exactly how I wanted, no fuss at all. They even gave me the stuff I didn’t want inside on the side, in full portions. Great food, friendly people, and awesome service!
I have been coming here for a few years, and the food is consistently delicious. Everything from the potato tacos to the steak tacos is so good, and the fillings are generous. They have tasty sauces and salsa, and the service is always excellent. Also, the prices are reasonable.
We are new to the area and wanted to try the local eateries. We stopped here at Captains Fish Tacos on a whim and are so glad we did. The food was excellent. We had the shrimp ceviche, surf and turf tacos and blackened fish tacos. All were amazing. The black beans and cilantro rice were incredible. Our server, Alejandra, was super friendly and attentive. We will be regulars here for sure.
Have been driving past the "Fish Tacos" sign on the 15 hundreds of times & assumed it was a simple Taco shop. Last night The Momma suggested checking it out & while not a fan of Fish Tacos I reluctantly agreed & glad we did. It's a full service restaurant with a variety for foods including ribeyes (one of my favorite food groups). I had the Surf & Turf fries & TM had the fish tacos & were stuffed. Service was very friendly & prompt and while they were busy there no waiting on a Friday night. We will be returning.
Have driven by every day for a couple of years and finally gave it a try. Should have checked it out a long time ago. This place is awesome. Huge tacos. Healthy portion of guacamole for the chips. Solid cocktail. Super friendly service. Definitely check this place out.

Captain’s Fish Taco is our go-to spot whenever we’re craving fish tacos! My personal favorites are the Galley Style and the Blackened Fish Taco — both are flavorful, fresh, and always satisfying. The service is fast, the staff is friendly, and even the bathrooms are clean, which is always a plus. The only minor downside? It was really cold inside during our visit — probably just me, but next time I’ll bring a cardigan! 😄 Overall, a great local spot with consistently good food and a chill vibe. We’ll definitely keep coming back!
Decided to stop here on our way North up 395 and we were very thankful we did! We got two plates of Ensenada and blackened fish tacos. Some of the best fish tacos we have ever had, big pieces of fish and we have had fish tacos all over the world. We almost went back for more but decided to go with the fried ice cream. Again delicious! Great presentation and quantity. Our waitress was very nice and super attentive! Highly recommend! Will return every time we come through this way!
Perfect place for date night or a last-minute dinner idea for the family. Their food is phenomenal and fresh. Their drinks are not watered down 🥴, so please bring a designated driver. The service was amazing and made us feel welcomed. If you have not been here, you should at least try it once, especially when the craving hits for some delicious seafood. You won't regret it.
The service is great evert time I’ve come in , the oysters are a hit & miss but the tacos!! Are phenomenal 👌🤭 steak//potato/grilled shrimp ugh so delish and the medium salsa is yummm also, the aguachillies is spicy but yummy as well!
One of the heaviest burrito around ! And tasty too ! This was a surf and turf variety with crispy fried shrimp which added a nice surprise crunch in every bite. Buddy had tacos and they looked good too. Next time ! Bathroom was super clean.
Finally decided to try this place! What a great find in HD! Love the tacos especially the Ensenada and Grilled Shrimp tacos. Also highly recommend the grilled fish with capers and cilantro rice. The Kraken (octopus) ceviche is not too bad. Would definitely come back agan!🤗

Good food. Came to try the fish tacos, but I saw the Surf n Turf fries on the menu and decided to try those. The fries reminded me of the long weekend nights of consuming an unhealthy amount of alcohol then going to a taco joint and ordering Carne Asada Fries. Good flavor all around. The only thing I would have liked done differently is for the shrimp to get a hard sear on the outside so they are slightly crispy. Paired my meal with a well-balanced michelada.

I ordered the grilled fish taco with beans & rice. Then I was informed that they do not have a grill top only a flat skillet!? So they have to use oil, which i agreed to, but when they brought the taco it smelled bad and tasted even worse!!! It was not only old but they tried to cook it till it was fish jerky!!!! I will say this the beans and cilantro rice were really good 👍 too bad the bad fish ruined it!
I don’t understand people. All of the raving reviews had me thinking I was really about to have some good food! It was awful. The fish and chips the fish was chewy and it tasted like crap like it had been fried in 3 month old grease. Disgusting! The beans and rice were plain no real flavor. The coleslaw absolutely awful! The best thing in the whole place was the guacamole! I’ve had way better and more authentic Mexican food in Tennessee.
