They got a very convenient location, right next to laundromat. That's how I ended up eating there for the first time. I had no idea what to get, but the stuff was very helpful. Portions are pretty big,tasty and filling. I go there almost every time I wait for my close to dry :) .

This place is no joke. I have been dying to go here since I seen there posts on Instagram. The food here is soooooo delicious and I will definitely be back. Everything is made to order which is a huge plus. The fish tacos were mind blowing. You can taste how fresh the fish was.I brought the food back to my buddies house and everything was still hot. When you eat this food, you will taste the love and effort they put into everything they make. Oh and they serve everything with a smile.

Finally checked this great place out. Staff was friendly, it was clean and the atmosphere was energetic and positive. I got the fish tacos and instead of going with my norm of some basic veg in them at the suggestion of the beautiful, friendly chickie behind the counter I opted for the pickled cabbage slaw and chipotle sauce along with a side of rice and peas. Next time i'll stay to eat just to enjoy the vibe but today i picked up and brought back to work. I was very happy with everything. Fish was tasty the rice was on point. I will be back for sure. Give this place a shot if your looking for an all around pick me up to your day :) Mexican / Puerto Rican Fusion of yummy goodness!

I absolutely love this place, I have gotten like 35 of my coworkers hooked on it at ALKU. Ray is the man and the food does not disappoint. Some of the best Hispanic food I have ever had highly recommend. I also buy their homemade hot sauce by the bottle.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Coco Ray's Mexican - Puerto Rican food, and I have to say, it was a fantastic experience! The restaurant has a cozy and inviting atmosphere that immediately put me at ease. The food at Coco Ray's is simply outstanding. Best place for a taco bowel, another reason i love this place is that i work in the mental health field my Clients can't enter a restaurant or a store only drive thru, And coco rays has several times made deliverys to my van outside there store. Stumbled upon this place while in a serious mood for Mexican/Latin. Empanadas, papusas, tacos, tortas, tostones—their menu went on and I was sold. I ordered the deep-fried haddock taco, veggie burrito, and guava empanada, and my boyfriend had the pastor burrito (with pinapple marinated pork, yum). Everything was so fresh and delicious that we ended up housing all of it in one sitting. Kudos to Coco Rays for an amazing food experience. Can't wait to go back and try more of the menu.

Great Puerto Rican/ Mexican. The rice and beans are very good, love the sweet plantains, too. We had pernil, one of 4 kinds of pork on the menu, and veggies and chicken. All delicious and affordable.

This is a restaurant that looks like a hole in the wall. But there burrito and alcapurias are the best. My cousin took me here and i had driven by like a 100 times. There juices are just like Puerto Rico.

After first hearing about this place in the newspaper it has been my new burrito spot. I recommend adding the guacamole. The food has always tasted great and very fresh.

This place is awesome! Been coming here regularly for lunch for a couple years now. Quick, and always tasty. The only thing I would improve is I wish there was a vegetarian protein option for the burrito bowls (plantains or guac or cheese) or that the veggie option was cheaper. I'm not always in the mood to have meat in my bowl but it currently doesn't make sense to order without meat from a cost perspective.

I absolutely LOVEEE this place. I have been a fan of them since they were a test kitchen and to see them in a stable location and thriving makes me so happy! The tacos are FIRE but their burrito bowls but chipotle AND Qdoba to shame. The chicken is so tender and flavorful and the rice is always cooked to perfection. The inside is small but very charming and the only WILL remember you after a few trips in. If you’re looking for authentic tastes and a place that isn’t afraid to kick up the spice (upon request 😅) then def give this a shot!

They're not lying... This place makes the best tacos I've had in town. Authentic, and delicious. The food is always very good ,and fresh. The owner/manager is a nice guy. You can find him taking orders and cooking alongside his employees. This is a fast paced kitchen. Its best if you take a look at the menu online prior to ordering to keep things running smoothly. I highly recommend this place to anyone seeking quality authentic food. I will absolutely continue to spread the word! Very happy with this place!

STOPPPPP if I could give this place 10 stars I would!! By far some of the best food I’ve had is SO long. I got the Borria Jilbarito, a pastelitos and a Guanabana. Literally everything was amazing! If I had half a clue how to cook like this I would never got out to eat again. The owner is the one who handed me my food and said I was going to love the juice and it was his favorite. He was absolutely right I wish I knew how they made that!! I wish I took a picture of everything. I love their birria tacos but it depends on who’s making them that day. The owner and one other guy makes them amazing I usually get 4 orders every time I go and the guy even asked my fiancé why does he get so many lol but it’s because I love them, we polish off two orders each. Only thing I don’t like is the inconsistency with portion control, one day my tacos will be nice and full and hot and another they are so crispy they stab the sides of my cheeks and I have a baby so on those days poor girl can’t have any, other than that we love this place and I’m still going to continue to show up every weekend like I have been! I will never go anywhere else for birria tacos I just wish they wouldn’t over cook the corn tortilla sometimes

So I was in the area and got a recommendation for CocoRay's! So I headed over and decided to try a few items on the menu. Three tacos one two steak and one pork. I told them to put everything on it! The red hot sauce is fire! I'm telling you as I ate I could feel the love in the food. I almost stood up and did a little Salsa and Huapango dance at the same time. The service was amazing too all the staff were very helpful. Don't forget grab a Parcha or Horchata. I bought both and the beverages are made in house too. They weren't too sweet. I got the birria ramen to go which I haven't tried yet! If you are in the area you have to give it a try. I'll be back soon to try the Torta. Lastly, I almost forget the tostones. Amazing place!

When they say best tacos in town, they mean it. I've never had pico de Gallo so good, and their marinated pork is supremely delicious. Other menu items are also great, including the burritos and loaded french fries. Highly recommend getting food from here for any occasion.

I eat at so many different types of taco places around the state small mom and pop to chain restaurants with all the bells and whistles. This is still the best tacos you can get. I’ve had tacos at other places that put so much different ingredients shells mixed with soft two different cheeses, Mango blah blah... NONE can even beat a simple steak, cilantro and onion mini taco from here. The shakes are great as well. As far as the best in town I don’t think so... probably the best in the Essex county or state

Delicious, authentic and affordable food. Proper tacos are meant to be delicious, simple and cheap. This place hits that mark and so much more. My GF grew up on the west coast and in Texas. She's convinced that real taquerias don't exist in New England. After years, this place is the first place to finally pass her standard.

Fantastic food in a great atmosphere. The owner is great and super friendly. Coming from Houston, where tacos and Tex-Mex are great and plentiful, this place was way better. If your looking for authentic style food, give this place a try. You won’t be disappointed.

I went back this time with a few friends and we all loved our dining experiences again the food was so amazing we ended up ordering to go plates. This us truly an amazing place thumbs-up and I hope alot more people go and enjoy coco ray's they have something or more for everybody and the staff is very friendly and great all around people give them a try if your ever in the area or like me don't mind long drives to eat good.

I was a little annoyed at first because when I went to checkout the guy apologized and said they were having some kind of glitch and I'd unfortunately be charged a little more than the listed prices. That quickly changed when I took the first bite of my food. Two meals and a drink was still under $20. 10/10 would definitely recommend.

Updated review 5/3: I have done many take out orders but the last 3 times they haven’t followed the order notes. I cannot eat mayonnaise and have written it multiple times, and my tostadas still come with mayo. I’ve also noticed the quality has gone down a little on the pork. Not sure I will continue to order here. Original: I’ve done take out a few times and the food is always fresh and delicious. Great portions and reasonable prices. Their pork tostadas are my favorite!

Great service, good food & good juices. Definitely check this place out! It’s a like a Caribbean chipotle but better. I wish I had pictures of the food I got but I had to give them a great review before I forget. For vegetarian options I get a veggie bowl, a tostada and a quesadilla loaded with everything they have that’s veggie.

This is a small restaurant with big tasty food. Picked up lunch from here, and the food came out quick. There are about 5 tables if you do want to it in. I loved the shrimp quesadilla. There were plenty of options to choose from.

I love a good spot with good food. This establishment is one of my go-to ever since they’ve been in business. They started out as a food truck and now they are located here! You won’t regret it 😋 the dish you see is called papa loca and it was so good

Nice place mostly for pick up. Not so much for sit-in. Pleasant customer service. Nice amount of choices for add-ons. Food a little pricey for little place like that (don’t know the reason, maybe very good quality products). I find that they have price of a nice sit in restaurants and the quantity is much less by over 70% (for the item I obtained). I did enjoyed the food, customer service was great, and the place was clean.

The chorizo was very good. The beef, chicken, and guacamole was okay. The chips were cold and old. The prices were confusing and a bit misleading. One price was shown for "tacos" then there was an additional charge for chorizo and another charge for cheese , which was not indicated in any way on the menu. My meal ended up being quite a bit more than the menu led me to believe it would be, but not ridiculously so.

Birria Tacos are the best around. I love this place and support it wholeheartedly. The 2 star review is because I got hair in my food yesterday and when I called to let them know they lied and said they all wear hair nets and didnt take responsibility for the poor quality control on this issue. Hair in food is gross. You dont know how clean someone elses head and hair is and having it in your food is nasty. Having the employee lie and say hairnets are work just made it worse. I go enough and never saw anyone wearing a hairnet. Truly disappointed in the way they handled this. Dont lie to your clients. Apologize and make sure it wont happen again. It will be a long time before I eat there again and this is bad because I eat there 3-4 times a week. Shame.

Tostones were hard, looking old and really shouldn't be sold. Birria tacos were edible more like 3/5 stars. The chicken tacos were good. And quesadilla was one of the best I've ever had. I think overall I'd give it a 3.5 but you can't do half stars here

Taste was good, but I’ve never had a taco that was so little filled before..

The food is great however although they have a sign on the door saying “face masks required” I didn’t see any of the staff wearing them while they prepared and handled food. I would hope the owners of this excellent local restaurant value their guest’s and their staff’s safety.

The food is good, but you can only order in person or it’s going to be wrong. Stinks when ordering online ahead of time means you won’t get the right order.

The food is great, but the owner needs a little chill pill, to sarcastic for my liking. Needs to be more of a peoples person, I understand that is a big difference between a small truck and a small restaurant, but the same standards should apply.

I have ordered and picked up from here several times via their online ordering system/Uber eats. They were great, but recently they’re forgetting parts of my order. The first time I brushed it off as a mistake. But now the second time, it’s annoying and I wonder why they can’t slow down and read the orders and quality check them. The first time they forgot my pastelitos I called and asked for a refund, but they insisted that I come in to get it and get an additional one for free. I gave in and went back the next day (wasn’t worth it). The second time they forgot something was today and I ordered chips and guac, but got no guac. It’s a small item and cost, but very aggravating to not get what I ordered and paid for. Additionally, they really need to start labeling their food orders to not tip over. Almost every time I order Uber eats my tacos end up on their side and all of the filling falls out. I understand this is the drivers doing, but how would they know which way to hold the bag if the restaurant doesn’t tell them? Overall, food is decent and good price, but certainly could use some more seasoning/flavor.

It’s good. Like really good. Be warned that if you order online and pay extra for toppings like extra cheese or guacamole ($2.08 more for guacamole) you won’t get it. I think maybe you have to go in there and order. All six times I have ordered online and picked up the guacamole or extra cheese are NOT on it. The other thing is they’re almost never wearing masks above their chin. I get that it’s hot and uncomfortable, but c’mawn. We’re still in a surge. This will likely be the last time I go. They are really good, but I don’t like paying extra for things and not getting them.

Salty. Period. We ordered birria tacos. Loaded with salt. Consome loaded with salt. The papa locos fries were 10/10. Thank God for that. We were hungry . Coco Rays..enjoy our $$. I had high hopes for this place! I recently moved back here from Philly and heard great things about this place. The menu looked great and hubby and I love Taco's. We ordered to take out since we live so close by. When we got home, we opened the first box which was the order of fries. I have included pic of what we got because I could not believe it. Is this the regular serving? I mean, did they eat some of my fries while preparing our meals? My husband also ordered rice and he did not get it. Also my tostada was cold :( I don't know if it's one of those types of places that is best to eat in to make sure they get it right and you get it warm, However... I am willing to give them another chance...maybe we caught them on a off day? But I'm not gonna lie when I say I will be a little hesitant for a while since first impressions mean everything!

I don't know of I caught them on the wrong time but not impressed at all. The tacos were super dry the lime had no juice able to squeeze from it because of them being dry as well. The condiments I paid extra for weren't added despite them getting it wrong the first time around. Great service and great attitudes just def not a fan at all.

INCOMPETENT AND MESSY! I went there yesterday (11/19/22) evening around 6:30pm. To order food was a HASSLE and we had to stand there at the register and wait for an employee to do their job for 10+ minutes. Finally when I speak up and say some thing to one of the girls looked at me, she swiftly takes our order, went to the back and NEVER came out again. Now we’re standing there confused like “ok? So is she going to complete this transaction?” The other workers are extremely incompetent and purposely avoided looking up just so they did not have to help KNOWING IM CLEARLY WAITING TO PAY. Since we as the customers have to do the workers job and have to establish communication, We then ask one of the other workers “did she start our order?” And the worker replied with “yes, it’ll be 10 minutes”. So we’re waiting outside of the restaurant and 20 minutes goes by (to give them extra time). We go back inside assuming our food is done AND THEY NEVER EVEN STARTED IT!!! The service was complete trash, the incompetency of the employees is WILD! I heard such great things about the food but since I never got my order I can’t speak on that. However what this review is about is how upper management needs to reprimand these lazy/unskilled employees, teach them people the skills of the job, and understand THIS IS A REAL BAD LOOK. THIS was ghetto and unorganized.

I ask for two burritos and two chicken tacos, 😌😏 🥴 The pork meat look like it was NOT fresh also was salty. I also notice the chef drop a taco from the grill to the floor and put it back on the grill, my wife told me she order there once’s but did not like the food. I Don’t recommend it.

Went there for the first time! No one greets you! Girls are rude. Ordered 3 alcapurias so disappointed, not cooked when I got home they raw. I ordered 2 tacos so dry and salty. I will not be returning to this place.

Went there and the ladies were very unfriendly and expected me to know what I wanted. I was hoping to get some recommendations as I heard things were good. The atmosphere was off so I didn’t decide to buy anything. Went to EL PATRON IN METHUEN wayyyy nicer experience, place and not to mention eatery. They treat you as nice as their loyal clients. Oh yeah it also seems like if you have negative feedback they will never acknowledge you or it. How can you expecting anyone to progress or care about your business if they aren’t committed to being better ? Save the embarrassment, go to El Patron and the barria tacos are fire. It’s a prob less than a 50/50 chance you’ll get treated with respect at cocorays

Very unprofessional, very rude, workers are untrained and are not organized. The management is UNACCEPTABLE and I hope who ever the own is reigns this place back in, the food is good, but dont order for delivery if you expecting to receive it in the same day. Dont try calling them because it will go to voicemail numerous times before someone answer to try and help you. I placed an order before 12pm by 2pm the order still had not been recieved, only to call and find out that it had been sitting there for hours, with no attempt at delivery and a very unprofessional offering zero solutions behind it all. Poor experience, no consideration towards their customers and the manager quite frankly could not care less about these issues. Give your business to a place that deserves it, not a place that makes a mockery of the restaraunt business.

I was calling the restaurant 10 times maybe already and no answered the first time someone answered and no response and I tried calling again no response I went in to get food and my food took over 30 min for birria taco and burrito I saw someone walk in after me 10 mins I ordered my food and got their food before me and I was still waiting for my food to come out wrong never again and I have been coming here more recently and I almost left without paying and grabbing the food

This low star is not for the food because we never got to taste it. It looked and smelled delicious BUT they never got our complete order. The young lady that made my bowl acted like she didn't either want to take my order OR Didn't want to be there. After 30mins my husband and I left. That's unfortunate as I was will to give a great review on my podcast. Maybe next time

The worst part is to rate a establishment bad. I ordered food waited 30m before I pick up. I arrived to the place and food was not prepared. The person the front asked me what I order and started making right way. I Wait around 20m. I arrived home but when I arrived home portion wide for almost $50 was so little like come on!. If you offer online ordering please be mindful. some of us it so we don’t have wait. The place had so much potential, but don’t be discouraged by my review. Go and try yourself.

Decided to try this place since they got great reviews. I got the bowl with rice, pinto beans, chicken, cheese and pico de gallo. Had my husband pick it up. First off WHY IS THE CHICKEN SHREDDED? It was so gross shredded. U cant have shredded chicken in a bowl!!! I wasn’t a fan of the beans the flavor wasn’t good and the chicken was gross. Threw my whole dinner out! My husband got shrimp tacos they were ok he said nothing special. We also tried the taquitos. There was literally no filling inside! Will not be back. My daughter goes here with her friends I guess they love the birria tacos.
