Amazing service, Patrick was amazing and was always around to get drinks and food. The food was an unbelievable mix of Cajun and modern. The atmosphere was great with a nice rustic style. I had the escargot which was in mushrooms. I also had the soft shell crab which was great. It came with pasta, and crawfish. The bill came out to about $42 per person 10/10 would recommend.
This place was really nice and quaint, and the food was great also. I have attached pics of our food. I had the chicken marinaro (sp?) and my wife had the lamb chops with an amaretto sour. She was happy and that was great! My food was great and seasoned very well. The waitress and service were attentive and good! We also indulged in the desert. We had the cheesecake and it was heavenly (no pic, sorry).
We ordered the Chef's choice ravioli to start (stuffed with crab meat) and it set a fantastic tone for the rest of our meal. Everything from cocktails to dessert was made with great attention to detail, and the staff were phenomenal. If you are staying in the warehouse district, I highly recommend stopping by! P.S. the bread (from Leidenheimer Bakery) is to die for.
My second trip to Annunciation, the first was years ago. I'm thrilled it's still here. Very solid food, incredibly amazing staff, good drinks and wine list. Anything fried was light, everything tasted great, meat was cooked perfectly. It's a very unique place, I will always stop here when I'm in this city.
This restaurant is absolutely AMAZING so much so I went back twice with my sister! The quality and freshness of the food is stellar and the service is personable and fun with elegance! I met the owner Kristen who is just lovely, warm and delightful! The staff is very knowledgeable and consistent with service! Annunciation is my new place to dine when I travel to NOLA!!
WOW. What a treat this little tucked away place is. Great food, great atmosphere and great staff. Definitely not understaffed and it showed Fried Green tomatoes that were firm and not mushy like most Perfectly seasoned fried eggplant sticks with a nice dip, but I didn't get the confectioners sugar! Tender, fresh, tasty Oysters Rockefeller A crispy Avocado and crab salad that sat on a pleasant bed of chopped lettuce The veal Marsala was tender with a nice reduction and perfectly cooked mushrooms over linguini. Just the right portion. Finally one of the best Creme Brulee I have had with 2 slices of Banana under the sugar crust 😍 The wine list was extensive and well balanced Great job folks. Thank you. We will be back Returned a week later. Turtle was soup of the day. A little salty and too thick for me. Never had it before so not sure if that is how it should be. Had the Drum Yvonne which was excellent 👌 Back again for some more fried eggplant. The Godchaux salad was nice and tangy Tried the duck this time and very glad I did. WOW. Crispy leg with a nice glaze and nuts. The Breast was cooked well and the fat was nicely rendered.bcrispy skin through out. Served over wild rice
Two nights ago, I had dinner at Annunciation Restaurant. My gulf fish and shrimp were so tasty. Shot out to the bartender, Mike, who was my MVP! He kept my two drinks flowing. I have been pretty much tired of cheesecake for several years. However, I tried it this time because it was made on site. It was good. Had a very nice conversation with Dr William Wright, Sumpter SD Superintendent of South Carolina. Stay tuned! Just the beginning! Wait and see! #WhyGOMO
We enjoyed a really nice dinner at this restaurant on a Thursday night. Our waiter was friendly, professional and knowledgeable about the menu details. We enjoyed the Gumbo, which could easily be described as some of the best in town. The fried green tomatoes were tart and perfectly crisp and topped with shrimp. The boudin balls were also perfectly baked and flavorful. The mussels in a spicy tomato sauce were perfect! The wedge salad with blue cheese was freshly tasty and generous in proportion. For our entrees we had a seafood dish with crab and a crawfish sauce with pasta. The veal dish was tender and delicious. The other two fish dishes were both light, filled with yumminess and so good! For desert, we shared the bread pudding, chocolate pecan pie and the cheesecake. So So good!! We will return to try the other didhes! Highly recommend!!
Carol and I were excited to be visiting The Big Easy for the first time in our lives, since a business trip presented the ideal opportunity. Many friends and family listed the restaurants that we should visit. We started down the list, but one night we didn't want to walk far from the convention center. Google showed a highly rated restaurant close by, and after looking at the menu, we decided to visit Annunciation. Upon being seated, an observation of my surroundings revealed that Annunciation pays attention to detail. Our waiter, Sam, was the consummate steward, we always felt well-attended to. Now, ordinarily, complimentary bread would not be mentioned in a review... were it not for a few nights earlier, at THE celebrity restaurant in town, no bread was offered. So let me say that the bread and butter at Annunciation is premium and fresh, and if you eat it all, more is offered! I had the Roasted Duck, while Carol got the Chef's Choice Ravioli. We both enjoyed every bite! We spent 6 nights in the city. Annunciation is the only restaurant I'm taking the time to write a review for. That is how good they are.
Five stars all the way across!!!! The food, drinks, waitstaff, and service was top notch!! Nike was our service and she had a wonderful personality and was very helpful with our selections. The food was amazing. I got the crab cakes for the Lenten special and they were fully loaded with lump crab meat and no filler!! Highly recommend!
Absolutely phenomenal from start to finish!! There wasn't a bite we didn't like. Service was perfect, we ordered 3 apps and 3 entrées and drinks, Nyke our bartender and Mike was our server. They were outstanding people who delivered incredible food and drinks! What a vibe. 20/10 will eat here many many times again and I'll recommend family and friends.
We had a meal with friends at Annunciation Restaurant and could not be more pleased. The decor in the restaurant is very nice, with several large paintings by local artists on the walls. The service is friendly and very attentive from the bar tenders to our table servers. The soft shell crab and garlic and egg plant soup were very good.
A lovely group dinner at Annunciation. The soft shell crab in the pasta dish with crawfish was bigger than my hand and delicious! It reminded me of the Beetlejuice dinner! Others who ordered the lamb chops said it was delicious. The special Cantaloupe prosciutto balsamic salad was delicious… it was much bigger than I imagined. Everyone was happy with their meal. Highly recommend this place for dinner!
We really enjoyed our dinner at Annunciation. With some very tasty dishes and great service, it was exactly what we wanted from our nice date night in New Orleans. The atmosphere is great, especially if you go a little earlier in the evening before it gets very busy. Would definitely recommend - we loved every dish, and the cocktails were awesome.
This place is just perfect! We had a group of 11 and tried everything on the menu! I absolutely loved it all! The service was on point. Everyone know every single detail about the food, specials and desserts! They have a great selection of drinks as well. I recommend that you make a reservation because it’s not a big place and it does get busy! 🫕Appetizers: Always ask for the soup of the day! Fried Green Tomatoes and Fried oysters were all great! 🥩 Main: The Duck 🦆 dish and the Lamb 🐑 dish were my favorite! 🤩 Desserts: they have an award winning chocolate Truffle but I recommend their homemade cheesecake! Sooo good! Sorbets are great too!
We had such an amazing experience tonight. Some of our party did the Coolinary menu, others ordered off the main menu. It was all so delicious and Patrick was beyond helpful... he knows what I mean. This will forever be a go to for us when we're in town. So yummy! My husband got the fish special, I got the coolinary seafood special. Absolutely delicious 😋
I'm not usually one to leave a review, but I'm walking away from Annunciation with an unparalleled experience in service, incredibly food, and exquisite beverages. You cannot go wrong here, though I would personally recommend the shrimp ettoufee and bread pudding! Phillip made the best sazerac I have had the pleasure to drink and even talked me into an espresso martinis, which isn't usually in my wheelhouse, but was incredible.
This is an amazing place to visit when in New Orleans. Threw a dart on the map and decided on something off the strip. What a great choice this was. The service was amazing from the start. Our waiter argued with us about pecans vs peecans and it was laughter and friendliness from there. As a GA native, it’s pecans btw. The chef served a complimentary dish while we were waiting. The drinks came out soon after. Just constant service from the staff, we didn’t even realize how long we’d been there. I had the Soft Shell Pasta and my wife had the Shrimp Étouffée, a classic New Orleans dish. Both were amazing. You will not be disappointed giving this place a try.
Randy and the staff did an amazing job for 7 guests for my birthday! The food was excellent (even for some specific requirements) and we loved the atmosphere to help us celebrate. My ex was a chef and we have eaten at hundreds of restaurant from NYC, to Napa, and all over NO and Annunciation is one of my favorites!
We count ourselves most fortunate to have secured a table at Annunciation during the splendid chaos of Mardi Gras weekend. To dine there, amid a city intoxicated by music and color, felt less like a reservation and more like a small triumph of destiny. The restaurant itself hums with life, perfectly attuned to the culture and vibrancy of its surroundings. From the very first moment, the service was nothing short of exemplary. We had the pleasure of being tended to by Scarlett and Kendrick, who managed our rather formidable table with effortless grace. Despite the lively bustle, every dish arrived precisely as ordered, no small feat considering the size of our party. They remembered each selection with enviable ease, delivering not only plates but attentive and charismatic personality. And now, the cuisine which deserves its own applause. The soft shell crab pasta was, without exaggeration, the finest pasta I have had in recent memory. The crab, crisp and perfectly salted, offered a textural brilliance I did not know I required in my life, yet now cannot imagine living without. It did not accompany the pasta so much as elevate it. The duck was magnificent. The salad was bright and balanced served with blue cheese dressing. The fries indulgently satisfying, and each entrée at our table worthy of admiration. We sampled a generous assortment, including the tapenade and the meatballs, and I remain undecided as to which I preferred, a rare and pleasurable dilemma. Annunciation does not merely serve dinner; it orchestrates an experience. A live pianist accompanied our visit, and during Mardi Gras, that experience feels nothing short of theatrical. Unbelievably, the dessert shone just as brightly! I don’t think I could go back without saving space for more flan, I had to give my compliments to the chef and beg for the recipe or some tips There was also a chocolate mousse served alongside it. There was also some exquisitely named ice cream balls served inside a crunchy bowl. Needless to say the presentation of all of these was immaculate. Cannot wait to come back. As I’m not a Louisiana local. I will cherish this place everytime I do come back to visit.
Chad for the win. He was an amazing server. Awesome service and environment.
A very special meal. Live piano player. Attentive service. Fresh bread. The shrimp etouffee was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. Highly impressed by the crunchy fried oysters. A great meal at a very reasonable price. Conveniently located near the convention center
I came with two friends for a Reveillon dinner and it was fantastic! I had a crostini of sorts, fried oysters, the best gumbo of my life, beef wellington, and cheesecake. Everything was absolutely delicious, and I ended up bringing most of the wellington and all of the cheesecake home with me because the portions were so large. I'll definitely be back!
I held a reception at Annunciation recently. Kristen and the staff did an amazing job from start to finish. They were sensitive to budget, excellent with communication, and took care of details I hadn't thought of. The staff was incredibly professional and welcoming. The food was delicious and the venue elevated the evening's experience. I absolutely recommend this place for individual and group dining.
The crab was so fresh!! Staff was amazing and really made my anniversary dinner special.it was definitely an unforgettable night. The food was the best we had all week. This is officially my go to spot when we are in town. Thanks for the amazing experience.
What an amazing dinner for Christmas Eve. The food was a gastronomical delight. Our family of 10 raved about each of the different dishes on the special menu that we ordered. The service was superb. It was the start of a perfectly wonderful Christmas Eve.
Chad took great care of us—good vibes, great food!
From start to finish, this was a wonderful dining experience. The restaurant was responsive to emails, and we were greeted upon our arrival. Our waiter, Patrick, was probably one of the best I have had in a year. I have literally driven past this restaurant for years and said we should try it. We finally did on Saturday, and boy was the food and experience a 12 out of 10. We had the gumbo and special soft shell crab appetizer, both were perfect and well presented. The mains were the duck and fish Capri, again great items, well presented and very tasty. And for a final, the mango and raspberry sorbet were nice to end the evening, along with a massive banana foster bread pudding that was to die for. I have again point out service was great, Patrick was a wonderful guide and highly attentive. We will be back again.
We booked a reservation at Annunciation for our Anniversary celebration, and we were so pleased that we did. The service was top notch and the food was absolutely incredible! We had the Lamb Shanks and the Shrimp Ettoufee and it was some of the best food we’ve ever eaten! Not to mention the desert. Some of the best bread pudding and cheesecake we’ve had. Try this place, the chef is incredible. You won’t regret it!
The ambiance was pleasant, the food was great and the service was awesome. After spending all week as part of a large group in New Orleans, it was a pleasant surprise to find ourselves at a place that accommodated us without any objections. The food was not only delicious, but very reasonably priced compared to similar offerings in nearby restaurants. The New York strip steak was well prepared and the desserts were delightful. Highly recommend it.
Annunciation helped make my wife’s Birthday special! Food was incredible and Randy’s service was second to none!!! The Culinary Menu is a MUST!!! Thank you, Annunciation!!
From the Start our reserved table was not ready, but we were told by the hostess that we could sit at the bar until we were notified that our table was ready. My spouse and I ordered wine, in the meantime a waitress came to take our order with the intention of us having Valentines dinner at the bar, then I made it known that we had a reservation for a table. *Note: by this time my spouse and I started thinking about a pizza and a six pack of Paradise. But the savior of Annunciation Restaurant (AR) said, will you stay, I’m gonna be your waitress. The AR waitress, named Nyke saved the day for AR. Nyke gave her advice on the menu items, drinks, and Nyke was extremely pleasant. She most definitely is the entire reason we had a marvelous February 14th evening. She also encouraged us to come back, which we are going to absolutely do. If you make the decision to go visit AR, ask that Nyke be your waitress, excuse me, personal food guide. I promise, that you and your party will have a stupendous night. Nyke, thank you so very much for your attention and patience throughout the evening. AR should be extremely excited that you bless them with your presence. Hungrily Yours The Parkers!
We had the pork shoulder for dinner and pecan pie for dessert. Both delicious, as was the bread that came out when we arrived. Fresh out of the oven, soft, and the butter was soft too - all perfect! Great service, lovely atmosphere, crisp white tablecloths, just all around a perfect dinner. I love this place! Coming straight back next time we’re in town.
Really terrific restaurant. Excellent service, beautifully decorated and the food was exceptional. We forgot to take pictures so we’ll have to come back again!
The Roast Duck was soft, delicious, and well served. The Lemon Icebox Tart dessert was a fantastic treat (filling was like a sorbet). Waiters were very attentive and our server Phillip was friendly and great!! Definitely coming back again.
If you eat dinner anywhere in New Orleans eat here. We ate at several different highly rated restaurants. None came close to these guys. The inside atmosphere is great. Our server was Sam and they don't get better. The food was off the charts. If I ever come back to New Orleans this will be my choice.
Server was attentive but not over bearing. The food was delicious.
My boyfriend and I celebrated our 64th birthday together at Annunciation Bar and Grill, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. From the moment we walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere set the perfect tone for our celebration. The food was delicious, the drinks were on point, and everything was reasonably priced. What truly stood out was the impeccable service—attentive, friendly, and thoughtful throughout the evening. Every detail contributed to a memorable night. We’ll definitely be returning!
Hosted a private event for 50 people. From the start, menu selection, booking process, execution, etc everything was flawless. Our guests loved the food, especially the bread pudding and the short ribs. The staff were amazing, extremely friendly and delivered exactly our vision. 10/10 will come back!
Such a gem in the warehouse district, tucked away. Fresh caught fish, beautiful presentations, and Nike was awesome for service and drinks!
This review is long overdue. I went to Annunciation for the first time in June and I can't wait to go back. I hadn't heard much about it so I didn't know what to expect. Everyone at my table loved what we ate -- so much so that we all shared bites of each others' dishes. The waitstaff were professional and jovial. It's a new local favorite!
We hosted a private lunch at Annunciation and had an amazing experience! Kristin, the Director of Special Events, was a delight to work with and ensured that every last detail was accounted for. On the day of the event, the entire staff was incredibly attentive, accommodating, and helpful - all around amazing. The food was delicious, and we couldn't be happier to have hosted our event at Annunciation!
What a wonderful hidden gem this was. We stopped in for our anniversary last night and had a lovely time. All of the staff was extremely friendly and they went above and beyond to make it a great experience. The food was absolutely amazing as well! We will be coming back for sure on future trips!
Great food and service! Nice wine selection in an atmosphere small enough to feel intimate. Gumbo with duck was awesome so was the lamb.
Very nice and intimate setting. Food was great, the drinks were out of this world. They have a pianist there playing music which added to the atmosphere. It was a nice change of pace from other restaurants.
What a wonderful experience! Warm, elegant and fun! Phil the bartender/mixologist, (he was a delight!$, to the amazing cuisine….. we will definitely be back! Chef Jose Castaneda, you outdid yourself tonight 💫
👍👍
Wonderful spot with a great vibe. We had a big group and they were surprisingly able to fit us in with a last-minute reservation. The food was incredible—from the appetizers to every dessert. Our server, Chad, was so kind and responsive. Highly recommend!
We were visiting New Orleans with family and had a party of 9. Our server Mike took exceptional care of us. He had complete knowledge of the menu. The food was stellar. Everyone enjoyed their entrees. The pasta was made fresh and delicious. I would highly recommend to anyone.
One of the best restaurant experiences I've had in a good long while. The food was excellent. We did an appetizers/small plate tasting and everything was fantastic. Drinks were great, and service was personable and attentive. Would definitely go here all the time if we lived closer.
Just had dinner with my wife and daughter. The cream of zucchini was to die for. My wife’s lamb chop was so good it made me regret my NY strip. My server Randy and his assistant were exception in the way they ask about our allergies and recommended the soup and sides for our entrees. I have to say I will be back and I will definitely recommend to my friends and family.
Magnifica cocina local, creativa, innovadora. Acompañada de excelente servicio! Felicidades!!
The fried green tomatoes with mirliton and shrimp were exceptional. One of the best appetizers I have ever experienced. The soft shell crab Monica was also delicious, but it came with hair in it. The wait staff handled this extremely well and professionally. Would definitely return.
I really enjoyed the setup and the wait staff. We had a really big group and they did a great job accommodating us. I enjoyed the bread, vegetable soup and desert but my entree was not very good. Limited tasteful vegetarian options but others in my group enjoyed the meat choice options.
What do get when you cross Irene's Cuisine, Tommy's Cuisine and Galatoirs together? Annunciation! Between the back of the house and the front, you'll get the best of what made these icons popular! Great New Orleans food and the best service the city has to offer. Milton has a crew of chefs making dishes made from all three places. Wish he would put Dark Chocolate Pecan Pie back on the dessert menu! The menu is constantly offering different specials and seasonal cuisine. Love the Duck and the Fish plates! You'll be served by some of the best professionals in the city! Sam, Sergio, Val and Scott have been serving tourists and locals for over 30 years apiece! No need to go to the French Quarter for great food when you can get the same experience at Annunciation y'all! Ask Sam about the Veal St. Charles! Topped with crab, capers and Buerre Blanc sauce. YUMMY! It can get a bit loud if there is a rowdy table though. Acoustics could use improving.
The food was good, but did not blow us away. I had the Drum for my meal and it ended up being a bit overcooked. My husband got the Crawfish Etouffee and agreed with a similar thought: that it was good food, but not as excellent was what we'd hope for in what we paid for. My sister ordered the lamb chop, and it was cooked to order, but there wasn't much meat on the bone. Regardless, although the food was good, the ambiance and staff was incredibly attentive and kind.
Awesome ambiance! Very attentive matradie. Great back waiter!! Waiter was a bit disappointing..did not check on us often. Ordered wine when I ordered dinner, it came out half way through dinner. Wife asked for lemons in her water, it arrived after we finished eating. The softshell crab was very tasty but not crispy. Probably cooked at too low a temp. The drum was very tasty, but a bit tough. Probably cooked too long. We were almost through eating before the waiter asked how the food was.
Food is good, but not as good as the prices would lead you to believe.
Short rib was a little dry and au just was definitely bouillon heavy, cannelloni was spot on,as was apps and desserts.
We had reservations, and were seated and greeted for drinks promptly. Those came out quickly as did the apps we ordered along side them. The fried chicken and dumplings were delicious with a very unique take on the classic, the fried green tomatoes were good but not special. It took a long time to get our waiter back over to us to place an entree order (he did have a few large tables) but the food came quickly after we ordered. By far the pork shoulder was the table favorite, but nothing we ordered disappointed (drum, lamb, duck, pork). The bread pudding was good as well. The main reason for the 4 stars is we did order a gumbo we never got.
The food was … mediocre to poor for New Orleans. And overpriced. The plating was poor… huge plates, tiny servings, nothing occupying the huge white space. It looked nothing like the photos. I was with a group of 8, so maybe that was the problem? the filets were dry and almost flavorless. The vegetable that came with the fish was literally 3 small slices of zucchini (nothing else occupying the rest of the massive plate), and the soup of the day was such that no one in our group finished it. The garlic soup was OK. The chicken Marsala got me a little tipsy it had so much wine in it, but the chicken was very tender. Overall, for the cost, it was not good value. The service was fine, they were present with no personality. The old fashioned was cloudy and the sweetest old fashioned I have ever had. I got a second to see if it was better and only took a sip, because it was the same candy in a glass. The group agreed. All of these are fixable things but I’d go to any of a dozen other places before I go back, considering the cost.
Immediate seating for a party of 8 on a Friday. That should have been a red flag. My very expensive filet mignon was over-cooked and tough but server never came back to check on us after the food dropped. When he finally did return, the rest of the table was done eating and he showed zero concern for the fact I hadn't eaten my steak. Just told me it wasn't his fault, and never comped the steak. We won't be back.
Had not visited since our last visit several years ago. At that time the meal was excellent. This time around it was mediocre at best. I had the New York Strip. The steak was of poor quality and the taste and texture was sub par. All of the 7 guest were disappointed with their meals. Service was good however.
Disappointingly slow service; party of eight; cocktails took 20 minutes; appetizers another 20 minutes; entrees came out 40 minutes after that.... Yes plenty of apologies from our superb server... Didn't do much for the appetite. Beef Wellington entree was tepid & never received the desert from the five course tasting menu paid for.
Its a very beautiful restaurant, the staircase is gorgeous. The menu looked amazing and we were SO EXCITED. The service left us feeling a little ignored. The drinks were inconsistent. The appetizers were delicious, but we were pretty disappointed by the entree. The veal tasted like raw flour and this Drum Yvonne was greasy. The grease was black, like they needed to clean the griddle/grill/pan. We paid nearly $200 to leave hungry and irritated.
There was a mouse running through the restaurant! We got no apology, no discount! They just made jokes. I feel gross after eating there
I visited on Christmas Eve 2025 and made selections from the holiday menu. Everything I ordered was served tepid and was flavorless. I didn't touch the amuse bouche of a slice of bruschetta because the cheese wasn't even melted. The next course was sweet potato gnocchi, which did have a nice flavor, but was also served room temperature. Again, the parmesean garnish was not melted because the dish was too cold. The main course was the crab cake, which was a huge disappointment. It was cold, soggy and flavorless. It was very full of crab and no fillers, but it was one of the most bland things I have ever eaten. I could not finish the dish. I had so looked forward to this meal, but it was not worth my time or money.
