service wasn’t super friendly but the food is SO GOOD, will be back 😛
Food was amazing all of the sushi hand rolls were delicious, convenient and affordable! The miso soup is also a must! Conveniently comes in a coffee cup to go so you can drink it as you walk around.
This was one of the highlights of our trip to NYC. This place combines such amazing flavor at a very reasonable cost and with friendly service. We got a wide variety of hand rolls including spicy tuna, spicy shrimp, and sunshine. All of them were standout and I don’t think you could make a bad selection here. Their spicy mayo dip was also excellent with each roll. I highly recommend trying this place out.
Wonderful experience with the rools! Also the Aussie girl from the Brooklyn unit was superrr nice! She gave us tips on what to order and we loved it. The tuna maio, tempura shrimp and salmon were my favorites.
My friend and I were sitting down at a restaurant having appetizers across the street from the Lucille Lortel Theatre and I couldn't help notice all the people coming in and out of Sushi Counter. Later that day I decided to take a peek and was so impressed. It's so adorable and charming inside. So many wonderful sushi rolls to choose from and they're ready to eat right away. I had the tuna roll and it was quite satisfying. They give you a little fish size plastic container with soy sauce too. These are Australian style sushi rolls and they're filling too. The three sushi rolls for $12.00 is a good value. One of New York's most unique places for sushi. It's really a takeaway kind of place, although there is a small spot to sit, for two people. Highly recommend.
Came after reading good gluten free reviews. Sushi counter is 100% gluten free so can eat here feeling safe! Was surprised when I arrived that it was queuing down the street, sushi did not disappoint and was worth the queue. I had the spicy shrimp, spicy tuna and salmon on the 3 roll deal and they were incredible!
Quick, efficient, and yummy. The perfect on the go snack. Great price for the quality and amount of food. Good vegan options!
Very affordable and tasty sushi rolls that are likely catered towards the student population of the area. Service was quick since all you need to do is go in and choose which rolls (premade and in a display) you’d like and they ring you up. Everything tastes the way you’d except it to, and prices are amazingly affordable for NYC! Heads up, but there aren’t that many areas for seating inside the restaurant (some seats for max. 3-4 people next to the window) but you can quickly eat your rolls standing up inside the store if it isn’t too crowded.
I love stopping by and grabbing a quick bite. I always get the three rolls which is so affordable for the quality. This time I got the Salmon, Spicy Shrimp and Tempura Shrimp. I didn’t need to use any soy sauce since everything was seasoned well (esp the Spicy Shrimp and Tempura Shrimp). There’s no tables inside since it’s meant to be for takeout but there is a small seating area that probably fits two people near the window. Definitely recommend!
Overall rating: 4.6 Price: $13.06 I came to visit after seeing a video that they had really affordable and filling sushi. I got the spicy tuna roll, shrimp tempura and special roll. I didn’t realize it was run by Australians which felt very unique. I read somewhere that the sushi is Australian-style which I’m not sure what that means exactly. I wish I ate at the place because I tried to eat on the go & my hands were freeeezzing. Eventhough the place was cute, the staff was friendly- I didn’t love the food. I don’t like spicy mayo a lot & it seems like they put it in everything. That said, I overheard someone mentioned the spam version & the staff said it was a seasonal item. So I now want to come back when it’s in season to try it!
Loved this place! And at 3 for $12 this will get you filled up at an affordable price. Cute Australian style (and run by Aussies it seems) sushi takeaway -- two small tables inside but definitely meant to take out. Tried a few and my favorite were surprisingly the cooked ones (cooked tuna and spicy salmon), though none were bad by any means. Will definitely stop by again whenever I want a quick bite!

What a hidden gem. The place is quite small and there was a line but it's such great quality susespecially for the price. I'll be going here every time I'm in Manhattan
Amazing place! Great food! Love the items offered on menu. Can't wait to bring my family here.
really yummy and exciting to have gluten free sushi :) the tempura shrimp is SO GOOD. also reasonably priced!
Great little spot with super fresh sushi, some unusual rolls that are Australian favorites. The staff has always been great, especially the owner who is a sweetheart. It's too small to really hang …
Delicious food and the owner is so nice!!!\nThe place is very clean, the prices very reasonable, and the atmosphere very welcoming. You cannot have enough good Japanese food places.

It is a cute store for a quick take-to-go sushi handroll bite. $12 for 3, the price is reasonable but the fish is very small portion to rice.
Is worth the wait in line for a quick yummy snack. Loved the spicy crab salad roll! Great place to get an Australian staple

Quick and very friendly service! The volcano roll was my favorite. I wasn't sure if it would be enough, but 3 rolls was pretty filling. My only gripe is that I wish the yuzu lemonade was stronger, …
Not sure how this place has such high reviews. Thought everything was mid. Too much rice to fish ratio, and everything lacked flavor. The fish shaped soy sauce is cute tho. Only came bc wanted to eat something while waiting in line for L’Industrie - Spicy tuna roll - Volcano roll - Salmon and avocado roll
I have been coming here since they opened, and recently every time I visit, the sushi is consistently COLD—fridge cold, not just room temperature. I specifically asked the staff before purchasing if the sushi was cold, and they assured me it was not. However, all the sushi I received were still cold. To make matters worse, some of the rice was uncooked, which made me feel sick after eating. I am extremely disappointed and will not be returning.
Great spot if you want cheap, fast sushi. I will say I always feel a little meh post eating the sushi, but that's the price I will pay lol. Really friendly workers!!

Not sure if the reviews are created by bots but the sushi I had lacked what most good sushi has - it was missing quality ingredients and genuine care. also not sure if the people working were having a bad day but service wasn’t friendly at all. i felt guilty for asking for extra ginger
