Very nice staff, organized, food taste way better than the Grand Beffet in Essex VT, come here instead for better service. The staff here won't rush you as they let you take your time to eat.

This place does as well as it can all around, i enjoy eating in and taking out, the atmosphere inside is awesome, the service is immediate, u hungry? they got u. Delivery is just as good, because stuff is already cooked, delivery is quick.....why would anyone give less than 5 stars?

I would like to start off by saying I HATE giving five star ratings. I feel there is always room for improvement. However, I just couldn't find anything wrong with it. I got the General Tso with chicken fried rice, egg roll, and chicken fingers. It came with fried wontons, plumb sauce, duck sauce, soy sauce, and fortune cookies. Everything tasted wonderful. I am pretty picky when it comes to Chinese food, so for me to rate it this high is really saying something. Might have to have them again in the very near future.

Well coming from Texas this place really is good. Good variety and fresh . Waitress was so attentive and kind. It is New Year’s Eve 2024 closing it out with Chinese food to bring in 2025. This place was busy. Lots of meat Rib roast Pork roast Ham Turkey Ribs Steak Seafood Crab legs Soups Hibatchi Vegetable sushi Many good options We enjoyed it! Don’t listen to bad reviews try for yourself.

Good. Always a very wide selection. Lots of different options, including the new hibachi menu. Service is always kind, food is turned over often. It's extremely affordable, good luck getting through 2 full plates, though. The only thing I would change is that the hosts tend to crowd people together in sections, which I'm not a fan of. This was our second time here. Staff is always friendly and attentive. Food is great for the price. They also had new hibachi service which was fun to watch! It’s worth noting that this restaurant has been open for over 20 years, and if they are still open and with this level of service, then it must mean they’re doing something right. Great value for your money in such a tourist oriented area highly recommend. I was alone but I was hungry and food was delicious. Stay away from all sauces and keep it clean so you can eat enough for the value.

Very good selection. Even our 9 &7 yo grandsons n s liked it. The crab Rangoon was best I have ever had in my 64 yrs. Appeared to be homemade, luciously filled with a tasty cream cheese and crab filling. Delicious! Staff was attentive, plenty of seating. Not sure about the sanitary factor of allowing customers to scrape their own ice cream with scoops out of big open tubs of ice cream though. I opted for the puddings for dessert. Would return when in the area.

Delivery is always speedy, food is hot and abundant. Servings are more than adequate for the price. People are pleasant and willing to work with the customer. I highly recommend the House Special Fried Rice. YUM!!

I love the hier of quality in this place. Not that it's extravagant. But like a cozy piece of culture. Usually the food is amazing, but there were a few occasions where it was a little burnt, under seasoned, or as if the persons in the kitchen hadn't gotten a full night's rest. Otherwise, an incredible price for a fair meal.

Very nice and comfortable place and the food was great. There is a lot of room, and you are not sitting right on top of each other.

Decent variety for buffet, the only drawback is that the sour & spicy soup too thick and too salty. The waitress sounds like she knows everyone, very welcoming. The lighting should improve a bit, too dark in a way. The palace lantern style lights are impressive. Two dined at 35$ all inclusive, a good bargain for a dinner

I enjoy this place because of the variety of food and quick, attentive service. The only complaint i have is that the waiters were a little bit hard to understand because of the language barrier and accent, but we got by. This place is great! Thanks to everyone that works there!

Ordered takeout from Hong Kong Jade Buffet. It was nice to see several tofu and vegetarian dishes. The sesame tofu was decent but overly sweet. The veggies for the chow mien were quite good and very savoury. Food was ok, however when factoring in the large portion size and cheap prices I’d say it’s worth it over all. Service was friendly, I was in and out for a pick up order so I only interacted with the young lady at the register, she was pleasant to deal with. The ambiance is cool, very quintessential American Chinese restaurant.

Variety of food but the place needs a good cleaning. Drink menu and the wall of our booth had stuff all over them, could use a good wiping down.

Hong Kong Jade Buffet, is okay. Not top of the world delicious, but not bad at all. We came in around 3 in the afternoon to a fully stocked and fresh buffet, and it was changed over to dinner with. Few different items shortly after we arrived. The food was all fresh, although it wasn't exploding with flavor, it wasn't bad. Our service was great and the dining room and restrooms were clean. It cost us about $40 for two adults, and I think we were charged the dinner rate.

Great service and overall fairly clean. We came in at 8pm on a Saturday, so some of the food had been sitting for awhile. The food that had been renewed was good overall in quality. They have a stir fry station with fresh ingredients which very few buffets have. That is a big positive. There are some odd items like fried frog legs. Some of the typical staple items were not too good. Sort of an odd combination of the things you typically expect to be bad were actually good, and the things you expect to be good were only so-so or not good. I would leave a 5-star if I go during the middle of the day and see the rest of the items a bit more fresh, but I would definitely come back here it was good overall. I think it was just the end of the day and there was almost nobody in the place by the time we arrived.

Reasonable food for very affordable prices. Their won ton and imperial rolls are terrible, but the chicken wings are excellent. The buffet is a blend of ordinary to quite good foods, and encourages experimentation. Ordinary and satisfactory ambiance. Very basic service with some language barriers. But the prices are excellent. Not a bad spot for an uncomplicated and unambitious evening. Give it a try.

Bumped up to 3 since staff is sociable but honestly most food is significantly worse than any buffet I've been to in 30 yrs. The ham was the only thing that was very good and the chicken noodle soup was 5 million times better than any I've ever had. Price is so cheap it's kinda worth it to go just for ham, soup n dessert and pray if you taste one of everything one or two more items may be edible. Icecream was 5stars in taste but was apprehensive that everything in freezer was melting then they turned me off by scooping complete n total mush from one container onto another. Looks sickening but I took icecream from the only half mush section and it was great. Not sure why most foods had such an off taste

Bare minimum, straight forward, and the most average I could ever think of. But look at these cool art prints I got with my vinyl!

Sometimes the food is delicious. Other times not so much. Sometimes it is not warm enough. Sometimes it appears to have been sitting there for a long time..hard donuts for example. It's best to go during prime time so the food is fresh

It was okay, it's good old basic chinese food... I was hoping it would have more ethnic options... but it was good chinese American food. Kinda reminds me of take out but like buffet style. The staff is always sweet and the bubble tea was good. The deserts were good, I just wanted less golden corral and more like bean curd with spicy sauce or orange beef with chilli, hot chilli oil dish, or Pickled ginger, with fish skewers. So all in all not bad but not what I was looking for.

It has gone downhill. Use to love going to Jades but today the good wasn't so good. Service was great.

We visited Plattsburg Hong Kong Jade Buffet for some all-you-can-eat Asian cuisine, but honestly, it was pretty mediocre. The food selection was modest, and while I left full, nothing really stood out. The service, however, was great — the staff were attentive and friendly throughout our meal. The unfortunate part was that the AC dripped a bunch of water from the ceiling into my food, which was pretty unappetizing. To top it off, when we crossed the border, even the patrol agent made fun of us for going to Jade Buffet late at night! The dessert selection was almost non-existent, which was disappointing. Overall, the experience was just okay — not terrible, but definitely not memorable either. I'd give it three stars for the excellent service, but the rest was pretty forgettable.

Went last night (hadn't been in years). I got some type of biscuit labeled (meat lovers). I could have broken a window with it (hard as a rock). The normal staples...sweet and sour chicken, dumplings, pork fried rice, sesame chicken (all left alot to be desired) ! The only positive thing was that the waitstaff was attentive, they did a good job collecting plates and keeping beverages full !

This place has gone downhill. It's the only buffet in Plattsburgh so people don't have any other option to compare to. But this last time I went there was more Flys buzzing around then there should ever be in a buffet setting. I seriously needed a fly swatter at my table. I'd hate to see what the kitchen and food prep areas look like. It used to be way better, I just feel like quality control has diminished through the year's.

This place stinks and is filthy really. counters and tables have this film on them. Dust everywhere. The staff look like they live on the street. I've never been in a Chinese Restaurant that plays elevator music, but they do here!

About half a decade ago I vowed never to eat here again for a myriad of reasons, primarily a steep drop-off in food quality and sanitation. In spite of my previous woes, I ended up here again with friends. I am pleased(?) to say not much changed. Food was a bit better than I remember, although the restaurant seemed dirtier than last time. Waitress didn't vanish with my change though so I consider that an improvement at least. And no patrons grabbed food with their hands for once (I get this one is less on the restaurant and an inherent danger of buffet, still probably wouldn't hurt to have staff proctor a bit). It is really a shame because this place is a long standing North Country icon but I'd like to see them work to improve rather than sink because it did used to be great.

The spicy squid is a bit off and the fried scallops aren't evne scallops. But as for the actual delivery. i used uber eats. the gravy from the egg fo young looks like it was hit on the side and all the contents spilled out on to the order in the entire bag. that couldn't hve been the heat. i've ordered here many times. and had no issue. When i called the place they were kind enough to offer a discount or redo the whole order again (granted i were to give back the original order) . a four dollar discount. Better than nothing.

The place is dirty. The food is a bit dry and bland. The layout is cluttered. Between people grabbing take out and the dine in customers it can be a bit crowded.

Waitresses were great, food was mid, sushi was the worst I've ever had. The old man greeting/seating people needs a new role cause he clearly doesn't understand much and likes to order the waitresses around and thought I understood what he was saying just because I was asian as well.

Would not recommend. Full of flies, sushi seemed questionable, lots of coughing in the kitchen area, ice cream machine was broken/off with no clear form of cleaning for the scooper. Food was mid compared to other Chinese buffet

The price is right but the food is mediocre at best. Overcooked vegetables and poor variety of foods. This is the only game in town if ypure looking ng for a buffett but there are much better food options. Skip this place until they get their food quality in place.

I have never been to a more disappointing restaurant in my life. The wait staff was good, but the food was terrible. The Mac n cheese was watery and most likely frozen prior. The potatoes were undercooked. Sushi bar was empty. Pork fried rice had little to no pork. Some of the food was just plain gross and options were slim. To top it off the bill was $32, which would be fine if the food was better. You can go to Texas roadhouse or Kotos for that price. Will not be returning!

Very disappointed went to Jade for dinner tonight. We left a decent tip it wasn't 20 dollars but it was decent considering waitress only refilled 2 drinks. Then when we hand the recipt with out card to the waitress she looked and said that's all? And pointed at the tip. And i said yes you only v refilled two drinks you didnt bring or food is s buffet we get our own food. I'm sorry a 10 dollar tip for only 2 refilled drinks wasn't enough. Then she got a huge attitude over it. If i wasnt so upset and just walked out i would of crossed the whole tip out. My family and i will never return there. That waitress should be embarrassed!!

Showed up at 4:30 in the afternoon and still expected “hot” food. Food is bland and all tasted the same. Many selection were cold and presumably leftovers from lunch. The other thing that I care to share with all of you is that they applied a convenience charge or surcharged when using my credit card (saw no sign saying that…). Sorry HKJB you already increased the pricing and now your passing the cost of doing business to me…sorry but any business passing on the overhead cost to its customers ain’t the place for me!

I would give it Zero stars if I could! I’ve tried giving this place many tries over the years, but it fails every time. The last few times, I had it delivered. I must say, the delivery men are CREEPY. Ladies be careful, the men try to look through the windows of your place. And the way they talk to women is plain disgusting. The food itself is very greasy and questionable. I have gotten sick every time. My breaking point was when I found mystery pieces in it that couldn’t be identified, had to throw the whole meal away. Looked to be maybe a bug that fell into the fryer.

Food was reheated 4-10 days old at least. The food was overall very gross cold and not flavorful at all! The owners make you feel uncomfortable walking up and down standing over your neck being spectators and following you with their eyes, seemed very odd and weird. I would never go back, good server very sweet and nice. But a waste of money!

The man was very rude and snatched the receipt out of my hand because I didn’t give him a tip on an order that was for one of my residents not me.

The food luke warm no steam coming from tables . Walked out hungry ! Very concerning about bacteria in food mostly chicken and a lot of seafood. Positive if they had an inspection at the time we were there they would have received citation because the tables were cold. I politely told staff and they totally did not care. Went for lunch with a co worker who was not from here, he was not impressed and said he would not come back. There was limited food options and food was stale and not fresh. Sesame chicken was all breading. The egg rolls seems like they've been sitting there forever. The potato skins looked as if they were there since opening. The pork fried rice was so stale it tasted just like stale grease. The lo me was dried up. Not the same as it used to be. Quality went down hill since reopening. I get people are excited for reopening but it's not the same as it was years ago. Small portions of fresh food was being mixed with old food, talk about health concerns. Dirty dust covered fan blowing on the deserts. Only thing I enjoyed was the ice cream. He was disappointed. No chance over over eating because the food was gross from the start. Typically don't leave bad reviews but this was bad. We both felt sick to our stomachs shortly after leaving there.

If you like to eat salty, fatty, high carbohydrates food, this is for you. Healthy food need not apply.

The food was dry and burnt and the service was terrible they brought a table of 4 people 3 drinks we ordered 3 waters and 1 Mt. Dew they brought us 1rootbeer and 1 Pepsi and 1 water and the lady didn't take our plate a different person had to then when we paid we said we were leaving a cash tip and she wouldn't leave the table blocking us in and said tip cash we said yes trying to get it figured out then she asked if we were lieing and was rude about it so we got up and left after we got the card back

Went to Jade Buffet over the weekend and here are some thoughts, 1. The food was mediocre at best, however some fried options were abnormally tasty. (Nasty ribs were indeed nasty(not in a good way)) 2. Customer service was poor, in search of my lost pet, it was found in the frier of one of the kitchens. 3. The overall atmosphere was well.

Had lunch there around 1pm. Buffet was terrible. Green beans cold, variety of food was terrible, nearly empty in chicken selection. Pork was dried out. Teriyaki chicken was like jerky.chow mein was not thick just watery as well as mac n cheese. Maybe it's mac n cheese soup

This place has gotten ridiculous. For me and three kids it was 72.43 that's exactly what we pay for when we order take out. That feeds more than four ppl and we still have some after. Not only that the woman said where's tip. I don't have to give a tip especially when you didn't come to my table except for one time the whole time I was there. I will not be going back there that's for sure. Not to mention the numerous health issues.

The greasiest and most disgusting Chinese food I ever attempted to eat. I had the General Tso's Tofu. A triple-cheeseburger would have been healthier, seriously. May as drink hot lard. Yeah, it was that bad.

Food was disgusting. Meat was all dried up or flavorless. The S & S sauce was so sweet I couldn't even eat it. The waiter had a nasty attitude towards us ; he only came to the table when it was convenient for him, demanded us to give him a tip etc. None of the food was fresh, most of the items available had little to none left in the container.

I wish I could give it 0 stars.. WORST food I think I have ever eaten in my life... Not sure what was in the spring rolls or egg rolls; the filling was just white mush. We ordered sesame "chicken" and generals Taos "chicken" it was all stale breading.. barely any chicken. The sauces were just sugar, zero flavor... What a disgrace.

Food was mediocre at best. Definitely gave me bubbleguts after eating. My dining companion only ate a little bit and stopped because it made her feel sick. The hibachi was opened but nobody manning it. I waited for 5-10 minutes for someone to come cook it. Nobody came even after making eye contact with a bunch of the kitchen staff and waitresses. It was only after I sat back down and complained to the waitress that she had the manager come over to say she would cook it. She said that we should have asked her in the beginning to cook it but being our first time, how is anyone suppose to know we have to find her to cook it. Never got asked about refills or anything. Paid our bill and left. Wont be back.

Best part was crushed ice. My kid made a root beer float & Played with a crawfish for entertainment- food was terrible. Should have know by the parking lot- and amount of people in there. Hands down this was the worse Chinese I’ve/we have had. 2 teens 2 adults. Didn’t think you can mess up chicken!

This place has dishonored my mouth and I wish I could give 0 stars, I have no clue how the health inspectors haven’t shut down this establishment yet. This is the worst food I have ever put in my mouth and I would advise NO ONE to go here unless you want to eat mystery meat and moldy seafood. I will never step foot in there again.

Warning! DO NOT come to this Hong Kong Jade Buffet in Plattsburgh, NY 12901 Their food is not fresh, especially the meat. Some of the meat are hard and dry. And their waitresses are not professional. Especially one of the waitresses named 阿银 shown in the picture. She is extremely rude and GREEDY. She is very demanding of her customers by forcing you to give her tips. Otherwise, she won’t leave. She will keep standing at your table staring at you until you pay the bill and give her tips. This waitress makes customers super uncomfortable and unhappy while eating and dining at this restaurant ( Hong Kong Jade Buffet) This waitress is NOT competent at her job at all and MUST be FIRED immediately.👎🏻 Food here is NOT fresh, either.👎🏻

A few months ago I went to JADE BUFFET to eat. I went all the way back to the back wall where next in the back is the festivities room. So i started to eat and suddenly in my back the wall was moving while somebody was slamming things on it in the back and it was loud. And it was like the wall was intermittently pushing me towards the table like beating hard on the wall until was moving forward. I stopped eating and i asked what is going on. They did not answer me but the old Chinese man that's always in the front and the back walking up and down and does not speak English at all made signs to me probably to move and i say i could not because I had many things on the table. And suddenly he started to yell at me in Chinese it looked like he was cursing me for the next few minutes he looked an sounded like a madman. I think he is! And he looked at me with a lot of hate while I was sitting at the table! So I eat a little more and left asap. I don't know why they keeping him there to work. He is still there. Very sad and regrettable and now i go rarely there to eat. I would leave half the stars if I could. Very shameful!

We ate at Jade Buffet moment ago, the food was fantastic. However our server was extremely rude. To the point it scared my small kids why she was making mean faces. At the end when we went to pay she was insisting we pay her more for a tip. When we told her no she continued to try and run our card for more.

Myself and my family ordered delivery last night, and we're all dealing with stomach problems this morning. Not exaggerating, I hate leaving bad reviews...but the quality of what they're serving is extremely poor. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that they could be thawing meat on racks above vegetables, or cooking food that was prepped weeks ago and lost in their cooler. I think someone may become seriously and dangerously ill eating here someday.
