Bar staff is top notch! My first time there and the bar staff was professional and friendly. It was super busy, but you didnt have to wait long. They were really on top of their game!

Came here for Bowie night and it was an awesome night. Them and Long Play across the street are both gems of the city. Drinks had creative cocktails, cheap beers if you want them, and cool vibes.

Had never had the food, tried it. I expected dive bar food. THOROUGHLY SUPRISED. Very tasty and I look forward to trying more from the menu. The bartender turned server is doing a great job in the conditions. I will be back soon.

Drinks Lounge is the dive bar you need in your life!!! It's all the good things about dive bars (a little dark, staff who know you, welcoming) without the bad (sticky floors, smoke, and crotchety staff). The food, while limited in selection, is fabulous and fast! Drinks - Hands down, the Ruby Rita (Deep Eddy Ruby Red vodka and who knows what...) with a spicy Tajin rim. I'm not a "fruity" cocktail guy but this is always on my list. Food - The queso is to die for. I'll also throw in... they are super good people who help raise funds for important community causes.

Great drinks and great food. Staff is friendly and prompt. Most nights you can find a table, busy but not slammed. Parking is a bit chaotic, same as most places these days.

I really love the location, food (Eats Kitchen), drinks and bartenders. $2 tacos, $2 Tecate, & free pool all day, all night every Tuesday. My personal favorite is the Lounge Burger (you can add a fried egg or avocado for a $1). So if you ever get the chace, go check it out and try the food (you won't be disappointed).

Ok so I havent been here yet,but planning on it BUT i just HAD to give it a 5 start because i was reading the reviews and i saw all of the bad reviews but what i LOVED was how the clap backs came on coming from the owner. Lmao idk who you are but i LOVE YOU. i was Laughing so loud that you didn't let the bad reviews lie and you had RECIPTS and the reviewer stayed quiet 😂😂😂. Love you guys hope to come by soon

The drinks are great, and so is the food. They keep it intresting by having all sorts of fun events here from David Bowie dance parties to art markets. Its just a geat neighborhood bar.

Not for everyone but if you like dark and dingy, good priced beers (especially happy hour 4 to 7), and cool real bartenders then that's Drinks. In from Chi town and in the industry, this place is cool. Loaded fries amazing. Plus 2 pool tables.

I LOVE Drinks Lounge! They're our new go-to spot for burgers, and a great place to bring the doggies. Super chill atmosphere where you can actually have a conversation, and listen to great music at the same time. They also have Bloom Gin, which is a favorite of mine, and rare to find around Austin. Their drinks are top notch!

Awesome vibe! We visited Austin for a wedding and spent the first night on 6th street. We had fun on 6th, but there was no way we were going back a second night. Instead we headed to Drinks and everyone in our party loved it. It had an upbeat , chill vibe and great beers on tap. I met the owner Tim as well and he is a super nice guy. 5/5 definitely recommended 🤘

New to Austin during this covid pandemic, we were looking for compliant bars with outdoor seating with a little of that Texas culture we moved here for. Tim, one of the owners, welcomed us in and gave us the etiquette to abide by. Thankfully Drinks Lounge is taking all precautions seriously by establishing an easy to order paperless menu by scanning a QR code, having all wait staff take orders at your table (to limit foot traffic throughout the establishment) and within seconds of a party leaving their table thoroughly disinfecting tables and seats! Good vibes, strong drinks even better service! Definitely coming back.

This place had friendly wait staff, great Covid precautions, delicious food, and great drinks. I love the outdoor seating (shaded and with plenty of spacing). I appreciate the precautions everyone is taking during the pandemic. I read some of the bogus negative reviews below and had a good laugh about those "protecting their rights about the crazy Covid conspiracy" and not wanting to follow the rules. I'm glad the owner of the Drinks Lounge protected the rights of the establishment as well...to refuse service to those people who refuse to obey the rules the establishment has set in place to protect their customers and team. My husband and I enjoyed this place and will definitely be back.

Delicious drinks! Stopped in while waiting for a haircut. I can't remember the name of the first drink, but it was like a ghost pepper Margarita. Ended my stay with a delicious Ranch Water. The bartender was friendly and made great drinks. Would definitely return!

This place has great veggie burgers and tots in. The portions are huge, so it's a good idea to share. It's my favorite bar in Austin. Chill, great music, with friendly and attentive staff. It's expansive, but intimate. You can actually hear your conversation in a booth. It's dim and romantic. Only one tv showing a movie instead of bunch of sports. I love this place. Also, great place for spotting old Austin punk rockers. Update: amazing lil record store inside! Music is at the heart of this bar with live vinyl DJs several nights a week, and great music on the speakers all the time. I'm always asking my phone what song is playing.

Drinks Lounge is a great place to have a drink outside and relax with friends. Drinks are reasonably priced and they have a good combination of cocktails and beers. The staff is friendly and quick! They usually have a DJ on the weekends which is a plus! I believe it is dog friendly as well!

My band plays at the bar across the street almost every month and we are always STOKED to eat here beforehand. They have Austin Beerworks on tap and the food is like really good. Service has always been stellar too. Great place.

The Sunday brunch tacos and nachos are amazing. Wings any day are great too. Super friendly staff. There's cocktails, about 6 drafts, and maybe 20 diff cans. HH til 8 which is also awesome.

Nice low key spot with pool tables. Booths along one wall. Small stage for live music. Huge garage doors open from the main room to the outdoor patio when the sun goes down. Dogs allowed out on the patio and inside the main room with a water cooler to keep dog bowls topped off. Extremely efficient service both at the bar and keeping tables bussed.

Since I live in the neighborhood this is one of my favorite bars to stumble from. I always walk away with a record in hand. It's just divey enough without being gross. My favorite dish is the tot-chos and the frozen drinks hit the spot in the summer. Which is most of the year in Central Texas.

This is my go to neighborhood bar! It's a very unassuming chill bar with a down to Earth vibe. The bartenders are all friendly and great! They have Brunch from noon to 5pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Food is nothing fancy, however very delicious! The cocktails are definitely worth trying! Dog friendly! Great place to spend an afternoon day drinking on the patio.

Prince night was jammin. It was hip n'slammin. That DJ was DOPE. Y'all done good.

The customer service is always on point. The staff has always been really solid, the owner does an amazing job of keeping the place staffed with good folks. They even serve really good food. The carnitas are so good your vegetarian friend is going to love them!! Couldn't ask for more in a neighborhood bar.

Found this place late at night when my friend and I were looking for some good food. We were not disappointed. First of, we were greeted by an incredibly funny employee, checking the IDs as you came in. Very personable and did a great job of making us feel welcome. We ordered a couple of burgers at the bar and our drinks. I was a little skeptical about the burgers because this place seemed more of a bar than a restaurant. But I was not disappointed. The burgers were delicious. 10/10. They were just that good. The rest of the staff was super friendly. We had a great time here and I will certainly be back. A+

Very chill vibe with good drinks and food. Staff is very friendly. Music isn’t too loud. They’re taking all the COVID precautions so it’s fairly safe to come grab some drinks here. It wasn’t packed either, just the right amount of crowd all hanging out at their tables. I only tried a couple of drinks so I’ll be going back for sure to sample other cocktails and their beer selection.

Love this lounge. Friendly staff who will remember you and probably even your regular order. Best tended bar I've been to on Cesar Chavez with a great food selection and always good music playing. Love that they have a photo booth and pool tables and sometimes even a witches market...always enjoy myself whether it be with a group of friends or just having a beer by myself.

Cool new spot with a lot of potential, East riverside is kind of starting to spin up its own scene. Outdoor patio seating outside, open layout inside, no complaints.

Solid place for drinks. Some of the decor seems to suggest a punk rock sort of vibe, which I definitely didn't pick up on. Overall though, no complaints. I wouldn't be opposed to going back if the universe places me nearby again

Good place for a fairly cheap and casual drink with friends, to play some bar games, play trivia, grab a bite or just chill on the patio... It's a neighborhood bar. The parking is not ideal but you really shouldn't have to drive to your local bar anyway.

This place is great! I give it four stars due to the non gluten free fare! The drinks are wonderful, the atmosphere, totes cool, the bathrooms are small, only two actual potty’s and really hard to maneuver. The staff? The door guy was quick and inviting, the rest of them? Not to sure, I didn’t have much interaction. All in all a glorious themed night(David Bowie’s Birthday) at Drinks Lounge.

I danced my heart out here. The nachos were delicious and the vibe was super good. Thoroughly enjoyed the open concept. Lighting was right and the atmosphere was relaxed.

Had a 1st date here. Atmosphere was good though there’s no parking so plan to park on the street. Neighborhood parking is restricted to residents so be careful. I had cocktails and they were very good!

Reasonably priced drinks, good selection of options. Wish the music hadn't been so loud. The place is set up more for hanging out and chatting with friends, but that's not really an option when there's a DJ playing loud dance music. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the music selection. The loud dance music didn't fit the placement of the bar as there isn't a dance floor in there.

This place’s aesthetic is really cool, tall leather booths, funky chandeliers, pool tables and an awesome outdoor area. The bartender was super friendly to everyone and had interesting conversation. I had the frozen cherry limeade and it was great, the loaded cheese fries though…those were absolutely incredible. I usually shy away from cheese fries because of how soggy they can get but my fries were so crispy, had a bomb queso on it with bacon and jalapeños. Their front patio is a good size, with a few fans blowing and turf instead of concrete which was a nice change. I love being on the East Side more these days and I would definitely add this to my list of go-to places!

This was a strange place. The drinks were not too overpriced. It got full fast, they suddenly started charging a cover charge. It was a different crowd. Not amazing but not bad.

Didn't think I could get a bad taco or margarita in this town. But it turns out, you can. I'm not even sure what she served me was a margarita. The annoying thing is that also make you do two separate transactions for the food and drink. Disappointing spot.

Kind of a weird place that looks like it needs an update. Weird crowd as well. All made sense except me being there. Bartender was nice. Couldn't make a margarita for my friend though. Tasted like a lime with a straw in it.

The place has a punk rock goth industrial feel. It's got attitude. Simple. Open. Good lighting. No frills. Dive bar. Rough around the edges but not unwelcoming. Serves food. Has a photo booth and pool tables. Not my style but I like it.

It would be nice if they weren’t so rude about the masks. This whole thing is obviously a conspiracy to take our power away even more and plenty are giving into it. They just don’t have to be so rude about it. Otherwise the food was good. I wouldn’t go here again though but that’s just my personal opinion and where I stand on people being rude about masks.

No cash!!! Love the music and polite staff...BUT ..Not cool no cash AND no warning!! I've been hacked, and my $50 tah isn't worth the risk :-( I received a quick reply..TYTYTYTY..but not quite accurate. The door man who carded me didn't tell me No cash..BUT i understand, I'm in the minority. I did read it on the menu no cash... ..I got up to leave, and the waitress stopped me saying I didnt see you...I explained that I didn't know no cash until I read the menu.. the waitress apologized, but i explained that I understood, BUT I never would have come in had I known the no cash policy. Unless you have been hacked you will not understand my story

They have a section of records, live music, and a small selection of liquor. It was small and loud with a garage door to a covered seating area. There is nothing wrong with any of this! The bar tenders were really nice too! It was clearly a converted bar. It just wasn't what I exspected off of it's page and reviews. I was expecting this lgbtq+ friendly focused bar in the city and it felt more like a corner bar anywhere in Wisconsin.

Staff are very nice. Price point is good. Location is good. Bathrooms are dirty and I was there on a cold night. They wouldn't shut the garage door after I asked and I froze (it wasn't crowded), so I left.

Food takes FOREVER. Food was decent but be prepared to wait over an hour for it. Bar staff was nice and was very attentive but kitchen moved at a snails pace. We didn’t order a fancy steak or complicated meal...we ordered wings and tots and it took 1.5 hours. This was on a Thursday where they advertise $.75 wings. You would figure the food would come out within a decent hour.

The owner is insanely rude. Will take my friends and my money somewhere else next time. The drinks are super watered down. Don't mind paying an "Austin tax" but I expect soemthing in return. Edit: owner came up and screamed at me. What he calls fake reviews is everyone else's version of honesty. I had a problem with this bar almost a year ago, I was buying drinks for 3 friends and 3 sets of girls with 2-3 girls in each group so i racked up a $200 tab in almost an hour. When i went to the bar i asked for another round, the bartender said in a mean, unappreciative disrespectful voice "you're done, you're done"! I defended myself by stating i was not drunk and that i owned a bar and this is not how i would have approached this situation. I did not write a review then, almost a year later i woke up with a task, to hire bartenders for my new restaurant in NW Austin, i am considering what avenues i will use to recruit, i go to indeed, poached, intheweeds and then the oldy but maybe Craigslist, as i am on Craigslist the first add i see is Drinks hiring bartenders. It brings back memories, i decide to reply with an email because the way i was treated that day is still to this very day bothersome, here is part of his response below. I think he was trying to insult me. "Glad to see you’re up early looking for a bartender job on Craigslist to help supplement your Uber driver income. You made sure to repeatedly tell everyone that you own a bar. We hope business picks up and wish you the best of luck." It is true, i drove Uber this past year as i sold my bar in CC as i looked for a new spot to open up where the economy is much better, my home town, Austin TX, my hard work has paid off as i will be opening a new unique venue November 15th. He is still trying to get under my skin and come at me with evil. A simple apology is all i have ever wanted. Do not go here, from what the neighborhood says, they are racist, unless you are a female or covered with tattoos or a transplant they do not want you there. I am Austin TX born and raised, i guess he just wants my kind gentrified.

I usually don't leave bad reviews at all. The service was not that good. Waitress forgot about us. Another waitress noticed all of our empty cups and took them.. Drinks did not taste good, had to send one back due to a really bitter taste. Food was good but I never knew anywhere that would take 20 to 30 minutes on nachos. I was pretty excited to try it, one and done. But hey whatever floats your boat! Edit since I seen the reply. Twice my age. I'm 26, so if someone is 13 going in there geez. And respect women? I am a women. And asked to leave? I clearly checked out with my two other friends and had someone chase me down to give me the free cup that changes colors. Now if you like to lie you have to be better then that now idiots. I will gladly tell anyone I know not to go there. And as the owner you should be a little more professional 😊

Shut down their neighbors Coral Snake and High Noon during 2024 SXSW after dropping the ball on a showcase collab between three. Not neighborly or Austin-like at all, that's just them being sad they missed out because they had the foresight of a mole rat. Save your money, there are friendlier places within spitting distance.

i really liked the bartenders but the vibes the owners gave off were incredibly corporate?? i’m not sure how to explain it but it really made the bar seem fake. i find that hard to believe with an austin local but its the vibe they give off.

Staff, or it was probably even management, who made it seem like I wasn't wanted at this establishment. I'm not sure what I did, or even if I did anything to rub anyone the wrong way. All I was there for was to pick up the food items I ordered. Maybe this spot is not for everyone 🤷🏽‍♂️ Personally, this place seems to be phony, and their trying too hard to create a certain type of atmosphere that they themselves don't even truly come from. I'm pretty sure back in the days, it was a true to its core establishment for all kinds of music lovers and chill people... but not today. You're not missing anything special from this place. Unless you're one of they regulars 😉 In all honesty, there are so many, many, many other cool, chill, and fun atmosphere places in Austin to experience that Austin vibe that one can frequent besides this place 🤙🏼
