An amazing ramen experience in San Francisco! We discovered this place during our trip and absolutely loved it. The ramen was incredibly flavorful, with rich broth, perfectly cooked noodles, and fresh, high-quality ingredients. Every bowl was comforting and delicious. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and the staff were friendly and attentive. It’s the perfect spot to warm up and enjoy authentic ramen after a day of exploring the city. We would definitely come back and highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting San Francisco!

We had their special bbq spare ribs with mashed potatoes and tonkatsu shoyu ramen bowl. The ribs melt in your mouth like butter and the sauce was tangy and sweet. The ramen broth was filled with umami and delicious. Noodles were al dente and saffron and spinach was a nice unexpected addition. The atmosphere was cozy and cute. Featuring one long family table with about 6 tables for two inside and 5 or six tables outside. Parking is street only. Families with children about 6-8 years old were dining there along with couples and friends. Service was quick efficient and attentive without being distracting. Overall, The Spice Jar is highly recommended. We just stumbled upon it and feel like we won the lottery for a night out spot. Reservations are recommended after 6pm they got very busy by then.

Casual corner depot perfect when in the mood for Asian, but not quite decided on cuisine. Clever interior, with a few outdoor tables. Laksa noodle soup, flavorfully authentic — a surprise especially considering ramen shares a place on menu. Great for walk-in lunch, weeknight dinner or non-committal first date.

What a fun hidden gem! I came here with a friend with no reservation and no line on a Thursday night. Good: - Loved the laksa noodle soup here - so much flavor and the coconut flavor was very pronounced and good. - The fries here were great and I loved the dipping sauce - Good place for a catchup - it was nice and quiet inside and good clean vibes that felt homey - Staff were so kind and willing to help! - Good value! Bad: - Took a bit for entrees to come out! Overall this was a great find, and tucked into a nice corner of the mission. I will be back!

Homemish atmosphere with delicious Asian Californian fusion. Generous portions, very nice service, and good value. Lovely broccoli tempura, great calamari salad, and Mongolian beef wok. Pork ramen was closer to Malaysia style, just sadly with hard boiled eggs.

Delicious Asian fusion comfort foods. Pork belly baos were out of this world; crispy calamari salad was excellent; and chicken and shrimp laska noodle soup; and 7 spices salmon was just okay, a little on the dry side.

First time trying The Spice Bar and it was delicious! We ordered the calamari salad, garlic noodles, and the tempura Brussel sprouts. The flavors in every dish were perfect.

I had the curry chicken with rice and veggies. A simple dish but so flavorful and everything was cooked perfectly. The chicken was crispy yet juicy, the curry was DELICIOUS and the veggies were pickled in a sweet vinegar. Great meal with generous portions!!

Delicious and reasonably priced for San Francisco, post-pandemic/world wide inflation. Chicken katsu was perfectly tender with a curry sauce that's not salty.

This place is incredible. We had the wings, miso eggplant, fried rice and bao. Everything was exceptional. Beautifully played, delicious, and when the bill came….I couldn’t believe it. So reasonably priced! If this place was on Valencia, it would be 2 x as much. You need to check this place out. It is seriously a gem.

I recently had a delightful meal at The Spice Jar in San Francisco’s Mission District, and it’s quickly become one of my favorite spots for flavorful Asian-fusion cuisine. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt cozy and inviting - perfect for a casual dinner or a relaxed lunch with friends. The staff were friendly and welcoming, helping guide us through the menu with enthusiasm. The menu offers a wonderful mix of bold, comforting dishes. I especially enjoyed the rich laksa noodle soup, which was packed with a fragrant coconut broth and generous portions of shrimp and chicken. The fried rice and garlic fries with curry mayo were standout sides that paired beautifully with the entrees. Many dishes balance spice and depth of flavor in a way that feels both exciting and comforting. Portions are hearty, and everything felt fresh and thoughtfully prepared. Overall, The Spice Jar delivers excellent value with creative recipes, great service, and a relaxed vibe that makes you want to linger. I left already planning what I’ll try on my next visit - this is a hidden gem worth seeking out in the city!

Quaint. The calamari salad was to die for. It can get loud and out table was by the door so a lot of foot traffic. Place was packed on a Friday night. But that's a good sign. Food was delish, portions were hearty and price was fair

Incredible food! Service was just ok. Our table had: - Tempura brussels - Garlic green beans - Ramen - Mongolian beef Green beans were really good. Think they could use more spice but I like a kick. Would def order again. Mongolian beef was incredible, omg!! Ramen was really good too. Brussels were heavily breaded, imo...would not order again. The service was...kinda weird. Table of four, brought two waters. Asked for food recs & they said they didn't eat much. After we got our food we didn't see them again til the check. Which was fine, didn't need them, but like I said it was weird service. Food made up for it tho.

The spice jar The spice jar is a solid place for Asian food of all kinds. The menu has a great variety of dishes and everything is really good. The prices range between 13 and 19 dollars per dish, depending if you go for lunch or dinner. Everything has the right amount of spice and flavor. I definitely will keep checking them out for their awesome dishes.

I got the chicken wings and the Laksa while my friend got the stir fry. The food was good, nothing great. Considering the quality of Asian food in the Bay Area, this place isn’t worth recommending or going back to.

Let me start by saying that my wife and I were both super excited to go here because of the great reviews and the amount of dishes. We went there for a Saturday night dinner and started off with the Vietnamese coffee for her and Nigori Sake for me. She loved the coffee however it was not made with typical Vietnamese ingredients. It seemed like chicory coffee instead of Vietnamese ground coffee. We also ordered the Korean Wings, Garlic Fries with curry mayo, Pork Bao, and Tonkatsu Ramen. The Korean Wings were cooked really well and were pretty sticky but the taste was incredibly sweet. The Garlic fries with curry mayo were the best part of the meal but again there wasn’t anything that stood out except perhaps that the curry powder used was the Japanese brand. The Tonkatsu Ramen ( one of the main reasons I went there) was super bland. The broth barely had any flavor. I kept having to add Sriracha to get some flavor. There was no umami, definitely no Tonkatsu. It had pork belly, which would’ve been fine if it was actually good. It was not! I am an avid lover of Ramen. This was not good ramen. The noodles were somehow undercooked and barely edible. The Pork Bao tasted like balsamic vinegar and sherry with too much sweetener. It had none of the notes of authentic pork bao. You can find authentic pork bao on Clement st. To be honest, the pork was over cooked and incredibly fatty. The highlight was that the service was incredible. They were very attentive without being in your face. The service was a 5/5 but food was 2/5. It’s a good place to hangout after a few drinks but not meant for foodies, especially individuals looking for an authentic meal.

There are a lot of Indian food restaurants around the Inland Empire, this one by far the dirtiest. It's perhaps in the culture to serve with entitlement and I get it, but when I found a small peace of plastic in my chicken masala I lost it. Just take a look at their premises and you'll understand. That's how they roll, but I'm never going back.
