"A Symphony of Flavors in the French Quarter" Step into Tableau, and you're not just dining - you're embarking on a culinary jazz improvisation. This French Quarter gem hits all the right notes, from appetizers to mains, with the finesse of a seasoned blues musician. Let's start with the baked goat cheese, shall we? Paired with confit tomatoes and multigrain toast points, it's the culinary equivalent of a warm New Orleans welcome - creamy, comforting, and impossible to resist. You'll be tempted to lick the plate clean, but remember, you're in public. Next up, the red bean hummus. Now, I know what you're thinking - "Red beans in hummus? That's as out of place as a tuba in a string quartet!" But trust me, this dish tickles your taste buds in all the right ways. Served with cool cucumber slices, it's a refreshing twist that'll make you question everything you thought you knew about hummus. The truffle crab claws? Oh honey, they're the Louis Armstrong of the menu - bold, unforgettable, and quintessentially New Orleans. Louisiana blue crab takes center stage, backed by a truffle vinaigrette that'll have you snapping your fingers (and your claw crackers) in delight. But the real showstopper? The duck and andouille gumbo. This dish doesn't just sing - it belts out a soulful ballad that'll make you want to get up and dance. It's so flavorful, you might catch yourself trying to scoop up the last drop with your baguette when no one's looking. Our waiter, Jordan, deserves a standing ovation. Attentive, helpful, and probably moonlighting as a mind reader – he anticipated our needs before we even knew we had them. In the end, dining at Tableau is like attending a jazz fest for your taste buds. Each bite is a new riff, a fresh melody in an ever-evolving composition of Creole cuisine. So go ahead, let your palate improvise - at Tableau, every meal is a standing ovation.

We loved to have dinner there! Great spot to enjoy Jackson Square vibes and live street musicians. Got our table at the second floor balcony. Nice and friendly customer service. Menu had great variety of different dishes and cocktails. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. Our waiter was attentive and sweet to all our requests. Place itself is big with different seating options. We were happy and I recommend this place for amazing service!

Def pricey, but the food was amazing and the vibe super chill. (I did come on a Thursday evening though). The fish almondine was divine, and the tart was yummy (if filling). My waiter James was so nice and attentive. It’s really close to, but still off of, Bourbon street so it’s a little more chill. The vibe inside was relaxing, and the dining room was not full.

Enjoy a nice ambiance with great food an cocktails? I highly suggest this spot. Great Customer service and remarkable cuisines. They offer a variety of dishes along with cocktails and wine. You have a choice of indoor or outdoor seating. Very well known by locals and tourists. Great for business meetings, special occasions and especially romantic settings. I always go here whenever I am in town visiting family and friends. Our server, Anthony, was simply amazing so ask for him. I love the ambiance, staff, cocktails and entrees. You must try the custard dessert or chocolate cake! ENJOY!!!

Our server was absolutely amazing! And the view from the balcony was wonderful. Being able to dine while listening to street performers, and just taking in the vibe from Jackson Square was an amazing experience. The blue crab in truffle was terrific for an appetizer, and the cheese board was excellent. I really enjoyed the chicken tableau, and my family enjoyed the filets, burgers, and risotto. A definite must if you're visiting the quarters.

Great place in New Orleans. Had French onion soup. Was huge. Had crème brûlée was delicious

Amazing dining experience from beginning to end. I booked a reservation for our anniversary, and my partner and I were seriously impressed by the professional service and delicious courses. Located in the French quarter, the balcony was peaceful and perfect for people-watching. A great spot for a special occasion or just a memorable night out.

An amazing classy place to eat. The staff gave all of the extra personality and service you would expect but don't always receive from a higher end establishment. Ask Mya nicely and she will hook you up with the best Arnold Palmer known to man.... seriously it was so good the next day I was eating at a different restaurant and snuck over just to get another glass of her special mix.

Very romantic place. The drinks and appetizers were exceptional. Great date night date. *crab dip, and crab claws

Fantastic late afternoon lunch! I really enjoyed the Red Snapper. The Turtle Soup was unique and super tasty! We enjoyed our lunch on the balcony overlooking Jackson Square with a Jazz Band below. It was relaxing and service was super quick, which we were thankful for since we were so hungry! The chargrilling on the snapper was perfect!

Tableau goes out of their way to make sure you’re table is having a great birthday. All the food is upscale and for the quality, reasonably priced. Salad was included and also unexpected. Excellent craft cocktails and wine selection. The location is the perfect distance away from bourbon street to make your meal intimate and was easy to find. I highly recommend and we’ll be back!

We came for happy hour to have dinner and celebrate my wife’s birthday and it was wonderful! Even though it was rainy and we couldn’t sit out on the balcony it was still so nice. Our server Ashleigh & busser Taylor were so nice and friendly, honestly they both made the whole experience. Food and drinks were great!

We enjoyed a delicious brunch at a balcony table with an amazing view of Jackson Square. The service was very attentive and the atmosphere was really relaxed. While everything we ordered was very tasty, the Brown Butter Gnocchi starter was fantastic, as well as the Tarte a la Bouillie dessert. All of the dishes were prepared with care. I would definitely revisit Tableau our next time in New Orleans.

Made a date night plan with me and my girlfriend, in town for the weekend and this restaurant really set the tone for New Orleans. Staff was amazing and friendly complementing my girlfriend and myself. Our waiter James was an outstanding professional and a delightful waiter always right around the corner for any need. The French onion soup, the crab claws, the bread, and the crème brûlée were fantastic. If you’re in town for the weekend definitely recommend going here for a date night.

Visited Tableau for Brunch, and had a balcony reservation to take in the unrivalled views. We were seated on the “shade” side of the balcony and it was COLD. We were the ONLY diners in the whole place, and we asked to move to the sunny side of the balcony, or even inside, and our server told us we would have to go in, go downstairs and ask to be moved to a new table, and then wait for a new one. So we stayed on the balcony which detracted from our experience. Suggest some blankets are left out, or even patio heaters are installed. All that aside though - I can’t recommend this place enough. I had the FRIED OYSTER PAN ROAST with fried oysters, brie, ciabatta, applewood bacon, honey crisp apples, Herbsaint cream. I honestly think it’s one of the best things I’ve eaten in the Quarter (and I’m slowly working my way around it all!). It was delicious! We also got bread to start which I think is quite rare in New Orleans - we’ve only had this common gesture in Tableau, Commanders Palace, and of course GW Fins (fluffy biscuits!). The Bloody Mary was good too I enjoyed all the usual fixin’s and a good spice level. Service from Miss Ruby was exceptional, and we finally know what the Blue Angels are! The place is stunning inside, and I’ll definitely be back for an inside (warm) dinner on our next visit.

Outstanding restaurant. Great service and the food was perfect. My appetizer was Shrimp and they were delicious. Prepared perfectly and the presentation was as good as the food. My dinner was blackened Redfish topped with Grilled Chicken Breast. The entire staff were very professional and willing to assist with our smallest needs.

Being in town for only the weekend, we wanted to make the most of our time here and we're hoping to have some great food. We called Tableau for a Sunday night dinner and they told us to come right over. We ended up being so happy we did. Drinks were great, food was great, service was great (we loved Ruby!)

A

The food here is absolutely delicious! Our server Ruby made the experience five stars with her excellent customer service!! You must come here for dinner if you want a fabulous experience all around!! We will return for sure!

I can understand the high prices given the location and view. We sat on the balcony which was requested for a birthday occassion and was accomodated. We all had the shrimps with grits which was delightful as a Sunday brunch option. We received a "happy birthday" créme brulée, which was a nice touch. Good cocktails and friendly service.

We went to Tableu for our anniversary dinner as recommended by our Grey Line tour guide. Our server was exceptional and made sure we were well taken care of during our visit. The French onion soup was to die for! The steak my husband added to his meal did not taste right, but our waitress tool care to remove it from the ticket and let the chef know it was a bad steak. Everything else was delicious. Best creme Brule I've ever had.

Nestled in the heart of the city, "Tableau" is a culinary gem that promises an exquisite dining experience. From the moment you step in, the sophisticated yet welcoming ambiance sets the perfect tone for a memorable evening. The menu at "Tableau" offers a delightful array of dishes that cater to various palates. The standout dish was the Shrimp and Grits, boasting a perfect blend of flavors that left a lasting impression. The diverse selection ensured there was something for everyone, from delectable vegetarian options to succulent meat dishes. The service was impeccable, with a staff that exuded warmth and professionalism. While the prices were slightly on the higher side, the quality of the food and the overall dining experience justified the cost. The portions were generous, and the presentation of each dish was nothing short of art.

The gnocchi and French onion soup are great. First visit here, would definitely love to return.

The restaurant is elegant and clean with a classy, comfortable vibe. Loved the holiday decorations. We ordered cocktails and wine and had a lovely dinner. The pork belly appetizer was outstanding! The ceasar salad was fresh with excellent, zippy dressing. Sadly, no watermelon radishes as stated on the menu. The menu is very small and we would love a different beef offering - coulotte steak is not for everyone. I would like to see the server being more attentive to cleaning the table between courses - awkward moments. Would highly recommend Tableau to all our friends visting The French Quarter.

We stumbled upon this restaurant while celebrating my niece's birthday. We made reservations, we were served at the bar till our table was ready. Then we were greeted with one of the most amazing soul! Our waitress was Ruby! She was incredibly attentive, gave us a tour of the grounds and shared the history, amazing service, but she did more than just "serve us dinner" she created a memory. A bond. A laughter. When you are able to leave a restaurant with such a remarkable experience, that's when you know you were at the right place! If you are looking for a mouth watering delicious meal with the vibe of Nola! Go here and ask for Ruby!!!!

Fabulous food, great service and a welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant is light and airy, and it's not cheap, but then you get what you pay for. The demi royal starter for the table was delicious, especially the blue crab fondue. My partner had the seafood bouillabaisse entree, which was top notch, and I had the summer seafood pasta, which was fabulous. Definitely worth a visit if you're looking for an excellent dining experience.

The service was absolutely phenomenal! Ruby, our server was fantastic and extremely thoughtful! As far as the food goes, it's all delicious. You won't have any regrets! I would give the food and the atmosphere 10 stars if I could, and the service 20 stars!!!

Five Stars for Tableau – and for James! We had the absolute pleasure of dining at Tableau in New Orleans for my birthday, and let me tell you, it was unforgettable. From the moment we were seated, our server James made us feel like we were being welcomed into a warm, elegant family home. His service struck the perfect balance of professional and personable: attentive without hovering, funny without overstepping, and somehow managing to anticipate our needs before we even knew we had them. Between the three of us, we sampled three appetizers, a soup, a salad, two entrées, and two desserts and James guided us through it all with ease, making great recommendations and making us feel like VIPs every step of the way. The food was absolutely delicious, but the real standout of the night was James. His energy and care elevated the entire experience and made it the highlight of my birthday trip to New Orleans. If you’re visiting the city and want a meal that feels special from start to finish, Tableau is the place — and if you’re lucky enough to get James as your server, you’re in for something truly exceptional.

Really good, high quality food and excellent service! Be aware, it is quite pricy. We ordered the Brown Butter Gnocchi, Grilled Pork Chop and Gulf Fish Almondine. All of these were very yummy and filling though the gnocchi was pretty small and VERY buttery. Also ordered the Uptown and La Petite Theatre cocktails which were delicious - the Uptown was sweet but not overly so, the Theatre highlighted the repsado flavor a lot more. Service was great, we went at an off time and didn’t need the reservation (though we did make one just in case). Definitely get one for busier times though!

This is by far my favorite place in NOLA. The Redfish was perfect and the shrimp and grits did not disappoint. They made a wonderful Bloody Maria and our server Carlo made the experience perfect. He was very knowledgeable about what meals they could modify to be gluten free and they had a gluten free menu. I can’t wait to go back!

Excellent gambo: duck and sausage. Very pleasant dining room and a nice courtyard. To find it one has to navigate the street closed by construction.

This restaurant offers a refined dining experience—from the crisp cloth napkins placed gently on your lap to the white tablecloths, fresh silverware with each course, and attentive staff in uniform and ties. A local warned us the service might disappoint, but that couldn't have been further from the truth. We started with flash-fried Brussels sprouts that were perfectly seasoned and crisp. My son ordered a breakfast dish he raved about, while I had a fresh salad topped with generous lump crab meat. My husband enjoyed pork and grits, which came in a hearty portion—much larger than our meals, which were on the smaller side. Their mocktail menu was a delightful surprise, the Bloody Mary was spicy and undrinkable and we ended our meal with dessert sorbet and upside down blueberry dessert. Every detail was well thought out, right down to the filtered water, which was noticeably clean and refreshing. Service was impeccable throughout. While portions vary and the price is around $50 per person, the experience felt worth it. I’d absolutely recommend it.

I had the opportunity to visit this restaurant with my husband, daughter, and her boyfriend and we had an amazing time! To start, the hostess, Rashari, was friendly, kind, and courteous. While she was prepping to show us to our table, she acknowledged the next group that came in. (I hate when I arrive at an establishment and I am ignored. At least let me know you see me. Even if you dont seat me!) Anyway, she was great! She showed us to our seats and informed us that our waitress will be with us shortly. While we briefly waited for our waitress to arrive, I noticed the beautiful decor, the soft lighting, and the peaceful music Playlist that played in the background. It was a beautiful setting. Jessica, our waitress, came over and gave us the menu storyline! Her story telling was so, she swayed what we originally wanted to order! I have pictures to show our final choices. Jessica was funny, attentive, and personally, I think she was a mind reader! When we had a need, she just showed up with it! Amazing isn't a big enough word to describe her! She made our visit such a wonderful experience I look forward to a future visit! Ok, now let's talk about the food. The stars of the evening were the entrees. Although we ordered different dishes, we tried each other's dish and the top runners were my redfish (Gulf fish Almondine) and my husband's steak (Brandy Cream Coulotte)! The steak was so good his eyes seem to roll behind his head with ecstasy! My fish was satisfying and seasoned to perfection! We had two desserts, but my favorite was the Blueberry Upside-down Financier! Everything was great! A little warning, the website menu and what are in my pics do not match. We learned that the items will change seasonally, so have an open mind when you arrive and the menu is different from what you may see online.

Excellent menu! Had the crab cakes, gumbo (delicious, Smokey, savory) and the white bread pudding (generous portion)! Chill, elegant ambience. Wonderful waitstaff and Chef/cooks. Ruby was our bartender/host and was AMAZING! Sweet, funny, informative and professional! Will request Ruby every time!

Our waitress Ashleigh was amazing. Super attentive and answered all our questions. Didn’t rush us at all either. We got the ribeye special and it was the best steak I’ve had. The creme brûlée is huge and easily shareable! Highly recommend!

Absolutely exquisite experience. We had a reservation for the Jazz Brunch. The space is gorgeous, and a jazz trio was playing live music. Delightful! Our table had a view of the courtyard and the open kitchen. Our server, Meg, was incredible. So professional and a real sweetheart! Honestly, the whole staff was terrific and seemed like a family. We each had a cocktail. My friend ordered the Just As Well, I got a Bloody Mary. Both were exceptional. We started with the Blue Crab Fondue. This was a stunner- creamy, crabby heaven. I had the Maison Salad and fell in love with the dressing. So delicious! I also had the Creole French Onion Soup, which was fantastic. My friend loved his Gulf Fish Sandwich. I tried the fries- handout (my favorite) and perfectly salted. We had planned to order dessert, but we were so full. No worries as it is something to look forward to on my next visit.

This was easily one of my favorite dining experiences in New Orleans. The food was delicious, and our server, Jessica, went above and beyond to make lunch truly memorable. I can’t wait to come back next time I’m in town!

Tableau felt welcoming and fun, also with the excellent live music. The duck and andouille gumbo was rich and comforting - super flavorful, like real New Orleans comfort food. Shrimp and grits hit the spot, with tender shrimp, smoky sausage, creamy grits and tasty garlic chips. Every bite felt like a treat and honestly made the whole meal feel special and laid-back at the same time.

¡ 100% recomendado !

Might have been my favorite food on my trip in New Orleans. I celebrated Valentine’s Day with my partner and despite wanting to sit on the balcony (which expectedly would have a long wait time without a reservation), their outdoor courtyard was beautiful and romantic! Highly recommend.

Everything about this place was amazing, from the Prosecco to the appetizers and my Steak and Eggs entrée. But the very best part was our server, Jessica, who was so kind, welcoming, and engaging throughout the meal. Thank you so much for making my friend’s 30th birthday brunch special!

I was in New Orleans for a holiday. I read the reviews about the creme brulee, and it was amazing! I have never had this dessert before. It was out of this world! I haven't found anything close at other places during my stay. Ofcourse, this spot is also known for its famous balcony seating and views. I had gotten the creme brulee and a regular black coffee (no sugar/cream), it was a good combination. The view was not too bad either. Definitely felt like I was in a central european town.

The service staff and manager were amazing! Surprisingly the manager comp our bottle of wine since they didn’t have the one we ordered - pretty fantastic and rare nowadays. This restaurant is definitely our new favorite in NOLA!

Ate here 1/3/26 for dinner. Good place for solo diners. From the outstanding service by Ashleigh and all the service team, I felt welcomed by their high level of attention. After I finished dining, the hostess even walked me out to show me where to get a Lyft pick up. Because there is a lot of street construction going on right around the restaurant and you cannot drive up to it right now. The food is truly divine. From the delicious House salad with a lemon dressing to the Tableau chicken and the upside down apple cake for dessert, each item was delicious and unique. And yes, I’m saying the tableau chicken is unique. I’ve never had anything like it in any other restaurant. You really should try it. As well as that upside down apple cake with the olive oil ice cream. I was a little hesitant about that ice cream, but Ashleigh assured me that it was a perfect match for the Apple cake-and she was right. Tableau will definitely be on my list for my next NOLA visit. If the weather is nice, ask for a table on the balcony. It overlooks Jackson Square.

Absolutely fantastic experience. Watching the restaurant transition from happy hour into dinner service was like a perfectly staged production. Massive shoutout to Ruby and Nani for outstanding bar service, and to Mr. Rick for setting a high standard of hospitality without cutting corners. The balcony facing Jackson Square offers the best seat in the house, even with ongoing street improvements, and the heaters were much appreciated on a cool evening. Between the beautiful courtyard, multiple stunning dining rooms, and the connection to the historic Le Petit Theatre, it’s clear this place is exceptionally well managed—kudos to Kevin and the entire team. Highly recommend.

Highly Recommend! We went to the Sunday Jazz Brunch to celebrate my 9 year old’s birthday. Ruby made the whole experience so special and a birthday to remember. Between the birthday hat, special kids drink, desserts, singing, band playing “Happy Birthday” and accommodating his off the menu meal request, we are all blown away by the hospitality and amazing customer service. All our meals were delicious (we got the seared drum and bottomless mimosas) and can’t wait to go back on our next Nola visit.

Precioso restaurante fenomenal ubicado. La comida buenísima. Hemos compartido los scargotts y colas de cangrejo con trufa, espectaculares. El servicio excelente. Beautiful spot next to Jackson Square to dine in. We had a wonderful waitress to take care of us. The Mason Salad was great. The chicken and sausage gumbo was okay. We got the risotto with grilled chicken to share but we didn’t like it much. Apparently we didn’t order their best items so I wasted our visit on some regular items that could have been better somewhere else. However the attentiveness of the staffs and the ambience of the restaurant were really much above average. Thank you.

The patio overlooking the quarter was adorable. I appreciated the aesthetic of the restaurant and thought the design was fantastic. The food was good, but just good. There were 4 of us, and none of us loved our meal. However, I will say the creme brulee was quite a treat!

Came to celebrate a birthday and everything we ordered was delicious. Cocktails are also great. Would recommend for a special occasion. Courtyard area is nice and quiet, great if the weather permits. Service was quick and professional. Would also recommend making a reservation ahead of time.

The location is spot on if you want to sit outside; There’s both upstairs and downstairs but outside seating if offered upstairs only. Servers were nice and the atmosphere was romantic but on the second floor, the busboys and busgirls were playing family feud on one of the TVs and cussing up a storm over to the side. Overall, the place was great! The gnocchi is a must have but the gumbo was slightly burnt/smokey and the duck was lacking.

We have eaten at Tableau several times. These are really nice people and we love the restaurant. The view from the gallery is superb and with the roof that has been added, is not bad even in the hot sun. It’s a great spot to have afternoon cocktails and watch the spectacle. Many people really like the food but for us it is okay. Not bad, just really not up to New Orleans better dining standard’s in my opinion.

Good food and service , a bit pricey for the quality but a very nice setting in a busy French Quarter

D

Tableau strikes a lovely balance between ambience and approachable refinement. Its setting—especially on the balcony or courtyard—is ideal for people-watching or savoring a quieter moment in the French Quarter. And while some dishes occasionally fall short, others like the gnocchi, turtle soup, shrimp & grits, and crème brûlée frequently earn genuine fanfare.

S
Scott Biggs

There are so many wonderful things about Tableau that I liked, such as our waiter Jordan, the balcony, the bars, but I was really here for the food. It sadly was not what I expected from a Brennan's restaurant. We had the shrimp & grits and the Gulf fish almondine. Both lacked flavor, which down here is incredible to say. I had to add salt and ample Tabasco just to be good. Not what we were hoping for. The crab crepe appetizer was delicious as was the toffee dessert. Everything else was wonderful and 5 ⭐.

A

Tableau was pretty great, but probably did not live up to our expectations fully (which is why the 1 less star). We went here on a Saturday night (with a reservation) but it wasn’t really that full anyways. Our server was very nice, he even showed us a cool trick with a cocktail bottle! We ordered the mussels (which were great), grilled octopus (which was okay), the escargot (which was kinda underwhelming), the french onion soup (which was absolutely fantastic) and some cocktails and dessert. Overall, it was good and I’d even go back here and maybe order some different items. Would recommend trying out!

We love the patio on the second floor. Beautiful setting up, perfect lighting with three different light temperatures. We do not like much about food. We are actually expecting more flavors of each dish. Great cocktails, great flavor. Intuitive and friendly services.

Location was great, we sat at balcony over look at the view of the street and Jackson square. I read the review about food, most reviews recommend Truffled crab claw which I ordered but honestly not a fan of this one even though I do like crab. Shrimp and Grits was okay but Fish entree was deliciously amazing!!!(don’t remember the name) drinks was good too. Overall we have a great time there.

We made a reservation and asked for patio seating — it was so perfect! The view down the street is fun, bands walked by playing music, and the ambiance was so special. Our waiter was attentive and polite, the food came out with good timing. Cocktails were good, well balanced. Only complaint was the pork chop was a bit too chewy. Everything else was delish! Will be back!

Fabulous 1st night in New Orleans! Our server, Kadek, was professional, polite & friendly. The food was delicious & perfectly cooked. The crème brûlée was the best I've ever had. Truly a memorable meal.

Usually a five star restaurant for us. Food has changed. French onion soup, while somewhat tasty, was 80% bread. Cheese was not flavorful. The crab claws were tasty but exceptionally small. In a coastal city mediocre seafood is unacceptable. Roasted chicken was crispy and very tasty as was the almondine fish. Both were excellent. Creme Brulee requires a delicate technique to make it correctly. This version at Tableau didnt make the mark. The custard was not firm as it should be. It was almost runny. The brulee was too burned. The Bouliie was tasty for the first third of the pie cut but then the filling was not filling the entire piece. The dough was so tough I couldn't even cut it with a knife. The caramel drizzle had an overbearing taste of liquor that through the entire pastry taste balance off. This is the second time we have visited that the desserts were sub par. Really disappointed in the desserts. Staff however was exceptional and the decor and ambiance wonderful. Looking forward to seeing attention being given to the desserts and appetizers

It's in a great location off of Jackson Square. We stopped in for a quick lunch, had the gumbo and grilled shrimp. The gumbo was first rate, not my favorite of the trip but close. The grilled shrimp were also good.

If you sit outside on the second floor (not in the garden), you’ll likely have the chance to enjoy street-style jazz from Jackson Square. The food was just okay, but I buy the combination of food and atmosphere, so it’s good overall.

My family and I chose Tableau for our Christmas Eve celebration. The restaurant came highly recommended and the food was very good. I awarded 4 rather than 5 stars because perhaps the presentation of the food could have been a little nicer. I understand that we were there during a the rush, so perhaps our experience was not typical. The service, however, was excellent and made our evening. Our server was personable and encouraged us to make choices she thought we’d be happy with. She was run off her feet but always courteous. When the restaurant made a mistake with our order and brought the wrong food, they bent over backwards to make it right. The restaurant ambience was nice but not spectacular. Again, this may have been in part because there was construction outside, so the balcony would not have been as nice as always. The restaurant was full and quite festive but again, not overly so. We would go back.

To my surprise, the staff kindly accommodated my request to be seated on the balcony, even though the restaurant was quite busy that evening. I really appreciated that extra effort, especially as I was dining alone and sitting at a table in a prime location it made the experience feel very welcoming. I ordered the shrimp and grits with no sausage with a side of lump crab meat, and while everything was beautifully presented and rich in flavour, I realized afterward that I probably should have paired it with something acidic, like a light salad, to balance the richness. I also don’t drink wine anymore, which I suspect would have complemented the dish very nicely. The only minor complaint I have is that, while the shrimp were large and visually stunning, they had a slightly off flavor. Other than that, it was a wonderful meal and overall a great experience. I’d happily return and recommend it to others.

We enjoy exploring New Orleans every Mardi Gras, Tableau is highly recommend so we were looking forward to this one. Our Hostess Ken was a delight to talk to and truly made us feel welcome. The recommendations were excellent. Our Fondu was exceptional. The views from the Balcony were still enjoyable despite the current construction below. The staff was attentive though our server was distracted and unfortunately we felt neglected if not completely forgotten. The French onion soup was good, the gnocchi was underwhelming and unfortunately both arrived cold. I made due with the soup but even after reheating the gnocchi was a disappointment. The location and most of the staff were a pleasure. Our experience was fine but paying premium prices for a fine experience wasn’t the goal.

Our server was polite and attentive. The food was decent although not too much flavour but they came out timely, and the portion sizes respectable to their price. The truffle crabs leg meat was cold despite sitting in the warm brew (maybe this is how it’s served normally?).

Was sadly disappointed with the food here. The crab claws were too sweet and you get hardly any for the steep price point. The fries that came with the mussels were inedible from too much salt, and they overdid the pepper in the broth, it’s all my partner could taste. My duck was good, but better mushrooms should have been used for the risotto.

We chose this restaurant to celebrate a special moment together, as it appeared to be a fancy, upscale, and high-end place. The atmosphere and presentation suggested a premium dining experience, and because it was a celebration, we were happy to order some of the more expensive items on the menu. Unfortunately, our overall experience was quite disappointing. For our main courses, we ordered the chicken dish and the lamb. Neither of us enjoyed them at all. We are true food lovers and very open to different cuisines and flavors, and we are definitely not picky eaters. That said, the taste of the chicken was especially surprising—in a negative way. Chicken is usually a very “safe” option that works well almost anywhere, but the flavor profile here simply did not suit our palate at all. The lamb was similarly underwhelming and did not meet our expectations in terms of taste or balance. Before the main courses, we also ordered a duck gumbo, Unfortunately, that dish was also not enjoyable for us, and it set a tone that did not improve as the meal continued. While the restaurant has an elegant vibe and clearly aims for a refined dining experience, the flavors just did not align with our preferences at all. Sadly, despite our excitement and the premium pricing, this place did not deliver for us, and we would not personally recommend it based on our experience.

Currently sitting at my table right now. Came here to celebrate a birthday with some friends from out of town. the waitress was fantastic and personable. However the entrees ruined the night. We started with the Demi-Royale and the dip was by far the best. Entrees came out and the caesar salad had grapes on it?!? So weird. And the lettuce was sour. The Bouillabaisse is three mussels and one shrimp for 42$. It tasted horrible. We asked for boxes simply because we did not want to offend the pleasant waitress. We also celebrated a birthday here, which they never acknowledged or did anything. While it is not something I expect, the reservation highlighted the birthday and nothing was done. Tableau your food needs a lot of work.

Tableau presents itself as fine dining, but the experience does not live up to that promise. We ordered fried oysters, gumbo, lamb shank, and seafood bouillabaisse. While the appetizers arrived in a timely manner, there was a wait of over 30 minutes before the main courses were served. The pacing of the meal was disjointed and this gap made us keep munching on the baguette. The server to diner ratio was stretched, leaving our server tied up with other tables and requiring auxiliary staff to assist us. The seafood bouillabaisse was served with two pieces of toast resting on the soup. By the time it reached the table, the toast was already half soggy. The seafood bouillabaisse was bland. The lamb shank came with a disproportionate amount of beans. It needed some type of starch or grain to balance the lamb more effectively. Overall, while the food was enjoyable, the muted flavors and uninspired pairings make the menu feel overpriced. I do not recommend Tableau, and I would not return on future visits to New Orleans.

My experience was aggressively mid. Loud construction (not the restaurants fault) but first I was sat next to the generator near all these unbussed tables, when there were other spaces available on the balcony. I had to go downstairs and ask to be moved. Our waitress was pretty rude. No eye contact, no real greeting and just generally seemed to be having a bad day. The food was ok. The bill wasn’t itemized correctly so it showed a different price for something I’d ordered, $36 vs $46. It was the extra $10 for shrimp, but that wasn’t listed on the bill so I had to find the waitress to ask about it. Waited a while then just went inside and looked around to find her, gave me a 3 word answer, and that was it. I would avoid this place. Before coming here I did some researched and wondered if it was a tourist trap. I don’t think it is, but it’s just not very good. The bathrooms are also in a sad state, was hoping since this is a “nice” restaurant at least the bathrooms would be clean but nope. The hostess was really nice though. Every single thing after that was downhill. I apologized to my date for taking her to this bad experience.

Not worth the money, not worth the time. I’m not one of those to just post a bad review but this visit earned it over and over. With a $700 tab for 8 people you would think the waiter would be more interested in our table than he was. Food arrived like warm, really almost cold after we waited over an hour and a half for the main course. The $80 truffled clan claws for the family came with less than a dozen crab claws. Really? That’s AFTER we ordered the main course. Idk what we were thinking but after being there so long we decided to order desert. 45 mins later we cancelled the desert order only to have a frustrated waiter let us know the desert wouldn’t be on the bill. The 8 ounce filet arrived as a 4 oz filet. Waiter kept forgetting our drinks, . The room wasn’t over packed so “maybe they were slammed” isn’t really a factor. I’ll end on a good note, the French onion soup was an absolute 10! Maybe the best I’ve ever had!

Tableau has a whole webpage dedicated to their “Happy Hour on the Balcony!”. On the page, there are no explanations on how it works and no asterisks mentioning limitations. But there are limitations and they are offered with a side of rudeness. My wife and I went there on a Thursday for the happy hour on the balcony. The hostess was very hesitant and to seat us up there - not really wanting us to sit on the balcony. She asked if we were going to order food, and I said yes. Our waitress only made it worse. She wasn’t happy we were only starting with drinks. She literally said to us “this is prime real estate”, implying spend some money because everyone wants to be here. It was 3:15 and four tables were taken of the maybe eighteen that are out there. We had drinks and an appetizer and left. We were not welcomed there. You can see the photos of how prime that real estate is. Two tables were taken when we left at 4:15. Bottom line, their Happy Hour on the Balcony is not open to you!

While the restaurant itself is beautiful and the dishes were well-prepared, the service from Ruby left a lot to be desired. She seemed irritated the entire time, barely communicated with us, and ignored several requests. Our dessert was completely forgotten, adding to the frustration. It’s unfortunate that such a nice place allows this level of service.

Beautiful restaurant and excellent food, but the service from Ruby completely changed our impression. She seemed irritated and uninterested, and she even forgot our dessert. The overall experience ended up feeling unpleasant and far below what we expected from a restaurant of this level. Management should seriously address the service quality.

I am always hesitant to leave a negative review but I have reached out and heard nothing back. Our culinary experience at this establishment was horrendously bad. To start off we are from Louisiana, so we know what good creole/cajun food is supposed to taste like. First, the crab claws were in some odd, sweet butter sauce. It did not work. The salad was ok...now on to the main courses. We could not stomach the shrimp and grits. The crab meat was certainly not fresh from the Gulf. The grits were like glue and had ZERO seasoning and dumped with tasteless grease on top. The fish was so greasy we could not eat it. The shrimp had an off taste. I have no idea what kind of "gumbo" this was or intended to be. It was more of a bland watery soup. I was honestly offended they even called this dish gumbo with whatever kind of "mystery meat" was in it. The only good part about this meal was the bread and butter. The server was very nice and welcoming. The food was an embarrassment to Louisiana and New Orleans. I have had far superior meals at restaurants up north in Shreveport, Louisiana (which some jokingly call Arkansas). It's a shame we traveled all the way to New Orleans to have this garbage served to us. The kitchen should really consider tasting what they serve. It makes me sad how many people have never had Louisiana cuisine and think this is normal. The restaurant owners and operators should be ashamed and really need to rethink what they are serving.

I would give it zero if I could. It was not very good considering the prices. We made a reservation on a Sunday night for 6:30 just the 2 of us. It was as not very busy at all but it took forever. we didn’t get out of there until after 8:30. We ordered the oyster pan roast appetizer, there were 4 oyster and 1 piece of bread with a lot of broth. My husband got the andouille crusted fish and he liked it, I got the seafood bouillabaisse and it wasn’t fantastic and not much food. It had 2 calamari, 4 mussels and a small piece of fish. For desert he got the chocolate torte and I got the crème brûlée. They were both good. Later that evening I got sick with food poisoning.
