I'm not sure what it is that I love so much about this place, but its a great place if you want a coffee shop experience. Their coffee is solid, but I think its the atmosphere that is amazing. honestly, I may go elsewhere for a quick cup on the run. But, when I want to enjoy a cup of coffee, this is a great place.
Delicious coffee, fire breakfast burritos, and great vibes from the staff. What more can you ask for to start your day? 🤙🏼
Awesome food and ambiance! Was in town for four days and I had to stop here twice. Loved the #breakfastburrito! The space itself is also very nice. Side-note - I only had #tea to drink, but my friends liked the coffee.
Even though I have to drive 30+ miles to get to this coffee place from UC Riverside, it's totally worth it! This is the best coffee joint to study at if you snag a table inside the cafe. Their coffee and cold brew tastes great, and have yet to try their avocado toast. Maybe next time...
First timer from Texas. Smooth as silk. This is what those retail coffee stores wish they could grow up to be! Cappuccino, vanilla latte, & chai tea latte for our group. Tops all around. Then a bag of Ethiopian beans to take home and pour over. If you're close, and you love high end coffee, then don't miss this place! Enjoy! SW
There is honestly no other cafes in town that beats Kit Coffee for me. The food and drinks are both delicious, matcha creme brulee toast is a must get! The atmosphere is also very minimalistic and clean with high ceilings.
This place has a great atmosphere. The seating is good, the wifi is fast, the prices are bit high but it's worth it. Most importantly the coffee is good and the people working are very nice and pleasant. I highly recommend coming here.
Fantastic espresso. Simple menu, just the basics coffee-wise (ie.it's good). Didn't try the breakfast but the place was busy busy. Two choices of beans for espresso, with shots pulled superbly. Steamed milk was well textured and subtlely sweet. Oh and you can sit and enjoy your coffee in a real cup if you'd like. A+
Excellent coffee, great atmosphere and food. It’s been a while since I’ve had the pleasure of top notch service from a barista, but today my shot was pulled perfectly. This place is very well curated.
the orange creamsicle latte is one of the best things I’ve ever tasted. Usually busy—line out the door and limited seating. Worth the wait!!
This is one of my favorite places for casual coffee or meeting with clients. The drinks and food are great, ambiance is wonderful, and there are plenty of spots inside with chargers if you need to work on your computer. And there is a yoga studio nearby if you want to do your morning workout, then grab some coffee! Parking in front can be tough to find during peak hours but there is a lot next to the bank with plenty of spots. Highly recommend this location.
One of the best cappuccino on 17th. Would give this Cap a 4.7.
Tried the burrito and scrambled egg toast. Both were excellent. Ice latte was good too
We went here for coffee and to do a little work on our laptops. Ended up getting the avocado toast with locks on it and it was incredible. The coffee was really good as well. My wife's latte that she got was also delicious. It's a cute little spot and it's a great place to hang out, do some work and have a coffee. It's a place I'll definitely come back to
Trendy coffee shop, with really hearty food options and great drinks. The strawberry alarm clock drink with oat milk was amazing - my friend almost bought a second one on our way out. Parking is a little confusing. There is a complimentary valet around the corner that you have to use because of how the whole property is set up. You can’t park in front because of the other businesses there. Bathroom requires a code and it’s around the corner. You’ll have to go into the larger building that KIT is located within. Bathrooms are really clean though.
The coffee is great, the ambience is awesome and the staff are all friendly and super helpful. Plus, the 8 dishes they serve (including avocado toast) are exceptional! Amazing for a light brunch, if that's your thing. I spend hours here working - the wifi is great. Also $1 refills on coffee. Winning.
Kit Coffee is one of the best third-wave coffee places in Orange County. Modern, Scandanavian-style decor, upbeat and contemporary atmosphere, excellent coffee and a few decent food choices to round out the experience. Staff are friendly and stylish. Service is good too. Indoor and outdoor seating options. Being a popular place, it can be a little hard to find a freshly bussed and cleaned table, but overall one of the best options for a trendy coffee in Orange County.
A hip new spot in the Newport Beach area. Great coffee and tea with a simple clean menu. The place has a good modern vibe with amazing natural light and high ceilings. It's a great place to post up and work a little or just catch a coffee with friends. Lots of freelancers and students hang out here. The food is also surprisingly good.
We went there for breakfast. AMAZING drinks - we had strawberry oat milk latte and lavender matcha. The food was delicious - spring time avocado toast with scrambled eggs and the breakfast burrito. The atmosphere is very calming and pleasant.
Great coffee and breakfast/lunch. They have a small menu but everything is healthy and delicious. Their breakfast burrito is my fave but I sometimes branch out and have the soft scramble on avocado toast. Friendly staff, a relaxed vibe and modern decor - highly recommend.
One of the best cafe in Newport. Staff are friendly & coffee is awesome. Place is large so there are plenty of seats. Outside area is nice. The location is good there are some stores around. I didn’t had the chance to visit it until the last day here. Recommend & definitely worth a visit.
Rich, powerful coffee with no artificial flavors like the big chain coffee houses. People say this place is plain.. Its not, its simple.. Simple menu. Simple size, simple pricing. But the product is very complex. I had the Ethiopian straight and it was as complex and a 20 dollar bottle of wine. The cappuccino equally as impressive. Good energy people making good energy food. I will definitely be back.
From LA, but my wife found this place on a recent trip. Drinks and food were all really tasty and filling. Seating is limited, and people like to stick around. So you have to be on the lookout for available chairs/tables. They give you a table number and bring out your food and drinks. Lots of locals.
Kit is one of my all times favorites. I now live in NYC, but am originally from Newport Beach. I have to admit, this spot competes with all the high end coffee locales I've tried in the city. Whether you are looking for solid espresso, quality tea, amazingly satisfying breakfast, or the rarest single origin pour over you can find, Kit has it all. The open concept design, minimalistic aesthetic and natural light makes Kit a wonderful place for reading, studying, work, or catching up with a friend. I often meet people here and end up staying awhile. I never feel rushed and always enjoy my experience. There is free wifi and restrooms as well. Parking can be a challenge on weekend, but for the most part it is very easily assessable. The line may be long but it goes pretty quickly. I love the staff. Very personable and friendly. The coffee buyer, Josh, is a great friend of mine and we have bonded over coffee talks over the years. Kit is a great addition to the OC coffee scene and a fantastic small business. Love it!!
Cara was one of the sweetest and most helpful baristas I’ve had in a long time, just wanted to shout her out. Great coffee and really good food. Prices are comparable to other coffee shops of the same vibe.
New favorite coffee spot. Cold brew is super good.
I asked the barista to pick out a breakfast and coffee for me of her choice. She recommended yuzu honey ricotta toast and caramel latte. Two great choices with a beautiful interior. Service was fast. One complaint would be lack of indoor seating. I typically hate to sit outside but luckily it was another beautiful sunny socal day!
Lovely place to grab coffee and breakfast. They offer fun and unique seasonal drinks that are always a must try! Plus their breakfast burritos and toasts are amazing. You really can’t go wrong with whatever you choose. It’s also nice that they have kombucha on tap for when you’re in the mood for something bubbly and refreshing. The parking can be tricky, especially on weekends, but totally worth it.
My sister turned me on to this place! It is a really pretty space and there was a decent amount of indoor and outdoor seating. We tried their seasonal drinks, a boysenberry latte and creamsicle latte, and both were good. If you like your coffee to not taste like coffee definitely try the boysenberry. The creamsicle was just the right amount of sweet to still enjoy the coffee flavor. The cortisol wS also a fave especially with a side of sparkling water. It was so refreshing. The spring avocado toast was really fresh and I loved how well the goat cheese on it paired with the lemon vinaigrette. Parking was a little tricky because it was busy but it was free. There also appeared to be a complimentary valet. Would definitely love to go back.
Great little coffee shop! I love a fun latte and had to try their Strawberry Alarm Clock. Espresso, oat milk, and strawberry purée? Yes please! It was so good and I’m definitely making this drink one of my go-to’s. The burrito was nice as well and they have an assortment of yummy pastries to choose from.
This place is so cute! 🌿 I came by after yoga and loved that they don’t waste plastic — if you’re staying, they serve your drink in a nice glass. I didn’t try the food this time, but next visit I’m definitely getting the avocado garden toast. 🥑 The Passion Jasmine Iced Tea was refreshing! . ✨
We have been going to Kit for quite some time now and the Ube Latte is always the go to for us. Has great flavor and the little chunks at the bottom of the drink are like little boba pieces that are so good! Do not get the food too often, but tried out the toast with some bacon added and was pretty solid choice. Definitely recommend adding some bacon to the toast that you get!
This café offers a fantastic and well-organized menu with something for everyone. Here’s what you’ll find: - Avocado Toasts (from $11 to $18) It includes Caprese ($14), Garden ($14), Smoked with bacon ($15), Spring with goat cheese and lemon vinaigrette ($14), Hot ‘n Sweet with chili flakes and honey ($11), and Lox Avocado Toast with smoked salmon and lemon vinaigrette ($18) - Breakfast Burrito with scrambled egg, rice, hash browns, cheese, and bacon or chorizo ($16) - Cilantro Fried Rice with bacon, tomato jam, grilled onion, parmesan ($13) - Soft Scramble Toast with extra soft eggs and parmesan ($9) - Sunnyside Arugula Salad with avocado, vinaigrette, tomatoes, and two fried eggs ($13) - Extras and add-ons range from $1 to $5 - eggs, toast swaps, bacon, veggies, salad, etc. - Sweet Brulée Toast ($7) - caramelized brioche dusted with your choice of cinnamon, matcha, or sour cherry The sour cherry brulée toast is the highlight of the whole menu. It's something you've probably never tasted before - totally unique and insanely good! Highly recommended, it's really really delicious! They serves a wide range of drinks including espresso-based options like lattes, cappuccinos, and americanos, as well as brewed coffee and cold brew. And also offer a variety of teas, both classic and organic, including matcha, chai, jasmine, and herbal blends. There’s plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors, a restroom inside with a code, and free parking that’s usually easy to find. But the main reason to come here is the toasts. Especially the sour cherry brulée toast. You’ve never tried anything like this - it’s something completely new and absolutely delicious. Seriously, it’s really really good.
We stopped by just a few minutes before closing, having seen enticing photos of Kit’s avocado toast online, and the staff was so friendly and accommodating, they didn’t try to rush us out. I got one of the seasonal lattes which was perfectly balanced and not too sweet. Husband got the Purple Dream, an ube coconut milk-based drink. (Note: this was from a previous seasonal menu so selections will vary depending when you visit) The cafe is located in a busy Newport Beach shopping center. Seating at small tables and benches is available both inside and outside. A small shop with an assortment of small artisan crafted gifts and cards is fun to peruse as you wait for your order. Highlights: - Smoked Avocado Toast - lived up to expectations. Plenty of creamy avocado, crunchy bacon, and smoky flavor from the paprika. - Breakfast Burrito - hearty and filling, packed with chorizo, eggs, and cheesy hash browns. The rice didn’t have as much cilantro flavor as expected, but overall this was a solid and satisfying brunch choice.
After Pilates, I stopped by KIT Coffee for a much-needed caffeine fix, and it made my morning even better. The atmosphere is amazing—bright, welcoming, and just the right vibe to relax or get some work done. The staff is super friendly, which makes the experience even nicer. And of course, the coffee was delicious! Their beans have a lighter roast, giving the coffee a smooth, balanced taste that I really enjoyed. My friend enjoyed her Matcha latte as well❤️ Definitely a spot I’d come back to!
Love their coffee! The seatings are limited so I got it to go this time. It’s nice that they use clear to go containers so I can make sure I get the right item. I ordered online and they’ll put it on the side when it’s ready for you to pick up with your name on it! I usually sit down but wanted to go to the beach to eat so yup! Food was still delicious! I always stop here when I am in the area. Beware.. parking is a bit hard because this coffee spot is in a plaza! Lots of shops to walk around.
Nunca has probado nada igual: es algo completamente nuevo y absolutamente delicioso. En serio, es realmente muy bueno.
KIT Coffee offers a perfect blend of high-quality coffee, a welcoming atmosphere, and modern design, making it a must-visit spot for coffee enthusiasts.
Great food and drink, messy cafe with little seating and cleaning while busy, took 20m for avo toast and lucky we were waiting and talking. Good non coffee choices, good staff, poor seating and parking, but great atmosphere. Smoked Toast was great! Expensive, tea and toast $21 with tip
Cute but a bit loud for a coffee shop with steep pricing. Still a great spot though!
Good coffee and pastries but it's overpriced. $10 for a coldbrew and a cookie. Great customer service. Their interior is clean but their lobby needs to be better kept. The walls by the bars are dirty from people's shoes, etc.
Nice place with decent coffee but a bit pricey. They have a vast selection of coffee types, sources, roasts and brewing techniques. They also have a limited but good food selection and a small boutique type of section with fun useful items for sale. Plenty of parking in the mall but it can get busy at certain times of the day and during weekends.
I'm absolutely obsessed with their lattes. I always get almond milk lattes everywhere and theirs are always so creamy and delicious. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars (this is me being nit picky) is because any food order takes a very long time. The avocado toast is delicious, but takes a super long time to get.
Nice atmosphere. Delicious tea. My second visit was odd. I ordered an iced tea, easy ice. When it was ready, my iced tea was filled with ice. The employee then asked if i wanted light ice so i said yes. She then proceeded to take out the ice piece by piece with a small spoon while I was standing there waiting. I was working on something on my laptop so I had to go back to finish something up. But she never called my name again to let me know it was done. My tea was a lot colder than what I wanted.
Rather impressed, had an Ethiopian americano and it was one of the best I've had in a while. I'm usually a fan of Portola and Kean but stumbled upon this place this morning. It kind of has that portola vibe, with the hand crafted coffee and atmosphere. Must say that it was a lot faster to get in and out than I was expecting and the people were friendly and engaging. 4 stars because I've only been there once. I'll update if I go again and it's consistent.
First time visit..coffee prices very reasonable. Has the cilantro lime fried rice- excellent! Moderate price but good for the area. The horchata mate kind of men but the London Fog was good. Nice outdoor patio..we would go back
Service were okay but they could have been clear whether they bring the food out or we go pick up. They gave us a number and was told they will bring it. Then our latte was ready sitting there for 15 mins. They called our name but when we went up one of the employees told us they will bring to us and that’s not our. So we continue to wait until another guy came outside to called our name and we went back to find out that latte sitting out was our. The matcha brulee didnt taste the same. It was soggy and burnt. Not the brulee part that was burn but the toast itself was burn. Avocado lox toast were alright. Matcha latte were a bit too light, could have been better with a strong matcha
Girl at the front counter was really rude to the guest behind me who was just trying to see the menu. They only had one menu on the counter and the woman behind me was just trying to look at the menu so she picked up before it was her time to order and the girl working the counter snapped at her and was like "can you just take a photo and leave the menu here". It's like why do you only have one menu for the whole shop. I get that we can find menus on our phones but some people, myself included appreciate being able to have a handheld menu or not having to search for the menu online to decide what we want to order. I think it would be really helpful and way more convenient if they had extra menus at the door where the line is forming. This is a nice establishment in Newport Beach where the food and drinks aren't cheap, the least you could do is cater to your guests by making your menu easily accessible.
KIT Coffee is a very nice breakfast spot situated in a nice plaza. There's plenty of parking and both indoor and outdoor seating. I had an iced London Fog, blueberry muffin, and breakfast burrito. All were good but the burrito was the standout, I loved the crunchy outside. I went early on a Sunday morning and the place was packed by 9:30, so plan to wait for a table depending on when you go.
Solid coffee shop in the Newport area. We got the bacon breakfast burrito and a vanilla latte. The latte was slightly too milky for my taste but I still enjoyed it. The burrito was excellent and one of the better breakfast burritos I have ever had. The tortilla was nice and crispy and the food didn’t fall out. The different components of the burrito (especially rice and bacon) had a nice texture when eating it. Although the coffee was just ok, the burrito and ambiance were good enough to make me want to come back.
Parking Info: Free parking in a shopping center lot. The parking lot is super busy. This shopping center seems to be at war with a nearby apartment complex over parking so there are signs everywhere saying parking is only for this center (which is fine if you're going to Kit!). I think there is also complementary valet on the side. I had to stalk some people to get a spot, it's that kind of place. It was around 11am on a non holiday Thursday. All the employees were super nice. Food was tasty. Coffee was great. Vibes were good. Excellent spot.
The cookie with toffee and chocolate was soooo good & well priced too, around 3.50 I believe. I also got a matcha latte (5.50) which wasn’t good, it had no matcha flavour, was basically just green milk. I’ve heard from friends that their coffee is amazing so I would stick to that!
Cute little coffeeshop with plenty on parking in front. We drove down from San Francisco to San Diego and stopped here for coffee and a little bite to eat. The pastries and the avocado toasts were out favorites. Only complaint is that it's quite pricey! We for a seasonal latte that was over $7, was quite shocked but it tasted great.
Food is great but be prepared not to have a chair inside to enjoy the food. They allow anyone who buys a cup of coffee to occupy three chairs, a table (one of only three) and a computer outlet for hours! No time limit Causing people, especially older people to sit on small stools at communal tables. It doesn't make sense to drive away business. Once they go out of business, those table hogs will just move on to another location. They don't care about supporting a good business and the "good business" is afraid to ask for a compromise.
Awesome coffee, and incredibly kind staff! However, I never order the toast anymore. 😬 It always takes soooo long to make that I’m usually done with my coffee by the time it comes. Such a great atmosphere and highly recommend for the coffee!
Friendly staff and good coffee. If you are looking for a quick in an out or a spot to meet and catch up with a friend, this is the place. However there is a severe lack of seating and "workspace". If you are looking for a coffee shop to settle down at with your laptop or a book, this is not the place. They also have great avocado toast! Food: 9/10 Drink: 8/10 Environment: 8/10 Staff: 7/10
Really great selection of matcha drinks. Food is good too, a little overpriced but it’s in Newport so you pay the competitive price. The downside of this shop is the parking. Very difficult to park without a possible tow. Enjoyable coffee shop
Coffee is good. Service was bad. Chick was too busy flirting with a customer to notice I was looking for a particular sweetener they didn’t have out. I kept staring at her hoping she would stop and grab me some stevia but nope. So I had to ask the register person. Needs to be more attentive or flirt on your own time.
Recently, there have been a ton of cafes that jumped on the third-wave bandwagon. Most aren't good. They have similar decor, demonstrating their "follow the herd" mentality. The baristas aren't knowledgeable. Sadly, Kit is one of these. I went back for second try. Not good. I had never tasted Ethiopia Guji this bad. I concur with some reviewers about the baristas. They are not knowledgeable about their beans and brewing methods. Also, they were giggling around and not paying enough attention to their customers. Spacious place but only 5 tables offer seats with back support. For better coffee, go to Kean Coffee down the street.
NOT SO GOOD ! My wife and I checked out this coffee shop about 12 months ago...soon after we moved to Irvine. We were looking for somewhere to get great coffees and a wholesome lunch during our Sunday bike rides. All we saw were a few croissants in a display case....the girl behind the counter explained they don't make sandwiches other than avocado toast. SO WE GAVE IT A MISS ! There were other cafes very nearby that provided decent coffees and fresh made wholesome lunch food. On Sunday we decided to at least to give this place a try. It had good online ratings and when we turned up around 1pm it looked reasonably busy. NO CROISSANTS ! The cashier said they sell out in the morning. OK ! My wife checked out the menu on a clipboard....avocado toast was her choice. The menu was completely breakfast slanted and we had enjoyed a substantial breakfast at home hours before. I don't do avocado toast but my wife was happy to order a basic version not on the menu...just avocado on toast. We also ordered 2 x 12 oz Lattes with 2% milk. I had checked out their syrups beside the espresso machine and could tell they make their own.....no thanks. I nabbed the last 2 seats inside....2 low slung stools facing the outdoor patio. My wife paid and was given table no 33. We had to collect our lattes but someone would bring out my wife's avocado toast. After a few short minutes my wife's name was called out and I walked straight over to the espresso counter to collect them....the latte art looked lovely ! After placing them on the low countertop in front of our seats we sugared them and tried them straight away. VERY SAD ! Both were barely luke warm and tasted very milky. The female cashier had reassured my wife there would be 2 espresso shots in each latte so they must be using a very light roast. My wife's avocado toast came out....just toast with avocado slapped on as requested by my wife who thought it was fine. TERRIBLE LATTES ! One always likes to loiter over a nice hot latte and drink it slowly. In this case if we waited 30 seconds more we would be drinking cold coffees. WE WON'T BE BACK !
The espresso here is delicious, but in the two times I've been here, they forgot my order both times, and it took a needlessly long time, and were unapologetic when I inquired as to why it was taking so long. I am pretty forgiving, but 2 for 2 is a bad look for them. And these weren't even busy times, it was late morning on week days. Unsure if I would recommend to a friend.
I was hoping they would have outlets for laptops but I saw just a couple of outlets. And the seats have no cushions. Horrible for studying.
I used to come here when this place opened. It’s been years since I’ve been but I just went right now to get a coffee. The people working were friendly but the reason why I am giving 2 stars is lack of consistency. I went to get coffee and what they gave me was a lukewarm cup of coffee. Unacceptable. Also when I asked about the different types, they didn’t know … They should know you work at a coffee place. After they told me they had columbia, ethiopian, and kenya. I asked for what they recommend and that I like a fruit forward acid coffee. They should have told me either the kenya or ethiopian but they had no clue. I said, probably one of those but which do you recommend and they said honestly I have no clue. They asked another girl and she said the most fruity was the columbian. I was surprised and said okay, I’ll take that then. (Columbians are more balanced and not fruity or acidic unless naturally processed or anaerobic fermented, so I thought maybe it was although not as common). The columbian was a traditional columbian and the worst of it was the temperature. I waited 20+ minute for a horrible recommendation and lukewarm coffee. I think this place has become overrated. Unless Kit Coffee comps me a free coffee, they lost me as a customer and I won’t be recommending it as a place to go.
Placed an order online and it said it would take 15-20 minutes. Been waiting for over an hour now. The place isn’t even busy just insufficient. Service is horrible and drinks are not anything special. Only come if you wanna wait longer than it will take to drink your coffee.
Great place, with good coffee but, guys no one has this much time to wait for a coffee. It's way too slow service, not enough employees.
