Amore Italian Restaurant - Hungerford

Had a wonderful evening at Amore. Our third….maybe fourth visit and this was the best yet. Great Marinaro Pizza, wonderful Prawn and Courgette pasta and a top notch tiramisu. Lovely staff, great restaurant. Will be back.

I really enjoyed my last visit, staff were kind and friendly creating a nice family atmosphere. The food was excellent, I could not fault my visit, totally enjoyable!

After trying several Italian places in Newbury, I finally discovered this real gem, and it was absolutely worth the drive! I went for a Mother's Day lunch and was greeted and seated straight away. The house wine was offered right away, and the veggie pizza and margherita I ordered were both outstanding. The ingredients were fresh, and the vibes were very authentic, making it feel like a true Italian experience. The only downside was limited parking, but if you go for an early lunch, there’s plenty of space. Definitely recommend this place for anyone craving authentic Italian food!

First visit to Amore but will certainly go again. Lovely restaurant smart and clean, food excellent at reasonable price. Donald who served us, friendly, polite and professional. I would certainly recommend.

Probably one of the best meals I’ve ever had, the penne salmon, the staff were so friendly and helpful, the service on food was quick and it was a very busy Saturday evening, the atmosphere was relaxing, we really enjoyed the evening and we will definitely be heading back. Well done to all the staff on such a lovely evening.

Lunchtime service, so it was fairly quiet when we visited. Very attentive member of staff on duty. Excellent value for the set-priced lunch. Very good quality food and wine priced reasonably.

The food is always great, service is second to none in the area. We eat here often and never disappoints. The Duck is my personal favourite, but they do many fabulous dishes. We went to Rome recently and I have to say the food at Amore is better than two of the “Top” restaurants we were recommend while in Rome. Well worth a visit. Adrian Fowler

It was quiet as we were a late lunch, early dinner, but it was filling up as we were leaving. I've never been here and not had a great meal with good service. Pay attention to the specials as they are usually something different, and amazing.

We were coming to Hungerford and needed feeding - Amore had wonderful reviews, so we thought we would give it a try. First, we arrived before they opened, but since we had shopping to do, I tapped on the door, which was opened by a charming young man who said it would be fine to park there before we came for lunch. How nice was that? And what a good beginning! And lunch didn’t let us down: it was beautifully served, excellent quality and generous, but not overwhelming portions. Just right in every way and extremely good value. And perfect service too. We are definitely going to return whenever we come to Hungerford!

Been coming here for a while, always excellent quality food and service. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Plenty of parking available. Not particularly busy when we went, but it was midweek. All four of us enjoyed our food.

We arrived without a booking on Monday evening in the early evening. We were made very welcome by the Italian host. There was a good varied menu at reasonable prices. The servings were very generous, well presented and tasty. The restaurant became very full as we were eating and there was a good atmosphere. We will certainly be visiting again.

Mid week dinner at Amore. Excellent food, which was served at the table quickly and perfectly warm. I had the saltimbocca, and my husband had the sea food risotto. A nice change of scenery in our busy schedule.

I enjoyed. Atmosphere and service was great. Staff can speak greek and italian (mixed). Pizza quality is good, especially compared to many places in the UK and in regards to the base and crust. I had the house pizza, and was looking forward to bresaola. It didn't have real ones and I love them.

Nice restaurant with good ambience. Staff were friendly. The food was nice. My friend and I ordered the seafood pasta, was tasty but the squid was so tough. Most of the mussels were empty. The calzone was a big portion and tasted really good. However, the seafood risotto was small and not enough. Would recommend this place.

Love italian, relaxing atmosphere friendly staff and great foods

Food is bland, seems like leftover items added to the dish from a Sunday dinner the previous day. Boiled to death. The "gravy"on the lamb was watery and tastless. The mushroom "homemade" pasta triangle was just non of that, and undercooked, spaghetti bolognese, had no depth, the totelini was also tasteless.. We werent checked back on, at any point, except for them to take plates.. Disappointing, im a huge fan of "Italian" food.

Not our first time here, our other visits were all good. The staff are lovely as always. The starters we had were lovely - mussels, prawns, the homemade bread, and the garlic pizza bread. All 10/10. Then I got the carbonara, which was really disappointing. I absolutely love carbonara and get it in any Italian I go to, but after one bite it just wasn’t right or nice. I informed the waitress, thinking she’d take it but just left it on the side of the table. I was still charged for the carbonara, and my partner had 2 beers but was charged an extra £7 for a third beer which he didn't have.

Overall was an ok experience but having spent a lot of time in Italy this is clearly not in any way an authentic Italian restaurant. The staff were polite and friendly but the male waiter completely forgot to bring olives that I ordered so I had to remind him then he said, “oh yeah”. Wake up! I asked him what style of pizza they served, Roma? Napoli? He had no idea what I was talking about. I also asked if they had Crodino and again he had absolutely no idea what I was talking about. The pizza tasted fine but there’s no way they need to charge £15 for one - especially when you get better pizza in Italy for less than half the price. Dough and toppings are not that expensive. Lastly, I wanted to finish with a coffee but was told that they have no plant milk at all - only semi skimmed cows milk! In 2025?? Seriously? And what about lactose intolerance? Erm, discrimination? So if you have an allergy you’re not allowed coffee. Every cafe I’ve been to in all of Italy has had at least oat or soy milk. If you want genuine Italian food give this place a miss - you may as well go to a chain like Zizzi, ASK, or Pizza Express.

Worst customer service and worst food I've ever tasted in my life. My wife had food poisoning from this place.

Awful service from the moment we arrived, and the manager spoke to us in a shockingly rude tone. The food tasted terrible — bland, cold, and honestly inedible. Easily one of the worst restaurants I’ve visited. Avoid.
