I was pleasantly surprised by this place. When I ordered I wasn’t expecting much but what I received blew me away. First the restaurant is clean and the staff was very friendly. I ordered the shrimp meal and my wife had the seafood platter. Both meals were fresh, hot and crunchy. I couldn’t ask for better. The best surprise was the funnel cake stix. Unfortunately we waited until we after we ate dinner to try them so they cooled off a bit. But OMG they were delicious. The only thing that would have made them better is if we ate them fresh from the fryer. I would give this place 10 stars if I could.

I haven't been to a Captain D's restaurant in years. I haven't been to one since I lived in Tennessee, which was over eight years ago. I remember that they had this Captain D's in Fort Worth and I really liked it. However, a period came, a few years ago, when they closed this location in Fort Worth. This was a shame. In the years since, they have reopened in Fort Worth, TX and the food is just as great as I remember it to be. I ordered the catfish dippers and a piece of their signature battered fish, along with a side of okra and it was delicious. The fish wasn't overly battered, which allows for you to taste it, instead of getting a mouthful of batter. The fish was also really light and it wasn't heavy, again this could be due to the way the fish is battered. To be able to visit a Captain D's after eight years was a blast from the past. It is still one of the best fast-food seafood restaurants I have ever been to. It's what Long John Silvers should strive to be like. I only wish that management would open a location in Oklahoma City, since the nearest one is in Tulsa, which is over 90 minutes away.

I’m a frequent customer here and I am always impressed with how quickly I receive my food, the quality presentation and taste of my food, the cleanliness of the dining room and restrooms, and with my overall experience. The Captain D’s staff are always very polite and courteous each time I decide to order Captain D’s seafood, and always deliver excellent customer service and delicious seafood! I recommend stopping by! 👍🏼

Where do I begin. My wife first introduced me to Captain D's about 5 years ago and it's somewhere we eat at least once a month. The employees are always friendly and curtious. The food is ALWAYS cooked to order, so it's hot and fresh every time. As someone who grew up eating Long John Silvers. It's nice to have a place to get seafood without breaking the bank.

I appreciate receiving fresh fish, fries and pups at 7pm Drive thru clerk Gisele was very polite. Most clerks nowadays don't even greet you before demanding payment, but she did.

Love Captain D's! Hadn't tried it until about 6 months ago... now whenever I go to my friends house, I go pick up Captaind D's. The price is good and I've always had a nice cashier and never had a problem with my food. If you like fast seafood, give em a try.

I’m a regular here and I absolutely adore this place: both for its atmosphere and its food. I always get a grilled fish plate (sometimes a spicy fish sandwich) and it always comes out piping hot and fresh. The employees and manager are so sweet and always greet customers with kindness. They’re accommodating and friendly with everyone-especially their regular customers and I can tell they receive a lot. I come to this location for comfort as well. This is a place of peace and relaxation as you fill your stomach. Can’t compliment this location enough!

I am so glad we found this place. It has been consistently good every time we've eaten here. The workers are so polite and the food is so good. I'm really picky about batter-dipped fish having spent a lot of time in Europe, and this is the best fish I've had stateside. The batter is excellent the flavor is delicious. Their macaroni and cheese is some of the best. I haven't had one bad thing here. Even their grilled fish is good- not fishy at all and has great flavor.

I remember back in the day when Captain D's would give you full size pieces of fish and it was filling. Oh, the good old days... The finger sized fish they give you now is still good, the okra is crispy and delicious, the shrimp was tasty, the corn on the cob is sweet. The food is still good.

The cleanliness of the inside of the restaurant leaves something to be desired, and Lord knows that it's not healthy for you. That being said, it's pretty delicious and the staff is always accommodating and friendly.

I usually avoid chain restaurants/fast food, but I really like this place. They have a few grilled options and the quality is good for the price. And maybe it’s the West Fort Worth hospitality, but the kids who work here are always friendly. Would recommend.

I was some what satisfied because the service was okay it could have been better. The lady who took our order didn't listen correctly we had to pay a meal that took for ever to receive. However they did there best. Making up for there mistakes. The food was good the cashier was friendly she did her best to understand our huge order.

I've been going to Captain D's off and on for a couple of weeks. It had been a while since eating there, but I enjoyed it. My go to is the fish combo. Even though it has been a while, the food tastes the same, which is good. Rather than getting hush puppies, I get the bread stick which is very good. The tea is a little weak but sweet. The workers make sure that you are taken care of. Wonderful service and they are very friendly.

July 6 2025 Charge 3+ dollars for a medium drink. Seafood meal that wad 10.99 has gone up to 12.49. Senior drink size has shrunk. Restaurant needs new booths and tables. The place is showing its age. 2-8-24 update Had to drop a star on the food since they got rid of Mountain Dew. Never have gotten a bad meal. Prices are a little high though for being a regular stop. Would be nice to have coupons, and more locations in Fort Worth.

Food is always good. We have been going to this location for 15 plus years. They have always been fast and friendly. I miss the women who used to run the counter but changes happen. They seem to be a little short staffed but everyone is so I didn't mind waiting just a bit. The food was hot and the order was correct. This trip was pretty good, the lady at the counter was very entertaining, very helpful and polite. They still seem to be short handed because she was running the drive thru and front counter but her attitude was she can do it all, and she did. Food was hot order was correct.

Captain D's was good. I had the giant fish sandwich with fries and an order of fried shrimp. Everything was delicious and fairly priced. The person at the counter was friendly and I got my order fairly quickly to go. I like that it is close by and will eat here again when I'm the mood for quick, fried, seafood.

Always good, great choices, hot food. Carry out if needed or drive thru. Prices have as with every place have risen from my last visit. Peices of fish continue to shrink to less than a 2 ounce peice each.

This was is so delicious oh how I love their catfish. They fry it southern style its delicious I prefer this fish over their cod actually.

I like the food. It's well prepared. It's on Parole with their chief competitor (LJ silver...you know the one). The only difference in my mind is LJS (some locations) have A&W RB in them (You know..). I really like them both. When I have a taste for that type of cuisine, it boils down to which one I'm the closest to at the time. I do however recommend it, & I WILL be a repeat customer. All their locations seem to have very Customer friendly employees. You know why no (5 Stars) "NUFF SAID"

Ordered the 10 piece battered white fish with tartar sauce. 3 desserts: 1. Funnel cake stix, 2. Cheesecake 3. Pecan pie. Everything but 1 dessert was delicious especially their homemade tartar sauce. Cheesecake was very dry and had no taste. The service at the drive in was A+. The server was extremely personal and friendly. Very positive and patient when taking our order.

Most of the food was good except the rice was hard 😩. Didn't want to chip a tooth. But they graciously exchanged it for fries after checking it by squeezing it with his fingers lol. I promise it was hard as a rock just wanted to save them the Dental bill.

This place is very similar to Long John Silvers. I was expecting better but I'd say just about equal or maybe slightly better. Both places make me feel sick because of the way they deep fry foods. I really enjoy fried fish but I can just feel the oil in my head. I'm sure it may not affect others the same way.

Came in to order and i order the clams but when in bit into it, it tasted like fried bread pieces. Ordered extra tartar sauce and got charged but didn’t receive it. Tried calling the store no answer. If workers would stay off the phone and actually give great customer service my order wouldn’t be wrong. Phone should not be charging up by the front counter. Very unprofessional to stop helping customers because your phone is ringing.

When I stepped up to the counter, the cashier was busy doing something on her phone. She didn’t even notice me until another girl cleaning tables yelled at her. Then they both began a conversation in Spanish while I just stood there. She finally decided to take my order and while I was getting my drink, I saw the other girl sweeping the floor and also sweeping the seats with the same broom. When I said something to her, she denied it even though I saw do it to about 7 to 8 booths. Then they stood around staring at me speaking Spanish to each other making me very uncomfortable. I have been coming to this restaurant for about 30 years and the food has always been good but the caliber of employees had gotten consistently worse over the past year or two.

I think this place would be a lot better if we lived closer. None of it was bad. But, we had to travel just far enough that the food had started to get a bit soggy. Still tasted okay, tho. Except the "funnel cake sticks", which I didn't care for. But dessert at a fast food joint is hit or miss anyway, I deduct no points for that. All in all, if you live close enough to enjoy the meal warm, this place is reminiscent of the old LJS stores i enjoyed when I was a boy.

Prices are way to high! Food was OK but the visit through the drive through was not that good! I got the 4 piece chicken dinner and without a drink it was almost 13 bucks! Very bad looking part of town to go to and a bunch of eye sores around there. I I asked how much for a drink and it would hzve been another three bucks so your looking at around 16 to 17 bucks if you want a drink for a four piece chicken. I That's horrible and a true crime if you ask me!!! So even though the food was good I think I will give this place up for good!!! THUMBS DOWN!!!

Let me amend my review - Originally I stated that it was good food… until I pulled a hair out of my hush puppy… Nope. So done. The teen at the window rang us up almost three dollars for a water. When we asked him about it he was so confident with that price and quickly shut the drive thru window on us. We ended up having to go back in because my husband’s platter was missing a total of three items… Three! That’s really bad. The manager was a flustered guy who kept interrupting and didn’t seem to be very fluent in English. This made it difficult to clear things up. It turns out that waters are free and there was the guy from the window suddenly backing that ‘yes they are free’. Could have said this before shooing us out of the drive thru. Then our platter comes out and is now missing yet another item… it was just ridiculous.

No smiles and service was awful. The fish was good but French fries were hard old and cold. Atmosphere would have been great but they were closing everything down at 830 and using heavy cleaning products and the restaurant doesn't even close till 10:30. They acted like it was an inconvenience to wait on us and bring our food out.

I grew up eating at this location. It's still a favorite of mine, and I hate to be petty, but they refuse to give me enough sauce. It's happened several times. I always order the most expemsive platter and ask for tarter, cocktail, and malt vinegar. Its the same thing I have ordered for literally decades. Something is always missing. Tonight, I was on the phone with my wife when she went through the drive through and heard her ask for my normal, then ordered hers and said she would also like tarter and cocktail. We got on of each. I know it doesn't seem like a big deal, but I wont eat it without my sauces. I'm so frustrated with being shortchanged. I dont mind paying extra, just give me what I asked for. Im sick of it. I live 3 blocks away and I am seriously contemplating giving up on the place over stupid sauces. Get it together Captain ds

Ehhhh!! I was not satisfied. Rushed to camp Bowie location due to them serving fried oysters! Got home to open my food and let me tell you… the shrimp were mini ..the fish had a freezer burn after taste.. oysters were as small as they come. Not worth the price or eating. Capital D please do better .

They have taken the only soft drink I like out of the dispenser. Diet Pepsi and replaced it with Dr. Pepper. The prices have increased substantially and the quality has decreased. They used to be generous with the sauces but are now very stingy.

The order taker was nice. Everything was downhill from there. One of my fish planks was cold in the middle (not fully cooked). The corn on cob appeared and tasted old. One of my wife's hush puppies was doughy (not cooked enough. Was completely out of funnel cake stck and pecan pie. Manager did offer to re-make my meal, but I needed to get to my destination, so I refused. Manager did not thank me for reporting these issues; instead, she just walked off.

Then I left for several hours..... got a Frappuccino type drink, then came back to Captain D's to use restroom and sit and relax, and drink some water. The lady working there did not like that..... I told her I was there earlier and spent $20. She proceeded to call her boss and supposedly he told her to have me leave or she should call cops. REALLY?? Because of this treatment...... despite that I did enjoy their food, I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE, after such bad treatment.

Long John Silvers definitely has them beat. The food was blan. The fish had a weird taste and a pink hue but was cooked all the way. So I'm puzzled on that. The cocktail sauce was gross and seemed to have been made with rancid ketchup. The oil tasted old so had that smell to it. It was just very off putting. Husband spit out the 1st bite he too. I don't recommend eating here unless you have no other choice. Everything you see on my plate in the pice blow is what I wouldn't eat. Same with the 3 other meals we ordered.

Worst experience in the 30 years I've been a customer at this Camp Bowie West location.... the staff is very rude and the older skinny hispanic woman with black rim glasses is quick tempered, a young girl answered the speaker first .. I ordered grilled COD no rice broccoli... the speaker went silent and the older lady came on the speaker and asked what I wanted... I repeated my order she became angry and we have white fish ... I said okay whatever yall call it I want that with no rice only broccoli... she said it comes with 2 sides, I said okay give me double broccoli.... she said don't give me an attitude, that will be $10.81, I said mam I'm not finished with my order and I was not rude or had an attitude.... I gave her the rest of my order and the conversation ended. Then I pulled to the window to pay and a young girl with tattoos took my money, then 10 minutes later older lady comes to the window and says did you get your order, I said no mam, she says can you pull up and wait, I asked where....she said to the black railing.... 10 minutes she brings my food out and I asked her who was I speaking with on the speaker (I already knew it was her) she turns and looks at me saying get out of here and don't come back, I'm in disbelief of this entire negative encounter... at no time was I ever rude to her or any other staff.... as a LE officer in uniform I couldn't believe what took place. Rest assure I will never return and hope anyone else that experience this type behavior feels the same way. I threw my food away!

We ordered food there tonight and it was awful, the fish was cold and old, the corn was brown, one plate didn't get hush puppies, the tater sauce was runny. The crab shells were overcooked in dirty grease. You expect a good dinner on Sundays if not everyday. Dinner really sucked.

They could have gotten a 5 star rating if they didn’t serve meals full of fried batter crumbs. Do not order the clams! You will get a box of crumbs with about 10/11 small claims you can eat. To add insult to injury I ordered a take out from them for the first and last time.(I will never patronize them) again! I called and spoke with a girl who apologized and asked me, “to bring up the order for a remake.” I did, she had me wait 10 minutes to tell me I had eaten the clams! I informed her she asked me to spend my time and gas to come back to make things right. She said, I was but my boss said you ate the clams!” They operate without integrity and you can’t trust them. I’ve Been Eating At This Specific Location Since I Was A Young Girl. I’ll NEVER Eat Here Again. You Couldn’t Pay Me To.

Ask for the tartar sauce from the inside. Was told they don't have it. Went inside to get some and was blocked by one of the sales people. When I specifically told them I didn't want the pre packaged. Horrible customer service after spending over $30.00 dollars. I want be back to the location on Camp Bowie in Ft. Worth.

I came here today and had an order and i added jalapeño poppers on the side. DO NOT LEAVE THE DRIVE THROUGH WINDOW WITHOUT CHECKING YOUR ORDER. They will call you a liar and a thief especially that you g girl in the front. They called me a liar after asking me to get the order so she can see it and i did and than she still said I got it and she called me a liar to my face. They both said its the managers rule after 20 minutes of me arguing with them. If they said that at the beginning i wouldn’t have caused so much problems. They were disrespectful and wouldn't even give me a copy of a receipt that says it was voided after i gave them all the good back. I was trying to bring food home to my pregnant wife and the only thing she specifically asked for was jalapeno poppers and now i got none of it and got treated like garbage. I will never return here except tomorrow to talk to the manager. They were awful and disrespectful. They deserve no one business and we will be making sure that my wife's social media platform of over 1.6 million followers spreads the word to stay away from this location as they dont care if you are pregnant or anything they will smile in your face while you ask for your reciept and they will call you a liar. I HAVE NEVER DONE THIS. I have never left this bad of a review and I have never gone out of my way to get mad at people in a restrictive where all they are doing is working. I hope i never have to do it again but this location has aweful employees at the front. Both of the teenagers are disrespectful and rude and will misplace your items and than tell you that you did it. I will be contacting whatever corporate office they have as well and reporting this location. Oh but food here is good lol if you get it

I bought a catfish plate lastnight number one it was supposed to be a catfish plate which it didn't tasted like catfish and yhe fish tasted old I'm from the south so I actually know the difference between catfish and tilapia fish and it tasted discussing the fish was kid meal size I ended up throwing it away because it was nasty and it tasted like refrigerator and old 14 dollars gone to waste I will never eat here again this was tye Captain D's on Camp bowie me personally I refuse to get sick of food I don't care how much it cost my health is so much more important

Insane been eating here since I was a kid and now sauce cost a lot extra and they offer a little tiny condiments wow my family won’t be back for sauce after spending 25 on meals I hope they know that’s going to run customer off What is a shortage issue then why are you selling it to your consumer

Entering a fast-food restaurant at 4:30 in the afternoon to find it completely empty should have been a warning sign. The experience was terrible, from the filthy establishment to the unfriendly staff, and the excessive wait time for the food. The fish was undercooked and slimy, the hushpuppies were overdone, and the coleslaw lacked any flavor, although I usually enjoy it. The fries were mediocre, but the chicken was well-cooked and flavorful. If you're in search of quality fish and sides, I would recommend skipping this place. Captain D's: I've already shared my experience; why should I contact you? Are you offering me coupons to try it again? Money is scarce these days, and spending it on your food only exacerbated the bad taste. It was so unpleasant that we won't be returning.

Had 3 visits...3 issues. The last one they left something out of my order. Immediately call to let them know. They wanted me to Uber back up and show them the receipt?? Most businesses at least in the restaurant industry would have simply given a credit for something under $5. I understand it's my choice to stand there and unwrap all my food in a questionable environment while holding up the line and risking upsetting other customers at me not the merchant. Or I can simply trust that they would honor their service. I've reached out through their communication line, no response. Well the company made a choice and now I have made a choice! UPDATE: Went to website Owner suggested to contact them but the location I went to was not listed. Without that info you can't complete and send form. The receipt they gave me has faded as they knew it would. What a Joke!!

On A Sunday there was only one person in Line, me. I get up to the window and they’re already handing my food out to me. I ordered two piece of fish shrimp and our two sides that I ordered were okra and coleslaw. She handed it to me so quick and I Said” That’s fast! Y’all Haven’t had it sitting under the lights to have you?” She said no. I’ve never had to check it before as I pulled out. I noticed leases across the street had a line wrapped around the restaurant I mean, literally wrapped around the restaurant so Lisa is doing a booming business! So by the time I get home I open my meal the shrimp or have been fried to death and I didn’t even eat it. There wasn’t any shrimp in the things! Instead of Elker, I got shredded french fries the fish tasted funky I mean, weird! And I haven’t even looked at anything else. I threw the whole thing away. I made a point to call them up there and tell them what what they done wrong and that wet side is going belly up and they might pay a little more attention to their food or they’re gonna go belly up as well! I’m not going back to Captain D’s. They’ve lost interest in how their food taste and how they it’s presented and I was the only one in line and they got it wrong. They didn’t even give me my okra instead of they gave me shredded fries. I gave him a one star because you can’t give zero stars you have to have at least one star on there so I gave him one star otherwise it’d be a zero stars. Another business bites the dust up on West side!!!

Told the worker that the coleslaw tasted funny and ask her to change for something else. She refused, because she said it was just made that morning. Rude to say the least. I will go see manager tomorrow.

IT’S ALWAYS SUMTHIN

Customer service was horrible. I had to do an online order while in the store for what I wanted. Even though me and my child were going to dine in they told me they wouldn’t give it to me dine in and that it had to be made to go. Then there is a sign saying if I wasn’t offered one of two deals being the butterfly shrimp or hush puppies I could get it for free. I informed the manager on duty whom was the one I was initially interacting with and she denied me the offer. Wouldn’t bring the food to us, then when we got our food it was so nasty, no joke yes the fish was good but the coleslaw was nasty, the popcorn shrimp was nasty, my son wouldn’t even eat it, I’m not exaggerating and he found a bug cooked into the French fries so he wouldn’t eat at all, I showed the manager on duty the bug in the food and I was not offered a refund and not even an apology. Disgusted that I chose to eat here today. Very Dissatisfied. The manager on duty today was named Pearla. Pictures for reference
