Probably the best Italian restaurant in The Woodlands. Four of went for lunch and ordered from the tasting menu. We had the lasagna, tagliatelle, meat ball, suckling pig, and a beet salad. Also shared the deserts pictured below, a Baba al Rhum and Tiramasu. All were tasty, well prepared, and the service was very good as was the bread
Yesterday we got engaged and decided to try something new so we went here. This place did not disappoint!!! This place was already the most beautiful spot for a romantic evening but the staff here went above and beyond to help make our evening even more special. 10/10 recommend. Food was phenomenal & the presentation was even better. Thank you so much for contributing to making our day special💓
Had dinner here a few months ago when in town for a meeting. It was such a wonderful experience, that when we returned yesterday for another meeting, we walked over from the hotel we were staying at, just to have dinner. Another wonderful dinner and experience. Look forward to the next trip, so that we can have dinner here once again. Wonderful food, drinks and service!
My family went for dinner and had a great experience. The staff was very polite and helpful, the restaurant was clean with wonderful decor. Antipasti we ordered charred octopus which was cooked to perfection and mussels + clams. Primi we ordered squid ink pasta cannolicchi and truffle agnolotti all three we fabulous. For dessert we tried bombolini and gelato. We will go back soon
Yep. Very good experience.. do visit! It's beyond just a 'hotel restaurant'...it's refined, delicious, thoughtful food. Excellent service from the gentleman at the host stand to our waitress! Outside patio seating available. Perhaps wait until the sun-sets or else it's a bit bright. Parking garage is nearby and have the waitress or waiter validate parking. *meals pictured- short rib ravioli & squid ink crab
We had a great dinner at Sorriso. Must order Black Spaghetti….so good! The other dishes are great also. Ate at the hotel for convenience and didn’t really have high expectations but they really did a wonderful job with high quality food. The hostess was very friendly and welcoming. 5 stars for sure!
Here on business and stopped in for breakfast, excellent service and the place was very clean and pleasant. My server was excellent, she was professional and knowledgeable and very accommodating, the menu had lots of choices for all food type including vegan and gluten free. I had a coffee and orange juice with the eggs Benedict and applewood smoked bacon, and I must say that it was delicious. The eggs were poached perfectly and the rosemary ham with the hollandaise sauce and the roasted potatoes was perfect. Loved everything about it and definitely would recommend if you want a nice dining experience for breakfast and if you’re just looking to relax before getting your day started. Service and everything was excellent.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had a fantastic dinner at Sorriso, made even better by our exceptional waiter, John. He was knowledgeable, attentive, and had a genuine warmth that made the whole evening feel special. He guided us through a delicious meal starting with the fritto misto and asparagus cacio e pepe and of course, Nona’s meatball! — all were fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. John recommended the Patz & Hall Sonoma Pinot Noir, which paired flawlessly with everything on the table—smooth, balanced, and such a great choice. John’s timing, attentiveness, and upbeat energy really elevated the experience. We’ll definitely be back—and we’ll be asking for John again. Highly recommend!
An amazing experience, the food, service, and ambiance was fenomenal. We dine at Sorriso, a beautiful modern Italian restaurant inside the Westin Woodlands hotel. The menu has choices for all budgets, but the quality of every dish was superb. The presentation of the food immaculate, taking into consideration every detail in the dish, and the taste was so armonic, balancing the flavors with so much detail that when you take a bite every sense in your mouth explodes. Make sure you order the Prosciutto wrap branzino, a dish with a fabulous combination of crispy on the outside and buttery flavor of the white fish in the inside cooked to perfection, the Black Seafood Pasta is out if this world, handmade pasta al dente with the perfect amount of spiciness, and the appetizers, don't miss the Beet Salad, one of the bests. Dessert OMG, their unique twist to the Tiramisu, was such a surprise, with a hard, thin chocolate outside layer, and the mix of coffee flavors in the inside without being overly sweet! Definitely, I will consider this super FINE AND GOURMET dining! .... So I returned for the breakfast buffet this morning, and I was double amazed with the buffet style of choices that included everything breakfast you might want, adding my favorite in the world, Avocado Toast!! but this one had a spread of TRUFFLES and olive tapanade with the most delicious pickled red onions as garnish. Definitely, the chef is a genius combining flavors and delivering to the guests a great experience in this beautiful restaurant!!!
We celebrated our anniversary at Sorriso and had an amazing time, largely thanks to Ami, our fantastic waitress. Ami's warm and friendly demeanor immediately made us feel welcome. Her recommendations were spot on, enhancing our dining experience. She expertly guided us through the menu and suggested perfect wine pairings. Ami's attention to detail and impeccable service made the evening unforgettable. The restaurant's romantic atmosphere was the perfect setting for our celebration. In summary, our anniversary dinner at Serriso was outstanding, all thanks to Ami. Her friendliness, expertise, and impeccable service, combined with the chef's culinary talents and the excellent wine selection, made it truly special. We look forward to returning for more culinary delights and wonderful wine experiences. Highly recommended!
John is the best server! We love coming to Sorriso for our anniversary and every year we always have John. He takes such great care of us! I cannot imagine coming to eat here without John being our sever. We also always have the best food every menu item is amazing! Can’t wait to come back!!
I had an exceptional dining experience at Sorriso in The Woodlands. We celebrated New Years with My Beautiful family, The food was simply delicious, with the oysters standing out as the best we’ve ever had. The Venetian drink added a perfect touch to the meal, and the overall attention to detail was remarkable. Special thanks to our waiter, Jonathan, who provided outstanding service, making the evening truly memorable. Highly recommend!
The food and atmosphere was amazing. We had 2 brick oven pizzas and they were on point. Our server Francisco took great care of us. The restrooms were clean. The restaurant was beautiful and the view of the waterway was especially nice with all the lights. Valet is available at the Westin. I love this place and can't wait to go back. I usually have more photos but it was a private evening and I didn't want to be inappropriate by posting pictures. Thanks for a great meal.
I can’t say enough about this place. Been a customer for a few years now and they have consistently have produce quality food and quality service (give or take a new trainee). Their cocktails are also a must. The Old Fashioned they make is pretty good considering they have a lot of competition in The Woodlands. Try the black ink pasta. Not as good as what Boston offers but Texas can’t compete with the North East 😀
Wow! Amazing restaurant. We had our anniversary dinner here tonight, and it was delightful. From the moment we walked in, the lovely hostess was so kind and welcoming; she made us feel quite special with her kind words and huge smile. Our waiter was excellent as well. Everyone wished us a happy anniversary. The food and drinks were top notch. Artistic, fresh ingredients, and incredibly delicious food. Pasta noodles made from scratch. 5 stars all the way! *note: add a few extra minutes to your plans, in order to find parking. The street parking is a bit challenging. But worth it for this restaurant!
Amazing atmosphere and attentive service from start to finish. They have an amazing wine selection and cocktails. We were treated to a great date weekend with the help of Alyssa & Ziggy, making sure that our food and drinks were everything they needed to be and more. This is a place to stop by if your looking for fresh food.
Do not overlook this exceptional Italian restaurant that truly captivates the senses. First and foremost, a huge shout-out to John, our waiter. His friendliness and extensive knowledge of the menu made our first visit an incredibly enjoyable experience. 👏👏 We kicked off our meal with a refreshing bottle of San Benedetto sparkling water, which was just as invigorating as Pellegrino. Although they were out of my preferred Santa Margarita Pinot Grigio, John suggested an excellent alternative. (I regret to note the name) The bartender also crafted a superb dirty martini that was incredibly well-balanced. As for the bread, it arrived warm and soft, paired with a luscious olive oil and a balsamic vinegar that originated from Milan, adding a delightful touch to our starter experience. For our antipasto selection, we indulged in Charred Octopus, Clams in a delightful white wine sauce, Nonna’s Meatballs, and a Whole Leaf Caesar Salad. Each dish was bursting with flavor, artfully prepared, and simply delicious. Our main courses were nothing short of extraordinary: the Ricotta Gnocchi, a delicate pasta made with fresh ricotta and guanciale—often likened to American bacon or pancetta, but with a far richer flavor profile—was a standout. We also enjoyed Pan-roasted Scallops served atop a creamy shrimp risotto, cooked to perfection and delivering that perfect al dente texture. Additionally, the Black Spaghetti featured an abundance of seafood, including clams, octopus, shrimp, and scallops, creating a wonderfully harmonious plate that can only be described as “frutti di mare” or “fruits of the sea.” All pasta is homemade and prepared with impeccable skill, showcasing the restaurant's commitment to authentic Italian cuisine. We finished our wonderful dinning experience with the best espresso I've ever tasted and a shot of sambuca with 3 coffee beans. I wholeheartedly recommend this fine Italian restaurant. We are already planning our return visit, eager to explore other dishes on the menu. Compliments to the chef—tutto molto buono, delizioso!
The name truly explains both the food and atmosphere. Modern Italian! It was cozy yet upscale. The staff from entrance to leaving were warm and knowledgeable. Food was delicious: I had the lobster risotto, and it was rich with lots of lobster! They brought out tiramisu for my birthday, and it was exceptionally rich. The attention to detail to have the "hbd" stamped on chocolate really stood out. Would return.
We stayed at the Westin so decided to try out Sorriso out of convenience and so glad we did. Great wine options to choose from and pairing recommendations with your meal. The wife had the chicken parm…I had half, plus I had the 30 Layer Lasagna. Both were great. The lasagna looked like it would be heavy but was authentically Italian light. Loved the different style of the chicken parm. We’ll be back. If you go, ask for Marco…superb service.
I was staying at the Westin and was looking for a place to eat since I was in from out of town. I asked the manager at the lobby of the hotel, and he provided me with several excellent places within walking distance. He then politely suggested that I check out the restaurant within the hotel - Sorriso. He made it clear that he wasn’t recommending it because he worked there. but because he honestly felt like it was exceptional food. I couldn’t agree more! The ambience and mood with low lighting was perfect. My server - didn’t catch his name, but a bald man,- was one of the better servers I’ve ever had. We discussed different options and he was thoughtful and honest. I’m not a picky eater so I went with his recommendations – the lasagna and the tiramisu. The lasagna was a 30 layer, very thin lasagna that was cut and laid over on its side. The picture doesn’t do it justice. This was superb and one of the best tasting lasagnas I’ve ever had. I loved the cheese and thinly sliced noodles - something that was incredibly different than what I’ve had before. And I couldn’t decide on the dessert because there were several excellent options. The server recommended the tiramisu and said I wouldn’t be disappointed. Dare I say that the tiramisu was even better than the lasagna?? I’ve had a lot of tiramisu, and this one was more unique than any other one. I honestly thought it was chocolate cake when he brought it out until I cut into it. The taste of this was simply delightful! The server rocked, the lasagna was excellent, and the tiramisu was over the top fantastic! Highly recommend this place – even if you’re not staying here. Stop in and give it a try.
Went to Sorriso for date night. We ordered the burrata/fig/tomato appetizer. It was very good. For dinner I had the ravioli and my date had the Black spaghetti (seafood). He said it was excellent. We had the chocolate Gelato with peanut butter for dessert, that was excellent. Overall it was a great date night experience. After dinner we headed upstairs to the Como Social Club.
My wife and I had, once again, a wonderful dinner at Sorriso (a place we always go to celebrate special occasions); of note was the superb attention that Marco gave us! His knowledge of wines is something we truly appreciate (and learn a lot from him, no matter how much we know!).
Out for a romantic night and the atmosphere was wonderful. I had the grouper and it was delicious. John was our server and he was magnificent. The suggestions he made were spot on and the service was exceptional. We will definitely come back.
Had an amazing evening thanks to Alyssa and Rob! The dinner was absolutely delicious and every dish was spot on. The drinks? Perfectly crafted and kept flowing all night. Their attention to detail and warm hospitality made the whole experience feel special. Can’t wait to come back and do it all over again!
We’ve lived in the Woodlands for 10+ years and finally tried this for the first time today. It was fantastic all around. Best Italian place in the Woodlands.
If you want great Italian cuisine Sorriso is the place to go. Marco is very knowledgeable about the menu and he knows a lot about wine. If you are looking for a nice night out this is place to go and ask for Marco!
A well deserved 5 stars Excellent service Tasty food with a good variety rarely found at others Great prices for what you get in quality and taste Overall excellent And Chris our waiter did an excellent job
John B, was an excellent server , definitely recommend this place solely because of his politeness . Definitely needs a bonus/raise. Big shoutout to him Happy 30th Birthday!!!(Lol)
Outstanding bar for an afternoon break. The bartender Alyssa is fantastic. Super friendly and very engaging...made the afternoon pit stop even better.
Having Sorriso for Thanksgiving dinner was the best decision. John, our lead server, gave us such good conversation during our meal and had excellent instincts on what would make our evening spectacular. The top highlights were brown butter gelato, 30 layer lasagna, bread caprese salad(?), and the pumpkin soup. Delicious. I can't say enough good things about John, either. We walked through memory lane with John telling stories about when the Waterway was just a dirt pit during construction and showing pictures of the small forest where Sorriso would later be. Just a calm and relaxed evening to be thankful for.
We spent our 1st NYE here and it was beyond amazing!!! John was our waiter, he was spot on with his recommendations, made our experience 100% more enjoyable by his appreciation and enjoyment of our food choices and wine selection!!! Fantastic night of elegance and sophistication.
Food was amazing!! Our server Chris was very attentive and made my friends birthday extra special. Truly felt valued as a customer.
Went to Sorriso at the Westin Woodlands tonight. My husband sat at the bar and had drinks and pizza. Lexi was excellent! She provided exceptional service and recommendations.

Last night’s dinner at Sorriso was absolutely unforgettable, in fact, it’s easily one of the most wonderful Italian dining experiences in The Woodlands. From the moment we walked in, the team made us feel truly welcomed and could not have been more attentive or warm throughout the evening. Our server, John, deserves special praise-he went above and beyond every step of the way. He was knowledgeable, gracious, responsive, and genuinely invested in making our time there incredible. That level of service elevated the whole experience and made us feel like valued guests from start to finish. The food was incredible, we loved the Caesar salad, Margherita pizza, and one of their handmade pasta dishes, all beautifully prepared and delicious. To top it off, they surprised us with dessert, which was such a thoughtful and memorable touch. The ambiance is stunning, the service is outstanding, and the food is easily some of the best Italian in The Woodlands. I’ve lived here most of my life, and this was truly something special. We can’t wait to come back!
Had dinner tonight at Sorriso and absolutely enjoyed everything! Robert, bartender and Chris, server were on point! The food was freshly made and very savory! Haven’t had such a heartier glass wine ever anywhere! The prices are reasonable, great location and close proximity to parking. Will be running back! Don’t miss out!!
Espectacular!!! Delicia de platillos y atención increíble!
Our first visit was last night and the food was very good, the service was excellent, the decor was nice - but we won't be going back. Wait, what? Four stars, everything nice, and not going back? Allow me to explain: This is a very good restaurant and we would be happy to eat here every week, except for three big things. First, it's loud. Like, deafening on a Friday night. We had to shout to hear each other from 18 inches away, and as the evening progressed it just got louder. Second, it's crowded. Table to our left: 24 inches away. Chair behind me? 12". I leaned back and almost put my head into the young lady's face. A feeling of claustrophobia prevailed over the entire evening. Lastly, Avanti is just a few miles away. While Sorriso is very good except for noise and space, Avanti is just about perfect in every way. Better food, better service, better decor, less noise and more space. For a $200 night of special Italian food, Avanti wins in every category. Now. Having said all that, we really enjoyed the food. The seafood on my Black Spaghetti was perfectly cooked, and my wife loved her truffled Angliotti. The charcuterie platter was nicely curated and beautifully presented, the best dish of the night. The "profiteroles" we ordered for desert are not profiteroles, they're cream puffs, but still delicious. On the liquid side, the two mixed drinks we had were both made perfectly, and their wine list recently won a Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence for the third straight year. We were very happy to see both Cakebread and Rombauer chardonnay available by the glass. One odd thing: they offer some of their better wines by the glass, under a separate category called "Coravin 5-oz. Pour". So, the Coravin is a cool device for pouring one glass at a time without having to remove the cork. We use one at home all the time. If you order one of these wines here they come out with a serving table and make a presentation of it, like tableside guacamole, bananas foster, or greek salad (see photo). WAY overdone for a $20 glass of chardonnay. So...yeah. Very good restaurant. I'd go back and order the very same drinks and dishes, and be very happy - if we went on a Tuesday when it's probably less crowded and more quiet. And if Avanti wasn't just a few miles away.
The food is spectacular! Drinks at the bar with Brayden are phenomenal! The bar opens at 4p for happy hour but the actual restaurant opens at 5pm. This can be a bit misleading but Brayden makes up for it. This is a great upscale place to enjoy the company of friends or a sophisticated date night.
The service was really good, considering we had 3 kids in our table. The food delicious (they should have disclosed some dishes were spicy), but overall we liked everything. The lighting is too dark for my taste, the view is awesome! My complaint was about the kids meal. This is not added to the menu, but the server told us what they had available. We order spaghetti and meatballs, and they charged me $18 for a kids meal. This should also be disclosed.
This was our first visit and some things we loved, some others not so much. The entrance is lovely and welcoming. It has perfect decor and lighting for dinner at night. Now, the hosting staff was not as welcoming. We were tired and hungry from a golf outing and we feel that the host could have been more attentive and maybe smile a little. There were plenty of tables available and still, he made us wait standing at the entrance for some reason. Our server had the same unfriendly attitude She was professional, never rude, but again she could've smile a little and talk to us about the menu or wines. The wine my husband selected was excellent. The lasagna was a bit too acid, the pizza was good and so were the calamari and the octopus. The black pasta was delicious too and the desserts we ordered were the perfect ending for our night. So we may be back again to try other things on the menu, hopefully the staff is in a better mood next time.
I really enjoyed my experience here overall. The restaurant has a very upscale, fancy atmosphere but the prices are actually pretty reasonable, especially if you go for the pizza, which was tasty and satisfying. One of the highlights is the location you get a beautiful view of the waterway while dining, and it’s also really cool to watch the staff prepare your food right over the counter. It adds a nice touch to the whole experience and makes it feel unique compared to other places. The only small downside was that our server didn’t seem very engaged, almost like they were just ready to clock out, which made the service feel a little flat. Other than that, it was a great experience and I’d definitely come back again.
Breakfast: I’ve dined at Sorriso many times over the years while staying at the Westin and have also enjoyed their breakfast buffet in the past. I was pleasantly surprised this morning to find they now offer a breakfast menu (it may have been around for a while, but it was new to me). I ordered an off-menu meat lover’s omelet, and it was excellent. Our server, Kelvin, was very attentive and made the experience even better. Overall, it was an enjoyable meal and a great start to the day.
En general. Bue ambiente y comida.
Tasty food, but nasty practices. They put silverware right on the dirty tables (I really don’t think they sanitize tables after each customer), that’s totally unacceptable. You can put silverware right on the table only if they use tablecloth that usually changed after each customers (that’s not existing in United States :/). Or you put it on napkins! Also silverware was nasty old and in stained! (See photos). Yes food was good, service was fine too for the most part. But they really should learn how to service tables, because you will not see this things even in cheap European cafes.
My girlfriends and I had dinner at Sorriso's on a Saturday night. It was definitely not how I expected the service to be at all. I gave 2 stars to service because it was just sub-par from what we all expected it to be. Either it was just super busy or short staffed with table attendants because every experience with a "waiter" felted rushed and not really attentive with our party. We definitely did not have complicated orders at all, just one drink and dinner dish each in a party of 6 ladies. All of us did agree that all our dishes was very delicious and one of the dishes was warm vs being hot, just prepared. No one asked if we wanted drinks, seeing our empty glasses or how our dinner was...hhhmmm. Recommend to go option vs eating in.
LEFT A BAD TASTE IN MY MOUTH. Don’t get me wrong- The flavor of the food was exceptional, serving size was just right, the place was nice. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ was for the great service from the hostess and the other staff EXCEPT OUR SERVER. We had an early dinner and it the first time we ate here. The hostess welcomed us warmly. We chose the table far from the bar because it was a bit noisy. We were excited to try their best sellers- black seafood pasta and the chicken Parmesan. The entrees did not disappoint. Then came DESSERT- we were excited to try their coconut stracciatella gelato and a chocolate dessert (on the picture). They brought us this wonderful chocolate dessert - it was heavenly! But the gelato looked far from what we ordered. Asked the waiter to confirm it with the kitchen and we were served with a passion fruit one. Our server came to our table giving NO APOLOGY but bluntly informed us that they ran out with the one we wanted and took on himself to choose for us for the replacement. He even said it was the “mango” flavor he chose because it was refreshing. Wanted to argue but did not want to make a fuss out of it. After awhile we saw the other table having the gelato which looked like the stracciatella we wanted. It was just rude how he treated us— Not giving us the option to choose the replacement and not apologizing. Almost all servers give us options if they ran out of something but he was just something UNIQUE.
Excellent service and the restaurant is beautiful. The food, however, is nothing spectacular. Not worth it in my opinion. Truffle Agnolotti come 6 and are about 1 in for 20$. Ridiculous! Lava cake tasted like almond essence instead of chocolate and had no lava at all (were at the end not charged for that) Food temperature was just ok. The carbonara and the pizza were better options.
The Woodlands has many restaurants that give you "the look," however, I have often left restaurants feeling like the quality was not there for the high price point. Remembering my wonderful experience several months back, I chose Sorriso for my Father's birthday dinner. While this is a hotel restaurant (attached to The Westin), the service I received and the quality of the dishes ordered made me feel as if we were in a stand-alone authentic Italian restaurant. On my most recent visit with Sorriso, I am sad to say this time missed the mark. The food was tasty, the presentation was lovely, and my reservation experience, which started a week prior, went well. The hostess and managers were very accommodating with the needs of my party and the adjustments up to our actual dinner time. The service of our server is where things fell short. At first, I thought maybe he was just not a "people person"; however, I paid close attention to his interactions with the guest at other tables in his section, and he was pretty jovial with them all. I know I can be a stern critic, so when I'm out with friends and family, I make an effort to overlook certain things as an industry professional I would otherwise make a note of. Still, when the mood change is so noticeable that the guest of honor mentions it, there's a problem. Of course, I don't know how the ticket read. Some things could have been the fault of the kitchen and not the server. Nonetheless, our apps came out incorrectly. When I mentioned this to the server, he apologized only after saying, "Oh, you want that instead. I'll get that put in for you," as if I was the one to make a mistake. When our entrees arrived, modifications were missed entirely. One of my guests chose to eat around the dish, as he mentioned, the server didn't seem too thrilled to be waiting on our table. I'm not sure if he was overwhelmed or what, but he did have two large groups at one time (our party of 8 and a party of 7). However, his performance came across as unrefined and incompetent. This experience, as mentioned, was a vast difference from the dining experience I enjoyed months past. I hope this review will be used as a resource for training and housekeeping on service standards for the team. I enjoy the food at Sorriso and absolutely plan to return in the near future!
Meh food. I order Cacio e Pepe pasta and get a soupy mess of pasta water half molten cheese and what would probably have been the proper amount of pepper, if the cheese and water had been properly emulsified into the sauce. For the price, not worth it!
Saturday dinner service. Server was managing an entire section and was very busy. Octopus was burnt. Grilled chicken was dry and over cooked. Chicken Parmesan was overcooked and dry with hair like object in one piece. Server visibly not happy with less than 15% tip.
The staff was very friendly, and I like that it was attached to the Westin. I also think it’s really cool that they offer classes and host events. However I was very disappointed that the pepperoni pizza didn’t have pepperoni but instead was served with salami. This made me not want to try anything else.
I took my girlfriend to Sorriso Italian Kitchen at The Woodlands to celebrate her birthday. I noted in my OpenTable reservation that it was a birthday celebration and requested a window seat. We ran about 20 minutes late, and although I called and messaged ahead to let the restaurant know, I only reached an AI answering service. I received a less-than-pleasant call after our reservation time saying we’d missed it, though they ultimately held our table. Once seated, our server Chris was excellent — friendly, attentive, and made great recommendations. Dinner itself was delicious, but it was disappointing that the birthday note on our reservation was overlooked and no dessert acknowledgment was made. Overall, great food and service from our waiter, but the experience started and ended on a sour note.
Está bien la comida. ,buen lugar
We had breakfast here as part of our Westin stay. While this restaurant is very pretty, the breakfast was very plain yet unreasonably expensive. We had a self serve buffet breakfast yet the restaurant automatically added a $7 gratuity to the tab. Don’t fall for the breakfast package with the hotel. It’s not worth it at all. We still had a balance due after the mandatory gratuity was added.
Used to be my favorite Italian restaurant in town until the past weekend. Had the worst pizza ever. They just don’t put tomato sauce in the pizza anymore, nor a withe sauce. It was a salty, mushy crust topped with a sort of salad with cold mozzarella. Horrible! The service is still good, they tried to make it up but the food is not the same anymore. Sad
After going with the Chef's special (Flambéed Veal Chop with roasted peppers and capers and parmesan shavings served with chef made gnocchi) suggested by the server. What I got was probably 8oz veal (already cut up) with a 20oz bone. The chef made gnocchi was just small plain colored potato and the capers were stuffed green olives. Even if the order came out as deliciously described by the server I just don't ever see myself pay $75.00 excl tax for whatever I ate tonight. Great atmosphere though.
This restaurant has huge potential. The inside is very nice. The restaurant has a wonderful bar area and a cozy feel. The food has excellent presentation and is very good. However the service is lagging big time. The staff is not attentive and severely disorganized. It took 10 minutes to try to flag down our waiter. Most of the staff just stands around in the back chatting rather been attending to their tables. I have been to this restaurant three times and all three times I've experienced the same issue with the service. If they can get their waitstaff properly trained and this issue resolved this would be a wonderful spot.
A bad experience. I ate here for dinner on Christmas day and it really was a disappointment. Our waitress was very friendly, but it was noticeable that she was overstretched being the only waitress for at least half the restaurant. They didn't even bring our drinks to our table, we had to walk for them to the bar area (terrible attitude from the bartender). One of the cocktails didn't even have alcohol in it, although luckily the floor manager sorted it out quickly. The food service was quick, but the quality of the pizza was not what you would expect from an Italian restaurant. I will not go back, and personally, I will never recommend it (there are so many restaurants in the area with better food and service). - Cocktails overpriced - No parking option ...
I’ve been to Sorriso many times and have always loved the food and ambiance. However, my most recent visit for my birthday was disappointing due to the service we received. We had a reservation for 12 people, and while the table was ready and the evening started on time, the server assigned to us — an older man with glasses — made us feel unwelcome from the beginning. While he didn’t treat me directly with disrespect, his demeanor toward my guests and even my husband was condescending and cold. At one point, my husband tried to speak and was met with an impatient, dismissive look — without the server even knowing what he was going to say. One of my guests waited over 10 minutes without being asked for a drink order. It wasn’t until he brought it up to another employee (who laughed about it and told the server) that the server responded — not with an apology, but with visible irritation, saying: “I was standing there and you didn’t tell me what you wanted.” To which my guest replied, “You never asked.” What made the situation worse was the clear sense that the server didn’t care about our experience. He seemed to know the gratuity was guaranteed due to our party size and acted like service didn’t matter because of that. I love this restaurant and plan to return — the food and atmosphere are truly excellent — but I sincerely hope others don’t have to go through what we did. This server’s attitude soured what should have been a joyful birthday celebration.
The food tasted great but this was one of the worst service experiences I have had. We came to celebrate a family birthday and our waiter didn’t approach the table for us to order drinks for 30+ minutes. It was not a good experience and a place I will sadly not recommend to anyone even though the food tasted great. A server dropped a tray of plates and it spilled on someone in our group. No one approached to check if we were okay and no one apologized. Unfortunately this restaurant disappointed on what was meant to be a celebratory evening.
I want to start off by saying previous positive experiences at this location is what stops me from leaving a one star rating for this evening. My partner and I have visited Sorriso about once a year consistently on our anniversary, and not had a bad experience, but today we were punctual for our anniversary reservation- the host stand was empty. Maybe they were busy, I get it. Someone came and helped us after a few minutes and just started gesturing in general directions and telling us to seat ourselves. Okay, not a problem. It took us about 15 minutes to have someone come to our table to check on us, who didn’t ask us about drinks at any point during our visit- nor ever offered a drink menu. Just a “what we having?” Again, maybe they were just super busy. The service throughout our dinner felt super impersonal and short- which would’ve been fine and excusable to volume if the tables next to us weren’t receiving personalized and thorough attention, including water refills. Food wasn't bad, but everything came out lukewarm at best- it was not hot. Not a huge problem, again, but all of these things on top of each other made for a rather bad experience. Disappointed compared to every other anniversary we’ve spent here, we will be finding a new spot. I’m not sure why this happened or why the service in particular was genuinely pretty bad- but I wouldn’t be so frustrated to write this review if I wasn’t watching the other tables around me get attentive and personal service. Left frustrated and underwhelmed.
The epitome of over priced-corporate dining. Service was great, but I’ve had better pizza from Domino’s Pizza. $87 for a pizza and a glass of wine in Houston, Texas. Never thought I’d see that day, unfortunately that was the case. If you want quality Italian, this isn’t the place. The owners should focus on quality ingredients, like Papa John’s, maybe their pizza could surpass Domino’s!
Worst service I've experienced. The server had a very ugly attitude and made us feel uncomfortable the entire time. Completely unprofessional. I would not recommend Sorriso at The Woodlands to anyone.
So I was walking in the area and figured to grab a bite at this restaurant arriving between 9:15 - 9:30 PM on January 31 2026. As soon as I entered, I approached the woman hostess asking for a table of one. She looked me up and down, hesitated, and then told me the kitchen closed at 9 PM, even though there were still multiple tables dining. Before coming in I looked up the restaurant’s hours showing it closes at 10 PM, also the website did not mention a dress code or a separate kitchen closing time. If the kitchen truly closes early, that’s totally fine but the interaction was dismissive and unwelcoming and I wish it had been communicated more straightforwardly if it was another matter such as the casual attire. The attire is the only thing that came to my conclusion since from the start I got scanned from top to bottom. Personally, I am open to feedback and would have gladly understood, but choosing judgement & dishonesty is quite upsetting. It's the concept not the matter.
The place itself is nice, but this was by far the worst dining experience we’ve ever had. The waiter was incredibly rude, and when we tried to resolve the issue, the manager was completely unhelpful and seemed clueless. It escalated to the point where our party of ten had no choice but to walk out. Extremely disappointing and unacceptable service.
I really hope the owner reads this review , I have been t so many different restaurants in Texas and never have I experience this kind of bad service by a waiter. We were only trying to celebrate our daughter,s birthday and he repeatedly kept giving a nasty attitude and kept disappearing on us we finally decided to ask if we can get a different waiter or waitress and we asked one of the managers and he said he was the general manager and there was nothing he could have done because they had no one else to take care of us. He looked like he didn't even care.I will never nor my family ever ever go back to this place.
