Vela - Hilton Los Cabos

Wow just wow Vela was fantastic had the big eye tuna tartare, and the shrimp ravioli and dessert. Gregorio was an excellent host for my night as well as Osmar. Amazing team fine dining in Cabo you must try the food here. A nice break to have homemade pasta after a week. Wine list is also superb.

Located in Hilton Cabo this Italian restaurant caters to those who enjoy pasta and seafood. Great staff excellent view overlooking infinity pool. They have a kids menu so for those couples who want something fancier and have young children you can have an evening out and the little ones will have something to enjoy as well.

My friend and I had dinner tonight @ Vela and it was incredible! We shared the mozzarella aubergine stack, arugula salad, san marzano pasta, and the fig & goat cheese “cake” and ooooooh my goodness - not only was everything delicious, but it was all so beautifully presented and by an absolutely wonderful staff! Five stars all around!

Everything was great. We had to make a reservation as they get booked out. We sat outside next to the pool. Live music was nice.

A delightful surprise, the only excellent meal on the Hilton Los Cabos property. The paperdella with lamb was superb, ribeye steak was excellent as were the side dishes, the dessert was overly sweet and not particularly good, but overall I would say the restaurant is excellent and service was great.

One of the best dining experiences I've ever enjoyed anywhere! The service, thanks to Gregorio, was beyond spectacular. The food, thanks to Marko, was beyond exemplary. The experience, thanks to David, was most memorable. Gregorio deserves extra accolades because he went above and beyond to make my wife and me feel so comfortable while spending our advanced 25th anniversary in Los Cabos this past February . His selection of entrees and desserts were absolutely perfect to our most fastidious pallettes. We are extremely grateful to him and his entire team for creating a most magical and memorable experience for the two of us.

Delicious!! Great service and great view by the pool. Diego was wonderful. Lamb ragou was amazing!! Also tried the carbonara and the gnocchi. Great place!

Absolutely exceptio al food and service. The server was amazing. And the food...my God was it outstanding. Some of (if not the best) oysters I've ever had anywhere.

Fernando and Francisco were incredible servers! The food was delicious and the presentation truly perfect! We loved the violinist playing throughout dinner as well.

Reserved a private dinner on the beach for our 30th anniversary! Paid a little for the set up but the ambience was amazing! Thankful for Jorge who greeted us at the beach and made some excellent recommendations before leaving at the good hands of Omar who ran up and down between each courses of the meal and worked so hard to make us feel so special. The set up, the food and the service were all exceptional. Omar is also an exceptional employee. Many thanks for making us feel so privileged!

The staff is so attentive and provide excellent service. From the hostess, Rosario, who offered a warm welcome and made sure all was well throughout our dinner to our servers Cesar and Alfonso. The food was excellent along with the presentation. The bread was so yummy. The atmosphere is cozy with numerous lanterns and other lighting. We highly recommend this place.

Not only was this one of the best dinners we had throughout our entire time in Cabo in regards to the food, the service was unbeatable. I am writing this review solely to recognize the absolutely OUTSTANDING service we received from Alberto Melendrez. All of his recommendations were superb, he was funny, engaging, knows his wine and we had such a fun experience at dinner thanks to him that we came back a 2nd time. I hope when we return we see him again, he is the reason we would come back to stay at this resort.

The food is amazing, and the place is beautiful, but what really shines is the service. Abraham, Diego, and Sandra were amazing. I would love to go back.

Quaint Italian restaurant with a beautiful view of the ocean and the pool. Servers are attentive and hard working. Carbonara was excellent, creamy with bacon. San Marzano also very delicious. Husband had the filet of beef. He said it was an excellent cut of beef. We had a wonderful experience and came here 3 times during our visit.

This place was fabulous. They seated us by the infinity pool overlooking the ocean. Every course was a masterpiece. The food presentation was gorgeous. But what made it extra special was the impeccable service. We loved it.

What a hidden gem at the Hilton Los Cabos. The food was spectacular. I had the black and white shrimp tagliatelle and my husband had the spaghetti carbonara and it is safe to say it was the best Italian we have ever had.

Fantastic food and service. Absolutely recommended, worth a a trip outside of your hotel even if you’re not staying at the Hilton. Order a few entrees to share among your group for maximum experience.

The staff was the most conscientious I have seen in ages!! Pleasant, warm, intuitive --- simply lost for words on experiencing such a lovely team. Nice food. Kampachi is delicious, although small portions. Beet and carrot salad is very nice. Burrata and tomato salad is a winner!! Prawn entree is lovely and short ribs were nice. Loved the deconstructed baklava!!! Reminds me of Lebanon. And the olive oil gelato is good! The outdoor seating is intimate and adorable.

Our family had an incredible time at this restaurant—not once, but twice in one week! The experience was so wonderful during our first visit that we just had to come back. The standout feature was the exceptional service from Abraham and Gregorio. They went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect, making us feel truly welcomed and cared for. The food was absolutely delightful—each dish felt special and carefully prepared. It was the kind of meal you savor, with flavors that left a lasting impression. The ambiance was equally memorable. On our first visit, the live piano music created an elegant and relaxing atmosphere. On our second visit, a live duet added a lively and enchanting touch to the evening. This place truly offers the full package: delicious food, amazing service, and a warm, inviting atmosphere. We can‘t wait to return again.

Quite obviously the only “worthy” restaurant in the resort. I can cook the scallops better but they are not bad, especially for their size which can’t be found easily in the U.S. (thus the name “paws of lion”). Bread is well prepared and service impeccable. Bravo!

Very disappointed with the restaurant and experience. Decided to celebrate our anniversary dinner at Vela. I don’t understand the point of stating on the reservation that we were celebrating it, since they didn’t acknowledge it during the dinner, not even writing it on the dessert plate. When we arrived there were many tables available for 2, but we were seated right next to the entrance and check-in area, so everyone was standing there when they checked in and the door kept being opened. At one point I had to close the door because someone left it open, and the staff was just standing around. Don’t think we will eat at Vela again if we visit Cabo. Ambience: 2 stars Service: 4 stars, servers were very attentive and prompt. Food presentation: 5 stars, everything we ordered (Bruschetta, Prime Rib Tenderloin, and Frutti DI Marre) looked great when brought to the table. Food Taste: 1 star, other then the Bruschetta, the meals were unappetizing. The scallops in the Frutti De Marre were basically raw, they had a slight sear on both sides but the middle was gelatinous. The pasta was also undercooked. The prime rib tenderloin was cooked to the requested temperature, but was very bland. The roasted cauliflower was just seared on one side and raw, like eating an uncooked floret. The scalloped potato bake was not cooked. The waiter brought out a second serving which was also not cooked. The manager came out and said the cook made a mistake with potatoes, and was very sorry. He offered us a free dessert for the mistake.

While the staff was the best that I have encountered in Cabo yet, the food left much to be desired. Preparations were quite nice, but the pasta was just not up to par. My sauce was so salty I could barely consume it, and the meatballs were the tiny little ones that looked - and tasted- like they came out of the $10 Costco bag. I would also note that due to pictures and other reviews I expected this to be somewhat of a romantic and quiet place but it was situated in the middle of the giant Hilton Resort where there were another restaurant playing music right in your view. Do not expect to have a romantic evening here, it is in the middle of a resort without its own setting, there is no ambiance! With 1 appetizer, 2 pasta entrees, 2 glasses of champagne, our bill was around 150 USD. I felt the cost basis was extremely high for pasta, but I as I said, the staff was exceptional. There were some dishes at other tables that looked worth trying, such as lasagna, so maybe I'd give it another shot, but I think that this is more like your classic resort restaurant than the boutique it is making itself out to be with marketing. We drover over. I would not recommend driving more than 10 minutes for this one.

I booked a dinner based on the ratings here and on TripAdvisor. It was terribly boring and not worth the price. Service was solid (not five star but good) and the catch of the day was incredibly flavorless. The appetizer of three different “empanadas” were fine. I am unclear why the ratings here are so high. It’s perfectly “hotel fare”. The fish was fresh, the beer was cold (sorta) and it was….mediocre. Ambiance was….fine. Grounds are beautiful. Give your business to independent restaurants. I will not return.

After reading the reviews of this restaurant we were surprised that the meal we had at Vela was one of the worst meals we've ever had in all the years we've been coming to Los Cabos. Eight of us dined here last week and only two of us had a meal we were happy with. It was very expensive and truly mediocre food. The service was very good, but we very disappointed in our salads, appetizers, steaks and pasta dishes.

Terrible food, the appetizer with grilled octopus was awful , the mushroom aioli was unpalatable, and believe me I eat anything. I told the waiter who offered nothing to remedy situation. Keep your money and go somewhere else

One of the worst experiences of our lives. There was literally nothing good about our visit to Vela. We only chose the restaurant because it was Taco Tuesday at the other restaurant on site. Our server, Francisco, was overbearing and downright creepy. We asked for still water and were served a bottle. We luckily realized that we were being charged for the water and asked for tap water as we saw other tables being served. They took the bottle away, but still charged us for the bottle. We ordered a Mediterranean salad and Lasagna. The Mediterranean salad was not a salad at all. It was some cucumber slices topped with tomatoes and cheese. Not at all what we expected or worth the money. The Lasagna was truly terrible. We thought it tasted like a Chef-Boy-ar-Dee product. It was flat and sweet. We when spoke to the manager about the quality of our service and food, all we received was the bottle of water removed from our bill and some truly harsh, poor-quality, Limoncello. Overall, I cannot recommend this restaurant at any level. Go somewhere else.

Waited 30min for a waiter to approach our table. Took an hour for a couple of pieces of bread with olive oil to be brought out. Ordered an arugula salad that was poorly dressed, not much flavor. Spaghetti carbonara was over cooked, pancetta tasted like beef jerky. Over priced meal, save your money for better Italian.

This was our fourth and last time at this restaurant. La Pacifica is a beautiful resort. Lunch at this resort is great but I found this restaurant to be overpriced with a confusing menu. I have been disappointed every time. We had a Mediterranean salad that was $25. It consisted of three strips of cucumber with a couple grape tomatoes and a sprinkle of feta. The short ribs are fatty. The catch of the day was decent. Service was good. 👎
