We had my son’s confirmation there and it was better than expected. We chose the Pre-Fix Menu. Not only was it an insane amount of food, everyone raved how great it was. The presentation was unexpected and amazing. My son was thrilled, as were my guests. And the price was more than reasonable. Unbelievable place.

Zara Forest Grill is such a gem! The food here is incredible — the Turkish mix grill was packed with flavor and cooked perfectly, and the Turkish breakfast was honestly the best breakfast I’ve ever had in my life. Everything tasted so fresh and authentic. The vibes of the restaurant are warm and inviting, and the staff are super nice and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. Definitely one of my favorite places now — I’ll be coming back again and again!

An overnight stay in Staten Island led to a delightful dinner.restaurant wascsoacious with modern furnishings including long tables practical for group get together. We ordered baba ganoush, dolmas and a hot pastrami hummus-really baked humus topped with pastrami beef and generous cheese in a clay pot. The starters came with complimentary steaming hot baloon bread, really flat bread baked at hight heat and creating a ballooning baked dough. Mains were shared pide with cheese and minced beef and lamb kofta, both nicely seasoned and savory. Dinner ended with a turkish sweet cheese dish-kunefe. Had a bonus surprise watching dramatic, joyous bday greeting for another table celebrating. All in all a wonderful evening.

I had a wonderful experience at Zara Forest Hill Grillhouse. This charming Turkish restaurant exceeded my expectations in every way. The food was absolutely delicious, and the appetizers arrived very quickly. We enjoyed a beautiful breakfast featuring a variety of small dishes, each one a delight to try. My personal favorite was their whisked butter with pistachios and honey—something I had never tried before and will definitely order again. Their homemade cherry jam was also exceptional. Everything we had was incredibly fresh and flavorful. The atmosphere was lovely, and I had a great time sharing the experience with my family. I would definitely return and highly recommend Zara Forest Hill Grillhouse to anyone looking for authentic, tasty Turkish cuisine.

I love Mediterranean foods & took my BF here to try since we live within walking distance. The atmosphere was everything - it transported you out of Staten Island and into an Arabian Style Cafe Vibe. Decor + Music + how they celebrate was out of this world / country for sure. It made things feel even more authentic when enjoying the food. We shared an app & platter with food left over to take home. Serving sizes are plentiful! We enjoyed the music and way to celebrate; witness two birthday moments. Presentation was great as well. Overall 20/10 experience lol. Note: my BF doesn’t like lamb & he ATE THIS DOWN! ❤️

I recently visited Zara Forest Grill, and it was hands down one of the best dining experiences I’ve had on Staten Island. I came in with high expectations, and they were not only met but exceeded. The lamb gyro was the star of the meal. The lamb was so tender it practically melted in my mouth, and the spices were spot on—rich, aromatic, and perfectly balanced. The pita was fresh and soft, and the combination of flavors with the tzatziki and fresh veggies made every bite memorable. It was honestly one of the best gyros I’ve had outside of Turkey. On a different visit, I decided to try their breakfast offerings, and I was blown away. The breakfast spread was vibrant and generous, with fresh bread, olives, cheeses, and perfectly cooked eggs. The highlight was definitely the Menemen (Turkish scrambled eggs) — it had just the right amount of heat and a beautiful mix of flavors. Pairing it with their Turkish tea was the perfect start to the day. The ambiance at Zara Forest Grill is cozy and welcoming. The decor strikes a nice balance between traditional and modern, and the staff genuinely make you feel at home. Our server was attentive without being intrusive, and they were great with recommendations. Whether you’re craving a flavorful gyro or looking to indulge in a leisurely breakfast, Zara Forest Grill is a hidden gem worth discovering. It’s the kind of place where you’ll find yourself wanting to come back for more—I’ve already got my eye on a few more dishes to try next time!

This was my first time visiting a Turkish restaurant and also my first time eating in one. The restaurant's ambiance was really nice. The menu also had good choices. The staff were very professional and helpful with the menu selection. I love the birthday songs by the staff. It is very catchy - I felt like dancing. You will find the prices are just about right.

Have been here multiple times to dine in and have gotten to go as well. The food never disappoints! Any meat, be it lamb or chicken is cooked to perfection and very flavorful! Waiters are attentive, fast and very kind. The ambiance is great- inviting and airy with large windows all around. Upscale vibes without breaking the bank. Another plus, they have a parking lot across the street. Definitely suitable for all ages and all ethnicities!

The atmosphere was relaxed with a really nice energy throughout the place. The food was flavorful and cooked perfectly. You could tell they take pride in what they serve. Service was respectful and on point, they checked in just enough without being over the top. The only thing I didn’t love was the automatic tip on the check. I prefer tipping on my own terms, especially when service is genuinely good. Also the mashed potatoes was little bit sour, couldn’t eat it. Other than that, everything was solid. I’d definitely return.

I end up visiting this place twice in a month. I loved their food & service so much that I had to took my friends to try their food . The price is on the higher side, but I rather enjoy good with excellent customer service; rather than cheap food with horrible service! I have a feeling because of the price I will not be able to come on a regular basis but whenever I wanna treat myself with good food , this will be my go to place. So glad I don't have to travel 3 hours just to go on a different borough to get good halal food. Ambience is beautiful, very clean & the restrooms are excellent lol. Not just good taste they spent money decorating this place! Food portions are great, my friends loved everything they tried. I am so glad lol, or else you know how friends are ! Very rarely I get to try Turkish cuisine & I am glad for trying . Thank you everyone for all your hard work! Another thing I have to mention is that they serve alcohol, I m definitely sure if they take this out they will get much more customers! Because any place sells alcohol can’t be call halal. Maybe they can have some tasty mock-tails!

Great place located in Staten Island. Prices are relatively high for the portions and type of food you get. It's a really nice looking place on the inside. I've been here twice, and the food is great, I think the organization of the wait staff needs a bit tweaking to be more efficient. Food came out pretty fast, didn't feel like a wait. I'd come back again definitely.

The restaurant is beautiful. The food is good. Warm pita was impressive. Had an issue when we realized the 18% tip was automatically added to our bill for a party of 4. When paying by credit card, there is an additional 3% charge. On credit card receipt, there is space for another tip. We almost tipped twice until we compared both receipts. Double-check both receipts.

Look, I have no problem tipping people for their service. Any service, not just at restaurants. But don’t provide a lousy service and slap an 18% gratuity on the receipt! They also charged a 3% transaction fee! The way they setup the receipt is very sneaky. They added the 18% gratuity before tax then the 3% transaction fee but also added a line for tips at the bottom of the receipt. As if the 18% isn’t enough for their lousy service. I refuse to return to any restaurant that charges forced gratuity because from past experiences, the service always sucks. This place was no different… If you’re gonna charge gratuity, at least provide some decent service. Don’t be a stiff all together!!! This was my first time at this restaurant and most certainly will be my last.
