Grand opening weekend. Had a wonderful time. Ate three nights there while staying at the resort. Great seating inside or outside. Band was great. Service and staff. Transportation back and forth from where staying on resort. Our hook and catch blackfin tuna was amazing.

Had a great time with my wife having a few drinks and relaxing. Very polite and friendly staff who took care of us during our visit. The drinks and food are awesome and the decor is very inviting. Facility was super clean and lots of room. Stopped in again with the whole family for a later dinner and we were not letting down but it was kind of slow and the food came fast but some of it was cold, especially the fries which were good but kind if disappointed with that. Otherwise, no other complaints. Nice job Angler and Ale.

Overall, good food and arrived quickly. Conch fritters were decent portion...photo was taken after I ate two of them. Lobster roll delicious and well presented.

Tried the Grouper and Snapper blackened with tropical sauce, Yucca fries and seasonal veggies which was very delicious. Our server Stephanie provided great service. She was attentive, had a wonderful attitude and a joyfulness about her. They even went out of their way to acknowledge our anniversary in such a sweet way. Definitely recommend this restaurant.

Ate there twice, second time we brought out own fish and it was amazing, chef came out and greeted us. Ralph waited on us both times and was completely charming!

I love a fresh catch basket! This was definitely fresh fish. Yummy! The service was on point by India, who was friendly, made sure we had all we needed, and was quick with the refills. Definitely recommend this place on a beautiful day so you can enjoy the outstanding view.

This is a wonderful spot for casual dining near Islamorada. The atmosphere is super relaxed, and the location right by the water makes it even more special. It’s the perfect place if you’re looking for a quiet meal with a beautiful view. The food is really tasty and fresh, exactly what you would want from a laid-back coastal restaurant. The menu has a nice variety without being overwhelming, and the portions are just right. Sitting by the water, enjoying the calm surroundings and the gentle breeze, made the experience even better. It’s the kind of place where you can truly unwind and enjoy good food without any rush. I definitely recommend it if you’re in the area and want a peaceful and delicious meal by the water.

Always ask about the specials!! Great food with large portions, and great spirits!! Get the coconut flan if they're not out of it yet. A great place to eat that's just a shuttle ride away from Hawk's Cay!! -wish they had some Reds from Spain

Brunch June 2025 menu- If you’re looking for the perfect weekend brunch spot, Angler & Ale absolutely delivers. Every Saturday and Sunday, they serve up an incredible brunch that checks all the boxes—bottomless mimosas and Bloody Marys (yes, bottomless!), a full cocktail menu, and a lineup of entrees and sides that are genuinely delicious. The food is fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared—from savory classics to creative specials. The portions are generous, and the vibe is exactly what you want on a slow, sunny morning by the water. Add in friendly service and a laid-back atmosphere, and it’s easy to see why this has become the go-to brunch spot. Highly recommend making it a weekend tradition!

Amazing! We had a party of 10+ people for a birthday dinner. Ralph was an amazing server very friendly and accommodating to our group! I had the quadrefiore pasta and key lime pie with great results. Would eat here again!

We stopped at Angler & Ale totally by accident in our way back from Key West and we were glad we did. Beautiful, large, clean restaurant, located right on the water with gorgeous view. Our server Tanesha was great, very friendly and attentive. While waiting for our food, we went outside to the Docks and saw a lot of beautiful fish swimming right under. There's a beautiful patio too if you prefer to dine outside. Food took a while but we actually enjoyed relaxation as the view was beautiful and we didn't feel rushed. It was very worth waiting for, their food presentation was amazing, everything looked gorgeous and delicious! Our fish tacos were the best I've ever had, very generous portions. Burger was very juicy and flavorful. Salads were fresh and tasty. We've seen nachos on a table next to us and it was a huge portion! Key lime pie was the best we've ever had! Robots were zooming around helping servers to bring food to the table. I would give them 10 stars if I could, it was perfection. $90 after 3 meals, one dessert, and tips. I wish we lived closer, I would be there often!

We went there 3 times in the week we stayed at Hawks Key! So um yeah, it’s pretty good I’d say. Pictured is the surf and turf (hell yeah), skirt steak, HOOK AND COOK BABY (5 lbs of yellowtail snapper caught on the Final Final charter which I also highly recommend with Jimmy & Jared), and then the desserts that all banged (banana split sure, chocolate brownie & ice cream, and s’mores dip with graham crackers outta this world). Ask for India and/or Emily as a waitress!! A riot. Also, the bartenders were top tier; Gregory puts on a show. Get in there now.

We went in for a late app & drink today. The bartender was quick to tell us how long we had before the kitchen closed and helped us place an order in time. We LOVED the spicy watermelon margarita & shrimp cocktail. We sat next to the manager, Garlin, who quickly offered a complimentary prosecco upon learning it was our anniversary. Overall the food was amazing and the staff went above and beyond to make our experience special. Highly recommend and will be back again soon!!

Fantastic restaurant on Duck Key! Service and quality of fish was fantastic and even the drinks were mixed well. Conveniently located near the town homes since we stayed at hawks cay. We loved the hog fish sandwich and the desserts were delicious.

We stayed at Hawks Cay for our family Vaca and decided to stop by here and get some food, the whole menu was amazing looking. But we got the catch of the day which was the grouper tacos which was PHENOMENAL, it was so fresh and the flavor was amazing! I got the Caribbean BBQ chicken sandwich and the sauce was the perfect amount of spice but was so tender! Absolutely amazing! And my 3 youngest got the Mac n cheese and it was surprisingly delicious for Macaroni! The drinks were strong and on point! Highly recommend!!!!

Such fresh and delicious food! We moved to Miami from Southern California and have missed some of the fresh dining we had readily available and this made me feel like we could have a taste of home! Delicious salads and the Coconut Shrimp appetizer.

Staying at the resort for a conference and booked this as our first dinner reservation. We had an amazing meal- grouper with macadamia nut topping, and a snapper with a creamy topping with crab meat. Our server was engaging and you can’t beat the views from the deck- perfect night. Will probably return for their weekend brunch!

Been here several times and Angler & Ale never disappoints. I’d rather make the drive to Angler & Ale because I know the quality of food, and service will be consistent every time. We have only ever sat outside, but the inside surrounds look nice as well. Fun watching the boats come in, and enjoying a nice ocean breeze. Depending on the time of day, you can find a shady spot or one with sun on the patio.

Exceptional from start to finish. What a great little find. We will definitely be adding Angler & Ale to our list of go to east. From the adult beverages to the food and service A++ I had the Duck Island Tea and the wifey had the Spicy Margarita with the Tahin rim. For entrees we both had the Chimichurri Steak, we had the Yuca Fries and Coconut Rice. We also had the most amazing wedge salad. We finished the night with the Key Lime Pie….. oh my flavors abound the merengue tops it off… no pun intended. The view from the deck was awesome, overlooking the charters, bridges, mangroves. Once evening arrived the lights around the boats and docks were pretty cool. While walking the dock afterwards we saw some nurse sharks and tarpon. We will definitely visit again!

Top five seafood places in my life. I had the seared mahi mahi with piccata sauce, a Caesar salad, blue crab dip, and patatas bravas. Everything was perfect. The mahi mahi was seared perfectly. The sides are substantial and the mains are moderate to substantial, so you don't need to order much. Still worth every penny.

The food was top notch. 0 complaints. And im not a fish person (loved the gruper). The best part about this establishment is the leadership. There was an issue that occurred with food availability and communication. After the fact, the manager and server took full responsibility and went 100% beyond expectations in fixing the error. Better than any restaurant Ive encountered. The food is definitely worth it but the crew and leadership is where its at. I can say with absolute confidence that if there is an issue it will remedied with professionalism and care.

Really enjoyed our meal here! Our server Ralph was wonderful. I had the catch of the day (blackened mahi-mahi) and it was excellent! Appreciate the birthday dessert also-delicious chocolate ice cream on brownie that hit the spot. Thank you Angler for a great meal and experience!

Loved our waitress! She was amazing. Excellent breakfast with so many great choices. The bacon was cooked perfectly, eggs were on point. The fruit dish could use a little more fruit. Orange juice was wonderful. The waffles are a little different, almost a cake consistency not a typical waffle but still very nice. Recommend the mimosas samplers. The best in my opinion were the blueberry lemon mimosa and the ginger peach chefs kiss. The kiwi I really wanted to love but the kiwi flavor just isn't strong enough for that drink. Great food and wonderful service!

We had a very solid dining experience last night. The fish was very good and the cocktails were good. Not a cheap night out, but we got what we paid for. I would go again!

The food was good. Blackened grouper was good, though 1 filet was undercooked and slimy inside. My husband's tuna nachos were OK, he loved the tuna. The outdoor seating has an awesome view, looking East, so don't go there for a sunset dinner. Our server was wonderful. We are celebrating on our honeymoon and she was happy for us.

Fresh local seafood. Great place to stop for a bite. View of the Marina on this quiet Key. Appetizer was conch fritters. Not recommended little conch inside this dough ball. . We had the Whole Snapper Fried (very good but too small). And the daily special Red Snapper. Excellent

We had a large group of 17 and the staff was so accommodating and attentive. Basil did a wonderful job at making us feel at home. The food was gorgeously plated and delicious. The drinks were refreshing!

Had dinner here while staying at Hawkes Cay. The food was really good and the service too. We had coconut shrimp. The burger was really good! I thought the burrata salad was probably one of the best things I ate. It was so tasty and flavorful! Their French fries could be better - 5/10. Definitely recommend this place not only for the atmosphere but also the food:

Dec. 2022: Recommended. Came while staying at Hawks Cay Resort and enjoyed it enough. Fish tacos were good. Interesting robot used to deliver meals - really not sure it’s faster than a server but certainly fun to watch get stuck!

You hook em, we cook em. Very friendly staff, cooked my self catched fish at reasonable price. High standard place compared to restaurants around.

Awesome food! I really enjoyed the presentation of the whole yellowtail snapper! It was a sight to see! It was good too! Just be sure to remove any small bones left in there. Whatever seasoning they put on it is incredible. The place is pretty cool, we got a window view of the harbor and the sunset. The only downside of our dinner was the wait time. About 30 - 40 mins. Other than that, it was a pretty great dinner! Our waiter was very nice!

Food was mostly good though dishes are quite small for the price. The calamari appetizer thay was floating in way too much oil. Fish and burgers were good. They did not handle the crowd very well. We walked in w/o a reservation and were told to wait more than 30 minutes for a table. When we finally got a table, we were told it would take 40 minutes to get any food served. Would have made more sense to provide us both facts in advance...

We were staying at Hawk’s Cay Resort. This is just a short walk or golf cart ride (Provided by Hawk’s Cay). We were trying to stay on property. Jose was an excellent server! He did the best he could to accommodate. The manager was also very friendly and welcoming. My husband enjoyed his meal. I have a milk and egg allergy. Choices for me were very limited—-even choosing a burger I couldn’t have the bun it usually comes on.

S

Jennifer was an excellent server! The food was decent but not exciting. The environment was charming.

Angler & Ale gives me slightly elevated old folks home vibes. The seasonal vegetables that they pair with their entrees are steamed, and unseasoned. The first night we ate here, it seemed as if half their menu was 86’d (unavailable). The second night we ate here they were out of all of the same items, as well as tartar sauce, of all things. It was quite nippy outside but surprisingly the restaurant managed to be even colder. I recommend a puffy jacket if you’re dining inside.

I ordered the $33 Lobster Ravioli featuring a pepper cream sauce and butter-poached lobster. The execution was fundamentally flawed. The pasta was soggy and over-hydrated, and the "butter-poached" lobster was overcooked to a rubber-hard consistency. The pepper cream sauce was broken and curdled, resulting in a grainy, separated mouthfeel rather than a smooth emulsion. Despite the menu mentioning shaved Parmesan, it was indistinguishable. This dish prioritizes superficial presentation (like the large orchid garnish) over basic culinary process control. For this price point, the lack of technical skills is unacceptable.

Ambience: Confusing and mismatched. This feels like a locals’ hangout dropped at the entrance of a family-friendly, mid-tier resort without adjusting for the setting. In 90 minutes we heard everything from Zootopia and K-pop to Christmas music, “We Ready,” Tool/System of a Down, followed by a live acoustic country set—often at full volume. It was Christmas Eve at 5:45 pm, and the vibe was chaotic rather than festive or relaxed. Food: • Tuna tartare tower: Excellent. The clear highlight. • Fish & chips: Decent, but the coleslaw portion was absurdly small—served in what felt like a condiment cup. • Prime rib special: So bad we sent it back. The meat was nearly impossible to cut, dry, tough, with unrendered fat, and the sauce was unpleasant. The mashed potatoes were unmistakably instant. The broccoli was drowned in sauce and untouched. • Side of jasmine rice: Mushy, paste-like, and inedible. Drinks: • Lazy Lychee, Golden Hour, and the cigar-smoked bourbon old fashioned were all excellent. • Our daughter loved her non-alcoholic Marathon Mojito. Service: Five stars. Our server was fantastic—warm, attentive, and genuinely saved the experience. Overall: The food and the chaotic music killed the vibe and our appetite. The cocktails and our server were the only bright spots.

Service was slow. Food took close to an hour. No utensils, order was wrong, Brussel sprouts were hard as a rock. Fish sandwich was good.

We decided to try Angler & Ale after seeing it regularly featured on Saltwater Experience and were really looking forward to checking it out for ourselves. The marina location is beautiful, and the property itself is very clean and well kept. We arrived around 5:35 PM and were seated on the outdoor deck overlooking the water while it was still almost empty, which made the experience start off on a positive note. Unfortunately, things went downhill from there. We waited 40 minutes for our dinner. Roughly 20 minutes into that wait, our server came over to let us know my wife’s jerk chicken had been prepared incorrectly and needed to be remade. Food had been served to at least three other tables who came in after us. When the food finally arrived, my wife's mac & cheese was very dry. I suspect it was under a heat lamp waiting for the new chicken order to be completed during that 20 minute additional wait time. My fried grouper sandwich was missing the blackened seasoning I specifically requested (the server also agreed this was a great choice), and my fries were not cooked well-done as I had also asked when ordering. What was most disappointing was that no one came by to ask how our meals were. I had to calmly call the server over to discuss the issues. She was pleasant and immediately offered to comp our drinks and add a dessert, which we appreciated but wasn't necessary. However, simply comping items without a manager stopping by doesn’t really address the bigger issue or help prevent it from happening again. I felt like I was just being dismissed. Given the beautiful marina setting and reputation, we expected more. Sadly, based on this visit, we wouldn't want to go back.

My family went there for Christmas Eve dinner. I made the reservations months in advance. We would have walked out sooner if our server Emily was not incredible. Our 1st couple of courses were good but it took almost 2 hours for our entree’s to come out. It wasn’t just us. Most of the restaurant was experiencing the same thing. When our meals finally arrived they were cold and overcooked. That is a hard combo to pull off. We felt horrible for our server who was working very hard with minimal support. At that point I asked for the manager - not sure they had one bc we would expect they would have been on the floor supporting staff and apologizing to customers. She eventually came out. We praised our server to her and questioned where she had been for the almost 3 hours we were there and sending our entree’s back. She was hiding on the line and letting her young servers fend for themselves on the floor. It was a very disappointing experience to say the least. The restaurant didn’t deserve the 3 stars for service but our server did a 5 star job so I split the difference. This is only the 2nd review I have ever posted on google.

Wanted to like this place but nothing was great for any of us (8 in total). Fries were cold. Mashed potatoes were cold. Rice was dry. Shrimp was bland and boring. And wahoo was tragically overcooked. Server took something off the bill at the end after telling us he “couldn’t believe things were that bad.” As first impressions go, it couldn’t have been much worse. Definitely will not be back.

I don't usually review restaurants but our experience was very disappointing for a rather pricey meal. We waited ten minutes for a server before finally asking a host to send someone. The firecracker shrimp and the lobster ravioli did not have much flavor at all. The flatbread pizza was stacked on the plate, which resulted the cheese from the slices on the bottom sticking to the slices on the top. Who ever heard of stacking pizza slices? I hope this feedback is helpful.

We went here last night. Wow is all I can say. They need to close. Get their staff trained then reopen. Food was good. But we received our apps 3 times (yes same app 3 times). Dinner took 1h 45 mins for it to come out. In that time they sent us 3 other tables meals. Once our meals did come one person got Frys only yet ordered fish sandwich. One ordered the jerk wrap. No mango slaw came out ( when asked for it they sent a bowl of coleslaw with mangos on top). One ordered the lemon rice. No lemon’s. They didn’t take our drink order until our dinner order Just over all a total mess the people behind us they brought the wife’s food out 4 times each time it was wrong. .

It was 2 hours plus after we arrived before we got our food. We were seated by the door and the smell of smoke was strong. The atmosphere was loud and we couldn’t hear each other speaking. When we were seated the server told us it would be 40 minutes before our food arrived. Do they need more kitchen staff?

I made a reservation for 7pm we got there a little early 6:40 they sat us right away. Wonderful.. so we thought a server didn’t come over till exactly 7:28 then we didn’t actually get our drinks until 7:40 by 8:15 we asked to pay for the drinks and left it. The waits were awful we saw people sit and get their drinks and apps before us when it was just 2 of us. Our waitress barely came by or apologized. We were renewing our vows that night and we wanted a nice dinner really ruined the night for us. We ended up going to salt and ash which we had a wonderful time would not come here again

Awful. Reservation for 3 months at least, for Xmas eve wish we knew it was so horrible!!! Waited over an HOUR with only drinks, they do not give you bread or anything. Finally food comes out, for the prices, the portions are laughable!! You leave as hungry as when you came in. Food was subpar, I've made better meals at home. Got dessert to bring back as we were still starving, a $15 banana split is literally one banana with whipped cream and a cherry. That's it. It's so small, they don't tell you what's on it even if you ask. It's a joke. The tiramisu is a sample size for another $15. Total joke and waste of time and Xmas eve dinner. Do not recommend!!! $150 for sitting in the wind and cold and left starving with a sad banana with a cherry. Don't bother!!!! Service is terrible too, so is the "live music ". Just go someplace else. $$$$$$$$$ 👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎

Sat down to order food and thought that everything was fine. After we ordered our drinks it took 15 minutes before they brought us the water. We received our drinks 10 more minutes later. After 30 minutes of just looking at the menu we finally got to order and we brought our own fish to have them cook. The atmosphere was nice and we were enjoying ourselves until it became 40 minutes later before the waiter came back. We had to get our own pitcher of water from the bar! Soon after half of us got our food and it was stone cold food. While the cold food was thawing on our table, we decided we had enough. We stood up and walked out. On our way we ran into our waiter that tried to get us to eat the frozen pieces of ice. Ps they never gave us the fish that we brought to them. Also the food we did get wasn’t what we ordered. The manager was really nice and flipped the bill but we had an un enjoyable experience.

A

Our experience started out strong, accommodated and seated relatively quickly. Drinks ordered with apps, and all that came out for us being a split group on 20 (10 at our table, separate waiter). We ordered entrees and then came the wait. Our other party ordered a few minutes before we did, and got theirs about 30 min later, normal. But we kept waiting. And waiting. And waiting. We asked our waiter a few times if everything was good, he said yes. But more waiting. The other table had plates done and cleared already! Over an hour later, we finally got our meal. The food was good! But not worth the time it took to get it. Then came the issue of the bill. Mind you, we told our waiter when we started that we were a group of couples and were ordering separately. The bill comes out all as 1. No problem, we ask him to split it up instead. Nope, can’t split more than 4 ways due to their system being down. What? The poor waiter brings us this news and we are so confused at this point why this was not mentioned to us. We asked our waiter for a manager, who confirms we need to do our own calculations to figure this out. So we do, we exchange cash, and we finally leave after over 2.5 hours. Talked to the manager after and it’s his first month on the job. The waiter also looked brand new, so I can’t fault them. But the service model here needs some serious TLC. That long of a wait, not prime rush time, and not being able to put in separate orders or split a bill? For the money we will absolutely not be back- horrendous experience. Save your time and spend your money elsewhere.

I do not recommend dining at Angler and Ale. The service was inadequate to say the least.. the waitress did not come back to give us water until, after 40 minutes we ourselves asked to receive more water, even then she never came back to bring water. The waitress only brought half our food to the table after an hour and fifteen minutes of taking our order. When we did receive 3/7 meals of our meals… they were cold, not room temp but actually cold. Never in my life have I received such terrible and cruddy service and food from an establishment.
