Finally, a good coffee shop that is open after 5pm! Love this place. The coffee is flavorful and espresso is excellent. Staff is friendly. The cookies and pastries have gluten-free options that are great. Definitely glad to have this coffee shop added to the other great coffee shops in San Clemente.

Let’s just say… I’m picky about coffee and matcha. Hands down this is the best matcha in town and the atmosphere is such a vibe. Kudos to this local family for busting their butts to transform this place into a beautiful community hub. Now my #1 go-to coffee spot.

Our favorite place in town!! Love coming here with my family. Coffee, pastries, and everyone inside is great. The outdoor space in the back is perfect for kids to just run around while parents can actually sit back and enjoy their coffee.

Cutest coffee shop with amazing coffee and GF pastries! The maple latte was incredible, can’t wait to get it again. And love that there’s space on the patio for kids to hang too!

This new coffee shop is just the BEST! The inside is so cute and inviting. I love how they set this place up. The pastries are out of this world delicious, and they make some of the best lattes i've ever had. The house made cold foam is soooooooooooooo thick and good! It's become a new go-to for myself and my co-workers!

BEST COFFEE AND WINE SHOP EVER!!!!!!! The staff are incredible, so welcoming, great customer service. The espresso and matcha are insane, the beer and wine at afternoon/night is such a vibe. I love you guys so much, thanks for opening and being the best spot ever. PS your merch is sick.

My boyfriend and I stopped into The Happy Coffee Club a couple of weeks ago after seeing it on one of my friend’s Instagram stories — and we were so impressed! The first thing I noticed was how beautiful and inviting the space is: high vaulted ceilings, light and bright interiors, and plenty of room to work or relax. Even though it was busy, it didn’t feel crowded. My boyfriend ordered an iced coffee, and it was amazing! I also love that they’ve transformed the back parking area into a fun, safe space for little ones to play — perfect timing since my sister and two-year-old nephew are visiting soon. And as if great coffee weren’t enough, it’s also a wine bar now — such a fun touch! As a local real estate agent, I’m always looking for professional yet comfortable spots to meet clients, and this checks every box. Nothing but good things to say about this place!

☕️✨ Happy Coffee Club might just be our new obsession. The pumpkin latte is pure fall perfection so good we went twice in one day. The vibe is cozy, the coffee is top-tier, and the owners and staff are genuinely the kindest people. Feels like a place you’ll want to come every day. 🤎

My first visit to Happy Coffee Club was such a lovely experience. From the moment I walked in, I felt genuinely welcomed and at peace. I went pretty early in the morning, so it wasn’t super busy, which made it feel extra calm and cozy. I got a slice of the sourdough banana bread and it was absolutely amazing—so flavorful and comforting. I also ordered a hot oat milk vanilla latte for here, and it was so good. You can really tell it was made with care and attention to detail, which makes all the difference. The girl at the front was incredibly sweet, asking everyone what they were up to for the day. It was such a small but thoughtful touch, and honestly really cute getting to hear what everyone had planned—it made the space feel warm and community-oriented. There’s both indoor and outdoor seating, and it’s super comfortable—perfect for catching up with a friend or journaling like I did. I’m already so excited to make this a regular spot I come back to. Such a happy little gem. ☕️🤍

Really didn’t have any expectations and ended up being blown away. When coffee shops are a dime a dozen, it’s hard to stand out. They nailed a unique fresh atmosphere, great indoor and outdoor seating, and the drinks were just as good as the aesthetic. It’s hard to find a good matcha, and theirs is new new fave find in town, deep green and balanced 🍵. Can’t wait to come back during the week!

Definitely one of the best coffee quality places in South OC. Always perfect latte arts, nice baristas, clean coffee equipment, local people love it, nice back patio zone and good interior. One and only drawback is the parking spots availability, but this is old town San Clemente, so it’s ok

Tucked into the laid-back surf vibe of San Clemente, this coffee shop feels like the perfect pause between the beach and the rest of your day. The space is bright and welcoming, with a relaxed coastal atmosphere that makes you want to linger—whether you’re stopping in after a morning walk or settling down with a book. The coffee is clearly taken seriously here: smooth, well-balanced, and thoughtfully brewed. Their espresso drinks are rich without being overpowering, and the drip coffee is clean and flavorful, the kind you can enjoy black or with a splash of milk. Friendly baristas add to the experience, happy to offer recommendations without any rush. It’s the kind of place that captures San Clemente’s easygoing charm—great coffee, good energy, and a spot you’ll want to come back to. ☕🌊

This place is delicious! I got a caramel latte and I've got to say, best in town. Girl at the register was very nice! Love the inside, also really love the dark green and white theme with smiley logo! Cute, simple, clever, memorable with fantastic coffee, to boot. Bonus: Open until 8:30 PM... That is unheard of around here! I can't count the times I've wanted a coffee after 5:00 but remembered that's apparently not a thing down here. I feel like this place will go a long ways 🙂

I want to first state that I have absolutely no affiliation with the owners of this coffee shop. I have been following Shelby's coffee shop journey on Instagram for the past 2 year's. When Happy coffee club finally opened i decided to give it a try. (Note that I live 30 to 35 min away). Now for the review... If you genuinely love coffee, then you will absolutely love Happy coffee club. I have been there over 15 times since they have opened and the coffee is ALWAYS consistent. I am boring and always order an iced vanilla latte and every time it is near perfect. You can taste the quality in the coffee beans and milk they use. The latte tastes like coffee in a refreshing none bitter way. It is not too sweet nor too milky. It is actually the ONLY place I can drink coffee from, as it does not cause me to crash afterwards...(please never change the quality you are offering) the atmosphere is equally exquisite and beautiful. I have seen the owners working in there several times and from what I have observed they are down to earth, humble and gracious people. This coffee shop is a genuine gem.

The café is so nice, perfectly located, beautifully designed, and I can tell the owners put a lot of love into this! I got an iced matcha with almond milk, it didnt come sweetended so I asked for it to be sweetened with honey. It was $9.70 without a tip included for the small size. It was good but $10 for a matcha was steep forsure.

Happy Coffee Club is such a charming spot with a beautiful, cozy aesthetic and incredibly kind, welcoming staff. We tried the matcha and an Americano—both were decent—and the banana bread, which wasn’t quite for me. Prices are a bit steep (almost $25 without tip for drinks and a small slice), but the great service and lovely atmosphere still make it an enjoyable place to visit.

I’ve been here twice for matcha. The first time I got a banana matcha, and the matcha was great but I couldn’t taste the banana at all. I visited a second time and got a strawberry matcha. But again, extremely subtle flavor, can barely taste any strawberry and doesn’t seem worth the extra charge. I’ll probably stick to plain matcha.

I’m honestly bummed to leave this review, and it’s not coming from a place of hate at all. I was really excited to try this spot after seeing it all over TikTok. The vibes are great, the coffee shop itself is beautiful, and the location is awesome. Unfortunately, the coffee was disappointing. It felt rushed by the staff and ended up being pretty mid. I’m hoping this was just an off day and that I can give it another try in the future.

My wife and I came here for a business meeting down in San Clemente and the area itself is beautiful, so it was a great setting overall. We stopped into Happy Coffee Club and I ordered a Vanilla Latte with Vanilla Cold Foam while my wife got a Vanilla Matcha with Cold Foam. The Vanilla Latte was good, but a little too sweet and a bit too milky for me. The Cold Foam honestly was not needed, especially since there was already a cream base at the bottom that I was not expecting, so it just made the whole drink feel a little overdone. Still enjoyable, just not something I would rush back for. The Matcha unfortunately missed pretty hard. It was very watery and lacked that creamy, slightly bitter, smooth matcha flavor you would expect. It just felt watered down and did not hit at all. That being said, the service was very sweet. Everyone there was super patient and helpful while we were figuring out what to order. The space itself is also really cool with a nice outdoor patio and a small, quaint interior that would be great for studying or getting some work done. Overall, cool spot and great vibe, but the drinks were nothing too special. I would come back for the atmosphere, just probably not for the Matcha.

I’m becoming so disappointed with not only the service but the consistency of the drinks. I have been coming since they first opened and to say it is as great now as it was then would be lie. The staff has become quite unfriendly and treats you as almost a bother. Not to mention the consistency of the same drink is always different. The color is never the same nor is the taste . Not to mention with receiving wrong orders the past few times of going and when I have received the correct ones it’s make without the flavor I get charged for and a splash of cold foam. Overall I am becoming quite disappointed with the service and quality especially for the price.

Was hoping this was going to be a great local spot however the coffee was more milk with a splash of coffee. Not worth the almost $10 for the cup. If they workout their ratios I think I would bump my review. I understand they make their own syrups which is nice. I also am tired of companies charging such a high premium for alternative milks. While they are more expensive, they are not at the increased cost they charge for the substitute. I'll return and try again.

Uncomfortable experience and poor management. When we arrived, a group of customers had taken over the back parking lot as a play area for their kids and blocked the driveway with a “children playing” sign. One woman kept telling us we weren’t allowed to park, said we were putting kids in danger, and asked me where I was “from,” which was completely inappropriate and made things very uncomfortable. Both the barista and the owner confirmed we were allowed to park, but the owner didn’t want to step outside or address it because the woman was a “regular.” When we tried to leave, the driveway was still blocked and no one from the shop stepped in. The coffee was good, but being confronted by another customer and watching management allow it to happen ruined the experience.

I had a very unpleasant and disappointing experience at Happy Coffee Club today. My wife and I ordered two drinks — one iced latte and one regular latte. When our order was ready, the staff started calling out “China?” several times. I was confused at first, but when I checked the receipt they were using, I was shocked to see “CHINA” printed in large letters as the customer name, right above our drink order. No customer should ever be labeled or called by ethnicity. This kind of behavior is unacceptable, unprofessional, and disrespectful. When I asked, “What did you say?” the staff just handed me the drinks without any apology or explanation. Being called by something other than my actual name felt humiliating and wrong. I truly hope the management takes this seriously and ensures that no other customer — regardless of who they are — has to experience something like this again.

Hey! I am rarely ever leaving negative reviews. Today we drove from HB and brought our whole family (which is 8) to chekx out the signature drink “fridge cigarette”. We asked if we can get some of those drinks and they responded “ sorry we ran out of Diet Coke and mostly everything else today, our owner had. A birthday party here last night and didn’t restock anything.” So then i said bummer and explained we drove down from HB to check it out. She responded your not missing out. The drink ISNT GOOD AT ALL!! If this was my employee i would’ve died 😂. So we try and place orders for other drinks. They’re out of cold brew… strike 2. Then we asked if tha was their last cinnamon roll, she responded yes and then all of a sudden another employee “wearing a buckees shirt” grabs the cinnamon roll and puts it in the back room. Caught us off guard so we couldn’t buy that either. So we settled for a couple drinks and some other pastries and they were super dry and hard. Hope they get their act together.
