Love the Brussel sprouts yummy
Great place, If you sit @ the bar, the guys are great and provide great service. The food is good, The classic growlers burger is the best.
THE place for craft beer, 20 select taps of the finest with one hand drawn and two dedicated nitro lines. Extremely knowledgeable and super friendly staff. Don't miss the daily "Hoppy Hour" and free live, high quality music on Saturday nights. Top it all off with an innovative and delicious menu and Growlers is a wonderful asset to Westchester and a clear destination boite for NYC's backyard.
If I lived in the area, this would be my bar. I've met up with friends here twice, a year apart, and coming in from across the country. Everyone is super friendly and the food, service, and beers are all top notch.
Hey Goodstein, Local businesses here in Tuckahoe get hit up for donations every week and cant be your cash cow. If a business owner says they cant donate money, you shoukd respect that without blasting them negatively on the internet. Have some class, understanding and think before you post. If I went to your door askung for a handout evety week, would you say yes? I dont think sooooo!!! Great place for fun, laughs and amazing beer and great food!! Cheers CB - Honorable WOF Member :{
Great place for young couples with kids to grab a quick lunch. The staff was very friendly and food was good. The Metro North metered parking is pricey so be mindful of that.
Love this place. The staff and beers are off the chart great. I will always stop here for a brew or two.
Excellent beer selection and new menu. Good vibes. Thanks for saving me after metro north failed to get me home. You guys made me feel welcome!
Excellent NY beer selection with exceptional service. First time customer and will definitely be back.
Great craft beer, burgers and pasta dishes. Relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. Thank you Joe for waiting on my family.
One of my favorite places for drinks and a good meal. Go on Tuesdays for Trivia Night. Always a great time at Growlers. I would highly recommend this place.
The service was above and beyond. Brandon was welcoming,, attentive, friendly, and very informative. Overall a great experience! Definitely go back.
Great beer selection and food. There's always several IPA's for me, and many wheats, whites, and cider options for my lady which is cool. The food is mostly BBQ and southern with twists. The servers and bartenders I've had have all been nice and quick. One of our favorite in the area.
Jeff was the bartender, barback, bar manager, FOH manager, maître d’, patio server, indoor server, mixologist, cocktail waitress, GM, kitchen manager, sommelier & expo and ensured my wife and I had one of our best nights out in the last 5 years. Drinks were spot on, food was delicious and service was ready when needed. I feel like I finally found the local spot I have been searching for in Westchester.
Best place for craft beer in Westchester, love coming here after work or on a weekend. Never too packed that it's uncomfortable but always a good vibe. Wait staff is very helpful with suggestions on the frequently rotating tap menu.
Growlers is one of my favorite places in the world, the beer is always fresh, the staff is very knowledgeable, and you'll never see the same thing over and over again. You can join the beer trail by drinking 100 different beer in any amount of time, and you'll get you name on a plaque up on the wall. It's not a place to grab a Bud Light! They have an awesome selection of small distillery bourbons, and other spirits. The food is good, could be better but it's good.
A great place for quick service and good food and beer! Always a good crowd but not packed. Quite enough that you can actually have a conversation with somebody. But the games are on and great staff at the bar as well.
Great little brewery that genuinely surprised me on my first Bike Night hosted by Empire Harley Davidson. The beers were FANTASTIC! I expected mediocre and I got superb. That Mango Sour was mmmmmmm chef's kiss! But they also made this super dope pumpkin oktoberfest for the fall that is oh so delicious. Patrick and Melissa are literally the best so tell them Parker said Hi on your next visit!
Old railroad utility building remodeled to a small but comfortable bar/restaurant close to the Tuckahoe train station. The food is quite good, recent menu changes have brought some fresh life into the place. But of course you probably come for the beer and they have an amazing selection of beers both on tap and in bottles and cans. The taps rotate quite often, and they try to bring in as many different styles and breweries as possible. Tuesday night trivia is fun, and they occasionally host live music. It can be a bit noisy inside, so not a place for a quiet date and probably also not a great place for families with younger children. Cheers!
Margaritas were great, I had the watermelon and mango. Very yummy. Fish tacos with mango sauce were on point. Awesome service. Be back soon A+
This place is super. Selected nights they have live music . Located at tuckahoe train station area. Great Food. Beers too expensive ., they are okay. We had the burrito. It was super BIG portion but to die for.
Growlers is an absolute Gem! The Beer menu is constantly changing which give you a great opportunity to experience a variety of beers. The NY Pretzel and Growler Fries are a must have! They also host a lot of great events live Trivia Tuesdays, live music, and Harvestfest.
Great local spot for a date night or just to enjoy the game. Beers are locally sourced so it's always rotating. Food is made from scratch and if you have room you have GOT to get the cheesecakes! They are made by the owner's mom. They are decadent, luxurious, and a pure treat. The staff are courteous and attentive. If you have the chance to stop by, then definitely do so. Great experience will continue to visit.!
Great neighborhood spot. Jeff deserves 10 stars for keeping this place going on a busy holiday Sunday. He single handily took care of everyone! Despite the staffing issues he faced, he was attentive and friendly. Food was very good too.
Hi - had a great experience at Growlers today. Probably the best burger I've had in a long time. Jeff was our waiter and was great. Also got to meet Phil, one of the owners. We chatted for a while because "prior" to Phil, I had stopped going there due to the food and service. Totally different now. Great service, great foot, super good wine! Thanks guys for a wonderful lunch. Highly recommend!
They have a wonderful variety of food. The salmon was delicious. The waitress/bartender named Cyndel had an amazing memory and was in charge of the whole bar and tables. She was very attentive. Looking forward to going again.
Perfect little hometown bistro pub. A two minute walk from home so you can stumble Tuckahome after. Great service and food. Attentive and cozy but non-pretentious. They always greet us with a smile and welcoming warmth. It seems to have a great crowd of regulars. I may be becoming a Tuckahop head regular. The French rose they have on the bottle is one of the best I’ve ever had. Pairs nicely with French friends and French onion soup. I don’t really remember what all I’ve had there except wine but I know it was goooood. Great place to meet up with Harlem line commuter friends for happy hour. Next stop Tuckahoe!
Excellent spot if you want some good beers and food to go along with your beer selections. Staff are helpful and knowledgeable of the beers and food on the menu. Came to meet up a coworker I barely see anymore to hang out and catch up. Great spot for a small or large meetup.
Great spot. I was in on a Sunday and had a wonderful experience. Loved the chicken sandwich and the service was great. We’ll be back. I’ll do the chicken sandwich again and I’d like to try the bolognese too
Hidden away gem. Wonderful array of constantly changing ales. Something for everyone. Dave & Phil and all the other staff are super friendly and will bend over backwards to accodate you or find the game you would like to watch on their many TVs. Customers are just as friendly. A real homely feel where you can just wonder in on your own the first time and feel like you've been going for year !
Amazing Restaurant/Bar!! Can’t say enough good things about here. Hands down my favorites were the brisket nachos the Growlers Classic burger and make sure to try the mashed potatoes! The owners and employees make this place feel like home! You will not be disappointed when you come here!
We ordered online for a delivery on St Patrick's day. Obviously a busy night for the restaurant! The corned beef was 86ed (which happens!) but there was no communication between the online ordering company & the restaurant. Our order arrived missing 2 meals. A quick call cleared it up and the restaurant was incredibly apologetic. Even though we live on the other side of town, the replacement meals arrived within 30 minutes. The service was fantastic & it was appreciated! Highly recommend!
What a perfect spot to pop into for dinner or drinks. Great for date night or just hanging with a table of friends. Staff is absolutely a dream- kind and polite, informative and so friendly. The food was by far my favorite in the area. Heartly and full of flavor. Ticks all the boxes great beer and cocktails. Dog friendly outdoor area and cool interior vibes.
Great place food and beer, good attentive stuff. Then we saw some live performers setting up 5 ft away from our table so we got the hell out of there before we got blasted out by them. Good way to lose customers away.
If you're a beer enthusiast, this is the place you want to come to. The selection is plentiful, staff is well versed on the drinks, they're friendly, and the food is delicious. My boyfriend won't eat wings anywhere else. Great place for watching games, enjoying a cold brew, and getting some tasty food. Will always recommend the growler fries and wings.
Nice cozy place. Good American food. They have a small patio that they also allow dogs.
One of the best places to bring your dog. Everyone is so friendly you will feel right at home.
The honey garlic wings are actually a hidden gem, everything I’ve tried has been amazing though. Love trivia and bingo nights!
Really fun place! Went once for bingo night, another time for trivia night. Great food, friendly staff, and amazing service.
We recently hosted a surprise 40th birthday party at Growlers and it was great! The food, drinks, service and atmosphere were great. All of our party goers raved about how it was the perfect spot. Highly recommend!
We were looking for a Sunday brunch location nearby and found Growlers website. Honestly, I'm not much a fan of beer bistros since so many have mediocre "bar food" but I was very happily surprised how incredibly good their food was! We had three in our party for the brunch menu (limited in choices but worth it) and, all in, it was very affordable: Three brunches, one round of bloody Mary's for everyone, three coffees and with tax & tip all for $130 in total. Everyone thought the food was terrific. I took one star off for atmosphere only because I personally thought the music was a bit loud, although I could've asked it to be lowered by our very friendly server. This is definitely a worthwhile spot.
Good spot for a group of friends to hang out and just have some fun! The beer selection is nice and the food is not bad either. Go for some fun and plan on spending a couple hours!
Food is good. Especially artichoke dip. Beer selection is interesting but not enough tasty lagers on tap. Recently they've had oktoberfest and hofbrau beers which are on point
Growlers is a great place, staff has always been attentive and food is consistent and very good. Beer menu is excellent.
Got dinner and a few beers, beer selection was quite nice, however food menu was a touch expensive for some items, very good atmosphere and energy though
The only negative thing I can say is that my takeout experiences have been below average - but the dine in experience is always on point
Had a great time here. Went with a bunch on my boys. Live band was great and interacted with the crowd. And the food and beer 👍👏 awsome. Check it out!!!
Great spot for a craft beer. Food is normally just average but you come for the drinks!
Great beer selection, a lot of local-ish options. Food is pretty good for bar atmosphere, like the chili they put on the nachos and other dishes. Slightly pricier than near by places but has more of a hip vibe. Often crowded especially on weekend nights, can be a bit of a wait for a table, surprisingly loud. Staff is friendly but not too quick, can take a while for food and drinks.
Nice selection of NY brews and overall styles. Food well done and a step above bar fair. Good size crowd, but wish a little more "noise"- quiet conversation hurt the atmosphere. Worth the trip, laugh out loud.
Love coming here best beer in town never have an issue getting a table even though is small. Very clean and good vibe. Burgers and wings spot will not let you down.
Great place. Bartender was awesome ! So attentive and sweet. Enough TV’s to watch the games and good music. Many beer options and great food menu. The only negative is that you must pay for parking.
Been going here for years. Now it has a new owners and is even better then before. If you like Jackie B's in Scarsdale, you will recognize the menu and signature drinks.
Good beer selection that tends to deviate from the local bars in the area. Some of the more aspirational beers you could want appear from time to time. Good burgers and the devils on horseback are wonderful. Also, a fan of the growler fries. Tends to be a bit loud even with no sports of note on any of the screens/monitors
This is a local pub in this neighborhood. Food is good, staff were friendly and beer selection were vast. Cool place to visit along the way but not to go out of my way for.
The beer is the real draw here. Nice place with food that is pretty good. Menu looks to be recently expanded giving you several new options for lunch or dinner.
Not the fanciest place in the world — it has more of a casual brewery vibe — but they serve solid pub fare. I had the cheesesteak and the garlic parmesan bacon fries. Great beer selection, and our waiter was friendly. The food prices are a little high for what you get, but overall it’s a spot worth returning to.
Great selection of beer and they change it up frequently. They always have some kind of a Porter/Stout on a nitro tap - awesome! Service is solid, the food is delicious (brisket burger is AMAZING), and it's a great atmosphere. You can go for a nice dinner or to drink and listen to live music. Always a good time.
Used to be my watering hole. I would go there for trivia and beers all the time. I went for the first time in years and I'm a little disappointed. The food remains great, beer selection delicious. It's a little sad that they got rid of the growler fries. For a place that was pretty dead on a Tuesday, the service was pretty slow. The atmosphere was just weird. They added a dartboard and it just felt out of place but that could just be the nostalgia talking. Like I said it was still really good but from where it was. I'm a little disappointed.
Surprisingly good selection of rotating draft beers that goes beyond just the high profile NYC and upstate breweries. I was pleased to see both lesser-known local breweries as well as personal favorites from all over the US, such as The Bruery. The burger was tasty and the staff both efficient and friendly.
Had a ton of fun here! Went for Happy Hour and stayed for their Tuesday trivia night. Echoing what everyone else is saying about the great beer selection. Got food to share: standard buffalo wings, yummy sweet potato fries, but the NY style pretzels we ordered were really bad. Incredibly salty, with a chemical-tasting dijon dip, and confusingly lumpy cold beer cheese. We sent them back and they took it off our bill. I’ll be back to Growlers for the good vibes and beer but won’t be ordering the pretzels!
I don't know quite what to say- we keep coming back but every time we do, we say it's our last. Pros, first: The beers are great with a rotating selection that keeps things fresh and seasonal. The food is usually good- they stick to a heavy-duty pub food and do fairly well with it. Nothing fancy and nothing remotely healthy. Parking is amply available in the attached lot. Where this place falls down is service. We(my husband and I, or us with our two children) have never made it out in less than an hour, no matter how little we order or what time we come. We've been there as the only table in the place- 1 hour for two drinks and two burgers. As one of fifteen tables- 1:30. The wait staff seems to spend at least as much time on cigarette breaks as they do on serving tables. Their attentiveness to pub-basics like making sure empty glasses are quickly exchanged for full ones (if only from a profit motive) is astonishingly lacking. We do seem to have the same waitress every time, so perhaps there are real standouts but I doubt it. I've seen diners give up on their waitress and walk up to the bar to get their own refill. Something is seriously wrong if that's happening. Again, I guess it says something for the quality that it's still the best burger and beer in town but they really test my patience every time I come.
Pricy. No buy backs. All add-ons for meals cost almost a 50% upcharge in a full meal like cheese, bacon, nacho toppings (awful nachos!). Slow, blah service and kinda faux trendy vibe but great music and some pretty interesting and great beers!
The crowd is "eclectic"....the band was "interesting". The beer selection? Not sure. But, the bartender was nice, and the "pour" of top shelf liquor was good👍🏽
For staters the fish tacos were very good but the burger was dry and hard. No taste! Good beer selection!
They have pretty good food and a great beer see selection, but they often get the food order wrong and the kitchen can get backed up very easily.
Great rotation of craft beer! Friendly service! A must go for a craft beer enthusiast! Edit: (Editing from 5/5 to 3/5 and will revise upon further visits. Just came here on 6/2) They brought me the wrong beer from the bar (IT WAS STILL GOOD but disappointing). The WORST was that Saturday nights are supposed to be chill but the bar was playing music really loud and not music that was in the demographic of the patrons. I still love this place and I understand having a bad night every now and then, but I will not be coming back on Saturday’s for awhile.
Just ordered 30 wings to go and by far the worse wings I've had in years. Overcooked, hard which basically means not fresh. I recently had wings from the establishment just 2 months ago and they were the best in the neighborhood including Jack's, Tuck'ed Away, and Mickey's. Fries were bad as well. Back to the Green Room for wings!!
It's been a couple of years since I've been here. I was a really big fan of the place. So I was really disappointed to see that it had changed hands, and that the food and service took a nose dive. After telling the server twice I wanted my burger medium rare, it came out medium well. My fries were almost all leftover small broken pieces, soaked with oil. I did ask for new fries which they brought. But even the fresh fries were nothing like the great truffle Parm fries they used to have. This would explain why the place was pretty empty on a Saturday night, where in the past it was always buzzing. Oh well, nothing lasts forever. Don't think I'll be going back.
You could do worse. You could do better. Food is pretty heavy duty barstool fare. Beer is cold. Service okay but not exceptional.
Went to Growlers to watch the Knicks game. Cool atmosphere and good beers in cans. Food? Terrible. We got wings, nachos and fries. Wings were decent. Nachos were horrible - no flavor, dry, very poorly plated. Fries were cold and had no flavor. But they ended up putting 2 orders of fries on the final bill.
I was disappointed after being so excited to have the chance to go here again. Last time was probably close to a decade ago. The food tasted good, but every plate we ordered seemed stale, as though it was cooked yesterday and partially reheated before serving. Regarding the service, it was ok. But I had ordered fries and did not get ketchup. Even though it wasn’t busy, we didn’t see our server at all for the length of the meal; once it started to get crowded, I decided to just eat the fries without it. I was really disappointed to have spent a rare night out and the money on this experience. Hopefully this experience was a one-off because it still seems like a great place.
My family and I love coming here for the beer, food and service. The staff here are professional, welcoming, and good vibes. You can't go wrong with the burgers, appetizers and the wings! This time I tried the Al Pastor tacos and was pretty bummed that there was little meat in the pork and most of it was chewy fat. It was seasoned fine and the pineapple pieces were refreshing but I couldn't get over how much fat there was. 3 tacos for $15 --- I wouldn't get these again, but overall the service and overall experience of take out is solid. ✌ 3,5 / 5 stars this time, usually it's an all around 5/5
I'm perplexed :/ the penne vodka is not a penne vodka at all. Its a spicy sauce that we couldn't eat. Penne Vodka is Penne Vodka. Why can't this be a no brainer??? Chef, hellooooooo?????? The beer selection is really good. Try an Italian Restaurant if you like Penne Vodka. Hellooooo Owners!!!! Hellooooo!!
Apps were good but the mains were mediocre at best and the burgers were severely overpriced with service that left a ton to be desired. 2/2 burgers were overcooked, not to mention every single topping was at least $3.00... yes it cost $3 to add cheese... One burger with 4 toppings was about $30.00. 5/10 overall and would not recommend. Would prefer to give a 2.5 star review but it's not an option. Definitely not rounding up on this one though.
Service was good but the food was TERRIBLE!! wings were not fully cooked through alerted them and they fixed it only for it to come back even worse the wings were mostly flavorless and the Parmesan fries were lackluster and stale.. maybe it was just a bad day won’t return.
I went for the first time for Tuesday trivia at 7:30. It was the sole reason I tried it out. Got there with friends at 7 pm - ordered food and drink. About 7:30 or later, the waiter came around and said the trivia person canceled. No discount/coupon was offered. When we inquired about it - we were told that the manager didn't want to give it. Bars/restauarants do trivia on Mondays and Tuesdays because those are not busy days -- so it stands to reason, that many of us came solely for trivia. It would have been a nice/smart gesture to offer something.
Went tonight to Trivia. The Trivia seemed very “dull” had a pretzel appetizer to start off the cheese sauce tasted like it came out of a can. Seems that the entrees flew out 10 minutes after the appetizer. I had a Buffalo Chicken Wrap, really upset my stomach when I got home, don’t think I will be returning. Seems like the wait staff was all over the place and wasn’t sure what was going on.
This place has gone downhill a lot. It's not terrible, but it's more of a dive pub now. This used to have some of the best food and drink around.
Had not been there post pandemic. New owners in my 2020 and the menu got an overhaul. Limited entres. The attraction we're the burger options and the vive. The truffle fries were also off the menus as. I had the fish tacos which were delicious. However, not worth the 20 minute trip from my home town. So disappointed.
Maybe I had a really bad experience but our waitor was horrible and this place cannot operate well with a crowd. My fish and chips came out mushy and undercooked and it took about an hour to get it. Really disappointed in the waiter though. Completely forgot about us and was nowhere to be found. Empty drinks for at least 20 minutes. We asked him for more drinks and we see him 2 minutes later taking orders from another table. I bet the place isn't too bad when it's not crowded but they screwed us over. Don't order the fish and chips. Great beer selection though.
The food was pricey and bland. This place feels like a old staple in Kentucky that serves old beer and food from a run down kitchen. Definitely don’t recommend
I expect local businesses to support neighborhood schools. Considering I give a lot of business to my local businesses, including this one, I expect that they give back to the community. This place, despite doing extremely well, refuses to give back. A small donation of $25 to a local school to raffle off and raise money for the children is apparently a big deal. Tucked Away, located around the corner, had no problem and was very happy to donate a dinner for two. Because of that you've lost my business and I'll make sure to pass the word as well.
Made the mistake of trying to have dinner there on their trivia night. Surely they could set aside part of the place where you were not bombarded by the quiz master who had the volume up far too loud. You could not even hear yourself thinking. I wish I could have concentrated or enjoyed the beers and burgers. Should have left but now others are warned.
Bartender acted like his knows everything about beer. Good bartenders listen to their customers and make suggestions based on what type of beer the customer likes espically when you don’t have it available. I’ve been drinking craft beer for 30 years probably longer than the bartender has been alive so lose the attitude, and realize we go to place like growlers because we love beer
Takeout was good the 1st time only, had a cheeseburger and fries. The 2nd time not so much. It wad bland and the fries were soggy unlike the 1st time. The buffalp wings were hard. I will not be ordering from here again.
For Christmas, my wife and I got a $25 gift card from a relative to Growler’s. We haven’t been able to get back there. As I went in today, I was informed that the ownership changed, so since the gift card was apparently purchased before the new owners, they wouldn’t accept it. I’m not leaving one star because I couldn’t afford $25, I’m leaving one star because this business couldn’t swallow and honor a $25 gift card from August 2020 which may have gotten a new regular customer. I guess they really needed those fried chicken sandwiches more than I did.
The staff is really attentive and the business has a decent atmosphere. They have about 16 things on tap at any one time. But aside from the service and beer they don't do anything great. They don't have a terrible amount of vegan options and unfortunately one of those options, the onion rings, is so unpalatable that I couldn't finish them. They are just drenched in greasiness and left me sick to my stomach. The salad has way to much vinaigrette on it and the veggie burger patti tastes like nothing and yet is overly seasoned at the same time. The other dish, guac and chips comes with too little guac to chip ratio. While the chips are good they are kinda dry without anything else on them. The crowd here leans on the older side 40s 50s and unfortunately you have to pay for parking and the whole bar shakes when a train goes by In the end I'd recommend going to an alternative bar. Another friend of mine had this to say: "It's just meh. The food- meh... Drinks are nothing fancy and often inconsistent in taste...Beer focused bars are never really clean, I've noticed. There's always a residue of fermentation in the air that never goes away." My summary: way to expensive for mediocre
