If I could, I'd give this small but amazing place 100 stars. We stumbled upon it by chance and decided to go for dinner—it couldn't have been a better choice! The waiters were incredibly kind, the fish was fresh and perfectly prepared, it's one of those places you go when you want to make peace with fish. I highly recommend it to everyone, it's quality at truly competitive prices. Kudos to all the staff and especially the chef!!
Small place in the heart of Naples. Follow Vincenzo's advice. Fried fish, Spaghetti with Cetara anchovy sauce and yellow cherry tomatoes, cod and to finish melon cream, all accompanied by an excellent wine. And then live music (on the street) and a magical atmosphere. The true heart of Naples, true Neapolitan Hospitality (the capital letter is intentional). OK price. The satisfaction is priceless. When I return to Naples, a fixed stop!!!
A small trattoria in Spaccanapoli, serving authentic Neapolitan cuisine. We recommend coming back several times to try the entire menu (especially the Genovese and the pasta with potatoes and provola!) and appreciate the authentic flavors of Neapolitan cuisine. The seating is very comfortable, even though the space isn't very large. The service was excellent, and the entire staff was very welcoming. Highly recommended, excellent value for money!
PHENOMENAL trattoria, masterfully cooked dishes, excellent service, and incredibly friendly staff. The atmosphere is irreverent with the charming signs hanging on the walls. They offer wine while you wait, including an excellent house Falanghina. The fish is fresh, but the first courses, like the pasta and provola, are also excellent. In short, the ultimate trattoria.
Eating in the historic center, with the relaxed welcome typical of Naples, an excellent buffalo mozzarella with raw ham accompanied by classic bruschetta. I didn't try it, but my neighbors' pizza looked truly fantastic, while my partner tried a first course (pasta and potatoes) that she really enjoyed. All this while the atmosphere of the Napoli-Juventus match is in the air, with the staff following the game on their own phones or those of the many customers who are watching. Excellent food, fast service, eating in the streets of the center and breathing in the Naples atmosphere.
It's a small place, but it's worth stopping to eat there. The first courses were delicious and plentiful. We stopped to chat with the chef and staff, who were all very kind and helpful. The 4-star rating for the place is only because it's very small, with only one indoor table. Gabriella and Marco from Senigallia 😋😋
I waited a bit under the front door because it was raining and the place was packed, but it was worth it. First of all, the friendliness of the staff—very nice and kind—and then the good, tasty food. The kitchen is open to you, so you can see how they cook. The prices are reasonable, the portions are generous. I'll definitely be back to try more. I had the pasta with potatoes and provola cheese and the meatballs in tomato sauce. Well done, guys.
The fried meatballs were very good. Pasta with potatoes and provola cheese was very flavorful and tasty. The only thing that caused conflicting opinions between me and my boyfriend was the fried shrimp and calamari, as I prefer slightly "rubbery" calamari, so I thought it was good, while he didn't particularly like it. All in all, a good experience.
I love the aesthetics of this place. The food is authentic and the service is quick. About a year ago, I was walking with a colleague through Naples one evening and saw this place. She wanted to go somewhere fancier. While wandering aimlessly alone, I decided to stop in, and I think I'll be back often. In Naples, there were "numerari," modern calligraphers who specialized in writing price signs for merchants. This place has its menu displayed on the walls with this distinctive feature.
An excellent dinner at Trattoria Don Vincenzo, where we felt completely at home. Exceptional dishes, both the first and second courses. The pasta with shrimp and zucchini was incredible. The mixed grill was also delicious. The signs hanging everywhere were distinctive. The staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.
We came on a Saturday evening without a reservation, and given the crowd, there was a few minutes of waiting, during which we were offered a glass of white wine. Once seated, the service from Federica and Emanuele was excellent and friendly, and the dishes (linguine allo scoglio and grilled fish) were delicious. They also offered dessert and meloncello, given my birthday. You feel right at home; the empathy and kindness make you want to come back to try the rest of the menu.
Excellent trattoria at the beginning of Via San Biagio dei Librai, on the Via Duomo side. Generous portions, perfectly cooked, and the seafood pasta is abundant (not a given), the staff are friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, there are only a few tables, but it's worth the wait. I highly recommend it! And also try pasta with potatoes and provola... unparalleled!! #trattoriacentronapoli #trattoriatipicanapoli #trattoriaeconomianapoli
Trattoria in the heart of Naples Location: Spaccanapoli, in the heart of Naples Features: Open kitchen High-quality products Abundant and well-prepared dishes Fast and attentive service Recommendation: If you're looking for an authentic Neapolitan culinary experience, this trattoria is not to be missed. Try typical dishes such as pasta and beans with mussels, pasta and potatoes, and mixed fried fish. Trattoria in the heart of Naples, precisely in Spaccanapoli. The open kitchen offers excellent products, abundant and well-prepared dishes, and the service is fast and attentive. I recommend going there and trying typical Neapolitan dishes such as pasta with beans and mussels, pasta and potatoes, and a delicious mixed fried fish.
Last night we went to this trattoria and... we were LITERALLY blown away by the service and quality of the food!! The people who welcomed us, Manuele and Federica, were exceptional, their service impeccable!! The food: I had gnocchi that were truly exceptional, truly excellent. It's been a long time since I've had such a good plate of gnocchi!! We tried different dishes and they were all truly special!!! We will definitely be back!!! Don Vincenzo, congratulations on your waiters and the food you make!!!
👍👍👍
Great experience! The polpettes were excellent! And the carbonara, truly authentic Italian 👌🏼
Neat place, with great staff and amazing pasta alla carbonara. Also, you must try the wine they have, it is soo tasty. 🤤
Great food but my friend’s potato pasta was a little too salty. Otherwise great! The staff kindly charged my phone if was a lifesaver!
A special place, everything delicious and the staff very kind. Fresh and super tasty fish
Good place.
Highly recommended. The waitress is very friendly and they provide chairs for you while you wait. The only thing is to arrive early, as many dishes run out.
Nice food, nice services, nice vibes. Bit pricy comoare to other local restaurants, but it's located heart of the sightseeing spot so reasonable for me. Enjoyed food, and the team was friendly.
Correct
It's not a fancy place, but we were glad we stopped by...the food was delicious. I recommend the meatballs, the gnocchi, and the pasta bolognese!
Excellent food, very good value for money
Best dishes in Neapol, you have to stop here 🙂 price is good, food is perfect. English was not problem.
Yummy😍
The staff is incredibly friendly. Even on my own, I was greeted very warmly and was seated despite the tables being full, and the service was prompt and friendly. It's great that people recognize you after the first visit; it's almost like being at your local pub. The food is absolutely fantastic and, in my opinion, very authentic, and really good value for money for a "tourist hotspot" in Naples' old town. Give it a try; it's a really cool, fun trattoria. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Perfect restaurant! We were starving and looking for a place to eat, and stumbled upon this beautiful intimate restaurant. I got the short pasta with potato and bacon - I highly recommend it (see in added pic). I also got the white wine which was perfect and cheap! The service was QUICK and lovely, out waiter was great and made us feel at home. The value for money is spectacular! Definitely eat there if you're around and in Napoli!
Great food and service.
We arrived around 20:30 and it was completely full, luckily we got a seat after a few minutes. The schnitzel was really good, but it was a bit small compared to vienna's original :)). The waiters were also very kind and knew english pretty well. The cover charge was also only 1,50.
Very small trattoria. Excellent value for money. Very friendly staff, quick service
A trattoria with very tasty, traditional dishes, good prices, and very friendly staff. 100% recommended.
Very tasty pasta, perfectly done.
This carbonara was perfect! I highly recommend it. Greetings from Brazil!
The restaurant is located near centro istorico, very easy to find and in the cutest spot. Very Napolitan 😁👌 Although pasta never disappoints in Napoli, this was by far the best pasta carbonara I had! Also, the portion was big. Creamy, jucy and perfectly al dente! I also recommand to try babà cake, it's delicious! And ofcourse - birra grande. I'd be very happy to visit this place again!
Good food, plentiful and reasonably priced. The waitresses are attentive and helpful. The place is small and often busy.
Great welcome, plus they speak French which makes it easier to understand the menu, and the waitress recommended some delicious Neapolitan specialties. Everything is fresh and very very good at a very affordable price considering the quality, so we went back the next day to try other dishes. I recommend this tratoria you will not be disappointed.
A tiny restaurant with outdoor seating. Traditional Neapolitan menu with the addition of daily specials. I chose the paccheri with cod, olives, and capers, which was delicious. The staff was attentive and friendly. Excellent value for money. Recommended, worth a stop.
GREAT SEAFOOD SALADS AND MORETTI BEER. SUPPA COOL Staff
I found this trattoria by chance while strolling through Naples. Excellent food and very friendly staff. Highly recommended.
The food was very delicious 👍🏻
Excellent restaurant, the food is delicious, fresh, and well-prepared. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend it.
The food is excellent and the cooks and waiters are top-notch. A true Neapolitan trattoria.
Nice place with amazing food !
The seafood pasta was cooked perfectly! Bravo!
Real good pasta. Nice patio next to a lively street.
Great experience! Generous, truly tasty dishes, and top-quality ingredients. A seafood lunch that left us satisfied both on the palate and on the wallet. The staff and hostess were truly friendly.
We received excellent service, complimentary water for the summer days in Naples. Recommended! Quality pasta, thanks.
Everything was excellent and the waiter was hilarious. He knows his job. I recommend it.
We ordered fried calamari and seafood pasta, everything was delicious, fresh seafood, flavorful pasta, I would definitely return, this place is a hidden gem.
Unassuming, plastic chairs , great value , great food. The flavour of the seafood salt fish special was spot on
Delicious
Excellent first lunch in Naples. Excellent value. The appetizer was mozzarella and mixed vegetables, followed by paccheri with cod, olives, and capers. Having come to Genoa, I wasn't expecting the cover charge to be only €1 and the water to be free. Fantastic experience.
You will not be disappointed, most deliciously pasta I had in Naples! Don’t hesitate to ask to Alexa to stop the timer and to play a song for you.
Very good carbonara
A nice trattoria where you can eat deliciously. Popular with locals. We came here by chance, to rest a bit after a walking tour. The pizza is delicious and filling
The gnocchi were delicious! Affordable, reasonable prices.
This was the best dinner we had in Naples by far! Our server was very attentive and very nice. The bruschetta was the best bruschetta I've ever had in my life. They have options for vegetarians which is hard to find in Naples. The outdoor seating was beautiful for the night because the weather was perfect.
Absolutely amazing.
The wait is definitely worth it; the chef personally serves his guests, asking each guest if everything is okay, and while you wait, you're given a seat and something to drink. The food is delicious, and the house wine is inexpensive (but delicious) for €5 for a 0.5-liter carafe. We are thrilled and recommend the food. Excellent food
A super-nice place with spectacular food. The restaurant and terrace are a bit small.
We ate there twice in a short visit and would have been three times had the queue not been so long. The pasta was cooked perfect one occasion a simple bolgnase dish another sea food with clams, muscles and prawns and I must say it was as good as anywhere I have eaten similar dishes before.
A quaint place to take those visiting Naples, good food and reasonable prices.
Excellent everything!!!! The greatest food !!!!
Wonderful Staff, good atmosphere and fair value for money. We enyoed our food here with a litre of very affordable white house wine. Would totally recommend.
Best carbo pasta of my life and super friendly boss!
In a small piazza on the border between Spaccanapoli and Forcella, a small kitchen that turns out great dishes. Excellent seafood, any way you choose: we had the octopus appetizer, followed by seafood risotto and grilled fish. The wine, unfortunately, was poor, but the waitress's hospitality and the deliciousness of the dishes served make you forget even a couple of glasses of white. Generous portions (share the appetizer). Attached are two photos that I think speak for themselves, but a few words were needed to describe the wonderful evening we had. 🐙🐙
After touring the Naples National Museum, you'll probably want to eat some delicious Neapolitan food nearby. I told you, this is the place to come (semi-angry). The area around Napoli Piazza Station is a restaurant district, and while the food is generally delicious and of high quality, this is my personal favorite. This restaurant specializes in seafood-flavored dishes, and their risotto and pasta are both delicious. I recommend the risotto. For 22€, you'll get a risotto (for two) that's reminiscent of Urashima Taro, with shrimp, mussels, and clams dancing like crazy. Please note that they don't offer single-serving options. I ate a two-serving portion by myself, and the waiter laughed at me. The waiter speaks fluent English, which is a nice touch. The wife of the souvenir shop owner across the street keeps staring at me, but it's not immediately harmful to the human body, so it's fine.
We had first our first Naples dinner here, and it was divine. Gnocchi are worth dying for! 😍 Highly recommended!
Great service, great atmosphere, good music. But all this is worth nothing without great food. Well, that's what you get here. Highly recommended!
I had pasta here. It was incredibly delicious. It was chewy and had a strong basil flavor. I'd love to go there again when I visit Naples.
This trattoria is simple but wonderful in every way! The food is very good and cheap, the chefs and waiters are very professional and friendly. We had a few wines with clients we met there and had a great time that afternoon. They left us alone on the covered terrace sipping wine. The people at Trattoria Don Vincenzo are very nice. We will return. I recommend it 100%.
I had the pleasure of eating in this authentic little place run by a super team of young cooks. The food was not fancy but sticks to how Italians like to eat, not tourists. The kitchen was full of life and invited me to watch as they made the magic happen. Unforgettable experience.
Great option for eating in Naples, good and cheap, I ordered pasta with mussels, octopus and prawns and it was delicious
Food was amazing
A lovely little restaurant, lively in the evening. A short wait was made up for by a complimentary glass of wine. The menu is simple: a good sign. Bruschetta to start, and a very good burrata with crisp vegetables. Then, the authentic carbonara pasta, which is definitely a winner.
Number one. Vincenzo is a guarantee. Fresh, delicious food. A true Neapolitan experience.
Tasty risotto!
Very good prices. Good wine and food at a good price. Friendly staff. Fresh sea food.
Small place with few tables, but with very good food and service.
Located in the heart of Naples on Via San Buagio dei Librai... this place isn't particularly inspiring at first, it feels more like a bar or a takeaway chip shop... small bar tables, overly colorful signs don't give a clear idea of what's on offer. The food isn't bad, though; the dishes are well-cooked, and the portions aren't small... and the final surprise: THEY ACCEPT DEBIT PAYMENT!! They get an 8 for that alone 😁 The typical seafood pasta and potato dish is very good.
Consigliato
If I give the food five stars, unfortunately, the service and ambiance detract from it. The Don Vincenzo fresh pasta is truly excellent, flavorful, and if you love the taste of shrimp, you have to try it. The fish is fresh. The waiter was courteous and always available to answer our questions. Unfortunately, the service is very slow; there's only one person to manage the tables and cash register. Our table was set up on the spot under the balconies of a building. I would definitely return.
Excellent grill
Trattoria della tradizione napoletana. Very well known and respected local restaurant where you can find key Napoli dishes both from pasta and main course perspective. Advance booking is suggested since space is limited. Pasta patate and provola is a must try. The staff always welcomes you with a smile and ready to serve.
The food is very good, in large portions. The service is friendly, although you have to go up and ask for it yourself to pay – I could just sit there and sit. The carbonara is very tasty, the bolognese not so much. Overall, I recommend coming; you'll definitely be full.
The food is very good, especially the mozzarella with grilled vegetables as a starter, but the service is very, very slow. We waited over an hour for two pasta dishes.
It was good, the portions quite large. The prices were a bit higher than at other restaurants. I don't know if I'd go back, though.
While strolling through the historic center of Naples, we were placed on the waiting list for a meal. The wait was relatively short. Then, it was time for the à la carte menu and the dishes. Delicious, and plentiful, too. The wine selection is extensive, as is everything else. Except for the desserts, which are only two. I highly recommend it!
Tasty dishes and kind, friendly service! We really loved the setting - captured Naples perfectly. We tried the seafood pasta with potatoes, which was interesting, but at times a bit overwhelming in flavour and very heavy. Bruschetta was tasty, but not exceptional. Overall a very nice experience, but not really mindblowing. Wine was tasty and easy to drink for a great price - definitely a plus.
Twice in three days...it's great, the seafood pasta the first time, I went back to share some sort of tapas (bruchette, calamari, sardines, prawns, vegetables....) It was still great. And Vincenzo always very business-minded and friendly
Even though I thought the service was slow, I definitely had some of best pasta here that I had in Naples.
Excellent trattoria, authentic, cooked with passion, very fair prices, recommended!
Excellent place to eat typical local dishes, with excellent service from the staff. Colorful, centrally located... Gothic streets. It's a little hidden gem. I would point out that the risotto was a bit oversalted... But for the excellent service and quality, I give it 4 stars. Average price-quality ratio for the area. The food is very comfortable, and I congratulate the chefs for their excellent work.
Seated quickly, service was thorough, but seemed a bit rushed. Food was good, carbonara was solid but the pasta was overcooked. Very cute little place, decently priced.
Very good experience with a bit of a wait but it's worth it, the atmosphere is excellent and the food too!
Everything was very good! Nice place and friendly staff. Recommended!
Nice little local seafood place! Seafood risotto is quite nice. I really liked the mozzarella salad with grilled veges! Some grilled things are over cooked, eg grilled octopus, and shrimps. The shrimps are so burnt, my hands & shrimps got full of char coal while peeling them, totally ruined everything. There might be a line, so be prepared.
Very well-kept location and nice exterior! Helpful staff. Average prices. I tried a delicious fresh fish first course! Highly recommended.
A small, very popular neighborhood trattoria. The mozzarella and grilled vegetables are delicious. We tried the fried fish and seafood and thoroughly enjoyed them. It was the first time we'd ever been served a carafe of water. The local white wine by the pitcher is very good. A major drawback: the toilets are truly disgusting.
Service was excellent, but food not very tasty
We found this place by chance while strolling through Spaccanapoli. It's a traditional trattoria with set menu items and daily specials, both fish and meat. The produce is fresh and carefully prepared. The food is plentiful. We ordered a pasta dish each (I recommend the fresh pasta with shrimp) and a main course (Polpette) to share, and we were both stuffed. The staff is attentive and friendly. I recommend it if you want a break from pizza in Naples. Excellent value for money.
Very basic restaurant with delicious home cooked food. The table wine was quite pricy (€14 for half a litre)
We had two different types of pasta, and neither disappointed. The carbonara was exquisite. The house wine wasn't the best, but the food more than made up for it.
Very friendly staff and good food. We especially enjoyed the mixed fried seafood platter. Only thing to caution is that it’s almost all outdoor seating where there are smokers, so if you’re really bothered by it then there’s only one table that’s semi indoors that is next to the kitchen.
We tasted seafood risotto and house wine. The risotto was delicious, and the wine was straightforward.
Missing home and was after something similar to a Chicken Parma - Chicken Coteletta was yum. Thankyou
A good Neapolitan trattoria... It's located in Spaccanapoli... I recommend it as a stop for a stroll through the historic center. Prices aren't exactly trattoria-like... 1 appetizer, 2 first courses, 1 second course, and 1 side dish: €60. But all in all, everything was good and the portions were decent. Thumbs up.
Octopus salad - amazing Spaghetti alla carbonara - okay at best Fritto misto - very uneven: sardines great, calamari very rubbery; shrimp: good, nothing more; cod - great Zeppoline - delicious So-so place
The food was very good, although the prices were a little more expensive than other places. The waiters were very kind and friendly, but the food took a long time to come out.
Disappointed... We arrived at 7:45 pm (on a Sunday), and we had to ask for the menu. Our order was placed at 8 pm and served at 8:36 pm (and even then, it was worse for other tables). The pasta carbonara is good, but the spaghetti wasn't cooked enough, and some pieces of guanciale were charred... Price of pasta carbonara: €13 Price of cutlery: €1.50
The reviews are too high in my opinion. Good food, small portions, and high prices. It's a restaurant, not a trattoria. Also, the space between tables is very small.
Good portion but higher in prices for à parmigiana di melanzane. It has a intense but good flavor.
A Trattoria That Believes Itself to be a Restaurant. There are many positive things about this place such as: Good food, Very Fast and Efficient Service, Moderate prices. But also many negative aspects. Among which We are told that the trattoria dishes are abundant but everything is outside of abundant in fact they almost seem like dishes from modern restaurants rather than trattorias. We are offered to wait to sit down but in exchange they will offer us white wine (which they then put on the bill). We can also say that the only things that this place has as a trattoria is the Very Rustic environment with wooden tables, a cash register on a counter where they prepare take-away, which is in the same room where the kitchen is also. And the very limited menu of courses especially for the second courses. If they kept only one line to follow (Trattoria or modern restaurant) they would certainly have much more success and 5 stars assured
Yesterday we visited a restaurant. We didn't have to wait in line, even though this trattoria is usually always busy. I ordered pasta with beans and mussels, but unfortunately, it was completely tasteless, saltless, and devoid of any seafood or bean flavor. My friends had pasta with shrimp and clams, which also lacked flavor and was not salty. The prices are generally acceptable, between 10 and 16 euros for a plate of pasta, but I definitely won't go back and I don't recommend it to anyone. The staff was courteous, however. Yesterday we visited this restaurant. We didn't have to wait in line, even though this trattoria is usually always busy. I ordered pasta with beans and mussels, but unfortunately, it was completely tasteless, unsalted, and lacked any seafood or bean flavor. The gnocchi was so-so. The linguine and seafood from the salt farm weren't fresh.
While the food was tasty, the two stars are due to the overall experience. Once we were seated, when we went to order, they insisted we order at least one appetizer, even though we only wanted one main course per person. The excuse was that the kitchen was small and busy, so they couldn't prepare our main courses until everyone else was ready. So, we ordered a shared appetizer that took quite a while to arrive, but the main course took almost an hour!
Meh. We were drawn by the glowing reviews but the food turned out to be just above edible. The octopus salad had lots of Octopus in it, but was a touch tough. The grilled seafood platter wasn't much better. There was a nice char on the seafood but the squid was a little over, as was the octopus, and the prawns. While the flavour was all right, the shell didn't come off easily which indicates that they too were a touch over. And the 'veins' were still intact. Removing them was a job. The prawns had clearly eaten well before they died so there was a fair bit of 'substance' in them. The prices were okay but for a bit more, we could have eaten much better.
Disappointed. Comments and photos were so good, so we gave it a try but taste wasn't good. Can not recommend
We arrived by chance for dinner, the attention of one of the waiters was terrible, it made you want to get up and leave, I ordered a pasta with seafood, I think they had 5 mussels and no more and it was inedibly spicy, and a plate of Sorrento gnocchi that had nothing special, the prices...well for the quality of what was served I would say that it was quite expensive and on top of that when they bring us the bill and we turn it off they don't give the change and they were missing €0.50 we told him and he said he didn't understand, let's say he kept the tip, he didn't deserve a shame, I know how the owners of this place don't read the comments of people who complain about people who manage their business badly.
Favourite things here were the fried anchovies and the octopus salad. The fried anchovies were perfectly crispy with tender, succulent flesh inside. Octopus salad was fresh and the octopus went great with the lemon and olive oil. The pastas were disappointing. Found the Vongole a little too starchy for my liking. The worst by far was the Seafood Potato pasta. Do NOT order this. The first bite hit like a salt bomb, and it just got saltier from there. Way, way too heavy on the salt. Would only come for the appetisers.
I had high hopes for Don Vincenzo, but unfortunately, I experienced what other negative reviewers have also described. As soon as you sit down, the pressure starts to fill up. Water is placed on the table and the menus are handed out. Then the waiter disappears briefly and returns with bread. The menu is very clear and consists of two pages: one for the dishes and the other for the drinks. While the house wine looks very reasonable, this is different for the pasta dishes. Unfortunately, Don Vincenzo wasn't able to make me fresh pasta instead of the linguine. The linguine allo scoglio was nothing special. The mussels lacked flavor, and the scampi were poorly deveined. For our second course, we had the Grilled Seafood Platter. The waiter specifically asked me if we wanted that after the pasta, which we agreed to. My girlfriend still had half her plate full and I had my fork to my mouth when the platter was already crammed in from the side. The squid was grilled superbly. However, the shrimp were all blackened on the underside, making them very difficult to peel. They weren't deveined. The two octopus arms were okay, but they also got too hot. The final bill was €60, which is too much compared to other restaurants.
The staff was a little tired, but that's ok, given that they are in the center of Napoli. The risotto does not justify the price at all. I live by the sea, so I know how shellfish are prepared. The shrimp were overcooked, as were the mussels. The rice was al dente, which is great, but the risotto itself is very dry. I certainly wish you continued good business 😉🙃Maybe I just expected more considering the reviews.
