This is a very good location, extremely busy shopping area, right on the 3rd St Promenade. Great for in and out quick trips. However, it has outdoor seating, great for watching the world go by. Great for people watching also. Don’t sit by the door unless you wanna be bothered every single second by crowds in and out! Not a cozy place, though, more of a train station feel and look - grab smthg and go. If you want a moment to chill, sit outside, if the weather is good! Inside there is no chilaxing and hanging around, it’s a revolving door of people.

Went there on a February Sunday night and the store was very busy with a long line of customers. I ordered with the App and received my order in a reasonable time. I thought the staff did great under the circumstances and kept the order fulfillment moving.

Consistency is the key to starbucks I can always count on a great tasting cup of coffee not coffee drink at any one of the many locations. They also keep coming up of new seasonal drinks n blends to keep u coming back for something new . It's by far ahead of other coffee places .

Fast service, friendly. Not lots of plugs but enough. It wasn't over-crowded (here on a Tues at 11am-12:30PM). Tourists come and go so plenty of ppl watching if you're into that kind of thing. Had a hot chocolate, it was hot and chocolate.

I loved the atmosphere, the workers there are very professional I would always come in the mornings and even though I still live far this is the only place I visit they make everything on point .

VERY WELCOMING!! I get very anxious when I go to a new store and this place was no exception. However, the barista with curly black hair was so lovely and made me feel so comfortable there! There was a mistake in my order but she fixed it up for me! Very professional and sweet!

A busy but nice location to enjoy my green tea after walking 15 miles. The baristas here are all nice. It was packed today so I didn't notice if there were outlets for your electronic devices. The store was clean and I got my drink quickly.

Starbucks hot chocolate coffee is very very tasty and I love to drink the same any number of times.

This place is constantly packed with people, to the point the staff are always moving about and doing something. Comparing to the other store that is in the shopping centre this place is a whole lot quicker despite both places having the same amount of staff but this store being a whole lot more busy. There was one lady that was handing out the drinks that was really polite and well mannered. I sat there watching her serve everyone and asking how their day was, and asking different people different questions. My only issue is with the people BUYING the drinks. Why are people complaining about their drinks being made slowly only after 5 minutes. The world doesn’t revolve around you, HAVE SOME PATIENTS!

I Um, okay here's the truth I have never ordered from Starbucks before. And if I'm to be honest I was full of trepidation, fearing I would embarrass myself or worse by ridiculed. However the person who served me was very nice, and even got my name right despite a thicc Aussie accent. She explained to me the sizes, and for that I'm eternally grateful. If she is ever in Sydney, she will have a friend she can depend on. I'm not sure how to finish off this review, but unexpectedly.

I've got to say, the screen showing the order queue is a total game-changer. No more awkwardly waving at the barista—I can just see exactly what's happening! Now, if only every Starbucks could get this magical screen, we’d be living in a coffee utopia.

Starbucks on 3rd Street Promenade is a super cozy stop right in the middle of everything. The team is consistently friendly and welcoming, and the service is quick even when it’s busy. Great place to grab a coffee or matcha, reset for a bit, and enjoy the Promenade vibe.

Oh, absolutely, because nothing says “birthday celebration” quite like a caramel Frappuccino at the Starbucks on third street. What a way to ring in another year, right? It’s almost like they knew exactly how to make my day special with that overly-sweet, caramel-drenched concoction that probably shaved off a few days from my lifespan. The whipped cream on top? Inspired choice. Just enough to give me a sugar rush so I can really enjoy my time strolling around Santa Monica in the heat. And the service? Top-notch, as always—exactly what you’d expect from the world’s most ubiquitous coffee chain. Just a heartfelt thanks to Starbucks for making this birthday unforgettable.

Great location. Hop, skip, and a jump from the beach. It wasn't crowded and the baristas are very pleasant. I ordered a Matcha iced latte and a hot toffee nut latte. They took a bit longer with the hot drink, but it was very tasty.

Ok starbucks is awesome, famous and everything, but I'm not sure about the service... Sometimes I have to wait a lot for my $4.50 beverage even if it's an Americano. I love this coffee but sometimes is too crowded to enjoy the experience.

The people at this Starbucks were so friendly I felt moved to write a good review! Visited Santa Monica and stopped by here and had such a positive experience with the employees I came back the next day and it's like we became buddies in such a short time. I do wish there were outlets for charging phones/laptops/my GoPro but the service and friendliness were memorable. Thanks Starbucks friends!

j

Extremely crowded specially on weekends so expect 10 minutes minimum wait time in a long line and another 10 or more to get your order made, no room to sit, six people working behind the counter can’t keep up, also expect quality of drinks to be subpar!

Inside the4rd st. Walking promenade. This Starbucks caters to 2 kinds of crowds: the shoppers during the day, and the strollers in the evening. It’s so popular with the people from the Arabian Gulf.

Chose the peppermint frappe because I wanted one of the holiday flavours. This comes with a tonne of whipped cream on top so in future I would probably request without. A tasty option if you aren’t a coffee fan like myself

This Starbucks is always busy, but the staff is friendly and hardworking. I also appreciate that they turn the drinks so you can actually read the label, maybe it’s a new company policy, but it’s something most Starbucks never did. The location is great, and they have their furniture back. My only complaints are that the wait can be long because of how busy it gets, and my usual drink costs about 50 cents more here than at other locations.

Beautiful Starbucks. Well located on 3rd Street Promenade, I just thought pretty strange that they don’t have any tables inside, today was very wind and I would love to sit inside drinking my coffee. It is a huge place with a lot of empty space inside. The service went fast and they were nice.

Bryan was Very nice, good customer service. There was another guy there he was RUDE. I purchased a Cup/Tumbler took FOREVER to help me and he gave me a UGLY attitude. But Bryan who was Very Patient and NICE took my order & made our Drinks VERY GOOD! Thanks Bryan.

Too busy! The employees were completely unable to keep up with the rush, and were a bit rude when I asked about my drink (which I had ordered 20 minutes prior). No, it's not their fault that they were overloaded, but I don't think I was being unreasonable?

M

Starting to lose faith in this Starbucks. This is a very busy Starbucks, so the occasional mix up is understandable. 3 incorrect drink orders in a row though? Start watering down the price before watering down the service please.

This place is usually crowded meaning service is slow. Bathroom is always a mess. Tables aren't clean. Coffee and food aren't good. Don't blame the homeless people here.Customers are nothing to write about and some staff are not professionally motivated. Too bad because location is good.

L
Larissa M

3 stars for just being your average Starbucks standard store. There is no bathrooms in this location and absolutely zero seating inside or outside. I can understand if they do not want indoor dining because of Covid, but they should have a few tables outdoors. The staff was friendly and the location was clean from what I could see of it. This os the smallest Starbucks I've seen so I can't compare it to much.

A small cappuccino with 100 ml coffee and a lot of air for 6 Dollar 😱 And it was tooo hot. I have been in a lot of Starbucks in the US, Mexico, Germany and Vietnam. But this was a mess…

The coffee and food offerings are good as in any Starbucks coffee shop. The atmosphere is nice because of the location however this particular place doesn't have sit down tables and the limited counter space is not very appealing. Grab your cup of coffee for take out and enjoy a stroll through the Promenade.

Starbucks Starbucks Starbucks....why has this place gone down in quality. Who ever manages the place for one needs to install more power surges. I for one needed to charge my phone and there were no power surges. Also the one that I did find didn't work. The CEO of Starbucks needs to revamp this place. Also there ARE too many homeless people hanging around there. I want to go to a place, have a coffee and be able to charge my phone in peace. This place has become pathetic.

K
Keilani Chang

Everytime I go to this Starbucks parts of or my whole order is wrong and the coffee is burnt. Every single time. I would go to another Starbucks but this location is right next to where I work so its convenient. However, today they got it wrong yet again. As the staff is friendly, it's quite aggrivating to never get my correct order. I'll be taking my business elsewhere from now on.

I usually order & love Starbucks iced green tea latte. I understand the timeand day is usually busy, but it was no reason for my drink to be made with no love. It was literally all milk in ice & a dash of green tea matcha ! I also waited & expecting for it to come as ordered. I was disappointed, I should’ve said something but I just walked out.

N
Nick J

I’m always looking for a coffee shop open late. These guys are supposed to be but they start closing over an hour early and basically pushing everyone out the door. All the chairs are up by 11:30 and you’ll get a dirty look of you try and come in after 11.

T
Tez Bird

It’s sad, the customer service is lacking at this location. It does not feel like any other Starbucks I visited. It definitely does not compare to the Wilshire union location in mid Wilshire. Jenny (I think that’s her name with the red hair and all the accessories on her apron) never ever say thank you, or you welcome. The last 3x I came to this location she has not said anything back to smile or greet. This last time she made a smart remark in regards to my drink and I do not appreciate it and on top of that, she don’t even make good drinks. The next time I walk in and she’s there, I’m just going to walk out. This is not what I’m accustomed with.

This place is/was great. The drinks, food and service are still top notch BUT, as is typical these days they've made changes that lower the experience.1) To wit; there are no longer any electrical plugs 2) they've taken away a lot of seating. There is an area to the left when you come in that could easily accommodate four tables. They were there once but some "manager " decided to create consumer angst by minimalist seating. 3) to compensate for that they crank the music (abusic) up loud enough to blow out your eardrums and prevent any meaningful conversation. 4) on the outside they've removed the sun umbrellas so plan on getting skin cancer if you want to sit outside for more than five minutes-way to go Starbucks-take our money and risk our health.5) with the volume of people coming here there is always a HUGE line for the bathroom. So when your coffee or tea "hits" your bladder you better have a plan B or you s--- out of luck-pun intended. They had two bathrooms here but again management decided to create more consumer angst By restricting access 6) some company built a high wall outside next door so the once wonderful people watching view is now restricted. You can do better Starbucks!!!

J
Jon Langbert

All I ordered was a decaf drip coffee, and it came out tepid. I mean, really, if you can’t serve the coffee hot, and you’re a coffee shop, what’s the purpose? And there’s no furniture inside the store, despite there being room for it. I think it’s because they have such a huge homeless problem. I got asked for coffee and money on the way into the store. Definitely not going back.

R
Ruslan SHNEYDER

I'm giving two stars cause the staff looked young and unexperienced therefore I cannot blame them completely. This one towards management. Ordered two double shot americano coffees with cream. Bot only did I not get cream on either the coffee that I got was a "25 dollar coffee machine" watered down water. It was so bad I had to come back for the first time i ever had to come ba k to a Starbucks. Asked for new cups, the obliged and what I got back was the same level watered down absurdity that I got the first time. Worst starbucks experience.

I like this place but today I was very disappointed, the waitress made me waiting longer because they were talking about something else with the client. In specific about their instagram .Right away I told her that I was on hurry, the client said( I’m sorry) and she replied ( you’re good

I was very offended about the fact that my step-dad wasn't allowed to use the toilet. He was first given the password and realized there was no toiletpaper. When he asked for some, the toilet was suddenly "closed" due to cleaning. They gave no good explanation whatsoever for the sudden closure, we were given no toiletpaper but we could talk to the manager if we wanted to. We had already paid for our coffee and a cookie. We won't be coming back there again. Amateurs.

J
Joanna Smith

Worst service ever, I was waiting in line and it was my turn to order when the associate told me to go to next person who will take my order, he was so clueless. I was already upset by the person taking my order not paying attention to what I was ordering because he was too busy asking questions to his colleague. My two lattes were done incorrectly, the cream melted inside the coffee because they had it sitting on the side lines way back from five orders ahead of mine. They were not even calling people to get their drinks, it was disorganized, that I will not stop by again. I paid too much for bad coffee service.

W
Waguih Guindy

The worst Starbucks I have ever been. I was at the store at 10:45 pm; one of the staff was cleaning the restrooms. She put a sign restroom closed. They didn't want any one to use the restrooms as they need to keep them clean for the next day. They are sending all customers to a public restroom at 3rd Street Promenade, Santa Monica. Really very lazy staff. I am guessing what their manager will be !!!!!

C
Cecilia de Freitas

Coffee stop during shopping seems like a great idea... until you stand in a queue that moves so slow due to only one person on the tills. Once you get to the front you are asked to wait by an "off duty" employee that was ringing up her own purchases. To top it all off, they get the order incorrect! Not worth the wait or price just for a brand named coffee.

s
shan desan

Terrible service. Two of our drinks were ready in a timely manner but two were forgotten so after 20 min of waiting for them and then asking about them, they made them, using the dairy container when they were supposed to be nondairy and they we’re terrible and had to be thrown away-one had no flavor and the other had an awful flavor. We were in a rush to see a movie so we didn’t have time to ask for them to be made again. Will never go back!

M
Maddy

The most disgusting and the dirtiest restroom for a place which served drinks and food. Discussed it with the store manager, he agreed and told me go ahead and post it. The fact these guys are so busy, doesn’t mean they can compromise public safety. I hope someone from the corporation office reads these comments.

A
Alex Yu

Every Starbucks store without outlets deserves a one-star rating. This is a store that actually still had working outlets as recently as July. The employees went above and beyond to help, but there was little that they could do. Listen up, management. People actually come to Starbucks to not only drink coffee, but also work on their computers and charge their phones. Pathetic. I'm never coming back again.

h
hugo alvarez

Great to be back in the States unfortunately same as in London, Los Angeles, west Hollywood and others cities. Starbucks doesn't provide a restroom for customer to wash our hands before we eat their food. Deleting the app 😂

C
Chloe Keedy

I come here pretty often, but I doubt I will return after today. I got my drink quickly, waited 10 minutes for a sandwich order, had to ask about it (the girl serving was incredibly rude and seemed put out by my asking) and lo and behold they HAD forgotten and just then put it in the oven. When it finally came out she put it underneath whatever drink she was serving and dripped sink water all over it! She then handed me the wet bag and was surprised when I asked for a fresh bag. I should have asked for a whole new sandwich but they had already taken over half of my lunch break. The girl serving was INCREDIBLY rude and obviously does not understand the concept of sanitary food handling. I wish I had got her name (and I NEVER do that sort of thing) but she was serving Thursday 12/10 at 12:15

S
Steph H

Racist because I look white but I’m actually Mexican. Mexican girl would only give tall water to me but gave two grande waters to other Latinos. Made my coffee wrong on top of it all. Rude as I have found in ALL of LA. I have spent a fortune at starbucks and hardly asked for anything extra. I had to walk 10 min then get treated like I’m racist-when my father is Mexican. Stop judging a book by its cover as I probably speak better Spanish than you. LA is by far the worst city in America -rude and mean. This is the second starbucks where a Mexican girl has assumed I am white -I am very polite. Do I need to start speaking Spanish so I can be treated as other Latinos? No problem. Starbucks-you really need to take a look at LA-you have a racist issue. I do not see these issues in Florida or Texas-being judged bc my skin is white when I’m actually not white.

I'm a huge fan of Starbucks and a loyal customer, but this location is run horribly. The dining area is not kept clean, and the condiment station (milk, sugar, napkings) is a mess with empty milk containers and spills. Even the pickup counter is a sticky mess, which the staff can easily see and should be cleaning from behind the counter. And worst of all, the staff here can't even make coffee right! I ordered a Venti Pike Place coffee, and when I took my first drink, I got a mouthful of coffe grounds. I went to the pickup area to get a new coffee, but the baristas would not even make eye contact or acknowledge I was standing there. So I went back to the line, and told the girl at the register. Her reaction was like she'd never heard of coffee grounds, and had no idea where they could have possibly come from. She then asked her co-worker how coffee grounds could get into a cup, so he pulled out the cofee ground holder from the brewer, and with a look of disgust asked her "who made this?" Apparently someone forget to put in a filter! Rather than dumping out that batch of coffee and brewing one, the girl at the register grabbed a clean cup, and poured me a new cup of coffee from the same batch that was filled with grounds! Note to manager: Please make sure your staff knows how to make your primary product. Considering how busy this Starbucks location is with shoppers & tourists, they should have one team member dedicated to keeping the customer area clean. For many international tourists, this is the fist impression they get of Starbucks in Los Angeles. Also, why is this Starbucks location so small?! You can barely get to the ordering counter because you have to weave through tables, customers at the pickup counter, people putting cream/sugar in their coffee, and point-of-purchase displays! The design is horrible for customer-flow, and for a flagship location like this, Starbucks should have a retail space that's at least twice this size.

L
Li Roiter

dowm to zero stars . on behalf of my dearest friend. who is manager Ana? or whatver her name is. what a joke on starbucks to hire such people to make them "managers ". Oh and they back to their old habits to close before closing time. Like an hour or 2. Morning shift couple of hard working american kids do the job and the "managerial " oriented "personal l " casually flirts with the(seemingly ) wealthy men , dishes the ladies, unless spanish speaking and pretty much one can tell, that they surely are a very poor ambassadors for strabucks, as a whole. This store shouldn't be called Starbucks. It should be called Mexico GHETTO rules, or get out

R
Romeo Valentino

Come on now is there coffee really worth the price they’re selling it for? Why support the huge corporation at those ridiculous prices. Please go to a locally owned coffee shop he will get better service a better product and feel better about yourself too. These guys do nothing for the community.

J

Rude. I can't stand the attitude of the Baristas at this starbucks and that includes the management. Ridiculous attitudes and obscenely sardonic responses to every question or statement give this place one star. If I could vote lower, I would. They also don't control the "population" sitting outside or at the few indoor tables leaving those of us wanting to grab a seat for a bit, out of luck. All around, avoid this location. As for the people saying they never get their order wrong, well: out of 6 visits, mine has been correct once... it was a grande Pike Place. Choose another location.

B
Birendra Ilukkumbure

The rudest and worst staff ever, I go there everyday to grab my cofee before work, mostly go for a brewed cofee with milk, I always tell them not to fill up the cup too much as they fill it up to the rim of the cup without leaving room at all, I grabbed the cofee it was so full to the point the cofee was pouring through the lid, and I immediately burnt my hand with hot cofee, I asked the staff to reduce the cofee a little bit and for something cold to pour on my burnt hand, the staff made a face and said I can give you a bigger cup and asked me to grab dry tissues from the counter, and I pointed out to her that my hand is burning and she said ‘ I believe ya’ and turned her back and walked away, never stepping in there again. And this was not the first instance mostly the time I go the places isn’t so crowded and they come to take the order after finishing up their small talks, ridiculous behavior

S
Stuart Ward

Very unfriendly day place in a very unfriendly area. They took all chairs away, along with creamer, sweetness, stirrer, napkins. Purgatory ( at best) for hot coffee drinkers. They only cater to take-away, sugary junk drinks. If you want a real coffee shop; go to Peets or Coffee Bean. Starbucks lost it during the Covid masked era. Wake up Starbucks, and smell the coffee. Zero stars.

E
Enoch G

This location exhibits significant management deficiencies, consistently experiencing supply shortages. Furthermore, my recent chai latte purchases have been of unacceptable quality, tasting spoiled. This issue appears unique to this specific Promenade Third Street location. After experiencing gastrointestinal distress, I contacted management, requesting an investigation. Their dismissive response, promising to "look into it," was never followed up. I strongly suspect the reuse of outdated chai supplies to minimize costs, accounting for the spoiled taste. Customer caution is advised. Definitely will not be returning to this location.

V
Velma Sykes

I experienced the worst customer service I have ever had at this store today. A Barista named Katt was so rude to me for asking about my pastry which I had been waiting on for awhile. I ordered it with my drink. I was told about the amount of mobile orders that they had to fill and all the people they have to wait on besides me. I just wanted to know where the rest of my order was so that I could get to work. I have never been spoken to in that manner for asking a question about my order. Bad business!!

Absolutely the rudest Starbucks I've been to. I've been here over 25 times and they still manage to be rude to me. Today "kat" told me I couldn't be served because I was harassing her workers. I didn't know it was possible to harass someone with your eyes. I really hope this Starbucks changes the way they treat people.

Starbucks in a swanky outdoor shopping area. I was a tourist, on foot, wanted a break. There are nooo seats, not even a bench to sit while waiting for your order. Certainly no tables. Restroom? Nope. Big empty space where seating once was. I paid $3.45 for a plastic cup full of ice and a meager amount of Americano coffee. I pay for the ambiance, for comfort, a place to rest weary feet, use a restroom, maybe, briefly, internet service. Starbucks doesn't want to attract homeless people. Okay, then require patrons to order before sitting down, have a 30 minute rule, code for restroom, and if you have to hire security, so be it. Businesses are allowed to prohibit loitering. If customers could sit, I think they'd be more inclined to order food, and frequent the restaurant more often. The additional revenue would help offset costs if contract for a security officer.

. The employees behaved disrespectfully, claiming they could set their own rules at work. They didn’t make an effort to help in a decent manner; instead, they started laughing and speaking in their own language among themselves. I hope there are consequences for this disrespectful behavior. Their name is Marianna and Kat.

Bad Starbucks in awful Starbucks district. Employees are hateful, not towards non-whites as said in previous review, but against anyone not appearing to make $100,000 a year or more. All employees are not white, their hate isn't racist, it's classist. There are no outlets and they show up to open whenever they want. Today they are over 30 minutes late so far, still not open. Despite all of that, it's still a homeless shelter in the morning, including shopping cart parking in front. All Starbucks in area take the worst aspects of authoritarianism, and then give zero cares about things like service and atmosphere. The only thing keeping this store open is the Starbucks name and location. Otherwise it's among the worst Starbucks on west coast. That applies to all district stores. Once you get into LA proper they start acting like, and treating you like, humans.

The staff has no idea what drinks are vegan or gluten-free and wouldn't try and figure it out. I ended up with a tea lemonade and it ended up in the trash. I love tea lemonade but this did not taste good. Staff weren't helpful and seemed rushed to get people out instead of trying to make sure they had a good experience.

2 experiences negatively influence this review. one employee with a smart mouth telling a person to "shut up" and smart mouthed ab0out having to clean up a mess and blaming an individual who didnt make the mess? if this is the environment Starbucks wishes to cultivate in their store? well they should either close shop or fire said employee...

DON’T GO TO THIS STARBUCKS!!! I normally wouldn’t write a review for a Starbucks, because well, it’s Starbucks, but this one was so God awful that I felt I had to post a warning. The staff here are incredibly unorganized and terrible at making drinks, it’s almost as if the baristas here have not received any training at all. Completely inadequately prepared for a location on the 3rd Street Promenade. The line is out the door, and they’re completely incapable of keeping up with the demand. My pink drink was the most disgusting drink I have ever tasted, and that’s saying a lot. I’m not exaggerating in the slightest. When I came to the counter to pick it up, there were several people at the counter complaining about their drinks and asking for it to be fixed, and the barista seemed very flustered and incapable of handling it. I don’t know where the manager is, but they are not running their location well at all, and hardly training their staff. As for my drink, I didn’t complain about it since they were clearly flustered, but was immensely displeased. It’s white at the top and red at the bottom, and tastes awful all around. On top of it all, the place is also a mess. I understand it’s a crowded location, but my boyfriend works at one in the Melrose District that is just as crowded, and they keep that place sparkling clean, around the clock. I think this is a management issue, more than anything. They need to get their act together. Needless to say, I won’t be back to this Starbucks again. By far the worst Starbucks in just about every aspect that I have EVER been to.

We ordered two medium-sized regular coffee (brewed, $2.5 ea.) but got two frappucino at $5 ea. instead, which we didn't enjoy at all. By the way, we looked like two foreign travellers (although we've been in the US for 9 years). Would give negative ratings if possible!

Arrived at 2210 hoping to get my son and I a late night drink and snack (order in advance not available on App) and was very disappointed to discover they’re locked up twenty minutes before the advertised close.

So…this is one of my local coffee shops. I go there multiple times a week, sometimes multiple times a day. The staff is always so friendly. My only issue is the new placement of the cups. I always need a visual of the different sizes and now they’re in the middle of the floor which literally makes no sense for customers. But also, I think it’s going to slow down the staff because it’s literally in the middle of their workspace. I think It’s also a legit a fire hazard. There needs to be an unobstructed pathway for staff to move in the event of say, an earthquake or another emergency. It’s also just hard to see visuals of the different sizes. Just my two cents as a regular customer

I'm disappointed, the waiter doesn't pay any attention to the customers, the service sucks, plus there are no toilets for those who drink, which is even worse. I and the whole family will never go to Starbucks again.

So I came in to get a snack. I had been skateboarding and just needed to wash my hands. I went to both hand sanitizer machines which were totally empty. Asked girl at counter if I can wash my hands in the restroom and she said I’d have to walk to and use the restroom down the promenade.I asked if she had sanitizer behind the counter I could use and she very nonchalantly replied “No, sorry”. Admittedly frustrated but still trying to keep a light hearted tone, I exited saying “Fill those sanitizer dispensers!” And the girl sarcastically replied “Okayyyyyy”, not caring that a sale was lost due to having no way to wash one’s hands . Where are we in society ! Pay these workers more, teach them pride in their work, idk something ! Maybe she was having a rough day but at some point , standards of work should still prevail at least a little bit 🤷‍♂️. No ill wishes , but I felt convicted to share to hopefully facilitate improvement.

Apparently the Starbucks on the Third Street Promenade thinks it's acceptable to tell someone with a connective tissue disorder, a fainting disorder and a brain tumour that they can't sit down, despite the fact that California has a well-established right-to-sit law, I am disabled and that directly violates the Americans with Disabilities Act. I had to sit on the floor because there was no seating in the establishment. Which I was fine with until I was harassed. I called to complain and the manager was only half-heartedly listening and when I mentioned that it wasn't okay to assume my gender because I am non-binary, she hung up on me. My next call will be to the corporate office because this is not acceptable behaviour in the year of our lord 2024. Also worth mentioning that my lemonade was watered down and room temperature, which I normally wouldn't complain about, but with everything else I mentioned, I had to throw that in there.

On Tuesday March 3rd around 9:00 p.m. I came into the store to get a half coffee thermos full of hot water for some tea and I was told NO.. very strange because I had been here before a couple times in the morning to get hot water for tea and there were no issues and the people were very nice if because it was in the morning I don't know, or if this was in the evening there's some different policy going on. I asked the guy for hot water and he said sorry no. it was about 10 minutes before 9:00 pm and no other Starbucks ilwas going to be open so I asked if he could just make an exception for this one time and in the future I would know. he said well let me go ask my manager he opened a door kind of like towards the back I don't know if you really asked anyone or not but he came back and he said no and I told him that's really messed up considering there's no other stores that will be open at this time they're pretty much the only Starbucks that stays open late till about 10:30om. I was lucky though I went to a different Starbucks and just barely made it inside they had absolutely no issue giving me a little bit of hot water for my tea tonight . what was even ruder about this exchange was that on my way out he said have a good night but it was his tone that was indicative that he was being a jerk about it. I would definitely not recommend this Starbucks to anyone steer clear and go to a different Starbucks. Good luck! ✌️ 🕊️

I’d really appreciate if Starbucks can have the option of adding a water to the order in the mobile app. It happened before and happened again in this location today that I just need a water when picking up my mobile order, but told I have to order at the register. The only purpose to order through app is that I don’t have to stand in line at the register.

Never before have I been racially profiled... sadly while I was at this store, I was told that I looked like the people who crashed the planes on 9/11. Given the fact that this day was an excruciating painful memory (for us all) - you can imagine how offensive this was. I had on the hunter denim swag pant -it gives fashionista, it gives ready to dance.... it does not give how I was treated and the words I was called. This was so next level you guys - that while every other customer received hearts and smiles on their cups, I received attitude from the barista - who literally threw Cinnamon at me after the whole ordeal -(male, tall, Hispanic, though I forgot his name). All that cinnamon literally thrown... like ... why? ...so much force used, missed the cup, and landed cinnamon all over the counter. I refused the drink. Not sure exactly what this was -but it was shocking to see and far below the standard that Starbucks ever served. I reported all this to Adriana and Kat and based on the airplane comment, they immediately sided, were rude and unprofessional. They saw me as "them" not as Us. It didn't matter how I was treated - all that mattered was HOW I LOOKED. That aside, Rosa was the star. She was kind, apologized on behalf of her store managers and insisted that I contact the District Manager, Ryan. I spoke to Him today and am creating awareness so that this does not happen to anyone else. *I captured a few pics highlighting the cinnamon, which unfortunately reflects the level of service received. If I could rate this store a 0, I would.

Very rude staff. I asked for the bathroom code and when I didn’t hear the staff member Kat the first time she looked at me like I was dumb than repeated very slowly. Her and the other staff then laughed at me when I got it right and said “good job”. Sorry I’m hearing impaired and didn’t hear you the first time in a loud coffee shop.

As a local Santa Monica resident and local business owner, I’m beyond disappointed in this starbucks location. I was denied free water on a very hot day. It was a Monday and they weren’t busy at all. It’s California Law for restaurants and coffee shops to provide free water, yet the barista refused to give me a cup of free tap water (even after asking nicely). This is the last time I will ever set foot in a starbucks, and am happy that two of their locations recently closed in my neighborhood. From now on, I’ll ONLY support local coffee shops. If you’re looking for good coffee in Santa Monica, there are better options like; LOKL HAUS, blossom and friends, or Espresso Cielo(downtown Santa Monica). For delicious hot chocolate go to Bacio di Latte.

Ridiculous, Starbucks has new wall chargers. For the first time, walls allows charging polls. Homeless people now steal. As a new person, I unwittingly fell for that TRAP, and had my belongs Stolen. Supervisor refused to HELP. Instead, she Called the POLICE on ME. RIDICULOUS. Yeah, Police Agreed. Got the Thieve's Photo. Got Starbucks store VIDEO Footage by Detective. Stuppiid waste of time. Store Supervisor didn't help.

Today was my worst coffee shop experience ever. I visited to order my typical drink and despite having some accent as I live in US for just 8 years I never have issues with being understood. I asked for Venti Latte with Whole Milk and wanted it Hot. Associate didn’t understood me and just didn’t add any item to my order. I asked why they added nothing, they didn’t even ask me to repeat. So I repeat 5 times and they didn’t understand me but there was not respect, no desire to help, just arrogance and annoyance. I pointed their disrespect out and said loudly I’m ordering nothing if so. Another associate “David” started shouting at me “you are older and should show respect those younger associates”. He was delusional. First of all everyone deserves respect regardless of age. Second, in fact in many cultures older people are considered to deserve respect but we are in customer centric business where mutual respect and respect to customer should be the focus. I find commenting on my age extremely disrespectful and offensive. They literally tried to shame a customer based on their age. I made it clear I will report such and file a complaint so that guy David said “get out of my store”. I’m not inventing, he even repeat that “get out of my store”. Are they delusional? They are not owners of that store. Does Starbucks train associate to remove unwanted customers saying “get out”? Finally, that guy David said this “you acting like those homeless guys from outside”. I asked him to repeat and he repeat “you act like homeless”. Hey Starbucks, you train your associates to disrespect people based on their income and housing conditions??? In fact my income is probably higher than entire shift combined, I’m not homeless but different people are at different stages and some are homeless because of various reasons which are not their fault. While some of them cause disturbance framing it as homeless are bad or disgusting or anything like that is very disrespectful. That entitled dude doesn’t known what life prepares for him to act in such an arrogant manner. I’ve been through a lot before earning more money than he can even imagine and if he considers such comments in age, homeless people or attitude to accents Ok he should never be allowed to interact with customers. However, another associate was present and hearing all that stuff and she just said “I am the manager, leave the store or I will ask to escort you out”. So Starbucks managers fully embrace disrespecting and harassing customers. I will not step into any Starbucks until this shift is fired.

Better to close than to do this. No furniture in a Starbucks. Is it a war happening around or something worse?

awful... There are never enough people behind the counter, so the person taking your order is always preoccupied and asking you to repeat something. They make the drinks messy so it always looks like your drink threw up, and they ONLY USE PAPER CUPS NOW, so cleaning your cup isn't really an option anymore. (This is also a franchise, so the drinks are all atleast $1 more) It's easier and more convenient to go to the one over on Ocean... also more seating, cleaner soundings.

This Starbucks has no indoor seating. The space looks empty and frustrating. It seems especially weird as it's a walkable street with no drive through. It's so sad that Starbucks is changing their "third place" philosophy to "buy and get out" focused business. There are a lot of local cozy coffee places around, I'd prefer to support them instead.

Unacceptable Service and Discriminatory Behavior at Starbucks 1356 3rd street Promenade Santa Monica CA 90401- on March 21, 2025 at approximately 10:00 AM PST Upon entering the store, I was the first customer in line. Behind me was a Black homeless man holding a cold sandwich, and behind him was another lady. There were no visible staff members at the cash registers. After a short wait, a female employee with black straight hair approached the registers. Instead of assisting me, the waiting customer, she deliberately approached the Black homeless man behind me. While I could not clearly hear the exchange, I observed the man placing the sandwich back in the refrigerator and leaving the store empty-handed. The same employee then continues standing behind the cash register. The lady behind me began to place her order. I then addressed the employee, stating clearly, "Excuse me, I was here first. Can I have a cortado?" The employee looked at me blankly. and dair nothing. I repeated, "May I have a cortado, please? And btw I was going to pay for that gentleman's sandwich." The employee, still standing behind the register, looked at me as if I wasn't speaking to her and remained silent. For a third time, I stated, "I would like a cortado, please." She then stated, with a dismissive tone and no apology, "I don't take orders, sir.", I said “What”? and she said “I don’t take orders”, I thought, is she for real, she is standing behind the cash register but Before I could respond to this baffling statement, another barista, a blonde woman, approached and offered to take my order, which she did. The first female employee with black straight hair remained at the register. The customer behind me expressed her confusion, to which the black-haired employee replied, "I am confused too," before turning and returning to preparing sandwiches. I then stated loudly to the customer behind me, "She says she doesn't take orders!" and left the store. My issue is multi-faceted and deeply troubling. Firstly, the employee with black hair displayed an unacceptable level of rudeness and dismissiveness. As someone working behind the counter at Starbucks, taking customer orders is a fundamental part of the job. Her refusal to do so, coupled with her dismissive attitude, is inexcusable. Secondly, and more concerningly, it appeared that her sole purpose in approaching the register in the first place was to deter the Black homeless man from making a purchase. Her interaction with him, followed by his immediate departure, strongly suggests she intentionally made him feel unwelcome or unable to order. This behavior is discriminatory and completely unacceptable. This employee's actions not only provided me with terrible customer service, but they also potentially shamed a vulnerable individual, resulted in a lost sale for your company (both his sandwich and my intended purchase), and have now lost me as a future customer. While I do not expect excessive pleasantries from starbucks rmployers, basic politeness and a willingness to perform the core functions of the job are the minimum I expect from Starbucks employees. The behavior I witnessed was far below these standards and suggests a serious lack of customer service training or, worse, a prejudiced attitude
