Feast always delicious! In the 15 years I’ve been a patron at this eatery, it always impresses with its flavor profiles and oft exotic menu. Today, shaved ribeye steak & eggs was the Sunday brunch choice. Delicately flavored so you may taste it all. As Tucson is now a gastronomic city, it seems the focus is on dinner spots more than lunch or brunch. Feast for brunch, lunch or dinner...and you’re sure to be a winner! - Evelyn
I have never had a grilled cheese before, and I saw the grilled cheese at Feast was one of “Tucson’s iconic 31 dishes,” so I made it a point to come here. The grilled cheese certainly did not disappoint, and in all honesty, I would argue that the cheese was the least indulgent part between the wonderfully tasty vegetables/salad and the marvelous bread that had the perfect blend of crunchiness while allowing the dough to melt in your mouth. Of course, there are many other great items on the menu here that I hope to explore, but I recognized that I had to opt for the classic here. Regardless, I was able to try my friend’s rabbit and salami sandwich, which was also good, but there’s a reason that the grilled cheese is a classic here. Lastly, the price is quite good for what you’re getting, considering its freshness, portion size and atmosphere
This is a really nice place, the staff is extra friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and are very attentive to your table and needs. The food is excellent and they have very unique choices that set them apart. Excellent beer and wine variety. A bit on the pricey side but well worth the money.
The food was absolutely spectacular. We started with the pork trifecta and the bread service, for dinner I had the braised short rib, and for dessert we had chocolate cake with coffee frosting, an apricot tart, and chocolate chip cookies. Everything we had was spectacular. I also particularly appreciate it the sommelier. He was incredibly knowledgeable. He picked three bottles for us gave us a 15 minute class on the three wines and helped us pick the best option for our food.
Food delightful!! Went for brunch, started with coffee, a kir royale and quail breasts, all done well. Kir royale aren't common, and they did it well. Coffee could have been better but it's not a diner. I went with the sherried french toast, with manchego cheese, quince paste and marcona almonds, which is very reminiscent of a Spanish themed cheese board. I was worried that I would miss the traditional maple syrup, but I did not. The quince paste was a very good stand in. We also got some truffle cookies at the end, which they sell for .80 each, this is a deal, these things are complex and rich. Service was polite and prompt. Not very busy in there, but we will be back for sure.
If you don't regularly eat at Feast, this is the month to make an exception and have an amazing experience, November 2024 features some of the best appetizers, side dishes, main courses and deserts owner and chef Doug Levy has ever invented. ESPECIALLY the deserts!!! And this is from someone who has been going to Feast for special occasions for more than 15 years. The Roasted Piquillo Peppers appetizer consists of small, bright red peppers from Spain stuffed with deliciously chewy mozzarella over a bed of sauteed butternut squash, onions, and dry cured olives. The combination of flavors defies my ability to describe. The side dish of Celery Root Gratin is a more flavorful variation on the traditional French preparation of Potato Gratin: the root is sliced very thin and layered with breadcrumbs and cheese. Delicious comfort food. The Pork Osso Buco is a very generous portion of pork shank served with mustard greens, roasted shitake mushrooms, delectable zucchini fritters, and the most amazing butternut squash preparation I have ever tasted: sliced razor thin, sweetened and flavored with ginger. As with the Piquillo Peppers, this is a dish where the flavors and textures of the parts must be tasted together for the true genius of the meal to be appreciated. I'm usually picky about combining, preferring to taste each part separately and savour the distinctions, but with this entree - after eating all the fritters - I made sure to get a little bit of all four onto the fork each time, and I am a better, happier person for doing so. And now the deserts. Of the 4 seasonal offerings I have tasted two. The Hazelnut Dacqoise is a triple layer pastry, decadently laden with vanilla buttercream and brightened by the presence of candied citrus peel, This should stay on the menu for at least one more month. The Bay and Sherry Poached Pear, however, will only be available through the end of November. It is a lovely preparation: half a poached, seeded pear encircled by brown sugar pastry cream and candied cranberries. Once again, it is the combination of flavors that is truly extraordinary. So my advice is to come to Feast and give thanks that Doug is doing what he loves, and we, his neighbors, benefit immeasurably thereby!
Sorry to say that I avoided Feast for a long time simply due to the name, sign, and outside appearance. Big mistake! Inside had a great vibe, service was fantastic and knowledgeable. Pork shank was super good so was rib eye and scallops that friends got. I'll be back each time I'm in Tucson!
Inviting and casual spot for imaginative and tasty food selections. Chef redoes the menu at least monthly so no guarantees what we had is what you’ll get! But it will be seasonal. We shared an entree so could sample an extra starter. Top marks for the lobster corn and scallion bread pudding and blistered shishito peppers. Also loved the butterscotch pot de crème. Enjoyed the homemade ice cream but would recommend the chef decrease the miso — great idea for an ingredient but a lighter hand would help make it less salty. Nice wine list with several half bottle selections to match your dishes.
We started with the crispy duck salad, which was Delicioso!! I ordered the bánh mi steak sandwich, It was very delicious except they were very stingy with the steak. My wife ordered the pork broth with pork belly noodle soup with hand made noodles that were cooked to perfection al dente! Overall great restaurant and high quality food we will definitely be back. Thanks 🙏🏻
The owner, the servers, the wine, the food, the ambience…this place is a Tucson gem. You can’t go wrong here. Get ready to buckle in your taste buds, because they’ll go for a ride. Make sure to get a wine pairing from the sommelier—it’ll take your experience to the next level. Hit the wine shop on the way out for anything you didn’t buy during dinner. We ended up buying another bottle and more on our way out!
Both people I asked separately who to use for catering a reception told me Feast Catering. Boy, were they right. I have been delighted from first to last: with Amy in terms of selecting a menu, getting details worked out, making changes, then April and Cindy at the site on the day of event. Each treat was gorgeous, scrumptious, and artfully presented. They were professional, delivered exactly as promised, with not a single hitch or surprise. I don't necessarily want another funeral reception, but I am so impressed with them I won't dread it. They exceeded every expectation and were far more affordable than I'd feared when I saw the menu of delights.
The food was delicious and creative. The portion was just right, which filled us but didn't make us stuffed. The seafood soup is very fresh and "seafood". I love that the lobster was fried before putting into the soup which sealed its flavor. If you are an adventurer, try their creative dessert items and you may find a new thing you like.
I've always, always, always loved the creativity of this place. With a menu that changes often...some things every three months, others daily, sometimes weekly you HAVE to try new things! And they're often amazing. Wild boar chops, marrow bones, risottos, handmade pastas, wild mushrooms, crazy icecream flavors, amazing desserts and a wine list to die for, its never boring. But then the Pandemic came. In a single day Doug and his crew pivoted to take out and faced all challenges with a grace that is amazing. They put on masks before the CDC recommended, figured out cocktails to go, even virtual wine tastings! All this while figuring out how to pack it all in takeout boxes and cryo bags patrons could plate at home while shortages of ingredients abounded. Then they got the community involved. Writing daily emailsand talking donations, they're weekly feeding hundreds of healthcare workers and staff down to the hospital housekeeping. All the staff is dedicated and working daily. And when Arizona caved and opened well before COVID cases were on the decline they made the unselfish decision that dine in was far too risky as restaurants could easily become petri dishes with people gathering hours of exposure from one infected person. So they're keeping to AWESOME takeout that serves up great at home while keeping both the community and their staff safe. I loved their food, their fun, their spirit, and their staff. Now I love their heart as well.
We came here for another anniversary dinner and as always the food and service is on par. We had the seared scallop appetizer, which was great. We both got the duck breast with pancakes. The duck was cooked perfectly. We have enjoyed the food here for years and will continue to come back because of the consistency. The server even brought out two fresh fudge cookies with candles because of our anniversary. Nice little surprise. Thank you. Highly recommend for any occasion.
First night in Tucson and wanted a nice dinner. Quick search of nearby restaurants and we hit on Feast. So glad we went in! One of the best dining experiences we have had. The staff, service, food and ambiance were all perfect! The food was unique but familiar. All sorts of flavors. The wine paired perfectly and we went home with 2 bottles from the shop. Highly recommend!
Wow we left Feast a couple of hours ago and I’m still thinking about all of the different flavors I experienced here. The menu was refreshing, creative, and delicious. The service was outstanding. Everything from start to finish was so good and different. The beet and goat cheese ravioli were amazing. The flavors complemented each other so well for a unique dining experience. The hazelnut and plum tart were also stellar. Definitely give this place a try! We tried it due to their Sonora Week menu and were simply blown away and happy we gave this place a try.
We went there for Mother's Day, and we were not disappointed. The restaurant was nice and quaint, and the food was great. We had hanger steak, and red curry tart with chicken . They were delicious. The steak was very tender and had excellent flavor. The service was friendly and quick. And we enjoyed the large wine selection. I would recommend Feast.
The special menu for Sonoran Restaurant week $45 per person+ 1st course Cauliflower en mole Comments: Overall good taste, cauliflower pieces were too large and tough. Many be too large of a serving Chestnut risotto Comments: very good with enough to take home Truffled meatballs Comments: Great flavor, very mild radish (for someone who doesn't put radishes on the favorite list), sweet broth...yummy 2nd course Heirloom tomatoes (did not order) Half roast chicken Comments: great tender chicken with enough to take home Onglet Comments: Great beef and tender, the cauliflower-chickpea fries was really like potatoes. The broccolini could have been cooked a little longer, the stalks took effort to chew through. House-made udon noodles Comment: Best udon noodles experienced n the USA! 3rd course Orange-anise cake Comments: It's a cake, doesn't compare to the other two.... Verrine Comments: The Parfait had lots of different flavors and was second best of the three. Pandan sweet rice cake Comments: Everyone at the table agreed that this was a real winner of the three. The rice cake had texture but no real sweetness. The passionfruit cream gave the sweetness. The tuile was thin and delicate....Outstanding! Very large wine selection as the owner is INTO wines with a retail store to buy to take home. Overall: best meal of the other Sonoran Restaurant Week places that we visited. Generous portions with lots of doggie bags to savor in following days. We will be back......
Feast never fails to impress. Even dishes that you think you would never like, you may find that you love. The menu changes monthly, but there are often repeats. I have gotten take-out, ordered catering, as well as dined in with family and I highly recommend all three methods. They have an excellent wine selection and knowledgeable front-of-the-house. Feast is an excellent place for a special dinner for two, or just grabbing a sandwich for take-out. They have amazing desserts as well. Our first time dining in (Dec2021), we celebrated my other half's birthday. Four of us got a reservation for 5pm and we were promptly seated. The dining area was clean and the lighting was adequate, but not mood-killing. We started the evening with a bottle of 2019 Turley Zin from Lodi which was excellent. We had the 2018 Turley Zin from Paso Robles with our meals which was a perfect pairing for what turned out to be very "hunter's feast-esque". The Grilled Tenderloin of Venison stood out as one of the best game-meats I have ever had (I have had many). The truffled liver mousse was intimidating at first-glance, but was actually the perfect addition to the venison to make the perfect bite. The Pan-roasted Barramundi was a great skin-on fillet of Barramundi fish that was delicate and flakey, but still had a nice strong flavor. This was an ideal dish for someone looking to try a fish they have likely never seen before (I had only recently seen the Barra on some Australian Youtube). The Braised Short Ribs might have been my favorite. It was very tender and flavorful and I had a hard time leaving it alone (I ordered the Barra). I had the chance to have it again for our company holiday luncheon that Feast catered and it was just as good (albeit a smaller portion). My mother was not feeling super hungry so she opted for a lighter salad. She got a dinner salad with poached pear, candied pecans, and fresh mozzarella on butter lettuce. For dessert we shared a Butterscotch pot de crème. It was amazing, but I only had a few bites as I wanted to let the birthday girl enjoy it. The chocolate truffle cookies are a must-have and you should order one (or more) for each person in your party. Our most recent visit (Feb2022) was a take-out order of some sandwiches and a few sides. We called the order in at 5:00PM and it was ready by 5:45PM. The woman who took our order was new, but she did very well keeping up with my fast-paced ordering. We started with the Lobster, corn, and scallion bread pudding with Parmesan cream sauce. This was a lot smaller than I thought it would be, but it was the right size. It was very rich and delicious with bits of corn and lobster mingling with the parmesan cream sauce. My better half got the Feast Grilled Cheese, which was Halloumi cheese, honey-roasted eggplant, tomato and red onion on a French roll. I am usually not a fan of the classic grilled cheese sammie, but this was an amazing take on the classic. The honey-roasted eggplant with tomato really complimented the seared Halloumi cheese. I could not decide between the Fried Bologna and the Fried Smelt sandwich so I ordered both. I ended up eating the Fried Smelt and really enjoyed it. The smelt were fried whole (bottom-jaw, gills, and guts removed) and piled on a brioche bun and topped with kimchi and fish sauce aioli. If you like the classic fried fish sammie with cole-slaw and mayo, this is a leveled up version of that. The kimchi was not spicy and was very tasty, albeit milder that I like my kimchi to be. I saved the Fried bologna for lunch today and I am about to go eat it now. (It doesn't feel fair to review that one now as I am having it for leftovers) Overall I am very happy with every interaction I have had with Feast. You can be adventurous and know that the chef will create a delicious dish that you may never have tried without trusting them. I will be having more off the February menu this month, and I look forward to what they have in store for us in March.
Definitely did not expect this place to be what it was when viewed from the outside. Feast offers a fine-dining experience. My party and I went during Sonoran Restaurant week to try the $45 prix fixe (3 courses). Unfortunately, I had to switch to a single entrée after they ran out of the main entrée I'd ordered among the 3 courses. Nevertheless, our dishes were delicious. One of my friends ordered the risotto appetizer, hanger steak, and orange cake for dessert. The other ordered the truffle meatballs, half a roast of chicken, and vanisse (not certain of spelling) plum and bread-crumb-like dessert. It looked sort of like a pudding/sundae but was much lighter. I can't think of what to compare it to. I had the special of the day, a snapper with a sizeable amount of tomato on a bed of Spanish rice. Everything tasted fantastic apart from the meatbals and chicken. Neither were packed with much flavor, though they were very moist! I abstained from spirits this evening, so I can say nothing of them, but the list was quite extensive.
This was and is a fabulous dinning experience, but it is not for a faint wallet. They have an impressive wine menu, with rich and creative dishes. The waitresses Sammie was perfect. We had hanger steak, that melted in your mouth. We had a red curry tart...omg my god....soo unexpectedly delicious. The way the flavors married with the chicken can only be achieved by a true chef. Amazing 👏. I did not like the bathrooms, they need to be cleaned more. Cleaned around the walls. This is an elevated food experience so everything has to be perfect. 5 stars for now. Amazing food. Take a bow. Bravo. Total cost $200 for 4 people
Feast is simply a breath of fresh air, from its welcoming environment to its thoughtful, well-curated menu. We greatly appreciated the entire team’s full grasp of good service, from the gracious host to the chef himself, who went table to table to extend hospitality from the kitchen. It’s a diverse setting, brimming with art and good wine, and apparently we were among the last to find this lovely gem, since it was absolutely packed on a weeknight. We sampled multiple courses (including the leeks, redfish, pork loin, griddled angel-food cake, along with an old-vine Zin from the novella of a wine list), and we thoroughly enjoyed every element of the meal. Looking forward to many more feasts to come!
This restaurant is one of my favorites. The menu changes every month, I believe it's on the first Tuesday, but I'm not positive about that. You can always go online and look at the menu. There is so much variety in the offerings and the way things are prepared here that the food is simply exquisite! You can find things prepared here like you've never had them before. The servers and the staff are extremely knowledgeable about wine pairings with your food. Everything here is made in-house from bread to dessert. They also have wonderful wine tastings. The prices here are high, but I find that it is worth every penny for the quality of food and service that they have here. The chef/owner is always on site and often comes out to find out how your food is. That doesn't happen in just any restaurant. You simply can't go wrong here. The ambiance is nice and the lighting is perfect. Reservations are totally recommended, as they fill up quickly.
My wife and I had an early dinner here just before Christmas and we were pleasantly surprised with our experience. As we didn't have reservations we were told that we would have to release the table in an hour and a half which we agreed to. The server was very pleasant and answered all the questions we had and when asked about wine recommendations due to the large wine list she asked the sommelier to assist us. After asking about our tastes and what we were planning to eat he brought over three bottles. We chose a 2010 French wine which while nice was a bit past it's prime but still enjoyable especially at the price point at a restaurant. Our meals were very good other than my kale being a bit over-salted while this wasn't an issue for my wife's. My lamb was cooked perfectly and my wife enjoyed the pork shank.
Love this place! Chef Doug Levy is very creative, and understands complementary flavors like nobody else. If you are looking for an extraordinary meal, look no further. Our favorite thing about Feast is the monthly wine tasting (last Sunday of the month). We always enjoy the wines, and the little snacks Chef Doug creates to go with them bring out nuances of the wine you wouldn't have noticed when tasting without the food. The wine tastings are back to in-person now, as of 2023! They are open for dine in; they are currently closed on Sundays due to staffing issues, but watch for them to reopen for brunch and dinner! Feast has done takeout forever, so they know how to do it right. If you don't feel like eating in, pick up some takeout and buy wine from the wine shop. Corey will help you find a great pairing. The staff are so nice, too. Feast is one of Tucson's treasures! With Thanksgiving coming up, I thought I should add: if you want to serve wine with your Thanksgiving (or other) meal, come to the wine shop at Feast! You can talk to Corey (or Doug) about what you plan to serve and what you and any guests tend to prefer for wines, and they will steer you to something excellent - and they won't try to talk you into something beyond your price point. It may not be a large ship, but they have a fantastic selection and extremely knowledgeable staff.
We came here to Feast for our one year anniversary and it was a success. We had courses and the staff was very attentive and friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. It was a little warm for me which is why I minus a star for the atmosphere. The cocktails made me hot LOL We set up reservations the night before and they were ready 15 minutes earlier for us. It is ADA Compliant. I came in with my Walker but I could have came in with my wheelchair.
We visited the last Saturday before the May menu dropped. We shared leek and aspargus starter and salad. I had the onglet while my husband had the vegetarian option which was a cauliflower dish. My steak was tender and the sides were delicious. We shared a chocolate dessert based around Girl Scout cookies. Wonderful way to finish the meal. The wait staff was attentive and we enjoyed chatting with the chef when he came to our table.
We had a really nice casual business dinner here. The restaurant was highly accommodating and responsive to my requests before we ever showed up. The wine menu is extensive, much longer than the food menu! The food was great, and we were able to carry on conversations without needing to yell, which is always a good thing. The setting is very casual.
Stopped by for lunch at Feast, such yummy options! Loved the daily special open-faced salmon sandwich and also had the pork schnitzel on a brioche bun. And of course, fabulous deserts, including griddled angel food cake with gingered cherry preserves and goat cheese crème fraiche. Always something special at Feast!
I took my mom to eat lunch. We were greeted with a smile, and we chose a place to sit of our choice. The atmosphere was peaceful, and the place was clean. My mom had the white salad with shrimp & I had the steak sandwich with some greens. Both dishes was PERFECT! We also ordered a steak sandwich to go. We are not Rich by any means. However, my mom is unable to get out much and being able to spend time with her and eat this meal with her in such an awesome place with awesome service means everything to me. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
I have been wanting to try Feast for many years and FINALLY made it there for Valentine’s Day and it was everything I had hoped it would be! They had a pre fixe menu along with the February menu items, you could also order pre fixe items ala carte. We started with the specialty bread service and the Lobster/Corn/Scallion Bread Pudding and were in absolute carb heaven. I had the Mushroom Tart and my husband did the Beef Tenderloin. All of the food was bursting with flavor and we were both proud members of the clean plate club. I had a couple of bites of the spinach soufflé that came with my husband’s entree and could have made an entire meal out of a slab of that! We DID save room for dessert and split the chocolate caramel nut tart which was scrumptious. The service was excellent and we enjoyed watching the owner/chef go around checking on his guests. If you want a nice meal in an ambiance that makes you feel as if you are at someone’s home and enjoying creations from their kitchen, Feast is where it’s at! We will definitely be back and enjoyed the entire experience from beginning to end.
Probably the best, most interesting food I've had since moving to the area 6 years ago. Wait staff, chef were wonderful, explained the food and spent time at the table briefly chatting. They also have a wine shop and other delicious libations. I will go back often as their menu changes a few times a year. Ambience is pleasant and the food excellent and exceptional. Thanks for the delicious experience!
First time to this restaurant which has unique menus that change on a monthly basis. I loved everything about it. The service was impeccable and the chef (owner?) came to our table to chat with us. Excellent cocktail and wine list. The food was inventive, fresh, with clean bold flavors. Everything was perfectly cooked, from the chicken livers, to the rabbit, steak and mackerel.Do yourself a favor and check it out.
We just had appetizers as we were headed over to a show afterwards and we got out just in time -- the food and the appetizers and the atmosphere were marvelous. We will go back.
Craft cocktails were well balanced and generous. Perfect portions of masterfully crafted flavor. The roast quail was absolutely wonderful. The pistachio custard was one of the best desserts I have ever had the pleasure of tasting. Bread service is a must. The wait staff exceeded all expectations. A truly wonderful dining experience.
The food and service was awesome. We had the country bread, lobster and beef tenderloin. Waiters and staff were kind and attentive. Chef came out and greeted the guests. We will definitely come back again.
The experience was wonderful... excellent service, they made us feel special. Our two appetizers (roots & roasted piquille peppers)were a sensory delight...bright colors, layered flavors, unusual yet familiar (not easy to do well). Redfish main was good (slightly undercooked) but the Urfa Chili spoonbread stole the show. The tamales were too delicate a flavor for my spouse but I loved them, tasted of the desert which us Marylanders don't often get! Dessert was over the top... grapefruit peel!!
Went her for Valentine’s and enjoyed their special prix fixe menu and a couple a la carte items. The savory lobster bread pudding we had as our first course was the best bit of the night. Took me right back home to Louisiana. Portion sizes were bigger than expected, and the chef made several passes to check in, make sure the food was to our liking, and answer any questions. I’d say it’s well worth the price. The atmosphere didn’t feel very upscale. More of a nostalgic and homey vibe. But it didn’t take away from the experience at all. The food was the star.
I love this restaurant! From the extensive wine list, the inventive cocktails, the various delicacies prepared to perfection to the attentive wait staff and comfortable ambience there is so much to rave about and nothing to complain about. Please take my advice and enjoy a meal here!
I've driven by Feast many times and assumed it was a cheesy diner based on their sign. Au contraire- don't let the sign mislead you! Go eat here now! We felt like the only people who were first timers as everyone else greeted waiters by name. The proprietor was on sommelier duty and stopped by every table to chat. It was so welcoming, not at all snotty like some restaurants with similar price points. You will feel welcome here. And I know it's about the food- The food was lovely, portions perfect, creations creative, and of course it was tasty. For me, paying for a great meal is about more than the food, it's about the atmosphere, the way you are treated, the other patrons, and the warmth of the experience. Very excited to come back for the next menu.
Amazing food! The lobster is the best I've ever had even better than Maine. So tender and tasty. It is expensive but of excellent quality. The waitress was amazing and so knowledgeable.
I was here for a birthday dinner. It's my favorite restaurant in Tucson. Doug, the owner/chef, comes out and talks with patrons (only if you want it), and you can learn a lot about wine from him. Most people chose a wine to go with the food, Doug designs his food of the month for some of his wines. Menu changes every month.
The June 2025 menu has some truly fabulous items. I love savory foods, and if you do too I recommend the sauteed kolrabi and sauteed mushroom with pesto appetizer. The salad of fresh water chestnuts bib lettus, and pickled ginger is the freshest Asian style salad I've ever tasted. The entrees include soft shall crabs, a divine Chicken Roulade, barramundi, hangar steak, and a vegetarian gallete. Tuesday June 24 is a special celebration with a one night Spanish menu. There is also freshly made lavender lemonade! It's a perfect way to cool off during a hot Tucson summer.
Another fantastic dinner at Feast last night. The tuna tatare was flavorful and a nice portion. The pork chop was delicious. It was a nice thick cut and the brine added some amazing flavor. The persimmon pudding was a great side. Then there was the fried sole. Great coating and cooked just right. Nice sauce on it too. Also, the food was served hot. Two very different dishes that would have different cooking times and everything came out nice and hot. Very few restaurants in Tucson achieve that. Finally, the staff is very nice. Efficient and yet they make you feel comfortable. A wonderful dinner.
We’ve been here only a handful of times over the years, just because we don’t eat out very much, but we have never had anything we did not like. The staff has always been excellent and many times the chef has come out and asked about our meal, which is rare and nice. We usually get the special, from fish to pork shank, and it’s wonderful. We don’t feel anything over sauced or seasoned or drowning in anything. You can truly taste the flavors of the food. Excellent wine selection and suggestions from the servers. Love this place.
Don't skip the bread. It's amazing. Waiter was knowledgeable and attentive, but didn't hover. He also was very knowledgeable about the wines and made some great recommendations. Desserts (homemade ice cream and carrots cake) were also delicious. Great place for a special occasion dinner
We have been lucky enough to have been going to this restaurant for years. The quality is fantastic. The amazing combinations that I would never think of are so inspiring and delicious. It is always a special treat to go to Feast. One testament to what great people they are is that the waitstaff has been there literally for decades. I really can’t say enough about this restaurant. We love going to their special meals that are several courses paired with wine. We went to one last night for our birthdays/anniversary. It was incredible. I love Feast, and they have a great wine shop to boot. You can stock up as you leave. I always have to drag my husband out!
One of the best meals we’ve ever had. Have seen the sign and had time to check it out. Read the reviews and wanted to give it a try. So glad we did!! You can definitely tell the care and expertise put into the food. Can’t wait to try it again!!
One of the best local restaurants in Tucson. My husband and I made reservations for 7:30 on a Saturday evening, we were sat immediately and instantly greeted with the staff wishing us a happy anniversary! I have a shellfish allergy and our waitress made sure to ask about it and she was very knowledgeable about cross contamination. We unfortunately aren’t wine people but the wine list and cocktail menu were both very extensive and I’m sure have something for everyone! Our beef tartare appetizer was to die for! And both of our entrees were amazing and cooked to the perfect temperature. I was also impressed with Feast still following the restaurant table spacing guidelines and the staff and guests being masked when not seated. I know this is a tough time but out of respect for them we gladly followed their requests in order to enjoy one of the best meals we have had in awhile. Thank you Doug for a wonderful date night!
We ate here twice in the past month, both times lunch. The place has a wonderful ambiance, with the seating socially distanced. The servers and staff were all covid compliant. The food is fresh and has high quality ingredients and was delicious. On our first visit, my partner had the special, which was a roasted lamb sandwich with a side salad. I had the smoked mackerel sandwich, also with a side salad. Everything was fresh and delicious.
Excellent meal. Mushroom soup intensely flavored and supremely delicious, scallops perfectly seared, bone marrow was perfect, king salmon was amazing. Great wine selection. Professional yet friendly staff. Can't wait for my next visit!
My wife and I had a wonderful celebrating a special occasion this weekend at Feast. We have been here many times before and we love the changing menu. It'd always different and eclectic. The service was excellent and we received special attention from the owner/chef who frequents the dining area. He helped us select a wine for our meal and when we left, he opened the door for us on the way out and thanked us for celebrating with them. It was a very pleasing experience all around. Thank you!
We have had dinner at Feast a number of times now and it remains our favorite restaurant anywhere that we have lived. The food is outstanding, the service and attention to detail are excellent, and no one has ever asked me if I was "still working on" my dinner. The wine list is the best that I have seen anywhere in the US. No, they do not have a dozen vintages of Lafite. In fact they have no Lafite or other trophy wines. They also do not have popular grocery store wine brands. What they do have are hundreds of interesting wines from all over the world at wonderfully low prices. If you have any interest in having great, affordable wine with outstanding food, Feast should be your destination.
This was a great culinary experience. Unique spins on the classics, and absolutely no cutting corners on the finest ingredients. I enjoyed this so much.
The flavors at Feast are always somehow familiar while still tasting new and surprising. A more unique Tucson restaurant, Feast is always a pleasurable dining experience that sets itself apart from anything else in the area. If you're looking for a classy dish that won't break the bank, this is up there with the best mid-town has to offer.
Just wow! The food was absolutely incredible. What a great find. This is a great place for a special occasion with no pretense at all. Just great food, great service, and Euro style table seating. I sant to come back to experience the food in every season. So delicious and so geeat to find something truly different.
Our waitress Farrin checked on our diet restrictions after introducing herself. This was helpful since some of our party had lactose intolerance and nut allergies. Doug who I think i sthe owner came to our table and explained all of the offerings in great detail. The hard part was deciding on a dish. The sesame almond cauliflower pancake appetizer was delicious. The sweet garlic chili dipping sause was outstanding. I had the short rib which was very tasty. My wife and our friend had the red fish and potatoes which was also delicious. Finished off our meal with a decadent, incredible chocolate chip cookie, caramel nut torte and stout beer smores. Our waitress Farrin and Doug the owner explained all of the offerings in great detail. The food as always was amazing. One of my favorite restaurants in Tucson!
We went on a Friday night (reservation) for hubby's birthday. The hostess was lovely and greeted us right away. We were seated quickly. It did take a little bit to order drinks but the rest of the evening went well. We really enjoyed the braised short ribs and the scallops. The chorizo and manchego bread was incredible! Overall - great evening and food.
Husband had the steak and he said it was good, but didnt personally like the flavor. Steak was not overcooked and was cooked well. I had the sea bass, house salad, and sweetpotato/pumpkin soup and all were flavorful and excellently cooked. The owner, Doug, came out to greet and check in on us and he was so kind also. David was our server and was so knowledgeable and personable. Worth the money and getting a reservation!
Still great! It has been close to a year, but I will have dinner here more often. Every time I come here I think this is one of Tucson’s top chef driven menus with high quality food. So many places disappoint and I leave thinking we should have cooked at home, but this place exceeds expectations. Great service and exceptional wine selection.
One of the best restaurants in Tucson. We have visited here three times and are satisfied with all of them. The chef will change the menu every month with inventive ingredients and flavors. The chef will also visit each table and check on our needs. You can also know interesting stories of the restaurant via its mailing list.
This place is amazing! The menu changes monthly, with new dishes appearing every month. I have literally never had a meal that was less than a 8/10. The only thing I could complain about is that the food is so good that I can't decide what to order, and I probably won't be back before the menu changes again. While the menu changes, the service is consistently phenomenal. The atmosphere is romantic and intimate; if my wife and I don't feel overdress if we decide to dress up, but we also feel welcome coming in afterwork. Price wise, it's definitely a place to save for a special night out, but it's more affordable than other date night options. I definitely recommend this place, but get a sitter for the kids and other unadventurous eaters.
We went at 4pm on a Saturday. My husband ordered the duck which he really enjoyed, except for the rice. The meal overall was really refreshing. The dishes were large but I didn't feel grossly full. They change their menu monthly so don't fall in love with a dish. Prices are a bit high though. For two dishes, a beer, lavender lemonade, bread and one dessert was $75.00 before tip. If we happen to see something that looks good we might go back, but the atmosphere was a bit too pretentious. Great concept though.
2nd time at Feast and it was pretty good not great. The servers were great , the food was good. The goat and pork meatballs had a nice tomato orange sauce but the meatballs themselves were a bit dry. Red curry tart was very good, the shrimp and scallop with salsa verde and white bean cake was pretty good, the artichoke over sorrel and bib lettuce was kinda bland.
I heard and read good things about the place so I wanted to try it for our anniversary wedding. It didn't disappoint. Service was great. They answered our questions and the chef was also talking with everyone. I really liked that. The atmosphere was nice to. Not too much noise. We had a reservation at 7 pm. At that time many people was already leaving. Talking about the meal. I had a cocktail: ambassador black. It was good, not sweet as I like and kind of strong. We had the squash blossoms that were delicious (even though I'm not a fan of ricotta). The octopus was fresh and tender, really good. My husband ordered the onglet. It was good. He liked it. He really enjoyed the potato terrine. I ordered the branzino. It was excellent, really fresh. It said that it was filled with potatoes, tomatoes and olives. I found one piece of potato, one tomato and one olive. It was really good. I don't think it needed any filling but if it says "filled with" so should find more than one piece of each. Anyway it was really good and it filled me up. The desserts weren't our favorite. We ordered the pistachio custard and pavlova. Like I said it's just our taste. I read in another review that the custard is the best dessert they have tried but my husband and I didn't enjoyed. So it will depend on your taste. The pavlova was huge. It was good but nothing special for us. We'll be back? I would love too. It's a little expensive for us to come regularly but maybe for our next wedding anniversary.
Fantastic food! We tried two different appetizers (kohlrabi and squash blossoms) and both were great. For the main dishes, wr had the Chicken plate and their special which was shrimp and scallops in garlic wine sauce over couscous- delish! Dessert was lemon ice cream (🤤) and chocolate lemon cake. I can't wait to go back and try some other dishes. My only complaint is that it is a tad pricey, but that won't stop me from coming back again.
Feast has fantastic food and an excellent wine selection. Generally, the service was good, and errors were corrected, but there were three (3) fairly significant blunders--a wine selection (brought to table and said was something else--not sure what I drank, but it was good), a cocktail selection (wrong drink brought out, but replaced when we asked what it was), and a dessert was delivered to our table that we didn't order, but then picked up again and delivered to another table. Major issue was the sewage odor that permeated the front dining area. We asked to be moved to the back room, were accommodated, and enjoyed our meal.
Service was great, and food was fantastic. The squash blossom appetizers were so good. The cocktails were surprisingly flat and a bit unbalanced. Not sure if this is normal or if it was an off night since this was our first time here.
Really great meal with inventive preparations. The Chorizo bread was disappointing, as was the angel food cake, but the rest more than made up for it. The main negative is the musty smell. It smells moldy or rotten. It's the wood from the wine area. It's unappetizing.
I had heard great things about Feast. The food was pretty good (maybe the chef was having an off day), the cocktails where strong and the whole house was booked up. I did like the unique menu. I don't think that I will go back unless someone asks me to go. Didn't live up to the hype for me unfortunately
My girlfriend suggested we discover a restaurant we’d never dined before. She mentioned Feast had duck on the menu — she knows I love all things duck or goose, be it foie gras, rillettes, confit, cassoulet, or especially “magret de canard” : duck breast. I already knew what I was going to order before we got to the restaurant. Feast was busy, seemed to be a lot of regulars, many presumably retirees, probably a well-educated clientele. The place has a warm, inviting feel to it, the gentleman that greeted us kind and accommodating. They have a full bar and an impressive wine shop & list. The “Duck, duck, goose” featured a meager, undercooked magret. Due to being undercooked, the skin was hard to cut and the meat was undercooked-chewy. There is really only one way to prepare a magret: score the skin in grid fashion (quadrillé – an important step they didn’t do), grill on the skin side until the outer skin is crispy caramelized, drain excess fat, then flip over to finish cooking the meat… but here’s the catch: you want the breast to be cooked until the muscle shows its grain, but is still pink (rosé, the French verb “roser” is used to describe the proper pink cuisson). If the meat has turned grayish, it’s been overcooked: dry + tough + bland = ruined. If it’s undercooked, the problem with “sending it back” is that it will almost certainly be overcooked when it returns to your table — it doesn’t reheat well. A duck breast is not the easiest meat to cook to perfection, so I cut them some slack there. The second duck in the name referred to a paté of duck liver. Delicious, tasty, beautifully executed. As for the goose, I thought it was going to be a confit of goose, but it turned out to be soup of goose effiloché (shredded or “pulled”). In reading the menu, I misunderstood the spätzle and leeks in broth were the sides. It was good, just not what I had expected. I would have found it a reasonable price at $37 if it had been a full and properly cooked magret and with a confit d’oie instead of a soup. So… disappointed with the value for dollar ratio. My girlfriend had the salmon salad. After we left, she confided the salmon was also quite undercooked. Doesn’t really look so in the photo — looks delicious, but oh, well, everyone — even the cook — has an off night once in a while.
I had never been to Feast before despite driving by many times. A close friend chose Feast for her birthday dinner. It seems clear that Feast is trying to offer a fine dining experience. Indeed the atmosphere and service all fit that rubric. However the food was simply not worthy of the prices in my opinion. The one stand out was the lobster bread pudding which was excellent. The other main meals were simply average. The duck with pancake was bizarre tasting, the salmon with noodles quite boring and ahi tuna with rice was just plain. I had an enjoyable evening due to great company and good servers. However I left feeling the meal was a poor value considering the relatively high prices and relatively lack of deliciousness.
After hearing people rave about this place, we decided to check it out. It's a great place for wine lovers. They have an extensive wine list and are very knowledgeable. We enjoyed the dish of the day, short ribs. The short ribs were amazing. The side was actually awful. We split soup, salad, entre and desert. The portions were enough for two.
Be aware that if you book a res for 12 or more that you will get a limited menu WITHOUT pricing. The menu features 4 courses. They don't tell you this, but you can order just an entree and skip any or all of the other courses. Waitress made it seem that we had to order something from each course. We ended up paying for a lot of food that wasn't eaten. Presentation was very nice, but wasn't that tasty and arrived cold. Doubt we will return.
Came in on a Tuesday and with exception of lobster bread pudding (fantastic!), was disappointed with our meal. Risotto had consistency of a pilaf more than authentic risotto, and the aioli that smothered the top was a very off-putting color (not a looker dish at all). Duck confit flatbread was served on flatbread that wasn’t fully cooked, so dish was mushy and greens were oily. Pork tenderloin was delicious, but lentils were under seasoned, and the lentils comprised half of this entree. Tart was dressed with obviously curdled/broken whipped topping (consistency was lumpy) - when questioning server, was told it was due to ingredients (chèvre) used. If it had been isolated to just one dish, experience wouldn’t have been as disappointing. But the lack of cohesion was unfortunately consistent with entire dinner. I know this isn’t the normal standard for Feast, but was very disappointing.
Disappointing meal. For approx $60 per person, I expected better. Three of the four dishes we ate were mid. Everyone was nice, but would not go back.
Staff was very kind and atmosphere was casual and warm. The dishes were eclectic and interesting - some hit, some miss, all way over-priced to me. Glad we checked it out though.
Feast restaurant offers an intriguing concept, blending international flavors into an eclectic menu. With such variety, the potential for a unique dining experience is certainly there. The waitstaff adds a warm touch to the atmosphere; our server was friendly and attentive, which elevated the experience. However, the main draw—the food—fell short. The flat iron steak, priced at $36, was disappointing. It arrived cold, chewy, and presented with underwhelming sides—fries and unseasoned vegetables. The steak itself lacked flavor and texture, and we genuinely think it may have been boiled and then pressed on the grill just to get the grill marks. The ribs had a similar texture that we were not impressed by. Food like this demands more attention, especially at this price point. Even after kindly offering to replace it, the second steak was no better and remained inedible. It arrived so late that I finished my meal by the time my husband got his. I had the fish, it was fine, but the potatoes were a bit not fully cooked. Anyway, my husband didn’t complain further, took one bite, and just requested the check leaving the meal largely untouched. Sad story. We were very excited to find an eclectic restaurant, but after a second failed attempt at cooking the steak, what’s the point? Sadly, we won’t be returning. Feast’s concept is compelling, but until the kitchen matches the ambition, it will struggle to justify its premium prices.
My companions and I were surprised we were able to get reservations at the last minute at one of the “fine dining” restaurants in Tucson on a Friday night during the winter season. Now we know why. The food was mostly bland and tasteless. The waitress was surprisingly inattentive. But the busser did a great job keeping water glasses filled and removing plates. The food was arranged nicely. The chef…perhaps the owner, came by after we had finished and asked about the meal and it was easier to say it was fine than complain at that time since the likelihood of we returning is almost nil and it seemed pointless to get negative since, excluding the food and inattentive service, we were having a nice time. Also, the wine pour was rather skimpy compared to other fine dining in Tucson. On a positive note, the atmosphere was very nice. I would not return. I only write reviews if the places were great or poor. This place did not provide a great dining experience. But the food looked pretty.
If you like wine then I could see this being a nice spot because that's the best thing they offer. Food was not good. Our appetizer of rice dumplings with shrimp was a ball of rice and 4 shrimp. Dinner was undercooked duck for one plate and the other was a pork tenderloin I had to saw through with a knife. I think this place presents as high class due to the prices but there's no excuse for the way the food was prepared.
Ordered fried zucchini blossoms. Could not taste anything but dripping oil. Kohlrabi appetizer - my favorite vegetable. It came with weird rice cakes and strange green paste. Totally gross Main dish - soft shell crabs. It was ok if you like cream souse with lemon. I do not. Who serves cream souse with fried crab? Not any chef I know. Overall - Total disappointment. Left hungry
we made it clear to our server that someone in our party had a life threatening allergy to tree nuts, and then he was served a dish with an almond-based sauce. when we realized we needed to leave early to take him to urgent care, the restaurant still tried to charge us for all of the remaining dishes, including food we had not been served yet. when I brought this to the chef's attention, he told me he did not appreciate my tone. I am horrified by the treatment at what used to be one of my favorite restaurants.
