We went with our neighbors for Saturday brunch with an 11:30 reservation. The dining room wasn't terribly busy at that time, but filled fast. Since there were four of us, we ordered a few things to share, along with cocktails. I've read the reviews about the prices being set at a fine dining scale, while the food is anything but. The point of the restaurant is to pay homage to the flavors of Louisiana. It may not be for everyone, but it hits the mark it aims for and I respectfully disagree with those reviews. Service was prompt and friendly, with a number of people checking on us throughout the course of the meal. Christine was our server, and she was delightful. Very knowledgeable about the menu, sourcing, etc. There's nothing better than a professional server! Our order was: local green salad, beignets and ham, a side of praline bacon and whole fried chicken. I rarely rave about a salad, but this one was delicious. Crispy and fresh, with the merliton being just the right thing to put it over the top. Beignets (without the sugar, fear not) and ham consists of delicious beignets, prosciutto, Gorgonzola dolce, and a trio of sauces, honey, spicy chili crunch and persillade, a Cajon and Creole staple. Absolutely spot on. The bacon? It's praline bacon, y'all! I'm remiss with photos, but we did manage to get a picture of the fried whole chicken before it was carved. The presentation is... whimsical (see photo)... but is is deliriously tasty. The server brings it to the table whole for its photo op before it's taken to a carving station. The meat is tender and juicy, helped by a squeeze of lemon juice to really make it pop. I won't mention all the cocktails I tasted, but I will make special mention of the Lafayette Square, a delicious and aromatic cocktail with gin, St. Germain, Lillet Blanc, lemon, and orange blossom water. Kind of perfect. I am very much looking forward to going for dinner or lunch. It's a new favorite for me!

By far the best food I’ve had in New Orleans. The redfish was just out of this world. It was so good I ate so much, my BELT POPPED. My regards to chef Andrew. Dude is an absolute legend. Can’t wait to comeback and enjoy the food again. Please keep doing what you’re doing!

I have had Miss River on my list for months now; and I'm so happy with my experience, I'm already planning on returning. I walked in and immediately was sat, greeted by name, and introduced to my server, Jonny. Jonny went above and beyond to ensure I had the best working lunch possible. I ordered the red beans and rice, it also comes with fried chicken. I hate writing this out of fear my MawMaw will disown me, but they were the best red beans of my life, y'all. They were creamy, great spice level, and the rice was perfectly done, as well. I know it's Ash Wednesday, but there was a party in my mouth! Tyrone was always sure to be friendly, too, and though I didn't order a drink this time, miss Andrea was keeping the bar lively and had everyone well-hydrated! I do not have a single bad thing to say about my experience. Everything is well priced, food is served quickly, and the service was phenomenal. Go to Miss River for lunch and ask for Jonny. I'm not steering you wrong!

Amazing meal thanks to Terrance. We had made the reservations well in advance and when the time finally came we almost couldn't make it. We weren't really in the right mood for a great dinner but we went with all the recommendations Terrance made and had an extraordinary meal that completely changed our week. The space is lovely but the food, particularly the fried chicken with the red pepper flake sauce is now something that I'll crave forever. Hope to see yal again soon!

First time dining at Miss River and will definitely return. The employees were engaged and responsive. The food was a tribute to New Orleans and delicious. The owners’ passion for New Orleans and the Mississippi River is evident throughout the restaurant and the menu. Salt crusted Snapper was 10 out of 10. Baked Alaska culminated a wonderful dinner. Already booked a return evening in September

Potato sea salt roll was so soft it melted in my mouth as soon as I bit into it. It was so out of this world i would do anything to eat this again. The food, every single item ordered was top notch quality. Even plain white rice was so tasty. Definitely recommend eating here.

I hosted a family dinner here. All dishes can be shared. Their signature dish is buttermilk fried chicken, which is a whole chicken that they them cut up for you. As sides, we had jambalaya stuffed acorn squash and creamed spinach. Appetizers included a seafood assortment, a crabmeat au gratin, and homemade boudin. Everything was delicious. This is an Alon Shaya restaurant.

it was a Grand Experience, the ambience and decor were Fabulous,me and my family had gone for Thanksgiving lunch but we ordered off the regular dinner menu,i thoroughly enjoy great food and i like trying new dishes-Ms.River did not disappoint-we had sweet potato brioche, duck and andouille gumbo with jasmine rice, best stop boudin, half dozen roasted oysters, fried bone-in pork chop, redfish courtbouillon, blackened gulf snapper, clay pot dirty rice, and for dessert: butter fried beignets and big slice of chocolate doberge layer cake,we also had a few cocktails ❤️😋😋

We had an exceptional fine dining experience to celebrate our anniversary. The staff went above and beyond to ensure it was memorable. The cocktails and entrees surpassed our expectations, particularly the Redfish Courtbouillon, Red Beans & Rice, and Oyster Patty—all highly recommended. Our waitress was outstanding, adding a delightful touch to the evening. Highly recommended! Be prepared to spend a lot of money. Valet was $16 + tip. There is no nearby parking.

his was one of the most anticipated restaurant openings this year. Restaurants are still proving that even amid an ongoing pandemic, they are still driving innovation. This extravert is here for the new dishes, expanding my wine vocabulary and seeing amazing views. Ok, so review time! My visit to Miss River inside Four Seasons New Orleans was nothing short of incredible. I absolutely loved the Food Stage where chefs extravagantly plate our signature dishes. Very attentive service was paid to us! The server brought wine to the table on a few occasions The whole covered buttermilk fried chicken was sumptuous and plush. It was served with dipping sauces. This dish was my favorite Other dishes we enjoyed: Crab Au Gratin Gumbo Red beans Salad Cake with a sparkler was the absolute best..I would get any cake on the menu My overall review of Alon Shaya’s love letter to LOUISIANA is a welcome addition to the New Orleans area. My vote is it is the hottest and most luxurious restaurant on the scene now! Photo by: Katherine Kimball Insider tip: Book your reservations online ASAP.

If you are in NOLA you must dine at Miss River! You will be greeted and seated without any long waiting, best French 75 is served here. Oyster soup is the best in town and the whole snapper is so fresh and delicious! Thank you Luis, Andrea, Sara and all the staff! You are the best!

Food and service was phenomenal - our group ended the meal asking each other when we wanted to go back. Not a weak point in the whole meal and great portions. Loved the vibe of the room too, especially the old mirrors. Top to bottom a meal to remember!

Our favorite restaurant when staying at the Four Seasons in NOLA. From their delicious sweet potato rolls to their beignets… just untouchable flavor. My husband had the red fish this time and I enjoyed the filet torpedoes… holy moly! You can’t go wrong with anything you order here. Thank you for such a wonderful experience.

Seriously, probably the best dining experience I have had in awhile and that was lunch. I cannot wait for dinner. Colleague and I went for holiday lunch and in a word....PHENOMENAL. Apart from the hefty price tag, I cannot understand the low star reviews....perhaps bsh group shedding salty tears because this is LA elevated cooking and beyond. We had the blue crab gratin....cream over cheese in all the good ways with delicious buttery crackers made in house I'm sure. Next was salad giardinara wedge with parmesan and deliciousness plated as a split between us. Partner had the oyster poboy that was generous and overflowing. I had the soft shell crab blt which was a transformative experience. The toast was a mere vehicle for all the grilled buttery goodness pillowing the juiciest of crab. Slab if bacon, aoili, magic. We both had truffle fries which ...do not pass up the truffle shavings. O.m.g. I can't even. We were both bursting at the seams with half sandwiches but couldn't pass up the baked Alaska for four ...I mean 2. It was huge yall. This was not fine dining portions for the weak of heart. My only [only] complaint was the price tag. I mean $60 for a fried chicken? Sixty dollars????? I don't care how many dipping sauces or whether that chicken is the prodigal son of KFC himself. It's a chicken. I can get 100 pcs at mchardys for that and call it a day. Still. I cannot wait to go back. Get the old fashioned. Trust me.

Miss River is located inside of Four Seasons. Vallet parking is available. Four Seasons is a beautiful hotel. The restaurant was really nice and clean. Friendly Staff. The food was ok. The Truffle fries were amazing. (Extra $35 for truffle). We were celebrating an anniversary, so I did expect a dessert, candle....ect, not even a happy Anniversary.

We had a beautiful meal- the food, service, and ambiance on Christmas Day were impeccable and exactly at the level you expect from a Four Seasons and any fine dining restaurant. The foh and boh teams here are doing an incredible job. It was well worth the price point. Every dish was mind blowing except the Crudo- it was still delicious but maybe lacking a bit of acid. The duck clay pot rice, bbq gulf prawns, crab gnocchi, and fried pork chop were incredible entrees that we consider highlights of our week long trip to New Orleans. The gnocchi was so good my partner who typically doesn’t prefer Italian food still talks about it. My favorites were the pork chop and clay pot rice. Thank you for hosting us on Christmas and cementing a new holiday tradition for my partner and I!

We come to New Orleans every year for an extended stay and planning out where we are going to eat is a huge part of the trip. I am a huge Alon Shaya fans and have followed him from Shaya to Saba and beyond. I LOVED this restaurant. Everything we had was so delicious from the sweet potato brioche and the blue crab dip all the way to the complimentary pralines. (We were too stuffed for a proper dessert but rest assured, we are coming back for the fried beignets) Our server, Johnny was delightful; the perfect combo of professionalism and southern charm. If this is Chef Alon's love letter to Louisiana, I am thrilled we had the chance to go through his mail:)

Miss River is fantastic. They have a great menu. I had the Four Decades, which is a margarita, the Louisiana BBQ shrimp, and the vegetable curry with blackened shrimp. We got the Fried Chicken for the table. The seasoning and crust were amazing. Some people in my party had the Pork Chop, a mushroom dish, redfish, collards and hammock, and Emily's red beans and rice. For dessert, you must try the beignets. They also give you some banana foster and chocolate pralines. Yummy 😋

Great restaurant inside the Four Seasons. I went for Sunday brunch and it was definitely a 5-star experience. There’s a live band and the noise level is a 5/5 so don’t expect an intimate quiet conversation. There isn’t anywhere to wait for a table other than the bar or beyond the doors standing in the hotel. Parking is validated. Shrimp and grits were good and fish was seasoned well. The bread and butter left something to be desired but it’s good that you won’t fill up on it. Drinks are generous on the alcohol. The bacon was literally a piece of candy it was so candied.

Absolutely one of the finest restaurants in New Orleans. Our 1st time and definitely not our last. Outstanding service and food. Started with the sweet potato muffins with a variety of toppings. I opted for the Oyster stew which was the best I've ever had. My wife had the crab maison salad. We shared the enormous muffaletta sandwich with truffle fries which was the best decision. Way too much for one person.

Had lunch at Miss River with a friend for his birthday. The service was impeccable and the food was very good. This is a truly good restaurant with excellent cocktails and a good wine list. It would be very difficult to rate them anything but five. We really like this place, a very nice place to dine.

I came here for my birthday brunch and I loved it! The service was top notch and the food was great! I did a large party brunch so of course my entire party wasn't there when I arrived lol. At first, they told me and my friend we couldn't sit until our entire party arrived so we went and got drinks at the chandelier bar. However, a few minutes later we were told we could come and the bartender actually comped our drinks when he heard it was my birthday. So sweet. With the large party brunch there is an $85 pp pre fixed menu. This includes 1 cocktail, 1 appetizer and 1 entree. They were out of boudin which was a slight bummer. Most of us got the flaming espresso martini which includes a table side presentation that is fun. I got the oyster patty and the pain perdue which were both delicious. For dessert I ordered a cake but Michael also gave me beignets on the house. So so sweet! Everything was delicious and Michael was an absolute gem!

Fantastic service brunch was amazing everything tasted great and the ham and beignets were a stand out item. The gumbo was also excellent and the attention to detail was fantastic from presentation to taste everything was phenomenal. Drinks were excellent as well and service is great. We went on a Wednesday morning/afternoon so the restaurant was not busy. Beautiful restaurant. With drinks and entree and dessert per person it was about $70.

First time dining at Miss River. Heard rave reviews about the fried chicken. It did not disappoint. Our server Lillian was a pleasure and understands the definition of delivering exceptional Four Seasons style service. The drinks were on point and the baked Alaska was wonderful!

The bartender who wrote the drink 🍹 menu is EVERYTHING!!! I tried the pink squirrel, which is his grandmother’s old recipe, and it was great!!! Make sure you have the bread. It’s a sweet potato bread that’s absolutely delicious. I’ve even had breakfast here and it was absolutely delicious. For the Sunday brunch they really should have a smooth, jazz band to play I make the seating, more aesthetically pleasing. This is one of my favorite places to dine.

Our waiter was spectacular from the beginning. We walked in and ordered the entire menu with one exception and he had the food flowing at the perfect rate along with drinks suggestions. Every dish was enjoyed by all three of us. This is definitely somewhere. We will visit again each time we are home. Thank you for the experience!

Elevated southern cuisine at the Four Seasons New Orleans. Can't go wrong, right? We had the oysters en brochette and the fried chicken to share with the crab boiled smashed potatoes. Everything was great but the chicken was the star of the show, it was crispy and juicy and seasoned perfectly. Our server was attentive and friendly, and the atmosphere was nice and quiet. This place was suggested by a friend, I definitely owe her a favor now.

I came with high expectations, as I love Chef Alon’s other restaurants, and I was not disappointed. We ordered the whole fried chicken and 2 was perfect. Juicy, and delicious. The cocktails were also creative and beautifully complex. Our server Malik was wonderful, and took very good care of us.

We were advised by a local that Miss River was a must do for dinner. We were surprised, given the name, that we were not able to see the Riverfront. Nonetheless, the atmosphere was very nice. Our server was very knowledgeable regarding the menu and the local history. We had crab cakes, chicken Cesar salad, and blackened fish: all of it was delicious. We would definitely go again.

This is one of the best sit down dinners I have ever had in New Orleans. I work offshore and this was the first meal I've had off of my ship in over a month and half. I was greeted with kindness at the front door and the service was 10/10. I had a couple cocktails, warm rolls, wood fired oysters, soup, espresso, and a slice of cake. This meal hit me in my soul. I would love to come back for dinner and bring family/ friends.

Enjoyed a fabulous girls lunch at Miss River. From the moment you walk inside this gorgeous restaurant you know it is special. The decor and design are absolutely stunning! Black and white marble, opulent fixtures and furnishings perfectly curated for a wonderful dining experience. The staff; Michael G, Dantrelle, Kirsten and Bianca worked together to make sure we were taken care of. Michael was very knowledgeable regarding the menu and drink options. We enjoyed a seasonal 4 course Mardi Gras menu meant for table sharing. Each course was not only delicious but beautifully presented and perfectly served. Miss River is a must stop while in New Orleans!

I got to dine here last night for dinner and everything was amazing! Our server, Matt, gave the best menu recommendations, and was super attentive. Truly great service! I enjoyed the Sweet Potato Brioche and BBQ Shrimp for starters and they were 10/10. The star of the show was the Redfish Courtbouillon. Rich, flavorful and cooked to perfection! The bartender was awesome too, creating some of the best signature cocktails for us. I will definitely be back to try one of the decadent desserts!

My sisters, niece and I took a quick trip to New Orleans this week and ended our wonderful trip with a lunch at Miss Rivers restaurant. The food exceeded our expectations and the service was exemplary. Your entire staff treated us like royalty. We started with champagne and ordered the four course Carnivale meal. Michael G’s knowledge and professionalism was top notch along with Dantrelle who was very friendly and helpful. Kirsten welcomed us with open arms and Bianca assisted with wonderful spritz drinks with mint. Beautiful people and wonderful food and drinks. What more could you ask for? Two of us were visiting from Indiana and two from the panhandle of Florida. I can guarantee we will let all of our friends know that this was the best food and service experience we encountered in New Orleans. Thank you Miss Rivers. We will be back for more.

Miss River, located in the Four Seasons New Orleans, delivers an elegant yet approachable dining experience with bold Louisiana flavors. The ambiance is chic, service is attentive, and signature dishes like the duck and andouille gumbo and fried chicken are standouts. A perfect spot for indulgent Southern cuisine with a refined twist.

We ate two meals here during our stay at the Four Seasons. We had one lunch and one brunch. Both truly fantastic. We would absolutely come back! Don’t miss the brunch fixed meal option. The sweet potato brioche was melt in the mouth.

Our private event dining at Miss River was first class from the servers to the food. I just can't say enough about Ashley Dela Cruz she is great at what she does and our food was amazing we ordered a little bit of everything of our party of 11 including deserts. Highly recommend!

Beautiful venue. The dinner rolls are the most delicious rolls that I have ever had. The pork chop was so large that I was able to share it with my friends. It was delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for great food and service with a smile. The wait staff was very knowledgeable and helpful with selections.

Excellent restaurant. Am planning to return tomorrow! Service was superb. I went for a Saturday night dinner. All food that I ordered was delicious and warm! I ordered a caesar salad, sweet potato brioche bread, fried pork chop, creamed spinach and red beans and rice. Drinks were also tasty. Do not skip the carbs here! Very impressed with the food quality and friendly staff.

Had really amazing service. Brian the bartender remembered our favorite dessert from 2 years ago! Sam was very attentive and welcoming. Even the GM Blake introduced himself and made sure our food was perfect. I do wish the Claypot Dirty Rice still had slices of duck on top, but it was still really good. And hats off to pastry for cooking a perfect Bread Pudding!

Our server Malik and the manager, a gentleman from South Africa(sorry I didn't get your name) went above and beyond for us(3) on NYE. Our celebration was unforgettable because of these two men. Thank you for your excellent service and kudos to the chef.

The food is sinfully good! I visited this restaurant several times during my stay at the Four Seasons NOLA. It had been nearly 40 years since I visited Louisiana, my birth state, and I spurgled on all things comfort food. With dishes this good, why leave the hotel?! The gumbo, boudin, blackened snapper, and biscuits and gravy were just what the doctor ordered.

Nice restaurant, staff was very friendly and helpful, very attentive to the customers. I had the duck and andouille sausage gumbo really good and flavorful, also had the red beans and rice with fried chicken it was just as good, chicken was cooked well very juicy and flavorful with well spiced crust. And the bread pudding is pretty darn good too. Atmosphere was good felt like a bistro vibe very enjoyable. The only bad thing was no sweet tea. Yes, I will be back when in the area.

The food was outstanding. We had delicious gumbo, biscuits and the whole fried chicken. Portions were generous, food well made. Topped off our meal with baked Alaska. True gem of the whole evening was our waitress Laquisha (Q) who went above and beyond and made our dinner a truly special experience.

Miss River, located inside the Four Seasons New Orleans, was such a great dining experience for our family of four! The restaurant is beautiful and elegant, yet still welcoming. They easily accommodated us and our two girls, who loved how “fancy” it felt. Our server, Matt, was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. He made great recommendations and really added to our experience. We started with the sweet potato brioche, and it was absolutely incredible - soft, warm, and melt-in-your-mouth good. The butter they served with it complemented it perfectly! I ordered the New York strip, and it was simply amazing - one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. My husband got the redfish courtbouillon and really enjoyed it as well. Everything from the service to the food was top-notch. We’d definitely come back the next time we’re in New Orleans!

Super Drinks, leckere Austern. Allerdings teuer. Schöne Gartenterrasse, leider etwas laute Musik. Sollte wohl den Baustellenlärm übertönen.

Went there today for brunch, the food was good but service not so much. Chanel was helping with our section, she was very nice and checked on us. Our main server was Alice T, I wish I had a better experience with her, she did not smile, introduce herself, review the menu, and maybe spoke to us two times, when we placed our order and when we got the bill. I did not feel welcomed by her. We got the chicken to split, it was delicious and juicy! It came with sauces, not sure what they were because Alice didn’t tell us, just placed it in front of us and left, they were ok, some sort of honey. I don’t mind spending a lot for good food, but I do feel that the service should match. For a restaurant in the Four Seasons, I expect better service than Waffle House.

L

My colleague and I wanted to stop here for a drink and appetizer, which turned into a 2+ hour dinner. The cocktails were amazing! We unexpectedly loved the matcha ginger cocktail, since it’s a unconventional combination but so refreshing. For dessert, we ordered the flaming espresso martini, which is one of the best I’ve had. Our favorites are the blue crab au gratin and the heirloom tomato, peach and goat cheese salad. We also ordered the gumbo and clay pot dirty rice - the gumbo was ok, just very rich. The dirty rice is an interesting fusion dish which was good but wished the rice crisped on the bottom more. Overall a great experience and would definitely come back!

I've been to NOLA Four Seasons several times as business trip, then visited this restaurant on the 1st floor of the hotel. atmosphere is luxurious, and also food + service are great. this is great for lunch and dinner!

C

The food is beautifully plated and presented.. However for the price, there are far better restaurants in the city. The chandelier bar is a beautiful location to hang out and enjoy great beverages. Perhaps the most amazing part of visiting the 4 seasons is the staff! Without exception every one of the people I interacted with was was excited to be working there and greeted you warmly and earnestly

The meal was quite enjoyable. We started with two delicious vegan salads, followed by a flavorful vegan curry for the main course. Both dishes were tasteful, and the service was exceptional. However, I found the price of $22 for just three salad leaves and half an avocado to be a bit steep. Both atmosphere and interior design were enjoyable, making it an ideal spot for a date.

W
Weston Corbin

The location is beautiful. The space is very well appointed, and being in the Four Seasons makes it feel super fancy. The food, however, was average, I felt like. For the prices that were commanded, I would have expected a much better product. Nothing was really wrong with the food, but nothing really stood out about it either.

D
Despoina Lewis

The atmosphere was great! The waitress was so friendly and polite and suggested us some food that we liked. The food was ok but nothing to impressing us. We loved the crab.

S
Sue Hamilton

The restaurant is gorgeous and I've been wanting to come here. We live in Atlanta but really love the other restaurant by the chef owner. I can't put my finger on it but there are spices used in the cook that do not agree with my palette. Everything is cooked well. The seafood plateau was really beautiful and I liked the oysters, crab salads, but did not care for the spices in the shrimp or crab claws. The oyster patty was comfort food brought to fine dining. Loved it. The sweet potato rolls were incredible. The fried chicken and dirty rice both were cooked well but had spices I did not love. The mushroom casserole was good but the sauce felt thinner than i was expecting. I would go back again as I had really highly anticipated eating here. I think I'll make sure that I talk to the server a bit more about the spices used and navigate a different food path.

Our first time in New Orleans and we were not sure what to eat . We found this right around the corner so figured to try it. It’s inside the hotel and it was very fancy. They gave us our menu and there are a few options. The food was good but It wasn’t my favorite. The staff was very friendly and our host was great ! She gets a 10/10 for how friendly she was. It was a bit pricey for what we are used to but cute restaurant.

Crab roll was yummy, although very small, about half the size of a New England lobster roll. Wine list selection is great but geez the upcharge. One glass here was near equal to the full bottle charge at Total Wine. Service was great.

Service great and everyone is kind. Gumbo roux was too dark. Hopefully management will see about fixing that. Fried chicken seasoned good but not over seasoned. Very nice atmosphere

First things first- Love Chef Shaya, however… Extremely expensive, Over priced and Extremely loud. Beautiful place, but the atmosphere was lost on the huge open concept and noise. You could barely cary on a conversation. The food was hit or miss… the chargrilled Oysters were excellent as well the Redfish Courtbouillon- Stewed with Oysters, Crab, Shrimp, and The Holy Trinity. The Filet Mignon, however was over cooked. Great wine and cocktail list, but pricey. Our meal was $100+ a piece as well as a $37 charge to valet park at the Four Seasons just for dinner.

Amazing space and atmosphere with okay food that was way too expensive. We got the barbeque shrimp, gumbo, vegetable curry with rice, and the whole fish. The only thing that was amazing was the gumbo. The shrimp were good, but there's better elsewhere in New Orleans for cheaper. The curry was fine. The fish was visually amazing but ended up tasting salty without much other flavor. Cocktails were fine. Wine was a pretty good selection but very overpriced. I didn't hate any of the food, but for the price I was disappointed. I love saba so I was looking forward to go here. Overall disappointing.

Christmas in New Orleans had been a dream of mine for a very long time, and the Four Seasons delivered in a big way. We secured reservations at Miss River for Christmas dinner as well as to celebrate my husbands birthday. The hostess was very nice, we were seated promptly and greeted by the assistant manager. It's a very loud and crowded space, not the greatest ambience but we were just so thrilled to be there it hardly mattered. We ordered cocktails, bread service, and two Reveillon dinners. The Tuna Crudo and Oysters were delicious. The Turtle Soup was good, if a little boring. The Duck was outstanding, and the snapper very nice. As the meal progressed we began to feel as if we were a burden on the staff. Even though we were seated touching one of the point of sale computers, we were pointedly ignored. Our cocktail glasses were cleared with no opportunity to order a second round. The couple seated 12 inches to my left, who ordered the exact same thing, was fawned over and offered replacement dishes that were not included on the Reveillon menu so they didn't double up on menu items. When it came time for dessert we only received one bread pudding. Which in itself is fine, we didn't need more than that, but the Reveillon menu included four courses at a per person rate. That being the fourth course, we paid for and should have received a second dessert. Of course the couple next to us did, and got to try something off the regular menu instead of the Reveillon option. When asked if we were ready to check out, I asked the waitress to wait a moment and asked my husband if he'd like to try a scotch that we had been eyeing. She could have upsold us big time, but when he gave a non-committal 'eh' because he was already irritated at the experience, she printed the check and dropped it without a word. We are always incredibly grateful to staff that work the holidays and tip exorbitantly to compensate. I couldn't justify that here. All in all, it was a NICE experience. But given what we paid I expected better. Given it was Christmas Dinner I expected better. We were dressed to the nines, ready to be shown a good time, but instead we were hustled in and out like the drive-thru at a McDonald's. This reservation was made by the concierge at Four Seasons - the same concierge who had a birthday cake waiting in our room for my husband. I find it hard to believe there was not a note with that reservation that this was a birthday dinner. I didn't expect something for free, but some acknowledgement of the occasion was absolutely expected. Instead we were made to feel less-than.

All of the food was very good, from presentation to finishing taste on the palate I thoroughly enjoyed the meal. I would expect nothing less from Chef Alon Shaya… I was disappointed in the serving size associated with the cost of each dish. I don’t mind paying a premium price for exceptional food, however a tasting portion of red beans and rice with small bone in fried chicken breast shouldn’t cost as much as a cut of prime beef offered down the street! Our server was rude with no personality whatsoever. She did not manage her tables very well and took way too long to bring drinks. The fact that I was hit with automatic 20% gratuity really turned me off. The atmosphere was nice, the back waiters were friendly and efficient. I would recommend this restaurant to others, but with a warning on price a service. *Proper table service is hard to come by these days.

I had dinner here this past Friday. My wife and I asked the hostess for a table and were told it would be 10 minutes. We provided her with our phone number and she said she would call. We waited in the hotel lobby for approximately 15 minutes, to the point that the Four Seasons General manager came up to us and asked if we were okay or needed help. We only saw a few groups go into the restaurant. We went back to the hostess and she acted like she had never seen us before. When we asked if a table was available, there was one and we were taken back. Despite the restaurant being over halfway empty, we were taken to the table furthest back in a corner. Once seated, our waitress was great and the food was delicious. I would recommend it based on the food but the hostess did a great job of making my wife and I feel unwelcome. We only chose it because we were staying at the hotel and it was convenient but we would never go out of our way to dine there again.

If you are looking for an elegant, well organized, manicured, professional service with impeccable food, this is not it! The server’s jacket did not fit him and his pants were way too large, almost looked comical although he did a descent job. Fake plants everywhere, exposed extension cords against the walls. The shrimp cocktail was dried up and the crab claws were aweful with 1/3 of them had the claw only and no meat. The prices were outrageous for bad food, but would have been fine otherwise. Wine by the glass selection was average and well overpriced. The general feel of the place is nice, excellent location and the setting is very nice. I will not likely return! I have to say that it was Lundi gras and people were all over the place.

Not what I would have expected from a James Baird Award winning chef. Service was good, although the waiter spent too much time memorizing his pitch and speaking insanely fast. Atmosphere is what you would expect inside a Four Seasons Hotel. The big disappointment was the food. Don't get me wrong, it was not inedible, but it was far from great and what you would expect based on the chef's credentials and the menu pricing. Broken down: The redfish courtbouillon was a huge disappointment as it appeared to be a tiny portion of redfish baked with a few small oysters, shrimp, and cherry tomatoes in a tomato based sauce with significant spice. I could have whipped this up at home in just a few short minutes. The bread rolls were outstanding as was the blue crab appetizer (but what's with saltines as a vessel, surely there is a better choice), the BBQ shrimp appetizer was served in a shallow rue and was overcooked and rubbery, the fried pork chop was a premium cut but ruined by being either pan fried or deep fried using a simple flour mixture (Think roadside diner), and the spinach side was overly drenched in a mushroom sauce to the point where you couldn't taste the spinach. French fries were hot, crispy, and tasty. Overall, this restaurant is significantly overrated.

We went for the Reveillon dinner and were very disappointed. The staff was wonderful. The food was not. My flounder was decidedly not fresh and was sent back. There was a mishmash of ingredients in some of the other courses. Raw green beans with the tuna carpaccio. Tasteless stuffing with the quail. The rum cake dessert had no flavor.

We visited Miss River for brunch while in New Orleans. The food was just okay overall, though there were a couple of standouts. The blue crab dip was excellent, and the red beans and rice were flavorful and well done. Unfortunately, the service was very disappointing and really took away from the experience. It took about 30 minutes for everyone at our table to receive their drinks, and longer for our order to be taken. This is not the level of service I would expect from a restaurant of this caliber. While some of the food was enjoyable, the poor service made this brunch experience underwhelming.

Two stars because priced like fine dining, but Not fine dining!! This review will sound like ‘first world problems’ but here goes… Beautiful ambiance, lighting, decor, etc. Restaurant was less than half full on a Friday night when we dined at 8:30; most tables were empty. Service was not good… we were never ‘sold’ on anything or got a full explanation of any dish, we did not experience the typical warm welcome in a fine restaurant, we did not hear about restaurant features like the plating stage unless we asked, we had to ask if there was a sommelier and if he could come recommend wine(he was great!), etc. We felt rushed by our waitress. We were told the snapper was out when we ordered it, and lo and behold a table nearby who was seated after us had snapper served to them. Everyone is dressed nicely but otherwise the service is just like an Applebee’s or any other average hotel restaurant. Cocktails were great. Food was just fine. Appetizers made our meal- Crab au gratin is delicious. We also had BBQ shrimp. Entrees were somewhat bland… we had the red fish which was fishy and still had the bloodline in it. We also had the mushroom casserole, which despite all the black truffles was bland and needed some salt or something. To quote my fiancé ‘That was the worst dish I have ever ordered at a nice restaurant.’ The home made ice cream was 10/10! Finally, since it was the first two weeks of opening you would think someone from the kitchen would have come to check on us. No one ever did… Not even a manager. So that is an area for improvement as well. We would not recommend this restaurant to friends traveling into NOLA over other NOLA classics like Commanders or Antoines. Chandelier bar is definitely worth the stop, but for anyone wanting to eat Chef Shaya’s food we would recommend Saba over Miss River. We don’t plan on returning to eat here.

Service: There seemed to be some fundamental error with management, because we had six different people working on our table who were unable to communicate with each other. The wrong food order was delivered to our table several times and the person running our food had no idea who got what, so they just randomly gave people things they didn’t order. Everyone was trying their best and kind, but the issues they were having made for an unpleasant dining experience. Food: Good food is hot and fresh and the food was served warm, but not hot. The gumbo had the potential to be incredible but it was just past the point of perfect so that the roux was bitter. The blackened snapper was over cooked, dry, and chewy. The green curry was overly sweet and creamy, and wasn’t spicy - I’m not sure you should call that curry. The collard greens were over cooked and tasteless. Although the food is served on decent china, the only visually interesting dish was the pirogue, which presented with over cooked shrimp and an underwhelming sauce. With such a small menu it is important to execute well and when the star of your dish is seafood, it should be cooked to perfection and served fresh which wasn’t our experience. The stunning menu has great potential but unfortunately does not deliver. Overall: This restaurant presents itself as luxurious but the dining experience for us was stressful and uncoordinated. They’ve tried to create an intimate setting but the acoustics don’t work and it was too loud to hear anyone other than the person directly next to me. Would not recommend.

They offer several species of oysters, we got a dozen of the local, LA variety and they were pretty small. What was disappointing is they refused to seat us anywhere but the oyster bar while the dining room was nearly empty. They cited reservations, but they never filled those tables. We confronted them about it before we exited and they argued and eventually said ‘..sorry’. It was disruptive to have our conversation interrupted from behind us by hands/ plates in our faces. For the four seasons it was baseless and beneath them.

We picked Miss River for brunch based on the recommendation in Eater. We were confident that even if the food was ok, we would get great service and have an enjoyable Sunday afternoon. We were wrong. We arrived for our 12:15 reservation and were seated pretty quickly. It was 12:30 before we got any attention, and we were able to get our food and drink orders in. Our food came after a reasonable time. At that time, we had to remind the servers that we were still waiting for our drinks. Finally our drinks arrived half way into our food. The bread we ordered never came, but was included in our bill - the bill was corrected after we pointed it out. On top of that, the place was uncomfortably warm when we arrived. Only about halfway into our visit, it started cooling off. On the positive side, the overall ambiance including the live music and the food was good. We are hoping that this was an exception rather than the general rule, but we were really disappointed with the overall experience, especially after getting a lot of great service and food across New Orleans during the long weekend we were there.

Waited 45 minutes for food to arrive to the table. . The biscuits were entirely white and the bacon white on one side (I did aak for well done) and my eggs were overcooked. The Bloody Mary mix was good! The waiter was attentive.

Thanksgiving dinner was completely underwhelming. I believe the chef has checked out or was never there to begin with. The bread was the best part of the meal, and that right there says a lot. The menu was limited and lacked anything that was calling out to me that I must try this. The Gumbo appetizer was sufficient but nothing you couldn’t get anywhere else in New Orleans. Had the whole fried chicken with the oyster stuffing for my main. The chicken is all flash and no substance. It was cooked decent, it was still juicy but the flavors or I should say the lack of flavor was surprising. I’ve had better fried chicken in a grocery store in Wisconsin. The stuffing was very good but portion size was one person not really shareable as one might have thought. The service was very good but to the level of expectation. I found very little to no value in the dinning experience. As someone who was involved I. Restaurants for two decades I would not recommend.

Disappointing Brunch Experience My friends and I came to Miss River for brunch expecting a high-end experience, but unfortunately, the visit left a lot to be desired. I opted to order a la carte from the $95 brunch special instead of going with the full set menu. I chose the shrimp and grits—no price was listed, and no one informed me of the cost ahead of time. When the bill arrived, I was shocked to see I had been charged $80 just for that one dish. If I had known it would cost nearly the same as the full brunch, I would’ve just gone with the full course menu. To make matters worse, I initially ordered the filet mignon tournedos (also a la carte) but received an entirely different dish. While the server was polite, the mistake wasn’t handled well. No one asked what I had actually ordered after the incorrect dish was brought out, so I sat there waiting for a replacement that never came. In the end, I asked for the item to be removed from the bill and left without ever receiving an entrée. My friend also ordered the filet tournedos, and her potatoes came out cold. At least that was acknowledged and taken off the bill, but it makes me wonder—if we hadn’t spoken up, would we have both been charged $80 for these a la carte items? Tip for future diners: Be sure to ask for the full prices of any individual items off the brunch special. None of them are listed, and you may be surprised when the bill comes. I want to emphasize that I wasn’t trying to be a burden to the staff. I stayed calm and kind throughout the meal because we were there to celebrate a friend and I didn’t want to make the experience uncomfortable. But I do wish the communication and service had been better. The ambiance was lovely, and the decor is beautiful, but the food didn’t live up to its price point. While staff were friendly, the service felt scattered—likely due to how busy it was. Lastly, I was disappointed to see a valet tip charge added to my card without authorization. Which I do not think is acceptable, and it added to an already frustrating experience. All in all, for a restaurant with such a luxurious image, the execution fell flat. Sadly, I won’t be returning.

Very disappointed in our experience at Miss River. We were expecting a level of food and service that reflects the Four Seasons and the price tag. It was a comedy of errors. We had not one waiter but 2 or 3 "runners" and a manager serving us. We got the appetizers before we got cocktails. Had to ask 3 times for our drinks. The bartender did not know what a Colorado Bulldog was. I get that but figure it out. She asked me how to make it. When I got it, she said this is the best we could do. It was just ok. The fired shrimp on the skillet had absolutely no flavor. And the rest of the meal was very basic. The manager that was waiting on us, sort of, decided that reciting the dessert menu in great detail before we got our entrees was appropriate. It was a cluster all the way around. We were laughing at how sub par it was. Then we got to pay a $500 tab for borderline edible food and horrible service. They were friendly, but incompetent. Won't ever go again and may rethink ever going to a Four Seasons establishment again. Very dissatisfied.

The food here was honestly good, which makes the overall experience even more disappointing. From the moment we walked in, the service was poor. We were not greeted warmly, and it took an unreasonable amount of time before anyone acknowledged us. We didn’t receive menus or drinks in a timely manner, and it felt as though we were being overlooked — almost as if we weren’t valued as guests. A manager eventually had to step in and handle our table for the remainder of the evening, which says a lot about the lack of attentiveness from the staff. To top it off, we were served the wrong wine, and when we looked it up afterward, we realized we had been given a significantly cheaper option than what we ordered. That is unacceptable. No guest should ever feel unwelcome or undervalued when dining out, regardless of who they are. I hope management takes this feedback seriously, because the kitchen is putting out great food that deserves much better front-of-house service.

Had dinner last Saturday night with a friend. Was so excited to try as I love Chenin! After 25 minutes of waiting for a drink i asked if it would be much longer and was told very rudely, she was waiting on the bar. We were then advised again the Reveillon menu, which I found odd. We decided to try it anyway and quickly realized why. Worst turtle soup we ever had, entrees were both terrible and then we were brought a dessert to split! Actually called the next day to let someone know how poor the experience was and I was offered a bottle of wine the next time I came in to dine!! Manager even acknowledged they had several complaints about the menu and planned on changing it for the new year. Don’t waste your time on this place.

Boy what a massive disappointment. Had high expectations considering it is a Shaya restaurant at the Four Seasons. After this dining experience my assumption is that the Shaya group has very little to actually do with this restaurant. I cannot point to a single thing this restaurant does well. It started off poorly when they were 30 minutes behind schedule to seat us. Then as e we walked in we overheard another diner speaking to the staff requesting to speak to the manager. We joked about maybe we should just leave. Wish we had. Once we sat down 30 minutes after our reservation we saw our server for about 2 minutes and then nothing for 30 minutes. It’s now 1 hour after our reservation time and we don’t even have bread on the table. Once we reminded the staff about that it came out quickly but we didn’t get plates for another 20 minutes. This was our 10th year doing a Reveillon dinner with our close group of friends and this was by far the worst experience. The first course wasn’t terrible but not memorable either. The best thing I can remember about it was someone saying the sauce was “pretty good but not as good as Cane’s sauce”. The second course things got worse. Either some lettuce with a sprinkling or mushrooms or turtle chili. They called it soup but it was lukewarm chili. No sherry brought to the table either. The main course things didn’t get better. My duck course was overcooked and the only knife I had to use was my dirty butter knife from earlier in the evening. Our server wasn’t terrible but not good either. Seemed like they did not have enough staff which is unacceptable for a meal that costs $200/person (included a mediocre wine pairing). There is no way I could recommend this place to anyone. What a waste of time and money. I usually don’t leave reviews but I’m honestly mad. I feel like I was robbed.

The blue crab au gratin was bland, and very small portion for $61. The oxtail yakamein we took to go and I wish we would've looked at the container 1st cause it was again a very small portion for $31. The place is dated and the furniture had stains all on it. Very high priced and food is all bland! We won't be back

Our first night of vacation was a big miss. After looking at the menu on the website, we were excited to try some of the items we saw. Once we were seated and asked our server, we were told that those items haven't been on the menu for a very long time. Seems strange that this type of restaurant wouldn't keep things updated. Our food was extremely salty, bordering on inedible but the most disturbing and annoying situation was when a couple was seated next to us who had brought a dog into the restaurant, took it out of its carrier and proceeded to pass it back and forth across the table while it was licking the plates. They even asked for a bowl of water for the dog which the manager brought over. We were never asked if we were allergic or uncomfortable around dogs. We ended up cutting our meal short and proceeded to pay a ridiculously large bill. When we expressed our displeasure with the experience the the manager, he told us that it was a service dog. He offered to adjust our check if we had not paid yet. Obviously, since we were leaving, we had already paid our check. What an extreme disappointment on our first night of vacation.

While I would love to leave a better review based off the food, which is phenomenal, the service was so lacking and so poor, I cannot recommend someone coming here. I have dined here before and had a great experience, but my most recent visit was truly shocking. Considering the price point of the food and the location in the gorgeous Four Seasons, we expected to be served with any level of speed and genuine care. We felt ignored all night, had to request to order multiple times, waited over 20 minutes for our drinks to be brought, and were sat in the wine nook while every single staff member walked around us and ignored us as well. The food is truly outstanding but the poor service makes this place a miss which is truly saddening. For a city like New Orleans where the fine dining options are aplenty, this is a place to skip as the value of the food does not match the value of the service. Truly a shame as the chefs of this restaurant are some of our favorites, the wait staff has left a sour taste in our mouths and made this a place not worth the trip or the hassle to feel like a nuisance to the staff when you are spending upwards of hundreds of dollars on a single meal. Our dollars are much better spent at any other restaurant in the city with so much wonderful food. Truly heartbroken to write this review.

Tourist trap! Date night we went Sunday right after they opened at 5 PM. They only had three couples inside. There was a bunch of food under the table next to us from the night before looked disgusting. The waiters didn’t clean the rice and food. We had on the table when we finished eating, they were just asking if we wanna buy more drinks. We had two more drinks and nobody cleaned the table. The food was very little. It tasted good except for my appetizer , we Had to stop on our way home to eat in another place because we were still hungry My fish loocked like an appetizer. My appetizer was warm bread slice with some dry mushrooms on top of it, my girlfriend liked her oysters. We’re locals and don’t recommend. Average dinner with LA Nobu prices.

I must express my profound dissatisfaction with my recent dining experience, which I consider to be the most unsatisfactory I have ever encountered. I believe this establishment is significantly overrated. In my professional opinion, the culinary staff responsible for the preparation of my meal should be reevaluated. The fried chicken was notably overcooked and excessively salty. The scrambled egg toast, advertised as containing cheese, lacked any discernible cheese flavor. Furthermore, the shrimp and grits dish contained an insufficient quantity of grits. Upon bringing these concerns to the attention of the waiter, I was informed that this was the establishment's "standard." This was, without a doubt, the worst experience I have ever had.

G
Gloria Boyer

This waiter must have been a new employee our meal came out before our appetizer, the waiter toke our main course back to the kitchen, when they brought out our main course again my dinner was cool a little heat but not much, we had oyster for our appetizers and they were grate only thing I had to ask for was for more horseradish only and the person helping our waiter could not understand that, he had to go back several times to the kitchen to get us more horseradish because they gave you very little I was hard to make him under we only wanted horseradish not the sauce, so my NY strips was very chewy cut up a few pieces and ate them, but I had him take it back and ordered more oyster still had to pay for the NY but it is what it is, We will not be eating there again. Make reservations for 4 even if you have 2 in your party the seats for two is very uncomfortable
