Such a cute place, the drink pictured is the Frozen Lillet Blanc Royals! If you don’t know the drink you want, choose this! It’s absolutely amazing! Also the Mimolette cheese is to die for! Only one thing, it can be a little loud, was hard to hear our waiter, she was such a soft speaker

Amazing cauliflower plate, great staff and a small but great garden out back. Walked in and were granted a great table. Interesting cocktails and food to share.

It was an amazing place to spend our last night in New Orleans! The food and drinks were amazing. Our waiter Tony was on the money with his recommendations!

Brianna met us at the door and walked us through the delicious beets and heirloom carrot salad, tuna crudo and crispy pork belly trilogy. Coupled with a bottle of Pinot Noir, our belly's full and taste buds reeling and satisfied. Nighttime is the right time to dine. The dining room hints of a sort of garden chic motif and along with the Black Mamba Playlist chosen specifically by Brianna, had me singing, tasting, sipping, tapping and laughing on REPEAT.

Food is delicious and atmosphere is romantic and casual. Definitely feels like a local spot. Handmade pasta is a must!!

Went to Claret with a good friend and we had a great time! The charcuterie board was phenomenal and the options, though limited, were well thought out and excellently paired. I'll probably take a date here some time! Also, they have a residential cat named Porkchop and he is very sweet.

First time here won't be the last. Great innovative and unique food combinations. Can't wait to try more.

R

Very upscale and expensive, but the service was excellent given the circumstances with the shorthanded kitchen staff. They're fairly new, so they'll get it together. Food was excellent. Drinks were excellent. Again, a lot of money for small portions but definitely high quality and uncommon products.

Stopped at The Bower just this week to grab a drink after workout class. I ended up getting two drinks, lol. I started w| the Bower Sour and ended w| a Pinot Noir. I love the atmosphere— very chill and cozy. Service was great. I didn’t have any food but the food did smell so good. Can’t wait to go back and try it all!

We love everything about this quiet little restaurant. We have been here often and will undoubtedly be back again. 1

Great vibe and great food. Italian dishes are fabulous. Reservation is a must.

Always a wonderful meal. Front of house is brighter and quieter with hanging plants for a chill vibe, back of house is darker with awesome table lighting for a more boisterous group, and outside dining is also available on the co-shared patio space with Birdy's that closes after lunch. You can make a meal with the shareable happy hour specials too. Must haves are the whipped feta and blistered potatoes.

Went to the Bower for Coolinary and got these amazing 3-courses for $50. I had the risotto, red pepper spaghetti, and flourless chocolate torte. All three courses were absolutely delicious. The vibe is very "California" -- very young/cool/IG vibes. This doesn't feel like a nola/Louisiana restaurant at all, but sometimes it's nice for a change. Regardless, the food was very good.

S

Very nice atmosphere. Food was top notch. I had the vacation to endor (drink) and it was deliciously balanced and boozy. I’m not sure if my waitress was new, but she seemed to be somewhat unfamiliar with the menu and had minimal recommendations when requested. The general manager, however, came over and was friendly, welcoming, professional, and had a wonderful recommendation for the basil pasta. Overall, would absolutely return and recommend giving this place a try. You will not be disappointed.

It's debatable whether I've had a better meal... Like, ever. Absolutely everything about this place was perfect. I always say "oh I'll be sure to come visit this restaurant again next time I'm in town" but I might actually plan another trip here around this restaurant alone. I was mad I couldn't get all the entrees. My group and I got short ribs, pappardelle, crawfish pasta, scallops, basil pasta, and everyone loved absolutely everything. I've never had better short ribs, and one of my companions said it was the best meal of his trip. Even before we got there, we had to increase our reservation and they accommodated us hassle free, the service was great, the ambiance is great. This is such a special place and I hope it sticks around for a long long time. I need to try everything else on the menu!!

We signed up to do the full 5 course Revellion dinner and arrived a little early. They asked us to return closer to our reservation time and we ended up grabbing a drink at the back bar. Our table ended up being ready and the bartender was kind enough to put our drinks on the same tab as our food. They also said they could accommodate us if we didn’t all want to do the full experience even though that’s what we ended up doing. The food by the way was fantastic. My favorite dish had to be the mushroom bruschetta, but each was unique and well thought through. We had fun discovering each course throughout the evening. Modern decor inside - overall felt like a very decedent night out!

I took my wife here for her birthday and they did not disappoint. We had the most amazing spread with almost everything on the menu and I couldn’t complain about a single thing! Everything was cooked to perfection and the staff were so impressive that we had to buy a round of beers for everyone. I’ll definitely be coming back when we’re back in town. In my opinion this restaurant is a winner!

We had an excellent meal here consisting of spiced fried scallops, an excellent pasta dish, some delicious potatoes, a swordfish, and a wonderful chocolate dessert. I highly recommend it. Posting photos.

Absolutely spectacular food; Chicken Parm and Osso Bucco in particular were incredible. Great Margaritas too! Staff were amazing, engaging, friendly and super helpful. Really cool location and environment. Would definitely return next time I am in NOLA.

Oh my God!! So delicious!! We did the chef special and weren't disappointed at all!! Everything was like a symphony in my mouth!! The service was amazing. I wish I remembered the server's name, but she was so sweet. The amount of food I couldn't consume!! I tried hard, but it was worth the pain of trying to eat it all!! Chef well done sir!!

Stepping into The Bower is like entering a haven of sophisticated charm, the perfect backdrop for a memorable dining experience. The ambiance strikes a delightful balance, feeling both elegant and welcoming. However, the true highlight of the evening was undoubtedly our server, Elizabeth. Her attentiveness went beyond mere service; she was intuitive, offering insightful recommendations with genuine enthusiasm. Elizabeth’s warm professionalism and infectious charm truly elevated the entire experience, making us feel like valued guests. Honestly, her service was so impeccable, it almost overshadowed the anticipation for the delectable dishes to come (almost!). And those dishes? A testament to culinary artistry! Each bite at The Bower was a harmonious blend of fresh, high-quality ingredients, expertly prepared and beautifully presented. From the appetizers to the main courses, the food was simply outstanding, a clear indication of a kitchen dedicated to flavor and excellence. Combined with the expertly crafted drinks and the overall inviting atmosphere, The Bower offers a dining experience that is truly exceptional. If you're seeking a restaurant that delivers on both ambiance and exquisite cuisine, with service that shines as brightly as Elizabeth's smile, then The Bower is an absolute must-visit. Five stars, without a doubt!

We’re visiting from Australia and found this place by accident trawling google maps. This was their seasonal menu. The whipped feta was to die for. The shrimp was super crunchy. I had the pork loin for a main and my partner had the chicken. Both were amazingly textured and designed to eat with its accompaniments than the meat on its own. Weird but it worked. The desserts were absolutely delicious and light in texture. We left feeling so stuffed so I’m glad the desserts weren’t super heavy. For a drink, the chilled red was a nice touch on a hot humid day. Highly recommend! We’ve eaten all over the world and this was honestly one of the best for the price that it was.

We came to celebrate our anniversary and absolutely loved it! We split the cauliflower small plate and then had bolognes and the cacio e pepe. Love the vibe and decor of the place. Staff were also super friendly. Great place for a special occasion or just a yum dinner with friends.

Lobster night was incredible! Every course (5 of them!) was interesting and well thought out, and the wine pairings were fantastic. I almost didn’t want to give the secret away with this review but can’t wait for the third annual lobster fest !

We had a sampling of “small plates”, which really weren’t that small. Everything was awesome, especially loved whipped feta with dilly beans on the side along with Bower potatoes. Great little locals place.

Unusually tasty food in unique recipes. Service was friendly and very helpful. Quiet atmosphere, amenable to easy conversation.

Loved the ambiance, food is great. The waitress who served us and the other waiter are really nice to talk to and work with. A little less vegetarian options but they were willing to make a entree without shrimp just so that I could enjoy it. No substitutions was mentioned on the menu though. Overall, we had a great time. It could get a little noisy but it has not much to do with the restaurant. May be everyone who comes there have a good time that they all talk a lot!

Words cannot even describe how wonderful every element of this restaurant is, but I will do my best to try. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by Hannah with the warmest and most welcoming demeanor. I realized we accidentally showed up 45 minutes early for our reservation and she didn’t even bat an eye. She ended up being our server and was so kind and personable. It takes a truly special service industry professional to strike the balance of warmth and luxury that she did. She answered all of our questions with expertise and transparency even when she didn’t have a “canned” answer on hand, which made her come across extremely genuine. She even took care to position herself at our table in a way that made sure to not have the sun in our eyes as we talked to her. For appetizers we got the whipped feta and the crispy octopus. The octopus was the single best octopus I have ever had in my life. It’s a difficult protein to get right because one wrong move and it will get chewy and rubbery. The skin was so crispy, the meat so tender, and the flavor complex and delightful. For entrees we got the scallops and the papardelle bolognese. Both of the dishes had creative and unique flavors while remaining grounded. They tasted exactly how they looked like they should taste, but each had little surprises of flavors making them so fun to enjoy. I particularly enjoyed the crispy pancetta with the scallops. The papardelle also had the perfect amount of heat that built perfectly in intensity as it settled on the palette. For dessert, we had the chocolate torte and the blueberry peach biscuit. They both had the most wonderful house made whipped cream, and the salted caramel drizzle on the torte was the perfect touch. This was a celebratory anniversary dinner for my fiancé and me, and I could not have envisioned a more perfect dinner. I extend a huge thank you to every single person at The Bower for making tonight special and truly wowing us. I cannot wait to come back!

One of the best restaurants I have ever been to. We are from out of town and went here because it was nearby and on a list for having great cocktails, but the food was just as incredible. We got the bone marrow, burrata, and potatoes small plates which were all amazing and then the chicken dish… my boyfriend could not stop raving about it. All the portions were pretty sizable and reasonably priced. Ambiance both inside and outside was lovely and quiet, and the servers were wonderful. We’d go back in a heartbeat!

My husband and I have been going to the Bower for a while now. We love everything about it: the food, drinks, service, atmosphere, etc. My cousin came to town with his wife and two baby children. I wanted to take them to our favorite places in NOLA, so of course we made a reservation at the Bower. We arrived at our reservation time and our table was not quite ready. The staff gave us a free round of drinks since they were a few minutes late, which was so generous! We were still sat within minutes. I hadn’t really thought ahead about the restaurant not really being a “child friendly” establishment, but the staff went above and beyond to serve the two babies with us. Our server drew, by hand, pictures of a rabbit for the kids to color. Whenever one of the babies needed to be changed, my cousin was escorted to a private bathroom to be able to change her (no baby changing station in the “Public” restrooms). I’m blown away by the above and beyond service we received tonight. Thank you for making my visitors’ experience so wonderful!

This is a gorgeous, airy, light-filled space that was such a pleasure to eat and drink in. We sat outside on their covered patio section- so many beautiful plants! The food was amazing; we got a whipped feta for $8 on happy hour, and a charcuterie board for $12 on happy hour. It was a ton of food- there were no sad skimpy happy hour portions here. The house pickles were so tasty, and there were lots of different varieties between the two items. We had a bunch of cocktails for $6-7 a piece on happy hour, delicious and strong. The service was excellent and fast. I'd make this a regular happy hour spot in a heartbeat if I lived here!

One of our favorite places in the . Phenomenal appetizers- very creative, very sophisticated. Did not have any wines by the bottle, but most of the wines we had by the glass were really well selected. Cocktails are superb. Great vibe! Service impeccable. Will be back every time we are in New Orleans.

M

We came here for our girls dinner and could not have been happier. The atmosphere. service, cocktails, and food were all outstanding. Starting with drinks, the Mood Ring and the LGD were the favorites. For our starters, we could not get enough of the whipped feta dip with pickled veggies and the Cauliflower with sweet garlic chili oil. Our mains were the bolognese, the basil pasta, the eggplant, and the smoked salmon, all 4 were delicious. The service could not have been better and we will definitely be back in the future. We also ended the night at their wine bar which is right next door. Could not have asked for a better experience all around.

C

Food was excellent! Wine and beverage choices were plenty and quality and service was great. Waiter not only took photos for us, but ran down the street and tracked us down for a phone and leftovers we had forgotten!! Above and beyond food and service!

Food, service and atmosphere were all great. This restaurant really packs it in. Service was fantastic with a super sweet waitress, and I absolutely loved my red fish. Generous servings as well. Couldn’t have been happier with the place.

Sat outside on a beautiful spring day. Loved the crispy cauliflower and was impressed by the large portion sizes of the pasta dishes. I had the bolognese and it’s probably the best pasta dish I’ve had in New Orleans so far. Will definitely come back.

The Bower is a great option for foodies and those who really appreciate a good dining experience. Shay (server), Briana (bartender), and Dre (GM) were so accommodating and the food was outstanding. I had the short ribs, cauliflower, shortcake, mood ring drink and the audacity drink were all 5 stars! I can't wait to return again!

Excellent mixture of New American, Seafood and NOLA cuisine. The bar is quite nice and dining room was conducive for a large group to enjoy conversation. It is not a noisy place.

L
Lauren Manna

First time at The Bower and it did NOT disappoint! We went for a date night and it was a really nice, intimate setting - not loads of tables and not loud. The cocktails were tasty and we sampled several small plates (that weren’t so small) and had the basil spaghetti. Everything was delicious and the service was great. We’ll definitely be going back :-)

Z
Zara Noreen

We had a pretty large group here during a conference and they were very accommodating. Cocktails were A+ and the vibes were wonderful. Decorations were very boho/earthy. The food was for the most part delicious. I think our group’s top favorite apps were the spicy scallop Arancini and the lamb meatballs. The only dish that wasn’t a crowd favorite was the whipped feta which most people agreed was too salty.

B
Beckles

Wonderful service and food. The most outstanding being the service, the staff were so warm and friendly, from the host to our server, even the person who brought us our appetizer was just so nice and talkative and made our night. We stopped in after our super busy workdays and left totally stress free. Plus, the food was perfect so thank you :)

Visiting NOLA and consider ourselves seasoned foodies. The Bower did not disappoint! The Avocado Panzanella was a party in our mouths! The stuff of dreams.

E

Had a great dinner at The Bower last night. Our waitress was Hannah, very attentive and friendly… constantly looking over at us to see if we needed anything. Food was amazing - the beet salad and potato appetizers were very good and the Bolognese was fantastic. Highly recommended.

I’m so glad I chose this restaurant! It was my favorite meal of the entire trip. The avocado appetizer, the truffle bread appetizer and the whipped feta was off the chart. Everything we tried was bursting with flavor and it was all delicious! Also highly recommend the mood ring drink. It was sooooo good. Service was phenomenal and the restaurant itself is just darling with a beautiful atmosphere and great tropical plants! You Must try

Went to celebrate my wife's birthday. Lucky for us we were the only ones there so service was quick. Food was beyond amazing! I had the chicken parmesan and she had the pappardelle bolognese

J

We decided to give The Bower a try due to proximity to our hotel and man, oh man - I’m so glad we did. We went during happy hour, which is everyday 4-6. We ordered a charcuterie plate with hummus, burrata and peppers, and onion dip. It came with two housemade jams as well. Every single thing on the board was scrumptious. We also got the cauliflower, excellent. In addition, the small human in the group got buttered noodles - even those were great. This food was the highlight of the trip in terms of restaurants we tried while here. We will definitely be back the next time we come to NOLA.

This spot is an absolute gem in the neighborhood. The restaurant in front is both elegant and inviting. The bar in back is more casual, but full of class and good vibes. The employees are the cherry on top, as they all are just fantastic. Their holiday theme in the back bar is super fun right now. Their happy hour is PHENOMENAL. And chargrilled oysters night? Get out. So good. Try this spot!

Fun place for Christmas time. My friend and I went for dinner. I wasn’t feeling the best and the waitress went out of her way to get us out quickly. I want to go back to try more food. The Christmas cocktails were fun. I am definitely going back. Easy to get to from i10.

Had a great time here. Good crowd. We only had cocktails, and they were mostly great. Great service. Definitely want to go back and try their food and wine.

K

I enjoyed Bower. The Cauliflower dish was absolutely delicious!! The pasta dish was just okay for me. It had a very mild flavor. The one challenge to know is that they don't split checks. They have a minimum of four orders to a card. Makes it a bit challenging depending on who you're dining with. Otherwise, we had a really good experience.

P
Paul Catalano

The Bower in New Orleans is a lush, stylish spot serving fresh, seasonal dishes with a local twist. Standouts include truffled parmesan bread, housemade pastas like pappardelle bolognese, and crisp farm-fresh salads. The cocktails are playful and well-crafted, especially the zodiac-themed ones. It’s the kind of place where you’ll feel fancy without trying too hard.

g

Nice atmosphere! Our first time here and the overall experience was good. We waited a long while for a server to assist us. He was okay. The food was good, but it came out cold. We were able to get it warmed which was helpful. Everything was delayed though. Perhaps we came at a bad time. I’m eager to give them another try because I did like the environment and food choices.

Absolutely beautiful restaurant! The staff was very attentive and very knowledgeable about the menu. Definitely a great place for cocktails and sharing apps and an entree. I would skip on the Radiatore. Definitely get the papardelle bolognese and the whipped feta. Overall it was a little pricy for what it was but i would definitely go back again!

The vibe here is niiice.. cozy, stylish, and perfect for a catch-up or date night. Staff was attentive and super friendly throughout. Happy hour deals? Solid 5/5 -- great value and options. The old fashioned was yummy. As for the food though: mixed feelings…. Overall mid. i’ve had better food. The arancini didn't quite hit the mark for me -- not crispy enough & cold (2.5), and the cacio e pepe was a bit underwhelming compared to very good ones I have had (3). But the truffle bread was a standout--very tasty, wish there was more red pepper so it wasn't so sweet but yumm(4)! It was all just decent food, nothing special or mouthwatering... too bland. Overall, food lands around a ~3.5 to me. Might return for drinks and apps, especially during happy hour.. but not in a rush tbh. [this review is not inclusive of the bower bar vibe in the back / birdy's]

Clean modern restaurant with lovely service and good food. Our server, Alexis was great. The grilled artichokes excellent, a large portion for an appetizer, seasoned well and served with a creamy dipping sauce. The panzanella salad was rich but the crispy (very crispy) croutons added texture to an otherwise creamy dish. We really enjoyed this salad. The stuffies were okay but probably wouldn’t order again. The stuffing was mostly bread and we didn’t taste much of anything than bread. The hanger steak was ordered medium and served rare, was closer to medium after the second fire. It was tasty. The basil pesto was good. The pasta had a nice bite and flavor. Strawberry shortcake was delicious. The biscuit was warm and had a nice texture that held up to the strawberry filling. Flourless chocolate cake was rich and decadent. Overall I enjoyed this restaurant.

C
Christopher

Friendly and welcoming establishment. They squeezed our party in on a full night at a nice table outside and we didn't have to wait too long. An excellent variety of drinks to choose from and even had a few beers from brands that I never even heard of before. However, high prices on small portions of food which I was disappointed with. Walked away still kind of hungry. Still would come back for the drinks sometime in the future.

K
Kelsey S

Came here at 6:30pm on same day reservations and sat outside. There were fans outside but none at our table which made it a bit hot with the summer weather. All the food was great, service was a bit scattered but that's understandable with staffing. Some plates were cleared too quickly but we enjoyed ourselves. Our favorite dish was the scallop crudo - very fresh with a unique flavor. The table favorite cocktail was the Mood Ring.

D

Had dinner for four there took a little while to get our food, but it was very good, but it was very expensive Four people had small plates. It was $340.

P

Great food and atmosphere. The whipped feta and smoked carrots were delicious small plates. Sub par service. Our waiter was very nice but not the most attentive. The drinks were great but they took 15 minutes to come and the resturant was not busy.

I have been to the Bower a couple of times and the food and service have been great. I recently went to the tasting they had for the tasting collective because I am a member and enjoyed it as well. Thank you for the thank you card and coupon you have to us during the tasting. I will definitely be going back.

B
Brianna Baker

To eat, we tried a variety of items - thankful that there were quite a few options for vegetarians. The Bower Potatoes are a must (perfectly crispy and that green goddess dressing?! So good), the Crispy Cauliflower is not as crispy as I hoped for but still a great kimchi-esque flavor, the Basil Spaghetti was nice but could've used a tad more salt, and the Avocado Panzanella was surprisingly my favorite dish of the evening! Great flavors and texture here. Our waitress was very sweet and food came out quickly.

S
Susan Jackson

Tuna tartare was good. Warm olives were also good. New York Strip was meh. I got it medium rare but still a tough piece of meat and not very flavorful. I should have gone with the charcuterie board instead. Service was good.

This is a wine and cocktail bar formerly known as "Claret" that shares a patio with their across the way neighbor Birdies Behind the Bower. This is a popular spot for happy hour. The vibe here tends to be more upscale and there is an absolute lack of any dive bar ambiance here. The food trends in an Italianish meets California direction and most definitely exhibits zero New Orleans Creole influences. I've actually never eaten here (I have eaten at Birdies Behind the Bower) but I've had some drinks as there are a few things on the menu that look interesting to me here but so far I haven't been inspired to try any of them; for example a $30 chicken parmesan just doesn't seem like a very decently priced item to me when I know of LOTS of other places I can get an equivalent for a better value. Personally for the $30 price range I'm getting a big steak or a lot of seafood. Overall it is an interesting place that seems to draw large groups of females together around happy hour time to grab drinks as they snack on little nibbles of things so they do bring plenty of joy and happiness to those folks here.

S
Stephanie Massouda

I hate to give this place only 3* because the food, drinks, and ambiance are 5*. Marcus the executive chef is amazing and the food was phenomenal. The bartender was a master at her craft and the cocktails were delicious. Our waitress, however, dropped our check TWICE without us asking for it, even though there were plenty of tables and they didn't close for at least an hour. It left a sour taste in our mouths as we felt unwelcome.

B
B W

We ate here for my father’s birthday. While the atmosphere was absolutely beautiful and aesthetic and the food was very good, the service was disappointing and for that we will not be coming back. The whole time me and my family felt as if we were unwanted and the staff were very snooty. To me the staff can make or break an establishment and this just wasn’t worth the drive or money.

E
Eric Zuniga

We had high hopes but it’s sad to spend $200 and leave thinking “I’d never come here again.” Food and drinks were just very mediocre. Whipped feta with pickles - delicious had it not been for the insane amount of salt that stings your tongue on the front end and continues through the finish. “Pickles” turned out to be very dry, slightly pickled onions and carrots. Not pickles. Gulf shrimp app - good but not great. Shrimp did not taste fresh like the beautiful gulf shrimp you’d expect at a great nola restaurant. Red Fish entree - Cooked well but quality of fish was meh. Tasted like previously frozen, moderate quality fish for $36. Pork OssoBuco - tasted gamey. A little dry. Potatoes were good. Cocktails - Overly sweet on the vodka drinks. Tequila/mezcal drinks did not taste balanced at all. Citrus did not taste fresh. Way too much salinity in the liquid itself. If you don’t care about protein, the options here are fine. They just need to slow down focus more on quality. You can’t get by being just okay in this city at these price points.

First, the atmosphere is very nice. However, the food was disappointing. Started with appetizers. The whipped feta was average . The potato appetizer was basically fried potatoes with a very garlicky sauce. I ordered the fish. Very small piece of fish with a few slices of cold eggplant underneath. I think this is a nice spot for a cocktail but there are too many restaurants that would provide a better dining experience.

To the bartender working this Wednesday, some advice: • Don’t visibly roll your eyes at your only bar guest when they ask to see the happy hour menu at 5:40 PM. • When your three-top asks, “What appetizers are good?” and you respond, “All of them,” it shows you don’t know the menu or you don’t care.

The Bower staff is great and the space is lovely but all of the food was strange. The whipped feta ($14) was so salty it was inedible. The scallops ($38) came with with so much sour cherry chutney you couldn’t taste much else. The papparadelle bolognese ($28) was sweet and confusing with the aged balsamic. It did not scratch any bolognese or meat itch the patron may have anticipated. The bubble and squeak waffle ($18) was a standard waffle with good salmon but not memorable. Great wine and cocktails. I would not go back.

First of all, the table was sticky. I don't care what the alcohol spray from covid did. We ordered 2 cabernets. $14 each Bone marrow - $22 - great with the shrimp toast. The green goddess dressing, greens, and mandarin we didn't care for. Scallops - $38 - a little too fishy for my liking. The cracker didn't make sense to me. The oxtail was better than the scallop! The price makes sense. Pappardelle Bolognese - $28 - too expensive for the amount you get. The sauce was burnt! I love bolognese and this wasn't it. Our server was great.

I was highly disappointed in this “restaurant”. When we arrived the hostess/waitress asked if we had a reservation, the restaurant was empty. When seated she poured warm water from a glass bottle into small glasses. We ordered sodas, they were in skinny glasses, were primarily large ice cubes and the soda itself was flat. They barely have any main entrees, there were about 6 very expensive options that are trying too hard to be pretentious. We ordered shrimp and crab rigatoni. It had good flavor, however there was no visible shrimp or crab, the meat that was obvious appeared to be crawfish. The portion was small. If you’re looking for a drink they had multiple menus of options. The food menu was mostly charcuterie boards. I’m not sure how they’re advertising as a restaurant when they are mainly drinks. By far the worst restaurant we visited in New Orleans.

I was so excited to try The Bower. The vibe is so cool. The food and drinks were a real let down. The fennel salad was covered in a raw herb that was so over powering, the whole dish tasted like grass. The trout and spaghetti squash were nice but they poured some pureed herb sauce on it that completely ruined the dish. The drinks did not have a good balance to them. The best drink was the rosemary's baby. The best part of the meal were the deserts. So disappointed. I wanted to love it.

Service was very slow. Overall everything was over priced. The petit filet was supposed to be served medium rare and was well done. The drinks were fantastic but the food fell very short of expectations for the price and a restaurant with a 4.5 star rating.

Atmosphere is as lovely as the staff. But handmade pasta should be like silk, not gummy. The bolognese was bitter and the soft shell crab was small. This is such a great spot and has the makings of something wonderful with a little work.

We dined at The Bower in the Lower Garden District with high hopes, but unfortunately, it fell far short of expectations. While the appetizers were enjoyable and gave us some hope, everything went downhill from there. The entrees were incredibly salty—so much so that they were nearly inedible. After looking up reviews later, we saw that others have mentioned the same issue, but it seems the restaurant isn’t paying attention. The basil spaghetti, in particular, was a disappointment; it lacked any noticeable basil flavor and was just bland. When we brought our concerns to the waiter, his response was completely apathetic, as if it was normal or not worth addressing. It felt like feedback was dismissed before it was even considered. To top it off, the desserts were a disaster. One was so hard it was like biting into a rock, and the other was cloyingly sweet—one bite felt like a guaranteed insulin spike. For a place with such a nice atmosphere, the lack of care in the food and service was a real letdown. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend The Bower unless major improvements are made.

Arrived at the restaurant to be told by the manager that the Reveillon had to be Full table, which was not advertised on website. The manager on duty was rude and unwilling to Accommodate. Food was fair My suggestion would be Herb Saint or any other restaurant in New Orleans. Our waitress, Kayla was very accommodating and apologized for the inconvenience.

Overpriced yet underwhelming in quality. The service was poor to say the absolute least. Considering the high reviews, you would assume the atmosphere would be somewhat welcoming. This is yet another “Instagram-able” establishment disguised as a restaurant.

First night in New Orleans from Nashville. Not good food , not good welcome at the door . The hostess was terrible! We don’t recommend. Don’t waste a night here , so many amazing restaurants in this city. Had the fish (bland) and pesto pasta ( weirdly sweet?!? Doesn’t taste like pesto should taste), and Parmesan bread , alright… after not agreeing to sit outside (cold and no ambiance or service whatsoever) they moved us to the bar which saved them a bit , at least we stayed for the meal otherwise we would’ve left. Overall a totally wasted meal. Just to say - Noah the bartender was super awesome! He gave a great and friendly service! If the food was better (not up to him) we would’ve gave 2 or more stars, however…..

Make Bartender on 12/20/25 was so rude and racist to my friends! Thanks Grinch, for ruining our night!

We waited for an hour and a half for our food, with no explanation given, when we got it, it was very mediocre, needed salt, and the bill was exorbitant. Barely any apology was given and they only offered a tiny discount after we complained. Avoid this place at all costs. Even if we had gotten our food on time, the food was not anywhere worth the price.

We were really disappointed with our New Year’s Eve dinner. We opted for the fixed menu and, given the nearly $300 price point, expected a much higher standard. Portions were quite small, the meat courses came out cold, and several of the flavors felt off or poorly balanced. For a special occasion and premium pricing, the experience did not meet expectations. Unfortunately, it fell far short of what we were hoping would be a memorable NYE meal.
